The murder is still a mystery this morning but police say the 15yearold left troubling messages on social media and was recently suspended from school for fighting. New evidence this morning proving the Canadian Parliament shooting was a planned terror attack. Police say the gunman recorded video of himself prior to that attack. Law enforcement analyze that video say it proves he was driven by ideological and political motives. The gunman was killed in that attack. A real tragedy rocking Major League Baseball this morning. A fatal car crash cutting short the promising career of st. Louis cardinals outfielder oscar pavareza. The 22yearold and his girlfriend were killed in a car wreck in the Dominican Republic sunday. In new york city we are stunned to find out a doctor who happens to be a wonderful person, treating patients with ebola in west africa came back and after a few days of jogging and a lowgrade fief, it turns out he had ebola. We look back at where hes been and what he was doing and we realize he potentially could have contaminated three subway lines, Herald Square where he walked through, the people he had come in contact with after jogging as well as two Bowling Alleys and a restaurant. That prompted two governors to take action. They took the action. They said thats crazy. What were going to do is were going to have this policy and new york and new jersey as well where if somebody comes back from one of those countries and been around people with ebola what theyre going to have to do is theyre going to have to be quarantined at home unless you are from another state. That same day that they announced that. A young woman named kaci hickok from the state of maine went through the airport at newark. They did that digital scan thing. She had a temperature of 101 on her forehead. She was carted off to University Hospital in newark where she tested negative. But because of the program that both cuomo and christie put in place, she was put on a 21day quarantine in newark. Now she has been calling from her tent. She says her human rights are being violated and she wants to sue Chris Christie because she says she shouldnt be there. Her temperature dropped. Anthony fow which i saying weve revised the guidelines and is against quarantine. People who are a symptomatic do not transmit. That doesnt mean were cavalier about it but there are other steps you can protect people based on Scientific Evidence that doesnt necessarily have to go so far as to possibly have unintended consequences of disincentivizing Health Care Workers. The best way to protect us is to stop the epidemic in africa and we need those Health Care Workers so we do not want to put them in a position where it makes it very, very uncomfortable. Chris christie also brought up, the fact is youve got to have mandatory quarantines. These Health Care Workers who obviously care so much about people theyre going to give their time for very little money to go to africa im sure dont want to infect anyone. So a mandatory quarantine would be in place but shouldnt be going against their beliefs. Chris christie put up a great point. He said we told an nbc reporter and crew be in a not mandatory but quarantine yourself. They didnt. They were Walking Around princeton having a great time. Now hes going to take action. This is governments job. If anything else, the governments job is to protect the safety and health of our citizens. And so weve taken this action and i absolutely have no second thoughts about it. Saying he has an obligation to protect the citizens of new jersey which is where you live. How many people hive in the state of new jersey . His obligation is to protect those millions and im sorry if this one person has to be in quarantine hes saying, but its better to be safe than sorry. After the two governors came out and said theyre going to have to have a 21day quarantine and then this woman out in newark now is threatening to blow everything up by suing the governor of new jersey for keeping her against her will because she says i dont have it even though i had the temperature at the airport, the white house called both the governors and complained and said youve got to reconsider. Cuomo last night had a press conference and said you know what . If youre a new yorker you can stay at your house. But that was the same policy that they came up with last wednesday. If they catch you at the airport, theyll put you somewhere else. The obligation is if you test positively, theyre going to cart you off. Cuomo is saying if you dont have symptoms you can stay home. Your friends can visit, your family can visit. Just monitor yourself. Once you have symptoms well take a different approach. The truth is blacks are successful. When you look at Charles Barkleys point it is false because he himself is successful and there are a number of successful blacks all over this country who have done well. People get crap from everybody. I think this is a convenient argument to make someone elses point but has nothing to do with the fact that blacks arent successful. We are successful as a people. Oh, by the way, obama was said to not be black enough when he was losing to hillary in 2007 until he won in iowa. These are convenient arguments people like to drum up when they make sense for their point. Thats not the point. The point is in the case of this particular quarterback, the idea that his success is based on him getting closer to management and management is a code word for white folks and its the ageold situation. It is the same thing black conservatives go through politically. If we dont behave a particular way or support barack obama 100 were considered not black enough. That is the code word that says you have to be down with the people no matter what, right or wrong. On her forehead it showed up 101, so they carted her to the hospital. She eventually tested negative for ebola. But they say do the scan, she has a temperature, we have to too something about it. At least the governor, even though cuomo has caved, theyre trying to do something more than the cdc, which as weve seen time and again, they had some rules, but they didnt work out so well. I dont think the cdc has any standards cause as far as theyre concerned, you can come into the country and do whatever you want. Youre supposed to go home and youre on your own self goodwill and stay home and relax and unfortunately, you see thatwith. They were supposed to be home, selfquarantined, except they decided to go out and have a good time. Its absolutely ridiculous. And the cdc should be ashamed of themselves and our government should be ashamed of itself because frankly, we should stop it at the source. From west africa, we should not allow people to come in, period. Its going to be tough with the marathon coming here in two weeks. I dont know what were going to do about that. We should do what other countries are doing. If you come from west africa especially from the hot spot, you just cant come in. We cant destroy our country and that could very well happen. They just have to make sure that theyre doing the right thing when they come back to our country to keep all of us safe. Also he was on Fox News Sunday yesterday talking about income inequality versus opportunity inequality. Hes saying we shouldnt worry about raising minimum wage to more than 10. We should be talking about there arent any opportunities for people who are looking for work. Lets take a listen and then i want your reaction. Doing this country is not have acerbate over a higher minimum wage. We have to have a debate over creating better paying middle class jobs in this country. And if that somehow doesnt comport with what people in the political elite want, then im sorry. There is just not income inequality. The bigger problem is opportunity inequality. Thats what mothers and fathers are sitting around Kitchen Tables talking about wanting for their childrens future. Mr. Trump, he says that 50 of the people who are out of work in new jersey have been out of work for six months. So they just cant get a job. China is taking our jobs. You know who is really taking our jobs that nobody even talks about and theyre doing unbelievablably well at taking our jobs and making lots of money off the United States is mexico. Mexico is doing a number on us. Theyre going to be our thats going to be number one for imports, mexico, very soon, over the next couple of years. Mexico is taking our jobs. By the way, we have our sergeant tahmoreesi, who cannot we just cannot get him. Hes the only one brian, the only one that cant get across the border is sergeant tahmoreesi. I know. And no one is asking for him in the white house. People have totally forgotten about him. Hes totally like forgotten. And mexico is taking our jobs and so many other countries are taking our jobs. Interestingly, Family Income is much lower, the family as a group, much lower now than it was when president obama took office. People are having a much lower income right now than when he took office. I mean, that to me is a really terrible statistic and if you happen to be africanamerican, its a total disaster. There is a story out that there is a fellow from mexico who killed two california deputies on friday. He had been deported twice and yet, we let him back in again and now these two guys are dead. Hes not the only one. You have a lot of criminals being let in and mexico is doing it and theyre letting them come in. Why should we keep them in mexico . But there are a number of states, and the first topic were going to put up is about pot. There are a number of states that have pot initiatives. In those states of alaska, oregon, florida, and the district of columbia, who is going to show up to vote on the pot . This is typically done to try to motivate younger democratic leaning voters. Marijuana initiatives on the ballot. They did it in Washington State and colorado last time. And it incentivizes some Younger Voters. Its a great idea because theyll be too stoned to turn out for hillary in two years. They tried to get them to turn out and gin up democratic support. Another issue, the minimum wage. Not the 10. 10, but in south dakota, alaska, nebraska, illinois, and arkansas as well, theyve got different minimum wages. Who comes out to vote on that . Union voters, minority voters, Younger Voters typically do. Arkansas is a great example. Democrats moved this knowing it was going to be very close Senate Election there. They put it on the ballot trying to make it very difficult for tom cotton, the republican nominee. It looks like cotton is going to win and the minimum wage is going to win. So thats a problem for both sides as they do these initiatives and not necessarily people voting straight ticket one way or the other. All right. Youre sitting in georgia now. Georgia is one of the states thats going to vote on taxes, i would imagine lowering taxes. And also in tennessee, illinois, nevada and in massachusetts. Who comes out to vote on taxes . Older voters, more conservative voters in most of these cases. Illinois may be an exception. Its a vote designed to increase taxes on millionaires. Most of the other places will be capping or putting restrictions. That helps conservatives. All right. So that could actually help the guy who is running for senate in georgia. Yes. Finally, when it comes to gun rights, who generally and were talking about the states of washington and alabama, who showed up to vote on guns . Washington is a real wild card after the School Shooting last week. But typically more conservative voters turn out. This is one of the problems for liberals and conservatives. When they think theyre in the majority and theyre not on an issue, they do things like this and in these cases, you may see more conservative, independent voters show up who might not otherwise have come to the polls. Absolutely. So when were talking about the balance of power in the u. S. Senate and harry reid, is he going to lose his job . A lot of people will be voting on minimum wage, pot, taxes, and stuff like that, right . They will. It will be an added incentive to get people to the polls. They sent in money and raised a huge amount of money for the goldwater campaign. You and i have the courage to say to our enemy, there is a price we will not pay. There is a point which they must not advance. Even in the toughest times, reagan always conveyed that if the American People remembered what made them great in the first place, our difficult struggle, we would prevail. We have a rendezvous with destiny. Well preserve for our children this the last best hope for man on earth or sentence them to take the last step into 1,000 years of darkness. One interesting note, everybody, on that was that Barry Goldwater was grateful, but also terrified that Ronald Reagan was going to give that speech. Obviously goldwater went on to a big, big defeat. But he knew if reagan made that speech, that he would electrify the country and he did. They raised about 8 million for that campaign as a result of that one speech. Thats gigantic. They shut down the switch boards. Goldwater started getting panicky before . He d. His handlers said, do we want reagan to give the speech . He did and the rest is history. Tomorrow we go to the Ronald Reagan library and museum and see air force one and the state room that the president was in, the berlin wall, lots about the assassination attempt, incredible visit that we had about a week ago to the Reagan Library and museum. Why do you think the democrats are interested in regulating the internet . Well, steve, i believe that my democratic colleagues are concerned that the internet has become a very effective tool for communicating to the public. But i think what theyre overlooking is the vast majority of communications over the internet, particularly political communications, are free or low cost. The internet has democracyized political discussion like no invention and i think that we need to leave hands off and the government needs to know when to leave well enough alone. Well, that may be their goal, but ultimately if this were instituted, politicallyleaning web sites like dredge report could be impacted, jib jab, youtube, thats crazy. Well, i think that is a problem. There are hundreds of thousands of blogs, web sites, pod casts, web casts and i cant imagine a Regulatory Regime where the federal government starts culling web sites and youtube posts on a daily basis to identify those that might not have registered and reported their expenditures in connection with those online posts. And then contacting those individuals and asking how much did you actually spend on this . Sure. It really is a specter of a government review board culling the internet daily. I dont know how we could begin to regulate all the political commentaries online. Sure. But if they did, he would have legions and legions of government regulators and i dont know if you want to touch on this, but when you look at what happened at the irs, how they clamped down on the tea party and right leaning groups, you can just imagine depending on who is in charge at the white house, the fec might be clamping down on their political opponents. This is why i say government needs to know when to leave well enough alone. In 2006 the fec adopted a role that did that. There are now calls to revisit that 2006 rule making. I can tell you that several of us on the commission were a sixmember body we will oppose any effort to regulate online political speech. Okay. So right now its split 50 50 and nothing changes going forward. But what are the chances, you know, if you were a betting man, that things would change . Well, apparently there is going to be an effort to change them. Right now i know i have two colleagues, commissioner Matt Peterson and commissioner caroline hunter, and on friday of last week, we split 33 in a case involving free Youtube Video posts. And three of my democratic colleagues voted to investigate an organization that was alleged to have done nothing other than post two videos on youtube for free. My two republican colleagues and i voted to dismiss that case. Luckily or fortunately, congress set up a federal Election Commission to require four votes to investigate.
