To just give you a bit more background on that. Keep this in mind, thats on top of revisions upward for february and march. We actually added another 16,000 jobs during that period. So this is broadly speaking a great jobs report and outstanding economic report for the month of april. I try to look for problems along the way, there is one thing i want you to keep in mind. The underlying structural problem of work force participation, the rate is slightly off. It could have to do with more baby boomers getting out of the marketplace but if thats a quibble it is just that. Its a strong report. Sandra a very strong report. As weve heard from his Economic Team come the 2020 campaign, they want to put socialism on trial. We heard from larry kudlow the president s economic advisor. Is it fair to say the white house will continue to fight House Democratic efforts to compel more staff testimony, more hearings and more disclosures, kevin . This is one of those stories that wont go away. Youll hear the president say this thing is over, done. Weve been very transparent. I dont think there is any question that democrats want to get their pound of flesh out of this. Lets talk about bill barr and former white House Counsel don mcgahn. Sent another spy, a confidential agent, a woman who went by the fake name of asra turk. We dont know her real name. They sent her to london to gather information from George Papadopoulos. Last night on tucker papadopoulos said she used sex appeal to try to get information from him but that he knew at the start that something was really weird about the whole thing. Bill let me play a little bit of this. As you describe this interview, this meeting in london. Here is how he described it with tucker. She barely spoke english. Very flirty and was trying to do two things. One to extract information about my professional connections in the middle east and two, to see if i had any information that she could potentially extract from me about trump and russia, which is nonsense. He said he believes that barr made the right call and that it was ultimately his choice. Do you think he should have appeared . I fully support the attorney generals decision. I served on the Judiciary Committee for 11 years. I can recall no occasion where lawyers for the majority of the minority questioned a member of the president s cabinet under eats party. I served under a democrat president and a republican president. Members of the Judiciary Committee, elected members of congress ought to be able to do their job and ask the questions and we fully support the attorney generals decision not to appear. Sandra a further push by House Democrats want don mcgahn to testify. Should he . I think the president has indicated he will make a decision about whether or not that executive privilege lets remember here. Don mcgahn was made available to the special counsel and by most reports provided more than 30 hours of testimony, all of which contributed to the report that concluded there was no collusion and no obstruction. The congress has that report available. They have the information available. There are certain redactions that are required under the law for grand juries, a limited number of members have congress have accessed beyond that. The information is there for them to look at. She took on the Trump Administration and blamed the Trump Administration for what were seeing unfold there. Here she is in her own words. Thats not a result of u. S. Policies. Thats a result of the dictatorship and socialism that has been imposed on the people of venezuela by Nicolas Maduro. From early in this administration President Trump has made it clear the United States is not going to stand idly by while the people of venezuela suffer under oppression and dictatorship and socialism. Weve taken decisive steps and made it clear Nicolas Maduro has no legitimate claim to power and he must go. I couldnt be more proud of the way President Trump directed our administration to be the first nation on earth to recognize juan guaido as the legitimate president of the venezuela. Now more than 50 nations have joined us. Nations all across this hemisphere and across the world are standing with us. Well continue to stand with the legitimate president of venezuela and with the National Assembly until freedom and democracy are restored. Sandra when is the last time you talked to juan guaido. Have you spoken with him recently . Our administration is in regular contact with him and with many of the Opposition Leaders in venezuela. Across the region. I met juan guaido when i traveled to columbia a few short months ago. I have to tell you, this is a remarkably courageous young man. He and his wife have stepped forward to lead their nation back to freedom. But the very idea that the United States is somehow responsible for what is happening in venezuela is absurd. Its a result of dictatorship and oppression and socialist policies that maduro and his predecessor imposed on this once prosperous nation. Sandra a fair question of how far the United States should get involved. We heard secretary of state mike pompeo say this week all options are on the table and that includes military options. How involved are we at this point first of all . Well, weve put unprecedented sanctions on the maduro regime, on individuals in the regime and enterprises in the regime. Weve marshaled unprecedented diplomatic pressure. Well continue to do all that. All options are on the table. I think for more than two years President Trump has made it clear that we reserve all options and the capacity of the United States of america to pursue our interests in this region are unquestionable. I can recall no occasion where lawyers for the majority of the minority questioned a member of a president s cabinet under either party. I served under a democrat and republican president. Members of the Judiciary Committee elected members of congress ought to be able to do their job. Sandra remarkable to hear that perspective from the Vice President there earlier this morning, chris. First of all nice job in your interview with the Vice President. I was watching this morning. I have to say i kind of agree with the Vice President on all this. You know, i know there is some history of asking staff lawyers but it is pretty rare. It hasnt happened recently and frankly, there certainly is the implication it would look and sound like the watergate hearings where staff interviewed witnesses or the irancontra hearings where staff interviewed witnesses. I dont think it was entirely a coincidence on the part of the democrats. I think they were trying to make it look like some kind of Major Investigation like that and remember, you know, its one thing if you were going to be interviewing it would be odd if you were interviewing Robert Mueller who spent two years investigating. This is bill barr, who was doing nothing but talking about a report which he read which he had nothing to do with. So the idea that you would need to get counsel to drill down on the Mueller Report with the attorney general who just received the report and forwarded it on to congress, i have to say it does sound and seem and look like a bit of a stunt. Sandra nancy pelosi really took it a step further in that News Conference yesterday, chris, where as john roberts just said she used the l word to describe the attorney general. Here is the speaker of the house. He lied to congress. He lied to congress. If anybody else did that it would be considered a crime. Nobody is above the law, not the president of the United States, and not the attorney general. Being the attorney general does not give you a back to go say whatever you want and it is the fact because you are the attorney general. Sandra Lindsey Graham responded to that saying she needs to apologize for making such a claim. Well, you know, the interesting question, if i had Speaker Pelosi on Fox News Sunday this week i would say what are you going to do about it . If you believe he lied to congress and more importantly you say he committed the crime, what are you going to do . This raises the question about what congress is going to do because the white house and the attorney general have made it pretty clear that they are not going to turn over a lot of documents. I think, you know, you were being john was being very cautious in saying they havent tipped their hand. There is an inclination. It was clear from the herridge interview there is no chance the president will allow don mcgahn, the former white House Counsel, to testify. Then the question is what do they do about it .
