august 27th. the new black panther party will see him there. >> bill: and the new black panther party may be targeting glenn beck. the g-man will be here. caution, you where to enter the no spin zone. the factor begins right now. >> bill: hi, i'm bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. new polls oon illegal immigration. that's the subject of this evening's talking points memo. will gallup says 26% of americans strongly favor the obama administration suing the state of arizona over its tough new illegal alien law. 7% favor, but not strongly. however, 38% strongly oppose and 12% simply oppose it. 17% have no opinion because they are zombies. adding it up 50% of the american public oppose the federal lawsuit just 33% support it. also new was muffin poll says 61% of americans want the arizona law in their state. just 28% do not. it's clear the vast majority of americans understand the feds have not controlled illegal immigration and that the states, the individual states have a right to protect their own citizens. especially when the federal government will not. talking points is not over simplifying the matter. it is a protection issue. it has nothing to do with race. if millions of polish people were pouring in here. i believe the stats would be the same. we are living in a dangerous world. we can't have millions of people violating federal law and expect to have a responsible immigration policy. it's simply impossible. as we reported wednesday, there are now 1100 illegal aliens, 1100 suspected of violent felonies sitting in a phoenix, arizona jail. 1100 in one county. and you are telling me that arizona doesn't have a right to have its police question suspected wrong-doers of their nationality? it's insane. think about it. fair minded americans do not want to punish house painters and farm workers. they are here partially because our government tacitly encouraged them to come. these people do deserve a fair hearing in any immigration bill. but president obama is not doing the right thing here. he should be joining the state of arizona to secure the border down there. instead of he is spending millions of taxpayer dollars of our money to weaken public safety. arizona authorities say they have received a half million dollars so far in donations from americans to fight the federal lawsuit. close to 10,000, folks have sent money to the governor's office. this is shaping up as a battle between the president and the folks. so far mr. obama not persuaded most of us that his immigration policies are effective. and i do not expect that to change. and that's the memo. now for the top story tonight, if sarah palin were president, could she solve the illegal immigration problem? when i spoke to the governor last night, that was the big question. >> bill: so you're president of the united states, sarah palin. you send how many national guard to the border right away to secure it? do you give them green cards to work right away? what do you do with them? >> there has to be that expectation that they will work and that they will incident contribute. bill, it makes laws, no. so having them -- >> bill: we can't starve them to death. if they can't work, if they don't have a green card to work, they are going to bees whod. i mean, they have got to pay rent, they have got to buy groceries this, that and the other thing. this is where it gets very complicated because you are rewarding bad behavior. you are letting them stay in the united states. they came in illegally. >> then we won't complicate it anymore. let's keep it simple. and let's say no, if you are here illegally and if you don't follow the steps that at some point through immigration reform we will be able to provide and that is to somehow allow to you work. if you are not going to do that you will be deported. you will be gone. let's look at case history. let's look at what, you know, political hero ronald reagan tried to do with 3 million illegals all those years ago. >> bill: reagan botched it, governor. >> exactly. that's what i'm saying. we learn from history. we won't do what he did. no but you are going to have to -- whoever the next president is, is going to have to deal with 12 million people and that's going to be very, very difficult. let me switch gears here. this is frightening me, governor. i'm getting very, very afraid of momma grizzlies. and you are, i guess, the momma grizzly chief dom. why don't you explain what the momma grizzly deal with. >> momma grizzly in a political sense is someone who is watching what is going on that is adversely affecting our cubs. our children, the future of america. and there are a lot of common sense, constitutional conservative women who are willing to put it all on the line and run for office or support candidates willing to run for office to take this country back. and not allow the pelosi, reid, obama administration and agenda continue to put us on a path towards insolvency. to put us on a path toward a less secure and less free nation. >> bill: you are trying to mobilize momma grizzlies all over from anchorage to key west to from san diego to bangor maine to get involved, either run themselves or support candidates they like. this momma grizzly movement is going to take over the country. >> it's all about stopping obama, pelosi, and reid and what they are doing to our country, to our children and our grandchildren and their future. >> bill: all right. governor. always a pleasure to talk with you. thanks for taking the time. >> thanks, you too. >> bill: in a moment dana perino and leslie marshall will react to governor palin's vision. in oakland big riot over the case. geraldo has some thoughts about it upcoming. for me to breathe. but with advair, i'm breathg better. so i can join the fun at my family barbeque.
