The way to look at indiana is we have indianapolis in the center of the state, and you are likely to find a moderate, upscale republican voter given the dynamics at this stage of the game are likely to support cruz. But in the south bordering kentucky, i would expect trump to do quite well because these areas have been hit hard with manufacturing losses the tas 10, 20, 30 years. But this is the sort of thing what i look for is what i think his position would be going forward. As i understand the purpose of this speech and the others that his Campaign Says will follow, its to put itin a more president ial mode. In that sense i wish he would have done it 6 or 8 months ago. Is that why he did not repeat his calls for japan and south korea to consider acquiring Nuclear Weapons on their own . I was happy to not see that in there. I was happy that he didnt refer to the Iran Nuclear Deal as something he would try to reinforce or negotiate to make better. He basically said iran should never get Nuclear Weapons. There were a number of changes from things he said on the campaign trail. I think the point is, when you come to Foreign Policy, you have to have a strategy in mind for the United States. He told us what the center piece of of his policies would be. He need to flesh it out, and now he has the opportunity using this speech as a foundation to do it as senator cruz has done. But it is really hard to say whether that would have worked. Evaluating whether this will work i think, you just have to look at the idea that indiana, california, mustwins for ted cruz. He is sort of in his own red zone. He has to throw a hail mary pass, down by seven, this is what he has to do, he has got to win indiana. If Carly Fiorina can recharge the campaign, help him out with women Republican Voters in indiana, give him a boost he needs. He goes to california which is Carly Fiorina home state. She won a republican primary there in 2010. It could help. All matters whether everything falls into cruzs direction. What do you think about this cruzkasich alliance, we hear Carly Fiorina saying kasich needs to get out. They brokered a deal days ago. I think john kasich reportedly was meeting with some donors in indiana and doing gladhanding just last night so clearly it hasnt worked. It is hard to say whether or not john kasich will be a factor. You got to imagine even if he is not running ads, he is not actively campaigning in indiana, his share of the vote is probably going to go down. Will it be enough and will ted cruz pick up enough of those kasich voters who decide to vote strategically . It worked in wisconsin. It hasnt worked in other states. At this point ted cruz has to do anything he can to win in indiana because if he doesnt win indiana, the delegate math is just too difficult for him. Since the federal government over next eight years anticipated under current law to spend 38 trillion, if you want to get rid of a 19 interest dollars debt in eight years, that means you have to cut federal spending in half. So it is unclear with 2 3 of the budget on autopilot, manadatory spending he wont touch. Really unclear how you accomplish those two goals. Erase the deficit in eight years and strengthen the military. So we need to have more details, particularly on the plan of strengthening the military. What exactly does he vision for our force structure . What will it require in range of changes and what it will require in terms of money. Take a look what is going on out there. He has potentially more votes than any republican candidate has ever garnered in a United States primary. We have isis not defeated in iraq and syria and soon to be in lebanon and we have deal with iran that is not working. That is reality. Everything else is sophistication. Where to put troops, where to send soldiers, that is not something that would be included as a tactical matter within a speech. You go for the major headlines or the major directions and then when the crisis will be addressed one after the other, then you will put specifics. Martha all right. But have met with him. Do you have, do you know what his perspective is whether or not he would, i assume you would increase airstrikes to get isis. He has been critical of the president s not doing enough of that. Now when the crisis will come there will be consultation, not just within his own team but within the government and with allies as well. All right.
