Happy new years eve. Im Griff Jenkins joined by rachel camposduffy and Jason Chaffetz, good morning, guys. Jason good morning, happy new year. Rachel good morning, happy new year griff and jason. So excited to be here with both of you here. Jason kiwi style. The kiwis are getting it done in new zealand. Everyone is looking forward to 2021, griff. Griff absolutely. There is so much to look forward to. We will ask you at some point to tell us at foxnews. Com what you are looking forward to. But, before we get there, we too indeed have some news. So lets turn now to the standoff on capitol hill over Coronavirus Relief. Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell slamming the brakes on 2,000 checks for millions of americans. The Kentucky Republican saying. Rachel i dont have i dont have any feed. Griff griff path to passing the senate. Lucas tomlinson is live in d. C. With more as the measure sits in limbo. Lucas, good morning. Parting shots here on capitol hill as Senate Majority leader accusing nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer trying to pull a fast one on the president and the American People. Are pnchts Speaker Pelosi structured her bill so a family of 4 would have to earn more than 300,000 in order not, not to qualify for more cash. And Democratic Leaders want to call this scheme, quote survival checks . Members of congress ringing in the new year with right here in washington. Debating two major funding bills for stimulus increase today. Et have to override the president s veto on the massive defense bill could come tomorrow or saturday. Term has to be done by sound because thats when the 116th Congress Ends. Clergy the books on all legislation. Sanders says trump is right on bumping up those checks to 2,000. Here is what he told bret baier last night on special report. All that i am asking of Mitch Mcconnell give us a vote. He wants to announce that vote now, he can have his vote on the defense override on 5 minutes. Marks the one Year Anniversary of killing irans most powerful general and iran has vowed revenge. President trump urge returning to washington today cutting his florida trip short. Not clear why he is doing that. Griff lucas many to lynnson in washington. Rachel thank you, lucas. . Does look like the 2,000 checks are probably dead on arrival. But it certainly raised a lot of important points. One of which Mollie Hemingway was making last night about lawmakers expressing concern about the debt and where we are headed. Heres a little bit what she said last night on special report. Watch. When you have states getting bailouts because they are suffering from lack of tax dollars pause of you who they shut down the economy, when money is going overseas. When 6. 5 trillion has been spent on the ongoing wars in iraq and afghanistan. It would be great if people really cared about how much money is being spent. But that they only seem to express concern when it comes to direct payments to the americans no have had their jobs taken away from them who cant go to church or go to school or go to jobs that cant be done from a desk like so many elite people can. Its important that we help people out during this time and that Senate Republicans do something if they do care about winning these Georgia Senate races. . Jason first of all Mollie Hemmingway is one of the smartest people around and she brings up incredible points. I get frustrated on both sides of the aisle, republicans are just as culpable as the democrats. Suddenly whenever they are in the minority everybody gets worried about the debt and deficit. What we never have a discussion about in washington, d. C. Is where to cut expenses. People are in real need. Covid has had an impact through no fault of their own. People are suffering. Those people need a boost. They need support. Thats why this back stop of our government is supposed to be here. You have got to cut Something Else out of the budget in order to balance it at some point. And there is never a discussion particularly from the democrats about cutting anything. And thats what has to happen in d. C. Rachel thats right, jason. If you remember, the reason why the original bill was only 600 is because the democrats loaded it up with all their special projects, all their special interest and then there was no money left over at the end. There was only 600 for the American People. Donald trump comes in and says well, they need 2,000 and the democrats say yeah, yeah. We agree with donald trump. But they forgot about the two other things that crump said had to happen with those 2,000 checks which was section 230 to reign in big tech monopolies and also reforms and a look at election integrity. And, you know, the democrats are coming in here saying hey, we are all for the little guys here yeah be for the checks but then also if you are for the little guy you have got to be for reigning in these huge corporations that have so much control over our information, who actually impacted our elections with their will trnl ways and theyre so powerful. And also you have to care about election integrity. Because of the only thing that the little guy has is his vote. And if that vote, if there is no election integrity, if he cant depend on that vote not being corrupted, then, guess what . That little guy has nothing. Thats his only voice in our system. Meanwhile, josh hawley, someone else who is on the populist side of the republican party, the same side that Mollie Hemingway was voicing there is josh hawley. He says he is going to october to the Electoral College certification. They needed that senator in order to do this. Here is what the reason why he says hes going to join these congressman to do that on january 6th. I dont recall hearing the democrats make any such outrageous claims when they were the ones objecting during the Electoral College certification in 2004 and 2016. Democrats have done this for years in order to raise concerns about election integrity. Now when republicans, 74 million americans have concerns about election up be telling gri at this we are supposed to sit down and shut up in the election process . We had unprecedented interference from the biggest, most powerful corporations in the history of the world, the big tech corporations all in favor of joe biden, censorship like we have never seen before. We have had no congressional investigation of the fraud. We need it. We have had no congressional action. We need that to protect our elections going forward. So im going to make all of these points and im going to try to force a debate about all of these points. Griff and when hawley does it, it will be just the third time in history its likely to move into debate. Once he does it, the chambers will go back and have a debate over it. But this is an important point. That is that hawley is doing it for the same reason that senator Barbara Boxer did in 2005 when she joined an ohio congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs over access to polling for minorities. The point was that every vote should be counted. Here is a flashback to when Barbara Boxer took that stand on january 6th and 2005. Watch every citizen of this country who is registered to vote should be guaranteed that their vote matters. That their vote is counted. I am joining with congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs jones to cast a light of truce on a flawed system which must be fixed now. I raised these objections because i am convinced that we, as a body, must conduct a formal and legitimate debate about election irregularities. Griff election irregularities and a flawed system. Thats what we heard there. The media praised those lawmakers for doing it then but yet, jason, now hawley is being blasted for engages in conspiratorial fantasies for raising what is a legitimate point particularly when it comes to big tech and their censorship which is in every way a form of disenfranchisement. Jason i doubt much of the media is going to be praising hawley and mo brooks in the house of representatives. What i think is interesting about this, what will happen procedurally on the 6th is they will bring this up. There will be an objection. That will lead to debate. After that debate, theyre going to want to vote, but then there is going to be a parliamentary inquiry and they will figure out can the states have one vote and one representation or does each member vote individually. Republicans are banking on the idea that they would vote by state in which i believe its 27 state are in republican hands. And thats what they are counting on. Its a long shot by any sense, but thats procedurally the way things will go down on the 6th. It will be fascinating. Rachel yet, and meanwhile, joe bidens Transition Team, so you have Joe Biden Transition Team telling the media when they ask questions they are actually disabling their zoom calls. Here is sam stein from the daily beast complaining kind of what the Transition Team is saying after the Transition Team said they were going to be transparent. The Biden Transition Team appears to have disabled the public chat function on transition zoom calls a place where i and others had been routinely complain being to them to take more questions. Griff, what do you say . I mean, you are in the media, you are a journalist. How would this would they have put up with this if donald trump and his team had disabled their zoom chat . Griff great point. No, they would not, rachel. Lets go to the way back time machine and look at a flashback. Remember, reporter comment on zoom chats with biden back in mid december, watch. Im sorry, sorry. This is a quote. This is sam stein again saying hey, guys, there are tons of folks looking to ask questions and since this is being done once a week could we please go longer at least hold more frequent briefings, zeke miller of the Associated Press says any chance you being take a few more questions . There are a lot of folks here with questions. Andrew feinberg is there saying we want to ask questions if you can only call on the same small group every week . The flashback side i wanted to show you was t. J. Duck low, bidens press secretary saying we need transparency. Very important. This is in november. Watch. Transparency is incredibly important. He also believes though that the medias job is to hold him accountable. He is there to do the peoplens work. And, you know, he welcomes that relationship. He welcomes their role. The medias role in our democracy. I think it will be frankly the polar opposite of what we have seen over the last four years. I think you will see a huge change in the culture and the way that this white house treats the media. Jason thats one of the best laughs you will get this morning. President trump should be winning awards for openness and transparency. The guy has answered every question from every reporter. Those reporters in washington, d. C. And on the trail never ask joe biden, never ask Kamala Harris any questions. So when they say they are going to change the culture. You are right they are going to change the culture because they are going to lock it down and go into a deep sleep and highwayer nation and four years of asking joe biden what end could of ice cream does he eat before he gets put to bed at 7 30 p. M. Thats the way it will go in washington, d. C. Griff great point, jason. Its become, we just assume that President Trump will stop going to marine one every time and take a lot of questions. That was not the case with any president prior and its probably not going to be the case with a Biden Administration either. Good point indeed. Were going to turn enough to though to your headlines. The Nashville Police chief is defending the departments handling of a 2019 complaint from the president ial bombers girlfriend. She told police he was building bombs inside his rv at the home. The police chief says they didnt have enough evidence for a search warrant at the time. I believe officers did everything they could legally. Maybe we could have followed up more hindsight is 20 to. Meanwhile, the chilling 911 calls are released from before and after the Christmas Day explosion. Listen. There is a recording out there saying there is a limited time to evacuate this area. There is a large bomb inside this vehicle. Oh my gosh, my entire building just fell down and its collapsing. [explosion] griff the suspect died in the explosion. Three others were hurt and dozens of buildings were damaged. Nashville has canceled its new years fireworks display over respects to those who heard the bombing. Election for louisiana congressman elect luke letlows see set for march 20th. Ing he passed away just days before he was set to be sworn in. Doctors say he died from a heart attack during a coronavirus related procedure. The march special election is expected to also feature the race to replace democrat senator rich who is leaving his seat for a post in joe Bidens Administration. Florida Governor Ron Desantis is applauded for refusing to take the covid19 vaccine before people who are at most risk. Im willing to take it but i am not the priority. They are the priority. I want my parents, our grandparents to be able to get it and im an elected official whoopi do. At the end of the day, lets focus where the risk is. [applause] griff you hear the applause there. Seniors in the Sunshine State have faced long lines to get a dose of the vaccine. Desantis urged them to be patient as more doses are distributed. And the iconic times square crystal ball is tested and ready for tonights new years drop. But it will look much different from years past. Massive crowds wont be filling the streets because of the pandemic. Only a limited number of First Responders will be allowed to attend the ball crop will be live streamed so people can watch from home and those are your headlines. We will be checking in with our weather man, adam klotz. Is he coming to us live from times square. We will get a preview and look at the ball that will drop. Jason very good, griff. Still ahead, the new congress convenience on sunday. Its coming up. Its that soon. Does Speaker Pelosi have the votes to keep the gavel . Our next guest says there are two major threats to pelosis narrow path. Thats coming up next dont do me like that dont do me like its time for the lowest prices of the season on the sleep number 360 smart bed. Can it help with snoring . Ive never heard snoring. Exactly. No problem. And done. And now, the queen sleep number 360 c2 smart bed is only 899. Plus, no interest until january 2024. Ends monday. Our party is unified around our common are ethical believes. Obeliefs. Of course we have our differences in approach and some other ideas. Thats our vitality. I would not be want to be the leader of a party that was rubber stamp lock step thats called republicans. . Jason well, House Speaker nancy pelosi takes jabs at republicans, tensions from within her own party could mark the end of her days as speaker. We will see on sunday when the new Congress Votes on house leadership. What factors could decide whether pelosi stays or goes . Lets ask senior policy analyst from the independent independent womans forum patrice. Thank you so much for being here. The math is tough for nancy pelosi. You have to get to 217 vote. There are 222 democrats coming back. But there are already they that have declared that they are not going to vote for nancy pelosi. And 10 of the returning members they didnt vote for nancy pelosi last time. So, how do you see this that she has got to run the gauntlet in order to get there whats your view of this. She certainly has two forces that are working that could sink her ship right now. Number one, you mentioned defection. So in 2019, 15 democrats voted gents her. And as you recognize about 10 of them, you know, are probably going are coming back and they probably will support her this time around. Although you have a couple of other members who have already come out as no vote. Have you jared golden in maine. You have alyssa slot nic in michigan who already said they are nos. You have got some who have said they havent even come on the record about what they are going to do like be a be gail sparta spartanberg. 15 freshman have not gone on the record how they are going to vote. If you have got these defections aids saying maybe 10 is their wiggle room and number two coronavirus. So this is not a remote vote this time around. Everyone needs to be present. And if you have got sick members. If you have got people who are worried about the coronavirus, they may stay home. And that could impact her the vote in her favor. Jason yeah. Thats right. What they are going to do is take the 400 and its not 5. Because we are less a few people. Go in blocks, divide it up in 7. You have to go to the floor and actually call out. [clearing throat] excuse me. Call out the name of the person that you want to have vote for speaker. And two of the democrats have coronavirus so you have to show up and actually too this. I think were Alcee Hastings is battling pancreatic cancer. Are others who have health statuses. While nancy pelosi was effective at raising a boat load of money in the election cycle trouble on her hands not been able to reign from the far left democrats who have pushed the defund the Police Narrative, who pushed socialism. That hurt a lot of moderate democrats this election cycle. They are going to remember that and its not surprising you have got some folks holding the cards pretty close to their vest right now. Jason you have aoc and the squad pushing further further to the left. She has a very divided caucus. I dont know that she is actually going to do it. Its going to be high drama on sunday starting at noon. Its going to take hours to go through the process but we will see what actually happens there. I think she has a tough gauntlet. Pa trish u of nwuka happy new year and thank you for joining us this morning. Thank you, jason, will happy new year. The Trump Administration declassifying intelligence suggesting china pay Bank Accounts on american troop in afghanistan. President trump was briefed on the matter two weeks ago. Administration officials are working to corroborate the report. And the administration facing a census setback after the bureau says it will miss its deadline for the first time. The bureau is still confirming the accuracy of results, which will determine house seats for the next decade. The delay to give president elect biden the chance to overturn President Trumps order to exclude Illegal Immigrants from the count. Rachel . Rachel thank you, griff. All right. Well, a second case of the new, more contagious strain of covid19 in the u. S. Detected in San Diego County just one day after it was reported in colorado. Here with what you need to know, fox news medical contributor janette dr. Janette nesheiwat. Welcome to the show. Tell us if we should be worried about the fact that now we have two cases. What we need to do is take extra precaution especially in california, rachel. In some places in california they are zero percent icu capacity. The good thing about the u. K. You strain will is not more deadly but a lot more contagious. That means its going to spread easily from person to person. So more people are going to catch it. If you are in area of california where the numbers are sky high and you get sick and you may need to be hospitalized you may not be able to get the care you need. We also know its in colorado. Its probably in some other states as well. It just has not been identified yet. Just as it is identified already in many other countries. Spain, france, the middle east. So what we need to do is continue now more than ever to comply with our safety guidelines. We all know what that is. Thats wear your mask, social distancing, especially during the holidays, during the cold weather. A lot of people are traveling. They are not wearing their mask. So very important now more than ever, especially if you are at high risk to please comply, at least until you get your vacci vaccine. Rachel right, doctor i know you are getting your vaccine at noon. I had code and recovered from it. Will the antibodies i get and the protections you get from the vaccine protect us from this new strain . Yes. So, you are likely going to be protected but we dont know exactly how long that that the cdc says if you have had the infection anywhere from about 4 to 6 months. From my experience of my patients, rachel, the longest that i have had a patient that had an be at this bodies from infection was about month. You still want to be careful. Practice social distancing, wearing your mask. Rachel well, trump is President Trump is saying that its up to the states to administer the cody vaccine as more data is now showing that 12 million doses have been distributed. But only 2 Million People have taken it so far. Why are we seeing this, you know, 10 million vaccine strep is i . Is this a distribution problem or are people afraid to take the vaccine . Well, its multifactorial. Lets not forget this is unprecedented historic challenge that our country is facing. Yes, we have vaccinated about 2 Million People in the past two weeks. And its there is a lot involved. Planning, organizations, we have to have a Robust Health fracture includes distribution, allocation of the vaccines, storage of the vaccines, administering the vaccines which includes the fact that you need staff to administer. You need supplies. You need the vaccine, syringes, alcohol swabs. Then there is the issue with the lag in reporting. Some places just have not reported the shots that they have given. Yes, there is a component of fear. There is a component of lack of coordination of appointments. So its multifactorial in addition to that we needed funding which we just got nearly 9 billion allocated for vaccine distribution. We started off with a slow start but i think we are really now at the point where we are trying to ramp it up and pick up the pace with it. Rachel all right. Unk that, doctor. Such great information. Hopefully 2020 will bring us a speedier execution of these vaccines moving into the new year. Thats right. Rachel thank you so much, doctor and happy new year to you, it will. Happy new year. Rachel coming up, senator Bernie Sanders weighing in on joe bidens recent cabinet picks his comments and reaction from our own lara logan next. Plus, after a long 2020 we made it to new years eve. Meteorologist adam klotz is live from times square after the break to give us all that he sees i am robert strickler. Ive been involved in communications in the media for 45 years. Ive been taking prevagen on a regular basis for at least eight years. For me, the greatest benefit over the years has been that prevagen seems to help me recall things and also think more clearly. Which is why we plan to donate over twenty four million dollars, again this year. The subaru share the love event, going on now. Many of the picks that the president elect has made are really excellent. And i think, especially in the area of covid19, and healthcare, you are going to see a radical change. The Progressive Movement in this country is, you know, 40, 45 of the democratic coalition. And i think it is appropriate that the Progressive Movement have representation in the biden cabinet. Jason many senator Bernie Sanders satisfied with will president elect joe bidens cabinet picks so far pushing him to move further left with more progressives in the remaining spots. Griff here to react is fox nation host lara logan. Happy new years eve to you. Thank you. Griff what do you make of senator sanders comments there that he is satisfied but he wants more progressives as this administration seems to be filling out to be similar to the Obama Administration . Yeah. It really depends on how speak to. There are millions of americans whose opinions will never be written about in most of the papers or reported on television. And for them, this is predictable, right . Because it was very obvious that that biden wasnt going to get elected without Bernie Sanders support base. The squad has been gross in influence and in reach across the democratic side. And Bernie Sanders is seen by many to be leveraging the power that he has where it was obvious that he wasnt electable. But he leveraged the support base and its paying dividends. Rachel lara, should would he be worried . I mean, this is an avowed socialist in the u. S. Senate who says he is really happy with these picks . What does that mean for us and what does that mean over four years with these potentially radical progressives in really key positions in this administration . Will. Well, the good part is we dont have to guess what it means because if you look at the Biden Administrations plan on climate for example which was taken from the green new deal, which is about the most radical sort of marxist, communist document on climate that this country has ever seen as a policy document. Well, they are very, very similar. And if you are the agricultural industry. If you are in the beef industry, for example, you should be afraid because the tax on me thing. The me thing tax coming on your cattle farmer 800 cows 1. 8 million. Thats going to put that can easily put many Small Farmers out of business. So, these are radical changes. Many of them outlined. You can read them on the Transition Teams website or biden and his campaigns policies. And if there is not a republican majority in the senate, well, then, you can expect to see radical change across the entire government. See the end of the Electoral College. The packing of Supreme Court. But look at the census bureau. You know, increasing house seats for those states who house many Illegal Immigrants. Could easily, according to Many Political people i speak to, push the house out of reach for republicans. And of course its hard enough to get any allegation of fraud in the election investigated now, imagine what that will be like when you have your total grip on power. I speak to people every day who are concerned that what you are looking at is a oneparty state for the u. S. Because democracy without the republic is just a tyranny of the majority. Jason it gets exasperated by the fact that giewrg the entire Campaign Joe Biden and clarifies were hiding in the basement. I dont see any reporters anxious to get after joe biden asked serious questions about policy or whats happening. Recently the Transition Team disabled the zoom chat feature where reporters could even ask a question. Yeah, they did. And, you know, its fun by to see people reporting on this now and complaining about it and as if the most of the media is now suddenly remembered how to be journalists and they are going to be challenging. It was obvious that they had a policy of getting biden into the administration. And now its equally obvious to many that i talk to that they are working on getting biden out of the administration. Because its very its also very clear that biden has cognitive issues at times. And since thos progress as you t older they are not expected to improve. What it also demonstrates though, jason, to me is that you know, reporters, there arent real reporter even within most of the media where it appears that bias it and now politics trumps all. But these people never have full control over anyone or anything. In fact, historically, if you look at marxism and communism, less than 5 of the population have been actual marxist or communists at the time of actual communist takeovers. Thats the lesson of history here. There are people across media and across the democratic establishment, across the left, most americans are moderate, there are people who see these things for what they are. And, yet, their voices are, you know, have been drowned out for a long time as you know on these programs, right . The voices here they are not silent. They are just ignored and strarded. So, you know, nobody across the middle of the country, myover country as they like to call it, expects that is going to get any better. They are braced for it to get much, much worse and to be far more radical and far more progressive than anything anyone in the office of the president elect which doesnt really exist, right . Its not a real office. Jason yep. Anything they have admitted to so far. Look at the words they use you social justice doesnt mean justice for everybody it means justice for only a few people, their people. Equality doesnt mean call opportunity. The demographics of the Biden Administration dont represent the United States, which still has a population that is mostly white, more than 70 of this population by anyones count is still white. And Bidens Administration is not represented that way. Griff we have got to leave it there. Lara logan, host of lara logan has no agenda on fox nation. Will thanks for being here and weighing in and happy new years eve to you. Thank you and same to you. Rachel griff, when things break in my house you never know exactly who did it but in this case its on video. So we know exactly who did that. Jason you can just go down to home depot and get another one. It will be fine. Rachel thats right. Thanks so much, griff for that we will check in with adam klotz who is live from times square on this wonderful thief. Adam . Adam hey, good morning, guys. Yes this wonderful new years eve, the center of the universe. I know you probably want to see the ball. Its kind of pouring on be me so im covering up here a little bit before the day is over, usually a Million People would be here. Lets show our viewers so they get some perspective here on the covid spread by location. You see household gatherings, social gatherings 73. 84 . Restaurants and bars way down on the list. 1. 43 of . Corey, tell me where things stand in terms of this Supreme Court, new york Supreme Court judge asking for a compromise by monday. The last time we were in Court Earlier in the week, we brought those figures that you just mentioned to the courts attention that these were figures that Governor Cuomo himself had mentioned in his december 11th press conference. Is he the one that indicated to us that numbers are numbers. They dont lie. And we suggested to the judge forgetting the constitutionality issues issue, lets just look at the fairness of it. The state itself has admitted that restaurants are not the problem. Governor cuomo said that he also said hair salons are not the problem. They have been closed down. Now they have been allowed to open. We said to the judge if this doesnt make any sense. There is no justification from the scientific perspective, from an industry perspective. From a medical perspective. From a legal perspective to keep restaurants closed. Then closed please let them open and suggested we come back to griff if things dont go in your favor what happens to the other restaurants and bars. Obviously we slowly deteriorate. Restaurant in western new york especially in buffalo are part of the culture. To lose that culture is very discerning and we dont want to make that happen. Happy new year, griff, rachel, jason. Rachel happy new year. Jason Pay Attention to what lucas is saying about iran. Ing lucas has done some of the best reporting out there. Go to foxnews. Com you can read about it. I do worry about this anniversary with absolutely. I have got to tell you the military is preparing for the worse case scenario. Griff thats true. You raise a good point there, jason. We will be watching that of course over the weekend. It did develop very quickly last time. Another thing we will be watching and one thing im interested n hearing from you, jason, is Speaker Pelosi says that shes convinced she has already got the gavel. Now, in fairness to Speaker Pelosi she was, of course, the first female speaker of the house master at counting noses as they say on capitol hill. Here is a little bit of what she had to say about her caucus cohesion. Listen. We are very excited about having won the house. We have the gavel. The spearks gavel. We also have 132 other gavels of chairs and subcommittees. Our caucus is unified around our common think beliefs anethical g families. Thats what brings us together. Of course we have our differences in approach and some other ideas. And thats our vitality. I would not want to be a leader of a party that as rubber stamp lock step. Thats called republicans. Rachel so she says that they are united but we have patrice from the independent womens forum on earlier and she said not so fast. Take a look. Nancy pelosi really effective at raising a bottom load of money in this election cycle. She has had trouble on her hands. She has not been able to reign in the far left democrats who have pushed, you know, the defund the Police Narrative who are pushed socialism. That hurt a lot of moderate democrats this election cycle. They are going to remember that its not surprising have you some folks holding the cards pretty close to their vest right now. Rachel patrice is right. The squad is bigger. They are more influential as lara logan was telling us earlier today as well. But, also you have some other fact are toes. There are 10 members that didnt vote for her in the last congress that are coming back into the new congress. And covid. Covid is the wild card of this year. And the democrat conference, as you know, jason, has some pretty elderly members. If you lose a couple of those because they get sick or they have been exposed in some way, that could affect the votes. She has a pretty slim margin, right, jason . Jason yes, democrats have 222 members but you need to get 217 votes. 10 people returning didnt vote for her last time. Three members of her caucus have already said they are not going to vote for her. And you have people that are dealing with covid and other healthrelated issues. Its the one time in congress where you actually physically have to be there a be to be sworn . In and then the very first thing you do you have to voice vocally. You have to go to the floor and say out loud how are going to vote for for speaker. I think she has a very tough road to hoe. She has all of a sudden pulled it off in the past. Wishful thinking in part on be my part but she has a tough gauntlet. It is not as easy as she says it is. Griff yeah. It will be interesting to see. And of course also, of course, with just days to go with control of the senate hanging in the balance, based on those runoff elections in georgia, congressman Michael Waltz is speaking out. Is he winning if democrats win the speech state they are probably going to nationalize lockdowns. Here is what he said about what is at stake. Listen sorry, a quotes again. I see it every day in the house of representatives led by nancy pelosi who is completely controlled by the progressives and the squad at this point, particularly now when she needs their votes to remain speaker of the house. The first thing she is going to do isnt going to be sanctuary cities or defunding the police or their Progressive Agenda. Its going to be the lockdown power. On the senate side it will be stacking the Supreme Court so they cant overturn these laws, adding d. C. Into stayedhood so they get two more senators and just make the mountain. Phone nominally, to decline for republicans to ever come back and then they will start with their Progressive Agenda indiana. Thats will concerning if it indeed does happen, rachel. Rachel yeah, it absolutely is. He talks about lockdowns. The person leading the biden Covid Response is ezekiel emanuel. He is an absolute radical. He believes that, you know, older people are a drain on his dream of governmentrun healthcare. And that we should prioritize young people not old people because they are a drain on the system. Which is why we are seeing democrat governors not prioritize the elderly who are so vulnerable to covid. The elderly who, by the way, arent just dying of covid are could iing of loneliness and depression and isolation. So this is very serious when are biden is in office, and you have this Covid Response, i believe that the congressman is right, there is going to be more lockdowns and we will see other things happen because of ezekielial emanuel. Jason it also comes down to georgia. If Chuck Schumer gets that gavel, he is going to do what he said he is going to do. He said hey first we take georgia then we are going to take over the country. If they do that heavens forbid, look out whats happening in this country. So, all eyes will be focused on that election in georgia. Donald trump going down there to do a rally, joe bidened can will be down be there, Kamala Harris will be down there. Everybody knows that the focus of d. C. Is actually going to be in georgia come middle of the week next week. Rachel jason, d. C. Is focused on georgia, but i think the rest of the country is loving this miller i cant baldwin story which never seems to go away. There is more and more layers to this. Just recently she was speaking with the New York Times, who is doing hard work investigating, you know, her heritage. And here is what she told the New York Times. She said who is to say what you are allowed to absorb and not absorb growing up. This has been a part of my whole life. And i cant make it go away just because some people dont understand it. Where is this smoking gun. My intentions are im living my life. My life is created by my parents. My different experiences, my languages, my culture. All of this is so oextremely funny to me, you guys. Because as you know, i amex can be and spanish heritage. My mom is from spain. I was actually spent much of my childhood five years living in spain on an air force base. I dont have the accent she has. I dont even quite recognize her accent, which, to me, sounds like someone on an snl skit trying to impersonate someone with an hispanic accent she doesnt sound like a spaniard. We should have been on to this before. This story just keeps, you know, its the gift its the gift that keeps on giving. Griff it does, rachel. I teased at the beginning of this hour my spanish heritage that obviously was a joke. But heres the point about this. Its okay to be proud of any sort of spanish vacation you took or your heritage. But dont try and sell us a bag of bogus goods. And when you go on Television Shows like the today show and say how do you say cucumber . Well, thats just being dishonest. Here is a quote from the New York Times on why the woman from will woman exposed hilaria was granted anonymity says this the woman who was granted anonymity by the New York Times because she said she was scared of mr. Baldwin who agreed to take an anger Management Course in 2019 in order to dispose of charges after a fight with a man over a parking spot. And has been arrested escorted from a plane and suspended from a job as an msnbc host all in the last decade would punch her. So, you know, here is jason, i think, a story that continues as rachel points out because people are blown away by the hypocrisy and the elitism esm at the core of it. Jason they seem to think that they are going to be much cooler if they are somebody that they are not. I recognize he is an actor. But this is a person, hilaria, really hillary who she says her parents didnt know how to pronounce the name bald win. Both her parents were born and raised in the United States. Her mom is an assistant professor of medicine at harvard university. Her dad was trained at Georgetown University as an attorney and she said they had trouble pronouncing the name baldwin. I mean, its just total absolute complete lie, a facade. And they will wont fess up to it and this story just keeps on giving in the headlines. It just cracks us up. Rachel she is right to be worried about alec baldwin. Is he throwing a temper tantrum at social media. Saying its all lies. He participated in it. He had a where wedding with her flamingo themed and had fans and went on talk shows saying his wife was from spain. He knows she wasnt. All the Video Evidence is showing that she comes in and out of her accent and she herself has now admitted that she is not spanish. So, yesterday we interviewed my friend lily about this topic and she says that latinas like us you had should just be flattered. Griff also, i should as a reporter in me we have not heard from boston yet to see if they feel gypped by the heritage claim because obviously she is from boston and not my or ca my. Will. Recall nashville bombers Girlfriend Told Police he was building bombs inside an rv at his home. Police said they did not have enough evidence for a search warrant at the time. I believe the officers did everything they could legally, maybe we could have followed up more hindsight is 2020. Griff meanwhile the chilling 911 calls are released from before and after the Christmas Day explosion. Listen. There is a recording out there that is saying there is a limited time to evacuate this area. There is large bomb inside this vehicle. Oh my gosh, my entire building just fell down and its collapsing. Griff the suspect died in the explosion. Three others were hurt and dozens of buildings were damaged. Nashville has canceled its new years fireworks display out of respect to those who heard the bombing. And a doorbell camera captures the terrifying moments gunman opened fire after knocking on the wrong door. The homeowners assumed it was a Family Member at the door. When they answered the two men simultaneously started shooting. No one was struck by the gunfire. Police are asking for help in identifying the suspects in this video. And a live look at times square ahead of tonight wants new years eve ball drop. It will look a lot different from years past. The nypd telling people they are not welcome to watch the ball drop in person. Dont come. Watch it at home. It will be a spectacular television show. Next year we will all gather together and we will feel Timess Square this year dont attempt to come down and watch it. Griff while the closed to the public a number of frontline workers are invited to attend. Those are your headlines. Cant wait to watch it. Jason yes, yes. Still ahead, after shutting down schools in new york city, mayor de blasio is changing his tune. New york city Public Schools one of the safest places to be in new york city. Im confident that we can and should keep them open. Jason our next guest has been sounding the alarm all year on the impact of School Lockdowns. Memory, focus, accuracy, learning, and concentration. Try our new gummies for 30 days and see the difference. Look a look at the amazing success we have had in our schools keeping them safe. Clearly one of the safest places to be in the new york city. Im confident we can and should keep them open. Will. Rachel mayor bill de blasio earlier this week praising School Safety after months and months of keeping kids out of school. Our next guest has been sounding the alarm since the start of the pandemic about the harmful impact of school lock juns on kids and family. And now she is calling out cancel culture for silencing those who doubted the closures all along. Here to discuss New York Post columnist and parent karol markowicz. Karol, welcome to the show. Tell me why you think there was so much shaming and censorship, some of it selfcensorship about this very important debate about School Lockdowns . I think the cancel culture has perm nateed everything at this point. That was just another battle in it. The teachers europes were against schools opening and so most people on the left automatically lined up with them and decided to take that position. Whether or not are that was bad for their own kids or not. And so we had the situation where parents were afraid to speak up. I had so many readers email me i agree with you i could never actually say it. I had so many people in my own neighborhood. I live in a fairly liberal neighborhood whispering to me i also want schools to open i cant tell anybody my opinion because its so crazy. So, you know, we had this really bad situation where patients couldnt speak up for their own kids and thats really unfortunate. Rachel yeah, it really is a terrible environment for preach. But you mention the teachers unions, they are definitely aligned with the democrat party. Had a very big stake in the election. In november. How much of this do you think was about inflicting maximum economic damage and really ruining the trump economy or making sure it didnt recover before the election . Because, you know, that certainly seems like what a lot of democrat governors were doing, especially when you consider that 95 million chinese kids were, you know, going to will school the european kids were going to will school. The data was certainly there. Supporting the opening of schools and that it as safe. Was it about the election. I think absolutely it was. You saw a major shift in the way the media was covering School Openings before the election and then after. Before the election, there were so many articles, you know, cases go up as schools open. Even if schools hadnt actually opened yet as schools open. And that was a very frequent headline. But will a lot of the data was suddenly front page news. New york times the front of the atlantic. Liberals finally felt they could believe what they believed all along but believe it more openly now. You know, when i talk about cancel culture, i want to make it clear. Im not talking about somebody being mean to you on the internet. When you voice an opinion on the internet, you are going to expect some push back no matter what that opinion is. What im talking about is somebody specifically going after your job, for example, and saying, you know, this person argued on the internet they want teachers to die. And thats the kind of thing that gets you fired from your job and ruins your life and people are just like its not worth it. Rachel yeah, i mean the worst part about it is this was such an important topic for our kids. I mean, you know, the chinese were going to school but we werent all about politics all about the election. And the people who we expect to protect us teachers really were really pushing this. You know, i think you wrote a great piece. I hope that people go to the New York Post and read it because its really a comment on the culture that we are living in right now. Thank you so much, karol, for joining us this morning and happy new year. Thank you some. You too. Will. Over 6,000 flights and i always like to say we are just getting started. Now, edward, thank you so much for your service to our country. You serve for 16 years as the United States marine. You are fivetime cancer survivor. Tell us your story, what have you go gone through and specifically what lukes wings has meant to you. Good morning. Thank you for this opportunity. You know, for me, i had you know, i have survived cancer seven times now from toxic chemical exposure. And when i was connected with lukes wings, doctors told me that they were going to remove my jaw and that i would never speak or eat again. And i would probably lose my life. And when i was thinking about the cost, i was trying to figure out well, should i save that money because im not going to survive and just so my family could have more . Or should we spend this money and give myself a chance to live . And when lukes wings stepped in and was less of a decision then. And we were able to just focus on my survival and thats why i was able to do more with my life. It was people like fletcher at lukes wings allowed my family to focus on my survival and do more with my life. Jason you know, there is a lot of things you can do. But at that point in your life, you want to have your family around you. And thats what is amazing, fletcher. Tell us about how people can contribute. What they want to do. Because i have got to tell you the fox friends audience that i know, they love people like edward who are serving our nation and they are finding themselves in a difficult situation. But they just want to be together with their family and lukes wings brings them together. How can people participate and contribute . Thank you for that yeah. I have had the pleasure of getting to know edward over the years. We have flown him to cancer treatments in the morning and had him more home tore dinner with his wife. Its been an honor to getting to know you and call you a friend. Right now folks can go to our website and help us with no are spend christmas alone campaign. We are still fundraising for that lukes wings. Org. We have a huge backlog of flight requests due to the pandemic. We usually do about 1,000 flights a year in 2021 we hope to do 2,000 flights. I would call to call all those families and say that we are going to book those flights for them and we have the means to do so just as soon as they get vaccinated. Any help we can get would be wonderful. The great thing about us is that a very small donation goes a long way. We only need to raise 350 today. And we can book a flight tomorrow. So, you know any little bit helps thank god for your audience and you guys. Thank you in advance for any support you give us. Jason sure. Edward, i have only got about 20 seconds here. But whats your new years message to america . What would you like to share . You know, people like me, what you consider disabled veterans are very capable people. I have made the decision to be more capable because of the challenges i have overcome. And lukes wings didnt do that for me. They gave me the space to do it for myself. So, if you support lukes wings, thats what you are doing. You are giving people like me room to do it for myself and you are helping people like lake fletcher find more people like me. There is a population of us out there and support lukes wings to make more of that happen. Jason yeah. You know, oftentimes you think i have got problems and challenges. And then you hear an inspirational story like that. Good for you, god bless you. Thank you. Vase jays foxandfriends. Com to learn more thank you edward and fletcher. God bless you. Happy new year. And its a year unlike any year we have ever had can you tell me a little bit about whats going into this year and how its different . Whats amazing is the tradition lee mains the same. We will have the ball dropping and although you will see fewer people in times square we will be filled with more hope than ever before as we get to 20121. When that ball drops behind us other a billion people over the world will be counting down together the final seconds. There is no moment like it where the entire world counts town with times square. Wardrobe malfunction. That happens. Few people being here, so used to a Million People being out here. Instead its going to be a few dozen. How did we choose who they were and i know and they are usually really deserving folks. Absolutely. We wanted to celebrate our heroes of 020 and their families. These are First Responders, front line and essential workers who sacrifice so much to provide care and support for our communities and they represent the same families throughout our country and all over the world who have sacrificed in 2020 to protect us and to help their communities. We celebrate them tonight. Adam and as far as the folks at home, if youre here its going to feel different but a really good show if people are watching around the world. Er year hundreds of millions of americans and people around the world watch within times square safely from heir home. They will be doing the same thing this year. They will be seeing the same stories mirrored and those families are here with us in times square tonight. So, unlike every other year, we are all going to get together and separate and looking forward to 2021. Were ready. Adam im running out of time with you and my hands are full. There is something i have to show you. I showed you a little bit ago. Thats a photo, right . Who knew. That was a year ago. I just showed him imyou a photo of you and i up here a year ago. The hope in our eyes little did we know the year that was about to come. I had no idea but we made it. Adam we were so innocent these beautiful fools. Do you feel good about 2021. Im really filled with yes. I wish everyone a wonderful new year. When will gloria gain another sings i will survive. Adam i also feel good about 2021. Guys, i will throw it the back out to you. Rachel adam, i have a question for you, can you hear me . Adam yeah, i can hear you. Rachel all right, adam, im glad there are First Responders there. I know you were there last year. I know jeffs job to make it sound like its going to be really fun. Do you really think without the Million People there, without that energy that its going to be just as fun as last year . Adam i mean, who is to say . I think it can be just as fun. I think if you are watching from home it can be just as funnel. You are trying to will kick off 2021 on the wrong foot . Im not going to say that. [laughter] rachel no, i dont want you to say that. Adam we are excited this year is over. And we are going to celebrate the best we can. Rach awesome. Adam im a politician. With our families. Griff master job. Will waiting for Gloria Gaynor to sing i will survive. Adam, thank you so much. Still ahead a campaign to recall californias governor suddenly flush with cash. We are back with quick headlines. A court said set to decide today on be a controversial dinein curfew in austin, texas. The city want to limit dinefood Service Hours from 6 00 a. M. To 2 30 p. M. Until january 3rd. The curfew has been opposed wide Governor Greg Abbott and the grand reopening of the Staten Island bar is called off after its Liquor License is suspended. The owners of macks public house say they are can refusing to comply with restrictions despite thousands of dollars of fines and a shutdown order from the health department. Griff . All right, rachel, thanks. Momentum is buildings and the push to remove California Governor Gavin Newsom from office. The group behind the recall recently raked in 600,000ed as the list of petition signatures grows by the day. So what is their gripe with gavin newsom . Lets ask the man who challenged him for the governors chair in 201 john cox. Happy new years eve to you. Good see you. Happy new year to you, griff, great to be with you. Griff rescue california is getting closer to the 1. 5 million signatures to recall the governor. Absolutely. Griff why are they doing this . This. This governor has not responded well to the pandemic and not dealt with the problems come into office, housing crisis. Homeless crisis. Fires, black outs and, of course, the pandemic. I will give you one fact, griff, and that is disney world has been open since july in florida, no outbreaks, no problems, people are actually making some money down there. They are actually feeding their families. Here, disney land is still shut down and closed. No possible reopening date indicated there. The Southern California area there is being shut down for restaurants, hotels. These are real jobs. These are real Small Businesses. Pot shops are open. Strip clubs are open. Churches and Small Businesses have been literally just shut down looking at incon sis ten think. Governor rules by fear the more he shuts things down the worse it gets. Im a Small Businessman i solve problems. This governor doesnt solve problems. He listens to the politic was of the moment and act accordingly thats not working for california. Governor in crisis. The last time a successful recall happened in 2003 democratic governor gray davis was recalled during the energy crisis. Do you see parallels here . Oh, absolutely. We had 25,000 separate plaqueouts last august when it was hot and humid in Southern California people wanted to use their air conditioners but we didnt have enough power. Think about that a second, griff. A lot has happened since 2003. A lot of tech no. A lot of growth. And we still have blackouts in this state. He hasnt dealt with the fires. He hasnt dealt with homelessness, which is really ruining a lot of our great cities and our tourism. What we need is solutions, griff. And nobody really sees that this governor is interested in solutions. He is interested in politics. Our kids arent in school right now because the union bosses are tell them that they dont want to return police fire front lines working but the teachers arent. I know there is a lot of teachers in the state that want to get back to school but the schools are still shut down. Griff john, let me ask you things needed what a recall effort needs is cash. We just saw irvine based Consulting Firm give half a million dollars. Where did the sort stand. How likely do you think ultimately this will be . Let me tell you there is a lot of money in this state. There is a lot of successful people who are watch this state crumble. You have had so many businesses leave. Now its become a torrent oracle, hewlett packard, charles schwab. I can name dozens that have left the state along with a lot of people. I think a lot of business people, a lot of people successful in this state are saying to themselves this has gone on too long. This governor is just not going to improve and i could have told them that a couple years ago. I mean, he ran San Francisco into the ground he is now running california into the ground. The recall is going to happen, i think. People are going to row move people going to remove this governor and get solutions. Griff you say its going to happen. Im going to ask you john cox since you run for governor before. The recall before led to Arnold Schwarz being the governor will you put your hat in the ring . I want solutions for the problems of the state, griff. Thats what i ran on in 2018. The cost of how fasting cost of housing, providing water for people. Better schools. Those issues are still there today and gotten worse so the answer is yes. The answer is yes i will probably be there putting forth these solutions to problems. We have got to get rid of the politics and really focus on what works, griff, and deliver a better quality of life for the people of this state. We deserve it. And, frankly, its important for the whole country. This is the largest state in the country. The fifth largest economy in the world. We have got to get california back on track. Griff all right. Well, we dont know what 2021 will hold for us in the future. But possibly another run by john cox for governor. Happy new years eve to you. Happy new years to you. Griff coming up where do we stand with 2,000 relief for the American People . Senator Lindsey Graham is on deck with a bigger check and has an update on where things stand this morning. That, coming up. Go, go go big or go home go, go go big or go home go, go when it comes to autism, finding the right words can be tough. Finding understanding doesnt have to be. Together, we can create a kinder, more inclusive world for the millions of people on the autism spectrum. Jason a live look at times square in new york city where dozens of people will gather to watch and ring in the new year welcome to fox friends its the 8 00 hour we got Griff Jenkins and myself and rachel camposduffy. But were waiting for , there it is sidney, australia, ringing in the 2021 new year. I was actually there when we ran g in the year 2000 youre sitting there with flashlights wondering if y2k was taking everything down, but we had the extra bottled water but we had to wait for 2020 for that to actually happen but 2021 in sidney, australia great place to celebrate the new year but back here in the United States, theres a lot happening. Griff yeah, indeed happy new years eve to you guys thats wild, kangaroos and koala bears down under, and ill tell you, the last show of 2020 on fox friends, we are going to do our duty to get you through this final hour but im ready, rachel, for 2021 what about you . Rachel i am ready too happy new year to both of you such an honor to be filling in for my friend ainsley this morning and to spend this last morning of 2020 with you, so happy new year to all of our audience, and weve got a lot of news ahead today. Griff we sure do, and here just a block away on capitol hill the standoff over the Coronavirus Relief continues senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell slamming the brakes on 2,000 checks for millions of americans. Rachel the Kentucky Republican saying the proposal has no realistic path to passing in the senate. Jason Lucas Tomlinson is live in d. C. With more as the measure sits in limbo. Lucas whats the latest . Good morning guys new years greetings from the Senate Majority leader accusing nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer of trying to pull a fast one on this president and the American People and here is how they responded. Mcconnell should bring both measures up for a vote and let the chips fall where they may. We urge Mitch Mcconnell to stop his obstruction. We urge republicans in the senate to encourage him to do so. Reporter members of congress ringing in the new year here in washington. The Senate Debating two major funding bills for that stimulus increase and defense today. Both to override the president s veto on that massive defense bill could come tomorrow or saturday but must be done by noon sunday because thats when the 116th Congress Ends clearing the books on all legislation. Its not often you hear Bernie Sanders saying hes in lockstep with this president , sanders says hes right on bumping up the 2,000 checks. Here is what he told bret baier last night on special report. All that i am asking of Mitch Mcconnell, give us a bump. He wants to announce that vote now. He can have his vote on the defense override in five minutes. Reporter sunday also marks the one Year Anniversary of the u. S. Killing of irans most powerful general, iran vowed revenge and President Trump returning to washington today cutting his florida trip short. Were not sure why. Griff, jason, rachel, happy new year. Jason lucas happy new year to you as well. Were honored now to have South Carolina gop senator Lindsey Graham, chairman graham. Chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee. Senator happy new year. I want to get your comment first and foremost on what lucas talked about with iran. Coming up on january 3, the anniversary of the killing of soulemani, the president returning to d. C. , weve had the b52 flyovers whats the latest and what are you concerned about . Well, the ayatollah publicly said he wants revenge against those who killed soulemani one of the great terrorists of our time who has a lot of american blood on his hands so President Trump took him out last year the Year Anniversary is coming were taking these threats seriously to the iranians if youre going to try to do something on President Trumps watch, you better be ready for a big push back. So be careful what you do with trump. Griff senator graham, let me shift back to the capitol hill standoff and where things stand with the 2,000 stimulus checks for the American People. When President Trump first made that push, everyone said no way that happens. Then, of course, the house didnt and now its sort of sitting in limbo with majority leader mcconnell who says theres no realistic path forward. Where do you see things standing well, i think if you had a standalone vote on the 2,000 check, it might pass. Here is the facts. 70 of republicans dont want to go to 2,000. They think its a 430 billion cost to the treasury. They think its an in efficient way of giving money to people who are hurting because a lot of people making 75,000 or less havent been out of work, but im with the president on this. I am in South Carolina. Our economy is really hurting here, so mcconnell is right. Theres no way to get a vote by january 3. The new Congress Begins at noon, january 3, so the new congress, you could get a vote and here is what id like. Id like a standalone vote in the new congress on the 2,000 check. We have seven republicans who have already said they would vote for it. We need five more. I think if we had the vote we would get there but i want to vote on repealing section 230. The untold story is that democrats are in the pocket of big tech. President trump wants three things. A commission to investigate fraud. 2,000 checks, and to repeal section 230. Im urging senator mcconnell to give a standalone vote in the new congress after january 3 on all three measures and i would predict that if you had a standalone vote on the 2,000 check, its better than 50 50 it would pass. Griff just real quickly, senator, sorry, rachel one followup on that. So if you do the standalone, what about the fiscal conservative aspect of this . Youve heard some conservatives talking about you just cant add 200 or 300, 400 billion to the federal debt. Well its 400 billion. Theyre not wrong to be concerned about the expense. Theyre not wrong to be concerned by the fact that this is not the most efficient way. There are a lot of people make 75,000 or less a year that work for government that havent been laid off one day, but ive seen with my own eyes the destruction of Small Businesses in South Carolina. I am with President Trump on this. I think a family of four, if they got 8,000 dollars, it would help our economy. I think they need the 8,000, and if the vaccine is on the way , i cant wait to get here in large numbers but until then our economy is hanging by a thread in South Carolina, so to my fiscal conservative friends, i understand your argument but i think the facts on the ground throughout the country would require us to do more than 600. 600 is not enough. 2,000 is about right in my opinion, and im willing to vote and here is what i want senator mcconnell and democrats to do. Give us a vote on three things, not one thing. Repealing section 230. A commission to investigate fraud in this election, and a vote on a 2,000 check. Rachel well well see if the democrats want to do that. Im going to move on to another topic your colleague senator josh hawley says on january 6 hes going to object to the Electoral College certification of joe biden. I want to play you a clip of why he says hes doing it and get your reaction on the other side. I dont recall hearing the democrats make any such outrageous claims when they were the ones who were objecting during the Electoral College certification in 2004 and 2016. Democrats have done this for years in order to raise concerns about election integrity. Now when republicans, 74 million americans have concerns about election integrity, were supposed to just sit down and shut up in the election process we had unprecedented interference from the biggest, most powerful corporations in the history of the world. The big tech corporations all in favor of joe biden, censorship like we have never seen before. Weve had no congressional investigation of the fraud. We need it. Weve had no congressional action. We need that to protect our election going forward, so, im going to make all of these points and try to force a debate about all of these points. Rachel what do you say, senator he has every right to do that, Barbara Boxer did this i think in 2004. Youve got to remember john kerry lost to ohio by less than 100,000 votes. She did what senator hawley is doing she objected to the process in ohio, claimed that the election in ohio wasnt fair she made her case, and she got one vote, her vote. So senator hawley has every right to object but its another thing to overturn an election of another state, the senator from South Carolina. I will listen to what he has to say about pennsylvania or any other state but youre going to have to prove to me that the allegations youre making are real. If dead people were voting i want their names. If you are going to retry the case in the senate, thats already been tried in the federal courts itll be hard for me to basically take over the federal courts role but ill listen and well see how it comes out. I know what happened with Barbara Boxer. She made these objections and she got one vote, her vote. I look forward to seeing what senator hawley has to say. Jason senator i want to ask you about georgia but i want to put it in the context of the 2,000. I dont understand why the senate cant have a standalone vote on the 2,000, but couple it with some spending cuts. We always talk about giving more money, spending more money, and there are people in need but why cant you also couple that bill with a bunch of cuts and say okay, senators, particularly democrats, make a choice and lets cut 100 billion from spending. I wish that would, i think that would make a difference to the people in georgia, and i know youre going to be on the campaign trail with senator perdue later today. Tell us about georgia. Well number one if we lose georgia, this bill is going to seem really cheap, because if we lose the senate, and they have control of the house and the senate and the white house, theyre going to send over a monster of a bill, and will make this bill look cheap so if you want to save america, if you want to save free enterprise, you want to keep the Supreme Court at nine, not at 13, you want to deny Illegal Immigrants free healthcare, you want to keep the border secure, win georgia. If we lose georgia everything goes by the wayside. Yes, offsets is what youre saying, jason. If you had a bill for 2,000 checks and youre trying to cut spending at other places to pay for it, count me in for that. The democrats dont want that. President trump is not arguing for offsets, so between now and january 3, jason, we dont have enough time because people can object, but in the new congress, thats a hell of an idea. Why dont we do this. Why dont we have a standalone vote on 2,000 checks and a vote to pay for it by cutting other areas of the government so that is paid for. Thats a good idea. Jason amen. Do it. Griff senator, jason mentioned youre going down to georgia. Go to georgia and vote. Griff well youre going down to campaign. I want to ask you about whats happening on monday. President elect biden will be campaigning in georgia on the same day President Trump has a rally but yet, President Trump , as we saw yesterday, is calling on governor kemp, the republican georgia governor, to resign because hes an obstructionsist. How complicated has this gotten and do you fear that the president is hurting the republicans chances in the peach state . The only way were going to win georgia is for President Trump to go to georgia and tell his people, we kind of got screw ed down here, but the best way for revenge is to make sure that perdue and loeffler win. I want the president to go to georgia and tell every republican in georgia, every conservative, every trump vote, you need to get out and vote as if i were on the ballot because of we lose the senate theyre going to destroy his legacy. Theyre going to go to open borders, have free healthcare for Illegal Immigrants and pack the courts. We got to conserve the majority thanks to President Trump. Theyre going to change all that and investigate his family in perpetuity and if we have 52 republicans we can shutdown the socialist agenda. We can preserve his legacy, so he needs to show up and he needs to remind people that georgia, how georgia votes for the u. S. Senate will determine what kind of country we have. Rachel yeah, definitely, the direction of the entire country is on the line and a lot at stake on tuesday, in georgia. Senator thank you so much for joining us this morning. Really appreciate you making time for us. Thank you, ill be in gainsville, georgia at 3 00, come see me. Griff all right well stay tuned and keep you posted thank you, sir. Happy new years eve. Turning to your headlines the special election for louisiana congressmanelect luke letlowes seat is set for march 20 who passed away this weekdays before he was set to be sworn in. Doctors say he died from a heart attack during a coronavirus related procedure. The march special election is expected to also feature the race to replace democrat senator richmond whose leaving for a post in joe Bidens Administration. A Border Crossing is temporarily shutdown. Border agents say dozens of cuban Asylum Seekers tried to enter the u. S. Agents closed the port of entry between juarez, mexico, and el paso, texas and this comes as u. S. Authorities consider changing their policy towards Asylum Seekers. Former i. C. E. Director tom homan joined fox friends earlier saying bidens policies will cause a spike in Border Crossings. When you say you want hundreds of thousands of Asylum Seekers in the United States, when data clearly shows 90 dont qualify, they just get released and wait illegally in the country for next amnesty, those type of promises you made who wouldnt want to come to the United States. Griff bidens immigration plans include stopping pro connection of the border wall and a moratorium on deportations. And this story, barstool sports founder dave portnoy lending a helping hand to struggling businesses on lockdown. Hey, connie this is dave from barstool sports. You guys have been around forever, we want to help. Thank you so much griff amazing work portnoy is doing he started a fund to keep Small Businesses open and afloat connie roger whose almost had to close her restaurant joined fox friends earlier this morning saying how much the help meant to her. Watch. If it wasnt for him, i would have had to close my business after 50 years, my mom passed in january. Dave is my guardian angel, and i just hope that he would give this hunt to other Small Business owners. Griff portnoys fund has raised nearly 12 million. And those are your headlines. Its a great story at the end of 2020 what hes doing to help businesses. Jason no, i love stories like that. Well stick with us because coming up, joey jones weighs in on the voting power of the military, ahead of the georgia runoff. Thats next. Its a video everybody is talking about this morning, more on this postgame coming up , oh, ouch oops, america putting iran on notice that its coming up, we want to talk about it, stay with us here on fox friends. Each febreze car vent clip gives you up to 30 days of fresh air. So, you can have open window freshness. Even with all the windows up. Enjoy fresh, any time, with febreze. Jason america putting iran on notice flyingb52 bombers over the persian gulf as military officials fear potential o tacks against americans. It comes ahead of the january 3 anniversary of the u. S. Killing irans most powerful general, soleimani. In a drone strike in baghdad just last year, january 3. Moments ago, irans foreign minister tweeting, instead of fighting covid in u. S. , donald trump and cohorts waste billions to flight b 52 and send to our region intelligence from iraq indicate plots of fabricate free tech for war, iran doesnt seek war but will openly and directly defend its people, security, and vital interest. Fox news contributor and retired marine veteran joey jones joins us now. Thanks for your service to our country, we cant thank you enough for that but the United States military has been repositioning itself in what appears to me to be a defensive posture, b 52 bombers, strike groups, a carrier, i mean, weve got a lot of assets that we could deploy if we needed to but they are repositioning themselves and i think taking this threat very seriously. How do you read the situation . You know, the funny thing about that statement is they dont openly or directly do anything when it comes to military action. They supply amunitions and training to malitia all over the region, they deny it, they dont openly do it but we all know they do. I think even when soleimani was killed he was with one of these malitia leaders that was killed as well so the problem with iran is theyre not honest brokers and President Trump has forced them to kind of come into the sunlight a little bit. We have more allies in the region now, especially with israel and the different accords than weve ever had and weve got economic influence that we havent had in a while and we have an opportunity to kind of, you know, allow this region to be more selfdetermined by making iran and some of the other bad actors in the region put on notice. Jason when i was in congress i do know there were a number of briefings i participated in. Anniversaries are really important to these people and there has been a lot of chatter and there is an increased amount of concern, Lucas Tomlinson has done some of the best reporting on this and i think there is a worry though, that january 3, being the anniversary of the killing of soleimani, that they would actually take some action here. Hopefully they dont, because i think donald trump would take care of them in a hurry, but thats the concern. Yeah, you know, in an ideological war which is exactly what were fighting a war where a belief that the west has no president in the region that the caliphate exists and things of this nature, anniversaries hold a little bit of a bigger presence, the idea that anyone is killed in action especially by the u. S. Becomes a marter and they use that as a rallying cry for young impressionable and otherwise desperate people. I mean, these are countries that dont treat their people well. Theyre countries that have a lot of economic disparity from the top to bottom and they use these things to rally, you know, their troops and their whatever it may be whatever you may call them depending on where youre talking about. Irans presence in iraq is a big problem for us. We went to war there. We spent a lot of money, blood, and treasure there to give iraq a chance to not be a place where terrorists like iran harbor, and so we have a stake in the game and we dont want them there. They dont really have a place there, and thats a big problem for us and i think President Trump knows that and pushes back we can do it without having troops there and thats a Pretty Amazing thing too. Jason i do believe in peace through strength and i know donald trump does as well, and kill one american, and i cant imagine the reign that would come down on iran. Joey i want to ask you real quick ive only got about 20 seconds or so. The military in georgia can really sway this race if they show up and vote. You know, the military is another block of people that arent from georgia but they live there for a small time but ill tell you the military now, especially their Family Members, they dont identify as a single military block. They identify with other aspects of their life so it doesnt surprise me if some will vote for joe biden for other reasons and definitely georgians want republican senators and i think many of the military do as well. Jason i hope they get up and vote and do that patriotic duty. They almost always do. Joey jones, happy new year and thank you so much for your service to our country. Thank you. Jason still ahead the cancel culture mindset now influencing school curriculum. Our next guest takes a look at the impact that has on our kids, after the break. The dow finished at another record high yesterday, up 73 points, all three major indexes grew this year, despite the pandemic. Finally, zero. Thats how many tickets are available for new years eve tonight at disney world. Disney says all four of its theme parks are completely booked. Rachel . Rachel thank you, griff. Well, cancel culture comes to the classroom, in a new oped our next guest says progressive activists are looking to perge classic works of literature from School Curriculums under the slogan of disrupt text. Here with more wall street journal columnist megan cox cur dan. Welcome. Ive heard of American Classics also being banned, so whats driving this . Is it all Critical Race Theory . Well yeah, thats a good summation of whats going on. Yeah, these people are interested in displacing, discrediting and if they can, sort of banishing works from what they call the white canon, and this is where, i mean, there are so many points at which we have to dispute their assertions here. The idea of the canon of literature which is the great production of art and imagination that belongs to all of humanity the idea that it belongs to any single racial group so what they want to do if possible is to get both taken out of the curriculum and if not successful with that then the idea is in the classroom to subvert them. Rachel in your piece you wrote about a teacher at Lawrence Public School in massachusetts who was actually online bragging about getting the odyssey removed from her class or her school, but we reach out to the school. Theyre saying its not true. Im going to read the statement from the school they gave that to us last night. They are saying okay the odyssey has not been banned or removed from the curriculum which would fly in the face of the great work our educators do every day to give students an essential broad based Literary Foundation and this means teaching both the classic canon and contemporary works. Your response . Well, i mean, thats wonderful, but thats kind of incredible because i reached out to the school repeatedly to the schools, to the media guys at the school, to the teacher herself, to the english department, for various reasons i know they received my communicatin. I received nothing except a snip py response from the teacher saying my request for more information was invasive. So, thats nice, but they were not exactly forthcoming. Its great they are expressing some interest in the odyssey now , and also, i would like to say, you know, why would somebody post Something Like that some why would a teacher groan publicly which is what twitter is, a public forum, that proud to say we managed to get the odyssey off the curriculum . I dont know you tell me, Lawrence School system. Rachel well sure. The Public School can require it and the teacher can do whatever she wants in the classroom ultimately. Let me get to what are children losing when they dont read these beautiful classics . Right, well, i think one of the things that is happening with this presentation of books, again, with this sub version of books is that they go from being essentially an artform, into being a kind of crude demonstration of political, you know, kind of ugly political character, so a child whose exposed, i mean you could teach the odyssey, lets say, as one of the foundational stories one of the great adventure stories of all Human History on which there is, you know, theres art and metaphor and, you know, stories of other kinds that are all based on the odyssey or draw from the odyssey and you can teach that to children and then they walk around and they are equipped with some understanding of this culture that has, that theyre in, or you can teach it as a story of, you know, massogeny, which is just a horrible miss reading in my opinion. Rachel right they lose that frame of reference for really who we are. I encourage parents as i parent myself to fight back against this kind of bookbanning. Our children need to be exposed to the classic and i also encourage people to read your book right behind you, the en handted hour i have that book and i love it and its very good for parents and thanks for joining us megan cox gurdon, and we appreciate your insight into this very important topic for our children. Thank you. Lovely to talk to you rachel , goodbye. Rachel still ahead the congress , the new congress convenes on sunday, but does Speaker Pelosi have the votes to keep her gavel . Plus, bidens Transition Team disables the zoom chat function, where they typically take questions from reporters. So what will coverage and transparency from the biden Team Look Like in 2021 . Well talk to byron york next on that. We are very excited about having won the house. We have the gavel. The speakers gavel and we also have 132 other gavels of chairs and subcommittees. Our caucus is unified. Of course we have our difference s in approach and some other ideas, and thats our vitality. I would not want to be a leader of a party that was rubber stamp , lockstep. Thats called republicans. Griff and thats nancy pelosi sounding pretty confident in her future as speaker of the house despite facing a narrow path to keep the roll ahead of sundays vote, Fox News Contributor byron york is here to react, byron, good morning. Happy new years eve to you. Looks like the speaker may have a tougher time this time keeping that gavel. You know, i think there was just a little bluster in what she was saying, because she is going to have a difficult time. There are a few logistical things to remember about this vote on sunday for the speaker. Remember this year, because of coronavirus, the house passed a rule where a lot of members could vote remotely. That rule will not be in effect. The only members who can vote in this election for speaker are the ones who physically come to the House Chamber and cast a vote. Also, the speakers elected by the whole house, and so to win, pelosi has to get 50 plus one of all of the votes and thats where her very narrow democratic majority comes in. She only has, it appears, about 222 votes. Its possible she could lose a few and still be speaker, but you have to remember, 15 democrats last time around, voted against her for speaker and 10 of those democrats are still in office this year, so shes got to get some of those people who voted against her once to support her this time. Griff thats a great point, byron because you already have a few democrats and prominent ones , abigail spanburger, conor lamb, jerry golden all saying theyre going to vote no when that vote comes and that sort of counting, if you will, certainly should perhaps give the speaker a bit of pause before she blusters about taking the gavel back. Well, she specializes in counting votes and i think to be fair in the sound bite that she just played, we just played, she could be interpreted as speaking about democrats who have the gavel and have the chairman ship and all that. She thinks shes going to get it i think most democrats think shes going to win again as well , but its going to be very narrow and theres one other thing to consider about this. A number of democrats are increasingly unhappy with the old out of touch nature of their leadership. Nancy pelosi is 80 years old. The number two steny hoyer is 80 years old. The number three James Clyburn is 80 years old. This is a very old leadership. Pelosi whose tried to give some leadership positions to some younger members but still, the fact is, the top three who are in control of everything have been there an incredibly long time. Griff speaking of being in control, byron, you and i are reporters and i want to change the topic and talk about president elect joe bidens Transition Team is in control of the chat function on the zoom calls where reporters have been pressing them to take more questions, and now theres no chat function. What do we expect under a Biden Administration in 2021 . You know, i think theres going to be a huge change in dealings with the press between the trump adminitration and the Biden Administration and its not going to be as happy as a number of reporters seem to believe. Obviously, reporters for years have complained about President Trumps attacks on the press, calling them fake news and the enemy of the people and Everything Else but the fact is the president himself, for most of his time in office, was incredibly accessible to reporters. There were a lot of times there were no white house briefings at all. No spokesmen to say anything because the president himself was the one who was talking to reporters, all the time, all those times going out to the helicopter coming into the briefing room, a very very accessible president. Now, joe biden has had very controlled press events where he has a list of one, two, or three people who will be allowed to ask questions, and then boom, its over, and what you were talking about now about the zoom calls is his staff is apparently doing it the same way just a very few questions and over and out. Griff well fortunately we will have the Washington Examiner chief political correspond entered byron york and Others Holding him accountable. Happy new years eve, friend. Thank you, griff. Griff thanks, by on. Rachel . Rachel thank you, griff. Well, turning now to your headlines. The chief says officers didnt have enough evidence for a search warrant at the time. I believe our officers did everything they could legally. Maybe we could have followed up more, hindsight is 20 20. Rachel meanwhile the chilling 911 calls are released before and after the Christmas Day explosion. Listen. Theres a recording out there saying theres a limited time to evacuate this area. Theres a large bomb inside this vehicle. Oh, my god, my entire building just fell down and its collapsing. Rachel the suspect died in the explosion.
