Incredible News Conference this morning, welcome to americas news headquarters, it is nice to all of this, you take a minute to recognize the six euros and what they did, it is incredible when you look listen to them second by second what happened. Alicia absolutely, absolutely heroes even though they dont think they are, im alicia acuna, the investigation into the bombing intensifies and we are learning federal agents have raided the home of a possible person of interest. Charles watson is on the ground in nashville with everything that we know so far. Fastmoving investigation federal authorities are looking into a person of interest in connection to the rv explosion and down till nashville on Christmas Day, yesterday fbi and etf agents rating home in suburban nashville conducting the court authorizing activity seeking evidence as part of the investigation, however, authorities have not publicly name the person of interest in this and they have not said what led them to that address. Meanwhile for the first time we are hearing from six hero officers who ran into danger moments before the rv blew up on christmas morning. I feel very lucky to be alive to say hello to my family and as well as all the other officers, i am very grateful for the Quick Response from fellow officers. Here is a look at the aftermath of the massive explosion, fox getting an up close look at the extended damage and the exclusive video. You can see the complete and utter desk under devastation, windows blown out, burnt cars, city block looking as if its in the middle of a war zone and the devastation in the video the chief of police in nashville says if those officers had not acted as quickly as they did we would be talking about a mass casualty event today. Alicia Charles Watson in nashville, thank you. Leland a little bit more from the Police Officers later, much of downtown nashville is shut down and that includes a busy entertainment, river district that includes restaurants, bars, Country Music bars as well owner of pride and glory tattoos, shea shop one of damaged by the blast, we looked down side avenue there is a lot of stores that do not exist anymore, is yours one of them . Yes, mine was there in the middle that on within feet. It is gone. Leland i cannot imagine what 2020 has been like for you in terms of your store probably relies a lot on the tourist and the folks who come down to party and listen to Country Music and you can get attached to, this is gotta be the worst indian you can imagine. It is been a roller coaster of a year with the National Tornado and all the covid stuff going on and now this, it is been quite a roller coaster and it does not stop it seems like. Leland were looking at the big brick building at t building in the overhead shots. You are directly across the street from it . Directly across the street by 172 in the interes interest. Leland were you able to talk anybody that lived above your apartment who can add stuff to a little insight to what happened what the police said when they were knocking on doors . I talked to a few people downtown, a couple of friends and people that live down there and worked on their, yet it sounded like a war zone from what i hear and its a complete nightmare. Leland you heard from the Police Officers who arrived and all of a sudden heard the rv talking in the computerized voice, evacuate, evacuate, i dont think it should surprise any of us the Police Officers would have the presence of mind to run towards danger and thats what they signed up to do but some point down there and this is your neighborhood i can imagine you know some of these officers and they are protecting your businesses. Yes, first and foremost i want to thank the officers that were down there risking their lives to evacuate everybody and save everybodys lives. It is very, very fortunate no one was killed and no one got too injured in the blast. Those officers downtown, our metro cops are absolutely wonderful, they are great and always there to help and its a blessing they were there. Leland i listen to a lot of News Conferences in my time and this morning, you could almost not turn away from every second as they describe detailed it deal what happened. What happens to your shop now, i dont know what employees you got but its gotta be a couple of months before you can even think you can get back down there right . Right now were staying positive, first or going to take each step to keep our minds straight and all the guys and i are going to stick together in the team and were going to get through this, theres no doubt in my mind we will be back as soon as possible. As far as the building and location it is still all under investigation and all blocked off. Leland you cannot get in to see whats left. You cannot really see much. Leland as i understand you had one of the best locations in town and nobody knows what the street is good to be like. Exactly, that street is our heart and soul and thats been our lives for years and its truly tragic but you know were going to go and make sure everybody in the world, the country in the city of nashville are going to represent the same nashville strong and come back better than ever and i truly truly live on that. Leland pete, your great ambassador for that and the evenness in your tone of voice, i know theres a lot of emotions going through you, we appreciate you being with us. Pete gibson pride and glory tattoo, next time im in nashville im going to come see you, im not get a tattoo but all come down to your new shop itll be wonderful to see. Come down and say hey. Leland good disuse entered to see you. Alicia President Trump refusing to sign the coronavirus aid bill until checks are raised to 2000, this comes as it expires leaving Many Americans in economic limbo. Mark meredith is live in west palm beach, florida where the president is spending the weekend. Lawmakers for both parties are urgently asking for the president to sign the covid stimulus relief bill as well as a broader Government Spending package. The reason they say millions of americans need help right now but the president is demanding more from more money be spent on individual stimulus payments. The problem theres quite a bit of a deadline would make each of these payments get out in a certain amount of time but lawmakers say this is not the time to negotiate. You cannot diddle around with the bill, signed the bill mr. President and immediately monday, tuesday, we can pass a 2000 direct payment for the working families of this country. We passed it because this was the agreedupon number, is what the president negotiated but to play the switcheroo game which is like i dont get the point, i do not understand what is being done. Unless its to create chaos and show power and be upset because he lost the election. The house is going to be meeting tomorrow to vote whether or not to do the stimulus payment increase again but its unlikely that passes the house the gop senate to go on board. President trump is pushing lawmakers to give in to his demands and well hes not doing it on camera hes tweeting quite a bit including a tweet yesterday morning, i civilly want to get our great people 2000 rather than the measly 600 that is now in the bill. Also billions of dollars. The president has made it clear he was not happy with the amount of money being spent in four days to the larger 1. 4 trillion Government Spending package but as you heard from the lawmakers, this is the deal that has been worked out including with the president s treasury secretary and much of washington was caught by surprise. As for President Trump is not expected to go to d. C. Until the end of this week and he remains in south florida and bit at the golf club most of the day and no word yet if we expect to see him on camera this afternoon. Alicia thank you so much mark. Here to talk about how his state is navigating all of this is republican alaska governor, thank you so much for being here, we appreciate your time, i would like to pick up on the stimulus talk but really with the point on your state in particular because an opinion piece that you wrote for the Anchorage Daily News earlier this month titles a path forward for alaska, you discuss the 5 billiondollar recovery package included in your proposed state budget, you wrote it will help by providing nearly 5000 in relief to every qualified alaskan, hundreds of thousands of alaskans have been impacted by layoffs and reduced hours. Families have delayed trips to the dentist to medical care and behind in house payments and putting groceries on the credit cards. The shortterm relief is desperately needed and could begin as soon as march. The 5000, that is an eyepopping number but also is this your way of saying the states need to figure it out on their own one way or another with or without the federal government questioning. That is a great question alaska always does a good job on navigating some of these issues whether it be the pandemic or earthquake, other natural disasters but what weve had in alaska is a thing we called a Permanent Fund dividend, we chatted for almost 40 years, this is basically a share of the oil royalty that goes to all qualified alaskans. What happened the last couple of years is a statutory formula that is not been followed, we are asking the legislature to follow the statutory formula this year paying only half of the statutory formula filed last year, pay the remaining half of last year now and then this coming year the Permanent Fund dividend paid as soon as possible so we get the almost 5000 in the hands of every alaskan. This pandemic has been awful for the state of alaska. The oil issue was hit hard, the tourist industry was hit hard, the cruise ship industry, a lot of our restaurants, hotels, bars, and other businesses have been hit, people have been laid off. This introduction of this type of money in the economy we believe will get a number of businesses backup off of their knees in addition to that, we are also looking at a Capital Project in which people not only to work but to repair and build things that alaska needs. I agree with the president , the people of this country that need money in their pockets now so they can take care of the bills that they have been putting off especially those that have lost their jobs. This is the time to do it, not six month from now and not a year from now. Alicia the industry in alaska in the structure from which to exist does make you a little different as does your geography and how the pandemic has hit your state, lets look at the numbers that we have from your health department. Total cases for the state of alaska so far, 45479 total deaths, 200, a majority coming out of anchorage. I understand you hunker down order in the anchorage area, was this just anchorage and how did this for . It is just been increased for some time, anchorage is a firstclass city, the borough and the mayor of the city have elected to do this. Alaska has been open as far as the state since may. Although we have cases of the 45000 as you noticed, the number of deaths are below 200. In her hospitalization rates are actually falling. So are statistics that really matter, the death numbers and the hospitalization rates and numbers are some of the lowest if not the lowest in the country and part of the reason for that we got on top of the pandemic early on and we did everything that we could to protect her most vulnerable especially those in a lot of our congregate settings such as her senior centers. It is still gotten into the congruent settings but nonetheless our numbers are holding and we have a great vaccination plan and about 61000 the have arrived in alaska and we vaccinated 12000 individuals as a christmas so we are moving pretty rapidly. We believe over the next few weeks it will make a huge difference especially once we vaccinate all of the folks that are the most vulnerable, although firstline healthcare workers, we believe we will see the numbers go down further and i think alaska will be one of the first states to say that weve got this in the rearview mirror. Alicia youre definitely estate to watch, Governor Dunleavy we appreciated. They keep robbing me. Alicia. Leland david spunt has n following the story and the fbi is leaving the investigation and the nashville bombing, the Justice Department with breaking news. I just heard into Law Enforcement sources, one with the Nashville Police department, they say the person behind the bombing as far as their investigation was a man name Anthony Quinn warner, he lived at the home in tennessee, they search the home yesterday for several hours after having a search warrant, they believe he owned the rv that eventually blew up in downtown nashville we heard the warning saying 15 minutes to get out of the area, 14 minutes, 13 minutes and someone, the Law Enforcement tell me the voice of the woman that was on the recording appeared to be a computer voice or robotic voice, as for a motive, that is something that is under investigation at this time point. What i did here the authorities are not concerned that the city of nashville is under any danger, people can feel safe to go in nashville and they dont believe this is any sort of larger situation that may be involved with other cities, this appears to be a lone wolf situation but they do say at this point there investigation is that the fact that Anthony Quinn warner 63 years old from Antioch Tennessee who lived in that home is the person behind the blast, i also want to point out authorities believe mr. Warner is deceased from that last and originally when this happened they said they found human tissue in the area and they will do dna sampling to see if that is the case and if the Investigation Continues as far as the motive and how this happened, they also want to know how this person was able to put together any kind of bomb and was a something over months or weeks or was it over years. Several neighbors have told local affiliates in the area that they have seen the rv parked there for years, if you go and check the home address on google earth you can actually see an rv parked in the driveway, there is a future on google earth were you go back in time several years, i did that and you can see the rv parked in different places around the property in one part a few years ago facing front word and authority say that is the rv that is seen in the surveillance image from Second Street in nashville. Leland great reporting, just to put a bow on this so we understand, your sources are saying the person responsible for this is also the person who died in the blast . That is what they believe. Leland thats a working assumption, theyre not currently looking for anybody else, obviously that can change. They did not get into that, i asked and thats something they got into. There may be other people that mightve known or had other information but they believe that this person that i mentioned Anthony Quinn warner is deceased, they believe he is deceased but they are confident in that and they say thats a person under investigation. Leland you can imagine the trying to find family members to run dna test on the tissue that was found. Great reporting let us know if you get any more. Will do, thank you. Alicia a man is facing charges in connection to a shooting that killed three people in illinois bowling ally, the suspected shooter is been identified as 37yearold duke web, three others were injured during the incident which police are calling a random attack, two teenagers among injured and the third a 60yearold man is still in critical condition. Where something takes us to a place where we need to ask for help; and thats what food banks are here for. I asked dale if walmart would partner with us and he said, absolutely, lets figure out how to get this done. When you start working in an area and youre out in the stores, and in the community, you see the need. It was just the right thing to do. We do things differently and aother money managers, dont understand why. Because our way works great for us but not for your clients. Thats why were a fiduciary, obligated to put clients first. So, what do you provide . Cookie cutter portfolios . Nope. We tailor portfolios to our clients needs. But you do sell investments that earn you high commissions, right . We dont have those. Hmm. [laughing] that works. Leland welcome back, joe biden says President Trump needs to have signed the Coronavirus Relief bill, president elect saint that will be the first step in a series of actions, Jacqui Heinrich traveling with a president elect in wilmington, delaware. The president elect wrote a statement urging President Trump to sign the relief bill passed by Congress Calling at the abdication of responsible you with devastating consequences. Joe biden wrote in november the American People spoke clearly that now is the time for partisan action in copper mice, i would like to see them reach across the aisle and Work Together, President Trump should join them and make sure millions of americans can put food on the table and a roof over their head and this holiday season. Biden says pass is critical for unappointed benefits for 10 million americans and resources for Small Businesses while extending government funding like the military, he called a down payment on more action needed next year, biden has no public advance schedule this Holiday Weekend but the transition for potential nominees for three cabinet post Bernie Sanders asked about one of the shortlisted for attorney general Appellate Court judge Merrick Garland said there are stronger progressive options and claim the biden so far has fallen short on establishing a true Coalition Cabinet but republicans are working to keep bidens pick middle of the lane. The Progressive Movement itself is probably 35 40 of the democratic coalition. I believe the Progressive Movement deserves seats in the cabinet that have not yet happened. I know your previous guests probably would like them to move more to the left but i been pushing to keep them in a more moderate place where hes willing to reach across the aisle and Work Together with republicans. Biden is now more than two weeks late on a selfimposed deadline to nominate his pick for attorney general and last week he said there is no obvious choice in his mind. Leland perhaps, how the dots connect a little later, thank you so much. Alicia the senate ran off candidates are beginning the final push in georgia with over a week left until election day, here to talk about the efforts to help the gop candidate is Republican National committee can occasion directed jesse hite, thank you for being here, we appreciate it. Before we get started, i want to put up some numbers that you are familiar with, this is the real clear politics average of polls taken a look at the race. As you know things are razor tight, u. S. Seen david perdue, just ahead of jon ossoff but just by a slight margin and its very similar with Kelly Loeffler and Raphael Warnock, there also net connect, my question to you, where is the gop focusing right now . Obviously is good to be a very competitive election for the runoff, and unprecedented runoff so much at stake right now, the Senate Majority is on the line, david perdue and Kelly Loeffler and on the other side you have Raphael Warnock and jon ossoff over to aoc, nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer to pass the radical agenda in american history, we have a very robust president ial contact on the ground coming through the tv agger seen to take the message to those and make sure they show up on january 5 or sooner early voting is still open. Alicia there is so much drama surrounding georgia entirety since the president ial election in the Atlanta Journalconstitution in article printed yesterday, they have a quote from Gabriel Sterling the Voting System manager, he says even if there is a blowout election i think we will have people saying obviously it was stolen, we have close elections in the state, no matter what direction you go, that is going to happen, how concerned are you about the aftermath of this because if things are so tight now, what are the chances we are going to know hua winner is a week from wednesday. We are going to have 4000 pull waters on election day to make sure everything is above board the largest ever in state history and voters that do have concerns need to make sure that they show up in drones much like the president said where he told voters if youre concerned about what democrats can do, make sure you show up, vote early, vote often and take out the anger intern into action, they are the only thing standing in the way of democrats passing the radical agenda centered on defunding the police, medicare for all, green new deal, its basically a liberal wish list of progressive policies that you will see across our country. Alicia there are two issues right now that it may conservatively focused on right now, that would be the stimulus talks, and also the investigation to nashville starting with the stimulus talks and the president saying, and doubling down he wanted to thousand dollar check in the house taking it up tomorrow, how is that plane and how are republicans communicating this in georgia right now . The fact that the matter is the democrats sat on their hands for months for several different rounds from nancy pelosi to Chuck Schumer refused to go forward with common sense and would help Small Businesses and working families because they had a liberal wish list in nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer both suffered embarrassing on election day and now they are trying to cover up their action that the biggest difference between republicans and democrats republicans are pushing for more covid relief to make sure the Small Businesses can remain open and work with families to put food on the table and thats a doubly important. Alicia before we ran out of time i want to get to the investigation of nashville tod today, we saw five of the six Police Officer step forward to the mike and talk about the experience and some were very emotional, clearly they were heroes, i am curious is this something coming up with people on the ground as republicans bring up a time and again, defund the police that some on the left have used . Raphael warnock has called Police Officers dogs, bullies and gangsters in incredibly hostile view and rhetoric towards Police Officers, jon ossoff has said Police Funding should be on the line when talking about with their performance and whether or not they are taking air of the community, its a contrast with david perdue and Kelly Loeffler who holds back the blue the two candidates on the left jon ossoff and Raphael Warnock would help them pass the police agen agenda. Alicia jesse hunt, thank you so much for your time today. Leland we are learning new information about the nashville bombing including possible name on the suspect, what they are said about his motive when we come back. Alicia a fox news alert we are learning who officials believe could have been behind the National Christmas bombing. As david spunt was just reporting to sources are naming the suspect as Anthony Quinn warner, they raided his home last night and do believe he was killed in the blast. So far they have yet to determine a motive. Leland the Coronavirus Relief bill by the end of the week struggling renters face an avalanche of evictions, one ceo says he has a better idea than a second moratorium, our next guest is proposing a renter stimulus as a solution. What about the restaurant workers out of work, he says we want to combat the spread of covid, we should open more restaurants. Ceo, good to see you, we appreciate it. We have been told by all the politicians in new york and the governor in california that restaurants are the problem and you want to open them . I think theres two issues, first how will we stop the spread, the second what will we do about the millions of people whose livelihoods are being affected by the shutdown, it is easy to assume that shutting down Indoor Dining is the answer but it turns out the data, the science actually tells us something differently. If you look at governor cuomos own state data, what were seen less than 1. 5 . Leland we talked about that before, 1 of spread comes from restaurant, 75 comes from folks getting together their homes and christmas and thanksgiving and drink on tuesday night. How does opening restaurants stop the spread iq wrote . At the end of the day what people need is public safe spaces they can go to like restaurants where things are regulated, Indoor Dining or Outdoor Dining you do have social distancing and spacing, when you give nowhere else to go they are going to congregate and unregulated unsafe areas, by creating more areas that are safe for folks we can reduce the spread. The second thing we have to think about, who if you do shutdown millions of restaurants and millions of people losing their only sort of income while the federal government still hasnt gotten folks a stimulus check much less better unappointed benefits. One thing that is still in force is the Eviction Moratorium which is all well and good until you realize theres a lot of landlords were not millionaires and billionaires and they momandpop two or three buildings and they havent been able to pay their mortgages for months now, they might not get an Eviction Moratorium from the bank, who picks up the tab. We can try to figure out how the private sector can help solve the problem for both renters and landlords. Even though you have an Eviction Moratorium, renters are building up debt. To your point the landlords are building up debt in the Eviction Moratorium in the january and nobody wants to see hundreds of thousands of millions of people left out to dry. What we realized theres about 45 billion trapped in Security Deposits sitting there doing nothing, this is the money that landlords take when you move into an apartment to protect you against damages. For the last couple of years weve been working on this from the private sector thinking how we can make things more affordable by replacing cash deposits with low cost insurance, think when you rentacar you dont give 10000 in case you get into an accident, you get renters insurance for five or six or 7 a month. The same concept of housing. Leland if we look at the stats right now, 5. 9 occupied without paying rent, 75. 3 were currently caught up on rent payments, 18. 3 not currently caught up on rent, despite understand your idea you take the Security Deposit for the 18. 3 , 25 of the people, the Security Deposit gave back to them so they can move on and then they start paying the low cost renters insurance . At the end of the day we can put an average of 1400 back into peoples pockets today. Leland i want to play this really quick, this goes back to the beginning this was a chef we had on yesterday about reopening. Everything will time they close it continues to go up in the 2 3 week phase. Obvious is something has to change because were not the cause of the case is going up. Leland do you have any idea why these politicians seem so interested in closing restaurants as you pointed out the science has been on their side. At the beginning of the pandemic there was a lot of uncertainty in unknowns and there was some evidence that this might be spreading indoors. At the end of the day we have to be practical of the common sense solution, something you thought about on the show and i think right now the data is showing the regulations you prefer Indoor Dining are working. We do a fascinating piece on foxbusiness. Com i suspect we will hear a lot more from you young man. We appreciate it. Alicia an upscale california, restaurants facing major backlash, in Beverly Hills being accused of trying to the limitations by discrete new years eve dinner inside to go back. Both indoor and Outdoor Dining are currently banned in southern california. So for the restaurant has not publicly responded to the allegations. Leland we shall see. New York City Police say they need your help as a search for six people who were suspected of committing a hate crime on the subway, this as crime in new york skyrockets. Well be right back. Avoid grapefruit during treatment. Ask your doctor about living longer with kisqali. Alicia new York City Police are searching for six suspects in connection to a hate crime on the subway, this incident is many in the surge of Violent Crime throughout the city. Aishah hasnie has the latest. That is right, 2020 was a blood he year for new york city whether gun violence or subway violence, we saw plenty of it and police are looking versus suck specs who they say attacked a woman on the subway who were not wearing a mask, Nypd Hate Crime Task force is on this because the group made antiasian statement related to coronavirus while they were repeatedly punching the woman in the face. Also, on Christmas Eve and nypd cop shot in brooklyn while responding to a Domestic Violence situation, he was saved by his bulletproof vest and last night reports of two people shot dead, three wounded and four shootings in brooklyn and the bronx. Gun violence is up 103 so far this year compared to this time last year, the president seen it happening because antipolice rhetoric and bail reform and of course defunding the police. What were doing to another hospital, we stood here and said the same words, while we would love to give them a break, why is this happening, why does it feel bold enough to shoot a Police Officer, that the question you have to ask and we have to answer. In a recent interview with the New York Post the nypd Police Commissioner recently said he believes the number one priority in the city has to be getting the illegal guns off of our street. We went Aishah Hasnie in new york. Thank you so much. Grocery store and restaurant employees are working to the pandemic to help bring food to our table, our next guest found a way to help them back. More on that next. Where we need to ask for help; and thats what food banks are here for. I asked dale if walmart would partner with us and he said, absolutely, lets figure out how to get this done. When you start working in an area and youre out in the stores, and in the community, you see the need. It was just the right thing to do. Leland we talked about this a lot Grocery Store workers and Restaurant Owners are facing challenges while looking to the pandemic. One supermarket ceo is bringing america together by lending a hand to both of these groups, the very hardworking supermarket workers in the restaurant workers who are having a hard time, the ceo of snooks market, todd, a market in st. Louis ms. Hunter missouri. You bought 200,000 worth of gift cards and handed it out to 14000 of your teammates, you each got 15, sometimes restaurants would be considered a competitor of a supermarket, why did you do . Thank you and good afternoon. Were a familyowned business and weve been in business for 81 years and we often talk about being a company of families and in this case we thought about our food family, and broader than just her own business, we thought about those that add such vibrancy in your communities and those of the restaurants and restaurant workers. We thought it was a winwin situation, we can think her teammates who have been working so hard this year to the whole pandemic while paying it forward to a degree and providing gift cards for our teammates that they can use at a restaurant within 5 miles of their work locations. We just thought as we said a real winwin. Leland i can imagine the reaction as some of the restaurants that have been having a brutal time trying to get through this and the momandpop owners, i know its such a great Restaurant Industry and so many single establishments, to salvage my businesses, what was the reaction as you call them up and said were buying thousands or tens of thousands of gift cards from folks. Andy the individual on our team that organized the whole thing relayed that many of the restaurants that they talk to, the owners were in stunned silence and a couple were brought to tears and one in particular said im working on my budget for january right now and i did not know how i was going to pay my rent and now with this check i pay my rent for january. Leland they can pay their rent and keep their employees employed as well, what a remarkable thing, what is been the response from your team is . It is been amazing, they love getting the gift card itself but what they really like that they can help by using that, they are helping others and our mission as a company is to nourish peoples lives and it goes more than just feeding our customers but taking care of her teammates and taking care of our communities, they really saw this as a way as we are living on what we profess. Leland and looking at a video and thats the one i used to go to as a little boy, its a special event and what you guys do now is special as well, it has not been easy for you guys as well, Grocery Stores about a great year but your cost have been going up in a lowmargin business and keep people healthy and safe especially your employees as a working through this, 200,000 is a lot of money isnt it. 200,000 is a lot but it is so worth it to be able to help those that are really struggling, frankly the supermarkets have been a beneficiary during this time because more people eating at home, the restaurants close down, it was good for us to take some of that and help out those that are struggling. Leland mr. Schnook, congratulations, carrying on a wonderful tradition and many more to come from the family, its good to see you, all the best. Thank you very much and happy new year. Leland to you as well. Alicia what a wonderful story and a wonderful company.
