Hilly and obama and biden, all all of them, susan rice told me it was a video, they knew, they knew it was not the video and they said they would call me and let me know what the outcome was. Secretary clinton, did you lie to them . You know look, i feel, a great deal of sympathy for the families of the four brave americans that we lost at benghazi. And i certainly cant even imagine the grief that she has for losing her son but shes wrong, shes absolutely wrong. Trish Hillary Clinton said you were wrong. She lied. Trish were you . I was there and we were knows to knows at the coffin ceremony. She lied to me. She told me it was a fault of the video. I said, are you sure . And she says, yes, thats what it was, it was the video. She knew full well it wasnt at that time. Then she says, she was going to check and if its any different she would call me back. She would let me know. She has never once spoken to me or her office. The only thing i ever got out of them is that i am not a member of the immediate family and i dont need to know. Trish what do you mean youre not member of immediate family. Irhis mother . Thats what i said. They dont care. They go on with their lying little ways saying that im the one that is wrong. I heard that. I know what she said. I dont lie. She is a proven liar. And i kuhl her out for that. I know what i heard. Trish when you say you know what you heard, she actually came to you at the funeral and spoke to you and said that it was the video . She personally said this to you . She not only personally said this, this is the coffin ceremony. She came up to me. I talked to her. She put her arms around me. She told me it was the fault of the video. Then i went around the room talking to the other people asking them what was it . What is, what started this . Why is my son dead . And i talked to obama, who said it was the video. I talked to panetta, who said it was video. These are, i was just, i was knows to knows with them. They told me personally. Over my sons coffin. Trish did you believe at that time, that it was the video . Did you believe at that time it was video . I kept asking what it was because i didnt know what it was. I didnt know anything about a video. Trish uhhuh. Now when Hillary Clinton gets on stage and says that are wrong, how does that make you feel . Well, it doesnt surprise me, not at all, from the way she has been talking. She has never and her department will not speak to me. They still have not spoken to me. Not once has anybody ever contacted me other than to tell me, yeah, i was not a member of the immediate family and they dont have to tell me. Now im still waiting for her, i want hillary to talk to me personally and tell me why there was no security there when they were asked for it. I know this because i spoke to my son. Trish what did your son say to you . That day, he said he was really scared because he saw the 17 people, 17 november, whatever it was, they were Walking Around taking pictures. He was afraid. He said it didnt look very good. And he was afraid. He asked for security and he was turned down. Trish and this was on the day of the attacks . Yes. Trish you know, some people, mrs. Smith, believe that you have politicized this. You heard reaction of the crowd to jorge ramoss question. They started booing. They didnt really want him to go there but he did ask the question. There are those in the Democratic Party that feel that are doing this for political purposes. What would you say to them . What political purposes . All i wanted is for hillary to tell me what happened. Whats political about that . I think that as a mother i deserve to know. And as a woman, as she says, she always talks about a woman, i am a woman too. I think i deserve to know why my son is dead. What was the reasoning behind this . Cant anybody there, anybody, anybody from my government tell me, what happened . The only thing i know is the security guards that were there, that were shot and killed, theyre the ones that told me, everything that i, pretty much know. Because hillary wont. And it was her department. And i even asked her, this was your department, hillary. Why dont, why . She said, she wasnt told. Trish mrs. Smith, what about other family members, have they been contacted by Hillary Clinton to your knowledge, or the president . No. To my knowledge im completely out of the loop. I dont know who has been talked to or why or anything. I am not in touch with anybody about that. All i want to know is why my son is dead. Why . Trish who did contact you . How did you learn of what happened . At the night, some time during the night, i would think it was after midnight i got a telephone call saying your son is dead in benghazi. I didnt even know the he was in benghazi. Trish telephone call from who at the time . I dont know. Trish someone called you. I dont know. Trish that he had died . He was dead. Yes. Trish and then what happened . Then i bust outcrying a lot. I dont know what happened after that. They have not gotten back to me. I want them to tell me what happened. I want the government, not to call me a liar because that is incredible. I dont lie like that. She is a proven liar. That is neither here nor there. I want to know why my son was dead, when he asked for security, as i said. I spoke to him almost every day. Almost every day. If it wasnt speaking then it would be a little notation that came to me, a little email or something, but every day i talked to him. Why cant the government what was that . Trish he knew he was vulnerable, he knew security was not what it should be. Yes, exactly. Trish despite all of this, she went through the testimony that she gave before congress. They werent reallyable to find anything concrete in terms of the, you know, absolute lie. How does that make you feel, as you watched all of that testimony, as you watched her there being grilled by lawmakers and she says look, it is what it is and this is politically motivated . That is what she says. Now, prove it. Why is she saying that . Why is she calling me a liar when she knew, she knew what was happening there . Like i said, i didnt even know from a video. I didnt know anything about a video. And this is what they were telling me. And the whole government was there, from susan rice to pa obama put his arms around me, hugged me and said it was the video. Now can i believe trish video, do you remember, im sure everything is in some way as bit of a daze to you, when he said it was the video, how did he characterize that . I, thats all that they told me the video. Like i said i didnt know what video it was. I had to research it myself and find out about it. But, i still dont know what video. Ive never seen this video. I dont know anything about this. Trish they promised you, she promised you they would get back to you when they had more information. Oh absolutely. Absolutely. In fact i was begging them, please, please, i must know, i must know. They just wanted to quiet me down, oh, you poor thing you. All i want to know is the truth. For gods sake, let my government tell me the truth. Trish mrs. Smith, what could she do, should she do now . Come, i want to speak to her personally. And i want to be able to ask her what happened. And i wanted her to be able to tell me what happened. I dont believe she has got the guts to do that. At the time i emailed with my daughter a terrorist group had taken credit for the attacks on our facility in benghazi. Within 16, 18 hours they rescinded taking credit. They did it all on social media. And the video did play a role. We have captured one of the lead terrorists and he admits it was both a terrorist attack, and it was influenced by the video. This was fog war. This was complicated. Trish so why then did she tell the egyptian Prime Minister that it had nothing to do with the film, and im quoting from the records of the conversation here. She said, we know the attack in libya had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a protest. So which is it here . What she is telling mrs. Smith or what she is telling the egyptian Prime Minister or what she is telling the audience there at the debate last night . Is she deliberately trying to confuse people . Or is our Intelligence Community simply inept figuring out what happened . Or perhaps this is just another example of spin and an attempt to cover some tracks . Retired Lieutenant Colonel ralph peters, fox news military analyst joins me right now with his thoughts on this colonel peters, first of all, your reaction to what you heard from mrs. Smith, her emotional plea, from mrs. Clinton to let her know what really transpired that night . Mrs. Smith doesnt matter and her son doesnt matter at least not to Hillary Clinton. Theyre just Collateral Damage. In mrs. Clintons campaign of eternal self an grand diesment. Clinton concerned, Clinton Incorporated is full of lies. Let me get down some hard facts on this first of all, you know, that the whole thing about the video, that was a white house in panic mode seeking some explanation that they could sell to the public. Trish, there is not a single military professional anywhere whoever believed this was spontaneous attack because of a video. Clearly it was a planned operation, with multiple phases and very practical level. For example, the deadly mortar attacks on the cia compound, mortars are easy to use and very hard to use accurately. The site being placed and ranges calculated in advance. The evidence is overwhelmingly this was a planned attack. Im sure the generals in the pentagon would have been telling them that right away. So this is tissue of lies. Trish colonel, in other words they were trying to cover their tracks . Yes. Trish they knew there would be outrage because they had a opportunity to prevent this. They were unsuccessful because they didnt put in the necessary steps that they needed to take for security and thus they needed to blame something or someone else . Yeah. Trish, people forget the backstory. The pentagon offered, free of charge to the state department, they had offered troops to protect our diplomatic facilities in libya but the Hillary Clinton state department, very antimilitary, didnt want to militarize the situation in syria. Hillary clinton, and her pala indids put more trust in local militias in libya than they put in the United States marine corps or the u. S. Army. That tells you everything you need to know about where her values lie. Then you get to the emails. Trish i mean, well, it seems as, she may in defense of her, i will play devils advocate here, she may have a point, it obviously was very complicated, right . There were a lot of things going on, a lot of moving parts. It seems she did, colonel, Hillary Clinton that is, had sense there was something more than a video because of the email she sent to her daughter chelsea that night but there were a lot of moving parts could have contributed to it. Is it at all a worthwhile defense for her to pursue that line of argument . No, i dont think it is because shes been around a long time. She would have been getting military advice, advice from security personnel within the state department. I truly believe, and i am not partisan on this, im an american. I truly believe that the white house went into panic mode, grasped anything they could come up with. Somebody said hey, look at video that could have done it that could have been it. That was that. Its a lie from start to finish. Trish colonel how is that . Think about past administrations how unusual is it to try to blame something, to try to spin something . Well, certainly throughout history president ial administrations tried to put their spin on things but there is difference between spin, even heavyhanded spin and outright lying and consistent lying and trish doing so again last night . And again and again and again and again. Trish saying that is not true, im not wrong. She did actually say to me that it was the video. And its, trish, it is a situation where, again, mrs. Colonel, as we went to break, you were basically saying this is a woman who was effectively Hillary Clintons Collateral Damage . That the administration doesnt care enough about these families to contact them personally. Trish, you think a president who cant attend Nancy Reagans funeral will bother with mrs. Smith . This is really sad. You know, there is not a villain in the operatic repertoire clinton i am disgusted with this. You used right word. It is not the government stonewalling mrs. Smith. It is the administration. Trish we have sinced learned of administrations talking points, howie, they put together to try to deflect attention way way from them and their inability to diplomatic compound. They did look at the video to a way to basically turn the story around. That came back to bite them. Here is ben roads say, to underscore these protests are rooted in internet video not a broader failure or policy to reinforce the president S Administration strength. That is the goal what they were trying to do but it failed. Well, benghazi was just an unbelievable tragedy and when you hear mrs. Smith talk and brings it back powerfully on a human level that lives were lost and mistakes were made to use that famous phrase. Since were in the middle of a political campaign, i have to say while what happened in benghazi origin a lot of honesty and trustworthy problems Hillary Clinton was having long before people knew she had a private email server, for a lot of people in the public, there have been a lost hearings, investigations, Media Attention devoted to this and i think some of the public moved on regardless what they think. They feel like this issue has been litigated so i question how much impact it will have other than the erosion of trust when it comes to the fall. Trish at same time, howie, you know, in your when you hear a mother break down like that and beg to be spoken to, by Administration Officials because she desperately wants them to tell her, were sorry, or at least let her know what really happened, you can understand how that, at least, it resonates. Whether or not it goes much further than here in this show and what were talking about, it is impactful. Somebody from the administration should talk to her or other families or anybody that was involved in this horrible and tragic episode and to not do this i think sends a signal of heartlessness. Trish yeah. Sort of a we dont care. Colonel peters, how much is this going to affect her . Between the email scandal, between benghazi, she seems to still being doing okay given she is the frontrunner . This is the year of the true believer in both Political Parties and we see with the leading candidates in both parties, in both the leading candidates in the Democratic Party their followers are devoted, they are acolytes. They are immune to facts. They dont want to hear the truth. They dont want to hear mrs. Smith. It is alarming trish it is. Somebody who loves this country so dearly. And the reason is my kids were embarrassed by it, my wife didnt like it. Thats not who i am. Thats not what my campaign is about [cheers and applause] trish good. He should regret it. As i said at the time, this is going to backfire because, ill tell you, i dont think people believe that that is who marco rubio is or was. And when something doesnt ring true, whats the Ripple Effect of that . Well, the Ripple Effect is he didnt get a single delegate after he started doing it. It was a huge miscalculation, it was a huge misstep. Did he get a lot of media anticipation, a lot of air time . Absolutely. But it didnt translate to anything positive for him. In fact, it was an embarrassment. It was atrocious. The number of people were talking about we want our kids to be able to watch the debates, to participate in this process, and what ended up happening was just horrible. Trish yeah. You know, interestingly, however, donald trump gets away with a little more of this. Is that because, you know, people sort of expect it from him, and maybe, i mean, it kind of is who he is whereas marco rubio never projected that kind of image. So it didnt quite ring true when he went there. Lull. Authenticity absolutely. Authenticity is one of the number one things da that drives trust. Were in a different era about trust. You can be wrong you can be even, you know trish in some cases vulgar. And be real. One of the voters that i spoke with said of rubio, he said i do think its small of rubio to start in on a behavior that is not his normal behavior. He said this behavior that is normal characteristic of donald trump just doesnt work for marco rubio. And so what i think is people like it in trump. What they say about trump is that hes saying the things that i wanted to say. He is going to fight for me. He is real. But it just doesnt work for rubio. Rubio was supposed to be a different candidate. He was the candidate who represented optimism, the candidate of the next generation. He wasnt supposed to be the candidate talking about trish wet pants, ill say it. You know, when he went there, i just thought this, its so bad because you see him trying to stoop to a level that he wouldnt normally go to. And it, you know, look at him in florida right now. The polling data suggests that hes not even going to win his home state. I was looking through some of your notes, and one of the voters said when he talked about how donald trump was only 62, but he had small hands, it actually made marco rubio seem like the little guy. Yeah. And it was trish without donald trump even saying little marco. When hes saying little marco now, people arent thinking about his size, theyre thinking about his character. It was unbelievable to me that he was carrying states between 1520 before he started doing this. Over the weekend we started, hes down to 8, 9 . He has dropped like a lead balloon, and im glad last night he admitted this isnt who he is, he acknowledged it was a mistake, and i hope he comes out and starts being the candidate that he should be. More grated, thats what republican chairman Reince Priebus wants to see at tonights debate, the candidates facing off in florida. Kasich was the governor, hes got a lot of popularity, but donald trump is also resonating. Why . I think a lot of it is some of the things ive talked about before on this show. I mean, donald trump has the ear of folks that are reagan democrats, even some, you know, traditional republicans that are concerned about the economy and trade. Ive got to tell you, when i was driving through my neighborhood this morning, there were at least three donald trump signs in peoples yards. And i think that a says a lot. For John Kasich Trish and this is a deep blue part of the district. Thats right. Bigtime democrat, part of my district in northeastern ohio. Lots of donald trump signs in peoples yards. Trish interesting. Thats that crossover appeal weve been talking about. Thats right. And for john kasich, hes going to get the traditional republican vote. We have early voting in ohio. Theres been 118,000 requests made for early voting ballots in the state of ohio. Those guys go to john kasich. Donald trump, his key is going to be those people that show up late in the game that are independents and democrats that is crossing over that are crossing over and showing up in these deep blue areas. And weve already seen a thousand people cross over in mahoney county, ohio trish wow. So you think trumps going to beat kasich . Its going to be really, really tight. A lot of it is going to be down, again, to the early vote, and a lot of it down to how many people actually do cross over. But were already seeing it happen. Yeah. Trish, theres only two people that can win ohio, donald trump or john kasich. And if kasich doesnt win it, he gets out of the race. Its that simple. Trish ford, how soon until marco gets out, in your view . Theres no reason for marco to get out. Ive never seen the media so complicit in wringing about the demise bringing about the demise of a candidate. If he loses florida, he gets out. This whole talk of his political career being over is malarkey. The guy is 44 years old. He can go on and do a lot of things. If trump wins, rubios out. If rubio wins, we go to a contested convention. Trish i dont think rubios going to win. Well, hes the only one who can win. Trish looking at the poll data he might get out though. He might get out early for one reason and one reason only trish why . If he wants to run for governor in capris why would anybody want to lose their own home state . Trish hang on. All i was trying to say, and he knows florida better than i, certainly, but, you know, theres a little bit of a, you know, rumor on the street that marco rubio may run for governor in 2018. And if youre planning on running for governor, the last thing you want to do is lose your home state. Trish okay. Exactly. He may get out before then, and if he gets out before tuesday, what then happens, ford, in your view . How much is cruz able to pick up those or do they go to kasich . They dont go to either cruz or kasich. Trump wins outright. Thats the whole point. Theres a certain amount of early voting and absentee ballots. Theres just not enough votes for strategic voting to take place between cruz and kasich. Cruz owned up the opened up the offices to kneecap rubio trish so how soon does this end . How soon do we see the nominee from the Republican Party . Heres the question, does john kasich win ohio . If he wins ohio, were going to have a threeman race and not a twoman race. Thats right. But remember, on tuesday, heres the deal theres phi states out there five states, illinois, and north carolina. North carolina. Trump could take home 2300 delegates. At that point, hed be hard to stop. Trish thank you so much. Essentially, 30 of the votes needed to become the d nominee, they come from these superdelegate Party Insiders as opposed to the people. And these superdelegates . They can vote any way they want. They need not vote for sanders, even if the people vote for him. And the superdelegates can change their mind at the last minute. So much for a democratized system there, huh . [laughter] anyway, if the superdelegates, the establishment, if they vote for clinton and not for sanders despite a popular vote for sanders ors then the democrats are going to be in the exact same spot as the republicans may soon find themselves in. And those sanders supporters will not be incentivized to vote in a general election because they will feel betrayed by their party too. The establishment on both sides of the aisle. The establishments trying to control america. And the people have had enough. Both parties would be very wise to remember that. Thats my intel. So is his momentum going to be enough to bring in even more wins next tuesday when voters head to the polls in four very important states . Ford and capris are back with me. So in other words, if they had read the rules, whats the point in running anyway . Yes. Ron paul figured this out on the republican side and was stealing delegates left and right when he had zero money. Trust me, the supporters have no idea about the rules. Let me say this, what happened in michigan was historic for Bernie Sanders. Nate silver put hillarys chances at 99 , and she was leading by 20 in the polls. This portends general election problems. Shes weak with africanamericans, believe it or not. The support wasnt as strong in michigan, and she lost whites and men shes got blue collar blue collar is what i mean. Major blue collar problems because they dont like her stance on trade, and obviously, she couldnt use bill clinton since he actually signed nafta. Trish okay. Shes got problems, she doesnt have the enthusiasm because people like capri that would normally be campaigning hard for her just dont feel it. Bernie sanders probably isnt going to be able to win this thing given the superdelegate system i just interrupt about superdelegates . Trish yeah. I have been on record saying that the superdelegate system is definitely a rigged one and definitely would traditionally skew for Hillary Clinton because theyre, quote, Establishment Party people. However, because Bernie Sanders is consistently Building Momentum and actually winning states and the fact that democrats unlike republicans are all proportionate for delegates the entire way through, i think hes going to sick it out at least stick it out at least through california, he has a chance to convince superdelegates to go his way. And that may be the next trish yeah. But, capri, hes a socialist. I mean, the elephant in the room is the guy is a socialist. [laughter] im just making the argument. Trish i know, i hear you. Ill still say that what has made this country great is our capitalist system, and we need that. Democracy and capitalism go hand in hand. We want to incentivize everyone, and we want people to be able to take care of themselves. But enough. What is going to happen when we get to this general election . If we can make the case that Hillary Clinton is the nominee and theres not enough excitement there, and if you can make the case that donald trump who, capri, is resonating with these blue collar democrats is the nominee on the other side, will it be a tighter race than some, well, some republicans and democrats believe it will be . I think so. For sure. [laughter] trush, trish, ive been bullish on trump since august on your show, and im going to say if he, indeed, becomes the nominee because i dont think going to a contested convention is a good idea, i think hes far more electable than people realize.
