In the Energy Industry say the worst of the oil bust has passed. This is the report of Economic Conditions that policymakers are used at the next policy meeting, and a lot of talk from fed members that they might raise Interest Rates at that meeting at the end of the month and used as ammunition for both sides on that debate. Cheryl debates are going to happen now, peter barnes at the Federal Reserve and what the beige book says, i want to bring in andy bush with Asset Management ceo scott martin. Labor conditions tight, the fed has a dual mandate, Monetary Policy and the employment picture. That doesnt seem like they can make the case for a raise right now. It is an interesting word to use. When you have millions that left the eligible labor force and unemployment rates have fallen to 4. 9 you can call that tight. I would look at average hourly earnings, last month 0. 1 in a year over year basis roughly 2. 5 which is close to a multimonth high but not that hot to me so you are right. Modestly it is the rule of the day which means the fed is off the table prior to the election but on it for december. Cheryl Economic Activity continues at a modest pace. We have some ism numbers that are weak but not the economy is firing at all cylinders but a little bit of a downward moment for the market. A little pressure for the market, potentially thinking and leaning towards the rate hike in september. The fed is confused, does not know what it is doing, sowing confusion in a speech they do, on the one hand they say labor Market Conditions are tight. On the other the economy is modest. This started back in august and continued on whether it is janet yellen or fisher, name the fed official. There are limits to Monetary Policy, and that is where we are, we are not going to get growth for monetary stimulus, this is a question where we get growth from. The fed cant help that and cant help earnings right now. That is why the market is confused and doesnt know where to go. Cheryl back to the jobs picture, still not convinced even though we see the market trade down, i say that because if you look at the august jobs report, 151,000 jobs added. If you go through all the revisions is 1000 jobs net loss. If you dont have jobs and dont have growth and an economy going anywhere, you have an election coming up, they are a game changer. I agree. If you look at employment in the last 6 months, you have a couple what i call stinker numbers too which to me supports what andy is saying, the economy is modest or moderate at best and the fed using those words does not suggest they will be raising rates anytime soon but that is what the market likes was we are down in Interest Rates in sensitive areas today but as long as the fed stays on the sidelines, s ps are not too big a risk if you are investing at home. Cheryl i disagree with the fed on what they see as activity out there. The oil bug has passed. If you look at what is happening with the saudis in the middle east, there wont be a freeze. We have heard discussions about an Oil Production freeze in the middle east but i dont buy it. This isnt about right now. We are at 50 a barrel. This is about lack of new major oil projects occurring. 201014 there were 45 to 50, 2016 there were 5 or 6 so far. This is about 2019 and oil prices will be higher if we dont see a rebound in new projects. That is one thing. The other thing, productivity. Look at the president ial candidates, which one has a plan to raise productivity, and doing a lot of analysis, is donald trump and in his tax reform plan, Hillary Clinton doesnt have anything like that so if you want to grow the economy and productivity, the gdp growth, you have to look to trump. A lot of people dont like that but the facts artifacts. Cheryl looking at his economic plan there you go. Donald trump made comments about the fed in regard to the us economy under president obama. We want you to take a listen. They keep rates artificially low. Obama can say he did a good job. They are keeping rates artificially low so obama can go out and play golf in january and say he did the job. Cheryl if you listen to donald trump, makes it sound like you wont get a rate hike in september. And not raise rates until after the election. It would be a tremendous risk if the fed hyped Interest Rates in chicago in a couple weeks, remember the fed chairman although maybe not being direct extension of the white house, is an appointed position by the president. There has to be a relationship or possible influence, that is controversial. I think janet yellen is saying lets keep things status quo, role into november, hope the economy does not fall off the table and with a new president coming in trump has talked about removing janet yellen, one of the first orders of business is a good move what she has done so far, that is what we did with the Interest Rate hike. Cheryl scott saying maybe the white house has a direct phone number to the fed. We know that the fed is concerned what is happening with equality and other issues. Where i am disappointed with the feds they are not like the European Central bank and mario draghi, they dont go in front of congress and say do something, act, reduce regulation, fix the tax situation for individuals, that is where we need to go. So thats one of the reasons they do that and obviously it is an audio port as well because you plug that in whether youre plugging it into your computer, external speakers sometimes, or even into your car frequently through the lightning port. So it does mak make sense basically came down to real estate anyway. They need to kick out that headphone jack to get the speaker in there. And also the rearview mirror. They changed the back of the camera, ashley. And the watch, they came out with the apple watch two. Reaction seems to be a bit mixed on social media about the watch. The second version anyway. Yeah. Its purely it is waterproof down to 50 meters. It has better gps, its clearly taking on fitbit, which quite frankly is much better for the runners out there. You would know this, cheryl. But this is a much better watch. But its going to cost you 369. But some interesting features on it as you say gps, the ability to scribble, which you can actually write on it.
