He will make the case through the Foundation Clinton is enabling human rights abuses by accepting donations from country that deny basic human rights to women and minorities and provide harsh penalties to lgbt individuals. He will say that clinton is incapable of grasping the threat from radical islam because she doesnt seem to care that the foundation is doing business with countries that are abusing human rights. That is sort of the crux where he will be coming from here. Meanwhile yesterday donald trump met with evangelical leaders to try to solidify support from could not serve tiff christians in this country. Those who were there say it was overall positive and productive meeting. I was invited to hear him and im glad i did because i think he answered everyones questions. People that had, i think good concerns, when i say good, concerns, they were honest concerns, i think donald trump addressed most of those today. I endorsed ted cruz because i believed he was individual bestsuited to move the nation forward given what has happened in the last seven 1 2 years. But he is no longer in the race. Martha all right. So you listened to donald trump yesterday. What was your takeaway . First off, it was a positive event. When we first started talking about this, we thought maybe we would have four, maybe 500 people. Over a thousand people, im talking about leaders, evangelical, social conservative leaders came across the country, which tells me, martha, there is great concern over where our nation is today. After seven 1 2 years of the pounding that values have taken from this administration, religious freedom under constant assault, there is clearly an Understanding America needs a strong, bold leader, and i think people want to be for donald trump. Theyre not quite there and so they came to hear him. I think overall its with a very positive meeting. Martha we heard Charles Krauthamer last night talking about this on special report and saying what donald trump proved to the community yesterday was that he would sort of be the guy at the gate. He understands your issues. He might not be as steeped in them as you might like him to be, that he will protect the things thaw stand for. Do you believe that . Well, i believe what charles said, that is true. That is what he articulated. Two things he articulated yesterday, look, i will defend your freedom to believe and live according to your beliefs. That resonated with those there. Secondly, which i think gives him credibility on this, he has been attacked for not towing the line on Political Correctness. Youre talking to the evangelical community in the Popular Culture today is out of sync with these new values and theyre being hammered. So they have found someone that they identify with, maybe not on all the issues but here is a guy who says it like it is and he is not bowing down to Political Correctness. And they, evangelicals, were not going to bow to the culture either. We live our lives according to the transcendent truth of scripture. Martha in terms of getting out the vote, mobilizing, making sure evangelical christians come out for him, is that structure in place . Do you think that is going to happen or do you think a lot of people will sit home, say for whatever reason, theyre not enthusiastic about him and not going to vote . Very good question, martha. The structure is in place. The motivation is not there yet. He has to do extremely well. He has to do better than mitt romney did with evangelicals in 2012. I think he can get there. He is not there yet. Polling makes that very clear but i think yesterday was very significant step in beginning a conversation many. Im hoping he will surround himself with some evangelical social conservative leaders that can advise him on specific policies. He really doesnt talk much about the policies. And i think given he doesnt have a track record on public policy, that they want certainty. That will come through specific policy commitments and initiatives. Ed, how would you characterize this point of Trumps Campaign . Well i think this is great day to make this kind of speech because he is got to get it back on track. A lot of people are very concerned about the fundraising and whole variety of things. These are issues he has to run against her on. She clearly can be indicted on libya. It was her decision, turned out to be disaster. Clinton foundation i always thought the place to go look. I think there are things there clearly improper, if not illegal. This is better day to do it than it was before orlando. Bill joe, how vulnerable is she on these issues . Well look, i think eds right, that you know, we dont know, hopefully, i mean from the Trump Campaign point of view he is getting it back on track. I think, look, were going to see the attack laid out that he plans on making from now to november and weve seen the attacks that she intends to make. The real issue is, can he get the Campaign Communications and Organization Structure up enough it is not just one speech. That this is followed up with other surrogates out there and carrying it in ads and those kind of things. He didnt do that in the prior marries. He did it all on his own. Her attacks are followed up, you can see the party, the democratic party, rallying behind her and, you know, and amplifying those attacks. So far, he, it has been him. Im not sure thats enough. It is not just the speech. He has too carry it through with the campaign. Bill joe, come back to the point, do both of you, i want to remark in last 48 hours, thinking about lewandoski leaving on monday and yesterday, ed, this campaign was putting out more public emails in one day than it had possibly in a weeks time. So has it changed significantly . Can you say that already . You have a singular person in charge, no oaf to corey i thought did a great job getting him where he did. He had two heads. Joe and i can tell you, one person needs to be in charge campaign. Manafort is experienced hand. He knows how important communication is. They will respond constantly. Cant just be trump. Trump is extraordinary candidate on his game and i expect him to be today, you need the followup and need that communications. You just cant be on fox and cnn what have you by yourself. Bill you believe, you agree with joe on that point then . Absolutely. I think there is, there is a reason you run campaigns and campaigns do matter. At the end of the day the candidate is first and foremost but a campaign makes a difference between two or three Percentage Points at the end of the day and thats where we are today. Bill joe, do you get the sense this campaign is moving into a different gear the last couple days or not . I think it is certainly trying to. I think one of the problems with the can diet like trump, and ive had some, where theyre sort of, want to do it their way, its very difficult to get the message discipline and to build a Campaign Around them that amplifies that, particularly when you know, you have things like scott walker saying the delegates, the convention should be open. You have the party still hasnt unified completely behind him. The rankandfile seems to when you look at the polls but leadership just has not yet i think manafort might be able to do that. He does have 40 years of history and know how and context but still look, this is stuff you normally put together in the primary. He ran a great primary campaign obviously. Hes the presumptive nominee but, a lot of just bricks and mortar building that just didnt get done in those, in the primary campaign he has to do now. Bill in that sense playing catchup. He talked about the Republican Leadership too, just this week, two days ago, in fact. Ed, on the money front, it was a pretty big headline on monday, you have 1. 3 million in the bank and she has 42 million. Can you say today whether or not big money donors are willing to write checks . Right today it has been real argument with them because theyre not sure he is not going to selffund. The truth of the matter, if you want to make equal game, shut everybody up, here is another 25 million. I write the check. Lets start. I expect you to put money in too. I think if that happened, all this would quiet down. I think certain extent, were at point he has to build the campaign. Be on message. Im very positive to see he has teleprompters up there which means it will be very controlled speech. Thats a good thing. And i think, you cant run National Campaign with 70 people. You need hundreds at this point and thousands by the time youre finished. That is a big job to ramp up quickly and bill she will speak later today in North Carolina. Ed, has she been, has she been on point . She is bill she kept him on defensive or in the . He is kind of selfdestructed. I think more him on the defensive than her. She will run her campaign. She is not exciting candidate. She obviously hasnt eliminated issues haunting her. She has real integrity issue. She is a mediocre candidate on her best day. I think he can be extraordinary candidate on his best day. Well see if they both have best days in the future. Bill joe, what did that . Yeah, i think he can be hate to put it in those terms, the he can be dr. Jekyl and mr. Hyde. That is problem with republican guesting behind him. He has shown more reserve and discipline recently but again, you look what happened with hillarys speech yesterday, a video, emails, other surrogates out there amplifying that message, thats something she built her campaign, her campaign was built not to just win the primary but to fight a general election fight and to fight he was, she was in ohio. Hes in New Hampshire. You know, just strategy of that doesnt make sense to me, particularly given pennsylvania, ohio i mean key places where he has to make a difference. He should have been in michigan or pennsylvania today. I think, to give this speech. I think there is some differences in strategy arent quite there yet. Bill both of you stand by, okay . N. , Fox News Contributor and senior fellow at the American Enterprise institute. Good to see you this morning, ambassador. What do you expect to hear from him, when you heard a little bit what he will go after, libya, benghazi, a good place to start or would you like to see him go elsewhere . No, i think lets take benghazi as an example. I think secretary clintons behavior before, during and after the attack on september 11th, 2012 against the consulate in benghazi was a complete failure from start to finish. I think her performance and president obamas were essentially indistinguishable and that this represents the classic manifestation of the failure of the Obama Administration, the clinton antiterrorism policy they refused to acknowledge that libya had slipped out of the grasp of a legitimate government and became a haven for terrorists and terrorist training cams camps. They failed to give protection to our ambassador and other americans despite multiple requests for assistance and overwhelming evidence of growing terrorist threat. As tragic as four murders of americans were, the worst failure was in the aftermath of benghazi where the sum total of the american response was to arrest one, one terrorist leader and bring him back to the flights for due process criminal trial. The signal that sent all over north africa and middle east to terrorists and their sympathizers that under barack obama and Hillary Clinton, you can kill an American Ambassador and essentially get away with it. There is no excuse for that performance. Martha that is extraordinary criticism. Big picture, youve been around politics and campaigns for many years, how do you think this is going, what do you think he needs to do . Well i think he needs to demonstrate to the American People he can be the commanderinchief. I think this is clintons liability. I think as ed rollins said, people dont trust her. They think she is dishonest. Theyre extraordinarily concerned about the email issue and the breaches to american National Security that represented. I think trump has made the right start by saying he will rebuild the american military. I dont think there is much else that can come until that is clear and established american policy. But i think in the wake of orlando in particular, people understand, the citizens of the country understand, even if their leaders in washington dont, they expect the government to protect them against these terrorist attacks and thats what it was. Trump can demonstrate he last got that commanderinchief authority. That he is president ial i think he will win in november. Martha the other day i said were not only going to make America Great again, well make america safe again. That will become sort of the subtitle of this campaign. Martha so we think it is about to get underway, Donald Trumps speech in Downtown Manhattan where we know we i will go hard against Hillary Clinton on issue of libya, on the issue of the foundation, all about saudi arabia and foundations relationship there. Weve heard the silence your cell phones warning which is what we get a couple minutes before the speeches get underway. You know, you listened to ed rollins, moments ago, bill, who was speaking about sort of selfdestructive nature and lack of money coming into the Trump Campaign and it raises a lot of questions about you know, he is on the superpac side of the Trump Campaign. So clearly there is some nervousness in the ranks and he is going to begin the campaign to try to silence that and show everybody that he is serious about what he is pursuing here and that he is going hard after Hillary Clinton. There has to be in this message, the sort of big make America Great picture that gives people something positive to hang on to as well in the mix if he will start bringing in voters who have not already warned to him. He had 13 million voters in the primary process. He has to get 65 Million People in in country to say that they are aboard the trump train. That is the process that is expected to begin now and well see what he has. Bill already today, we had a major fundraiser in new york city which has not been common at all for the trump team or for the rnc we were speaking with someone on the finance Committee Just last hour. They believed they raised more than 5 million overnight. You will need a lot of nights to keep pace with Hillary Clinton and democrats. It is pretty obvious. At the same time, you have this whole battle behind the scenes for control of power in congress, whether paul ryan talking way he is talking, or whether marco rubio im back in this game to win reelection in florida which was announced last hour here on fox. You start to see the gears of this election moving to i believe another level just this week. Martha how about the fact that ed rollins said moments ago, that he would like to see the candidate put up 25 million of his own money. He said, you know, two million what he said he would do, match peoples donations up to two million. Why dont you make a big bold statement, say im in for 25. I want everybody else to get on board. He felt that kind of personal commitment on Donald Trumps part might sort of spur others to become a little more active in the fundraising. You spoke with Anthony Scaramucci earlier who is very large person in that fundraising operation. He seems to feel like these went well this morning in new york. I thought that was very interesting coming from ed rollins. He would like to see much bigger give on trumps part to show how committed he is to the race. That might greece peoples grease peoples wallets as well. Bill if youre worth 9 billion, 25 million martha is nothing. Waiting for donald trump to step to the podium. The discussion why he is in new york city has come up this morning as well. Why not in michigan . Why not in some places where he needs to turn the tide . States he has said he believes he can change . New york is one of them. Maybe he would make the argument that is why he is in new york. New york, new jersey, california, some places where he believes he can turn these into republican states. He has his work cut out for him in the coming weeks. Youve got the big benchmark moments. You have got the convention. You have got the vp pick. You have got the debates. Those are big moments where he can reintroduce himself to the american public. He has to knock hillary down and build himself up. That is the issue stands before him this morning. Bill meantime significant meeting yesterday with religious leaders and evangelicals. You spoke with tony perkins earlier today. They seem at least publicly that trump is pursuing their same ideas and ideals. That meeting happened yesterday. You just saw, what was it a bottle of water came out there . We see the teleprompter is in place. That is another comment republicans on the side and some publicly said, they want trump to streamline the message. You cant do that if youre vamping for an hour at a Campaign Stop in america. You need to do it on stage in front of a microphone with teleprompters on both sideses. That is the state of politics and message game today. Martha the other big element that happened this week is stepping up of the family. That trumps family was, one of the large instruments behind getting more focused in this campaign saying we cant have two heads to run this thing. Youve got to put it in paul maniforts hands. How much can the family help him to become disciplined on the campaign trail and get focused with his message . Weve seen donald trump throughout course of his Business Career in this city fall on tough times before. He is in one of those ditches some could argue given poll numbers and financial situation. He needs to pull himself out. He wants to win, which he said he wants to win, he will have to turn this whole ship around. He has to begin that process today. Bill one other thing of note yesterday when Hillary Clinton was speaking in columbus, ohio, was Rapid Response operation the trump team did out of new york city. They were ready to react to her before she started talking, while she was talking and followon response afterwards. Now this is happening now more than a month after trump locked up the nomination. So even before clinton takes the stage yesterday, youve got a economic proposal coming out of donald trump. Youve got him going after her of attack. After her strategy and her thinking. That is something that people on the outside were waiting for. And they finally have that. You know what the operation is in brooklyn, new york. Hillary clinton has hundreds of staffers every day ready to respond to anything that trump says. Trump would like to say, i run a lean campaign. I dont spend a lot of money. I dont need all the staffers. I dont need the cash. Many would argue also he has tried to win this on power of his own personality. Is that enough . Joe trippi, ed rollins both argued 15 minutes ago it is not. You need more than that. Martha you think back to the arguments made through the primaries though as he ran against 16 other candidates, could never be done. He will drop out, every time he said something controversial they said this is end of it. Do not underestimate donald trump. This is a man who came from nowhere in in campaign, people laughed at idea that he said he wanted to be president and he is now the Presumptive Republican nominee for his party. But he has forces that are knocking heads against each other within the Republican Party. Youve got the camp that would still like to see somebody else run. You have those trying to become enthusiastic. You have those solidly enthusiastic. Those have been with him day one. They claim they would put him over the top. Can he extrapolate primary numbers to the general election . Are there 65 Million People out there, in comes ivanka trump, eric trump, his wife and family taking front row seats in this which is significant. They have been at his side, bill, since day one. They are huge believers in this effort. All of his children appear to have now taken their seats in the front row here. They are huge part of this story. Here is donald trump. Lets listen in. I wonder why . Together she and bill made 153 million giving speeches to lobbyists, ceos, and foreign governments in the years since 2001. They totally own her and that will never, ever change, including if she ever became president , god help us. [applause] the choice in this election is a choice between taking our Government Back from the special interests or surrendering really the last scrap of independence to the total and complete control of people like the clintons. Those are the stakes. Hillary clinton wants to be president but she doesnt have the temperment or as Bernie Sanders said, very strongly, the judgment to be president. She does not have the judgment. She believes [applause] she believes shes entitled to the office. Her Campaign Slogan is, im with her. You know what my response is to that . Im with you, the American People. [cheers and applause] thank you very much. She thinks it is all about her. I know it is all about you, i know it is all about making America Great again for all americans, all americans. Our country lost its way when it stopped putting the American People really first. We have to go back to putting our American People first. We got here because we switched from a policy of americanism, focusing on what is good for americas middle class, to a policy of globalism, focusing on how to make money for large corporations who can move their wealth and workers to foreign countries, all to the detriment of the American Worker and the American Economy itself. We reward companies for offshoring and we punish companies for doing business in america and keeping our workers employed. They get punished. This is not at rising tide that lifts all boats. This is a wave of globalism that wipes out our middle class and our jobs along with it. We need reform and we have to reform. Our Economic System so that once again we can all succeed together and america can become rich again. We have to make america rich again. [applause] and thats what i mean by America First. Our country will be better off when we start making our own products again, bringing our once great Manufacturing Capabilities back to the shores. I mean we have to bring our manufacturing back to the United States. Desperately needed. Desperately we need those jobs and we need it even from our psyche. One of the really great things and one of the first major bills that George Washington signed amazing when i saw this for the first time, the encouragement and protection of manufacturing in america. Our first republican president , abraham lincoln, warned us by saying the abandonment of the protective policy by the American Government will produce want and ruin among our people. In other words, in other words we have to protect our country. I have decided and visited cities and towns across america, all across america. And seen the devastation caused by the trade policies of bill and Hillary Clinton and it is total devastation. It is all over new york, all over pennsylvania, all over new england. All over the country. Hillary clinton supported bill clintons disasterous and totally disasterous nafta. Just like she supported chinas entrance into the world trade organization. Weve lost nearly 1 3 of our manufacturing jobs since these two hillarybacked agreements were signed, among the worst weve ever done. Among the most destructive agreements weve ever signed. Our trade deficit with china soared 40 during Hillary Clintons time as secretary of state. A disgraceful performance for which she should not be congratulated but rather scorned. Then she left china, so true. [applause] then she left china and what happened is billions and billions of dollars in our intellectual property, and china has taken it and it is a crime which is continuously going on and it is going on right now. They are stealing billions and billions of dollars of our intellectual property. Hillary clinton gave china millions of jobs and our best jobs and effectively let china completely rebuild itself. In return, Hillary Clinton got rich. The book, clinton cash by peter schweizer, documents how bill and hillary used state department to enrich their family at americas expense of the she gets rich, making you poor. [applause] here is a quote from the book. At the center of u. S. Policy towards china was Hillary Clinton. Tikrit call time, for u. S. China relations, bill clinton, gave a number of speeches that were underwritten about it Chinese Government and its supporters. These funds were paid to the clintons bank account directly while hillary was negotiating with china on behalf of United States. Tell me, folks, does that work . [applause] should be able to be found because the government, i will say, ive always heard you can never really delete an email. So it should be able to be found if they really want to find them but i dont think they want to find the
