Clinton is good for the United States versus donald trump. I was invited by democratic party. Just like come support hillary, just a regular chain email or personal invitation . So, im a member, so as a member, i get the invitation, theres nothing particular about it. Trish you know, keep in mind, this is a man who actively supported the taliban, and now he is out there expressing his endorsement for Hillary Clinton. She personally has not denounced that endorsement, though here Campaign Spokesperson has. And let me tell when you reporters tried to ask Hillary Clinton about mateens appearance there, pretty unbelievable. Watch this. Trish i mean, she just completely ignores the reporter, though the reporter didnt exist. Wont even acknowledge the question. Later in the evening hillarys campaign issued a revised statement saying, quote, so again, i got to go back, how on earth did this guy end up at her rally . I mean, these things are very scripted. They are very produced and generally you make pretty darn sure whoever is seated behind you, if youre the candidate, is not going to make any funny faces or do anything that would embarrass you while the cameras are rolling. Trish generally someone from the community that is a supporter of that candidate will go out and solicit friends, people they know and trust to get up on stage to create a diverse picture, this, that and the other. But they are people that are vetted that would not do anything that would embarrass you. How did this guy wind up there . He was either invited or the advanced people in conjunction with the secret service did not scrutinize the people not only within the camera shot but within close proximity to the protectee. This reminds me, remember in south africa for the mandela funeral, when you had the interpreter, the bogus interpreter get so close to the president. That was a breakdown of advanced and secret service. Same thing here. This is unconscionable that this guy was wellknown not only in the community but certainly to our security services. He should have not been within close proximity of the protectee. He could have been in the crowd. It was a 3,000person crowd, to be selected and be that close is a gross error not only of the advanced team and of the staff but also, i believe of security. Trish you know, basil, someone in usa today wrote its almost as both candidates dont want to win because they keep doing things that derail the campaign. My goodness. Whats going on in the campaign that theyre not vetting people and theyre walking into the rallies . Brad makes an interesting analogy. I remember that mandela funeral with the sign language interpreter, and i thought my god, how did that happen . I was an advanced man early in my career, possible when a mass email goes out to party regulars, you know, people just come in. Unless youre going to be extraordinarily close to the principal, you may not get the same level of vetting and scrutiny, and someone probably said, hey,tart populating the backdrop. Trish with what, people that look different . You want diversity up there. Someone from the middle east up there . I dont know if its that specific. You may say populate the backdrop and you start pulling people who are in the general audience. I would not have recognized him. Trish sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Someone else may have. Trish what does this tell us about her support, brad, if shes this sloppy or allows staff to be this sloppy . We know shes sloppy, certainly sloppy with the emails, distanced from the press, went 300 days without a press conference. Trish so rude. But it has been addressed. Trish she could have acknowledged the report. Why is it she has to save it up and figure out what shes going to say, you know donald trump would have turned to that reporter, gosh, i dont know how the guy got in there. Donald trump is good at being unscripted and puts his foot in his mouth. Trish brad, what would have happened if the charleston terrorist dylann roofs father had wound up seated behind donald trump at one of his rallies . He would have been dogged by the media. There would have been a firestorm. But the fact that hillary clams up and the press takes it, and, you know, they take it, shes not accessible to them, she only talked to them when she wants to talk on her terms. Shame on them for not questioning her about it and demanding a response. The campaign issued a statement which means hillary issued a statement. No, its not the same. Come on. Big difference. Trish why cant she just come out . Why does she have to hide . The reporter asked a simple question. I dont think shes hiding. Trish do we have to roll the tape again, basil. Look at the reporter ask the question. She answers questions of the media. Trish once every 245 days. No, she doesnt answer questions from the media and should be out there saying i had no idea he was going to be there, i dont want his support. Reports of nearly 300 pages of emails not handed over to the government released by Judicial Watch show how Top Clinton Foundation officials tried and got access to the state department. In one email, take a look at this, the Clinton Foundation staffer, remember this is the clintons separate socalled charity arm and i say socalled because the majority of the revenue goes to overhead as opposed to charity. This staffer from the Foundation Emails huma abedin in the state department, hillarys aide, asking they find a spot for someone. Huma abedin was working simultaneously at the state department and the Clinton Foundation, in and of itself seems a darn glaring conflict. Are the emails evident of just how obvious and blatant the conflict was . Seems like Hillary Clinton was working at the state department and the Clinton Foundation at the same time as well. Set aside the legalities for a moment or whether she lied and what she lied about, you cant keep track of all of that. But this looks pretty bad. Its not necessarily a crime to be a sleazy politician, but that doesnt mean that involving yourself in your separate personal work and almost effectively being i wouldnt say extorting but pay to play, if you want something from the government, make a donation to the Clinton Foundation or pay a big speaking fee to bill clinton or Something Like that . This looks sketchy regardless what criminal law might apply. Trish ilya, historically, have we seen anything like this . It depends what level youre talking, from a secretary of state or cabinet official . Trish yeah, pay to play . It happens at different parts of government where you pedal influence in different ways but its certainly frowned upon, every time there is a scandal, watergate onwards, there is a law regarding it. I would argue what Hillary Clinton has done with email server and National Security risks is worse than this. In terms of law. But in a matter of simple truthtelling and public official going about duties while at the same time wearing the two hats . It doesnt buy confidence from the government. Trish i dont get it. If anyone was offended by anything that was said whether it was meant or not, whether it was misinterpreted or not, then obviously i regret that. Trish all right, basil and brad are back with me. I want your impression on this. In other words, what hillary said back in 2008, it seems to me to be almost a step further than what people are saying donald trump said, what do you think . It was, and i dont attribute any violence towards obama when hillary said that when she was running against him, nor do i attribute violence that donald trump was advocating with his statement. This is blown way out of proportion by a press now just looking to parse every word that donald trump says. There is certainly in my view, nothing intended with violence regarding arms against anybody, and certainly not anybody in particular with the remarks that trump said. The problem with donald trump is the problem that hillary said, inartful speech that is subject to attack, and the press is willing to attack donald trump on anything, and unfortunately he handed them trish that said, in both cases, whether its Hillary Clinton in 2008 or donald trump nowadays, when you Start Talking about potential assassinations, and by the way, she used the word assassination, i would argue that was much, much, much, much worse, but you have to be extraordinarily careful, do you not . You have to be careful. She wasnt talking about assassinations, she inartfully was pegging her campaign to a moment in time and using his death she was saying anything can happen, Bobby Kennedy was assassinated, maybe barack obama will be, thats how it sounded to the obama folks at the time. She was creating a benchmark in time and inartfully done and took a lot of heat for it at the time. The distinction is context with regard to donald trump. When i heard his comments, you know, my ears went up. Look, i was shot when i was 12 by a 14yearold. Most of the people i grew up with were shot and killed before they graduated from high school. When you talk about the 2nd amendment it makes me feel a certain way, and i know that some of his speech could be inartful but have to take it in context. There was a pattern when in his rallies he talks about punching people out, addressed when he talks about torture. When he talks about the 2nd amendment and people who support the 2nd amendment take matters into their own hands, i look at history and pattern of his speeches and to me it makes sense. Trish his supporters are saying, brad, there is nothing to this. Its an offhand comment. Is he talking about a constitutional amendment . What do you think he meant when he said the 2nd amendment folks can do something about it . Did he mean organize . He meant organize, go out. Activate, work against candidates, work against judges who are appointed to high positions on the federal bench. Thats what donald trump was talk about. It was clear to me this weaving of intent by democrats is false. Heres why, look at every one of Donald Trumps rallies, the tens of thousands of people who have come there. Hasnt been one act of violence or arrest that you can attribute to donald trump. It hasnt occurred yet there. Has been violence on the left who orchestrated violence on the streets against donald trump. That is not entirely true there have been acts of violence at his rallies, when you have people at the rallies yelling they were provoked by protesters not for people who want to hear donald trump exercise his free speech. Trish and the protestors have a right to be there as well. They have a right to be there but not interrupt donald trump. They dont have a right to be punched in the face either. The other point i would also make is when members of his rallies are yelling for hillary to be locked up, youre having people say theres nothing wrong with that. Listen, but heres my point. She should answer for the crimes shes committed when have you people chanting for someones liberties to be taken away from them and dont have the standard bearer of the National Party addressing it. Trish the email thing is a big, big, big deal in many peoples books and feel as though the administration deliberately let her off the hook, anybody else would have gotten in a lot of trouble. They also said its challenging for you, mrs. Smith, because Hillary Clinton was indemified effectively as secretary of state. How do you respond to the challenges . Trish look at asylumseekers, look at belgium and number of the bombers of the Brussels Airport in the train station on the horrible day, they are getting welfare by taxpayers, they were living off the belgian people to the tune of some cases with, two of them, more than 20,000 a year worth of welfare . Think of the other matter, the leader of the second paris attack who escaped after the attack. They all thought hed gone to syria or hiding in iraq. Where was he . In brussels for four months. In a blog post, bernanke argues the feds consistly miffed the economic forecasts. Thats a problem, theyre making investors wary and fed officials wary of describing the economy in what may push them to hike rates. Of course, i think theyve been doing this all along. They want to have their cake and eat it, too. They keep telling you were going to raise as long as the economic fundamentals are there, and then the economic fundamentals unfortunately are never there. They say they want to raise but cant. He goes on, bernanke to write, and i quote yeah, all right. Janet yellen keeps promising, bernanke warns former colleagues wont be raising rates any time soon. As if we thought they ever would. Ashley webster joins me now. I think its scary in many ways because these are unprecedented times, we have never lived through the fed being this aggressive and seeing no bang for your buck . How much money is spent and what have we got for it . Less than 2 gdp. Its disturbing. People make careers out of watching the fed and pulling apart every word in every sentence and find out that the fed doesnt know what its talking about and terrible at predicting things, so why are we fretting over every word they put out . They said there were going to be four Interest Rate hikes this year. They raised rates in december of 2015 for the first time in more than nine years, they said possibly four in 2016. How many have we had so far . None. They cant predict. They dont have a handle in the economy, steady, admittedly shruggish, the jobless rate is well below their intended target. They could go ahead and raise. The only thing thats interesting, i think, thats not raising rates is okay in this environment, only because Central Banks around the world are going nuts with qe and negative rates, almost the same as raising rates because the dollar has gotten stronger. Trish i agree, theyve got themselves backed into a corner, if you raise Interest Rates effectively you cause the u. S. Dollar to appreciate more than its appreciated given the rest of the Global Economic environment there by making it harder for us to export goods. Yes. Trish whats the future of this . If the fed cant raise rates, what on earth happens . Thats not going to work. Trish what happens when things really get rough . What if we start declining . You mean deflation, japanese situation, 20 years of stagnant. Trish we are already there. We are, we are, thats the danger. Whats the option the fed has . They can go down to zero, what difference is that going to make . Someone said forget all that, why dont you cut taxes and put more money in the pockets of people and stimulate the economy. I agree. Trish you have to have fiscal and Monetary Policy working hand in hand, we have not had that in eight years, until people are working with the fed, with fiscal policy thats meaningful like tax cuts, were nowhere. Her speech three days after donald trump outlined his new economic agenda, and well see what you get. Watch this. His tax plan will give super big tax breaks to large corporations and the really wealthy, just like him and the guys who wrote the speech. Trish shes got the attack line down. Does she have some ideas . Because thats what we need, right . Trump had some ideas, i know there was a lot of criticism about that plan, it had a lot of substance, he talked about tax cuts, tax cuts across the board for individuals and corporations because he wants to focus on growth. She will likely outline a plan of burdensome regulations and probably more free stuff, right . Just handouts . Its going to be battle between trumps growth plan and hillarys spending plan, a plan very similar to what weve seen in this lousy economy for the last eight years. Basil is back with me to defend it. In fairness, you heard me say my piece, and look, i feel like i learned this in econ101, if you want to actually free up the economy, one way to do that is by offering incentives in the way of tax cuts. Incentives like less regulation and then you get business going again. Basil, floor to you, what are we going to hear from Hillary Clinton . Similar to what she did in new york, Small Business, tax credits, apprenticeship programs. Trish Small Business tax credits.
