michelle malkin. he's going to lecture them. meanwhile he's got all these connections a million dollars in donations from geld man to his campaign. all -- from goldman to his campaign. all these people who work for goldman. audacity of hope, corruption, what would you call it? >> just plain sheer audacity, sean. this white house can no moreç disown itself from government sachs than obama can from chicago politics thiser intertwined. goldman sachs which has rightly earned that moniker, government sachs has had tentacles in administrations, both republican and democrat it is a bipartisan problem that you've had these politicians enable failing institutions, corrupt institutions. those politicians are every bit as responsible as the wall street money menç that they are now department going. it would be wise for -- demo -- demo goinging about. it would be wise this big haranguing by obama to have a parade of all of the faces ginsler during his congressional nomination hearing was asked about his own specific role in failing to support oversight of credit defaults. ì%q worked for tax cheat geithner and apparently for ginsler. with where is the accountability for this bad behavior? >> sean: president is asked about the donations he got almost a million dollars in this case. his answer was i got a lot of money from a lot of people. he says vast majority i got were from dough forces. the question is, in this -- were from small donors. the question is, i thought this was a new era, new time. heç dismisses it, everybody else does it. this is the way i had to raise money. why wouldn't he give the money back former exception sake? >> well, a bona fide agent of hope and change would have done that but we know all long as he was campaigning, that this was all a facade. now he's completely toppled from his high white horse of "reform" and i think again what the republicans should do, whatç conservatives and true believers in good government should do, is turn the tables on some of those opportunists, democrat candidates who are demanding their republican opponents return money from geld man saks but not their own commander in chief. it is goaling that alexi giannoulias is himself took part of a bank nowç haranguing his republican opponent mark kirk who gave in and returned his goldman sachs donation. >> sean: the president made the statement that we have the toughest ethics rules that any president has ever had. he said in the campaign that if you leave his administration, that you wouldn't be able to lobby the administration for years. the lawyer representing goldman sachs craig working for him up until january. i guess i'm a little perplexed.ç it seems like he can say anything, break the promise then never get called out on it. what has happened to media in the country that they ignore it? >> you know what, we ignore the lame stream lap dog media the fact is, despite all of the water carrying that has gone on for the last year and during the campaign, the word is getting out there, he is being held accountable in his poll numbers. the fact people do see corruption as one of theç top issues in 2010 and 2012. he can't keep saying these things with a straight face when all of the evidence is to the contrary. he keeps patting himself on the back and how his lobbying reform is when everything flies in the face of that >> sean: based on the american people are beginning to see he's more radical than he projected himself during the campaign. he's not talking about jobs. he's not talking about health care. the american)people have concluded he's failed in both of those areas. now he moves on to the so-called next fasty, the next crisis, this banking -- next catastrophe, next crisis, this banking reform. durbin said timing couldn't be per in terms of passing legislation and using goldman sachs as an example for the american people about why they need to pass this reform quickly. do you see a pattern in terms of the fear mongering that the president uses to pass justç about every piece of legislation he has? >> of course. that is an ideological tool straight inspired from playbook rules for radicals to create constant crises to create this momentum for reform that is is going to cause more harm, do more harm than good if you look at the fineprint of this so-called reform, what it would do is institutionalize and make permanent fi%ancial bailouts. which i think is the perfect swan song for corrupt-o-crat chris dodd. >> sean: he took a million dollars in donations, harry reid took money, rahm emanuel took money. then craig representing geld man sakses. dick gephardt lobbies for goldman sachs, tom daschle represents companies on wall street. eric holder onceç represented and lobbied for global crossing. how do they make the case they are against cronyism when almost every member is involved in some capacity? >> yeah. what they do is what rahm emanuel did the other night. to meet in secret and behind closed doors, all of those so-called fat cats who know they are going to get beaten up in public but will be taken care of behind the scenes. that's now this administration has operated rfm day one. the way to remedy that is get rid of the corruption. you cannot reform. the only way to do it is reduce the size of government. >> sean: is this as some are suggesting, barack obama's enron or do they get away with it in the end? >> i think that we have to keep screaming at the top of our lungs as long as they keep screaming fat cat and demoç goinging this. when you compare bush enron to obama enron scandal million in con waougss -- contributions from goldman sachs versus about 150,000 in donations from enron. yet, the liberal media the press the establishment hung that albatross around bush's neck. i don't think he pushed back far enough on it. that's what the republicans and conservatives have to do in this case, push back h@bd. >> sean: michelle malkin, thanks appreciate the. plenty more coming up, straight ahead. controversy erupts ahead of the nfl draft. scouts reveal stanford's toby gerhardt could be passed over because of his race. so much more transparency the white house press corp barred from covering an obama protest. plus, the republican who couldç win in the president's home district in hawaii. much more hannity, straight >> sean: voice for geico car insurance has been fired. dc douglas was axed when an outrageous voice message he left for freedom worksç which organizes tea parties. the percentage of people that are mentally retarded working for freedom works and who are following it. good for geico. you think he would have learned from >> sean: the nfl will kickoff the 2010 draft tomorrow night here in new york city. one of the top prospects is turning someç heads with comments that he made about how his race might impact when he is drafted. stanford running back toby gerhardt told sports reporter that he believes his race has played a part in some of the nfl organizations that he has met with ahead of the draft. gerhardt says, "one team i interviewed with, asked me about being a white running back. they asked if it made me feel entitled or like i felt like i was a poster child for white running backs. i said no in%ru]áu playing ball, i don't think about that" more startling comments from a long time nfl scout who said, "he will be a great second round pick up for somebody but i guarantee you if he was the exact same guy but was black, he would go in the first round for sure." here was reaction to the developing story from the philly enquirer, stephen a smith and sports college football analyst spencer tillman good to see you.ç your initial thoughts on this? this is race-related. if this was white, black, switch it around. >> it race-related because we are talking about a white house running back. i don't believe that not going to be a first round pick. believe he's not going to be a first round pick because he's running a 4.5 instead of 4.3. >> sean: you are the better sports analyst.ç the closest heisman vote ever. he's number two. why is he not number one in the draft? >> first of all there are a bunch of heisman trophy winners that are busts in the nfl. don't look at me that tway this is sports. >> he's making a good point. >> toby gerhardt ran a 4.5 he has run some -- some linebackers that are aspiring to be in theç nfl or some in the nfl run that kind of speed. when you look at cj out of clemson he runs a 43.67. >> we live in a world of images and impressions. longtime nfl scout that made that comment he's a long time scout. if he can make that assessment we have a problem. toby gerhardt responded to what those comments said. we live in a world of images when you writeç the script the that toby gerhardt is reversed in the role. he's like a minority who finds him is self on the opposite end of discrimination.÷yñtz racism is prejudice plus power. i don't worry about somebody who has a preference. i worry about the individual a personnel individual who has the power to affect the outcome of my economic standing. >> i look at the game. when is the last timenyou saw a white superstar running back? again, we are looking at a guy and they are looking at his numbers. he was great at stanford. >> sean: if we look at the dictionary definition of racism are you suggesting based on somebody's race there's assumption there's a superior athlete? >> no, what i'm saying is the man ran a 4.5 at the scouting combine. you look at the history ofç the nfl. >> what is your point? >> the last modern day running back, riggins, james other than that all of your scars. >> what is your point? the fact that he's an outlier means i'm going to be -- if i have a need in running back and i'm going to let this kid slip past me 230 pounds, -- >> takes a lot of hits and they are looking at the longevityç of him. >> sean: you are arguing two points. you are arguing based on the merits. he came that close to the heisman and has a good college record that he racked up. >> some people are projecting -- >> sean: issue of race was brought up to him by the nfl teams and comment by the scout i'm saying if these were comments made by african-american what would the reaction be? >> you are talking anç nfl scout bringing this up [ talking over each other ] >> what i'm saying is, if toby is addressing the issue because he feels he's been asked questions and he has reason to feel that way i'm saying it is valid. but i'm looking at his game and i don't believe because he's white that's the reason he's not going to be a first round pick. >> sean: it seems basic either you've got the talent we see it on the field or we don't if a sportsç commentator makes a comment such as this what happens? >> reverse stereotype, reverse racism. >> sean: agree? >> absolutely. >> 25 years ago we had warren mean all-pro, hall of famer, he didn't get drafted, mvp, rose bowl, he had every accolade had to go to canada to establish himself to come back in. years later now a white player not playing the quarterback position but finds himself in aç position where he's being judged and maligned by individual who calls him a long time nfl scout that is institutionalized perceptions. >> you are talking about the comment from the scout. i'm saying when you bring that into the equation, you have a valid point. knowing football the way you do, look at the brand of football this kid plays and the position we are talking about. the quarterback position was considered a cerebral position and we know stereotypes that came with that wyt% african-americans, the running back position, can you run, block? >> this kid is late first round, second round pick in my opinion. i talked to jim haubaugh his coach he believes he will be a second round pick. for the scout to speak that's problematic. significant scout in the best position to make an assessment about him because he too was a great runner. >> i spoke toç three scouts who say that didn't that -- deny played any part and whoever said that was foolish. >> there is not enough evidence to convict him now. >> distinction between racism and prejudice is this. prejudice plus power. when you act on your bias that is problematic a team is there with a need for quarterback or running back at 15, 20, whatever the number may be and they pass him up. >> you know it has to beç about what type of running back? i need a power back -- >> sean: good point. they need the running back with his track record -- >> if that scout, i would love to know if that scout is on that team that passes him up. if that is the case that is a racist scout and it's a racist organization. >> i agree with that >> sean: thank you both for being with us. more hannity coming up, straight ahead. >> either helpç me or -- >> sean: rare video of the 1954 showdown between ronald reagan and james dean. meet the gop candidate poised to upset democrats in the president's hometown. >> i'm off the teleprompter. >> sean: what happens when the vice president goes off script? we have the tape. that plus late breaking details on the possible divorce of tiger and elin woods. hannity continuest the democrats will stop at nothing to push their radical agenda through congress. whether it is cap and tax or immigration reform, it is all on the table for the left thanks to the return of the controversial process known as reconciliation. accordingç to senator cardin democrats believe their budget resolution has been written in a way that gives them authority to use reconciliation to pass what he calls energy legislation and more in 2010. cardin says, "there are different areas it could be used." i think he should stop by senator byrd's office to hear what he thinks about all of this. >> it is time for the abuse of the reconciliation process to cease. weç should not be using expedited proceeders to take up measures that worseen the fiscal situation of the nation and that have far reaching profound impacts on the people. the reconciliation was never, never, never, intended to be a shield to be used as a shield for controversial legislation. >> sean: never. pretty strong words coming from the longest serving member of congressç in our nation's history. if you like contests you may want to enter this one sponsored by the epa. offering $2500 to the individual who makes the best video about why federal regulations are good. the agency's press release about the contest notes, almost every aspect avid's life is touched by federal regulations." wait that is supposed to be good? tennessee congresswoman marsha blackburnç is outraged and vowing to make an unorthodox entry into the contest highlighting how regulations can be harmful. she wrote a letter to the anointed one arguing against the use of taxpayer dollars as prize money in an era of ever mounting debt a $2500 prize for a youtube video is not the best use of taxpayer dollars. i'm sure all members of team obama will make great entries. they love big government. finally, a new video of ronald reagan has been unearthed fromç the former president's days at general elect trick. during his tenure there he -- electric. he hosted the show general electric theater which became the country's top rated sunday night tv program. his background as an act for helped bring dozens of academy award winners on the show. this new video shows reagan with actor james dean. reagan plays a doctor defending his home and family from dean a law breaking teenager trying toç find medical treatment for his friend. take a look. >> i want you to you take your hands off my wife and get out of this house. get out of the way. >> sure. i'll get out of the way. but you're going out of here alone sonny radio >> don't you call me sonny, you got five seconds to get out of the way,4s6u
