because we don't have that much hard evidence. >> bill: i'm not sure what that was. can you interpret that, general? >> well, i will tell you this whole idea of not trusting advisors and moving out of positions, that's not just a putin thing. that's the typical way of doing business in very dictatorial, tough-guy regimes because they spend as much time preventing coups as they do conducting a military operation. so they are just as concerned about making sure no one person below them has enough intelligence and power and authority to threaten them but that is opposed to what needs to be done when you are conducting a military operation, which is to synchronize intelligence and war-fighting capability to go against the enemy. i wouldn't be surprised if that's the case with putin.
