Capitol police denying they instructed the National Guard to vacate the complex when congress was in session. The National Guard told fox the order came from Capitol Police and a defense official confirmed it. Troops were resting in the thurgood garage sleeping against concrete pillars in 40 degrees weather. There was a single restroom with 2 stalls for 5,000 troops. Lawmakers sounded off immediately. Tweeting unreal. I cant believe they would be ordered to vacate the building. I want answers asap. They can use my officers and republican tim scott tweeted. This is unsafe. Whoevers decision this was must be held accountable. They were eventually allowed back into the capitol complex. This morning senator leadership pledged to get to the bottom of it. It was utterly unacceptable. I told those who run the security at the capitol it can never happen again. I dont think a single senator feels that was acceptable. I am glad the situation was resolved and i hope we learn exactly what happened. We learned the troops have hotel rooms in virginia and maryland. But its not easy to get back to them between 12 hour shifts. Well, first let me say they have been to worst places but not here in the nations capitol. That makes this such a bad sign. This is not like they were treated badly. They are just not being treated well. Thats a problem. The truth is no matter what happens, this falls on d. C. Police and Capitol Police for being so unprepared for so long they were even needed to begin with. What bothered me about this when i saw the pictures of the members of congress and senate going over and taking pictures and bragging about taking them pizza is doing and pony pandering, but what surprised me this week, mr. Kentucky Fried Chicken said on a radio show that some are insider threats. They also say now that we have our photoops, can go on. Every governor should call back their National Guard troops today. They have a home. What people dont understand the National Guard troops left their job in a moments notice. They are not active duty. They left their civilian jobs and families to come up there. They do it because they are good at their job. To be treated this way shows the lack of planning. No one wants to take responsibility even now. It highlights a bigger problem which is congress. Sandra republican governors including ron desantis of florida and the Texas Governor greg abbott said we are bringing them home. Ron desantis sounded off. These are soldiers. They served our country all around the world. They are not Nancy Pelosis serveants. This comes on the back end of them trying to investigate the backgrounds of our guards men. This is a half cocked mission. Bring them home. Sandra we hope that happens for all of them with a safe return back to homes. Michael cohen, what a moment that was. He called any of those men and women suspects if they were protrump supporters. They were all vetted. The fbi said there was no credible evidence of an insider threat. No. It was embarrassing if you ask me. The bigger problem with his comments, when you look at the culture war we are fighting which i dont endorse and wish would go away. You are trying to sow doubt in our most patriotic people. This needs to be squashed. He should be censored and apologize. I doubt that will happen. The chief Economic Advisor is laying out ground work President Biden will sign today talking about more money for people hard hit by coronavirus and food and security. President biden will ask the department of labor to clarify workers have a right to refuse employment that would jeopardize their health and they could still file for Unemployment Insurance. This is a common sense step to make sure workers have a right to safe work environments and we dont put workers in a pandemic in a position to choose between livelihoods and the health of they and their families. The second executive order that the president will sign is focussed on the jobs of federal workers and on federal contractors. He will direct his administration to initiate a process starting today that would allow him within 100 days to issue an executive order requiring federal contractors to play at least a 15 minimum wage and provide emergency paid leave to workers. This is something the president talked about on the campaign. Federal contractors should pay the benefits and pay that workers deserve. The order will protect and empower federal employees who served the American People. Many in very difficult circumstances during this pandemic. The steps will include restoring collective Bargaining Agreement and eliminating schedulef, which is threatening the protections of career employees. Also promoting a 15 minimum wage by directing the office of Public Management to develop recommendations to pay for federal workers at least 15 an hour. One final note. In addition to the executive orders today, we will focus on another key priority of the president and the vicepresident which is Equitable Relief to Small Businesses. In previous rounds too much of the support dedicated to Small Businesses has left out the smallest businesses, mom and pop businesses that dont have existing connections. Blacks and latino and nativeamerican owned businesses were shutout completely. A lot is because the out reach in communication from the federal government was unclear or nonexistent. Too many of those companies have been denied relief. Many had to shut their doors for good. The president is focussed on changing that. He has directed us to take immediate steps to make sure we are listening to these communities and taking their advice on how to improve the distribution of relief. This morning i met with representatives of the Small Business administration with dozens of groups representing black and brown owned businesses and lenders to hear their ideas on how to improve communications and act on them. We discussed the president s idea of having navigators who are dedicated to helping Small Business owners find the right Relief Program and fill out paper work and get money into their bank accounts. The kind of support many of these businesses dont have because of the relationships that more well connected businesses do. Some groups are doing this successfully. We are determined to learn from them and scale those efforts nationwide. I will be joining the vicepresident harris later today meeting with Small Business owners to discuss the American Rescue plan and the need for more effective Small Business relief delivered without delay. I want to ask you about the call on sunday with the Bipartisan Group of lawmakers. What can you tell us about the call . Will President Biden will be on the call . What is your message to moderate republicans like mitt romney who say the economy cant have another stimulus act after passing a 900 billion dollars relief package. Yes. The president made clear to his team that we should be reaching out to members of congress from both parties to make the case for the rescue plan and to engage with them, understand their concerns. Thats what we are doing. Both myself and senior numbers of the team. We have been doing that over the course of time. We will do that on the call on sunday that i will be doing with a group of senators. We will continue that engagement Going Forward. In terms of the message, its pretty clear. We for a precarious moment for the virus and the economy. Without Decisive Action, we risk falling into a very serious economic hole even more serious than the crisis we find ourselves in. Economists across the board and President Trumps former chairman of the council of Economic Advisors arguing now this is the time for Decisive Action for the economy. We cant wait to provide the resources to open schools and get vaccine shots in peoples arms and provide that bridging relief to families and Small Businesses. There is a lot of support. I met with a group of mayors yesterday. A Bipartisan Group of mayors from across the country. You hear from mayors and governors just crying out, that in order to take on these crises, the Public Health and the economic crisis at the same time, thats the Decisive Action. So will President Biden will be on the call if this is so urgent . The president directed the team to do outreach to members of congress. To business and labor organizations. To mayors and governors. We are in the process of doing that. I will be having that conversation on sunday. You can expect that other members of the administration will engage with members of congress as well. Brian, how would a february impeachment trial impact getting the covid19 relief package passed . Well, look, we are facing a period of multiple crises. What we need to is to act on multiple fronts. We understand and jen spoke to we understand the senate has a constitutional obligation in this context. But we have pressing economic and pandemic priorities. Thats why we are engaging and focussed on making the case and with the expectation that congress will heed that call and move forward. [inaudible]. If you are able to pass this 2 trillion dollars plan, do you envision this being the last round of stimulus or do you think you may need to do more . What i can tell you is, if we dont act now we will be in a much worse place and will need to do much more to dig out of a much deeper hole. The single most important thing economically right now is to take Decisive Action. Along the lines of what we laid out in this rescue plan. You hear again from economists across the board whether its the federal reserve, the International Monetary fund, and Economic Experts across the political spectrum, when you are at a moment that is as precarious as the one we are in, the risk of doing too little far outweighs the risk of doing too much. Thats the logic behind this package. You heard the president explain his economic approach is one where rescue and recovery need to come together. We will speak more about his recovery plans in the coming week to build back better and urging priority to create good jobs coming out of this crisis. Back to the recession, it took nearly a decade to get the country back to full employment under the obama administration. How long do you think it will take for every american who lost a job to have one . I would point to an independent analysis done of the American Rescue plan. What they found is if we pass the American Rescue plan now, we could see 7. 5 million jobs created just this year and a return to full employment a full year of what is projected if we dont. Those are the stakes involved. Without this kind of Decisive Action, we are going to have a much deeper economic hole. Thats why we are so focussed on the case for Decisive Action. Thank you. The president talked about seeking unity on this bill. I wonder after this call with the Bipartisan Coalition you need to get this bill passed do you expect to know whether the white house of pursue Bipartisan Legislation or [inaudible] . Also, can you talk about what the redline is . Where you say if you dont negotiate, we will just start working can democrats and Speaker Pelosi . I say 2 things. If you look at the element of the American Rescue plan this was designed with a bottom up focus on what experts say is the actual need to get schools open and to have a National Vaccination Distribution Plan to underwrite whether or not dr. Fauci and the president talked about yesterday and how to support families during this transition. Secondly, as a as a result of that, we are seeing a lot of support. Bipartisan mayors and bipartisan governors and business organizations and chamber of commerce. This is an appropriate response to an unprecedented economic circumstance. Thats the approach we are taking. Thats the perspective we are bringing here. I think that we are heartened to see that kind of support. Thats the conversation we have with Congress Republicans and democrats including looking at the last year and the lessons we learned. Without Decisive Action, we know the consequences. Nowa a moment not to undershoot. Now is a moment to act. I guess my question is a lesson that president obama and others talked about. [inaudible]. [muffled audio]. What is the Decision Point going to be where you might have republican mayors but it doesnt look like you have republican senators right now. At what point do you say this is no longer working and push forward . We are making the case. We are engaging and having conversations and listening and also focussed on the urgency and the need to act. Thats where the president s focus is and the vicepresident s focus and will continue to be our focus. We want to enage and act. That will guide us. This will be the last one. Thats brian deese talking about the 1. 9trillion dollars relief package that President Biden will seek this afternoon. He is making the point if we dont act now and we wait, we will have to do much more in the months ahead. Do you buy into what he said if we do this package now, we will win back 7. 5 million jobs before the end of the year . Sandra he was quoting another study on that but they believe that to be the case. 7. 5 million jobs created this year alone. Going back did full employment within the next year. That would be remarkable. They would have to layout the specifics. I dont know this we will learn much from questions will there be another stimulus and when will everyone have a job . We have yet to see them probe on how they will carry out an economic plan. I tried to ask questions on a call last year but there were technical difficulties. John a colleague said how will be the february impeachment trial affect the relief package . Deese said we have to act on multiple fronts but we have pressing priorities. It sounds like the Biden White House is concerned about how much oxygen an impeachment trial of President Trump in the senate will take up. Maybe we will get to it by mid february. Thats a long time for bidens agenda to be delayed. Sandra that was a question you heard over and over again. Helping out so many struggling americans, how can you do that if impeachment is the focus in washington . That was a great question. We will learn how they will address that. John in terms of where we are going with this impeachment trial. There is a lot that is yet to become clear. Such as the total makeup of former President Trumps legal team. His team was 4 or 5 the last time or so. Its a question of when this will take place while the impeachment article is going over on monday. I spoke with republicans who say, look, we are in no hurry to do this. The president should have time to prepare his defense. Nancy pelosi making the point well the house managers have not had that much time so why should the president get more . By the time you get to the trial where will republicans be in it voting to convict the president . You need 17. It seems to me, from conversations i had with people on the hill, the further away you get from january 6th the less likely to get a conviction of the president. Sandra and a question for brian deese is tax reform. Its a delicate balance with an ailing u. S. Economy because of the pandemic. It was a headline in the wall street journal this morning that said private equity is betting that the tax reform you promised may be delayed because of that. Something they will have to answer. John yes. And more than 130 Human Rights Group sent an open letter to congress opposing the creation of a new domestic terrorism charge. Some democrats were pushing for a bill for resources to focus on white nationalists. Mark is live to break this down. There has been a push to expand Law Enforcement powers. Those efforts have gotten a lot more attention. Nine lawmakers introduced the terrorism prevention act of 2021 that will create new offices for 10 years. It will monitor and investigate and prosecute domestic terrorism cases. Brad snyder behind this legislation said america must be vigilant to combat those radicalized to violence. Some republicans fear this is an overreach and an effort to expand surveillance of americans and could provide unnecessary and broad powers to combat extremists. We need to tread carefully. We have laws on the books. The vast majority of the americans dont support these groups. We need to prosecute them. The prevention act doesnt indicate that new charge of domestic terrorism. 135 civil Rights Groups are worried that will happen down the road. They are word that communities of colors may be targeted it such a law were put in place. A lot of fear about what could come of this. John we will keep watching it. Sandra back to the white house. Jen psaki is giving a press briefing. The first woman to lead the u. S. Treasury department was voted out of committee this morning. This is only the beginning. We are facing unprecedented challenges and threats to National Security. We need our secretary of Homeland Security in place. This is one of the most knowledgeable Homeland Security experts in the country and was confirmed by the senate three times. This say confirmation we will press on. I have news to share on the president s response to Domestic Violence extremism. The january 6th assaults on the capitol and deaths is a serious and growing National Security threat. The Biden Administration will confront this with the necessary resources and resolve. We will develop strategies based on facts and on constitutionally protected free speech and activities. It will fall into 3 areas. First a task team from President Biden going a threat assessment coordinated with the fbi and dhs on Domestic Violence extremism. The key point here is that we want fact based analysis to shape policy. This is the first step in the process. We will rely on our appropriate Law Enforcement and intelligence officials to provide that analysis. Second with the building of a capability to focus on violence. They will determine how to share information about this threat and disrupt Violent Extremist Networks and more. There is important work already underway. We need to understand its current extent and where there are gasps to address to determine the best path forward. Third is to enhance and accelerate efforts to address this. They will focus on addressing evolving threats, radicalization, social media and operational responses and more. Just a couple more items. Right now the president and vicepresident are having lunch. This is something they look forward to do doing every week. They will discuss their agenda particularly getting relief to working families and containing the covid crisis. I am sure they will talk about the last 48 hours as well. Later today, the president will speak with the Prime Minister of canada Justin Trudeau and speak with the president of mexico. We will have readouts of both calls when they happen. Yesterday the first lady held a Virtual Event to show gratitude for educators across the country during covid19. Over 11,000 educators attended the virtual meeting. Today she will highlight and support cancer caregivers. We want to share information about the vicepresident and the first lady movering forward. The president called the head of the National Guard to thank him for not just his work over the last few weeks but the work of the National Guard over the last several years. He talked about hiss own personal commitment and connection to the National Guard given his son had served previously and offered any assistedance from the government and also on a personal level and asked him to reach out if there was anything he ever needed. Now that there is an impeachment trial imminent, does President Biden have an opinion on whether former President Trump should be convicted . Secondly, you are getting momentum on confirmation. You have all you need to get going on the coronavirus and the economy and so forth. Is this just going to slow everything down . Does it take away from the ability to unify . Well, first, remarkably at this moment in history, we have some recent precedent of the senate conducting an impeachment trial while also doing the business of the American People. When the trial was being conducted last january, there were hearings that were happening on a daily basis. We expect that to continue. On the operational level, the house can also proceed and continue to do the work on the American Rescue plan, mauve that forward and we expect and hope that they will do that. Ove that forward and we expect and hope that they will do that. What cant be delayed is getting relief to the American People at this time of crisis. He remains confident after serving decades in the senate that members of both parties can walk and chew gum at the same time and move forward with the business of the American People. Do he believe that former President Trump should be convicted. He believes its up to the senate and congress to determine how to hold the former president accountable. Are tools and methods available to federal Law Enforcement . Are they what we need . Are we stuck in a post911 mind set. Does there need to be rethinking about how we approach things with federal Law Enforcement . Well, the reason that the president wanted to do this review and the National Security team wanted to do this review is because its a priority to ensure we are assessing what is happening in government and how we can do it better. More needs to be done. The president is tasking the National Security team to do this review on his second full day in office. Its an indication of that. Just a little bit more information. Homeland security advisor dr. Liz asked joshua to pioneer a scoping effort in the first 100 days in coordination with claire lincoln. She served on the National Security council until 2017 and a department Homeland Security advisor will bring experience. They will assess what steps to follow. [muffled audio]. A question on impeachment and then on covid. On impeachment, did House Speaker nancy pelosi consult with President Biden before sending the article of impeachment before the senate . I dont have any calls to readout. They are in regular touch. Hes been this touch with members of both parties about his agenda since he was inaugurated. I dont have anything more to readout. The timing. Mitch mcconnell will push for a february timeline. I know you dont want to comment specifically but how would a february trial impact getting a covid19 act passed . The president believes in their ability to multitask at the same time proceeding with an impeachment trial. Is mid february fast enough for him . He will leave the timeline up to them. There is precedent for this. They are continuing to move forward with getting the relief to the American People demand cant wait and be delayed until march, april or may. Given the urgent need for vaccinations why aim power . We are not packing up our bags and leaving at 100 days. We set that goal before any american received a single shot. For the in coming Biden Administration set a bold and ambitious goal. Many doubted we could get. There we want to set our own markers for the American Public. If we surpass that, thats great. We will continue working after day 100. Dr. Fauci also said its not just having the access to the vaccine. Its about addressing Vaccine Hesitancy and having the materials needed. You have been reported on different issues going on in states from new york and others where there are concerns about spry. There is confusion about the process. We need to address that. There are a number of operational challenges that are happening at the same time. Okay. Following up on the vaccine. How many vaccine is in the National Stockpile . Do you have a sense of that yet . Our team has been on the ground for about 48 hours. Certainly what they want to determine is not just the operational issues i referenced but when we are looking at in terms of supplies. We are going to be starting a briefing next week. A couple of times a week with health experts. I expect they will be able to provide some update of what they reviewed and have access to. On the previous occupant. Adam schiff is calling on President Biden not to extend the courtesy to trump on intelligence. Has a decision been made yet . Not. Who dismissed [inaudible]. You said that congress can walk and chew gum at the same time but there are so many hours in the day. Has the president expressed concern that a senate trial will stall the movement on the covid relief bill . It cannot. If there is a senate trial happening in the senate, the house can move forward on a package. Certainly there is a capacity and ability to have discussions and hearings and take steps to move forward on the president s covid relief package. We dont think it can be delayed or wait. They will have to find a path forward. He is confident they can do that. President biden made it clear he believes former President Trump is unfit to serve. Does he think he should be unfit to serve Going Forward . He is no longer here because President Biden beat him. We will leave the accountability steps to congress. Hammering out this package . Well, without giving you specifics, which you know you are looking for. I should not have walked myself into that rabbit hole. The president has already done a number of calls with democrats and republicans. That will continue. He is very eager to be closely involved and make calls himself. Soon, but i dont have an update on any meetings. Thanks to your reporting about the meeting this weekend got out there and brian confirmed it. There are a lot of meetings happening with a lot of different officials. I would not say that as this is the negotiation tool. Thats one of many discussions that the president and the vicepresident and senior members of the White House Team are having and ongoing. Is he confident you have enough democrats on board with the plan to pass this . Well, he announced the plan about a week ago. His view is this is how democracy should work. The president of the United States announcing what his vision is and what his proposed plan is to address the crisis. Then there are ongoing discussions with congress. They like pieces and they dont like others. Republicans even like some of the pieces. Hes had encouraging conversations. The final package may not being like the package he proposed. A trademark of the last Administration Efforts was there would be a big announcement on Jared Kushner website and no timeline put on it and it never materialized. Last night the chief of staff said there would be a Central Clearing house for Vaccine Information. Can you provide a timeline on when americans can expect a. Gov website or phone number to find out their specifics Vaccine Information . All members of my family are asking the same question as i am sure yours are. Its something we are eager to do and provides more information to the American Public about when they call their pharmacy to schedule an appointment. The lack of information and the disinformation about how people can get the vaccine has created a great deal of confusion. I dont feel anything on the timeline. The person who helped him are working on the covid team. We are in good hands. They are committed to getting more information out. Two questions. First having to do with the operations of the west wing. [muffled audio]. Who has Oval Office Walk in privilegeses in in white house . Do you have those as you speak to the president . How is access to the president controlled . Well, i dont know they will give you a list of everybody, but the first conversation i had with then president elect biden he said it was important that we have regular conversations and were able to have a discussion about how he sees things and questions coming up to ensure we provide you all not only with information about policies but his thinking on issues. I talked to him this morning. Certainly i anticipate i will have regular conversations with him. There are a number of other people who have those conversations with him on a daily basis as well. Thats part of his style of governing to make sure people who engage with the outside world have an understanding of his thinking. Is dr. Deborah birx still a member of this covid conteam in this administration . Thats a good question. I will have to circle back on that. Thank you. Senator mcconnell and schumer have been going back and forth about a power sharing situation. The Sticking Point has been the filibuster. Are you concerned that those negotiations could delay the president s legislative gwen and his nominees . Does the president still oppose overturning the legislative filibuster like he did in the interview with the New York Times . The president s position hasnt changed. This conversations with both schumer and mcconnell that they need to have their conversations, but he is eager to move his rescue plan forward. He is eager to get relief to the American Public. He wants to work with both of them to do that. He wants it to be a bipartisan bill. Thats his objective. His position hasnt changed . He opposing overturning the filibuster . His position hasnt changed. The Previous Administration on the way out the door declared china human rights abuses against muslim were crimes against humanity. Does the president agree with that determination . I know our secretary of state is just about to get confirmed or so senator mcconnell tells us. We will review a number of the decisions and assessments that made the president has spoken before to the horrific treatment of leaders. I dont have anything more. I will check with the National Security team for a more uptodate statement. A couple of quick followups. Families that depend on schools to feed their children. Thats 100 for 3 children every 2 months. Is that too little too late . What more are you thinking of doing . Well, first the executive actions, these are just part of the president s effort to bring relief to the American People. His priority was overturning a number of the detrimental steps that the Trump Administration had taken and to take steps that he can through executive authority to bring that relief. He also proposed this large package to bring additional relief and wants to work with congress to build on the executive actions to take a bipartisan approach to make sure we are making sure kids have food to eat and people who dont have jobs have relief. That schools can reopen. His big focus is undoing that in a bipartisan way with congress. There was another detail mentioned about the 15 minimum wage. Brian spoke about federal contractors. The issue has faced opposition in congress. Is President Biden planing to speak to senator schumer to bring the legislation that the house passed on 15 to the senate. How does this help workers across the country . Well, again, this is just one part of his step to provide relief to the American People. There are many federal contractors serving the government. He felt it was something that was not just right to do but something necessary to do. He proposed a significant relief package to provide assistance to many americans. He will continue to advocate for the 15 minimum wage no doubt about it. Go ahead. Thank you very much. I would like to focus on vaccinations. There is something the federal government can do. In new york there is a looming train wreck happening today. Governor cuomo and mayor de blasio say they will run out of the first dose of the vaccine today and wont get more until tuesday. Will President Biden do anything to prevent that . We asked the cdc to look into this issue. And see what can be done. I dont have any updates beyond that. We dont want any states to run out of access to vaccines. We are hopeful in the weeks ahead as we get our sea legs here and our team starts to operational engagement with governors and local officials to provide them a greater understanding of what supply and what we have access to in a time frame farther in advance, we can avoid situations like in in the future. We asked the cdc to look into what is happening. The federal government could help alleviate some of the problem. New york city has 60,000 doses reserved for the second shot. Is the federal government considering letting those be used for the first shot . In the past we deferred to health and medical experts. We asked the cdc to look into the options. To look into this . To look to have a conversation with officials in new york and to look into what is possible. We want to leave it to the health and medical experts to make the decision. One executive order signed yesterday requires [inaudible] quarantine. Will the administration enforce that rule . And on the coronavirus, has the president considered a National Memorial for those who died from coronavirus . Those are excellent questions. The first one i will have to followup with you on both of them. I am not aware of a discussion about the second piece. Any feedback on the immigration bill sent to the hill yesterday and is there a timeline . We have cosponsors of the immigration bill which is a good sign. There are a number of experts who covered this issue for sometime. They worked on immigration reform. Bipartisan discussions in the past. We are hopeful this proposal that this bill he sent forward yesterday will be an opportunity for a reset to restart the discussions. That will be the first step. We are hopeful this proposed bill which is different from the past because it include smarter security and a path to citizenship and funding to address the root cause, will be the basis of those discussions. We would like to see them move forward quickly. You mentioned the issue of Vaccine Hesitancy. Does the president believe all americans should get the vaccine and how do you convince them its safe . He does. The more people that are vaccinated the safer we are. In terms of addressing Vaccine Hesitancy. Its a big challenge. You heard dr. Fauci talk about this yesterday. It will be easier for the first bunch of americans to convince them to get the vaccine. They are looking on information how to go and get grandma to come with them. Its the next layer of people who are concerned about safety and efficacy. There is larger than should be percentage in minority communities, communities of color and so we have been thoughtful about how we do outreach and make it access in community and Health Centers that can provide the vaccine. Also who is communicating on behalf of the government or behalf of the safety of the vaccine. The president will be doing that. The vicepresident will be doing that. Celebrities have covered. But what is interesting is local doctors and officials and people from the community are often most trusted. We are trying to empower and be able to fund local communities to be the spokespeople to build that trust. In the back. Thank you, jen. Any consideration to separate some pieces out and pass the things first and foremost that generate bipartisan support given the urgency you talked about . New hampshires governor, you had 50 troops here helping to guard the capitol. What did you think of what happened . . Well, when people call for help. We are always willing to stand up the men and the New Hampshire National Guard have been phenomenal and never complain. They did a great job as did the National Guard from across the country. When we saw the images and heard the stories. My National Guard dont complain. Thats my team. I wont let them sit in a situation after serving the country bravely in the nations capitol in a time of real strife to be disrespected. I pulled them out this morning. John we are getting conflict stories. The Capitol Hill Police pitman said i want to assure everyone that the u. S. Capitol police is not instruct the National Guard to vavacate the capitol facilities. Do you know how this happened . This is washington, d. C. , whether you are elected or not its about finger pointing. I dont know who is responsible. I dont care. I have to protect my troops and do what is right. I think a lot of other governors are looking at what their next step is as well. They do things bravely and dont complain. To be treated with that kind of disrespect a lot of governors are second guessing and saying we will bring them back to the state of New Hampshire in a gracious way. Say thank you and praise them and not put them in situations that are demeaning and disrespectful. John they are used to hard ships. I dont know how anybody in authority on capitol hill was not thinking about that words when they told them to go to the parking garage. It was appalling. To have it happen in the capitol itself. You would think if this is any place where there is a level of respect and to say thank you every time look, i understand people are coming for photoops to say thank you. We can appreciate that, but we are pulling our troops back. We will be there it for the next mission. But there has to be better accountability in the system. John we saw the unrest last summer to which the National Guard were deployed much to the consternation of people in charge of some of those places. Many happened to be democrats. We saw the resistance to deploy the National Guard in washington, d. C. Finally the politicians are saying bring in the National Guard but lets let them sleep in a parking garage. There were no checks. They were asked to make donations. Why did you want to set the restaurant up that way . Right. Because from being in the Nonprofit Food Bank and serving people a number of years, we thought it would be nice if people could actually go into a restaurant, order what they want and not worry about how they were going to pay for it. Well, what happened was, we put up a partition. We didnt have im going to say knowhow. We didnt know how we were going to serve our customers. What happened was, we put up a partition and Hurricane Sally came along. We got flooded out. We had to take that down. Now were opening the door, and we are not taking donations now because we still want it to be where people can get, get that plate of food without worrying about well, i dont have any money to hand the person handing them the meal. So were asking people to donate until we can get the dining room back up again. John so the question is, how are you staying afloat without donations . Well, we have actually, theres people sending donations to us. We said when we opened up this restaurant, what happened . We were going to keep it going. John good for you.
