Do you remember when we were kids . Mom did the same thing every year. No christmas, were not no, were not going to get any presents. He always skipped our house. Every year on Christmas Day, expectations are low. She got the expectations realize. Wept out there. There it was. I told my dad, there really is a santa claus. He said youre looking at santa claus. Right here. Hard earned money. Yeah. I was like no, the reindeer. Hes like no, we ate the rei reindeer. That was my childhood. Now were in the Christmas Spirit, i have an idea. My three kids are all in nashville. So heres what im going to invite yall to do. Gather up with the kids, all my kids are there. You bring jessica and your kids. Bring sheila. And well just have a nashville christmas celebration. We can Treasure Hunt in the morning. I like this plan. I like it a lot. I have some neighbors that have a historical property in a little place called thompson station. I think we can actually find a lot of Christmas Presents. Were shopping in the dirt. Thompson station, guys. It was like a oneday battle between the union and c Confederate Forces involved. They charged each other several times. It should be an amazing place. Sounds like a winner. The union troops were on that side of the road and that side of the road and the confederates were over here. They charged each other back and forth across this plane right here. Just right behind the house . Yep. The battle at Thompsons Station was a relatively small skirmish during the civil war. It happened on march the 5th, 1863 at a small Railroad Terminal called Thompsons Station. It was between about 5000 Confederate Calvary and about 3000 union infantry. With several thousand troops here and artillery and cannons involved, theres gotta be a lot of treasure. It should be christmas come early. And of course, they were fighting all around the house. So naturally, they turned it into a hospital of sorts for a few days. Why dont we start here, go right of the Railroad Tracks and then work our way back to that part . Lets finish this thing. Angel on october the fourth, my daughter was diagnosed with a rare Malignant Rhabdoid tumor on the spine. When i received the diagnosis with my daughter, my hope was gone. When we first headed to st. Jude, my baby couldnt sit up on her own at all. The tumor had pressed up against her spine to the point where it basically paralyzed her. She couldnt feel her feet or anything like that. And just to see her start to make those steps after treatment. Take your time, one step at a time. Erielle take my time. Take my time. Andra day, rise up good job, baby. Ill rise up. Ill rise unafraid. Ill rise up. And ill do it 1,000 times again. It was just like a miracle. It was amazing. I was like, thank you, god, for st. Jude. Y is just a starting line for the true self blooms only when we find our purpose what makes us tick below the surface. My y is diversity in unity a safe space in my Community Living with sincerity giving every day my everything. With my y i stand strong seen and supported all along. For some their y is a summer under stars memories and moments connections near and far. Y is the beforework hustle an afterschool home a section of my block a corner to call my own. Our reason y is united, undivided seeking understanding here, a handshake is a promise all our hearts are dancing laughing is our song. Its kinship, friendship, tide rising with the ship. The real reason were here is people say jesus is the reason for the season but we believe jesus is the reason for all seasons. Our life begins with jesus, it will never end with jesus and all the parts in between are signs of gods grace in our lives. So were never gonna outgive god. We have a lot to be thankful for. I know christmas is a lot about gifts and toys and presents but my gift, if you wanna give me something, give me the time with my family all together around a table eating delicious food, laughing, joking, seeing the babies, all of that. That is my gift because god gave his own son his family as a gift to us. I couldnt do that and he did it for me and you. Well, we got a new tradition. [missy] crawfish pie . But as i look around at my family, the people i love the most, im reminded that the very fact that jesus came down within a family was to show us that despite lifes difficulty or danger, we have hope. We have a family. We have the possibility to be together forever. Jesus is it. So thats why we trust him and thats why we focus on him. Okay well, even though the dinner is over, the nights not.
