[ speaking spanish ] >> i have decided to offer humanitarian asylum to the young american edward snowden in his homeland of bolivar and come and live here away from the persecution of america. >> reporter: similar to nicaragua, it's not immediately clear that there were any conditions to the offer. >> heather: speaking of korea according to flight tracking information. we don't know how many people were on board that plane. it carries as many 451 passengers, maximum. the triple 7 as it is known is the world's largest twin engine jet. one would anticipate that there would be injuries if not fatalities but we cannot give you any of those details right now. according to a witness the plane was about to land. it's tail came off after wobbling for a minute. the aircraft came to a stop on the runway on its back. obviously there are rescue crews there trying to get to people who may still be trapped inside, but we just don't know the casualties yet. obviously a horrible plane crash. this is one of the two top airlines from south korea and this was coming to san francisco international airport from south korea. asiana airlines the conditions were pretty good let's talk to janice dean about the weather conditions. >> right now we are looking at partly cloudy skies. conditions are pretty good in terms of weather, but looking at the latest satellite radar imagery. we do have some cloud cover that is coming up. they have the marine layer and fog layer that comes off of the ocean. right now, partly cloudy skies as i look back the last couple of hours, we did see some cloud cover move into the san francisco region. winds are light and you can see the past 12 hours if you look at the satellite imagery, clouds are moving into the san francisco area. very cool waters here. sometimes we get some fog and some clouds cover. again, we're not dealing with severe conditions. we weren't dealing with a storm system like that. obviously we'll continue to monitor the weather, partly cloudy skies, winds very light at around 9 miles an hour and temperatures around 66 degrees. so, gregg, they will look at weather in terms of whether or not this was something that could have hampered the landing or not. what i can see in the last couple of hours, certainly looking at cloud cover but conditions were calm relatively speaking around the san francisco area. >> gregg: we're going to continue to follow the events. a plane has crash landed. it is a boeing triple 7, largest twin engine jet in the world. we don't know how many people were on board or nature of casualties but according to a witness, according to ttvu, the plane's tail as it was about to land came off causing the plane itself to wobble. it skidded along the runway, flipped upside-down coming to a stop at the end of the runway on its back. rescue crews obviously on the scene, we're endeavoring to get more details about this plane crash. we're going to continue to follow it and let you know as soon as we get more details. >> we're following this story. a train carrying crude oil caused a massive explosion and evacuate go an entire town. where that is happened is coming up next. 4th of july fireworks story gone horribly wrong. company at the center of the accident may have a history of similar incidents. prosecution in the george zimmerman murder trial resting their case but have they convinced the jury and what challenges still lie ahead for the defense. >> it is my opinion that he was still alive. he was still in pain and he was still in suffering. through sunday at sleep train's 4th of july sale,
