Disaster, we were breaking the details about Donald Trumps meeting with the russian lawyer during the campaign. Chief White House Correspondent john roberts is alive. John, tell us more about President Trumps message as he heads home on the issue of health care. Good morning to you. The president had barely gotten to the airport here before he turned his sights back to domestic issues tweeting out to his republican colleagues in the senate that its time to get moving here on a health care, Obamacare Repeal and replacement bill. The president tweeted republican senators are working hard to get their fill of obamacare or place. I will be at my desk handinhand. President also tweeting after all these years of suffering through obamacare, republican senators must come through as they have promised. The tweets at the end of the day for the president cap of what has been a pretty successful visit, i think here in paris meeting with the french president b6 and accompanying him took the bastille Day Celebrations the presidency and their in the viewing stand. Reviewing u. S. Troops who were among the participant, the reason being this is the centennial of americas involvement in the great war, world war i. They entered in 1917 and really helped to turn the tide in the history of what france would become. There are some 200 American Service members there including five who were dressed in uniforms from world war i. It was also an interesting moment because this does mark the oneyear anniversary of that massacre in nice were a terrorist took the truck and turned it into a weapon want down more than 100 people, a very poignant and to the ceremonies this morning when a precision military marching band formed the word nice. As they were playing along. The president and president macron seemed to enjoy, very Good Relationship throughout this two day stay here in france including a bilateral meeting and the fact that they were together there on the viewing stand. President macron in an address to the french people said President Trumps presence during the special moment in the history of france shows of the enduring relationship in the very friendship between the two countries. Shannon, it sounds like a 2 liters or up to a very good start. Shannon you got good news to share with us. Donald, jr. ,s meeting with that russian lawyer. What can you tell us . There is a new revelation with Metallica Italia veselnit, fox news has confirmed that a man that was described in records as a lobbyist with previous ties to russian intelligence was at the meeting with donald trump junior and veselnitskaya. In a terminal for donald trump junior said that he spoke to the man that told him that he is a u. S. Citizen and is not doing any work for the russian government. Trump junior says that he was an acquaintance of veselnitskaya and was present at the meeting to help out his translation even though it was a dedicated translator was already there he knew very well. Yesterday after this bilateral meeting or press conference, President Trump offered a Strong Defense of his son. Look at here. My son is a wonderful man. He took a meeting with a russian lawyer, not a government lawyer but a russian lawyer. Told the people i guess one of them left almost immediately and the other one was not really focused on the meeting. From a practical standpoint, most people wouldve taken that meeting. Its called Opposition Research or research into your opponent. President trump also raised the question yesterday to how veselnitskaya got in the country. Fox news inquired with the department of justice as to how that happened. We were hopeful that in september 2015 she was given an immigration waiver, which is called an immigration parole, so that she could participate in the Court Proceedings at one of her clients. That lasted until february of 2016, which then left the country and reentered in early june of 2016 on a nonimmigrant visa. Its that entry into the country during which she had that now famous meeting with donald trump, jr. , Jared Kushner was there as well. Shannon john roberts alie in paris. Safe travels home. Bill lets talk about paris and its been a whirlwind week for the president. Chris stirewalt here. Chris, good morning to you. You have the pictures of the pump, yet the images, and you had a lot of handshakes. Yes. And a great choice. A great choice for trump to accept the invitation. It was a good look and not just the optics, not just the lavish sprays of color and diplomacy and history and all that stuff, but a good look for trump as part of the community of nations and to step into for the first time that we are starting to see as the leader of the west. You start to be able to imagine donald trump stepping into the role of the real leader of the west. In the meantime, the beat goes on whether its russia or health care. Bill this onrush of krauthammer wright says. It turned out to be incompetent collusion, amateur collusion, comically failed collusion that does not raise the fact that the Trump Campaign officials were ready to play and they announce later collaborate more fruitfully. We dont know. If nothing else is found, the evidence is to back to damning back. Is it . Is not what a lot of democrats have said it is its not some of those wild eyed accusations are. It is a death of a really important talking point for the administration, which is there is no they are there. Theres never been any of their they are, nothing. We have in one fell swoop, we have the death of the talking point that is number one and we also have that donald trump, jr. , and other people in the orbit of the president let the president and Vice President go forward and make statements that were untrue and did not correct them. This has badly hurt the credibility of the administration. Bill we can both agree that this will go on for some time. However, health care is coming to a head. I dont know what will happen in the senate next week. Maybe they vote, maybe they dont. Rand paul is clearly a no on this health care bill. I think its worse. The old version repealed most of the obamacare taxes, this repeals about half the obamacare taxes. Continues to fund the majority and subsidies, continues to keep the majority of the regulations. Really, i think we are keeping obamacare as much as anything and thats not our promise. Bill i would say thats pretty much a no. [laughter] where are we on this today . Did you ever see that road runner cartoon were wily bunny pulls up the ripcord and anchor calls out and theres already a piano came out and then an anchor comes on the back . Bill with an acme weight over the top. Exactly so they pulled the second record and the anchor came out of the top. Its not impossible that this can be changed again and amended again. They have to get to the point where they can amended to change it again because what they can essentially do is use it to the vehicle to just do the obamacare patch. They are putting volumes in their with senators and key states, holdouts like Shelley Moore capito from west virginia, rob foreman from ohio, these powerful senators are offering them enticement to get them to come on board with this. What they have to do though is get those votes to start the process to amend it so they can change the bill and change it into a patch for obamacare and get out of this thing with their skins, or otherwise they are going to be standing at the bottom of a ravine when the piano comes down on their head. Bill the and o come . July 14th, we will see if it comes down or not. Have a good week and chris are what appear to be too much for coming up on this issue about health care. Were going to be joined by South CarolinaLindsey Graham. He is offering up his own plan here in the senate. North carolina congressman mark meadows and ohio congressman jim jordan, much to discuss appears to be what they are talking about the bill next week. Does it happen . If youre putting money down . I will say no. Shannon is that the over or under . We will see. Police have shut down a major polling sites in jerusalem for fridays pairs after a deadly attack near the entrance to the old city. Palestinian gunmen opening fire killing two Israeli Policemen before being shot dead by Security Forces inside the compound. Israeli police postman describes the scene. We can confirm it was a terrorist attack that took place. Three terrorists use an automatic weapon and a knife in and around the area. Our police units responded. All three terrorists were shot and killed. Police officers were in a threatening situation. Shannon hello, john, live in jerusalem to tell us more. Fishy situation and one of the holiest religious sites in the world. Right now, just to set the scene for you, we are standing outside the entrance to the old city. Police have shut it down. They are only allowing a limited amount of people, certain people, people who live within the city, tourists who are staying there, to go inside. Not only is the gate shut down but if you follow me over here, they shut down the whole area. They barricaded off the street. This is very unusual. Its not often this happens. Not only that, but all the other entrances have been shut down as well including the lions gate entrance where the attack happened around 7 30 this morning. We look at some of the video taken on somebody cell phone with three attackers opened fire as you are talking about on police and they ran into the temple on the compound where police ultimatelys shot killed them. Two officers were critically injured and later died of their wounds in the hospital, a third had minor injuries. The attackers were arabisraeli according to police which is unusual, thats not often the case as well. Earlier today, Prime Minister called to condemn the attack but assurance of that which is called the status quo is the temple will not change. Muslims are allowed to worship there, at the western wall. He was told by the Prime Minister that the status quo will not change. In response to todays attack, the entire compound was shut down. At that, shannon, is unprecedented, it hasnt happened since 1967. Usually when an attack happens there, they only allow ordered muslim men women into the compound. It was all shut down and that remains the case as i said, after a vicious attack at one of the holiest religious lights in the world. Shannon john huddy live on the scene for their us in jerusalem. Thank you very much. Bill touching moment there especially there on a friday and knowing the history of the part that world there. Shannon there is a delicate balance. Bill 12 minutes passed now, a ceasefire broker with russia after this. Five days seems like a long period of time in terms of a ceasefire in syria. Thats a very long period of time. That was a result of having communication with a country. Bill the country he is talking about is russia. Is this where putin and trump can cooperate the most . We will check it out. Shannon former Obama National security advisor, susan rice, is about to be in the hot seat with the House Intelligence Committee has for her next week. Bill the media having a field day over donald trump, jr. , and russia. Are they going overboard and then some . Our panel takes on that next. People are saying oh gosh this is how the russians operate. Thats baloney if this had been a set up by the soviets or the russians, they would have had something there to get to a second meeting, to get to a third meeting. Your brain is an amazing thing. But as you get older, it naturally begins to change, causing a lack of sharpness, or even trouble with recall. Thankfully, the breakthrough in prevagen helps your brain and actually improves memory. The secret is an ingredient originally discovered. In jellyfish. In clinical trials, prevagen has been shown to improve shortterm memory. Prevagen. The name to remember. I think we are going through a period of fevered insanity. First of all, somebody suggested the russians have a technique of setting you up so that they coopt you. If that was true in this meeting, i have written three novels about about terrorists among international spies. If they were setting him up, where were they . Bill Newt Gingrich teeing off on the media saying the firestorm over donald trump donald trump, jr. , is much ado about nothing. Is it or not . Juan williams and Mercedes Schlapp here today. Mercy, mercy me. Juan a milling, happy friday to both of you. Mercedes, its fevered insanity. Its a gross exaggeration. Is that what we have reached . I have to tell you that the Mainstream Media is just giddy these days with the information of this meeting between donald trump, jr. , and this russian lawyer. I find that also then you see the next step, which is that the democrats have gotten so excited that they are moving even towards how can we get the president impeached . Donald trump, jr. , did he violate Campaign Finance laws . They just overplayed their hand and took it to the next step. Right now, when you are looking at the facts about what we are first of all sing that donald trump, jr. , is seeing that we would take the oath and testify in front of the Senate Intelligence committee. Hes willing to to tell his story. I think he wants to be transparent on this issue because they need to put this to bed. They need to basically let it out that this was a meeting that occurred and it doesnt raise this kind of novel Conspiracy Theory where you have a music publicist with a russian lawyer, now you hear there is an exsoviet Intelligence Officer involved. We cant make this stuff up. Bill the pattern is when the president returns home from a trip overseas, theres another shoe that drops here from a leaker somewhere inside the administration. Now juan, is it insanity at a fever pitch or not . There is intense competition between the papers because the explanations keep shifting. Remember what happened this week with donald, jr. , was a decision on his part to release the emails because the new york time had him pinned. What strikes me and what Newt Gingrich had to say is that the explanation keep shifting. First there was no collusion, if there was collusion there is nothing illegal about collusion. As the president said, anybody would go to the meeting and of course, nothing came of the meeting. There was nothing produced, there was no followup to pick up on what Newt Gingrich was saying. These explanations boil down to what it looks like, i think from the media perspective, distraction, diversion, dont Pay Attention to what is going on here. There is nothing, its a big nothingburger. That invites further scrutiny. Bill mercedes, here is President Trump shifting the focus as to who this russian lawyer was and how she got here. He points a pretty strong finger back at the previous administration. Somebody said that her visa or passport to come into the country was approved by attorney general lynch. Maybe thats wrong, i just heard that a little while ago. Little surprised to hear that because she was here because of lynch. Bill may be that is where this is going, who knows . Loretta lynch said this says she does not have any personal knowledge of this. Is that right . Shannon its going in the sense that they are trying to f, it was obviously the talk in the Homeland Security that gave her access to come into the country and then it expired, her visa. Then she came into the state department. Thats what we are seeing in terms of the series of events. The bigger question here is, why would they let this x russian lawyer, who is apparently with kremlin ties linked to the very Controversial Group here in the United States called fusion, responsible for the dossier . It goes on and on and on. Why are we letting these people into the country . Thats a bigger question that needs to be raised. There is an answer. They have a trial going on here in new york where a russian businessman represented by that lawyer was going to have his properties forfeited because he was thought to be but she came on a visitor visa. Bill and im out of time. See you guys. Shannon a confession in a gruesome murder case. Speak what you have to say to these families . Shannon the killer, the alleged killer, admitted to shooting more men outside of philadelphia and now information on another arrest just this morning in that horrific case. A bonding moment for two former president s. Why do i have a friendship with him . Because hes called a brother with a different mother. He hangs out. When you came, you as more than i do. baby crying slow jazz music fly me to the moon and let me play bell ringing audience cheering i admire him for doing that and i think he would tell you the best thing that can happen to you when you are in politics is to be consistently underestimated. I was pretty good at that. Speech want a good line. Former president bill clinton and george w. Bush during some stories on stage last night. They were the president ial Leadership Scholars Program covering an array of topics. They ended the night and the discussion with a question about the most important quality in it being president and said this. Humility. I think its really important to know what you dont know and listen to the people who do know what you dont know. He said i want to be governor one through three things and a couple of them i didnt agree with but he had an agenda. If you want to be president , realize that its about the people, not about you. Shannon good advice. Bill wise words. Shannon bush 43 said he often calls clinton, very often in his early presidency, because he had so many questions and so many help and only two or three people alive would know thats like. He said it was a good thing to have that relationship. Bill that was just a little bit of their conversation, fascinating to hear these two men talk about their shared histories together. That was last night. Shannon you can tell they like each other. A new arrest reportedly made overnight in a quickly developing murder case involving four young men in pennsylvania. The suspected killer apparently already confessing to shooting the victims over a druggun deal. He allegedly burned the bodies on his family farm just outside of philadelphia. Now investigators are scrabbling to identify the human remains on earth from a mass grave found on the lane. Thats we find greg leventhal joining us now from pennsylvania with the very latest. What is the latest . News of that confession broke late yesterday afternoon and then the glory of an arrest of a possible accomplice came late last night. It is important to point out that the d. A. Has not officially confirmed any of this. They had a press briefing right here schedule at 11 00 this morning that is now been pushed back to another location later this afternoon. Heres what we can report this morning. The attorney for 20yearold Cosmo Dinardo said that his client confessed to all four murderers of the four young men who have been missing here in pennsylvania since last week. The Associated Press is reporting that dinardo told authorities that he killed each of the four separately after drug deals and shooting them importing their bodies and bearing them on his parents 90acre property just down the road from us. They have located a mass grave. He also reportedly named a coconspirator that he said helped with the three of the four killings. His lawyer said that dinardo told all of this to save his own skin. Mr. Dinardo this evening confessed to the District Attorney. He confessed to his participation in the murders of the four young men. In exchange for that confession, mr. Dinardo was promised by the District Attorney that he will spare his life by not invoking the death penalty. And of course we expect the d. A. To give us some information on all of us sometime this afternoon in doylestown, shannon. Shannon what else do we know about a possible second arrest . What is that about . Not a whole lot yet. He is being described as a second person of interest in this case. No word on any charges that were filed against the man who was taken into custody late last night in northeast seville philadelphia. A lot of rumors swirling at this point. We hope to learn more at that briefing and they are continuing to recover the remains at that property and a very awful weather today. Shannon thank you so much. Bill with the judge now taking on President Trump on yet another challenge on the travel ban. Claiming the Supreme Court and of the white house are not on the same page, is that the case . Shannon what do Senate Republicans have to do to find Common Ground to get to 50 votes on health care . What if that happens and it gets back to the house, where do they go from there . We will ask the chairman of the freedom car chris, mark meadows joins us live next. It should have gone through the committees of oversight so that the democrats had a role to play and probably could have gotten this thing done. I think prospects are dim now. Bill good news now from the former president jimmy carter, hes on of the possible. 92yearold former president became hydrated yesterday. He was at a habitat for humanity project in canada. Hospitalized as precautionary. Hes feeling better. Now back at that project site to continue his charity work. Good for him. Shannon President Trump sending a message to capitol hill calling on lawmakers to deliver on Health Care Reform. The president tweeting from france, after all of these years of suffering through obamacare, republican senators must come through as they have promised. G. O. P. Leadership need the boat. After confrontations and conversations with members, our conference has updated the last months better care discussion draft with additional provision to make it stronger. President trump and i believe this is the right bill at the right time to begin the end of obamacare. It is not the ideal bill i would like to pass. I suspect there might not be a single senator that it would be a ideal to pass. It is a bill that reflects the concerns expressed across the calm rates. Ive been saying a week or two now that the best chance to move forward is to divide the bill into go. Do a clean repeal, thats what we promised the voters. Shannon joining me now, mark meadows, chair of the House Freedom carcass, good to see you this morning sir. Great to be with you. Shannon you been to this on the house i come all the wheeling and dealing and switching of arms and carting up both. Do you think the senate get there . I do think they get there. I was on the senate side yesterday speaking to a number of senators. Some of the ones that you had on in your previously preview the. I can tell you its all hands on deck. Its not just the president tweeting from europe. He was actually on the phone talking to different senators, engaging personally. Do we have some work still to do . Yes. The number one priority is all about bringing premiums down. The real question, shannon, is this. How long do the American People have to wait to get relief . We have been talking about this for seven years, and we got to get it done. We got to stay here until we get it done. Shannon is a persuasive enough to get the 50 votes . We had a couple senators that we knew going into this now saying theyre not even going to vote to move forward with the debate on the bill. Right, and that motion to proceed, as they talk about, is that they want to negotiate a little bit more before they actually have a vote. I can tell you that some of those discussions with those senators are on the wing as you mention, senator paul looking at may be taking two separate approaches, may be bringing those back together. We talked about that yesterday. I was on the phone last night at 11 00 with another senator looking at some of the issues. This is not about me negotiating, its just about trying to help them understand where the house is. We believe we can get it done. Weve got to make sure that we drive premiums down, protect those preexisting conditions. This is a solid start. We are not all the way they are. We are making progress though. Shannon a new cbo score expected on some of these provisions on monday. We know for a lot of senators holding out that that is critical for them. Based on what you have seen as it stands right now, is it something that you can get enough conservatives in the house to vote for to get a complete package to the president s desk . We are still reviewing the final details of it, but i can tell you this, its enough of a framework with a few amendments or adjustments here or there, we believe that we can pick up a few moderates, may be a few conservatives to make it work. Obviously, these next 72120 hours will be critical as we try to finetune that. As we see, the real key for most americans is they want to make sure that they are protected. Whether you are a moderate or conservative, thats where you are really focused on on all of this. I can tell you that i am very optimistic that we will get there. If we dont, we need to stay here in august until we get it done. Shannon i know you are in favor of extending and cutting into the recess if that happens. Do you have a whole big pile on the table already of other things you have to do . Tax reform, debt ceiling, theres going to be fights for whether thats clean or not. Budgets, the list goes on and on. Are you feeling the pressure with no major legislative a complement to back accomplish mints yet for controlling the white house, house, and senate . We have to get things done. I am the one that says if we have no result, we should have no recess. You mentioned all of those things, tax reform, debt ceiling, its not just that, we got faa reauthorization, we got the funding of the government, without all the things that we are going to come back and try to do in about 21 days in september. I think that we need to be serious about that because if we are going to go home, i need to show an accomplishment that we have that a lot of americans that it really makes a difference or not about this president s agenda. We are serious about it and focus on it, but we got to get it done. You are exactly right. Shannon congressman mark meadows, we will see you around in august sir. Keep us updated. Thank you, shannon. Shannon more on this with South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham. He has introduced an alternative proposal and an additional part of this package on health care. Will it work . Hes live with us coming up. Bill breaking news from overnight now, federal judge in hawaii dealing a blow to President Trumps travel ban, expanding the list of exemptions to travelers from six muslim majority countries. What did we learn this time . William, good morning. Effectively what this means is this. Yesterday, if you wanted to enter the u. S. , for many of those six countries, you had to be a close relative of a u. S. Relative, parent, sibling, spouse, or fiance. Today, because of this relate, that universe is much larger including grandparents and grandchildren, aunts and uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, inlaws, and anyone about here by u. S. Charities. How it got here, a little bizarre thanks to judge jared watson who initially throughout the entire truck travel ban proved religious determination paired them last month the Supreme Court said they could ban immigration you have a bona fide relationship in the u. S. That meant that children spouses. Hawaii appealed, he said doughnuts may come, asked the Supreme Court the ninth circuit said watson could interpret what the Supreme Court ruling said. Accusing the administration of cherry picking, calling its definition in the antithesis of common sense. Of course he said close Family Member should include grandparents. The ruling means the travel ban stays in place but visitors from iran, libya, sudan, sudan, and 11 will be allowed if they have a close relative or refugee invited here. Thats what protesters wanted all along. The only people not allowed in for admission, if you will, trust and Business People the decision will stand unless the trust Administration Appeals and this is the law of the land and the Supreme Court. The supreme case in october and the ruling likely a few months later. Bill thank you for that. Returned yet again there from l. A. Shannon President Trump is now on his way back to the United States after meeting with the french president. Theres been a gaggle on Board Air Force one just wrapping up. Its a press q and a type of thing. Both president s are saying that they will work with russia. We will explain more about their peers feel a gaggle . Shannon no geese on the plane. Bill also from london, the british courts now offering charlie gards parents a bit of hope. What they are now allowing the could give this infant boy another chance at life. Lets pray that british justice known throughout the world for being fair, for being decent, and for being compassionate come through for baby charlie. Yeah bp uses flir cameras a new thermal imagining technology to inspect difficulttoreach pipelines, so we can detect leaks before humans can see them. Because safety is never being satisfied. And always working to be better. Shannon as President Trump wrapped up his visit to france, well show you another memorable moment they had. Once again President Trump and president Emmanuel Macron and engaging in a lengthy handshake. They pass on a hand up to leaders gripping for a long time. They were talking and never really releasing, but they are still together ate its clench and its move to the chest area, back and forth, now still maintaining the handshake and giving a little bit of a look now. Another handshake now to president macrons wife. At some point, you will hear the shaking and finally the release there. Now that 21st ladies begin their own handshake and that one is rather extended too. You can see they have learned nice kiss on the cheek and Still Holding hands, holding hands, we are going to get little timers. Bill our viewers know, a toaster, this is the back story for these two men the first time they met a week ago and there was shannon back at the nato meeting was the thing that we met. Bill there is lot of gripping. Shannon theres going to be a hashtag for appeared to be what i would suggest a doublefaced or metal. Melania was like, how do i do this . Their coming home right now. A lot of lives have been saved, a lot of people were not killed, no shots have been fired in a very, very dangerous part of the world and this is one of the most dangerous parts of syria itself. By having some communication antilock, we were able to have a ceasefire and its going to go on for a while. Bill think about the ceasefire in syria crediting his working relationship with moscow as a big reason why it is saved many lives. Andrew peek, they have had a few ceasefires before in the last administration, this is the first one in the Current Administration is holding for now. What do you suggest about the back channels between russia . And the United States in making this a success . I think the most important think in making this a success as a strong relationship between President Trump and president putin in their first meeting, clearly these are two men who respect each other, who understand how to use power internationally, and i think even though the President Trump does not necessarily have a prorussian policy, he understands how to deal with an adversary who only understands the language of force. Whatever necessary dash go ahead. Bill i thought the french president gave him support to his argument. Right around that same time they said this. We have a lot of discrepancies with russia. That is the current environment, especially in the east. Its a necessity to work together, to share these agreements. Bill they are pretty much saying the same thing. Absolutely. France is a critical voice in syria. France is the old colonial power in syria and are far more engaged in that conflict and we have been. The french president was badly embarrassed in 2013 when president obama lay down a redline and then didnt back it up. French support for american actions is incredibly important. I think there is an element of macrons position himself as Charles De Gaulle did in the cold war and that he saw himself as a bridge between the u. S. And russia or sort of a third way to communicate with russia. Bill very interesting. On air force one moments ago, tom bossert who works in the apartment of Homeland Security today gaggle with reporters and the issue of this came up and he went right to the issue of chemical weapons, as you just mentioned what he said this. The french are very strong in their commitment as is President Trump with his demonstrated air strike and not allowing anyone in the regime to use chemical weapons against anyone. Any additional attempt to do this will be met with a strong response from both President Trump and president macron. Bill thats what you get out of this two day meeting. With a strong response from President Trump and macron. Absolutely. It goes to show that Donald Trumps achieved more in syria in six months than barack obama did in six years. We see that from his enforcement of left and right limits on what the Syrian Government can do, the strikes against both the Syrian Government chemical facilities and both their proxies, their allies that look like they would attack the syrian kurds. It has overall approach to conflict that when we say something, we mean it. Thats a big change. Bill thank you, andrew. Back with us today, andrew peek in washington, d. C. , parried shannon we are getting information about Donald Trumps meeting with a russian lawyer adding a new layer to the russian collision. We will talk about it on the next hour of americas newsroom. Bill heard about snakes on a plane, how about eels on a highway . Accidents creating a slippery matter for some commuters. Can we at least analyze customer traffic . Can we push the offer online . Legacy technology can handcuff any company. But yes is here. Youre saying the new app will go live monday . Yeah. With help from hpe, we can finally work the way we want to. With the right mix of hybrid it, everything computes. What are all these different topped loaded meals . Its an american favorite on top of an american favorite, alice. Its mozzarella sticks on top of grilled chicken. Its cajun shrimp on top of steak. Its Labor Day Weekend on top of the fourth of july. Hotdogs. Its abe lincoln on top of george washington. Yonder. Its rodeos on top of rollercoasters. Its favorites on favorites, alice. Its very moving. Get your favorites on top of your favorites. Only at applebees. Bill rush hour traffic getting a bit messy after a truck filled with a live eels crashes and overturns any major highway in oregon. We see hundreds of the slimy ill sliding down the road in thick white goo. We are told a truck driver hit his brakes to avoid a Construction Zone to crash causing a four car pileup and leaving several cars covered in slippery slime. Thats what you get every day here in new york. Shannon there are trucks driving down the road at any given time with a cargo full of slimy live eels . Bill also known as dinner. Shannon that looks like something out of my nightmares. They scooped it up though. Keep your eyes peeled. The british courts have ruled in the case of charlie gard, allowing an american doctor to examine this little boy. Its up to the doctor testifying yesterday saying it is worth trying a new experimental treatment on the infant. Rancho company is live with funded for details. What can you tell us . Speak of the hearing has been going on for just under an hour now. Its going must more peacefully than yesterday. Yesterday, the parents of charlie gard clashed with the judge, they stormed out of the courtroom at one point. Today, more peaceful, also much more productive. As you are saying, the judge has allowed the american doctor, who yesterday gave testimonies that they thought would be worth or at least trying to use the experiment with drug on charlie gard. They have said yesterday in his testimony, he has a video link to the court that he thought the drug had about a 10 chance of helping charlie, but when he was pressed by the judge, he also said that he really needed to examine charlie gard before he could make that conclusion. The judge said he would be able to do that and he will be here on monday. If the case goes forward. He also named the specialist in the United States. He is professor dash from Columbia University medical center. He is a neurologist there. He is going to come out here to london on monday and then the week after that on the 25th, the judge will consider whatever he discovered during the examination and its only after that that the judge would get permission if he decides it is warranted for the boy to be moved to the United States and he would get permission to do that. In any case, the parents didnt exactly get what they were looking for at at todays hearing but things do appear to be going their way. Shannon. Shannon we appreciate the update, ryan. Thank you. Bill at this hour, President Donald Trump is on his way back home from paris and hes turning up the heat from 30,000 feet when it comes to health care, urging u. S. Senators to get it done. Shannon and we will talk to senator Lindsey Graham about that. Hes offering up his own version of doing that as well as house of Freedom Caucus member jim jordan coming up. If your governor says i can do more with this money than you can do it that in washington, i can give health care closer to home, deliver better quality than some of you in washington. That becomes a different political situation. Binders, done. Supercool notebooks, done. Thats mom taking care of business. But who takes care of mom . Office depot office max. This week, get this ream of paper for just one cent after rewards. Taking care of business. Shannon the pressure is on as President Trump pushes Senate Republicans to deliver on the promise to replace obamacare. President calling out Republican Leadership as he is now heading back to washington, urging them to do what is right for the American People. Its a big job ahead. Welcome to a brandnew hour of americas newsroom on this friday. I am shannon bream. Bill how are you doing . Shannon excellent. We are an hour away from our we can. Bill i am bill hemmer. Boasting confident in a successful outcome a day after Senate Republicans reveal their updated Health Care Plan, although its future remains in doubt. A president tweeting this a few hours ago republican senators are working hard to get their failed obamacare replacement approved, i will be at my desk, pen in hand. Do we have a good sense now of where the votes are at the moment, my . Bill, there is intense pressure on republicans to get this done after seven years of telling voters they would scrap obamacare. There were two early defectors, collins expecting concerns about medicaid funding, pulsing the bill keeps too much of obamacare. Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell must keep the wretch of his republicans conference together the selling point being all kinds of amendments can be considered to improve the Health Care Reform bill. One key republican talked about the roles of the majority is playing. Hes been he has been working pretty hard at this. Hes been a really good individual trying to get to yes on this particular piece of legislation. Some of which have different ideas at this point in the conversation. Hes been very, very good. I would anticipate and continue to have conversations with him throughout the week. Bill heller is certainly on the watch list, someone who is facing a tough reelection a battle in nevada, a state that Hillary Clinton won. Bill whats the play for democrats at the stage . They are picking apart this g. O. P. Health care plan, talking about components that they think will be bad for the American People. The Senate Democratic leader is directly trying to put pressure on g. O. P. Senators. Any republican who votes to proceed on this bill next week will have to look constituents where in the eye and explain wh. Why did they move forward on such medicaid. Why did they cut taxes for special interest . Another critical piece of information will come early or next week when the Congressional Budget Office weighs in with its analysis of the price and impact of this Health Care Reform bill. Bill thank you mike. They are on the hill setting the table for us. Shannon as President Trump returns from a second trip overseas, hes got plenty of issues waiting for him at home. First, the battle over getting Obamacare Repealed and replaced. And alerting information about donald trump, jr. ,s meeting with the russian lawyer. Turns out there was another Russian National in the room. Chris wallace is the anchor of fox news, sunday. Join us live. Good morning. What you make of this trumpmacron lovefest . It seems like they had a great time together and President Trump was well received. I think it went great. After last week at the g20 which some called the g19 because President Trump seemed out there against all the other leaders, not only from europe but the rest of the world. It is good to have us getting along with the world leader. Yes, they continue to have differences, but they continue to have differences on the paris climate accord. I think it was positive that President Trump and a president macron talked about all the things that define them of core western values and standing up to the threat of radical islamic terrorism. Good on both of them. I will also say quickly that that dinner last night at that restaurant in the eiffel tower, i just counted it up in my head and i think it was 3,000 calories per person. Shannon somehow, the first ladies dont look like they took a bite of it. They look like everyone is having a good time at that dinner. The president did tweet just moments ago that he had great conversations with president Emmanuel Macron and his representatives on trade, military, and security. Domestic issues were on the president s mind as he went there as well. This is what he said yesterday when he was asked about the situation involving donald, jr. I have a son who is a great young man who is a fine person communicating with a lawyer from russia. It lasted for a very short period. And nothing came of the meeting. I think its a meeting that most people in politics probably shannon the newest twist and this was at the russian born but apparently russian american citizenship lobbyist, somebody who may have had a connection to intelligence, theres a lot of maybes in there who may have been the second person in this meeting as well. What do you make of the new development . A little bit more serious than that. Its a dual russianamerican citizen but he also was a soviet. We are going back to the 80s now, a soviet counterintelligence agents with continuing ties to russian intelligence. I dont know how serious it was. Against, once we are told, we dont know this independently that nothing came of the meetings, but its one more case that there is a new revelation e and donald trump, jr. , and all the other people involved dont put out themselves the ends of coming out from the news media. I think this is the biggest problem here. I think there is very little legal jeopardy for donald trump, jr. , but theres a huge problem with the credibility of the white house because they kept saying there is no collusion, there has been no contacts, this is all a hoax, it is all fake news. And then it keeps coming up that people we havent heard about did have these meetings and of course this meeting of the 25th floor of trump tower involving the president s son, his soninlaw, and campaign chairman, Paul Manafort. They would be very well served certainly to get together, make sure that every meeting that ever happened, everybody who participated in every meeting every time they had beef stroganoff for a shot of stolichnaya, put it out there. Its going to come out anyway. Its going to be on your terms. Shannon this is a case this is not the world they operate in. They do know about Opposition Research and people reaching out. Its something campaigns do all the time and if this is something that they were maybe amateurs that stumbled into this meeting and found it wasnt what they thought it was, maybe a pretext to get to what they really wanted to lobby about. It was something they had dismissed as being apolitical. But remember, you got it black and white, those emails between donald, jr. , and the british former tabloid publicist, in which he said that this came from the russian government and was part of the russian effort that tipped the election to trump. His son, donald, jr. , says that i love it. Maybe you can say that for donald, jr. , maybe you can say it for Jared Kushner, you certainly cant say it for Paul Manafort who ive known since the 80s and at George Hw Bushs campaign. Youve also got trumps nominee, the president s nominee for fbi director, christopher wray, sitting at a hearing this week that you know you should do if you get involved with an assistance from a Foreign Government or agent, you should tell the fbi. Shannon thats what people on both sides of the aisles were heard saying similar things this week. I want to talk to about health care because its the heavy lifting for the president and hes been tweeting all about it while hes in paris. A lot of pressure on the senate to get this done. They are awaiting the cbo score on monday and proposals. What do you know . I think they are in real trouble. They need 50 votes. To pass it and then do one vote from the Vice President. When i say pass it, even to bring it up, as you say, to debate, a motion to proceed. Two senators have already said no, ran paul on the right, and Susan Collins in the middle. That means they have to hold every other vote and they are probably ten others out there who have great doubts about this. I think there is a great chance that they might not even get to vote on it because they might not even get to debate it, in which case, doesnt mean that repeal and replace is dead, but it means they will have to go back to the drawing board. Shannon chris, we want to make sure people know, thank you very much, what key players who have this weekend on all these topics. Turn to fox news sunday, chris will have jay sekulow, many, many topics for them to talk about. Plus, kentucky senator rand paul, you know he is one of the no votes. Is there any way to win him over to the s . Chris will talk to him about that. There will be your local listings for sunday morning air time. I dont miss it. Bill new developments now in the nucleariran deal. You remember that President Trump repeatedly said that he would tear up that deal, but now we are hearing that the Trump Administration is likely to recertify irans compliance. Top republicans on the hill are not happy about there. Rich edson has a story from the state department. Good morning. The Trump Administration must decide by early next week whether to certify if iran is complying with the iranNuclear Agreement paired signed two years ago today by then secretary of state john kerry in vienna, the Obama Administration entered into this agreement and congress had required the Administration Certified if iran is holding up its end of the deal and every 90 days. Thats coming up at the beginning of next week. They tell fox news that the Trump Administration is examining the u. S. s entire iran policy and it will adhere to the Nuclear Agreement during that review. The review of the iran policy is still going. That is still underway. I know people have a lot of interest in this. We have said, and the administration has said, that at least until that review has been completed that we will adhere to the jcpoa, that has not changed and we will ensure that iran is held accountable to its requirements. Four republican senators have sent a letter to Rex Tillerson not to certify iran and compliance reading we believe a change of that policy is long overdue. As we near the end of another 90 day review. My u. S. Are best served by a sober accounting of irans jcpoa violations as well as the regimes aggressive antidestabilizing behavior. The Trump Administration has increased sanctions against iran separate from the Nuclear Agreement. It was destabilizing activities, supporting extremism, missile and weapons program, and other publication. They Trump Administration says it wants to take all of that iran behavior into consideration once figuring out what the policy towards iran is going to be. There is no day as to when the Administration Says it will release its new policy bill. Bill thank you, rich. Rich edson from the state department. Shannon a terror attack targeting a place of worship as gunmen opened fire at one of the holiest sites in jerusalem. New details on that just ahead. Bill she is no stranger to controversy and now a date has been set for susan rice to testify before the House Intelligence Committee. Congressman jim jordan talks about that life straight ahead. Shannon releases a new g. O. P. Health care bill after making not everyone on board. Senator Lindsey Graham joins us next to talk about his plans to change that, but heres a Vice President. Will finally give the American People the health care they deserve built on the american principles of freedom, freemarket, choices, and statebased reform. Honey . That walled compound has been a flashpoint for violence for centuries now between israelis and palestinians and will remain closed for the rest at least for the rest of this day. Shannon President Trump returning home is a new Senate Health care plan draws fresh criticism. Two senators now looking to appeal to the partys majority with amendments to the bill, but before leaving france, the president reminded lawmakers about how serious he is about getting this done. So important that republican senators underwrote leadership of Mitch Mcconnell get Health Care Plan approved seven years of o care disaster, it must happen. And join up in one of the senators. Lindsey graham come good to see you this morning. You offered up an additional alternative to this and a heavy focus here is ons spending as much money as possible back to the state so they can decide how they want to deal with it. If they want to grow anything out and get a much more Consumer Freedom of choice, they have the money and chance to do that. Your theory being that if you can convince governors to get on board with the plan, there senators will vote accordingly. Its prettys heart for a senator to define government when it comes to health care affecting their state. We are going to take all of their money we got around obamacare and all of the policy and get it out of washington, send it back to the state so South Carolina can come up with its own way of dealing with health care for south carolinians. California could do something else. You cant spend on roads and bridges. You got to spend it on health care but we will give you the flexibility the obamacare does not. If we do this, thats the end of singlepayer health care. If we dont do this, one day, it will take over all of health care to send the money in policy back to the individual state. Washington will not take over health care. Shannon will he get you to 50 votes . You have a couple that have leased or gone for good. We could be wrong, senator rand paul and Susan Collins, it sounds like at least one of them is not voting or both of them are gone. Can you get this to even get to start the debate on the bill itself . I dont know. I hope so because mitchs idea is much better. He repeals individual mandates, repeals employer mandate, protects provisions that you are not locked into buying just an obamacare policy if you are 22 and want to buy something other than ou obamacare policy you c. Heres what i hope we can do as republicans offering alternatives to obamacare that makes sense and will actually help people. Heres what makes the most sense to me. The government closest to the people is usually the best government, how about the idea that health care closest to the people is usually the best health care . Ably allow states to do their own thing with some limitations, you got to take care of sick people, you cant spend on roads and bridges, i bet you this, some democrats will have a hard time going back home and telling their constituents i dont trust you and our government and our state to run health care. Its got to be run by some person in washington. Thats a pretty hard list for some of these democrats. Shannon lets talk russia too. You think we havent been nearly as hard as them on them as we should be. It sounds like the Judiciary Committee wants to hear from donald trump, jr. Will that happen . He says he wants to testify, donald, jr. , does, he said that on hannity. Hes welcome to come to the district mean 80. I want to know all things about russia, if the ukraine was involved helping clinton, i want to know that. France is our friend. Great meeting with the french president and President Trump. Russia tried to destroy democracy and all over the world and interfere in our election. I want to get to the bottom of it. Donald trump, jr. , says he wants to tell his side of the story, i think that would be a good idea and he will be welcome to do it in a judiciary shannon what is is about you making some comments yesterday . That President Trump could wind up getting four Supreme Court appointments. What is that all about . Week got one. We have a couple conservatives who may decide to step down and let younger conservative take their job. All i can say is that the Supreme Court vacancies will come in the next two or three years, maybe they wont be any, but they could be three or four. Its a big deal. I was telling those young republicans that our party needs to deliver on health care. The better way of doing health care is let your state to it, not washington cut your taxes, rebuild the roads and bridges, and give us a strong military. President trump has a really good agenda, this russia thing is standing in the way. I agree with chris wallace. All things russia need to be on the table. Its hurting us. At the end of the day, the Supreme Court is very much in play as in terms of the number of justices that can be replaced in the next four years. Shannon you know what happens when you say things like that. Speculation starts. Senator, keep us uptodate on health care, your plan, and how it all shifts out. Have a great weekend. We want in moment here, we have seen everything from benghazi to unmasking americans. Now susan rice will tell her story, testifying before a House Committee next week. Congressman jim jordan will join us on that next. Your brain changes as you get older. But prevagen helps your brain with an ingredient originally discovered. In jellyfish. In clinical trials, prevagen has been shown to improve shortterm memory. Prevagen. The name to remember. The president calls it a witch hunt, he calls it a hoax. Others have said, others who are particularly fond of this administration have admitted that there is no they areare. Again, what kind of money are we going to spend by the taxpayers having this incident investigations and there are many of them. Bill there are many indeed. That was Killian Conley earlier today on fox friends. There will be a major hearing next week that features a susan rice. She will testify before the House Committee as part of the investigation. Jim jordan, good morning to you and thank you for coming back here. While matt, this could be something, or it could be nothing. What do you want to know . Do you want to ask names and if so, why . Theres a finite number of people in the Obama Administration who had the ability to unmask these names. Some of those people who have that ability were these very same people who are not square with the American Public in the aftermath of the and by gods a tragedy. When she comes in front of the committee, you need to ask her if she did that and if so, what was the motivation. Thats what we need to find out. Bill this is important because there were those on the trump team that thought this team was spying on them. We dont know. All i know is that susan rice misled the American People after benghazi, five times she went on Major Networks and told the American People something that she knew was not accurate. I sent on that committee for two and a half years. This same individual has the ability to do that and allege that she had done that. Did she do it and if so what was the motivation and how did it all unfold . Bill is this the venue to get the answer . I would prefer it to be public, frankly. Its going to beat intel committee, it will be a closeddoor hearing. I prefer to be public. Maybe at some point it could be, depending on what they learned there. We need to keep all this in context, theres been all this focus on russia, but understand, susan rice, loretta lynch, jim comey jim comey, jim comey testified a few weeks ago under oath that as a direction of thes attorney general, the fbi director of misled the American People when he called the clintn investigation a matter. We should be having theres been some key questions. We learned this week that james comey puts classified information on some of these memos. Maybe there some reason why he found he wasnt going to prosecute secretary clinton because he was doing the same thing. I would like to ask you some of those questions too. This whole area we need to keep it in the larger context. Bill also on susan rice in this larger context is what you are saying. Exactly. Bill larger context of what . Theres been all this focus on President Trump and the russians, i know thats important that what we have learned this week from donald, jr. , but lesser member of the American People wants a mac want the truth of all of these issues what susan rice may or may not have done. We knew what james comey did because he testify to it and we know that he released a memo to the friends at the New York Times at the stated objective of creating momentum to get a special counsel and not just any special counsel but his good friend, his predecessor, his friend bob mueller. This all needs to be looked at so the American Public and get the truth. Bill does susan rice know how this russian lawyer was allowed into the country . I dont know. She got the special immigration parole status. She was here after that. I dont know that. She may come, thats a great question to ask her as well. Bill jim jordan, thank you for your time. The hearing is in about a week. Talk to you before then. Shannon former House SpeakerNewt Gingrich said the media is in a desperate frenzy to find any dirt on President Trump and russia, so are the russia probes just being blown out of proportion and are they stopping the president and congress were getting real things accomplished . Flash flooding spreading across the midwest. Details on that next. We are going to pray that this is it, this is as high as it goes, nobody needs more water. Its done enough damage. We are going to get some sandbags and hope they are suggesting people evacuate, but we are going to wait it out. Whoooo. Finding the best hotel price is now a safe bet. The marine corps now releasing the names of the 16 Service Members who died when their plane crashed in mississippi on monday. On board, at least six marines and one sailor. The group was flying to arizona for training. A senior officer said the plane suffered a mid air failure. Its the deadliest marine corps plane crash in more than a decade. Bill democrats and the Mainstream Media going to town with the russian matter. My next guest writes this on his website. President trump says the sun rises in the east, the collision with rasa. That is Bernie Goldberg up your letter just a minute. First Newt Gingrich goes a step further last thing on the story with martha. The news media in this country is in a frenzy and its desperately seeking something that they know something was wrong, they just dont know what it is. Every time something comes up, it was grossly exaggerated. Bill here is burning out. Bernie goldberg, welcome back. He wrote this piece about the media but you also wrote it about republicans and democrats were looking at American Culture different. This is part of what you write on screen. They dont agree on much these days. Its no surprise that a new poll and a Key Research Center sews that the right in the left cant even agree on whether colleges are good or bad for america. According to appeal, only 46 of republicans view colleges in a positive light compared to 72 of democrats. Explain that. First they want to give credit to National Review that ran an excellent column on the same topic. In 2016 when donald trump ran and will make the election, at least in part by using the media as a standin, as a punching bag, republicans and independents who lean in that direction do not like and do not trust the socalled Mainstream Media. But theres a another liberal institution that they dont like and thats academia, colleges and universities. They dont like radical professors. They dont like race hustlers who want to Graduation Ceremony from only black kids to take part in a certain graduation. They certainly dont like pampered left wing students who shout down conservatives they dont like. If running against the media worked for donald trump in 2016, why wouldnt running against leftwing academia work for republicans in 2020 . I think it might. Bill heres another one from your case. The same survey shows that republicans, by about 81, 85 to 10 because the news media has a negative effect on the country, and only 44 of democrats in the news media have a positive effect on the 46 per say its influence on the country is negative. Thats from democrats. Even a plurality of democrats are no longer fans of the media. How did this go so wrong . Is it different from now than before . Its a different and that its getting worse. Its getting worse. Its not new that conservatives dont like the media. I wrote a book that came out in 2001 called biased. That was groundbreaking at the time when i basically said conservatives are right. I wasnt conservative at the time. I am now, but i wasnt then. Its gotten worse. The coverage of donald trump, his is relentlessly negative. I dont think its fake news. It is relentless negativity a form of bias in and of itself . Yes, i think it is. As a result, more and more republicans and independents who lean in that direction dont trust the media, 80 or 81 , whatever it was, and the plurality of democrats dont believe and dont have a high regard for the media. Thats not a good thing because in a free country, you need people to trust the Mainstream Media. But in a free country, you need not only a free press, this is important, you also need a fair price, and i dont think we have that. Bill i think the point on the media has been talked about a lot. I dont think this point about College Campuses has. You are making the case that you can use it as you can use it in your favor in four years. Thats precisely the point. Again, i want to give credit for a guy who put me onto this in the National Review. Thats precisely the point though. Republicans, if they are paying attention, will come to the conclusion that a liberal institution, the media, was a good punching bag in 2016. Wasnt the only issue. The economy is always the number one issue but it was an important issue. Well, theres another liberal institution that they dont like or trust either and i think for good reason, and these are regular folks out there in Middle America who see these pampered snowflakes shouting down people they dont like, always conservative that they dont like. This is an idea to run on next time around. Bill this is a cultural thing you are addressing. Whats different now then lets say the 1960s if there is any difference . I think it keeps getting more and more annoying, and annoying isnt Strong Enough a word. I think regular people out there, regular folks out there in Middle America say, i know these elitists dont respect mei know they think i am a right wing there, regular folks out there i yahoo, i know they dont think a smart as they are. All that went into Donald Trumps victory. I was kind of elitism. I think colleges are the most liberal institution in america is academia. The americas newsroom is a close second. Academia is number one on the left wing cultural list, and a republican who sees that and who takes advantage of that, i think well have an issue to run on. Bill interesting point. Bernie, thank you. Bernie goldberg, there he is. We will see him again. Shannon severe thunderstorms moving through the midwest burning heavy rain, flash floods, mandatory evacuations now underway in central ohio with high routers surrounding homes near columbus. Additional rainfall is expected this weekend making matters worse were already flooding is a major issue. In illinois, home owners are doing what the hand to keep rising water from creeping in. Unfortunately, i slept. I couldnt keep my eyes open. I want to sit and keep guard. It is what it is. Cant fight mother nature. Is it winning . So far. Shannon approaching a near record a level of areas may not crest until next week. Bill in the meantime, we are getting at here in the east. Look outside our window here. Sixth avenue. Shannon hope you brought your umbrellas today. Bill this is not how july is supposed to look. We are all in it together, folks. In a moment here, democrats hard at working. Trying to recover from election loss of 2016. Some of the last have a method for the party, do not focus too much on President Trump and his supporters or you will risk losses for years to come. Sound familiar . We will talk about that in a moment. Shannon in one neighborhood had a very sinking feeling, check out the image, a giant sinkhole threatening homes and it is likely to grow. Whats the story behind Green Mountain coffee and fair trade . Lets take a flight to colombia. This is boris calvo. Boris grows mindblowing coffee. And because we pay him a fair price, he improves his farm and invest in his community to make even better coffee. All for a smoother tasting cup. Green mountain coffee. Binders, done. Supercool notebooks, done. Thats mom taking care of business. But who takes care of mom . Office depot office max. This week, get this ream of paper for just one cent after rewards. Taking care of business. Bill a sinkhole in florida swallowing two homes and a boat. Officials say its only getting bigger. That whole opening this morning in land o lakes, an official statement says it started about the size of a small Swimming Pool but it is growing now, surrounding homes are being evacuated as a precaution. Shannon progressives now warning the Democratic Party not to focus too much on trying to win back a core group of donald trump supporters. Arguing and said that they should vamp their message to minority voters or risk defeat. One such voter spoke out during a focus group in an article for the hill and he is quoted saying you are damn i dont have any i would vote for everyone of them. Maybe democrats would take it seriously too. Joining me now, net of brian. A former Obama Campaign consultant. Good to see you both. I want to give you both a chance to respond to that because it sounds like theres room for both parties. Ned, what can they do to repeal to the Younger Voters . I think one of the things i would hope millennials will want is jobs. I think republicans actually have a plan that they can show that they can govern that they can put the economy back on steroids and maybe get three or 4 growth. Millennial should be thrilled with that. Instead of graduating from colleges and moving with her parents, they might actually get a paycheck. The Democrat Party is on one side and you got the left and progressive millennials who have a different agenda than the working class thats been a traditional base for the Democratic Party. The thing that is fascinating to me about this article, they are concerned about 8 of the africanamerican millennial boat and a 6 of the hispanic Millennial Vote either not voting in 2016 or voting third party, which i love because they are missing the forest for the trees, 25 of the working class has voted for obama in 2012 either voted for trump or third parties in 2016. By all means, go pursue that small percentage of the vote because you are missing about 25 of your base. Shannon marjorie, you know that there are elections close as this one and Many National elections that we have seen theres three or 4 that youre going after and they say they are real concerns at the numbers show going after these minority Millennial Voters could help them fulfill that majority number they need. What do you make of this young person statement saying yeah, i vote for republicans and i would vote for democrats but they just take us for granted . I think it speaks to the general political climate. There are 46 million 1829yearolds in the country, when you look at the future of elections, that is where both parties to be focusing their energy which is on the new and evolving voter. 50 of millennials turned out in 2016 and 50 of those are people of color. That will be a critical audience, but truly, what they are listening for is the same thing the workingclass white voters are listening four. How does the economy impact may . What does this mean for jobs . What does this mean for my future family or me personally when it comes to health care in all of these topics . I think winning young voters especially in this climate, we talk about the negativity, and thats not something thats necessarily new, i think its been happening for years, and i dont think its winning anybody when we talk about media bias and we talk about what people tune into. What they are listening for is how is this going to help me, how is this going to help my community . That something both parties need to figure out how to talk about when it comes to these communities. Shannon we have some information on millennials and how they stack up as part of our current population. We will talk about where they are going because it will be critical moving forward. 23 now the total population. 30 of voting age. 38 of the primary working age. We are told by 2020, they will be the largest voting bloc in the country. Thats not far away, ned. No, its not. Being someone whos been involved for policy for about 20 years, i also understand that millennials are highly unreliable when it comes time to go vote. Guess who is reliable, its the working class. The democrats can go pursue this, i understand that. Of course i would love to see more millennials be actively engaged. I was up to see more of these minority millennials understand that the Republican Party actually has a positive vision for their future. When it comes time for election season, the most reliable voters are the working class. I want the Democrat Party to continue down this path because right now they are hurting. They lost almost 1100 people between 20102015 at the same level. Its the most that the parties ever had in its history. They can go down this path and pursue some of this, but the rust belt has been broken for the Democrat Party and they dont seem like they dont want to go pursue repairing that. Shannon marjorie, is that fair . To go again, i think there are some things that both speak to the audiences as well as millennials. I think the key with the millennials is getting them registered. What we know about voter behavior is once it becomes official, want to become something that people get involved in or register to do, they do engage. Thats where im on the institute of texas and we are very focused on civic engagement. We are looking at those millennial audiences because they are the future of the country. For better or for worse, they are going to be the future voting population. Getting them engaged now is where it matters. Again, i agree. Adding them involved in a way that they are impassioned, running out, something they believe that actually makes a difference. Thats something we are sitting across the board that in general, americans are feeling like their vote doesnt matter and they are feeling like they arent engage because i dont understand the issue. A lot of it is figuring out how we as the media need to talk about the issues and a way that people understand them. But the main stream media doesnt want to talk about some of these issues and some way theyve enabled where the Democratic Party is going because theyve allowed them to be distracted. Instead of actually talking about a positive vision for the future, they are all chasing these fairy tales of collusion. If people do not feel engaged because their vote doesnt matter, many times we saw in the study as well, these people did not apologize for staying home or voting third party, knowing that it left them with donald trump and that was part of their choice. He is now the president , like it or not millennials, we will see what you do in 2020. Thank you both. Bill in a moment here, the flying drone will be come a bigger part of our lives.
