The islamists are hitting us everywhere and frequently. What are we going to do about it . Varney company is about to begin. It sounded like an attack in beirut, i know that sounds crazy to say, but i said to my friend, this doesnt sound like fireworks, this sounds like beirut when its under attack. [gunshots] so it ended, but we just assumed they were fireworks still going off, but then really shortly after that, i saw people running and we didnt at this point have any idea what we were running from. Stuart we did not bring you the worst, most horrific video. Terror on the french riviera, as told by horrified witnesses. The question this morning, how do we stop attacks on very soft targets, how do we stop the spread of radical islamism. Tammy bruce is here. Look, tammy, this is war, president obama does not want appear to be appears to be reluctant to be a war time president. You cannot want to be a war time president and not make things worse, he has done so, obama, others refused to kill the enemy. The only way to do this, eliminate the enemy, this will never end, everyone is furious as we should be. Hillary notes we need an intelligence surge. She is a fool. This situation arose under their leadership, hillary as secretary of state and obama as president and we now have all of those children dead and so many more individualsment this is never going to end, this is the obama legacy. Weve got passive, ambivalent, even willing to want to not let a good crisis go to waste somehow. Chaos is persuading europe and obama and lack of leadership is largely responsible and the American People have had enough. My god, the legacy of this, what we have allowed to occur is obscene. Stuart come into this, liz, and tammy, i felt personally about this, it was such a soft target and a brutal attack. We in america, and europeans, youre now subject to attack anywhere, anytime, it could be outside a sports stadium, walking on the street. On the beach for heavens sake. It can be anywhere, were all now feeling a good deal more personal anxiety, thats my position liz and thats the terrorist popular magazine inspire, telling terrorists to do that, maximum carnage, came for crowds, use the mowing machine like a truck to do exactly what this guy did and it happened on Frances National holiday, when people were out revelling with fireworks. So, its an unspeakable horror and tragedy. Now, were going to bring you more detail, horrific detail of this a little later in the program, but right now i want to bring in zuhdi jasser, now, he has been a leadser of the antijihadi movement within in muslim community. Zuhdi, dr. Jasser, welcome back. Donald trump as everybody knows, donald trump proposed a temporary ban on muslims. Stuart, its time to ban islamists and ideology of those who want to defeat us, who device the world as the land of islam and land of war and human beings in the west as bugs who are inhuman. Stuart hold on for one second. I want to hold you up for one second, zuhdi. Last night Newt Gingrich came out strongly and said for all muslims living in america, there should be a sharia test. Test them. If you believe in sharia, youre out. Now, what do you say to that, zuhdi . Well, you know, listen, it doesnt work if you did that. We should have a test for immigrants, should have a test for anyone seeking security clearance, but listen, if that works, we may want to consider it, but a, its unconstitutional, unamerican, but seconds, these are folks that are its an ideology and you cant vet for in a country that has a nazi party, a communist party those are folks who dont believe in our constitution, but they operate here. If theyre in our country and dont have security clearance and not seeking violence they are protected and we should not be vetting they, but monitoring them and have them as precursor ideologies that our Homeland Security knows about them, yes, hes right they should be monitored, but to say like he did because they hit an isis website, we should deport them, a, it doesnt work and b, its unamerican. Stuart im going to make the comment this is a disaster for islam. This is a disaster for muslims living in the United States because now youre going to be the suspect of hostility and come under extra scrutiny. This is going to happen. Its a disaster, do you agree with me on that. 9 11 was a disaster, our whole world is in the muslim majority world were going against theocracy, its not a few million that are muslims need to wake up and declare jihad on jihad and stand by liberty and freedom and say were american nationals and respect the islamic jihad. Stuart youve got to do it in the streets. Its not good enough to put up a post on facebook in your website. That wont work. Youve got to have american muslim taking to the streets saying we dont want any part of this. We totally reject this, this is out of bounds. Were not like them. We must see it, zuhdi, and were not seeing it. Theyre in denial and the most important thing, they cant just reject the act and say we reject terrorism. They need to reject the ideology, unless french and westerners see us reject the underpinnings of the idea that look at people celebrating the liberation of france thats why its an important day and a horrific act. They were actually attacking french on the day that celebrates them from the Islamic State and sharia state, which is bastille day and thats why we need to see that. The reason that the president in a bigoted way, treat muslims like adults and expect them to stand in the 21st century and not the 13th century, which is where we are right now. Stuart zuhdi. A comment from tammy. Were asking muslim to defend the west, why dont we start doing it. Raqqa needs to be leveled and the argument there will be Collateral Damage, what was last night in nice, if that was not Collateral Damage. Muslims will have an easier time when we eliminate the enemy. No more isis websites, imagine that, imagine wiping out the enemies as our generals say we can do in six to eight weeks. How dare we ask muslims, regular muslims on the streets to stand up for us when we dont show them that were willing to take out the enemy, that we put omar mateen on the street and San Bernardino terrorists wandering around. Theyre not safe until we take action and show were willing to defend this nation as well. Stuart were getting more detail on exactly what happened last night. Ive got this item for you. French Police Stopped that truck, they stopped it hours before the attack. Liz, the guy driving, the terrorist what did he say, he was delivering ice cream . Liz here is what happened. 1200 surveillance cameras around the area are now tracking this truck and terrorist movements. He boarded the truck in the hills around nice and he did it hours before they shut down the streets of nice for the fireworks celebration. They shut it down around 3 00, he got there early and he waited. He had rented the truck near the nice airport. When and he sat there for a reported nine hours. When the cops approached him and asked him what are you here for, again, because they said no trucks in the area, but he was sitting there, he said i am delivering ice cream. He was known to the police for domestic violence, for a theft, for assault, and in his truck he was in possession of weapons and explosives. Some reports are indicating fake grenades as well. The police had questioned him and he was apparently, you know, let go. Stuart you have to ask, did the Police Officers questioning him as he sat in that truck, did they know that he was known to other sections of the police force liz thats the issue. Stuart got a record or whatever. We that that brussels had a problem communicating with the intelligence authorities, with the police. Stuart what a mistake. He waited for them to show up. This is a problem with brussels and france to exit the eu. Theyre recognizing that problem. Stuart its the death nell for the European Union, thats a personal opinion. Its not on the outskirts, the European Union needs to end and the french have got to take action. Stuart wieve got it. The issue of money, it appears to be divorced from this terror attack, there will be no pullback for stocks at the opening bell. Weve had a strong rally and despite that terror attack, we may open higher this morning, thats both for the Dow Jones Industrial average and also for the s p 500. Steve cortez. Steve is a money manager, a trump supporter and i want to know, steve, why this divorce between terror and the impact on the world of money . Right, you know, listen, i was surprised this morning when i got up after the horrific news last night to see that markets are largely unchanged. Theyre pretty sanguine about this. I think stuart, the rational, wall street knows how to deal with a cash flow statement and earning statements and product. Wall street is not wellequipped at assessing geopolitical risk. I think theres tremendous risk here, if the United States and france join hands together and by the way, france is our very oldest ally, we would not have gotten our independence without the help of france. If we join hands and go to real total war against the Islamic State, i think we should and i hope we will, that does present to me real risk to Financial Assets at least for the near term. Even though right now markets arent at all roiled, i dont think that you should get too complacent right now. Stuart steve, stay there, please, well bring you on the show later when the market opens. Ill show you how were going to open today. The s p 500 futures, theyre fairly flat. The bottom line, theres no pullback, at least in the s p 500 and the dow industrials this morning. Now, take a look at smith wesson, obviously, a gun maker. We always take you to these stocks when, after a big terror attack. Were doing it now. As smith wesson, one of those gun stocks will open higher again this morning. And 84 People Killed in that attack. Were learning more about the victims. Two americans are among the dead. The Family Friends say that copelands wife and two children witnessed the attack, but managed to get out of harms way. More varney in a moment. Im going to make this as simple as possible for you. You can go ahead and stick with that complicated credit card that limits where you earn bonus cash back. Or. You can get the quicksilver card from capital one. Quicksilver earns you unlimited 1. 5 cash back on every purchase, everywhere. I shouldnt have to ask. Whats in your wallet . Now, this is happening right new. The president of france, francois hollande, responding to the terror attack in nice last night and emack, you have an update on what youre saying liz he says that 50 people are fighting for their lives, between, quote, life and death. So, unfortunately, were watching to see if the fatalities rise. Stuart he drove that truck 1. 1 is miles straight down that promenade liz zigzaging. Stuart to hit the maximum number of people and 50 are fighting for their lives liz and he did shoot at people. Stuart i say that president obama is reluctant to be a wartime president. Listen to what trump supporter Newt Gingrich had to say about that attack. We should destroy them with kinetic power and predators, and frankly killing them. Im sick and tired of being told that the wealthiest, most powerful civilization in history, all of western civilization, is helpless in the face of a group of medival barbaria barbarians. Stuart you heard it and its clear. General tom mcnerny is here. Theres an avalanche of people, military people saying good get them, go kill them. What are you saying . Go get them, go kill them. Ive been saying that a long time along with other people and our leadership, our president has done the exact opposite. We have let raqqa, the capital of the california ka caliphate day untouched. It will be a symbol forever, there will be no future caliphates and im sorry, general, im going to jump in because you know exactly what your opponents, your political opponents are going to say. Theyre going to say, youre going to kill thousands of innocent people, men, women and children, that will be Collateral Damage. Do you accept that . I accept that in accordance with the laws of war. As a boy, i grew up in berlin, stuttgart, frankfurt, mune niche and they were all flat and we won that war in three and a half years. Our humanity to overcorrecting on Collateral Damage is causing the inhumanity that we saw last night. The inhumanity that we saw in San Bernardino, in orlando, in paris, in brussels. So, we are creating more casualties on our side by being humane to them. Stuart general, thats tough stuff, isnt it . Thats tough stuff cause this is tough stuff. Its going to get worse and until we stand up and until we get leadership, our leadership has aided and abetted this enemy. The people that have been attracted to isis and the caliphate, they look and they say, look, raqqa, the capital, has not been touched. So for the last two years, its been a magnate. They say in their vernacular, oh, the americans are afraid to attack that, thats why it should have been leveled two years ago when you and i first started talking about it. It ought to be leveled tomorrow. Stuart general tom mcinerney, thank you for being here. Brief comments . Look, i agree with him. Raqqa needs to be leveled. This is what everybody is saying, not everybody, but a lot this morning. Innocent people die in war, its horrible, but more innocent people die when you dont confront the enemy liz were waiting for the moment of silence at the nyse. Stuart thats exactly what were waiting for. There will be a moment of silence at the New York Stock Exchange to commemorate and to make known the markets feeling about what happened last night. It will be a i believe its about a minute, maybe a little bet bit less. The people on the New York Stock Exchange will stand in silence and i believe a bell will be rung, a moment of silence at the New York Stock Exchange. Listen in. [moment of silence] [bell ringing] you totaled your brand new car. Nobodys hurt, but there will still be pain. Police are conducting raids in muslim areas in france as we speak, and emack has news of a woman in france detained liz yes, detained. Were talking in a neighborhood in the northern section in the foot hills of nice. So, its a neighborhood, and she was wearing a head scarf. Women in the area were trying to block the cameras and varied Police Officers are getting into cars and cars are driving away and women were watching from the balcony. Yes, she has been detained in the city of nice there. Police raids are being conducted as we speak. Nice has been Law Enforcement has been telling fox business a problem for terrorist activity and a haven for some time now. Stuart that was an ugly sight right there. Those Police Officers, i think those Police Officers were wearing those so they couldnt see their faces and thats in a muslim area. And i say theyre close to civil war, certainly, civil problems. The opening bell on wall street, its moments away now and despite what happened overnight in france, this market will be up again just a little at the opening well. Just watch it move moments from now. When a moment turns romantic why pause to take a pill . Or stop to find a bathroom . Cialis for daily use is approved to treat both erectile dysfunction and the urinary symptoms of bph, like needing to go frequently, day or night. Gov 20 seconds, 15 seconds till the opening bell. Bearing in mind what happened last night in france, yes, a terror attack, you might have been linked to the stock market opening this morning. Apparently its not linked. Bang, here we go, its 9 30 and this market will open fractionally higher. Check that big board please, i know its not a big rally, but it certainly isnt a selloff as a result of terror, is it . If you look at the 30 dow stocks most of them are in the green notwithstanding that terror attack. How about the s p 500. Lets have a broadbased indicator. Exactly the same story, its up, not much, but it is up. How about the nasdaq composite, home of all the Technology Stocks . Same story again, its up nine points. 5,043. Zero pullback on any of the big markets thus far. How about the price of gold . You expect that to be up on this particular day after this terror attack . Not so. Down eight bucks at 1323. How about the price of oil . Largely unconnected from terror attacks and stock markets. Its at 45 a barrel. How about the 10year treasury yield. Well bring you that as an important indicator of the market, the bond market. 1. 54 . Holding around 1 1 2 . Lets look at groups of stocks that could be affected by the terror attackment im starting with airlines. Travel to europe may be a little restricted may be cut down a little. The airlines might feel it, theyre down fractionally thus far this morning. United, americans, jetblue. How about hotel stocks, probably affected, but higher is actually dead flat. Hilton, marriott, starwood slightly, not much, slightly on the downside. Travel websites, looking at expedia, priceline, trip advisor, priceline is down very big, down 1 1 2 , so is expedia, 1 1 2 . The trip advisor, inexpicably, i guess, is up a tiny fraction. Defense stocks always to look at in light of World Politics and whats going on. Boeing is down, the rest of them northrup, general dynamic, lockheed, raytheon, up. Dont forget gun stocks, on occasions like this, they go up. Theyre up this friday morning. Smith wesson, sturm ruger. Were off and running, liz mcdonald, steve cortez, scott shellady, john layfield, all are here to figure out whats going on this with market. John, the same question for everybody. Why this divorce between what happened in france last night and the stock market this morning . Well, i think the reason that you have that divorce is because its not a big enough effect on the economy. I think, you know, you have Something Like 9 11 where you have the economy, especially in new york, almost destroyed for a short period of time. This, as horrific as this is, this is a tragedy, it doesnt affect the overall economy. By the way, when you have a disruption in the world, the u. S. Equities are still the safest place to be, so if you see a disruption leak a brexit. Normally money will flow to the u. S. Equities. Stuart same question for you, scott shellady. Why this divorce . Theres a lot of money on the sidelines. Anything thats going to push it lower, the people get back in. And i agree, its a safe place for money to go. Number three, everybodys economy is doing so poorly and ours is better. And theres money from overseas and the reach for return, not just home grown. An unabout much of reasons, none have to do with the economy, why our market has the same question for you, why no impact on the stock market . No impact yet, stuart. I dont think we should get too complacent. I think the reason today, this may seem counter intuitive, but bad news this is horrific news, bad news it mean continued central bank accommodation. I think that the ecb is extremely worried that an attack like this could damage Consumer Sentiment and travel to europe. Are people as willing to go out in cafes and they may not. It means that the ecb will have an easier money policy. I think youre right, steve. Chuck out that money. You and i were walking about this. Even though this is the third moment of silence at the New York Stock Exchange in a month. In a month. The orlando attacks, the sniper attacks in dallas that killed five Police Officers and now today, it takes a lot to rip apart the worlds capital structure. Lets put it that way. For terrorists to try to do that. New york rebounded very well after 9 11 and i just thought the mood of anxiety which that attack created would translate into maybe a lower stock market, but not so. Were up 40 points, and by the way, the dow jones average is now up almost 500 points. Its 500 points higher than it was right before the british voted to exit the European Union. Its made up all of those losses and s p 500 liz and 4 trillion in Global Equity values have been added since june. Added on. Stuart lets go around the block again. Steve cortez, back to you. Can i Start Talking about 19,000 on the dow industrials on a day like this . Well, again, im cautious here, but look, why have we come back, for instance, so quickly from the brexit losses . It was because of central bank policy. Because the bank of england and bank of japan spoke forcefully theyll be accommodative. How can the divorce between all time highs and the Global Economy trudging along, how long can this last . I think were in the latter stages. For now theres enthusiasm for stocks. Stuart okay for now. How about you, scott, 19,000 is a possibility . I actually agree with steve. Exactly whats happening around the world is probably not about the stock market. Its not for the right reason. Can you put your hand on your heart and say that the rest of america is firing on all cylinders and alltime highs . Thats the issue here, were not seeing this trickle down from the stock market. Somethings got to give. We either have to see the bonds rally to the moon and stocks sell off or vice versa, we cant see a 1 1 2, ten year and all time high stock market. Stuart its not going to last. Lets show everybody the big board, were six minutes into the trading session. The dow is up 27 points, 18,534. The s p 500 same story, a fractional gain, but a gain nonetheless, percentage terms exactly as the dowment. 15. Individual stocks, lets take a look at big movers of recent history. Amazon, big mover recently, no movement this morning. Up 72 cents on a 741 stock. We brought you this big ipo yesterda line, thats the whatsapp of asia. And 40 a share online. Yahoo assembling final bids as the auction for the company nears its end and yahoo is at 38. Herbalife in the news. The federal trade Commission Says its not a pyramid scheme. Billionaire Hedge Fund Manager bill ackman claimed it was a pyramid scheme and the fchtc says, no, its not. Some banks have reported earnings, nicole, give me the highlights on the bank stocks. Nicole dont forget j. P. Morgan yesterday had a solid quarter. Today, we have somewhat of a mixed bag and focus on citigroup which came out with their numbers and they saw the quarterly profits drop 14 . But guess what . The stock is at an up arrow today, up about 1 and off the highs because it wasnt as bad as the analysts anticipated. So, it was ultimately better than expected news. Though, its still a drop. And then theres wells fargo, the biggest u. S. Mortgage lender, turns out they had quarter after quarter growth. Theyre seeing losses in the Mortgage Business and it saw the profit fall and set aside money for energy losses, too. Stuart just extraordinary stuff. Aint it just . Nicole, thank you very much indeed. How about twitter . Did you know it was launched at the point years ago today, it was one of the primary means of communications, during the attack in nice, everybody was using it, at the risk of sounding crass, that company cant make money. I hate to put it like that. Its true. Stuart john, its true. Everybody was on twitter last night and they cant make money out of it, whats this . Thats exactly right. Look what theyve done with live events and totally transformed Live Television and you have communications in tragedy, twitter is the goto. Theyve created an incredible platform. Theyre a 12 billion Market Cap Company off 2 billion in revenue and after ten years this is no longer a startup. Its incredible, could be bought out by a bigger company. Stuart what do you say, liz. They lost 2 billion since they launched, half a billion last year. Theyve got cyber bullies, theyve got trolls. Thats a problem. You dont go into a virtual attempt to abuse, but they cant make money despite their prominence in the world. I find that extraordinary. Tech leaders uniting against donald trump and posted an open letter, im going to quote it to you. He campaigns on anger, bigotry, fear of new ideas and new people. And a fundamental belief that america is weak and in decline. We have listened to donald trump over the past year and we have concluded trump would be a disaster for innovation. All right, steve cortez, youre a trump guy. Whats your response to that . Well, my response would be first of all, this letter was signed by a lot of very leftleaning executives, some of the biggest supporters and donors of the Democratic Party and also signed, by the way, curiously, supposed to be from tech leaders, signed by Jesse Jackson of the rainbow coalition. Im going to take economic advice from Jesse Jackson as much as modesty advice from the kardashians. He says hes running on bigotry and thats false on his face, and i say that was one of his supporters, and as a hispanic. Donald trump is not antiimmigrant. Hes the son of an immigrant, married to an immigrant. Hes for legal rationalization, he knows for america to take off, we need immigrants. But a lower flatter simpler taxes, regulatory relieve. Real growth is not coming from the leftist agenda from the signers of this letter, but instead from president trump. Stuart let me move on. Breaking news coming to us from the associated press, ap, donald trump has offered governor mike pence the vicepresident s job. The ap also reports that the official announcement will come tomorrow. Scott shellady, i want to bring you into this because you moved from illinois, you moved to indiana to get away from high taxes. I guess youre reasonably happy about governor pence as trumps running mate, correct . Yeah, i am. I think its well, its probably the first time he took advice and took a safe choice. A loof folks out there wanted to see gingrich, but at the end of the day, stuart, weve got a Budget Surplus in indiana, they run things well, i dont want to say its run like a business, but as close to a business as you can get and i think that he will be a good foil. We dont need two pit bulls in the white house, a good foil for Donald Trumps personality and i think its a good choice in the end. Stuart thank you very much one and all for a great start to this trading session this friday morning. Steve, scott, john, thanks very much, everyone. 12 minutes into the session, were 25 points higher on the Dow Jones Industrial average. The day after yet another horrific terror attack, this time in france. Again, terror in france, 84 people dead on the french riviera. Radical islam waging war on the west. Here is whats coming up. Well bring you Hillary Clinton and Donald Trumps response to that. Trump responds swiftly and hillary appears tough and well play you the sound bites. If you woke up this morning expecting is selloff because of the terror attack in france. You will be mistaken. The Dow Jones Industrial average is up 32 points and theyre up the same in percentage terms, were up. Different store for travel related stocks and theyre mostly lower after the terror attack. And travel to europe has been affected. Weve got red arrows in the travel related stocks. Listen to this, the head of frances Intelligence Agency warned the country france could be on the verge of civil war over the handling of islamic terrorism and he said that before last nights attack. Judy miller is with us. She knows france very well, shes been based there for some time and reported from there consistently. What do you say . The head of the french intelligence says on the verge of civil war, strong stuff. Right. Patrick colbert who is extremely regarded by colleagues is sending a signal not only france, but to all of europe, beware of polarization over this issue and beware of the right. Hes warning against this polarization. Absolutely. Stuart and at the same time its happening. He is saying its happening and it could tear france apart and europe apart. Stuart elections next year, and the nationalist party the party national. Stuart she could win . She could win. Most people dont think she could win, but thats before nice. Nice is a game changer in the way that people feel about their security. Hollande, the president of france is just about to take off the extra security that had been put in place, something called sentinel, which was supposed to guard 1395 separate places, synagogues, tourist sites, where they were last night, we dont know. They had had a full court press on the european soccer championship and i think people kind of relaxed their guard after that, but you know, the idea that a truck could go for almost a mile down one of the main thoroughfares, raises some questions how good the security was. Stuart 1. 1 miles. Can we run that video again, please, where a woman was detained earlier today. Yes, earlier. Stuart i want to run that video just to show you the Police Officers in their helmets, their faces disguised. You could not see them. Thats deliberate. Yes. Stuart this is whats going on in france right now. Thats why it does appear that civil strive is very, very close. Yes, france is a polarized society in any event, its not like the United States where political weight tends to look at that, youll see the woman theyve detained. But look, this is a muslim area. Those are Police Officers, heavily armed, walking around, with these helmets on so you cant tell who they are. Ive put it to you, judy, the Free Movement of people within europe, the shenzhen agreement, you know thats what it is. In ten seconds im going to tell you its finished, its gone. I totally agree with you. Its gone, it used to be a pillar of the eu. One by one, these pillars are being pulled out from under us. Stuart what a story. Judy, thank you for joining us with your expertise. Thank you. Stuart check the markets, you thought they would be down, but now most are in the green. And donald trump Quick Response to those attacks last night. And he postponed his official vicepresident ial announcement. He stand by his temporary muslim immigration ban. More varney in a moment. What if one piece of kale could protect you from diabetes . What if one situp could prevent Heart Disease . One. Wishful thinking, right . But there is one step you can take to help prevent another serious disease. Pneumococcal pneumonia. If you are 50 or older, one dose of the prevnar 13® vaccine can help protect you from pneumococcal pneumonia, an illness that can cause coughing, chest pain, difficulty breathing, and may even put you in the hospital. Even if you have already been vaccinated with another pneumonia vaccine, prevnar 13® may help provide additional protection. Prevnar 13® is used in adults 50 and older to help prevent infections from 13 strains of the bacteria that cause pneumococcal pneumonia. You should not receive prevnar 13® if you have had a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine or its ingredients. If you have a weakened immune system, you may have a lower response to the vaccine. Common side effects were pain, redness or swelling at the injection site, limited arm movement, fatigue, headache, muscle or joint pain, less appetite, chills, or rash. Get this one done. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about prevnar 13® today. This friday morning, we have new swing state polls. Doesnt that that good. Clinton leading 44 to Donald Trumps 37 . In colorado and north carolina, clinton is leading above 40 . So, donald trump continues to struggle to get above 40 in key Battle Ground states. Whether that 40 is a floor or ceiling, the Trump Campaign needs to prove what it is. Stuart and thats with a the 5th of july through the 11th of july. Trying to work out when it was, today is the 13th or 14th liz today is the 15th. Thats the life of a news man. Stuart im losing track of time. Thats the truthment we have news this morning from the associated press. Donald trump picks governor mike pence as his running mate. Thats according to the ap, not confirmed by anyone else. We believe it looks like pence, according to the ap, is the guy. Boris epstein is with us, hes a trump surrogate. I want to talk to you about the politics following the attack last night. It would seem to me that Donald Trumps call for look at muslim immigration is going to. It should be unless the Political Correctness is in the way. Theyre more concerned with offending somebody. We have a leader in trump who is not afraid. And what about Newt Gingrich. He was saying sharp edged. Do you agree with sharia or not . Thats strong stuff. Do newt have any influence on your guy . Newt is a voice in the room, but in the end he has his own policies. Stuart you can see where the discussion is going here. Theres a lot of talk about lets go get them, go to them and kill them and stop them coming in here. And thats the drift of the political conversation this morning. We have to be vigilant. Vigilant people who are coming in, careful who we let in. As far as the citizens in the United States of america, we have a constitution, we still need to uphold the constitution, but within the parameters of the constitution, we have to do everything we can and infiltrate those neighborhoods and those areas, those organizations where terrorism could be spawned and we know that the only way to stop these attacks is not to put bandages on it, but really to go to the source and the source is sharia law and radical jihadist. Stuart he was quick to appearment he appeared on greta, 7 00 hour and bill oreilly 8 00 hour. Thats the kind of leader well get. Respond right away not Hillary Clinton who takes forever. Stuart thanks for having shared it. Another check of markets, if you thought it was going down because of terrorism, youre wrong, were at record levels 18,533. More than 80 people murdered in france, mowed down by a truck in nice. The second hour of Varney Company two minutes away. [shouting] stuart look at that this is the day after. A terror attack in france, on the softest of soft targets. Crowds of people enjoying fireworks on a seaside promenade. 84 dead. The weapon . A truck, driven at high speed for over a mile. It just kept going. Mowing down men, women and 10 children on Frances National holiday. Terror has again pushed into our president ial election. Whats our response as these attacks occur with increasing frequency . President obama seems reluctant to go on the attack. Not fully committed americas military power to wipe out the caliphate strong hold nor changed rules of engagement when our forces confront the enemy. He is reluctant to increase surveillance of potential terrorists at home and will not name it islamic terror. Hillary clinton appeared with bill oreilly. She said it is a war against radical jihadist groups. She would consider taking fight to isis using military. She said we must be smart and trump. Donald trump postponed his vicepresident ial announcement. He tweeted, when will we learn . He stands by temporary ban on muslim immigration. The attack in nice wherever we gather we may be attacked and killed. What will we do about that . Last night the Prime Minister of france said we must learn to live with terror. At Varney Company we profoundly disagree. Stuart of course well have more on the attack in nice. Well have it for you in a moment. First lets get to your money. No link between what happened last night in france and stock Market Performance this morning. The dow hit a new alltime high. Fourth day in a row that it has done that. The s p 500 also hitting a new high. Fifth day in a row weve had one there. Now were also following groups of stocks which may be affected by the france attack. Travel stocks, for example. Were calling these travel stocks, all of them are down same story with the airlines. Will this curtail travel to europe . Yes, might. United, american, delta, southwest, jetblue, theyre all airlines and theyre all down a little. Were also following the financial stocks today. Several of big banks including citigroup reported profits before the opening bell today. Most of the bank stocks are up, except wells fargo. Very big in the Mortgage Market which is down today. President obama released a statement condemning the attack in nice last night. It reads in part on this bastille day were reminded of the extraordinary resilience and Democratic Values that have made france an inspiration. We know the character of the French Republic will endure long after this devastating and tragic loss of life. Ambassador john bolton is with us. Mr. Ambassador, what is the president going to do now . He is not going to do anything. Why should he . That would require him to change his mind. He doesnt think that there is a global terror threat. He doesnt think terrorists have declared war on us. He doesnt think terrorists have a radical political ideology that opposes them to modern civilization. And probably most importantly of all, he fears that an american overreaction, as he would characterize it, will make things worse. So, i think in issuing that statement, the president s pretty much finished with this. Stuart now i heard a Statement Last night from the Prime Minister of france, manuel vols, he said, france must learn to live with terror. Now that was an extraordinary statement i think. Im not taking it out of context. I essentially he was warning the french people for the long haul. It is not going away. We must learn to live with terror. What do you make of that comment . Im very glad he said that. It crystallizes exactly what the difference of opinion is here. I think barack obama, john kerry, Hillary Clinton, all could have said the same thing. They think it is like a lowgrade virus just that goes on forever and as i said, it is only made worse if we really respond to it. You had a clear indication here of what the pressure though is doing to Hillary Clinton. She referred to radical islamic terrorism. Do you think her mind is any different than the president s though . I dont. But lets that as a debate. Thats why i said probably to the point of boredom on your show and others, National Security has got to be the central issue in this president ial Election Campaign in the United States. Stuart now, do you think, i would characterize americas response to terror, at this moment, as a defensive crouch, that we are, it seems like prepared to absorb it, not react strongly to it. Do you think we should completely reverse that stance and go after them, go after them, go get them, go kill them and attack . I think we do and it has to be comprehensive. You have to look at base camps that isis and al qaeda still have around the world. Youve got to look at their export of terrorists, trained in various places but their export of terrorists into europe and the United States, and even more broadly. And youve got to look at their extraordinarily successful propaganda efforts over the internet and otherwise, to radicalize people in place in the western world. We dont have a comprehensive strategy. We dont have a strategy at all. Lets just take the caliphate as one example. President obama says his goal, he repeated this phrase constantly, is to degrade and ultimately destroy isis. It is the wrong strategy. I will give you the correct strategy. It is to destroy isis. You dont need other three words. Every day you delay accomplishing the objective leads to more attacks like the one in nice. Stuart ambassador bolton thanks for joining us. Thank you, stuart. Stuart Hillary Clinton called into the Oreilly Factor on fox news last night. Here is her response to the nice attack. Listen to this. We have got to do more to understand that this is a war. One of my priorities is to launch an intelligence surge. It is a dream of isis to kill american ground troops. Stuart you heard her there. We need an intelligence surge and its a war. This gentleman on the righthand side of the screen jeff dewitt. The chair of the trump arizona campaign. That sounded from hillary, and you heard that sound bite there from the Oreilly Factor last night, that was fairly tough, you would agree . I dont know what is tough about that. What is fascinating too, what you didnt hear in the clip, what oreilly asked. She was giving canned responses that had nothing to do with the question she was being asked. In typical political fashion she would doublespeak about everything. Her answer was create an intelligence focal point. Gather more information. Thats what the politicians do, they use opportunities like this to expand government, encroach on our lives but actually do or solve nothing. Donald trump was on the show before that and said, actual concrete answers of let do something. We have to get it done. Only one that will stand up and protect our country. Stuart let our viewers hear exactly what donald trump said when he also called into the Oreilly Factor last night. Roll that tape, please. This is war unless we get strong and you know, really strong and very, very smart leadership, it is only going to get worse. You know in the old days we would have uniforms. You knew what you were fighting. Stuart you know, jeff, seems like the two sides are crystallizing here. One side, your side, Donald Trumps side, almost universally, go get them, go on the attack, be protack tiff, go get there and kill them. The other side, president obama and some degree Hillary Clinton more defensive, hold on, lets get more information, study this thing s that accurate . Yeah i think it is very, very accurate, we will be like france having to tell our people that they have to start living with terrorism if we go down the clinton path. We have to do things differently. We have to stop this to keep our country safe. Number one job of government is to keep our citizens safe. We cant do it. Donald trump is only one standing up to protect america. Stuart now the Prime Minister of france, mr. Vols, he said, france must learn to live with terrorism. I take it, jeff dewitt, you would completely reject that . Absolutely reject that. And it comes from letting people into the country by the tens of thousands as obama is doing and clinton is doing without knowing who they are from terrorist countries. We have to vet the people. If we move people from terrorist countries shouldnt anyway, should know who they are. Anybody who comes into the country we should know who they are. Bringing people in, putting them in neighborhoods, well see them again. This form of attack, take a truck over a crowd of people was previously in al qaeda paperwork, terrorism manuals. This will happen here. This is going to keep happening all over the country. It shows the power that a single bad individual has to wreak havoc on the public. We can not allow even a single bad individual into this country. We must know everybody, who they are, before they come in, that is what donald trump want to do. Thats what clinton does not want to do. The choice is very simple this fall. If you want to protect america you have to vote for donald trump. Stuart okay. Got it. Donald trumps guy in arizona there is jeff dewitt. He joins us now. Thank you very much, jeff. Appreciate it. Reading from the washington post, the truck attacker in france identified as mohamed bulea. 31 years old. That just in for us. Deirdre bolton is with us now. Deirdre was in france following the paris attacks. Deirdre also worked in france for a french company. The french intelligence director says that country is on the verge of civil war. You got experience there. Is that right . I do indeed, stuart. Based on what you just said about the driver, im going to pick up on that, according to local sources he is a tunisian who was legally living in france. Stuart yep. And jeff dewitt just talked about vulnerability of passports. One thing we need to keep in mind for france there are so many citizens who have dual citizenship, syrian, france, government is addressing that. Do we cancel this idea of dual citizenship . Stuart theyre thinking about that. Yes, they are. Stuart if you have french pans port or tunisian one. It will be canceled. It is controversial a lot of people fight against it. The question you ask me is france on border of a civil war, i dont know civil war but certainly a cultural war, especially nice and surrounding areas, about 25 of the terrorists fighting in iraq and syria have actually come from the nice, either that city or that region. Stuart stay there, deirdre. A lot more for you. Sure. Stuart at some point i want to run video of a woman being detained in a muslim area near nice where Police Officers are wearing, you cant see their faces. Apparently the police are taking to the murders estranged spouse. Well following that story for you. Latest developments. Stuart if you were expecting to wake up this morning to see the stock market go down because of the terror attack youre wrong. Up 33 points for the dow industrials. 18,539. Herbalife, federal trade Commission Says, no, it is not a per rid scheme pyramid scheme, as billionaire suggested, Hedge Fund Manager bill ackman. That stock is up 15 . Look at individual stocks moving in otherwise very interesting market look at this, yield on 10year treasury gone way up. That means the price is way down, 1. 58 . Because Consumer Prices are up for the fourth straight month in a row. Stuart okay. More on that attacks in france. There have been 10 terror attacks in that country in 18 months. Newt gingrich says, it is time to start monitoring mosques and deporting muslims from here who believe in sharia law. Listen to this. We should destroy them with kinetic power using various weapons starting with predators and just frankly just killing them. Western civilization is in a war. We should test every person from here who is of a muslim background. If they believe in sharia, they should be deported. Sharia is incompatable with western civilization. Modern muslims, given upsharia glad to have them as citizens. Perfectly happy to have them next door. We need to be fairly relentless defining who our enemies are. Stuart you heard it. Strong words from Newt Gingrich last night following terror attack in france. Judge alex ferrer is with us. Judge, could we do what Newt Gingrich suggests legally, test them for sharia . Absolutely not. It would be complete live an constitutional not to mention completely offensive to our values. Definitely go after muslim extra dreamists inside and outside of this country. That is not the way to do it. To put it in perspective since inseparate shun of roe v. Wade there have been over 300 Violent Attacks on abortion clinics. What if somebody came out to question all christians whether they support bombing abortion clinics. If we do we should deport them. That is offensive. Real way, go after them where they are. Increase surveilance much activities of mosques we have reason to believe promoting radical activity. There are some other ways to do it, putting entire religion under a microscope and telling everybody that they have to prove their worthiness. That is unconstitutional. Stuart okay. Go on to surveilance of mosqueses. In new york city, as you know, we used to surveil mosques, rather intensely. Yes. Stuart that policy was abandoned by the mayor of new york a couple years ago. Should we go back to it . Absolutely. Never should have been abandoned. There is nothing that requires the police to abide by Political Correctness in their investigations other than Political Correctness. If there is a reason for them to suspect whether it be that other terrorists have come out from that particular mosque, that they have information from members that theres radicalization going on, whatever the reason, if they want to surveil a particular mosque or church, or synagogue for the possible criminal activity, they have a right to do it. They of course can not go in there and kick down doors and search drawers and things like that without a warrant. You have to require a judge say you need a lot more proof than just suspicion. Just suspicion will allow to you watch somebody. If i am walking down the treat. I may not like the fact Police Officer keeping eye on me watching where i go and what i do but he has right to do it. Stuart am i right in saying we have every right in america, within the bounds of our constitution, to tell anybody youre not coming into this country . So we could, constitutionally say, were going to ban all foreign muslims, at least temporarily but we could do that, constitutionally, we could do that, couldnt we . Yes, you absolutely could. You can decide who comes in. You can decide who doesnt come in. Once theyre here theyre entitled same protections as anybody else whether theyre here as citizens or not. Back in 2006 i went with the pentagon and a group of people to the middle east and met with generals at every stop talked to us about the situation with radical islam and terrorist attacks. Back then, were talking 2006, they told us france is out of control. Radical muslims have pretty much taken over. London was a major concern for them and for the british empire. They knew it back then. And they told us back then, this is the different war than world war ii. We are not going to pack up and go home like other wars. This war continues. If we dont continue fighting them here where they are, they will establish and attack us at home. That is the only thing keeping them from attacking us. We pulled out. Thats where we are. Stuart judge alex ferrer, thanks very much for joining us. Thank you, sir. Always a pleasure, stuart. Stuart well bring you more dramatic video from nice. This is from an australian journalist there at the time. A bit herkyjerky. You get the point. You heard someone say shush there. Theyre cowering in a storage room as the attack took place. This location of this restaurant is just around the corner from where the truck was mowing people down. As you can see, terrified diners, huddling together. That is at face of anxiety in the face of terror. Back in a moment. You both have a perfect driving record. Until one of you clips a food truck. Then your rates go through the roof. Perfect. For drivers with accident forgiveness, Liberty Mutual wont raise your rates due to your first accident. And if you do have an accident, our claims centers are available to assist you twentyfour seven. Call for a free quote today. Liberty stands with you™. Liberty mutual insurance. Stuart this market is going up, despite terror attack last night. It is going up 27 points higher for the dow. Roughly half or 2 3, actually, call it half of all the dow 30 stocks are up. We have another Company Going public today. It is called advance peer foods. Makes distributes prepared foods for restaurants, convenience stores, grocery stores. This is day one. Started trading, up 13, 14 . Now among the 84 people who were killed last night in nice there were i believe, emac, two americans . Yeah, a texas father and his 11yearold son. He is sean copeland, he is 51. His son brodie were among at least 84 People Killed. Stuart hold on a second. The young boy brodie in front, the 11yearold, the dad on the left. They were killed in the attack. Thats right. Stuart the two Adult Children saw the attack i believe and got out of the way. They were on a family vacation. They come from how the side of austin, texas. The state department has confirmed these two u. S. Citizens were killed in the attack in nice. The family is saying that essentially they are heartbroken, they are in shock over the father around son, brodie. They were amazing son, brother and father. Stuart down the street, playing baseball. Thats right. Stuart Prime Minister of france, manuel valls, he issued a statement telling country, part of what he had to say, times have changed and we should learn to live with terrorism. We have to show solidarity and collective calm. Deirdre, the expression, we must learn to live with terrorism really stands out. I was surprised. He has been more aggressive. He has called for that to be stopped. He face ad lot of criticism. Stuart hold on a second. Hold on a second. Three Million People have two passports. Out of about 60 million. Stuart one french and maybe tune niche shaun, moroccan, algerian. Exactly. Stuart he is saying you dont have the french passport any longer, he is saying that. He says if you are involved in anything that looks near to what were looking for, your french papers get canceled. Other people have said, youre so silly, because if i want to blow you up, im not worried about my paperwork. Stuart the whole point is that is beginning of getting them out of the country. Exactly. Exactly. Stuart take the passport away youre out. What do they say. Quickly this comes, we learn to live with terror, came after 84 died and including 10 children. 50 more fighting for their lives. French social media is erupting, saying this is disgrace. Hashtag, calling on citizens to fight and government to fight against these evil acts. Stuart there is the truck route. Went 1. 1 miles along the promenade mowing down people as it went, 10 children included. Stable rate for the stock market up 25 points. I want to show you this chart, twitter. The company officially launched 10 years ago today. Look at stock past one year. That is a big drop. We would bring you that one. More from france. Sebastian gorka was on the show this week and warned about another attack in france and europe is lost. More from him in a moment. I want to send a very clear message to all americans. You are on the front line of this war. There is no front line on this war. The front line is when you leave your house in the morning. Thats the front line. Stuart it does not appear at this point the terrorist attack in france last night and the stock Market Performance this morning. The dow for the fourth day in a row hit a new alltime high. Were following groups of talks which may be effected by the terrorist attack. Airlines, most on the downside. American, united, delta, more overseas carriers and that will affect them, if travel to europe declines. Okay, so we are following stocks that may be affected by the attack. I want to get back to that attack in the french riviera. Soon after the attack occurred president obama put out a statement. This is part of it. On this bastille day we are reminded of the extraordinary resilience and Democratic Values that have made france an inspiration. We know that the character of the French Republic will endure long after this devastating and trait i can loss of life. He did call it a terrorist attack. Congressman Louie Gohmert is with us, republican from texas. What is your response to what the president had to say last night . Well, im glad he acknowledged that europe was supposed to have Democratic Values but if we follow the lead of our president and the lead of the head of france, as you have referred to his quote repeatedly, then well have to learn to live with it. And just try to propel out there our Democratic Values and maybe that will make them feel good. Look, you know, stuart, you said it, i am proud that you have, you dont learn to live with terrorism, you defeat it. Can you imagine 1940, darkest hours, darkest days in britain, churchhill stands up and says, we shall learn to live with them on the beaches. Well learn to live with them in the landing grounds. Well learn to live with them in the fields and the hills and the streets. They lose the war doing that. Stuart yes, but he is reluctant warrior. President obama is very reluctant wartime leader. He did not want to lead a war. Well he is a warrior when it comes to firing up the troops against police. You nope he supported black lives matter, and i know he would say, oh, no, im not against the police. I have spoke in their behalf down in dallas. Well the truth is, he and his administration, every time there is an opportunity they play up black lives matter. As black lives matter, people are chanting, calling the police pigs, pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon. We say, oh, that is good, theyre suppressed. Yeah, the problem with isis is, they have poverty and they dont have jobs. We find out so many terrorists come from a lot of money. It is an ideology must be defeeted and well never defeat it when leaders are saying we have to learn to live wit. We need to get rid of leaders like that, vote them out. Stuart do you think america at this moment is prepared to take the proactive, go get them, kill them approach . I dont know. Stuart remember, if you flatten raqqa, you will have 10,000 casualties of innocent people, men, women and children. Can we live with that . We dont have to have 10,000 casualties. Of course these cowardly terrorists like to hide among women and children. So that if we try to attack them, that they can say, look at the terrible things you have done. No, theyre the terrorists. But you have got to go after them where they exist, take them out. You know, this, allahu akbar being said at the start of a terrorist attack, and yet we have people standing back for hours going, well, were not really sure why he did this. Are you kidding me . Theyre at war with us and you stop radical, radical islamic terrorism by stopping the individuals that are doing it. By the way, stuart, yesterday, for 2 1 2 hours, about that, i was sitting over there at the house floor just right here on capitol hill listening to speech after speech after speech. The solution of my friends on the other side of the aisle to stopping these heinous acts like a truck being driven down the street mowing over people is to take guns away from more americans. That is going to solve all of our problems. Well be taking guns away, trucks away, planes away, box cutters away, pressure cookers away until we realize these people are at war with us. I cant help but wonder if the investment coming into america and bringing up the stock market may be after these horrendous, this horrendous act, if it is maybe people saying you know what . The leader of france says we have to learn to live with it . Trump over in america saying he is going to take it out. Maybe our investments are safer in america because you as you know. Stuart maybe. Capital is coward. It goes where it is feeling safer. Stuart Louie Gohmert, thanks for joining us. Thank you, sir. Staying on the terror attack in france, nice, that is. We have a Senior Research fellow who is with us again. I dont want to be extreme or dramatic here but this attack last night has widened the chasm in france and it seems to me that it may well be the final nail in the coffin of the entire European Union. Am i going too far with this . I think youre on to something. I mean i cant fully predict because i actually find the french to be rather unpredictable but i, i think there is Something Like i saw last night, i was with french people who live here but are still strongly attached to france and, and what they were saying is, they feared that this is basically almost a guarranty that lebine will be elected president or increased her chances to be elected. What that means is, she is a candidate who is, who wants to get out of the eu. Who wants to take, you know, close french, close french borders. I mean, so, youre on to something for sure. Stuart okay. Ii want to bring this to your attention. Im sure you know it as well. German chancellor, let in two million, largely muslim migrants just in the past year. That is the same population as brooklyn. Almost the same size as houston, for heavens sake. I suspect she is politically finished and so too is the Free Movement of people across and within europe. I guess the french people are angry at merkel at this point, arent they . Yeah, they are. I mean, i guess german people, mostly are. But whats kind of interesting about france is again, they have, they have conflicted view on this. On one hand they want to keep refugees out but they like Free Movement of people even though they resent ones they actually get. So its, you know, it is complicated but they have already suspended a lot of the Free Movement of people already. And i suspect it is going to continue. Dont forget france is in a state of emergency which gives tremendous power to the president to do a lot of things. He hasnt done quite anything but well see where this goes under pressure. Stuart a lot of us feel that france and you know more about this than i do, a lot of us feel france is on the verge of civil strife. The word civil war is much but civil strife is not out of the question. Go, 10 second. Been going on for a long time. Been going on for a long time. Massive antisemitism, riots, if you remember two years ago or a year ago. These tensions have been, have been there for years and we forget in the 90s there were terrorist attacks already. This is not new. Now it is just much more intense. Stuart yes it is. Who knows what will happen next. Stuart thank you very much for joining us as always. Thank you for having me. Stuart yes, maam, thank you. Get back to your money. More terror, more unease but the markets not even shrugging. Nicole at the New York Stock Exchange. Tell me about it. Reporter what is interesting that the markets seem to have put aside the worries that they had about this terror attack. Early this morning we saw futures to the downside and at this point now were setting records again. The fifth day in a row for s p 500. The fourth day for the dow, right now seeing the dow up 31 points. Good for 401 k s and iras. You know terror is still front and center on peoples minds. While they are putting it aside, something theyre thinking about. Look at cruise lines for example. People are thinking big picture. Will they go on cruises . We always see leisure stocks react on these types of days. We see a name like norwegian cruise down 2. 6 . Royal caribbean down 1. 8 . Carnival. They sometimes can react, travel and leisure type stocks. Havent even it as quite as much. Cruise lines are in particular. Its a soft target for terror. Stuart everywhere is a soft target, nicole. Thank you very much. Donald trump not backing down on temporary ban for muslims coming to america. Hillary clinton says were at war with radical jihadis. Governor mike huckabee, next. Also were still following your money of course. The dow jones averages up 31 points. And with stocks, all of us, many of them at alltime highs. Dont forget big names. Look at apple, amazon, ge, facebook, microsoft. Most of them are either flat, slightly higher, slightly lower. No response to terror. Back in a moment. Liz remember Varney Company starts 9 00 a. M. Eastern time. Here is what you missed last hour. Here is steve cortez on the terror attacks and donald trump. I think the reason today, this may seem counter intuitive, bad news, this is horrific news, bad news can be good news because if means continued central bank accommodation. When you look at europe for instance, i happen to think the ecb this morning extremely worried an attack like this could really damage Consumer Sentiment and travel to europe. Are people willing to go out in cafes and restaurants and destinations . They might not be. What does that mean . Means. Ecb will have even easier money policy. A sad state were in Global Markets but were in that condition. When i looked down, i didnt he see people walking away hurt. Everyone that was down appeared completely lifeless. You could see realize looking down there is absolutely nothing you can do for any of those people that were out. They were obvious signs of them being deceased. Stuart eyewitness accounts are making Donald Trumps proposed ban on foreign muslims coming to america, at least a little more politically attractive. Can we say that . Watch this. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of muslims entering the United States until our countrys representatives can figure out what the hell is going on we must stop importing extremism through senseless immigration. Stuart governor mike huckabee, former governor of arkansas is with us this morning. Governor, you heard this. It does seem that this morning the day after that terror attack, what mr. Trump is calling for more politically viable now adays . Certainly appears skeptics realize you cant keep doing what were doing expecting a different result. That is the definition of insanity and right now were dealing with insanity because there is no negotiation with people who would drive a truck through a busy boulevard and just start mowing down innocent people including kids . These are crazy people. These are not normal, rational, people. And it does not call for normal and, the typical kinds of things you would do to deal with it. Stuart wherever there is a very large concentration of muslims within a judeochristian country there seems to be a very significant terror problem. Should we therefore restrict overall, the size of the Muslim Population in america . I know that is a dramatic thing to say, but it is to some degree a numbers game, isnt it . Well, it is not only a numbers game but i also think its a logical game. Here is the point, people want to come to america to become americans, we welcome you. If you want to come to america to put us under sharia law or make us abide by radical agendas we dont have any obligation to do that. We have the obligation to see that doesnt happen. Weve had several instance, Franklin Roosevelt in 1940 signed an act, essentially you would have alien registration act. The mckaren act of 1952, similar type of situation regarding communism. I realize the courts tossed all that stuff out but you know the courts made lots of decisions that turned out in retrospect maybe not to be brilliant. Im not saying that we have the same kind of acts that we had, some of which probably did trample over some Constitutional Rights of perfectly lawabiding citizens. Has to be done with a real sense of clarity. Stuart, we cant just keep importing terror into our country and tolerating it and acting like there is nothing we can do because we want to protect freedom. What we want to do is protect peoples lives. Stuart stay there for a moment, governor. I will bring our viewers some video we showed you earlier. This is a woman being arrested, detained in france. Now were not sure if this is the same woman that liz macdonald, were hearing reports that the suspects exwife is now being held by police. We dont know if that is the same woman. Liz we dont know if that is correct. This is the exwife. She is, she is estranged from the attacker. She, basically, the elite unit of, that was used, it is called the raid unit. Deals with Violent Crime and terrorism. They went into this modest Apartment Building where she lived alone. He hadnt been there. They took her out in protective custody under questioning. He is known to have beaten his exwife as well, accused and charged with domestic violence. Stuart governor huckabee, quickly, looks to us like france is on the verge of serious civil strife. Your comment . Well, i think there is certainly there and one of the things i found a little bit encouraging even some of the typically political correct european leaders are saying we have to declare war. We have to go all out. Enough of this, lets stop it. Im ready for that to be said by an american president as well. Stuart governor huckabee, thanks for joining us. Always appreciate it. Thank you. Stuart no connection tween the terror attack and what is going on wall street. Dow jones industrial average is on the upside, holding pretty steady at 18,530. Quick look at netflix. This is a stock started the year at 110. Now theyre down to 97. Slightly lower today. By the way they report their profits monday afternoon. To the election, terror now front and center. Ed are call islam at war with the radical islam at war with the west. Hillary clinton and donald trump responding to it. New poll wall street journal. North carolina, key swing state. Hillary clinton 44, donald trump 38. Approaching medicare eligibility . You may think you can put off checking out your Medicare Options until youre sixtyfive, but now is a good time to get the ball rolling. Donald trump just moments ago tweeting out he has picked governor mike pence as his vicepresident ial running mate and that there will be a News Conference tomorrow at 11 00 a. M. This is probably the first, likely the first time in history weve seen a president ial candidate tweeting out, using twitter to announce his vicepresident ial choice. Now were going to go to a sound on tape from zuhdi jasser speaking to stuart varney, going to stay on this. We had sound on tape of zuhdi jasser. Well stay on the trump news. Again, donald trump is announcing that he, via twitter, has chosen governor mike pence as his vicepresident ial running mate. He is saying in his tweet there will be a News Conference tomorrow at 11 00 in the morning. Well be following story as it develops. Well be coming to you live right after the break. Stuart yes, breaking news, indeed. This is happening now. Donald trump just tweeting out that he has picked mike pence this is formal he has picked mike pence, governor of indiana, to be his Vice President cial running mate. Thats just in. Now, we figured this was going to happen. The announcement was postponed after the terror attack yesterday. It was supposed to be now, at 11 00 in the morning. Well, hes actually said it at roughly 11 00 in the morning, mike pence is the man. Governor of indiana. Liz . Its interesting, the news media is making a lot of governor pence was at odds with donald trump on, basically, rejecting Donald Trumps call to ban muslims from entering the u. S. Mike pence tweeting out that its offensive and unconstitutional, and then mr. Trump walked that back. Hes moved away from a blanket religious ban toward a policy that focuses on countries with a record of terrorism. Also, they also tiffed on trade. Mr. Differed on trade. Mr. Pence tweeted his support of the transpacific partnership, and basically he has been at odds with mr. Trump on trade issues, saying it does create jobs. Well see how they reconcile that stuart and there you can see them together. Thats donald trump, and that is mike pence on the left, i should say governor pence. He is the governor of indiana. That was interesting, what you mentioned there, liz, that previously mike pence had talked about Donald Trumps proposed ban on muslim immigration, said that it was wrong. He opposed it. I believe he said it was unconstitutional. Correct. Stuart that, apparently, has been forgotten, and donald trump walked it back thats correct. Stuart walked back what pence had said previously. So now they are together. And there you have it. Okay. Sebastian gawker is with us. Now, sebastian is very much an expert on the terror causing havoc around the world, but i want to ask you about this donald trump pick of governor pence of indiana to be his Vice President. What do you say to this . Im a little bit surprised, stuart. Its, he has his reasons. Im sure he has his reasons. Im a big fan of Newt Gingrich. Im not a policy wonk in the kind of, you know, rnc sense, but as an outsider, as a conservative, my question is on the issue of name recognition with the people that trump needs. So thats my question mark. But as youve noted, its very interesting, the question of refugees and muslim immigrants. What has changed since pence made those statements, and look what happened yesterday in france. I think that could be the answer. Stuart it seems to me that Donald Trumps call for at least a temporary ban on foreign muslims coming into america, that will gain political credibility, perhaps some Political Movement after the terror event yesterday in france. I think donald trump emerges from this terror attack looking like the guy whos got some kind of answer. Do you agree with that . Look, he has to be smart now. How are you going to test somebodys religionsome how Many American christians would pass a test for being a christian . So just take that off the table and say a moratorium on any immigration from active war zones where there are jihadis. Then you defuse all of the criticism, and then youll really understand look, stuart, novembers not going to be about pocketbooks. Its not going to be about obamacare. It is going to be about National Security. Do americans feel safer with donald trump as the commander in chief or a woman who puts tssci information on her home server and who tweeted out not too long ago that terrorism has nothing to do with islam. Thats the decision we have to make in november, stuart. Stuart sebastian, stay this. I want to look at the markets for a moment, because weve got two adopts here outside the market. Number one, the terror attack last night in france, number two, the formal appointment of governor pence as Donald Trumps running mate morning. No impact on the market from either of those two events. In fact, weve got a new high for the fourth day in a e row, a new alltime high for the Dow Jones Industrial average. I should also tell you the dow is up more than 500 points since the day it closed right before the british seat to exit vote to exit the European Union. Remember, please, it dropped 800 points in the couple of days after that vote, then regained it all plus another 500 points. It has been a huge rally in the past three weeks. Nothing to do with terrorism yesterday, nothing to do with the formal appointment of governor pence as the vp for donald trump. Same story with the broaderbased s p 500. Thats on track for a fifth straight day of record highs. Again, same story with the nasdaq, the home of the technology companies. Its down no, its not. Its now up two points, 5,036. Going to take a look at some of the stocks that have been affected by the terror in france. Start with the airlines. The international carriers, they could be affected if travel to europe is diminished. Thats why united, america and delta are all down. The domestic carriers like southwest, no change there, and only a fractional loss for jetblue. Some socalled travelrelated stocks are, indeed, lower. Cruise lines, hotels, mostly lower except for marriott which is virtually dead flat there, its up just one cent. The others are down. Stocks are on a tear for the past few weeks. Let me quote you some names. Apple, amazon, ge, facebook, microsoft, pretty mixed bag there, no major moves except i should tell you that most of those stocks have moved significantly higher in the past three weeks. Kim strasing, wall street journal, she is with us now. I want to talk to you about governor pence. What do you make of that as Donald Trumps veep pick . Look, i think it was a good choice for donald trump. Pence brings him a number of things. Hes probably likely to help reassure some of those establishment, socalled establishment conservatives. Hes well liked and respected by guys like Mitch Mcconnell and paul ryan. He probably helps to settle some nerves among conservative voters as well. Remember, mike pence headed the Republican Study Group back in the house, he was a tea party member, an evangelical christian. Theres the midwest factor, gee ogging my. This may help in terms of the electoral college. Hes also an effective communicator. This was a guy who was a radio talk show host, hes very disciplined about his message. This is probably, all in all, a good pick for donald trump. Stuart kim, it looks to me like youre in cleveland at the convention site. I am in cleveland. Stuart i thought so. Boots on the ground. [laughter] stuart high heels on the ground, i dont know. Now, can you assess the mood there now that weve got mike pence as the veep pick . I mean, i take it that this is the absolute end of the never trump business . Yeah. Theres not just the vp pick but, look, theyve managed to get through most of the controversial things here. The platform is out. That happened with minimal disruption or sort of problems. Youve now got a veep pick that, i think, a lot of people will be reassured by. And then what you had last night late in the evening was this rules committee putting the final kibosh on those who were attempting to free up the delegates. They inserted some rules into the package that makes that generally impossible. Stuart now, it seemed to me that donald trump wanted to make a big splash announcement, that he wanted to keep everybody on hold, didnt want anybody to know who his Vice President cial pick would be. Big buildup to 11 00 this morning. Those hopes were destroyed by leaks in the media, and then by the french, the terror attack last night. But hes still got to make headlines when he made the announcement at 11 00 this morning. He still got the big splash, he still diverted the news media to his attention as opposed to terror or president obama. Hes won again. I mean, he did it it was probably the right way to handle it. Remember, i mean, Vice President ial announcements are somewhat celebratory. You dont want to have that mood or that show in the wake of what happened in nice. But he did get to make his news. I think, too, that this is donald trump as he always is. Hes got it out there, and hes going to [laughter] hes definitely going to dominate the headlines whenever he can. Stuart yes, he is. That is for sure. Boots on the ground right there in cleveland, kim, thanks very much for joining us. We appreciate it. Thanks, stuart. Stuart Sebastian Gorka is still with us, you there . Yes. Stuart good. Now, it seems to me whats happening in france right now is the first its the start of the end of the European Union. I dont see how they can hold this thing together we events like this going on. Am i going too far . No, no, i completely agree with you, stuart. You add brexit into the mix, you look at after brexit, what was the figure . 64 of the french who were polled said they want to leave the e. U. As well. You cannot do effective National Security if you cant even control your borders. So, yeah, its dead. Its dead in the water. They wont admit it for a couple of years, but its the party is over, stuart. Stuart and Angela Merkel seems to be politically finished. It now emerges that 2. 2 million largely muslim migrants flooded into that country. Very few of them have got real jobs, but all of them are now able to move around europe. She is surely hold on a second, im being gestured at. Also Angela Merkel told a rally of her Political Party that, yes, isis is putting terrorists in the refugee flow into europe. She said that at a rally. Stuart Angela Merkel said, finished politically . Shes always a dollar and a day late. What was germany about for the longest time, this false, this halfpregnant thing called social market, yes . They said theyre a free market, but theyre a social welfare state. You cant do that. What did she say years after she should have said it . Multiculturalism is dead. Now years after she should have admitted it, she said, uhhuh, the jihadis are hiding in the migrant streams. So i think she has to pay the price for that, stuart. Always coming up with the right answer late, you have to pay the price. Stuart okay. Seb, we appreciate you being with us op an important day. Thank you. All right. Hillary clinton, she responded to the attack last night with a rare appearance on the Oreilly Factor. She gave what some say a surprisingly strong statement. Roll that tape. Weve got to do more to understand that this is a war. One of my priorities is to launch an intelligence surge. It is a dream of isis to poll american ground troops. Stuart unfortunately, i said good wyoming goodbye to kim strazzing. You just heard what Hillary Clinton had to say on the Oreilly Factor last night. Seemed a little bit tougher. How is she handling this latest terror attack . Yeah. I think what Hillary Clinton has come to understand is that this is going to be one of the dominating themes of this election, and she cannot afford in any way to be seen as weak. I think she understands shes got a problem, that she is tied at the hip and in word and deed with obamas policies which squandered our gain against terrorism out there and has allowed the rerise of isis and all all of the problems were seeing now. She is lumped in with him and viewed as similarly weak and, for instance, even on the question of talking about radical islam. So you now see her changing her tone and her message. Shes going to try very hard to look a lot tougher on this because that could be a deciding question in this election. Stuart you think it will be a big deal in the election, the whole concept of security and terror and our response to it . I think its going to be one of the biggest ones. Look, i dont know how you can see what happened in nice and see how quickly it follows on orlando, see how quickly it follows on the other things and not believe this is now possible a weekly or biweekly occurrence out there across the world. This is going to dominate headlines. And the people, the voters are going to be viewing National Security as one of their Top Priorities because, first and foremost, voters want to know that they feel safe. Stuart you know, we did have one terrorist incident in france every six weeks, and thats been going on for the past 18 months, and thats extraordinary. Yes, its there in the election. Kim strassel, thank you very much, indeed. To the markets, please, look on the lefthand side of your screen. If theyre in green, theyre up; in red, theyre down. And on the righthand side, weve got a pretty dead flat Dow Jones Industrial average, were up eight points, 18,515. Hillary clintons not the only candidate who responded to the attack in nice last night. Donald trump was out tweeting. Heres what he said. Another horrific attack, this time in nice, france. Many dead and injured. En when will we when will we learn . It is only getting worse. Thats what he said. More varney next. Every year, the amount of data your enterprise uses goes up. Smart devices are up. Cloud is up. Analytics is up. Seems like everything is up except your budget. Introducing comcast Business Enterprise solutions. With a different kind of network that delivers the bandwidth you need without the high cost. Because you cant build the business of tomorrow on the network of yesterday. This is war. Unless we get strong and, you know, really strong and very, very smart leadership, its only going to get worse. You know, in the old days we had uniforms, you knew what you were fighting. Stawfort stewart that was Donald Trumps response to the attacks. The attacks becoming, dare we say, the new normal. By the way, there have been ten attacks just in france since january of last year. Eding rolince is here, a trump supporter. What impact do you think the attack last night and the terror attacks generally will have on our election here in america . Well, i think the american public, as the world public, is going to be looking for strong leadership, someone whos going to have a clear understanding of the terrorism that we face and basically start coming forward with some solutions. Its nice to have tough rhetoric, but at the end of the day, how do we fix this . We cant just keep drying to wipe trying to wipe leaders out with drones. Very much like george h. W. Bush, bring a coalition of World Leaders together and go track these people down and kill them. Stuart you think that the American People want america to use its power to go after them, no longer the defensive crouch position, but go get em. And it may not just be with troops. Obviously, its got to be a special force type of an activity. Its not like putting 100,000 troops somewhere. Youve got to find them, hunt them down, coordinate with other worldwide intelligence networks, knock some of these barriers down, and basically, target these people, find them and take them out and gather the information. I mean, how do you stop a guy in a truck, as ruthless as this guy was, to drive down a mile and a half stuart that is an extraordinary detail, isnt it . When you think of driving over one mile, mowing people down all the way. You know, and obviously knew exactly what he was doing, and at the end of the day, you know, these are a different kind of an enemy. We talk about no uniforms stuart yeah. These are crazy, driven by their ideology and what have you. Weve got to understand that. Stuart its the sheer brutality of it. This guy in the truck was watching the fireworks from on top of the hill. I mean, if you know the area at all, its high up in the hills. He was parking his truck, he looked down, he waited for the moment when the people were exiting the fireworks display in large numbers and deliberately, for a mile, just creamed em. It was premeditated. He had to get a heavy Truck Drivers license. He also rented the truck within days of the attack and sat there and waited. They shut down thats me mad at 3 p. M. , and he got there before they shut it down to do the attack. Stuart i think its the depths of depravity, the brutality employed, that will make americans more amenable to go get em. I think so too. I mean, my wife this morning has been very upset by all this. She said, you know, i just she said, im afraid to go anywhere. I said, thats what terrorisms about. Thats the idea. They go places where unless you basically get as ruthless as they are in the sense of heres the ones we know that are leaders or here are the ones we dont know, go find them and take them out. Just about donald trump and what he is saying, he is saying exactly what james comey and other leaders in our Intelligence Community have been saying. We cant vet them. We cant vet them from these muslimdominated countries. So why not just focus on the countries now where we have terrorist hot spots. Hes basically saying exactly what our Intelligence Community is saying. Stuart what do you make of the appointment of governor pence as Donald Trumps running mate . I think hes a superb choice. You know, there are other choice, but ive known mike pence. Hes a very fine governor. Hes a good conservative. Hes a very smart guy, and i think to a certain extent will add a great dimension to this you know, the key in picking a Vice President , you want someone who helps you a little, doesnt hurt you. Obviously, this man will help a lot. Stuart ive heard some comment that pence will calm down donald trump. I dont think anybody calms him down. I think Donald Trumps going to do what hes going to do, and thats part of strength and weaknesses of his campaign. Mike pence, the people who know him accept him and welcome him to the team. Stuart weve got an update on the number of people wounded in the attack in nice last night. 202 people wounded, 25 are on life support, 52 are in critical condition. So we have 84 dead, ten of them including children and teenagers. And right now other breaking news, investigators in france are now probing the links between possible links between the suspect and the terror groups in the nice attack. He was completely unknown to intelligence services. Saying that because the intelligence services, we know from whats going on in brussels, they often tend not to talk to their police. We dont know if theres that disconnect in france and whether theyre working to resolve that. Stuart you know, you were right, people are taking this personally in america because we are all vulnerable. We all can imagine Something Like this happening. A fourth of july parade, a january 1st event, and its a terrible tragedy. And we have two Major Political events coming up with lots of people, so stuart ed rollins, thanks for become here. My pleasure. Stuart heres a look at the dow. We are now down, not much, 18,502. Down just three points. More down stocks than up stocks. Okay. And we are learning a bit more about some of the victims. Two americans, theyre on your screen, two americans among the dead. A 51yearold, sean copeland, his son, 11yearold brody, both from texas. Family friends say copelands wife and two Adult Children witnessed the attack but managed to escape. They were there for their dream european vacation. Stuart after another terror attack, we can say the following no society can harden all its soft targets. Our shopping malls, trains, subways, main streets are open and, therefore, vulnerable. No society can ban all the weapons that terrorists can use. In france it was a truck, in boston a treasure cooker. You cant ban your way to safety. No society can stand by and do nothing as these attacks continue. Muslim immigration in rope and amicwi come under increasing harsh scrutiny. The European Union is finished, my opinion. Angela merkel brought in over two million largely muslim migrants. They have Free Movement throughout europe. That will stop. Throughout our program today, you have seen the horror that unfolded last night. The video is disturbing because you see the victims, and you know it could be any one of us anywhere at any time. Right after the attack the Prime Minister of france said france must learn to live with terror. That will not fly in america. Surely we will never learn to live with the attacks that go to the heart of who we are. It sounded like an attack in beirut. I know that sounds crazy to say. I said to my friend, this doesnt sound like fireworks, this sounds like beirut when its under attack. [gunfire] show had ended, but we just assumed there were fireworks still going off. But then really shortly after that i saw people running, and, you know, we didnt at this point know what we were running from. Stuart im sure youve seen a lot of that videotape, but it sure brings home the chaos and terror of the moment. That last young lady was a witness to the attack. Now, Hillary Clinton responded by calling for an intelligence surge to fight what she called radical jihad ruties. Charles hurts with us, hes with the washington times. Whats your feelings about what Hillary Clinton had to say last night . Its really quite amazing, stuart, to sit here after eight years of this administration. You know, Hillary Clinton was the author of so much of the obama Foreign Policy, and to hear her now and, you know, you hate to bring up politics, you hate to look at manager as tragic as this through the lens of politics. But, you know, its an election. Weve got the conventions going on. You must look at it like this, and we must face the fact that this is, you know, politics does play a huge part in fighting this war. And for her to sit here and talk about how we need an intelligence surge, where has she been for the past eight years . Where have they been for the past eight years . France doesnt want to hear about an intelligence surge, they dont want to hear about people, you know, americans standing with them. They want people we all want people to stop getting killed by these people, and there has to be a concerted, a forceful effort to do something about it. Be i think that Going Forward in the campaign this is going to be a real problem for her. She cannot get out stuart charles, it seems like this morning, the day after, politics is divided into two camps. On the left, president obama, Hillary Clinton, democrats generally favor a continuation of the defensive mode, whereas the right donald trump in particular and some generals and Newt Gingrich favor go get em, a proactive approach. Attack. Dont defend, attack. Its a pretty big split. Its a huge split. You couldnt have more die can metrically diametrically opposite approaches to this. One of the things i think is so interesting is to listen to john kerry and barack obama talk about the reason were seeing these attacks is because theyre so successful in the field. Well, the whole first part of president obamas response to to withdraw fromretract from the dick cheney president bush strategy of killing them over there so that we dont have to kill them over here. And for them to now say, well, you know, now that theyre actually reversing some of that and going after them on the field, for them to now say, oh, no, weve been so successful at this, this is why were having these attacks, you know, in france and in the United States and places like this, it really does reveal just how aimless the president s Foreign Policy is. And Hillary Clinton has no choice but to own every bit of that. And itll be interesting to see Going Forward at what point does she start to, when she realizes that this is hurting her in the election, at what point does she start trying to distance herself from president obama and the policies she helped to create. Stuart thats a fair question. Their Convention Comes up the week after next, the week after cleveland. Charles hurt, are you in cleveland, by the way . Is that where insure. Yes, indeed. Its a glorious day here. Im looking out over the great lake, and it is pretty spectacular here. Such a sharp contrast to the sadness in france today. Stuart well said. Im sure well be back to you frequently over the next week. Hope so. Stuart appreciate it. Now, our next guest is a former army ranger who responded to the september 2012 terrorist attack in libya. Kris paranto is with us, and hes fought against radical islamists right there face to face. You say im pretty sure youre in the camp that says go get em oh, yeah. Stuart very different from the camp that says defend and hold. Is that where you are . Of course i am. The best offense, actually, the best defense right now is a good offense. Youve got to get over there, and youve got to destroy them on the ground. You want to keep the battle over where it originated from which is in iraq, which is in libya, which is in afghanistan. I know its hard on the afghanis, the libyans and the iraqis, and there are good muslims over there. There are. But we need to band together and fight with them and destroy terrorism. Stuart i want to know what exactly would you do . On this program this morning weve had a couple of generals and some military commentators who say just go level raqqa, turn it into a parking lot. Just do that. [laughter] how do we do this . No. You have the special Operations Community is outstanding. Youve got the seals, youve got the rangers, youve got delta, youve got special forces, i can go on, marine force recon. You send those troops in. You go in at night, and you dismantle and destroy those pockets that are in there. You cant just go in and bomb them. You cant. Youve got to have those hunterkiller teams, those special op toes teams in these towns and destroying stuart kris, have you done that . Yeah. With the, yes [laughter] yes, i have. Stuart okay. And also with the agency. The agency has the capability as well, the cia. But with your guest before, he is correct. The intel should be better. Over the last eight year ors, i dont think the intel has been good enough. And for hillary to come out and say we need to improve the intel capabilities, what have we been doing the last eight years . Stuart okay. But i have to ask a military question. Youve been there. Youve fought them. Are they any good . They are good at blending. They are good at attacking weak targets. Perfect example was in nice. Theyre good at doing massive casualtieses, and theyre good at pucking an area that is doing at picking an area thats going to show up, and the worlds going to say, wow, look at this. Shock and awe is the best example, a bush reference. Theyre good at that, and thats how they utilize their recruiting. They recruit well on social media. Theyre excellent at what they are good at, and that is the small scale where theyre going to only lose one or two guys, but just blowing up and destroying weak targets. And thats what that was. And look where were at now. Now were in complete terror attacks. Weve got to go in there and do some retribution. But you cant just go in and carpet bomb. Stuart okay. There is a clear divide here. One side, largely the left, says hold on, defend. Your side says go after em and kill em, one way or the other. Kris, im out of time but, look, im glad youre with us. I wanted to hear from a professional how on earth youre going to do this. Thanks very much, kris. Thank you, sir. Stuart i want to add to what Hillary Clinton has been saying, shes actually clarifying her plans for muslim immigration if she were to become the president. I have to ask, liz, is she making it clear how many muslim migrants she would allow in . Yeah, thats whats at issue. Hillary clinton, lets be clear, saying because isis has destabilized so many regions that theyre effectively pushing out families, that she would accept those families and refugees into the country so long as there was proper vetting. Now, people are doing the math on how many people she would let in shes elected president. You know, 149,000 permanentlyresettled muslims from muslimdominated countries in 2014. Shes saying add up to another 65,000. So when you do the math on that, some are doing, 214,000 in a year. Stuart thats how many she would let in possibly. Stuart in her first term if she would let in. Possibly. Heres the thing, heres whats going on. Lets back up. Congressman Jeff Sessions is already taking a look at what Hillary Clinton is saying. Hes saying according to his math she would let in 620,000 refugees in her first term, which is about the size of baltimore. Now, what his concern has been as well besides security is the cost of it. Because he is saying people arent really, in the government arent accounting for medicaid and food stamp costs for resettling refugees. Stuart lets be clear. Donald trump says nobody, no foreign muslim comes from terrorist hot spots. Stuart okay. Hillary clinton is saying, yes, we will resettle refugees, maybe 100,000, maybe more. Thats what shes saying. Yes. Stuart thats difference between the two sides. Thats the difference. Thank you, yes. Stuart quite a difference. Liz, thanks very much, indeed. Sure. Stuart to the markets, please. If you woke up this morning expecting a big selloff because of terror, you were wrong. We have a minuscule selloff, were down 8. 5 points, and a majority of the dow stocks are in the red. That means they are down. But this is by no means a selloff after the terror in france. And more on the terror. Newt gingrich has a strategy, and that is kill em all. Well be back. Of course, we had a horrific terror attack in nice, france, 84 dead. Markets were a little spooked in the early going. However, theyve come off the lows, back in the red now. The dow down seven, s p down four at this time. After hitting records again. Were watching the cruise lines because as people start to worry about people in congested areas, they think about cruise lines, and we saw those under some pressure. Were also taking a look at some of the other movers including the names that are pushing the dow higher. Unitedhealth, General Electric and caterpillar are moving to the upside. Take a look at what else is moving as weve seen commodities mixed, oil is higher as gold pulls back. Theres a look at some of the lifetime highs on the s p 500. Ulta and Philip Morris hitting new highs. We should destroy them with kinetic power using various weapons starting with predators and, frankly, just killing them. I am sick and or tired of being told that the wealthiest, most powerful civilization in history, all of western civilization, is helpless in the face of a group of medieval barbarians. Stuart i think he made it pretty clear, former House SpeakerNewt Gingrich, how he thinks we need to handle terrorism. Ollie north is with us. Your reaction, sir, from what you just heard from Newt Gingrich. Well, hes spot on. In fact, hes using my talking points that he and i just discussed a few weeks ago in hungary, of all places, where we went to a refugee camp. Sir, what weve got to do is start calling this by exactly what it is, radical islamist jihadi terror. Doesnt matter the trade name, all just different trade names of franchises from hell. Theyre all pushing the same product, death to infidels like you and me. If this madness is going to end, heres what we need to do, five points. Number one, not enough to condemn in the strongest terms possible or tell ourselves to stand shoulder to shoulder with our allies. Its b. S. , and the jihadis know it. Number two, stop speculating about whether the perpetrators are directed, inspired, radicalized or just plain nuts. Including us have toeaders acknowledge this is going to continue until radical islamists no longer have safe havens to call home and create chaos and propaganda. Number four, they have to be killed x when theyre dead, dont have a press conference and show pictures or video of the president and his pals wringing their hands in the sit room. Number five and last, instead of bragging about how we did it, use some reverse propaganda on these guys. Theyre good at it, we can be. Put out the word. Stuart okay. So and so just died because the finger of god struck him down. That will help. Stuart ollie, this is such a new kind of war. Do you think we need a new kind of military organization to fight it . Im very much aware that the military weve got now fights the wars of the past, big set pieces. Do we need something brand new from the military here . No. Look, stuart, you come from the british isles. For 75 yearses you guys in the u. K. Dealt with an outfit called the i. R. A. Its gone. Why is it gone . One, because they have no safe havens and, number two, we propagandized. It doesnt commit terror anymore. We need to do the same kind of thing. Good intel, hardened targets. Weve got poor quality surveillance cameras look at the fact iphones are better than what with weve got the brits knew how to do that. Stuart but, ollie, it took them decades. Do you think americans are prepared to wait decades under an attack like this . Well, look, truth be told this is a generational fight just like it was in the u. K. Look, we know how to do this. You guys set the model for it, and you cant continue to do the same old thing, and what were doing now is better because were going to put 500 and some odd more folks out there to fight in the Mosul Campaign with the peshmerga that i was just with a few months ago. But before you drive on mosul, or you need a sunni force of egypt, jordan, turkey, people were not even communicating with, to take out isis in raqqa and end the syrian civil war. Look, weve got 115 days before we hire a new commander in chief. We have got to break the embrace with iran, or were screwed. Weve got to break the perception that the United States is joined at the hip with tehran. Stuart thats your out cue, ollie, we are screwed. You got it, buddy. Stuart we appreciate that. Battlefield humor and language. Thanks very much, sir. All right. The terrorist magazine, its called inspire. Back in 2010 it laid out stepbystep directions for a truck attack just like the one we saw last night in niessments. It came under the headline, the ultimate mowing machine. Heres the advice pick your location and timing carefully. Go for the most crowded locations. It also advised to achieve maximum carnage, you need to pick up as much speed as you can, be a able to strike as many people as possible in your first run. Stuart and, you know, thats exactly what the truck driver did last night. Yeah. Stuart he waited, waited for the crowds to assemble on the promenade in nice, drove down, then drove 1. 1 miles, plow em down. He took exactly what they a said right. And to congressman Louie Gohmerts point, isis, an isis group just last month issued a propaganda video. And, you know, Louie Gohmert was saying the democrats are making this a fight about guns. For isis theyre saying use whatever weapons at hand, however lowtech. One such video online they said fill your car with gas. Your neighbor is an infidel. So theyve not just saying isis and terrorists are saying dont just use guns, use any lowtech, you know, device you can to inflict carnage. Stuart all day long weve been talking about the divorce between the terror, the horror last night in france and whats happened on wall street, the Financial Markets today. Theres a disconnect, theres a divorce, in fact. The dow industrial average right now, okay, its down 12 points, but that is not the huge selloff which some people may have expected. And now this, frances Prime Minister says we must learn to live with terror. Can you believe that . Thats exactly what he said. More on his statement in a moment. Stuart 84 people dead including ten children, over 200 injured. Stacy miketree is with us now, hes coming to us from paris. Stacy, we feel, we understand that france is extremely tense at the moment. Are they on the verge of civil strife, do you think . Well, i mean, id say that france be has been extremely tense for more than a year now. I mean, going all the way back to the Charlie Hebdo attack in january of last year, thats when we sort of first went into a state of emergency, and then that was then stepped up with the november 13th attack. So the countrys been on edge for a while, and this is just going to exacerbate the problem. Stuart when people of muslim descent, when they walk down the street, they are identifiable as muslims. Whats the attitude towards them now . I mean be, its a totally divided society, isnt it . Well, i mean, lets if i can be frank, you dont often see, you know, in the center of paris you wont necessarily see, you know, large groups of muslims walking through. I mean, unfortunately, as you know, you know, the french urban landscape is heavily session regated segregated where the muslim minorities tend to live. And theres not a lot of, you dont have, you know, you dont have one side visiting the other very often. So stuart we understand that president hollande wants to extend the state of emergency, but we also understand that he might not have the manpower or the money to do it. Is terror imposing real financial trouble on france . Well, this is the fundamental problem, you know . As you know, he had been scheduled to end the state of emergency and end this extra spending toward the end of july. And he Just Announced in the other day. And then all of a sudden here he is having to roll back that announcement and say, you know what . Were going to keep the state of emergency, were going to extend all these special measures. That puts additional strain on French Security forces and police. Stuart what a situation. Stacy, thank you very much for being with us. We do appreciate it on a very difficult time for everyone. Liz, one thing i want to say here. The attack last night was on a very soft target using a common weapon like a truck. I think that makes every one of us in every western country feel intensely vulnerable all the time. Its raised the anxiety level. Yeah, it has raised the anxiety level. And, you know, frances rightwig, basically, the top candidate is speaking right to that. Shes saying this is the new face of terror. Theres no hierarchy, its a terrorism of opportunity, and shes saying nothings being done to shut down radical mosques or ban organizationses. And the other issue, too, is about the muslim countries that are not taking in refugees, right . Stuart yes. Saudi arabias saying, yes, we do take them in, but not to the degree other countries including, you know, also not taking in refugees, qatar, kuwait, bahrain, uae, that needs to be part of the conversation as well. Stuart another nail in the coffin of the European Union. Thats being strong, but i think thats whats about to happen. All right, everybody, more varney after this. Stuart what an extraordinary day. For anyone expecting the Dow Jones Industrial average to sell off, well it didnt happen. We actually opened at 9 30 eastern time this morn, went up 30, 40 points. Weve come back a bit since then. Were still down 14 points. Not many people were expecting that. It seems when we have a terror incident it doesnt automatically translate into a stock market selloff. Today it did not. My times up. Charles, it is yours sir. Thank you very much, stuart varney. Yes, we are at war. The big question when will america start acting like it and rest of the western world. This is cavuto coast to coast. Im Charles Payne filling in for neil cavuto. Yet again horror strikes. 84 deed in nice, france. Two americans among victims. More than 200 hurt. 25 on lifesupport. 52 critical condition. World leaders are condemning the attack but are they really doing enough to stop these attacks . Security expert paul voilas joins us. As i look at this, see some different angles. A terror angle, political angle. To a Degree Police angle
