All three bring ideas and, yes passion to the race. The establishment well represented by jeb bush. Success is the governor of pl, and hes not afraid to take on the big issues like immigration. Theres governor huckabee, governor perry, dr. Ben carson perhaps ohios john kasich, a long list of people. The democrats, a narrower field and, again, in my opinion hess talent. Hillary is the front runner oh, yeah, theres plenty of political talent there, but is that the kind of political talent America Needs in the white house . The boston globe wants senator Elizabeth Warren to oppose hillary not because ms. Warren has great talent but because hillarys scandals may doom her candidacy. As for senator warrens ideas since when has socialism been a winning idea in america . Then theres martin omalley, former governor of maryland. His job was taken by a republican in maryland. And lets not forget Vice President biden, apparently willing to throw his hat in the ring. Republicans must be hoping fervently for a biden gaffeprone candidacy. No when it comes to bench strength the republicans have it the democrats do not. Maybe after eight years of the most leftwing president of all time, endless failure has brought out the talent on the other side of the aisle. I live in hope. I think he has, you know, unbendable political principles, and thats something a lot of conservatives who have just been kind of unnerved by this kind of Feckless Congress are really looking for. So i think he will be a very welcome addition. He wants to repeal obamacare move to a flat tax, personal accounts for Social Security i find him very attractive. And i agree entirely with what you just said by the way, stuart. If you look at this field of candidates the republicans are putting out there, people like marco rubio and rand paul and scott walker and jeb bush i would make this point, everyone who is running this time in 2016 is better than anybody who ran for the republicans in 2012. Its a powerful field. Stuart do most of them im not going to say all, but do most of the candidates as we know them are most of them in favor of growth through lower corporate and personal income tax rates . Well, theyd better be, thats why larry kudlow and steve forbes and art laffer and i started the committee to unleash american prosperity because we believe that is the central issue in this campaign. How do we get growth in this 2 slump up to 4 , and ive even heard you talk about 5 growth which i would love to see and i think were capable of. I would say ive talked to almost every one of these republican candidates now, and theyve got that growth message, you know right smack in their head. And they are going to really focus on tax reform. In fact, you know i think youre going to see four, five or six of these candidates, stuart, talking about some version of a flat tax. Remember when steve forbes ran on that 20 years ago. Stuart do you think thats sellable to the american electorate . Yeah, i do. Stuart do you really . Thats a revolution steve. It is a revolution, but heres the point, i dont think americans should play small ball. I think they should be talking about blowing up the tax system starting completely over. Ive said this on your show i bet, stuart, you and i could sit down in half an hour and come up with something that is much more progrowth, more fair and something that the American People that would buy into, get rid of the loopholes, get rid of the special interest carveouts. Yeah, i think the American People are ready for that because they see this tax system is sending jobs abroad. Stuart last one real fast, the boston globe wants Elizabeth Warren to run against hillary. Lets suppose wildly that Elizabeth Warren is elected president of the United States of america. What would that do to the United States economy . [laughter] im not being funny shes the op opposite extreme, shes way out there on the left. I think shes a socialist. What would that do to the economy . Well, it would be negative but, look, weve had barack obama for six years, and hes pretty much a socialist himself, right . Somehow we muddle through. This is a nightmare scenario youre laying out, it is a total night mauer that after eight years nightmare that after eight years of barack obama wed have brent warren. I dont think its going to happen. I think people are looking for the opposite of obama, someone with experience, who beliefs in the Free Enterprise system. This is a business show, why cant we have a president who thinks that business is a good thing that companies are values, that there is value in our company that makes profit . I mean, everybody in this town that im sitting in thinks companies are evil, businesses are evil, profits are evil. Stuart maybe that will change. It sure has to in my opinion. Are you saying that corporations actually run these elections . They stuart with that money . They give a lot of money, and you need some of that money. I dont think you can run as a pure populist without any sort of support from wall street, from special Interest Groups on the right. Excuse me from corporate special Interest Groups. I just dont think you can do that. She will not be able to do that and unless Hillary Clintons emails come out with some sort of scandal, shes going to be the president ial nominee for the democratic party. I mean but the left just loves this whole thing. Its like a fantasy. Of its like i think Elizabeth Warren has about as much chance of unseating Hillary Clinton as i do now listen to the this analogy going to del friscos, picking up jennifer aniston, bringing her home and not having my wife kill both of us. The sales have come down, probably half of what they were before they were running at 60 a year sales growth, probably down to the 30 now, and that has scared a lot of the momentum investors out of the stock and left it quite cheap much cheaper than coach on a price to earnings stuart really . Thats interesting. I always think of coach as the old i call it a democratic luxury stock because its handbags and that kind of thing were just in reach. Right. Stuart and then along came kors with maybe a better selection and they took over that role. Youre saying kors is now cheaper on a financial basis than coach . Its stock is cheaper on a pricetoearnings basis. Some of the stuff they sell is actually a lot more expensive than coach. They do the affordable luxury like coach does, but they also have coach thats closer to lvmh territory. Stuart where do you think the stocks going to go to . Probably 25 up over a year. But the issue comes down to the fact that for years now the academy of nutrition and dietetics has had very cozy ties to corporations like cocacola, pepsico, hersheys mcdonalds, kelloggs and general mills. And a lot of dietician including myself, are tired of what should be an organization for nutrition really protecting corporate interests. Stuart really this is part of the processed versus fresh food debate. I think the countrys moving more towards fresh food and away from processed food, and this is part of that debate do you agree with that . Absolutely. Stuart okay. Now, apart from the conflict of interest tell me what is wrong with kraft singles . Because ive got six kids and nine grandchildren and thats the only kind of cheese that they eat. Certainly when they were youngsters. You want to remove that from kids was i a bad parent a bad grandparent for feeding my kids this processed cheaz . Absolutely not. The issue is that dieticians feel that this seal comes across as an implied endorsement, and a product like kraft singles is pretty high in sodium and does not really offer many of the nutrients that most children in the u. S. Are not getting enough of. And this is exactly why dieticians have been extremely upset and in a beta has never happened in a way that has never happened before are really protesting. Its not so much that, its really more a battle against our own organization selling out our credential year after year, because what ends up happening is that dieticians are starting to realize that these kind of partnerships ultimately hurt our credibility.
