Other tranels were so horrified by this they would not even report it. For abc they were panicked in saying it and immediately almost tried to walk back and diminish their own poll. Steve when you read what the Washington Post wrote and they said, you know, joe biden is struggling with the economy, with immigration, with the fact that the u. S. Is doing too much in ukraine, they say, and joe bidens age, this appeared to be an outlier. In other words, we spent im guessing, they spent 100,000 probably to do this poll and got results they didnt want but they published it anyway. They said this survey is significantly at odds with other public polls that show that general election contest a virtual dead heat. The difference between the poll and others as well as usual makeup of trump and bidens coalitions in this survey suggest it is probably an outlier. So dont essentially dont trust it. Other stuff says something else. Lawrence i find the whole thing curious. You know, if you go back to 2020, looking at polling from back in there. There was a gallup poll that said 56 of americans considered themselves better off against donald trump. When they went down to the bottom of the poll 44 agreed that he had president ial qualities and 49 agreed with him on some of the issues. And so, when you put all of that together, people are better off under donald trump but they just didnt like his tone and tenure. Why does that matter now . Things just arent going so well. 78 of americans feel like we are heading down the wrong direction. And i think, ainsley, this has to do with people choosing how they feel over personality, this election cycle, because things just arent going right in the economy. Ainsley they didnt have to publish this. They could have gotten these results. New york post wouldnt have posted sthg positive toward trump. I thought maybe they are pushing this because they want a different candidate. Steve right . Lawrence squeeze him. Ainsley then it sounds like when they walk it back, this is an outlier. This is unlike any other poll it. Sounds like, maybe, democrats got on the Washington Post. I cant believe yall ran. This i cant believe you are saying. This this is unlike any other poll. Oh, maybe you are right. Lets paint it as outlier. Brian the problem is in may they did a similar poll and trump won by 7. Headtohead its just overwhelming. 74 believe that his age and fitness or a huge detriment for him. Ainsley thats in the nbc poll. Brian and with just filling out the abc poll, which is pretty astounding, if you look at people and you mention only 15 think they are better off, when you take a look at what they president what the current president is doing now with job approval. He is at 37 job approval. If you look at the final result. It is not surprising. When you look at the other elements of this poll, that he is actually losing by this much. But it also shows you that he is almost incapable of selling his economic gains. He spent the whole summer telling us how Great Bidenomics was. And, get what . Nobody agrees with him. So, regarding the question about his age and everything else. Its taking its toll. One of the nbc questions was would you like a democratic candidate to challenge joe biden . And this is among democrats. And look at that. 60 percent said yes. And 36 percent said no. Its interesting. In the the Washington Post poll, when asked, who would you like, 8 percent said bernie sanders. 8 percent said kamala harris. 20 percent said somebody else. And 40 percent said i got no opinion.
