Do you think that early voting, very quickly will help ease the stress of the caucus . It will, it has eased it and we just got our numbers in for early voting, so those would be added, tabulated along with our numbers that we have today. Arthel, good morning, thats right, Nevada Democrats know they have so much on the line today with their caucus in the wake of what you were just talking about, what we saw in iowa, something that many people say it was a disaster of what was run a couple of weeks ago, democrats say they have tried to change game plan a little bit going into today, as you mentioned there was a chance for people to do early caucusing and some 75,000 people are believed to have turned out over 4day period to make their preferences known, that could impact how quickly we see the results turned around later on this afternoon or into this evening, but itll be interesting to say the bigger the turnout that could impact how those results get turned out. It looks very clear to me like we will have more people who in total who will participate in the caucuses, thats going to have an impact, the dncs requirements for reporting are also different, they are more complicated, that takes a little more time. Thats one thing we heard over and over again, patience, the Security Agency tweeted out today, if youre participating in the caucus, remember that the dems are the best source for their caucus info and results, caucus results can take time to report but accuracy is more important than timelessness of releasing results and that was interesting because, of course, the results trickled in out of iowa so they the government right there saying that this is something that will take a little bit of time. Now the Democratic Party here in nevada they set up a hotline for people to call in in case they have any questions and email to address voters concerns, where we are, arthel, this is interesting, like the media row, you see the blue screen behind me, the results will be projected. Eric youll be hearing that from joe biden talking about it, look, las vegas itself is almost 30 latino, 10 african american, almost 10 Asian American so the folks in nevada are saying they really echo and reflect the broader composition of the United States more than as you just pointed out iowa and New Hampshire. Thats right, that demographic kind of facts that you just underscored, you know, show whats happened to nevada over last 30, 40 years, the Las Vegas Area is heavily urbanized, very urbanized state, one of the most urbanized in the nation even though it has a lot of empty space in it, you see big influx of latin american immigrants into nevada, african americans, asians, its diverse, youve also seen immigrants out of california trying to get away from higher taxes and maybe just the lifestyle of some other urban settings, settling in nevada and changing not just the demographic profile but the political profile of nevada to more democrat, and thats why its going to be interesting to watch how the candidates who are playing to a more diverse audience, how they play in nevada. Eric man, oh man, drive 25 minutes south away from the strip and you have wide open spaces. In terms of sanders, lets talk about him for a moment, they dont want that because they have such great union coverage, could that dick him and so who could be number 2 . Yeah, hes fighting two things, the workers did express concern about his plan, you know, they see it as, you know, one supplanting what they feel is Better Health care that they have negotiated for over years, remember, pretty good Union Strength in nevada, not in all state bus in nevada because of the consolidation of casino industry, they also didnt like the fact that they felt that some of Bernie Sanders supporters were harassing them for disagreement with the senator over that medicare for all plan, so that might hurt him in this in which case who comes up second, is it buttigieg, is it biden or klobuchar in the sort of centrist lane of the democratic candidate pool or is it Elizabeth Warren, somebody who is fighting for the progressive lead, fighting Bernie Sanders for that. Eric you would think you help the man you sigh on the screen, joe biden, more, if joe biden was to come number 2, come in number 3, that spells trouble for him and leading to South Carolina next week . It could or maybe not. We just dont know and the africanamerican vote in South Carolina is very important and has been behind biden up until now, the early states are smaller, we dont know necessarily, we probably shouldnt extrapolate too far, helps with fundraising but we shouldnt extrapolate too far, we should wait for early march in super tuesday where a number of states will be voting including california, there you will get a much better sense of where the nation as a whole is leaning, moderate or progressive. [laughter] you know, it really is hard to say and i think that we its probably best to reserve judgment until super tuesday, i think that these early states are indicators of a particular demographic profile in the United States. Some diverse, some much more white, remember, its a a accumulation of the profiles that make the ultimate voter pool in the United States, so you have to be careful of drawing too much of a judgment from any particular states vote, when you get to super tuesday its a different story, youll get a much bigger slice of the full pie. Well, i think Bernie Sanders has got to lose, hes up in the polls by 16 points around 32 according to real clear average of polls and the other candidates, the more moderate lane is very crowded, all of them have 15 or 16 , that would be pete buttigieg, joe biden and Elizabeth Warren is in the mix although shes not part of the moderate lane. But klobuchar had fallen a little bit, its really Bernie Sanders to lose and last night at his rally he sounded confident and supporters were so happy that they were now in victory position when they felt like outliers for so long . Arthel you, you cant take anything for granted at this point, factoring in the rural population that i mentioned at the start of the segment, who took the better political gamble going into nevada . Well, Bernie Sanders had that liberal lane because Elizabeth Warren had fallen a bit, the other candidates, democratic, the state has been trending democratic in recent years, you have a lot of Union Workers here, miners, retirees and youre seeing that play out in 2016 it was more of a battleground, trump trump lost it just by 2 Percentage Points for to Hillary Clinton but now you see since 2008 theres been 165,000 more registered democrats and the state is trending becoming a democratic hot bed and i think thats benefiting Bernie Sanders. Arthel thats driven by the nevada Culinary Union and he had dust up with them, they were concerned that his medicare for all would end their current healthcare system, so we will see how their plans, see how that goes in the end for Bernie Sanders there. Win or lose, susan with all the candidates, will all of the candidates there still have a shot in South Carolina or is nevada do or die for any of them . I think that South Carolina will be much more interesting, you have joe biden, it was supposed to be fire wall, supporters, minority supporters and black americans were going to support him there and he has thats really fallen, only 4 lead to Bernie Sanders and the other candidates are all hoovering around right after that, i think that thats really going to be much more interesting and then we have california and super tuesday where Bernie Sanders is also up by 14 Percentage Points and looks like Bernie Sanders is consolidating frontrunner status.
