100th night of unrest in portland. It was another night of chaos and violence. Police made 27 arrests. Police say a crowd of people marched toward a Police Precinct wearing gas masks, armor and shields. They threw rocks and battles for 90 minutes. They warned protesters to stand by as they do night after night. State police helped which is a notable distinction. Protesters arrested by state police as u. S. Marshals have deputized state police. The pictures appear to show the man believed to be the shooter, now decreased. 48yearold antifa supporter michael riya reinoehl as he appd to shoot Aaron Danielson. The mayor said she was asked whether to talk about bad acto actors and now here is the portland mayor on the ban guys, i cant hear anything. And here in vancouver, washington, outside of portland, theres a memorial later today for Aaron Danielson, the man who was shot and killed a week ago in portland. Leland. Leland also wait and see if the policies in terms of releasing people who have been arrested at these protests change or if theres any new bail conditions put on them. Outside of portland, well wait to see what happens saturday night. Alicia. And leland, violence erupting overnight in rochester new york in response to the released body cam footage of the march arrest of as violence continues in several other major u. S. Cities and alex hogan is live from new york city with more, hi, alex. Hi alicia, peaceful organized protests turning violent last night. Some protesters smashed windows, including this one of this bank that you see behind me. In total arrests from riots and aggressive instruments and two people atasered in making arrest. The unrest follows newly released body cam footage. The 41yearold died a week after being arrested and the medical examiners ruling the death as a homicide after complications with breathing and physical restraints. I am suspending the officers in question today, against the advice of counsel and i urge the attorney general to complete her investigation. I understand that the union may sue the city for this. Still, protests continuing last night at least two officers were injured and in cleveland, police are investigating the shooting of a detective who died last week. And as these protests continue throughout the summer, the people who are here at these protests, some protesters say you can still support of men and women of Law Enforcement while still being pro police reform. The two are not mutually exclusive. Alex hogan in new york city, thanks so much. Leland a federal judge temporarily banned Detroit Police using certain tactics, they can no longer use, batons, shields, choke holds against what are called peaceful protest, and detroit will breathe accused in the wake of George Floyds death. And President Trump is reacting to all the unrest this weekend and david spunt is live at the white house with more, hi, david. Hi, alicia. President trump has said multiple times the problems in portland, the unrest could be fixed in approximate any one hour. All she has to do is call and theyll help where the government can. The big story at the white house this weekend is that atlantic article accusing the president of allegedly saying that the american war dead are suckers and losers, and those are quotes from the atlantic article. The president vehemently denying this, were talking a november 2018 trip to france. The president did visit the cemetery, but not the cemetery which is two hours east. The white house said it was strictly a weather call and too risky two the president 90 minutes away from air force one. And the president addressed that atlantic report at a press briefing here at the white house. There just was not a possible situation. The helicopter would have been quick. They had is set, but the helicopter could never fly in that kind of weather and that is all documented, by the way. We have all of the information from and probably will release that information. Okay, and it info the white house did release yesterday, it was an email from the white house military aide that same time that says, quote, team, we are a bad weather call for todays lift. Chief of staff, general kelly will replace the president of the United States for todays ceremony. Please advise if any questions. Alicia, fox news Jennifer Griffin at the pentagon citing two former u. S. Officials on the trip to france, one was in a meeting to plan the trip to the cemetery. They confirmed part of the atlantic story, but its important to point out. Not the salacious parts about, quote, suckers and losers. Now, there is a part that Jennifer Griffin was able to confirm and reported on it earlier. Yesterday, also today, she was in a phoner with neil cavuto in the last hour and she says when the president , and im reading here because i want to make sure i say this correctly accord to go her reporting when the president spoke about the vietnam war he said, quote, it was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker, end quote. The official though did not go on the record to be named. Again, this coming from fox news Jennifer Griffin. The white house vehemently, aggressively pushing back on any kind of this reporting. Back to you. And Jennifer Griffin calls her sources unimpeachable. Exactly. David spunt, thank you. Leland joe bidens campaign is also talking about the atlantic article and perhaps Jennifer Griffins reporting in the coming days and Jacqui Heinrich with the latest on that, hi. Hi, leland. Yesterday the former vicepresident whose son beau won the bronze star after going to iraq, biden challengeded from the white house saying that someone has heard the President Trump on john kerry on john mccain and when place russia placing bounties on american soldiers. And who the heck he is, always cautioned not to lose my temper. This may be as close as i come. The president challenged the sourcing of that article in the atlantic, but the Biden Campaign flatly rejected his claim and telling that gaslighting is his hall mark, and telling lies in office. And how does that stack up to senior marine corps officials, dod officials and four other people with direct knowledge of these statements . Not well. Democrats are not going to let the story fade quickly. Last night at the trump hotel they projected the word trump disrespected our troop and above the doors of the name shake property. Bidens travel will be ramping up in the next several weeks and touching this on. Biden and his running mate are hosting separate events this week. Biden heading to michigan and pennsylvania at some point and travel will focus on Battle Ground state with an eye to windows. We can expect round tables and remarks certainly no big rallies given the coronavirus restrictions, leland. Leland very Different Campaign styles than the president in the coming weeks. Thank you. Thanks, leland. Joining us is colorado senator also up for reelection this fall, cory gardner. Thank you for being here on this saturday. Good morning, thank you for having me. Sure thing. And lets continue on the atlantic article because i want your response to not only the article, but the reporting revolving around it and the president s response. Whats your take . Look, im not going to comment on Anonymous Sources. What ive been able to do the last six years is work with president obama, and President Trump, and this is the new home of the Space Command and weve put more dollars in the Veterans Administration so we dont see the delays and mistreatment of our veterans as we have in years past. Im not going to play to Anonymous Sources about what may or may not have said and people like john bolton didnt think he heard anything like that. Fair enough. Lets talk about the senate race because thats what a lot of folks are talking about. You were once called by democrats the most vulnerable of the g. O. P. Running for reelection. And that this was your opponent, former colorado governor John Hickenloopers race to lose. Things have changed since then and now youre in a tight race here. But before i get your response. I want to play an ad that hickenloopers team has put up. Take a listen. No more help for struggling ranchers and Small Businesses. No cory gardner is on vacation, still silent about Donald Trumps failures on covid. All right, your response . Well, look, John Hickenlooper wouldnt show up to his own corruption trial tore violating state ethics laws. He was held in contempt the first coloradan in our country in our state to be held in violation of the state constitution. If he wants to talk about not being there, he should answer to the people of colorado why he didnt show up to his own ethics trial. And we should mention we have invited the former governor, John Hickenlooper onto the show, he has not responded or has said no at this time. We await that so we can give him a chance to reply to all of that, but i also want to talk to you about your ties to the president and first well put up some polling here. Back in 2016, Hillary Clinton beat President Trump here in the state of colorado. So you see those numbers there. She beat him by five points here in colorado and right now, well take a look at National Numbers with the president and joe biden, and you can see that he, again, is leading on a national scale. How concerned are you about trying to split the ticket here in colorado if it continues on the same track that it had in 2016 . If you look at the last elections, republicans have done better in every single president ial election beginning in 2008. Did better 2012, did better 2016. I actually think that republicans are doing better and better in colorado for the election of a republican president. Were going to talk to our four corners of our state the accomplishments the last six years, third most bipartisan member, passed more laws than the colorado congressional delegation combined. Weve moved to Grand Junction and something that John Hickenlooper wants to move back to washington d. C. , and along with joe biden. We started construction of a pipeline that john f. Kennedy authorized in 1963 and never got built until we got the money for it a couple months ago to begin construction. Look, John Hickenlooper is going to hide in his basement, maybe rooming somewhere with joe biden. We have accomplishments to talk about and i think the people of colorado know, the Brighter Future that we have showing optimism, cutting taxes, registry environment that increases investments and getting colorado to work. This has been a very expensive race, some of you and your opponent are some of the best known and recognized politicians the state has seen in quite some time. Thank you for joining us, senator gardner. Thanks for having me. And other side of this, the ceo of revell, thank you for taking time on a saturday morning. Getting back to Jacqui Heinrichs reporting with the Biden Campaign in wilmington. So much of the Biden Campaign is running against trump rather than for something. Were not seeing a lot of meat on the bone when it comes to policies. Is that enough . Well, i dont know if were not seeing a lot of meat on the bones when it comes to policies. I think you can look at a range of issues and find indepth policy proposals. Leland maybe im wrong, but i think joe biden said im not going to talk about the details of my tax plan ill get in trouble. I dont think thats true. The Republican National convention release add statement, their platform was we support President Trump. The real issue here, americans know whats on the agenda, beating the coronavirus and recovering our economy and night and day, joe biden has talk about how he would do that and also talked about the failures of President Trump to contain the virus, were now seeing outbreaks in south dakota and iowa, in maine, and really, were losing in terms of the world response. So joe biden is talking about the issues that of most concern to americans and you see, even in Senator Cory Gardner just before in that interview, republicans are playing defense. Theyre playing down their connection to President Trump, and talking about local accomplishments. Thats because President Trumps coat tails are less likely to pullen than drag down this election cycle. You make a good point. There was not a fullthroated defense of President Trump from cory gardner, really many republicans as relates to the atlantic article, the past 24 hours. You think after state like North Carolina, President Trump only down two points to joe biden. Why does he get 45 in a swing state . Welt, North Carolina wasnt always on the fable as a swing state and only recently joe bidens strength has pulled it into the purple category. I thought the fox news poll said he was up by four points. And i could be mistaken and that the numbers could shift. You dont see thom tillis running on a trump record there in North Carolina. I think that americans are really looking at the slow recovery of the economy because of the coronavirus numbers, the death toll, and theyre not seeing with a handle on it if bidens strength is growing, we put up pennsylvania, conceivably a state biden should have the most strength in, calls his home state. August to mid july, President Trump closes the gap by five points, biden loses four points. Its now well within the margin of error,so that doesnt seem strength bringing biden up in pennsylvania. You can pick a state and i could pick a state. I could pick arizona where hes up by eight or nine points right now. Really this is about the Electoral College and trump needs to pick up a lot of the states that hes behind in. The number of states that trump needs, swing states that trump needs to pick up is far more than biden. Biden is leading on the national level. Leading in arizona, hes leading in wisconsin, hes leading in North Carolina. Leland fair point. And in 2016, Hillary Rodham clinton was leading in all of those states as well. It didnt work out so well. And thats a fair point. Leland something to worry about . You need to campaign hard and you see the Bidenharris Campaign doing that. The more we find out about trump the less desirable to swing voters. Veterans and americans that sacrificed our lives for this country and him calling them suckers and losers and injured war veterans dont belong in a parade. This is something that led to his losing support among active military. Republicans generally win that pop lakes, first time we see joe biden up because people know when its reported in, not just in the atlantic, but the washington post, ap, and fox news, that the president has a history of saying this and he did it again. He doesnt respect the troops and thats a problem. Leland john roberts pointing out i think as anybody would, 60 days out is an interesting time for a story like that to drop. Laura, as always, appreciate your time and enjoy the california sunshine and the rest of the your weekend. Thank you. Leland bret baier is in for Chris Wallace tomorrow on fox news sunday. A lot more on all of this. Treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin and sanders both in exclusive interviews with bret. Check your time and channel. And media buzz, and tomorrow 11 a. M. Eastern. Alicia, all of these issues might come up. With just 38 days until the election, too. How youll protect your vote, whether you do it by mail or in person next. Limu emu doug you know limu, after all these years its the ones that got away that haunt you the most. [ squawks ] cause youre not like everybody else. Thats why Liberty Mutual customizes your car insurance, so you only pay for what you need. What . Oh, i said. Uh, this is my floor. Nooo only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Voters in ohio received their absentee ballot applications this week as the National Debate over mailin ballots and the president s own attacks on those escalate. Join us now to discuss how Election Officials are protecting this years ballots. Vice chair of the u. S. Election Assistance Commission donald palmer. Mr. Palmer, we appreciate you joining us here. The debate mailin versus absentee, or inperson voting really has only begun in earnest the past month or so. Im wondering in the past 60 days if theres anything that can be changed in the middle of the game. Hard to change the game plan, isnt it . Lee lapplaleland, you cant , the train has left the stationment those have gone out to ohioans, if they intend to vote absentee or by mail, return them. And after two weeks, think about voting in person, early voting in Election Office or on site or on election day, vote on election day at a polling place. Leland one thing, conceivably many things have been sacrosanct in america, but we hope in how theyre run. Youve got the president willfully on the attack of voting and a rigged election and the Biden Campaign not saying much about it, but trying to encourage people, as you pointed out. To vote early especially if theyre especially going to vote absentee or early voting and the like. Does the amount of politicalization over the election worry you . This is worries me a little bit, but we need to look at the facts and i hope the voters look at the facts as well. Mailin voting can be convenient. I did it as an overseas military voter, but also disenfranchised one time when my ballot didnt get back in time. Youre dealing against the clock. If you decide to vote by mail or absentee, you look at that process early and look at the calendar and make sure you get that back in time and track your ballot. Go to the website of your state or local Election Office and you can often track where your ballot is in the system. And so, i think both parties want their case, their voters to have their ballots count and be cast and counted. If you go online and you dont see that your ballot has been counted or received by the Election Office, give them a call. Make sure that your ballot will count. Leland i can imagine, theres a lot of phone calls. Bloomberg had an interesting piece this morning that matt druges website picked up about swing state Election Officials. Because many states, the head of the election official is a partisan office. We have that list to put up. Republicans, florida, georgia and nevada. Democrats control minnesota, pennsylvania, michigan, arizona and new hampshire. People only need to look back to 2000 to realize how important it is in terms of who controls the secretary of States Office in a swing state. Is there anything to do about this . I would say very little. I have a lot of respect for secretaries of state on both sides of the aisle. I often worked very closely with the republican secretaries of state and i have a lot of respect for them, but in the end, most will agree with me 99. 9 of the decisions that we have to make are nonpartisan. Its about making the trains run on time and that every ballot that is cast be counted. Leland mr. Palmer, 99. 9 may not be. Remember in florida in 2000, it. Well, im talking not about the ballots counted, about policy issues or policy decisions or where you come down on legislation. I think once youre in the realm of administering the election, most of the decisions, if not all are very nonpartisan in nature. And that the structure is in place. Leland as many as is being spent. I had one republican involved intimately in the 2000 florida recount say to me, he said theres not enough election attorneys in the world to fulfill what is going to come after the election this year. In terms of challenges, and suits, and recounts and challenges to individual ballots and ballots coming in late. It just seems as though were the train to your point at the beginning of the interview, has left the station. How sure are we that its not just heading into an inevitable crash . Well, theres two things that i can control and i can help advise the voters. Number one, the Election Administrators can do their job, which is to make sure that the process is in place and secure and accurate as possible and do it in a timely manner. There are going to be challenges. Beyond that, the voters themselves, they can take steps to vote early. Get their ballot in on time and make sure theres help reduce the number of controversies that may take place after the election. After that, we cant control the lawyers or the judges. Leland i dont think anybody can control the lawyers these days. Thats right. Leland you make a good point in terms of people not only trying to get their ballots in early, but both campaigns and parties are working to get their faithfuls ballots in early. Mr. Palmer, all the best. Thank you. Alicia President Trump is putting an end to antiracism training for federal employees. More on the crackdown and why hes calling them, quote, antiamerican propaganda. Thats up next. We made usaa insurance for veterans like liz and mike. When their growing family meant growing expenses, our agents helped make saving on insurance easy usaa. What youre made of, were made for. Usaa im a delivery Operations Manager in san diego, california. Weve had a ton of obstacles in finding ways to be more sustainable for a big company. We were one of the first stations to pilot a fleet of zero emissions electric vehicles. The amazon vans have a decal that says, shipment zero. Were striving to deliver a package with zero emissions in to the air. I feel really proud of the impact that has on the environment. But were always striving to be better. I love being outdoors, running in nature. We have two daughters. I want to do everything i can to protect the environment to make sure they see the same beauty ive seen in nature. My goal is to lead projects that affect the world. I know that to be great requires hard work. President trump has directed federal agencies to stop using taxpayer dollars to fund any training on Critical Race Theory or White Privilege, calling him divisive propaganda training sessions. And lucas is in washington tracking the story. Hi, alicia. Omb instructs to cancel all training that treats that america is a racist country. Appearing on Tucker Carlsons show to explain Critical Race Theory. Virtually all white people uphold racism and white superiority and asking white employees at the affiliations to accept their White Privilege. Accept their white racial superiority and accept essentially all of the baggage na comes with this reducible essence of whiteness. The memo says this port, all agencies are directed to begin all contracts or Agency Spending relate today any training on Critical Race Theory, White Privilege or any other training or propaganda effort that should either suggest one, that the United States is an inherently racist country or two, any is racist and inherently evil. Saying that the america is the land of opportunity or that the most qualified person should receive a job. These type of trainings creates resentment inside the federal government. The president omb director said, this is a sickness that cannot be allowed to continue. Please report any sightings, and under the direction of potus were directing agencies to halt critical race training theories immediately. So far we havent heard anything from the Biden Campaign about this. Well bring that to you as soon as possible. Alicia thank you, leland. Leland put this in context for the election less than 60 days away. President Trumps Campaign is it looking to minnesota as a possible Electoral College pickup this year. His son will be there this week, as will dr. Jill biden. En joining us is andrew lee. Good morning. As always, think about minnesota, obviously the past couple of months has put a strain on Race Relations there. How is the president s moves playing right now . Very well. You know, minnesota hasnt gotten a lot of president ial attention in the last several election cycles. Its been considered a pretty reliable blue state for a long time. Its never really been in play before and to have the president come here, the vicepresident come here, to have his high profile surrogates like his children come here and not only Pay Attention to minnesota, but focus on issues that are very important to minnesota economy right now. Things like mining, jobs in greater minnesota in the iron range. Its been very wellreceived here. Leland we look at why minnesota is in play and we put up the 2016 numbers. This was actually trump versus clinton 2016 and put up the rear clear politics average, biden versus trump. Biden plus 3. 7 right now. Clinton only won the state by 1. 5. Youve talked about those high profile visits. Brad parskell early on was talking about minnesota as a pickup state. Are there changing demographics there that makes it possible . I dont know how much has to do with changing demographic. If anything, it shifted to be more on the democratic side. I think its more about the dfl here, democratic farmers and labor party here, and they have avenue kind of neglected greater minnesota for very long time and kind of taken it for granted. Theyre been in power and didnt have electoral challenges. Leland when youre talking about greater minnesota, north where youve got the mining and south where youve got the farming. There were six democratic mayors who came out and endorsed President Trump. They surround the area north of duluth, minnesota, which is a key industrial town, been there for was there for a trump rally a couple of years ago. Is there enough votes in that part of the state to make up for the huge volume in the urban centers in minneapolis . Thats the big question, isnt it . Nobodys really sure. There havent been in the past. The iron range specifically has been a reliable democratic stronghold for a long time, but that has been trending more and more and more republican in the last few election cycles to where now, i think its going to go full republican. But the question of the sheer numbers. It really depend on turnout. Is the turnout in the twin cities going to be enough to overcome the kind of red wave that weve seen in the iron range in southern minnesota . Its going to come down, are people excited to get out and vote for joe biden and Kamala Harris . The question is what does it take to get people excited and out and vote. The vicepresident and the president are taking different tactics, race and violence in american streets. Different views of it. This started in may in minneapolis with the death of george floyd. Im wondering if that place that saw so much violence, is the scars and the wound of that violence still very real or are people now looking forward and looking more to Economic Issues . Oh, no, its the scars are very real. Weve lost large swaths of the city in the weeks following George Floyds death. We lost hundreds of businesses, thousands of jobs. Those are, i mean, its economic and its also racial and social unrest and social justice issues that are in play here and were saying and weve been hearing this for a lot of people that are out there protesting and are on the street, if your central key issue is systemic racism in the criminal justice system. You have a hard time being excited for a bidenharris ticket. Thats the question i have, is their record on that issue going to tamp down the turnout enough to swing minnesota to the republicans. Leland weve seen the president and his team to push on that as they do blacks for trump rallies and bus tours and the like probably one coming through minneapolis we look forward to your commentary on the radio. Alicia tennis star naomi osaka making headlines after she was stepping out on to the court with a mask with names of victims of Police Brutality. Well have that and other sports leagues next. Close to wrapping up its first week of play under a bubble. And joining us now to discuss this and preview the state of play with other sports i want to bring in fox News Headlines 24 7, jarrett max. Thanks for being here. We have a ton to cover today so lets get started with the u. S. Open making some nontennis news this week. We have got covid, black lives matter, lets start with covid. Yeah, ill tell you right off the bat, alicia, i wassen 0 the phone with a friend ever mine broadcasting in part for the u. S. Open and told me how impressed with the protocols regarding covid19 has not just been lip service. People do wear their masks around the ground and the grounds themselves. I asked my friend, is it odd because there are no fans around, the Largest Sporting event in new york every year over two weeks, yeah, there are players walking everywhere and almost set up like a camp for the players, they have athletic activities they can do all over the ground. So theres very much a different feel. Its odd, you walk into the match and a beautiful point played and no crowd and a player who might pump a fist, yeah, all right. A great match today two former champions Serena Williams against sloan stevens. But there are other topics talked about. Because of covid there are only two hotels in the area where players are staying, unless youre one of just a little bit more of a handful of players who shelled out bucks to rent a house, like Novak Djokovic and they have to spend money for security for the home. Why they didnt. And paid for security to prove theyre keeping safe under covid guidelines. Players waking masks, naomi osaka, shes been Wearing Masks for each mask, each one the mask after different name of an africanamerican who was killed and drawing more attention just to racial injustice. Alicia and quickly, i want to mention because in the tease we showed her wearing a mask with the name Ahmaud Arbery on it and i was talking about Police Brutality and mr. Arbery was shot and killed by two men who are now charged with murder in the state of georgia. I want to clarify that. We talk about this bubble in a bubble. Because they did have a test positive at the u. S. Open, but other sports have really figured out a way to make all this have work, havent they . Yeah, other sports are making it work. In the nba and in the nhl where theyve been operating, the end of the regular season and now the postseasons we havent had any players getting sick, whether be at nba bubble, which is in Lake Buena Vista on the disney grounds. On major league soccer. Baseball had issues, had a couple of hickups. The Miami Marlins had issues and cardinals had issues and they seem to be getting it under control. And you talk about the a tennis player this past week she complained the guidelines were so strict at the u. S. Open because she was playing cards with a player who was tested positive and she complained after she blew a lead and lost. Alicia cant always be happy. Lets talk about college nfl. Lets go with college first. They kicked off thursday night. Are fans allowed in . Fans are allowed into both events. Its not like everybody went running out. We have six more games today. Army is playing at home today. Only cadets allowed. And before you know, nfl, chiefs against texans and tom brady begins his new career with Tampa Bay Buccaneers thats on fox coming up next sunday. Thats hard to believe were less than a week away from the start of the football season. Every sport in action, alicia, i dont know what to do. Alicia so much to do, so good for you, for sure. Jared max, thank you for that on this saturday. Have a good one. Leland. Have a great day. Leland speaking of sports. The ponies are going to run at Churchill Downs this afternoon. The last time 1945. Ashley strohmier is live at Churchill Downs with what will be an unusual 146th derby. Hi, ashley. Yeah, leland, its strange because theres no one here, its us, the jockeys, horses, a couple of the workers at Churchill Downs at louisville, kentucky. Earlier the horses were training. It was dark and early, id say around 5 00, the derby horses were out training and yesterday, at oaks, it was kind of the same situation, i would say there were more people here yesterday than the owners up in the boxes and its still early. Its the first race for today started at 11 00. She shared the devil little list at the oaks, tis the law a heavy favorite for the derby. And theres empty seats here, were only the media really, here, a couple of other people. I cant express enough how quiet it is. You can hear the horses panting as they go by. Thats never the case at derby. We spoke to an owner whose horse is actually racing in the Kentucky Derby that starts at 7 02. He says the lack of fans and lack of excitement is just downright eerie. To return the derby this year so amazing and also a little eerie because we havent had the fans on the back stretch here at Churchill Downs, wont have them in the stand today. I think the noise is what generates that level of excitement. So thats going to be missing this year. And that was kind of the general consensus from everyone ive spoken to here at churchill. Its sad, im originally from kentucky and been to many oaks and derbies and its very, very strange. Growing protests in city across the country. There have been more than 100 days of in portland as new demonstrations like cities in rochester in new york to clear black lives matter protestors, broke dishes and tables. Im alicia acuna in denver. Leland nice to be with you at home. It was a scary night in rochester for a lot of folks just out for dinner in sidewalk im leland vittert. We will go city by city, we will go first to portland, oregon mat finn with 109th night of violence, hey, matt. Wearing mask armored and shields, police say they flew bottle and police repeatedly used loud speakers telling people to clear the streets but they did not, protestors clashed with other groups and last night state troopers helped local police guard the Police Station and make arrests which is notable because protestors are arrested by state police in portland could face strong federal charges as u. S. Marshals have deputized state police in portland. Pictures show man appeared to be antifa, hiding before he shot 39yearold President Trump supporter Aaron Danielson and governor asked why she condemned as white nationalists as bad actors and not mentioning antifa and here is the governors answer to that question and founder of Patriot Prayer which facebook has now banned. My future oregon to build better oregon where everyone can thrive and so my understanding of these organizations is theyre based on hate. Im sick and tired of hearing about that. This has nothing to do with skin color, this has to do with ideology. They just say white nationalists and White Supremacists all of the time. Reporter here in vancouver theres memorial, organizers are describing as something they expect to be peaceful. Hope think we do not see unrest or violent activity out here later today, leland. Leland we know that your crew will be there 10 00 a. M. Pacific time in portland. We will keep checking with you throughout the day. Alicia. Alicia as violence continues to rise in u. S. Cities, protestors clashing with Police Last Night in rochester new york for third consecutive night after bod cam footage was done of daniel prudes arrest. Reporter organizers are starting to meet in union scare park for a rally that should start in about an hour, all of them reminding people to remain peaceful after some violence erupted last night not only here but also around the state, the mayor of rochester speaking about some of the calls to change. It is time that our community joined forces with the advocate and the people who are protesting in our street and the government to stand up for what is right. Reporter no rochester new york riots over treatment of prude determined homicide. Among protests video showing people entering crowded area of a restaurant last night. Police arrested 11 people. In new York City Police arrested 8 people from charges from eye rioting and per the information of two tasers last night, they found them on two people. Stun guns are illegal in new york. The chief spoke about the spain of pain of losing two officers at one. Alicia reports claim he disparaged Service Members. First of all, unrest in violence, President Trump has said multiple times the problems in some of the cities namely portland would be fixed in one hour, hes calling on the governor to call him and he will send National Guard and problems can be fixed. Back to the other part of your introduction right there its from the atlantic arguing and alleging that President Trump in 2018 called the american war dead in france losers and, quote, suckers, President Trump and the white house strongly pushing back on this. We have to go back to november 2018 when this allegedly happened in france. The president did visit cemetery, you heard video of the speech but did not visit cemetery hour and a half east. The white house says it was strictly weather call and too risky to have president 90 plus minutes away in case of an emergency and President Trump addressing the allegations from the atlantic at a press briefing yesterday. Its a disgrace that somebody has allowed to write things like that and could have been a lot of times the sources arent sources, they dont exist and sometimes the sources are just people that are disgruntled, former socalled employees. David fox news Jennifer Griffin heard from two former u. S. Officials who were on the trip to france, one in the meeting to plan the trip to cemetery, they confirmed parts of the atlantic report not about suckers and loser, jennifer did report when the president spoke about the vietnam war he said, quote, it was a stupid war, anyone who went was a sucker. Thats specifically on the vietnam war, the source added, quote, whats in it for them, they dont make any money, the official, though, did not go on the record to be named. White house, alicia did provide email showing this time frame in november 2018 that chief of staff john kelly went in place of President Trump and the military aid here at the white house said the reason the chief of staff went was because of a weather call. Thats the story the white house is sticking with, the president said everyone here at the white house believing that story and sticking with that story today. Alicia. Alicia david spunt at the white house, thank you so much. David thank you. Alicia joining us trump 2020 adviser mercedes schlapp. Lets first again with atlantic article and report on fox news channel. Id like you to take a listen to what correspondent said to neil cavuto about her reporting. I can tell you that my sources are unimpeachable and i feel confident with what we have reported at fox, not every line of the atlantic article was did i confirm, but i would say that most of the the descriptions and the quotes in the atlantic article i did find people who were able to confirm. President trump called for firing of Jennifer Griffin, why . Mercedes first of all, you see that the story is fake. I will add to the number of 11 people on the record, former Administration Officials who have worked closely with the president who know that this is not accurate story. Ive been in the room with the president when hes made calls to Service Members and veterans and to me his goal is complete respect for veterans and military officials and you can see it in his own actions where he has been focused on authorizing historic levels of military spending, 738 billion and also historic pay raise for our troops. The president is committed to our military and committed to our veterans. Ive seen it firsthand when he has called families who have lost loved ones who served in the military. Alicia why call for a firing of a reporter who has an impeccable record . Mercedes i have Great Respect for jennifer. Its frustrating sometimes when you have certain people out to get the president. What im saying it could be some of the former Administration Officials as the president has talked about, the his gruntled employees and i can tell you what ive seen personally in the oval office where the president has made the calls to military families and his commitment is clear when you see his record on ensuring that the military has the resources that they need and that our veterans are well taken care of unlike what we saw under the obamabiden administration. Alicia and i want to move on here because we did bring you on here as well to talk about the women for trump, a bus tour that youre on. Youre going battleground states and youre getting out there. Can you kind of explain exactly what it is that youve been doing . Mercedes once we get 100day mark we have two buses on the road through election day, women for trump bus tour and i have been personally to pennsylvania, wisconsin, iowa, new hampshire, maine, arizona, just to name some of the states that i have visited and theres one common factor in what i see, great enthusiasm for President Trump and field office who is are run by women who are knocking door to door and saying why its critical to elect President Trump. On the ground you see enthusiasm factor for the president and is reflected in the polls as well. Alicia and the president really does need women voters this time around in a big way but he is struggling here and if you take a look at the grenell National Poll of women voters and what it says, it says that he is actually way behind former Vice President biden here. You see the 64 to 31 . First of all, i cant imagine that youre really on board with this poll, but also what is it that youre doing when youre out there on the women for trump tour trying to talk to them and help them make the decision that youre hoping that they will make. Mercedes mercedes absolutely, theres two issues as im speaking with women on the ground. Its definitely economic comeback and the relief that the president has provided turned Paycheck Protection Program during the Global Pandemic thats impacted so many Small Businesses, women Small Business across the country, also being able to talk about the fact that weve seen in august 1. 4 million jobs created and the fact that the unemployment numbers continue to drop despite artificial interruption of covid. 8. 4 also decrease of unemployment for women especially veterans, blacks and latinos. The other issue that keeps popping up is obviously law and order, its safe communities. They are seeing whats happened in democratrun cities like portland and the fact that it took for joe biden several weeks to even address the issue of condemning the violence on the street when he saw falling poll numbers and for them they want a president of law order, someone who is able to provide the federal systems needed in the cities as we saw what the president did in immediate action in kenosha, wisconsin, so for them, those are the two issues that are very much resinating in the suburban areas and we go out and talk about the president s record of strength and compare that to joe biden and how he as a weak candidate has decided to align himself to the are far left which, of course, would lead to increase taxes that would that would definitely i impact over 82 of americans and thats very concerning to women when they start see to go make this decision not the run in the center but to run along the far left agenda with senator alicia 58 days, theres a lot to pack in there, i know. Thank you so much for joining us. Take care. Leland. Leland great conversation. Speaking of Biden Campaign, they are saying the president , President Trump is unfit of presidency after the reporting from atlantic, Jacqui Heinrich live where the former vp is taking a break at least today from the campaign trail, hi, jacqui. Reporter as white house denying allegations in the report, Democratic Campaign committee is pointing to relative silence from the president s republican allies in the senate defending him and the Biden Campaign is flatly rejecting the president s criticism of the sourcing of n the article. This morning Biden Campaign spokesman told fox in part, donald trump has made hallmark and how does that stack up next to the word of senior marine officers, dod officials and four other people with trek knowledge of statements, not well. Former Vice President joe biden also challenged denials from the white house saying americans have heard President Trump disparage heros like john mccain before and witnessed him show more respect to dictators and autocrats than american Service Members he says. He stood by, failing to take action, raised the issue with Vladimir Putin while the kremlin puts bounties of american troops in afghanistan. President trump has demonstrated he has no sense of service. No loyalty other than himself. Reporter we expect the Biden Campaign wont let the story go quickly. Big topics include coronavirus and the economy. Yesterday biden slammed trump over slow pace of jobs in august and economists will talk about a kshaped recovery where things improve at the top but get worses for those in the middle and at the bo moment and biden will travel to harrisburg, pennsylvania on labor day and speak with unions there, leland. Leland we will watch the trip from the trail. Jacqui heinrich in wilmington, thank you. Legal good to see you as always, sir, we appreciate you taking the time on the weekend. Start with the reporting from Jacqui Heinrich. Conceivably pennsylvania shouldnt be in play for joe biden, he called scranton, shes having to do to scranton . I think what happened with Hillary Clinton almost 4 years ago not going to wisconsin, i think that its its incumbent upon the president not to take the Vice President , im sorry, not to take anything for granted and i think he should go to pennsylvania although from his front door of the house he can get to pennsylvania in less than an hour. He can certainly. Speaking of pennsylvania, we got poll numbers of where biden versus trump polled in july and where it polls now at the end of august. Biden has lost 4 points and trump picked up 5, getting very close now to the margin of error, if not inside the margin of error. Going back to 2016, are you seeing this race tightened in the way trump versus clinton tightened in 2016 . Absolutely. I hope every person who is interested in the biden candidacy also looks at it in a way that sees the tightening and some of the states, some of the states, i think, are surprisingly not tight like arizona, but i do think that it would behoove to always run scared. Leland it was lacking during 2016, particularly in the africanamerican community. We heard from mercedes schlapp, basically saying that the former Vice President is given wick and nod to protestors if you want to call them that causing chaos in the streets. This is video from rochester, new york where black lives matter protestors started storming sidewalk cafe, overturning tables, yelling and screaming at diners there and forcing people to get up and leave in the middle of their meal. As youre looking at this video im feeling that it cant be good for the Biden Campaign to have this kind of unrest in the streets perpetrated by biden supporters . Yeah, here is the challenge we all have no matter what your ideology is, you look at this and you dont know the legitimate protestors from the criminals. I was in a march here in kansas city yesterday. I spoke to the crowd at the foot of Liberty Memorial and my the police whisked me away a moment or two because they spotted guest standing with long gun with coat on a very hot day. The problem we have now is the infiltration of crazies on both sides. I mean, you know, you have ive never met anybody from antifa. I dont know antifa, but i recognize the fact that i guess they are the crazies because they shot somebody. Leland having to answer for the craziest amongst us or the craziest in family members its something that weve always experienced. I want to ask you the last question because kansas city is hope to operation legend, which is named for a young man who was killed. The murder state in st. Louis, just on the other side of the state, the highest in the country up, up now 40 , 42 year to date. Do you worry that this rise in crime is going to swing potential suburban blue voters to President Trump. Well, the rise in crime in a number of the cities actually started last year. Its a phenomena and i warned mayor for taking credit for the decline of crime because if you do you have to take credit when it start to rise again. But i think, you know, the rise was way before protest began and we have to figure out what we can do to stop it. Leland congressman, i have to run because i have a hard break coming up. We appreciate you taking the time to talk and also your insight and candor from kansas city, speak speaking of protests, protests in Kentucky Derby, back in a minute. Alicia black lives matter is calling for boycott of Kentucky Derby saying the event is inappropriate at a time when hometown is reeling from the Police Shooting of Breonna Taylor earlier this year. Griff jenkins on location with more, hey, griff. Griff, hey, alicia. No justice no derby is going to be the rally call and you can see behind me the tightened security presence for the 146th running to have Kentucky Derby, theyll be no fans inside but outside we expect multiple groups of social justice black lives matter and you can see across from the intersection that we are, main entrance theres a few protestors turning out at 4 30, National Coalition of groups say they are going to meet and begin to protest the derby, they believe that the officers in the Breonna Taylor should be charged and not happy they are celebrating derby today. Counterprotestors called themselves patriots and many armed and believed in constitution rights of americans and they will be here today and gentleman named dylan who goes by angry viking, he says hopes peaceful and here is what he had to say, take a listen. This is not going to be a violent day. This is going to be a day where americans finally see americans standing up from across the country and standing up against organizations that do want violence, thats not what we are about. We are about saying, lets stop the violence, how about we mash hands together and actually talk and figure out a solution for the problems, not keep burning buildings to the ground and then blaming Everything Else on someone else. Griff now, major greg fisher in louisville is concerned about all of the groups coming. He hopes that they will be peaceful and just another look, the National Guard and the state police have turned out alicia, its every year event that they come out because its one of the americas Largest Sporting events along with the super bowl and world series but they tightened even more now because of demonstrations plan and theres a group black Militia Group with angry viking, hopefully they will not clash and we will be monitoring to you all day. Alicia Griff Jenkins, thank you, leland. Leland millions of americans are celebrating unofficial end of summer with trips getting out of town, las vegas. Kristina coleman in santa monica. Christina travel is expected to be down this Holiday Weekend because of coronavirus. We have a lot of people doing the staycation. Most people who travel for unofficial last week of summer, americans are taking less trips and government officials are still urging caution this Holiday Weekend. Industry trade organization airline for america expect about 17. 5 million passengers to travel on u. S. Airlines, worldwide over this Holiday Weekend, thats a 4 increase compared to the same holiday period last year. Many passengers say the huge discounts on flights coupled with the fact that they havent seen their loved ones in quite a while because of coronavirus has them now deciding to hop on a plane this Holiday Weekend. The concerns that i have to weigh the fact that my parents are older and im able to see them. The precautions that are being taken and everyone is Wearing Masks makes me feel more comfortable about doing it. La county are expecting crowds and heat wave expected to blanket parts of the west this weekend. Authorities are helping people avoid coronavirus spreading activities like the big parties that weve seen on the memorial day and fourth of july weekend this year and, again, Health Officials are urging people to really be careful and to make sure that they social distance during the Holiday Weekend, they say what they do this weekend could have a big impact on the fall. Leland. Leland real quick, christina, all concessions, roller coasters shut down or operating in some way . Christina yeah, we are here on the pier and they are shut down. You still have people meandering Walking Around but they are closed, leland. Leland thank you so much. Alicia. Alicia several u. S. Cities have seen a summer of protests and rioting, minneapolis and kenosha, wisconsin being two of them. Thousand demonstrations have impacted local businesses already fighting to recover in the midst of the pandemic up next gives us confidence. They help us with achievable steps along the way. So we can spend a bit today, knowing were prepared for tomorrow. Wow dad, do you think you overdid it maybe . I dont think so. What do you think, peanut . Nope honey, do you think we overdid it . By the end to have year as deaths nearing 190,000 with over 6 million cases confirmed in the nation. Charles live with more. Hi, charles. Charles Labor Day Weekend could be critical point for the pandemic. Experts say how americans act this weekend could determine if we see higher levels of coronavirus cases in the coming days. Now public Health Officials have seen cases spike after previous Mass Gatherings like the stergess motorcycle in south dakota. Any situation we have a large number of people traveling and getting into congregate settings and would certainly include a popular travel weekend like labor day, that could lead to the actors that would result in a spike, so, yes, we are concerned that it could happen. Charles astrazeneca enrolled 30,000 people around the company for phase 3 trials and the company says it could produce results by october to present to regulators and Abbott Laboratory to release what happened tests that could release results in 15 minutes and 97 accurate most of the time, alicia. Alicia Charles Watson in atlanta, leland. Leland protests tonight in portland and louisville and Griff Jenkins is there and local businesses have taken a beaten as violent protests have flourished in recent days. Is there a lot of commerce going on in Downtown Minneapolis . Thanks for having me on, leland. Leland thank you. Its been a tough time in minneapolis, the Global Pandemic and covid19, we think Office Occupancy 10 to 15 right now given current stay at home order that our governor has done through executive order. Maria we are looking at pictures of after math of riots post George Floyds death and im wondering have people started to rebuild or have they taken a breather and wait to go see in terms of where minneapolis and where minnesota goes to be willing to protect their businesses if riots start again . Yeah, weve been seen incredible resiliency. We are starting to see demolition and plans for reconstruction, a lot of intentionalities, real concerted effort with the community and the city to think about what could the future of the corridors look like and how can we invest in the city. Leland everything is political in 2020 and minnesota will be at the center of that debate both democrats and republicans. The president and Vice President biden think that they can take minnesota. How how is the Economic Issues impacting the president ial race . Well, without a doubt the Economic Issues are impacting the president ial race, both parties that they will come in and help with the future of our economy, the future of our city, but we are really focused on right now, you know, on the ground helping the businesses that have been impacted, helping them relocate to temporary locations while they are displaced and helping them envision what their future could be. Leland jonathan, you and i know that businesses cant operate in anarchy and no one will loan money to reopen a business, no bank will when they think the businesses will get burned down again. Does it seem as though the Minneapolis Police have been at least unhandcuffed enough by the mayor and governor to ensure that the kind of anarchy and destruction that happened in the wake of george floyd wouldnt happen again . Well, i think what we saw in wake of george floyd is challenging and fastforward to ten days ago, we had a suicide that was falsely reported as an officerinvolved shooting. That yielded another set of activities this time in the core of downtown and the Central Business district. We saw very different reaction to that incident. Leland when you say different reaction. The police react today reacted to nonexistence officerinvolved shooting and it was more aggressive . Yeah, you saw the mayor immediately call for hour of support the National Guard was deployed, state troopers were deployed and all the while the Police Department was on the ground containing the leland thats a lot different. You know, often times chambers of commerce is maintain political agnostic view but i have to put real clear politics right now for president ial polling, Hillary Clinton won that state by about a percent and a half, we had a radio host on from minneapolis just last hour talking about how he really thought that there was a move especially when he called greater minnesota, outside of minneapolis towards President Trump. Are you feeling that too . I would say we are seeing that certainly in minnesota and also experiencing in suburbs as people are looking at Public Safety and policing becoming really central to this president ial election. Leland when you sayer seeing that the police are moving toward President Trump . We are hearing more of that, yeah. Leland you say hearing more of it, give me a little bit more on that . We operate all across the minneapolis, st. Paul region and we talk to Business Owners and residents outside of the Central Business outside of the urban core, you are hearing real concerns about policing and Public Safety and theres a direct connection to the views of political parties, the Defund Movement certainly tends to be more of the progressive plank, so that very well could play out in the final days of this election. Leland all right, president ceo, jonathan, appreciate your time on a saturday, sir. Thanks, leland. Leland alicia. For more on how they are bringing america together and serving our nations heros, we are going talk now to Community Building arts works treasurer and navy veteran collin mcgee. Thank you so much for being here today. We really appreciate it you talking to us about this. Can you tell me exactly how the workshops work. Its a pleasure to be here. We are an organization that has access to Service Members as they are coming through treatment often, as you said often difficult for them to communicate some of their experiences. What we do through music workshops, art workshops and writing workshops is give them a framework using professional artists, musicians, poets, authors to put their stories into language that can then be communicated more easily. It gives them a tool and then we try to allow the story to be shared so that incredibly strong and credible people, we want the strength back out in the community. We want them to be able to reengage the strength both for themselves and the people around them and the communities ultimately. Alicia i dont know if you can see what we are showing here, we were showing as you were speaking some of these pieces of art work, they are so powerful. If you really take a good look at them and they are worth it but this is different than art therapy, isnt it . It is, the focus here is is more on the artistic part of itself and its nonclinical and allows Service Members to share what theyre ready to share and nondiagnostic and they can engage as they wish with peers through this forum. Importantly that also means that right now as we moved all of our writing programs online, we can engage people wherever they are across the country and our ability to reach people has doubled nearly tripled in the last few months. Alicia looking at the pieces of art work, its so hard not to get drawn in by the beauty thats also there and i want to just let folks know one statistic that stood out, Operation Iraqi freedom and enduring freedom, they were about 11 to 20 out of every 100 veterans between 11 to 20 who served that have ptsd in a given year. This is easy for folks to forget, isnt it . Colin it is unless youre one of the families who is trying to work your way through that and live with it, being able to reengage and not socially isolate was a big risk right now, tendency to socially isolate and so that ability where we can bring veterans together with other veterans, other people that understand, you know, both from this conflict and even all the veterans, weve got 18. 2 million veterans from numerous conflicts. We want to reach those people and help them engage especially the ones who have moved through that experience and they can come back and share strengths with others. Alicia folks can see the website that we have below us if they want to show their support and check this out. We appreciate your time today, thank you so much. Colin thank you so much, appreciate it.
