deal. chaos erupted in parliament this week as fellow conservatives joined the opposition to pass a bill that would stop a no deal brexit. lawmakers also rejected johnson's request to hold a snap election in october, an issue that will be back on the docket again when parliament meets on monday. joe sternberg is in london with the latest. boris johnson wants that hard brexit deadline of october 31st as leverage to go back to the eu and ask for more concessions on a deal. but parliament has stopped him. who is going to win that fight? >> well, right now parliament has won. the news as of friday afternoon over here in london is that the parliament has passed a law basically saying they don't want a no deal exit on october 31s october 31st. so that technically is on the statute books here now and it technically requires boris johnson to ask the other european leaders for another extension when they have a summit meeting later in october.
