Delay the election until people can properly, securely and safely vote . He asked. He clarified the tweet at the white house. I dont want to delay. I want to have the election. But i also dont want to have to wait for three months and then find out that the ballots are all missing and the election doesnt mean anything. The Biden Campaign seeing an opportunity was quick to respond. It is really despicable. Vice President Biden warned back in april though that this is something that donald trump would try to do. And do you know what the response from the Trump Campaign was . They told us that Vice President was practicing in conspiracy theories. Nevada 6700 ballots rejected because didnt have signatures. Pennsylvanias primary last month late ballots considered disqualified. In wisconsins primary, this is in april. 23,000 ballots were thrown out because they missed at least one line in the form. That was the marginal of victory for donald trump in 2016. So if you are concerned about election integrity, you can train coming down the tracks if there are pushed mailin ballots and thats the point is he trying to make. Ainsley a lot of americans dont trust the postal system because they have had budget cuts or problems in the last decade or however it has been. Everyone know fuss go in person to vote. You know your vote is counted. Pete correct. Ainsley if you try to mail something, in there is a big chance its not going to get to the folks counting these ballots. If you dont believe me watch the cbs report. Cbs is warning of a disaster after they did this vote by mail experiment. And it revealed potential problems within the postal voting system. So what happened is they sent out 100 mock ballots this reporter did to a post office box at the post office. And that post office box was for cbs this morning. Set it up to represent a local election office. They mailed out 100 ballots. Same size envelope, same class of mail as a real ballot. And listen to what happened. 97 out of the 100 did come back but three of them were missing. So 3 missing. Watch this. In the following week, we checked our po box for the results. Mail pick up notice. When we went to collect everything though. Nothing . No. Most of our votes seemed to be lost. Thats all i have back there right now. Are you sure . You are totally sure . So of our 100 ballots, 97 arrived. Which sounds pretty good unless you consider the fact that that means 3 people who tried to vote by mail in our mock election were, in fact, disenfranchised by mail. Brian there were small elections going on in new york and new jersey. They are still counting the ballots. Just think about this. If you can get to target. If you can get to home depot. If you have been doing your food shopping. Dont tell me you are too concerned about your health to go to vote there are people that are concerned like they have never been before. I get it. There should be accommodations there just like there should be some type of proof handy cap sticker, some type of proof. Pete request absentee ballot. Brian just use logic. Dont wait for cbs to do a report which ended up proving that trump is right. Just use logic. You sit in your house. There is five ballots for your family. Three of your kids 18 to 21. Or kids grab their parents ballot and send it. Cant we have this moment to vote for one candidate every four years and show up and put a ballot in without licking an envelope or pressing on a stamp. What a mess if thats nationwide if they push ballots out to these voter roles many of which are outdated anyway. We will get update from the National Hurricane center at 8 00 a. M. Became a hurricane at 8 00 last night. Moving to the bahamas. There sat potential to strengthen to a category 2 hurricane as it moves through very warm water of the bahamas. The problem is we have upper level winds that are going to try to keep this from strengthening so both of those things are going to add to our question marks as to how close and what intensity we are talking about as it approaches florida. But what i can tell you is we have hurricane warnings in effect for the bahamas, so not only Hurricane Force winds but storm surge and flash flooding are going to be a problem over the next 12 to 24 hours. And then it comes close to florida. Now, this track right now has the core of the strongest winds offshore. Thats a good case scenario. However, because we are dealing with a lot of variables, upper level winds, warm water, when does it make that northern curve . How fast does it make that northern curve . We have a few question marks. The bottom line is if you live from florida all the way up to maine, you need to be paying close attention to this storm. We think the closest impact will be coastal North Carolina on tuesday and then perhaps cape cod and the islands heading into tuesday night and wednesday. So, watching this very carefully. You get ballots sent to an address where the person no longer lives there. And, yet, those ballots are often returned with a vote cast. You know, in paterson, new jersey, had you 800 ballots bundled together and returned to election officials. Several people indicted in king county washington, 13,000 ballots were listed as undeliverable. 300,000 ballots were unknown. This is, again, ripe for Election Fraud and the evidence demonstrates it. It would be a violation of the separation of powers if a judge suddenly steps down from the bench, disrobed and decides to become a prosecutor. And im so glad that he was so featured in that documentary because its going to have his story in time and perpetuity so for and more people can discover it. Representative jones made a very good point in highlighting that double standard and hypocrisy. So when i decided to start supporting the president , i was supporting the First Step Act that freed a lot of criminals that were in prison for nonviolent offenses. 91 of whom were africanamerican. I was voting for permanently funding historically black colleges and universities. Right . This is what the president has done. When i decided to start supporting the president this is things actually done. I write about this always a soldier chapter called kanye effect why black democrats are leaving democrats behind. We are leaving them behind because we know they traded us for Illegal Immigrants and standing up against this old structure that decides to tell us who we are or to smear us or to call us drifters or whatever just because we are not democrats. Thats the reason why i wrote always a soldier. Ainsley do you think that there are a lot of africanamericans that are supporting President Trump more so than we know and they just are afraid to talk about it . There was a recent study that was out and said that 62 of americans dont want to talk about who they are voting for right now. Yeah. I think that i think there are a lot of black americans that are out there that are supporting the president and other republican candidates and the thing about it is that what these people. To do black entertainers athletes, actors, whatever they want to shame people for their vote. Particularly black people that support the president. So i think that there is a large amount of people that are out there that are just staying silent that will pull the lever. What i will also say and i write about this in always a soldier as well. Is that there are black Trump Supporters that have faced actual physical violence. I write about multiple examples of this. And that is another thing that people are weary about as well. These are africanamerican black Trump Supporters that were physically attacked for wearing make America Great again caps. Were physically attacked for wearing clothing that supports the president. South carolina and North Carolina need to monitor this system, brian, ainsley and pete and all of you if you live along the east coast from south florida to maine, you need to be watching isaias because it became a hurricane last night. Theres the possibility it actually might strengthen in the next 12 to 24 hours as it makes its way across the bahamas. This gfs model actually has it making an impact to South Carolina and just kind of moving inland along the coast from the weekend up towards monday and tuesday. So, were going to have to really watch things over the next 24 to 48 hours to really get an accurate forecast. There is a lot of the variables we are watching in terms of computer models. The red shaded line here is the actual National Hurricane center forecast. And the worst of the core of the winds remain offshore until we come close to the carolinas. So thats when we are going to have to really take a look at it. I think for now we can safely say that the east coast of florida. Even though you are not out of the woods it more and more looks like the core of the strongest winds will remain offshore. You are still going to get the potential for Tropical Storm force winds some storm surge and some heavy rainfall for florida and then as we get into the latter part of the weekend, the carolinas need to monitor the storm. But, this is going to be a hurricane for the next several days and maybe even strengthen in the next 12 to 24 hours. We will keep you posted. Brian, pete, and ainsley, back to you. What we saw is we saw a robust contingent of Oregon State Police come into the area yesterday afternoon together with Portland Police bureau. They cleaned out the parks across the street from the courthouse and what we saw overnight is almost little to no criminal activity. And that really is how it should be. It reinforces the principle if you work with federal state and local Law Enforcement Work Together we can protect our communities. We can secure our communities. We can secure federal properties and protect Law Enforcement officers. This is what we have been asking for or over 60 days and im glad oregon and portland has finally accepted up to the challenge. Brian you the way i understand it there were 100 state troopers there guarding and you guys were standing by should something go wrong. All you asked ted wheeler to do is use his state police to guard federal buildings. Whehe wouldnt, had you no choi. The mayor makes you the bad guy and now you sit there now finally the governor saw that you werent backing down and did what you asked him to do all along. Does that feel good to a degree . Well, brian, it certainly reinforce what is we have been saying all along we are going to continue to courthouse. Thats our job and responsibility. We are not backing away from that what we have been asking portland and oregon to do to police city streets, police city parks. Do their jobs and arrest individuals that are committing criminal acts. And finally, after over 60 days. They have decided to step up and do their job. Unfortunately, within those 60 days we have had over 240 dhs Law Enforcement officers injured because of the criminal and violent activity every night. Pete mr. Secretary, over those 60 days have you seen a lot of violence. Which is required use of force people protecting federal property the mayor there, mayor ted wheeler is he not staring down those people and locking them up instead is he apologizing. I apologize to those nonviolent demonstrators who were subjected to the use of cs gas or orad it. Should never have happened. I take personal responsibility for it. And im sorry. I also want to draw a clear distinction between the Portland Police use the cs gas and what we are seeing the federal officers use. The federal officers are using cs gas broadly, indiscriminately and nightly. And that is why it is escalating the behavior we are seeing on the streets rather than descalating it. Pete so are the rules of engagement for federal officers there to use gas broadly on Peaceful Protesters . Absolutely not. What the mayor quoted just now is completely inaccurate. I believe he knows it to be inaccurate. But, again, is he putting politics over public safety. What we know is there are nonviolent peaceful protests that the occur in portland that occur around that courthouse every day. And there are no issues. The violent criminal activity that the mayor is, again, not telling you the truth about occurs between midnight and 5 00 a. M. Every morning and it is violent, violent criminals and other opportunists, violent opportunists that are attacking that courthouse and thats what we are concerned about. There are no peaceful protesting going on at 3 30 and 4 00 a. M. In the morning at that courthouse. That occurs earlier in the day and there are no issues. So the mayor is intentionally confusing issues and, again, playing politics over public safety. Ainsley if you just think about common sense here. Look, peaceful protest, you dont need tear gas, right . We all agree you can peaceably protest. When it gets violent and see all these videos of tons of people going toward like 10 or 15 officers that are trying to guard a monument or a courthouse and i am worried about their safety. And when you have individuals throwing rocks and bottles at them, the Police Officers in portland found recently a sledge hammer, gas cans. And so these officers were asking them to go out there and then what are they supposed to do when these crowds start coming for them . Tear gas is not going to kill you. Its going to keep the violent people away from hurting our Police Officers. What do you make of the increase of violence . Take a very defensive posture in doing that engage the violent individuals to push them back away from the fence line that we have established there what we have been saying all along these individuals shouldnt be able to congregate in city parks and city streets to do this violent activity. We have been asking for 60 days for Portland Police to do their job, for whatever reason it took 60 days it took my Law Enforcement 245 injuries. Over 90 arrests for them to step up and to do their job. Im glad they are here. Im glad theyre partnering with us we can hopefully bring this to a peaceful conclusion very quickly. What we know are the weekends are more violent, so we are going to remain there until we are assured that that courthouse is safe and secure. Other cities like seattle that you mentioned and others we have as we get intelligence and threat information that federal properties are targeted, we send in stand by teams of Law Enforcement personnel. And when that threat passes, we remove those teams. So its very much like we do every other day of the year with Law Enforcement arranged the country. Pete mr. Secretary, real quick, exit question, what is the threshold by which the National Guard would be deployed. We have heard the president talk about that in portland. Sure. Well, i think, again, we have got to see if the Oregon State Police put together an effective plan. If they dont and the criminal activity continues there at the courthouse. And the Oregon State Police are overrun. Then thats certainly an option that the president has continued to talk about. Its certainly an option that we will look at. We have nice waves out here and some folks Walking Around but beach Officials Say they are taking no chances with safety, they want everyone to stay safe. They are securing Central Florida beaches up and down the coast ahead. Officials are warning about the dangerous surf in the storm could bring, beach patrols say people should stay away especially after the hurricane passes. The most dangerous part of when the storm passes and looks safer out there. We have all those holes in the sandbar and those do create rift current conditions. And they say they are going to fly the red flag which warns of Hazardous Conditions in the water. Throughout the weekend they are asking swimmers and especially surfers to stay clear of the waves. Theres time for this storm to strengthen as it comes close to florida, although the latest thinking is the storm is just going to parallel the florida coastline and then come very close to the carolinas, perhaps impacting North Carolina as we get towards the latter part of the weekend into next week. Here is the latest track and latest thinking. Here is the center of the storm. We think the worst of the rain and wind bands will remain offshore. Thats not to say they are not going to get storm surge as well as Tropical Storm forced winds and the potential for heavy rainfall but the worst of it should remain offshore from florida. As we get into sunday, monday and tuesday, then that cone gets wider and looks like we could have direct impact along the coast of North Carolina and then up toward cape cod and the islands as we get into tuesday and wednesday. Janice yes, absolutely, yesterday we were thinking that this could have direct impact on florida, now the latest tracking shows parallelling the florida coast and perhaps making direct impact on the carolinas. 80milesperhour sustained wind storm. Isaias is the name and we are going to track it as it can potentially get stronger in bahamas, warm water ahead of the storm and then if it doesnt make a landfall or direct impact on land, thats going to give it some time to strengthen, so we are concerned with that. Looks like florida, the worst of the core of the rain and winds will remain offshore but this computer model shows a scrape South Carolina and North Carolina and then watch it as it moves up towards the northeast. We will get new information at 11 00 a. M. Still parallelling the coast of florida but as we get into sunday, monday and tuesday, all eyes on the carolinas and then up towards the northeast coast and even new england cape cod and the islands could be impacted.
