Out and a republican picks that up for a net gain of one. Youre going to be seeing on the lowerr right portion of your screen as we look at shellys victory what is the break down of the guaranteed races we know. We are literally doing this in a way backwards so you can see the race to 51. Remember republicans will need 51 because the tiebreaker in this senate goes to joe biden s president of the senate if ts a 50 50 senate. He will be the tiebreaker so republicans would need that extra seat. Growing indications tonight just might be the night they get it. For my money, the big shocker of the evening is the still hard too call race in the state of virginia. Thats right. Virginia. Because dont look now, but an established incumbent who led by as much as ten points, a little more than two days ago, 20 points two months ago, well, senator mark warner the incumbent is in the fight of his life against ed gillespie, the former chair of the national committee. Nowhere on anyones charts was this even supposed to be a race. But it might be telling us something early on of the strength of republicans and maybe the antipathy of americans toward the party in power, the democrats, that they are doing this. So just imagine that. If we could have even a close race in virginia, what had been a double digital gain for democrats, now im back to that notion, it could be a very, very long night for the party of barack obama many of whom were ushered in the era that brought him into the presidency six years ago. That was this then. This is a very different environment right now. Throughout the night, we will be following this very, very closely. The senate is obviously the most important break down here. Rand paul right now in louisville, kentucky, commemorating the fact his fellow senator, Mitch Mcconnell has picked up an easy win when all was said and done. It was not expected to be easy. Rand paul was very important to rallying the conservative troops around mitch. Rand paul, of course, might be seizing on tonights developments to make a run for Higher Office of his own. Way too early for that. Mitch mcconnell is poised to be the next majority leader of the senate. Heres another race that could be telling. And a bit jarring. The numbers are all over the map. Theseeare coming fromm urban areas, but scott brown is making a race of it. Add the fact hes making a race of it and that we already have something very dramatic gging on in virginia and you have a surprising 12 punch to democrats that could tell a very interesting story tonight. . our own rich edson has been following particularly whats going on in virginia. Beers are watching. This was not supposed to be, rich, among the contests we were looking at. Neil, we had a discussion on virginia, other than it had a democratic incumbent. When you look at whats going on in virginia, this is a state in statewide elections as gone consistently for democrats. Even president barack obama what were having here and this is according to sources what im talking with campaigns involving republicans getting elec been very light in virginia particularly in northern virginia. The way virginia works the northern part of that sttte right by washington, dc, thats where you have a very heavy amount of democrat voting. Theres other areas, but virginia is mostly a republican state. The light turnnout up north that might get them to have this. Of course, mark warner up about ten Percentage Points in the latest polling. Neil we will go to some races we feel relatively safe calling. This was not a surprise. This was kind of expected. Thad cochran winning and maintaining a obgyn seat in mississippi. We continue to break hings downn the lower portion of your screen the balance of power were showing you right now in the senate. I know that might confuse you. Were talking about the known races. Those known democrats and known republicans and adding todays victories and or losses to them. By that math in tennessee, Lamar Alexander maintains what had already bben a republican seat. Jeff sessioos who was essentially running unopposed in alabama no big shocker he maintained that. Jim, there was some doubt for a while when there was a backandforth on this, it looks like that will be a protected seat as well. Focusing on oklahoma as well, so, again, these races are kind of falling in line with what we expected. The pick up of the evening in West Virginia, Jay Rockefellers seat gone to the republican hand. In new jersey, cory booker one of the democrats having a big night. Mike lee joining us out of the fine state of utah. Wasnt it long ago when tea partyiers were all the rage. The message of republicans and the antidemocratic attitude that you keet alive and bubbling i guess still alive and bubbling. What do you think of what youre seeing . I think what were seeing the failure of president obamas failed message and failed platform to deliver to the American People what they most desire which is an upward mobility society. The opportunity for the poor to get out of poverty. For the middle class to get ahead. He has failed the american peoppe. Theyre rejecting the president s message. Republicans have offer. Ing different to they have new innovative ideas on policies important to the americans. On issues that will help americans get ahead. Neil you might have a message that americans are receptive. Do you think they just hate the other guys more . That could well be, but theres a reason for that. Its not just that they hate the other guys. They also recognize weve got new innovative solutions, solutions that will help americans get a more affordable higher eddcation, americans to Access Health care more affordably and effectively. Help americans secure a tax code that doesnt punish working parents and married people. These are things that are peeling to americans all around the country. Were seeing a shift in this election. Neil senator, mitch won in a walk tonight. It wasnt even close. Your colleague and friend rand paul was very influential in helping make that happen. When republicans recon veen and maybe possibly in the majority, would you vote for him to be your leader. That is what i anticipate doing. And thats what i anticipate happening. And i know of no reason to suggest that that wont happen. Neil you dont know any conservative challengers or rebels who might go ahead and challenge him . I do not. And im pretty sure i would be aware of it if there were. Neil thank you very much. Joined right now by my colleague and friend Maria Bartiromo. Maria, i know its early, but as virginia goes West Virginia tips. The ladder was expected. This could be a long night. It looks like a big win. And this is what we were expecting. You know,i think at one point i was thinking a moment ago, its interesting to look at the Unemployment Rates in these hotly states. Virginia five and a half percent. Georgia seven and a half 9 percent. North carolina 6. 7 percent. We know these numbers are underestimating the story even though theyre still higher than the national unemployment. People arent feeling good about their own local situation. Neil youve reported on your show the numbers have been steadily improving, a lot of americans dont feel it and are taking it out on the democrats because of it. Its also the fact that at this moment in time at this point in the cycle, we should be farther along. You have to question whether the policies of this administration have actually slowed down the pace of hiring and made Companies Reluctant and more willing to sit on cash, which, of course, as you know, has been the case. When, in fact, that money could have gone into infrastructure, certainly have gone toward efforts to capitalize on the Amazing Energy situation in the United States. And, in fact, gasoline prices are low despite all efforts from this this administration and the left to actually slow down fracking. Neil maybe theyre low because of the slow down. Thats certainly part of it. Neil do you feel if this president is potentiallyyfacing the opposite situation he had going in when he had the other two branches of government in his party. Now, he could be looking at the last two years of those branches in the other party. Hes got to bend. Maybe you can argue theyve got to bend. Something has to move. What do you think . This president has had an enormous opportunity to have all the government on his side for the first two years of his presidency. Neil yeah. And yet it was squandered because instead of focusing on job creating policies on things to capitalizing on the low hanging fruit like the energy story, they focused all of their energize on the health care legislation. Instead of focusing coming out of the 2008 crisis where the Financial Services sector was truly endemii of what was going on in the Global Economy, thats when we needed job creation we didnt get that. We were focus odd health care. The administration was focus odd health care. Its coming back to roost. We see the unemployment number at 5. 9 percent actually should be a lot lower at this point in the cycle. Neil by the way, youre looking in kentucky, were waiting for Mitch Mcconnell, he will be spelling out what he plans to do what republicans plan to do when i last talked to him a week ago, he was confident this night was coming. He did not take anything for granted. At the time we were chatting, he was up by just two points. We were also focusing on that race in virginia, that could be a sign of a development that all of a sudden what looked like a pick up of a few seats could be a watershed event. The balance of power how its breaking down. We might see democrats breaking down. Whats going on, peeer . We want to keep track of all 36 senate races tonight. We want to talk about the balance of power in the senate and, of course, the magic number here tonight is to get to 51. Currently republicans going into tonight have 45 seats and then democrats have 55 seats. But we want to go back and kind of pull out the 36 races that are up for grabs toniggt and at this hour with the races that we have called here at fox, fox news and fox business, republicans are currently at 40 seats and democrats are at 37. Again, the magic number is 55. If we want to take a quick look at some of the races that well be watching that the polls close at the end of this hour. Well be looking at next hour. Colorado. Incumbent mark udallal is trying to get a second term, but has been facing a strong challenge from congressman cory gardner going into tonight. The polls showed gardner slightly ahead. In louisiana weve been talking about that. It looks like that one could be headed to a runoff because there are nine candidates in that race tonight and only the top two will go into the runoff if no candidate gets 50 percent. And with nine in the race, it looks pretty tough for the incumbent, Mary Landrieu or the republican challenger, bill caasidy to get above 50 percent. o were looking at potentially a runoff in louisiana by december 6th. Finally we also want to look at one other race tonight, which is kansas, where current incumbent pat roberts iss fighting for a fourth term, but has a strong has had a strong fight from independent greg orman. A private equity manager going into tonight. Roberts had been closing the gap with orman. Thats a tight race were watching and another one well hear more of when the polls close in kansas. And also louisiana. And others other states at the top of the hour. Neil. Neil and you mentioned greg orman. His situation may have been complicated. If orman won he would be caucusing and voting with the democrats. Orman and his campaign immediately put out a press release saying we didnt even talk to joe biden. Orman said prior he would vote should he win with whoever was in the majority. Then he said he will sort of hedge his bets. Maybe hell try to play a kingmaker. That might not even be necessary. Before we go to break here. The argument is that if the senate and house are in one partys control and the white house is another control ideally an environment like this the democrat has the white house, the markets love that. Well, innthe past after the midterms actually if you look back in history, markets have done well. Youre right. If you have a situation where theres a true balance, the markets like that. At the end of the day we get transparency. We know what the g. O. P. Is bringing to he floor and what the president may or may not veto. We have transparency in terms of who is pushing what forward. We have not had that with harry reid in charge. We will know a lot more in terms of what the priorities are from a policy standpoint of the g. O. P. At a minimum we also see some pushback on the Regulatory Environment because the Regulatory Environment has certainly choked business and forced business to sit on cash. Neil yeah, they want to see something. Mitch mcconnells headquarters in louisville kentucky right noww just a reminder if we are seeing Something Big going on here youre not imagining this has got gotten almost routine the white house has changed hands. Whatever cockiness republicans might be feeling early on, i would probably urge some restraint and some modesty because it was two years ago, you guys were the ones humbled early on this night, its the democrats. Paul ryan neil if you buy the notion that is the night for throwing bums out. There are more of them as the bum than the republicans. Not entirely. In the keystone state of pennsylvania, tom the incumbent governor is out. That would be the first time we would see an incumbent governor knocked out of office in better than a century. The corbin thing might have been complicated by the handling of joe, the pen state debacle, i dont believe that was exclusive Economic Issues in pennsylvania. Neverthhless he is gone. And that is a reminder to any and all who need it. If you are in charge and your residents and voters are unhappy, you will suffer for it. It is still very, very early on in the evening, but i can tell youuat this point republicans have picked up one Additional Senate seat. They will need six. Many of you have been emailed me that youre confused by the graphic on the lower right of the screen. Were taking a clean look at the known seats we have and treating everything today as brandnew. When someone dgesz comes in on the left or right and wins, we add that to it. This is essentially a race to 51. Remember republicans need 51 seats. Not just 50 because in the event of a tie, joe biden will play that role. So right now, they need 51 and right now given their heady performances in some of these battles including virginia which no one expected it could be an indication of things to come that we might not have to wait for recounts or Runoff Elections or any of that stuff, the big fear going into all this. Sandra has been keeping an eye on sooe of these races. It would appear to marias point, its the economy, stupid. A lot of it is. Thats for sure. Youre looking at a heat map showing the economic environment in the states according to the Unemployment Rates to be certain in the red. The darker red states obviously indicating higher levels of unemployment. Georgia the highest level of unemployment in the country. If youre actually to look at closings coming up at 8 30 well be looking for the closing in arkansas, of the hotly contested races arkansas is posting n Unemployment Rate higher than the National Average. 6. 2 percent. So all the polling has shown this is a major concern for voters in the state of arkansas. And were already getting some early indications that voter turnout particularly in little rock, Pulaski County. High levels of democrat turn out. Something to note as we wait for the polls to close. When you do look who is running in the state, mark pryor, of course, he and his family have a rich history of politics in the state. Going up against the youngster, tom cotton the republican representative there. ery hotly contested battle happening there. And obamaccre playing a key factor as mark pryor the incumbent did vote for obamacare and tom cotton used that to his advantage. Most recently hes run three tellvision adds, antiobamacare Television Ads most reccntly in exposing mark pryors vote for obamacare. And mark pryor himself has, of course, spent a lottof his time distancing himself from president obama. This is a race we will be watching. Again, just moments from now. The polls in arkansas will be closing at 8 30 p. M. Eastern time. Neil pryor up to this had bill but apparently, at thisn. Point its and, again, that voter turnout, interestinn, theres early reports coming out, of course, the democrats pushing for that early voting. Early reports indicating that voter turnout in Pulaski County is up 50 percent from where it was at this time in 2010. Something to note as we watch this race. Neil were looking at rhode island. Jack reed rea hangs on. Some disproportionate numbers that seems out of what can from what whack of e said. Rhode island ould be the province cranston area might be skewing this. We factor all that in. Thats why some of you have, gee, 12 people calling the state. Y of course, she was the labor of the secretary of fine United States under president bush. Her husband, of course, Mitch Mcconnell and she will play and played aa very vital role innthis campaign in helping her husband not only connect with women, but to stamp out what has been a conservative revolt within the Kentucky Republican community. Very early on, but shes going to play an important role. You think about it, Mitch Mcconnell potentially the majority leader becomes a kingmaker. Its extraordinary because she has the goods to talk about the labor market. Shes got the credibility to talk about the economy. She is a fantastic booster for her husband and obviously neil the dynamic on the stump. I think one of the longest serving labor secretaries. She served for eight years. Theyre usually interrupted. This early go around, it is a good night for republicans, but not acrosstheboard as the governor of pennsylvania just fouud out, if youe the guy in charge and people in your state or your district are not happy, youre going to suffer and so you have to think be kansas governor. Is he feeling the heat as well . The same thing hit a pennsylvania governor hit him . There are other issues besides the economy of pennsylvania. Obviously, the penn state issue, but nevertheless the first time in more than a century, a governor was not returned to office in pennsylvania. Thrown out by voters there. That they say, is there version of dont let the screen door hit you on the way out. Much more after this. receptionisgundern gro. Nderman group is growing getting in a groov growth is gratifying. Neil well just think if you are Mitch Mcconnell and you have lead republicans what seems like forever, but never at a majority capacity, you are salivating at some of the races coming in thinking you have a very good shot of making that dream come true, then what do you do . In louisville, kentucky, Mitch Mcconnell, a career that could eclipse itself, he indicated, last week, he wants to go ahead, and focus on what he can get rid of at this time in the health care law. He would jettison up popular items, lets go to jolene on what brought this event before we hear from the senator. Latest exit polls, telling us what voters are thinking and feeling, North Carolina. Senate race with kay hagan, and tothom tillis is too close to call, 43 say most important issue facing the nation is the economy, second is 30 , saying it is healthcare, with Foreign Policy and immigration tied in third. We also asked do you think that kay hagan agrees with president obama too much on the issue . Too said 52 said too often, 37 said just about right, and 6 not enough. Look at virginia for you. Polls have closed there erase is close, independence there, major reason why the race s so darn close. 47 say they are going for gillespie, and 48 for warner, 5 going for sarvis, and president obamas performance in white house, what do voters in virginia think . 56 disapprrve, and 42 approve. Amazing. He is on the ballot today. Didnt he know it, me made the president , his opponents in every campaign, ad and with a ground operation, likes of which we have not seen in recent momentty, mismism Mitch Mcconnell. No more campaign commercials. Tv executives may not like it but enough is enough, right . A little while ago i spoke with my opponent, secretary grahams ran a spirits campaign, she earned my respect. It took a lot of guts to take on a race like this because of the, were in, it meant, she would take some heat. I admire her willingness to step into the arena and figgt as hard as she dwe need more people who are willing to do that, not fewer, she deserves a lot of credit for it, it was a hard fought contest. [applause] i have been so proud, so proud to have my wife beside me every step of the way. You know, you know, elaine told me, early on, she was not ready to have me sitting, round the house working on my resume, she has gone above and beyond to prevent that. She has been the most valuable player on our team, and i am so blessed to have her in my life, and by my side. [applause] and to my Campaign Manager josh holmes [applause] my friend, he pitched a perfect game. Thank you, josh. Neil a comic like to dispearage him, they have done analogies and comparisons, but Mitch Mcconnell is virtually on his way to being the next majority leader of u. S u. S. Senate, he is building company, tomcaton has just cotton has defeated mark pryor in arkansas, a huge take down today, representing what weve seen this night, big republican victories in what were expected to be easy democratic seats, this means net gain of two now in senate on behalf of republicans, that also means that they are ever so close now to calling the senate theirs, they need additional 4 seats, to pick up and they are close in a couple, not there yet. West virginia started it. But break down as it is right now, were only going backwards on races up for grabs then counting north, front republican, 49 democrats, going into today, he had a margin of 5545, that is 55 democrats, two independence really. 45 republicans. They will need 6 seats to take it they are getting close, Maria Bartiromo, when you think of that, and what this means with the responsibility that comes with the big night like this, is doing something with it. Maria you are right, i think now. The conversation turns to what are policy priorities from g. Oop. , what will we see come to the floor in coming two years, you have to believe they are more job creating policies that means, a real capitalizing on the energy story in u. S. , shale revolution, and you have to believe it is a complete new look at Regulatory Environment. Neil is the president going to change . They are changing, house gets more members. Members. Maria i think you make the right point, but will the president look at next two years, say this is important for my legacy, i want to show that i got things done or as he checked out . Aad will president say, look, it is a quid pro quo, i will give you this, but i want this in return, and no, i down to go here, so i will veto, he does have that veto pen. Neil he might say, i am already consequential, i dont have any problem citeing my historic bona fide. Maria at least if you do see majority, taken by tkpwo l g. O. T will not get much worse, they will stop anything that kills3 jobs or not job creating. Neil tim is joining me former governor of minnesota. You follow this closely. And what it will mean to Financial Services industry, they aae salivating at prospect of Republican Senate, but, that old line, be careful what you wish for you might get it tonight people will expects a lot of this Republican Senate, were they . They are, they should. People people to walk the walk not just talk the talk, one thing they dont like about politicians and lack of accountability time for republicans with full control of congress to stand and deliver, they should do it with a pro growth, pro jobs agenda, keystone should bb part of this. And energy and shale revolution, and pro growth tax reform, and repealing and fixing obamacare to fullest extent possible. And more, i think that people should expect they will move legislation, and get some stuff done. Done. Neil you know hope springs eternal but this president is not seeing eyetoeye with republicans. I can got imagine him just allowing for repeal of healthcare law, that is not happening so maybe they fix the stiff people dont like, like medical device tax, and et cetera. But what about big financial reform . You have been leading that about simplifying Corporate Tax, and making it more competitive. Make a stan yo stand out in world, that is something that i hhar administration espouseing and republicans talking about it both parties are kind of on the same page, but different percentages but they are close. Much closer on this than other issues. It will take a president who is willing to engage, and lead and to compromise, i was a governor of a state, with a fully Democratic Legislature we found things to get done by focusing on doable, art of the possible, and which time comes to cut a eal, you have to be willing to settle for a half to 2 3 of a loaf. President has said he is interested in a tax reform, it seems that reasonable people could get in a room, they could move the ball down the field, he also said, he is open to possibly looking at medical device tax, at least Many Democrats have. Unless he just wants to sit in white house and pout, i dont think he does. You want your legacy to be a leader. I think he will look for some ways to get someethings done, as maria said, he may want trade offs, say, what can you do for me with infrastructure, and highways and roads ans and brin. Neil i think that dilemma for him is different than with bill clinton, republican takeover house. This president does not have another election to worry about, i dont know if he will be as overreaching. True, tonight was a referendum on his policies and his leadership, no getting around that. And republicans recruited a better crop of candidates than in past election cycles, they advantage in many states for republicans that home field is neutral kwraol maybe positive. By the way you said, your bona fide are historic, i agree with that. They are. Neil that is enough out of you, thank you very much, by the way, speaking of governors, rich edson in a second we are learning that Charlie Crist, in florida, he is calling for polling place, in palm beach area to stay open longer, there have been long lines and some stphaf yous, florida, hello. Shock. But anyway, we dont know whether this is start of a legal brouhaha but, here we go again, it is tight at a tick there, that race, it was expected to be going into this. Rick scott prevailing over what has been an improving economy but in the eyes of many in florida not enough, these two candidates were held in low of regard of any candidate pairings, across country for some reasons, voters in state hated both equally, i dont know if that is encourageing but is the state of florida, rich edson have you been monitoring these races. Florida, you said, rick scott, was up slightly in some polls, but look at what is going on today, crist republican turned into independent turned democrat, president obama went on air for him todayn that state, getting polls. Too close to call with returns coming in. Looking at connecticut, a state polls close 8 p. M. , still, only 2 in dan malloy, and tom foley investor 42 , a seat republicans may be playing in. Foley brooght polls tighter into the race, were early in this one. Were looking forward to, two polls two states, closing shorty at 9 p. M. , wisconsin, scott walker survivored that recall shot by 7 rage points lasrage p, he was in a tight race last time, and he is up by 2 right now, and new york cuomo well enough in polls about 23 . And were so focused on senate but so much going on in the states, these races are important. Neil and cuomo needs to rack up a huge victory. A quick correction with Charlie Crist, it was not in palm beach it was in broward county, and judges denied that. Whatever he was complaining bthe judge said, quit your whining, polls are what they are, that is it. Well see. Bond nardelli is joining us right now former home depot ceo, former chrysler ceo, what a resume, aad maria in the mix here. As a business guy. Is this more akin to the environment you hope we can get some of businesses interests addresses . I think it is starting off to be a great day for america. And that is not a partisan statement. That is a lets get things done statement. I think that shareholders of this country are voting, in favor of reducing this bottleneck or whatever problem, this excuse of always between senate and house. So no longer will we kick the can down the road, well kick the can to the executive branch. And as you said earlier, i think were going to focus more on getting this economy going, getting the gdp up, working on reform and tax, and energy independents, all thin we have been trying to push through, to reestablish this nation, and rightful place as leader. You knnw among nations, a country and a leader among nations, i excited about early returns so far, i think that mitch and elaine will be great, i had a chance tt work with her while i was at home depot on jobs, she was fabulous, s you said to work with, always available and heavily engaged. for, reduceing i know from ans Small Business stand point with this medical tax, companies out there that went upside down with this tax, they were on the frencfringe anyway, a llt of the debates have been outb outsourcing, when i ran a outsourcing strategy but i had a global ompetitive strategy, i think we need to talk about is, what does it take to be globally competitive, thank god we got ceos that aae digging deep, and delivering earnings through this trough we were in. You know if we cant get tax reform they will find a way to return shareholder value, we ought to applaud those ceos, and private equity. Neil this president has vilifyed that for whatever reason, i wonder when i say, that whether a president will be more you know willing to hear their point of view, whether it is republican majority or not, you have president , stopping them . Maria you know, i wonder if were going to see a new unleashing of cash when we see, if we see what were expecting that is g. O. P. Taking senate. Because, i feel like in some regard, businesses have been fasting, they have been sitting on the cash, ceo, and Business Manager after Business Manager that i speak with say the same thing, often times president calls ceos to white house they do a photo op, they give him ideas, that help happened with healthcare ceos, then nothing gets didnt he does not listen. Neil dont see that money going anywhere right now. I have been there at the potted plant. Maria that is what im saying. Neil does this change that . You said earlier, this is a president that will be concerned about his legacy, now he no longer can have harry reid at the stoper. Now it will go to president s desk, i dont think he will be in a position to veto some of these things that are so important in our core. Neil quickly, move soon. He has to, you think about number of jobs tpwrao,000s 42,0, Keystone Pipeline has been around. Neil what about Corporate Tax reform. He has to, because, ceos will find a way to return value to their shareholders, so it is not about politics but it is about policy, we liberal . Let president do thht. Maria you know, in terms of keystone, you are right he has to, tax reform i think will be more difficull, because, you know he is going to want a quid pro quo, ifly is going you to know cut out double taxing getting money from overseas to come here, he is going to want Something Else, i think that will be tougher, the tax reform. But what is different this time, understand the issues, gasoline prices, best part of the economic story right now are 4 year lows were seeing in gasoline, you know who owns that story the right, the republicans they have dropped despite the fact that we have seen left stop every opportunity for fracking, you know delay ke stone and et cetera keystone and et cetera. Hats off to entrepreneurs who figured out how to do horizontal drilling to open what were doe dormant wells. Neil i hate to bursts your bubble it could do more with a pronounceed slowdown. It could have more to do with the economy jjst stumbleing away. Maria i think this is part of that but people understand there is enough oil in the world, because United States will be an emergency exporter. Again. Neil i want to look at New Hampshire. This is race, scott brown is trying to topple, and wha shahe. Note looking good. He knew it was an out field battle. He would like to be first to serve senate for two different states, i think in 1874, you were there . 1874 . Neil it is not looking that way, just to give you where we are, two net republican gains, they need 6, some of these states they hope to get, they night not get, some states they are getting, right nowt they republicans are inching closer to that. Thattmmght not call for a run off election but till early we have more to go and much more red bull to drink, stick around, much more after this. Neil well senate race still to close to call in New Hampshire. But the gubernatorial battle is not, hasan looks to be taking it another term. That was a nasty battle back and 40, in you understand a comfortable win for maggie hassan. Right now, shaheen is trailing against governor senator shaheen i should say, were hearing, that race that president obama called for bipartisan meeting of full congressional leadership teams, at white house on friday. That is not necessarily preview whether it will be new republican majority team, in senate. He just called for both Party Leadership times to meet at white house o throo friday, atthispoint most are beginning to think that will include republican leader controlling u. S. Senate, ustin goolsbee is joining me right now. What do you think what is is happening here, whether this a reflect or anger over your old boss. Probably some of that, true when you are way deep in administration, year 6, the incumbant party loses a lot of seats. You know they they being the voters, in a bit of a sour mood on incume bans overall, you have seen people, you thought they would have a comfortable road, has been squeezeed tightly, true on both parties it has been a while since the mood of the eelectorate has been thi this is our. Neil actually is has not. Great anger toward republicans two years ago, not enough to carry them in a year that looked like they could win, before, that democrats seizeing on a weakness in g. O. P. But, this is 4thhtime. This decade. You are right, you are right. What is going on . What is happening . I dont know, you know each year the biggest flood in 100 years, each time it gets bigger than the last. Were still coming to terms with the what happened in the downturn, and why have we not had a faster recovery, yes, it is better than 2 years ago and 4 years ago but not back to gangbusters, people can feel that. Neil thinking about it, Maria Bartiromo here, it is the numbers are the numbers have improved. But, you know, Americans Still by and large feel down for the count. Maria you know because they are looking at their own local situation, and wages are down, Household Income is up because you have a double income family, when you measure it that way. But i would want to know from ofaustan, you know president we, you worked with him for so many years, if we see g. O. P. Take senate do you believe that president would work with republicans, or say, look, im not doing anything unless it is a quid pro quo, i may look at tax reform but only if i get this . Well, i dont know totally, quo sounded like a negotiation to me, if we got there, i think it would be a advantage, i think there is a division between democrats and the white house, two schools of thought, one school of thought said, if republicans take senate, that they will feel they need to show they are grown ups and they want to do something, there would be more chance o chance of for a c, and another school of thought, i am in that school, if republicans win the republicans will say, we just won this election, now you make concessions to us. You and i you know from history, that whatever victory is short lived, and wears fast. I guess i am wondering if republicans make overages to him, they could argue we got past harry ride, and were getting him to sign it, he keeps vetoing it, are they then putting the onus on the president. I guess, if republicans centrist republicans say, lets go ahead and try to do something, whether on trader on immigration or on Corporate Tax reform, lets try to find a way to do it i bet that president would do along. If they tried to design it though in a way that will be the most embarrassing to the president , if they want to design a keystone bill, so that the president will have to veto it, they could do that too. And actually my experience from 2010 makes me think they might be more tempted to design it so president will veto it. Neil you are very jadeed. You are negative, i am glad you left washington, you have not gotten over that corrupt viee. So am i. Neil all right. Thank you very much. They have been punching each other, i think it just, the body language, and visceral reaction, they are not big fans of each other. Maria it has never een this bad. You know, there was a time in washington they did their work, then went out for you know dinner or had a beer or whatever, it is not that way, and has not been in years, i wond for that list austan gave us, he believes can get done, he dii not say e excel or tax refo, which is the two weve been talking abouing about e said td immigration. Neil shea need t they need to t and have an italian meal or something, we know a couple of restaurant here, grow up. Maria the best. Neil more after this, more races to call, we can tell you that way it looking for republicans now, they are en rouue, and possibly ekeing control of u. S. Senate now, it is not going to be a walk in. Maria bartiromo, thank you. Very much, yyu have been here since 4 00 a. M. , like jerry lewis at the end of the telethon but we carry on here, fox business speciaa coverage of a big, historic night continues right after this. Wanthard it n be. To breathe wi copd . Another innovation from cvs health. Because heal is everytng. Neil all right, welcome back were on srerblg o verge of seeg materially another potentially another republican pick up for United States. Some are calling states that were not nene to call here, we can tell you that republicans have picked up two seats in u. S. Senate, they need six to get control of that body, Mitch Mcconnell won in his battle in kentucky with help of rand paul, he emerges this evening as someone to watch in 2016. But, again it is too early to say what president is going to do in response to this. What we have heard from or own capitol hill correspondent he is planning to meet with leaders of congress. He is calling for a powwow with them friday. In south dakota, a pick up for republican this is not a shocker this was expected, mike rounds leading in polls, picks up a seat now that had been under democratic control, that means net gain of three right now in lower right portion of screen, lot of have you been emailing confusion over how were doing this, but dont argue with us, this is how were doing it a race to 51 that is all you have to know, right now republicans are closeing in on that, they need 51. Simple 50 will not do it because joe biden, is tii breaker, they need to 51. They are en route to doing very well. A lot of experts you have seen are saying they are getting it more than 6 seats need it. Hard to say but well see. My colleague and friend lou dobbs is here, good to see you. I thought of you when i saw rand paul with mitch mcccnnell, as a big liberttrian yourself, a problem for you . Recall. Neil i think i i. Kennedy i dont think that libertarians are will with the establishment. Neil you are still a hater. Kennedy i am not a hater, i am am a idea call lib tarian, people like me who lobby for limited government and restraint will be interested to see what happens if republicans take control for senate. What will it mean, will it mean more boots on ground. I am not busting out the banjos but it will be an interesting night. Neil lou, early lead on that crowd. Lou that crowd, this is kennedy they follow their oon path, and senator rand paul, principal among them, reality, we have a Republican Party that shows strength, i think they understand given what has transsired over last 6 years, a time for responsibility, i dont think you will see anyone reflect in Republican Party in leadership start driving toward boots the ground or anything of that sort. I think you will see, i am hopeful, and i will recognnze that i am being somewhat optimistic but i believe after last 6 years, Republican Party is going to bring about intelligent leadership, to the fore, which is first and foremost needed. Kennedy and growing pains, i think well see, that i agree with llu, you need restraint, you need maturity, and there has been a lot of infighting,. Neil do you think that will stop. Kennedy it is washington, it is a magnet for chaos if not stopping. Either congress or white house in last decade, this is begining to be common place, switches over two years. Lou it was in doubt the direct to which we would see this election lead. Right now, the republicans are half way to their goal, in terms of pickups and u. S. Senate, that was unthinkable after 2012. I believe that there is nothing routine about what may tran power, you talked about potential for republicans, there is nothing routine about it because, i truly believe personaly, that the republic is at stake in this election, the cliche every election is most important, i think in this case this is extraordinaryly important. Neil but be careful what you wish for. Lou it condition happen too soon. Kennedy lou is right, i believe you will see pendulum shift again in two years, i think that republicans should not get overly confident, and when they do takeover the majority, in senate, because they have a lot more at stake, in two years, president ial race starts tomorrow. Kennedy i find it ironic, that were concerned about already emerging in Republican Party. Weve been inundated with it last 6 years. Neil weve seen data republicans, they have both whittle away the advantage they have. Kennedy you are mr. Independent, lou. Lou i am are in independent. Neil all right. Lets look at that balance of power, a net gain, peter barnes has been doing this, i love this, studio they animate, peter. Very cool, in here. Neil boion cool. I am in weather room but now it is a fabulous, right big storms tonight no politics blah, blah, blah. Look at where we are with balance of power, senate, make up of 18 is the 4senate is 45 r5 democrats if we take the races we called so far, tonight, 4341 with magic number of 51. But all you need to know there is aanet three pick up for the republicans. With West Virginia, arkansas, and south dakota. Now look at a couple other races that will be coming up next hour, when polls close at 10 00 eastern time, first is contest in iowa between bruce braley, and republican joni ernst. This one, was back and forth going into po polls down to the wire, this one could be a close one. Were also looking at south dakota, that is excuse me, montana that is expected to be a pick up for the republicans, for retiring senate seat vacateed by max baucus. Then his successor dropped out of the race, steve danes. He has been up about 20 points in polls over teacher democrat amanda curtis. Neil Peter Laurens than barnesu very much. And we much to alert you as well, for those just joining us, a net gain of three seats, there are some Success Stories on part of democrats, this was widely expected. Cuomo has been reelected as governor of new york. Many have positioned him as a rising star within he Democratic Party who could challenge Hillary Clinton, that is very unlikely but could possibly be a Hillary Clinton running mate. That is assumeing that Hillary Clinton runs and gets a nomination, were long way from, that clintons have not been a shot in the arm for those to whom they have been campaigning. But nevertheless, were hearing about this powwow that president is having at white house with congressional leader friday. Robert murray is not among those vited but a cotitan is joining us. Coal concern, energy, a magnet for every democrat who hates h him. Robert there will be fewer democrats hating you atthispoint, but you might make inroads with possibly a Republican Senate that hears when you say on energy, and inspects and on cold is good, not bad. Coawell, is good not bad, how would you work with a Republican Senate . Neil, environmental groups spend 85 Million Dollars in this election to get democrats and friends of barack obama elected. They are not going to be successful. This is a pour grab of americas pour grid. These environmental folks have been ad addy. Yes, i am in the coal industry, and i have 7400 employees, it is a human issue to me, but i am an american, they are destroying lowcost, electricity, in america. People on fixed incomes are not going to be abll to pay their electric bills people who manufacture a product for a global marketplace are not going to be able to sell the product, he bypassed congress, the house, the senate, this states. And utility commissions, and put federal epa in charge of thery lrytherely bill and i affordabif electric yo power in this count, if you top transform this country, what better way to do it with electric yo power. Neil do you think that changes with what is lapping tonight. It does. Neil how so. Well get a republican majority in senate. Neil you still have a democrat who hates your industry in the white house. He can still sign economist orders. But he can be stale mateed with control of the senate. Neil lou, how realistic is that, will it change . Lou i respect the relationship between the energy industry, and government. But, i do believe that government has been altered3 under this administration and this president. Fundamental transformation you refer to. There is not a person listening to you that does not understand and fear for the future, reality is well see a lame duck section of this congress, that which this president has told everyone he is going to againstmen; cone to pursue regulation, severe tkpra draconian regulation. You dont see that change. Ism ism none will change in this limb duck session. Neil next two years. This is a open issue to what government will do under leadership in the house and senate,. Neil we have breaking news on oil. Here is deal, you talk about president meeting with members of congress, will he talk when keystone, does it matter . Oil is in a swoon, it broke down to 75 a barrel mark, and 3 year low, gas prices right now, watch this, oil analyst talking to fox business, gas prices trending down to 2. 75 a gallon. With oil in soon at levels were seeing we have not seen these levels since u. S. Government shut down in fall of 2011. Now talk about gravitational pull. Two breaking news items right now, saudi arabia did cut prices of oil that will be sold to u. S. Markets. Puuling a move out of 1980s, and 1990s playbook, bare knuckle tactics to preserve its oil share, and second move, major energy player, bhp setting aside u. S. Restricts on oil to overseas market, saying it will selleck port oil to overseas buyers, that is a big deal, pushing aside 4 decade ban. When you see oil break down to these levels that puts back in pockets of consumer about 320 billion, same amount we saw that oillstates earned in revenue, this is huge right 4. With oil, in the soon. Neil and i am wondering if that has anything to do with the slowing economy. I think that the policies of Obama Administration have slowed the economy. Neil will drop off continue . No, it willeed for next two years, sir, last 35 years, the electric Power Industry has trin illed in this country tripleed in this uncountry. Low cost electricity is a staple of life this president and his supporters have destroyed low cost reliable electri electricin america we have to stop it. Neil i am putting and you lou down as maybes on the president. In meantime, local new races just kicking in. For scott brown it might be a case of too little to late but a hell of a fight in a state that might stay democratic. Others calling it for the incume incumbent senator. This race in North Carolina is interesting kay hagan if those numbers stan will still keep or seat this could limit and of the republican games but not wipe them out. Much more to say. Stick around. Gunderman group isrowing. Getting in a groove. Growth is atifying. Goals to grow. Gottai st talketo ups. G. They got expert advise, special discounts, new technologi. Like smart picups. Theyll only show up when yourint a label and its automatic. We se ti and money time . Money . Time and money. Awesome. Awesome esome awome esome i ve liscswesome neil welcome back, i am neil cavuto. Continuing our coverage of this big night, in the state of nebraska. This is keeping things as they were. No switch over there. We have republicans in need of three more seats before they can say senate will be there, that is making a big saw. Tion thesaw. Tio saw. Sumption they dont lose any seats. Well see. Sandra . Were watching for those polls that wwll close at 10 00 hour eastern time. Those in yellow, outlying states are hotly contested senate races. But those in yellow close at 10 00. Mork calling orson, come in orson. Mont phopbgtmontana, and one tho point out before we look at who is running i is economy in stat, arkansas in last hour. Iowa is one of the lowest levels of unemployment for a state, 41. Bottom of list, but still the economy, number one focus for voters in this state, when you look at who is running, joni ernst. Looking at states again. Back to iowa. I knew this was going to happen, there is joni ernst, then you have her opponent bruce bailey, joni ernst because, she is of castrateing hogs fame, reverending her growing up on an iowa farm, a lot of voters are very comfortable with that fact. Her opponent, bruce braley, tv ad spending, they added up in 4 months 2428 million on Television Ads in this senate race between those two. And lastly, brailley and joni ernst, ernst this is about creating jobs, this is what voters said was important, supports repeeliig obamacare, said it is killing jobs along with doddfrank, and braley called for a focus on middle class, supports raising mi minim wage. Neil thank you very much. I remember a couple years ago. The map was not responding to a touch. I was like the guy at home banging on it. They haveeadjusted it now it is a little touchy. Thank you. Neil rich edson following a couple races, iowa. A close race. It would be a significant pick up. That is where president obama won twice, and launched his presidency campaign, looking at wisconsin though. 2016, scott walker many folks believe he is a potential candidate, right now the race is too close to call. Here in new york, andrew cuomo winning a second term at governor. If you look at margin, 2 , these numbers will change. But, cuomo early enough to win. To michigan, rick snideer, the republican, he is up 56 to 42 with 16 in. Were not ready for that one, michigan a righttowork state, and also merge management within detroit. He had a controversial tenure thus far. And this is a race we didnt know we would talk about Kansas Senate but talk about governors race, sam brown has been down slightly in poll right now with 19 in, 46 to 51 against paul davis. Kansas is a deep red state, and two incumbents, roberts and brown, having a tough time pulling ahead or even with their democratic challengeers, a state to watch. Neil watching kansas with big tax cuts in kansas, he said it took a while for Ronald Reagans tax cuts ts to kick in, but vots in pennsylvania not so patient with corbin. That hit hard, were watching all those quotesly thank you very much closely, all right, with me now is a fundraiser venture capitalist, a friend with all powerful people, one of few people of the clintons trust. That is a very powerful thing to have on your resume, a. For clintons, is it important that a lot of folk they campaign for win, a lot are not winning could be a problem for hilllry clinton . I dont think that sudden issue. Hey have gone out and done what they wanted to do. I think they are who they are. I dont think their charisma has dropped, my granddaughter who is 18 had her first vote this afternoon in New Hampshire, i wanted to make sure she knows, she was counted because we young people to vote. Neil did she have to show an i. D. I didnt ask her. Neil your sense of Hillary Clinton, do you see her as frontrunner. I think far and awaa, the other question is, will she run, i tell everyone, is i dont know, and if i know, i would not tell you. It would be shocking if she didnt. There is a groundswell, but, i dont see anyone else, sitting on the sidelines who is close. Neil but 6 years ago about you think from barack obama. Well he caught a wave that we dont have times now that would get the same enthusiasm. Barack obama was a phenomenon that came out of no place. It was very hard to stop. Neil next two years . I think that republicans are moving in a strong direction, it looks pretty realistic they will take that 51 number. I think if that happens, i think, remember when happened with Newt Gingrich and bill clinton in 1994, they seemed to work well together. Neil but bill clinton had a reason to change, he didnt want to be a one termer, barack obama but other hand he wants to leave a legacy, maybe i want optimistic. I think that mcconnell, has an opportunity to turn this around a little bit, and start working with the president , president could do the same thing. We might have constructive movement. I think it would be good for thh nation, but good for the Republican Party too. Show they can deal with the president , and president wants to get legislation didnt he knows he has to get cooperation. Neil they say she has to change, are they right. He has to move toward compromise. Neil hillary will keep running away from him. I dont think so, i think that would be a mistake, she is her own person. Neil ab as a be be guy. I think she is, expressing a very planed vieww she is connerned of the income disparitys. Neil she is playing to the left. She is moving herself in the righhs direction, but she also, expressing issues on business issues. What did you think after that lou. Lou i think, i can bega be be d with you, i worried about her state as she said it, she was slow speaking. Speaking. Kennedy she sounded drunk. Lou was concerned, i thought it was dumbest thing i heard from a politician in a long time, this woman has never run a business. She is trying to become her tsunami mommy. When we get to point we have to offer up, apoll gees for abouwhopublic figures are sayin. We have gone taken a step way too far. This is a woman of great experience. Presumably great integrity for her to say that jobs are not created by businesses and corporations is absurd. On its face. Neil you dont believe she believes that. Lou if she believes it she would be a fool, we know she is not a fool. There is no sense in her igniteing her own campaign before it has begun. Kennedy i think she is trying to become progressiveeand a hawk. Neil alan, you still think she is the one to beat. No question, everyone bowl sawouldsay that. Neil not. Who are you pulling out of the hat. Neil you just answer my questions. I dont know. All right, we are showing other races coming in nothing new. Well have more races and interesting referendum. Also in battle, the whole marijuana thing. Kennedy is so this. Kennedy what are you saying neil . How couldin jellyfish, roteininn impact life ct in the u. S. , real estate in hong g kong, and thoptics industry germany . At t. Rowe price, understand the conntions of. Its just e reason over 70 of our mutuds beat their year lierverage. T. Rowe price. Backome. [ ma announcer ] for all whove served anall o rve, we can nev thankhem enough neil all right. Some of you emailing me why are you calling it racism. Others are saying, which its not. Its not jumping the gun. A lot of people ask, why when you have some states come in women in other states where you have 300,000 voting. I have no idea how they do this. Do we know . Its like team thats putting this together. Right . The decision room staff by some of the finest minds in the business. Absolutely. And theyve got algorithms and theyre deciding. Kennedy theyve got logarithms. Theyve got a rhythm section. Neil bottom line thats why we dont jump beyond the ones weve called beyond the three seats that have changed hands tonight. Lets review them for you. This is a breakdown of the seats that changed the balance of power today. A pick up for republicans in West Virginia. As we move on here, some of these were expected. Take my word for it. Ill show you some of the other races. In the meantime, ill go to jool in kansas. South dakota. A hot and heavy battle, in the end the republicans picked it up. Completing the hat trick for three of the six seats you need forrthe republican control. Joel has been crunching the numbers of what has gotten voters to this point to make these switches. When i peeled back the layers and showed you how voters feel about this economy as they voted in this election. 78 percent ay they are worried about the future of the us economy while 22 percent say theyre not. We also compared to two years ago. We asked how is your familys financial situation. 28 percent say better. 46 percent say its exactly the same. And were also watching as republicans make gains in the senate tonight. How do americans feel about congress . Well, a big one here. 78 percent just disapprove of the job that congress is doing. Only 20 percent approve. For some of those incoming senators certainly there will be a lot of pressure going into washington. Neil all right. Thank you very much. Indiana governor joins us now. Hes a formidable figure. Manyyhave been pushing that he run for president. I wont jump the gun, but what the heck, are you going to run for president. Hi, neil. Good to be with you tonight. Neil lets talk a bit what you see happening right now, governor, and what do you see happening now if we do get a Republican Senate whether that will change washington in the next few years. Whether it will be more of the same. What . Well, and im sitting here weve had a great night in indiana. Were having a good night in america. The story is very much about the control of the senate. I know the National Attention is focused there. I have to tell you, i think there should be just as much focus on the governor aces. I do believe the cure for what ails this country will come from our nations state capitals. I think if republicans win the majority of the senate tonight and renew their majority in the house which they certainly will, they ought to be looking for opportunities in the near term to give more states freedom and flexibility to create the kind of solutions wee been able to create here in the state of indiana, whether its transportation or health care or education. I think that the the kind of the tale of the tape, the American People are fed up with washington, dc, but they see Real Solutions happening. Thats why i think youll see a lot of republican successes. And youre seeing successes at the state level in these governor racesstonight. Neil you know, governor, i dont know what leads to the new face or faces of the republiian party after tonight. But former jack welch was telling me that past weekend that he thinks republicans should go outsidd the proverbial petri dish, he mentioned ted cruz and rand paul. He dropped your name. The people who were not fitting with the typical republican in crowd. I dont know whetter thats a disparaging comment about you or not. But that they need more, you know, rock the vote type of republicans. Do you agree with that . Well, i think the focus tonight is on todays election. And in terms of what our party needs Going Forward, i believe that our party needs to once again not only be a party thats about solutions, but i think we ought to be a party thats just not the other party with washingtons solutions. Party of Ronald Reagan. Ronald reagan said its important to remember that states crrated the federal government. Neil very quickly. Were calling nnw hampshire that scott brown failed to be the second man in more than a century to serve as senator from two different states. He failed in that bid tonight. Many are disappointed as a result there and that was a pick up they had hoped. I think going in tonight it was remote. Nevertheless because the polls were closing people were getting excited. What do you make of what just happened there . I think scott brown ran a fantastic campaign. He articulated an optimistic vision and made what was a tall hill a real racee and i give my i i give a hat tip to him and thank him for what he and his family have gone through. But weve got a good night unfolding not only in the senator races, but these governor races. The American People are recognizing that weve got to not only channe the leadership in washington, which i believe we will in the senate. I believe well win the majority, but the American People are turning to Republican Leadership at the state level. Thats what our National Leadership has got to focus on. Statebased solutions. Neil i apologize for jumping on you. Always good seeing you. Thank yoo. We are showing you whats going on in louisiana. One of those states like georgia too close to call. One of those states as well. That could go to a runoff which means that state wouldnt be resolved until next month sometime so you can imagine all the more money that will be come pouring into that particular state. Stick around approximately well havv paul ryan joining us. A take on how markets are responding. Its still way too early to tell, but talk about a man who is getting the attention of his party. Its former Vice President ial candidate. Who knows. It might be Something Else in just a couple of years. After this. Neil i love that guys voice. Im never prepared for it, but i hear it in my head. Welcome back. We can tell you the battle for the United States senate is on. Here the look of the balance of power now. Fortyfive republican seats to 42 democrat. Going iito this day. Reducing sort of in reverse. We had 55 democrats in charge of the senate. Including two independents. Fortyfive republicans by that math, republicans needed a net game of six seats. They are well on their way. They have three additional seats. The battle in georgia shows david perdue showoff here. Kennedy, we are seeing even with 42 percent, its way too close to call. So sorry ms. Number expert. We dont jump the gun. Hello george is one of those states like louisiana you need aa least 52 percent of the vote or you have a runoff. Louisiana is looking more likely than georgia for the time being. Unfortunately like you, i ddnt jump the gun neither does mr. Dobbs. Having said that, lou, and what you see, is it a matter of time before they get to their six seats . It looks to me like a very close election. Republicans should be celebrating the three they have. Neil what if they dont get the six. Lou they have a different outcome. he idea of anticipating ahead of poll closings. Well get some pretty good explanation on a number of other states as we approach the ten clock ime. Right now 45, 42 isnt a bad position. You know, look where the Republican Party was just two years ago after the defeat of mitt romney and paul ryan, who you seem to be suggesting might be running in 2016. Using this as a mere bridge. Neil you dont think he will be kennedy and im the psychic. Neil your attitude is contagious. Now, the dean of broadcast is so youre saying, thats interesting, you dont think Paul Ryan Lou i have no idea what the outcome will be. Ill leave protestant indicatioleave it others. I havet once. Neil you were excited when you came down here. Pou im excited to be here. Youre misinterpreting neill what if they dont get six seats. Lou they dont get control of the senate and that creates a new set of problems. But i think right now its much to early to decide they would or wouldnt. Of course, once our betters make their judgmental judgment, i will absolutely fall in line with that. Kennedy and you will embrace the results . Neil absolutely. What youve seen thus far, kennedy . Kennedy do you know what i think . I think that it is wonderfully chaotic. I think that both sides take for granted the blocks of voters that theyve had in the past. More and more people are not only thinking for themselves. Theyre thinking about individual issues and individual candidates and not necessarily voting by party, and i think ultimately that will be a great thing, and it speaks to the pendulum that lou was referencing earlier in the show. Because, you know, people areet beholden to the rs or the ds the way their parents are. And certainly the democrats have hemorrhaged hispanics and millennials. And republicans havent been there to scoop them up and give them a anew path to forge. Neil do they need to do that. Kennedy if theyre going to win the white house in the futuree absolutely. If theyre going to have a comprehensive agenda, they need to be smarter, mmture, restrained, and convincing. Neil okay. All right. Iowa is one of those crucial races that could be a pick up. To your point on the march to six. That is too close to call, but we might be able to call it for you very, very soon and well be going to our room where they decide all of that as they sharpen their darts and decide which races are looking the most compelling for republicans on the night Jeanne Shaheen has picked up a big win for the democrats and one they were anxious over. Scott brown will not be a New Hampshire senator. Well have more after this. Music. The getaway vehicle for all the confidence you need. Td ameritrade. You got this. Neil all right. We are following a lot of races, including florida Charlie Crist the democrat or the republican turned democrat, who is in a battle right ow and wanted to keep polls open longer in barrard county. The judge slapped that down. It is florida. It is happening again in a race, a gubernatorial battle that as expected is going right down to the wire. I believe they have roughly half the vote in right now and the two are separated by nothing. But thats the way it is. All right. Rich edson monitoring these and other races right now. Rich, what can you tell us. If you havent had enough campaign ads and youd like some more, you can move to louisiana youll get somewhere. That will go to a runoff. One of the candidates had to get 50 percent of the vote. None of them got that. This goes to a runoff. Mary landrieu she was doing better than bill cassidy the republican in a threeway race, but in the headtohead race shes losing in the polls there. This will play out a lot of money a lot of attention in louisiana the next month. In the state of kansas, greg orman the independent who has been running close if not ahead of the incumbent pat roberts, just 31 percent, with roberts with a slight lead. Cant call this now. Neil we are now, but we are calling colorados senate. For the republican. Markkudall goes down. That would be an additional pick up. You need six. That would be the fourth pick up. And this is a bit of a surprise. The polls were tightening, but fox news is now comfortable projecting that colorado will fall into the Republican Party. Thats a very Interesting Development. Paul ryan joins us right now. What he makes of these developments. Congressman, very good to have you. What do you make of whats happening in the senate . I think its pretty darn good. Thats what i make of it. We picked up three for sure. A runoff in louisiana, which we feel good about doing. Looks like well pick up the senate. We have a ways to go tonight. Well see how good of a night it will be. I feel pretty good. I think my buddy scott walker in wisconsin, we feel pretty good abouu that race as well. Neil the fact that its close in a number of states, scott did not manage to close that deal. Are you frustrated by that, or just pick up the fact that you have more wins than losses . Are you talking about scott brown in New Hampshire . Neil yeah, scott brown. He had an uphill battle. Gene shaheen, shes a formidable opponent. Never an easy race to win. Mike brown picked up a seat. Shelly in West Virginia. We feel pretty darn good about things. I feel good about cory gardner. Feel good about louisiana in the runoff. I feel like well have a shot at picking up the senate and it will be a good night for republicans. Neil all the guys you were campaigning for won, and im wondering whether youre the kingmaker. Yeah, i campaign with a lot of candidates around the country. And i feel very good. We have fantastic candidates this year. Whats happening, neil, its not just the Obama Administration that voters are responding to, but the incompetence of Big Government that theyre responding to. You have to understand in 2012, the problem, it was our word against their word. It was the promise of Big Government. The president delayed putting his program until 2014. Obamacare, doddfrank. Those didnt take place until 2013. Now, they took place. Now, people see what Big Government looks like. Its incompetent. Its dominating our livvs. Its suffocating our lives. Keeping people in poverty. The fact we have great candidates who are capitalizing on that fact, offering better ideas and solutions. I think thats why well have a good night tonight. Neil do you worry that right now youll have to work with the president and hope either youre enlightened or you see his, you guys meet each other in the middle. Many argue now that republicans are going to be orced to put up and not just lean harry reid and with that comes a lot of pressure. I look forward to to that. Sorry. I had to stick my head in my ear so i can hear you. I look forward to to that pressure. We always have a chance to put an agenda on his desk. Weve passed over 383 bills in the house shooing how we would fix ttings only to see them go nowhere. Now, with the senate which it looks like well get well have votes on those bills. A lot of those bills we can pass. Keystone pipeline we can get that on his desk right away. We have a chance of putting these bills on his desk. What hell do, i dont know. At least people know where we stand and at least we have a chance of breaking some of the gridlock, clearly the congressional gridlock and give the president to make a decision or to and showing the country how we would do things differently how we would taakle the problems confronting us. Neil i was talking to your running mate mitt romney about saying republicans were ready to make the gutsy decision that theyre up to them. Every time you just try to tinker are entitlement adjustments and the rate of increase and spending, youre all, but throwing grandma off a cliff. The media piles on you. Do you think your fellow republicans have the stomach to put up with that and will put up with that . I do. Because i have passed four budgets that do just what you said, take on entitlement reforms, balance the budget, pay off the debt. Ive done it four years in the row. Passed out of the house of republicans. So we in the house have shown our willingness to do this. Among the 380 bills weve passed entitlement reforms, energy policy, defense policy, Foreign Policy, you name it. So we are ready to do this. Were ready to govern. Weve already shown what we will do if you give us the opportunity. Give us the senate. Neil are you going to run for president. I dont know thats a 2015 decision. 2014. Im kind of focused on tonight right now. Neil very high name recognition, and thats a battle for a lot of these guys or women in running. And, you know, you did establish the leadership position trying to address the things that maybe both parties should address, the budget issues, you could make a good case you were ahead of the curve. But what about that . Was the whole race before just too much . Yeah, im just going to decide later, neil. The way ill decide to handle that decision, work on getting 2014 under wraps. Help get the senate in republican hands. Help grow the house majority. Work on what my job in congress. I have an important job in congress. I have a lot to offer there. Then in 2015, i will sit with my family and go through that decision process that anyone goes through. Neil mitt romney, do you think he should run again . I would love if he would, but he says hes not running and hes not planning on running. Neil paul ryan, thank you very much. Crazy night. Thank you. You bet. Have a good one. Neil paul ryan. Lou dobbs with me right now. There are at least a dozen names, paul is among them, possible president ial candidates. Is anyone galvanizing the party yet . Lou i dont think so. You listen to congressman ryan. He ran off a laundry list of issues which are all important. Hes correct about what the house has done with those issues and putting them in legislative form and sending them to the senate, but there is no excitement emanating from the man. This is, i think, clearly right now if the republicans if this election froze right here. The republicans would have done well. They would be disappointed they hadnt taken control of the senate. They are doing well. They have greater prospects during this evening. Neil no one is lou dobbs just yet. Lou in terms of the presidency . Neil montana another pick up. This one were comfortable saying. The fact of the matter is that brings it up to plus five. One away from getting that. Lou now we can get excited. Right . Neil i swear you seem excited when you first said it. With all these teams, someone will emerge this night and rand paul was among when mentioned earlier tonight when i was talking about Mitch Mcconnell. Is it going to have to take someone like, someone outside the mainstream of the party . Lou i think outside the staibt orthodoxy of the party. I dont believe the orthodoxy of the party has shown itself whether it be with the fundraising apparatus, i dont think the republican establishment has shown itself to be sulfatsufficiently thoughtful. Neil is Chris Christie in that establishment. Lou i think hes at the perimeter of it. I dont see him as that. I see him frankly now being rejected by that establishment because hes proved himself to be something, i think, to many of them Something Different than they thought. Neil that was a gentle way to answer that. Lou thank you very much. Thank you. Neil as lou and i were speaking, more races here. I want to bring you up to speed. In North Carolina this is a very close race. If kay hagan would go down to defeat, it would be another republican pick up and would secure of the senate. S control youre not kidding at all. In georgia right now another race that were just not comfortable calling, but its looking good for david perdue and could avoid a runoff altogether. You need at least 50 percent of the vote there. in voornlg, this one is a shocker because i dont thinn lou anyone thought ed gillespie had a chance. He could be pulling the upset of the night. Lou they were hoping that hh would closely. I didnt hear anyone hope that ed could win and the implications of a win for ed mean great things for the Republican Party through the rest of this evening. Neil its a big surprise. All right. Thats where we stand. We have five pickups in the senate. The governships still a mix. Lost a republican one. I should say, the basic break down has not changed at all. But the republicans are well on route to controlling both houses of congress, something weve not seen since Ronald Reagan by at least these margins. That could change as the night goes on, but its still early. Still got a long way to go. Lou and i think we should give kennedy credit. Earlier she had said based onnsome relatively scant numbers that perdue was running away with it. And it turns out it may we should give kennedy her credit for where she is. Neil and you and i hear this, why are you calling a race when only a few people have voted or converls if it looks like a landslide in reverse and were calling it for the other person, its that room where theyre doing all this. Lou flawless record. Neil so we defer to them. Thats where we stand. Sarah palin will be joining us. Oh, she joins us right noww governor, very good to have you. Didnt know we were going to you right now. How are you doing . What do you make of whats going on tonight . Its a greaa night thus far. A lot of hope, i think, and a lot of appreciation by the american public, who Common Sense Conservatives appreciation for people willing to put themselves out there in the name of Public Service especially the nenewnewbrunswick ease who hadnt run as well. Neil some arent faaing as well. Do you think its the voters way of saying were not going to go out there. We wont go that outside the mainstream. What do you say . No, i think voters are saying, you know, . its an anticrony capitalism, anticorruption vote that youre seeing tonight. In some respects, it is message being sent. T but the specific races that youre referring to, that my picks arent doing well like who, what . Neil im talking about Third Party Candidates like in georgia and in louisiana, where the Third Party Candidate is not faring well and the possibility is still there certainly in louisiana, but im just wondering whether the party is coalescing around more establishment candidates. Way too early to tell and we have to hear from your state later on, alaska. What do you make of it . Well, georgia, i dont think that thats a consideration in the column that you just put it in. And louisiana, rrb, the colonel who are running, hes a republican. Not third party. Neil theyre fighting back and forth within the rrpublican party. The conservative alternatives. Go ahead. Yeah. No, i think that americans are saying that no more status quu and some specific states like say mcconnells state theyre in kentucky. They reelecting him based on the experience that he brought to the table. And they not obviousll preferring the democrat over the republican its not anna anomaly, but i think it speaks to that states particular want and need for that experience in there. Now, there are other states like up here in alaska where were really paying attention to what the federal government is doing to us and locking up our lands and overregulating industry. Driving industry off our shores and shoving them onto foreign shores. Because of that, were paying attention saying we cannot afford another d in obamas his side of the ledger. Thats why sullivan is going to do well tonight. Neil when you look at the people who are emerging this night, still early. Talking to paul ryan, and some of those whose names have come up as possible 2016 candidatee. I know getting way ahead of ourselves. Do you ever look at that crowd and say, i should be in that crowd . I was a trailblazer before they were blazing anything . Well, its always kind of funny to me to see who it is who chooses the crop that should be considered for, say, 2016. If you go out there and poll just the average hard working patriotii american i dont think they necessarily agree with the crop, the permanent Political Class and some of you brilliant pundits would choose to present to the American People. In the way of discussion at this point. I look at a group of some of the particulars you were mentioning and i say, no, like lou dobbs said. America, were going to choose someone outside of that mainstream either party. . neil that would be you. Youre outside the mainstream. Youre outside the mainstream. Why not you . Would you want to run . A little poll just among the two of you. Neil well, i asked you. Lou are we doing a poll . Yes. Amongst the two of you. Neil would you be open to a president ial run yourself or no . Well, of course. Anybody who loves this country as much as i and you do, anybody who has the willingness and the ability to do so would be crazy to say no to at least the possibility, thinking about it. Neil all governor, real pleasure. I like that you called me brilliant and a pundit in one sentence. Lou i think that was plural. Neil it really was. Part f a group. Neil governor sarah palin. Now, people move forward. Who will be the rising star in both parties. The former Virginia Governor. First africanamerican governor in this country. If not for he, wed have no barack obama. Depending on where you stand on this, you either thank him or curse him. Governor, its good to have you. Neil its always good to be with you. Neil what do you make what barack obama has to do now following what appears to be happening tonight and a Republican Senate coming his way . Well, if hes concerned at all with any legacy, hes got to start preparing for that. Six years is a long time to be there, but it comes all to a close so quickly. So what hes got to do to look to see what has life being there donee for americans, what has it done for people who have been many times left out of the equation, and as i have said oo so many indicationsoccasions, being he first is not too good unless there is a second. Thats why i was good to see my good friend Deval Patrick one and i think well be seeing one of the bluest stations in the nation in maryland tonight. Neil hes stepping down. Hes going away. Im speaking about in maryland. Youre right. Hes stepping down. Neil is it your sense, governor, that barack obama will come and reach out to republicans. Hes talked the talk so hell meet them halfway. Republicans feel event. Democrats say, well, the republicans havent done it either. What happens now . I think what i was trying to lead to was that, right now, the only legacy that he could lay claim to would be Affordable Health care. Is that complete . No. Is it where he would like it to be . I hope not. Will there need to be more work on it . Yes. if you take that away, the real question is, what else is there left that he would lay claim to a legacy. So hh needs to right now decide what is it that i can do in this time that is left for me to let the American People know that i am going to keep the promises that i made in terms of an open government that im going to try to do things relative to tax reform, that i want to make certain that we reach out and represent all people. That then has to be a complete change of what has happened. One of the big mistakes that the president made was when he had the control of the congress. Neil thats right. And the house as well as in the senate. Neil the run of the table. The run of the table. You had a twoyear run. You sit down and set up. And say one, two, three, four. These are things i can get done. And i have not seen those things. Neil we are threequarters the way through. Well have you throughout the hour. Lou wants to talk to youu as well. Hang around governor, if you can, peter barns has been keeping track of whats going on tonight and addressing things the governor has been referring to, these potentially seismic changes happening beneath us. Peter, what can you tell us . Were all concentrated on the senate and the balance of power there. But you know what all 435 members of the house are p for election tonight. We want to check on where the house races stand right now. And the outgoing house, the balance of power currently is 224 republicans, republicans 201. Democrats and the outcome here is not really in question. Republicans, in fact, expect to pick up about maybe a dozen seats or so tonight, but as of this hour for all the races that fox has called, the balance of power stands at 162 republicans to and now, weve just been just gotten this bulletin. That republicans have taken control of the house again. We havent got this on our boards yet, but apparently they do have the 218 necessary to have the majority of the house and we do expect them to add onto that as the evening goes on and they should end up with probably 245 oo so. Thats what theyre shooting for from about 234 right now. I want to look back at the senate and the Outgoing Senate 45 republicans, 55 democrats. Republicans looking to pick up six seats tonight. Weve already called net five wins for republiians. So currently at this hour, 47 republican seats, 42 democratic seats, but, of course, weve got close races still in iowa, kansas, North Carolina that we havent called. Well probably see these numbers continue to change. Neil thank you very much. Some of you emailing and i cant respond to all you ask about how were counting this. Thirtysix seats up for grabs. We removed the equation the ones that are in there. We add the races as theyve become confirmed. You start from zero. All 435 are up for the job. Thirtysix governors also tonight 21 are democrat, 29 are republican. Right now it is no party in at least the govern is getting the edge here. Republicans are in the senate up in that five seat and certainly in the house indications are as many as an additional 12 seats. That would be remarkable because that would bring their majority to 245 versus about 100 87. Thats a a huge gap, lou. Lou the same margin of control for the Republican Party under truman. Neil is that right . Lou and it would be extraordinary. It doesnt effectt of course, the legislative power because theyve got that now, but it would be quite a statement and something, of course, they would be about building on. Ng and as you look at the balance of power in the senate, neil, i mean, this is we were talking about, if we froze, just plus three. Were now to five, in prospect is doing much better than six. Is a possibility. The evening is as they say, young. Neil i just hope it doesnt go to wait for a Runoff Election because that just no, its not a deal. . lou its politics. Its part of the deal. Im going to use the word again. Im excited to watch whats happening here. This is this is a fascinating election. I think as i listen to paul ryan and to sarah palin talk about their interpreeation of this race. This is not neil is she running . Lou i think she would run in a heartbeat. People would support her. Even ttough the president put his policies on the ballots all across the country, this is still a race amongst those seeking to serve in congress and the senate and, you know, were going to see some kind of fun things over the course of this evening. Neil and we might. Our friend charles payne, great hit show on this network, if thats the only one that requires him to make money for people, me and lou can just slap our names on the show and theres no real ownous there. Charles i love the stock named fire eye. The feud of viewers arent happy about that. A little tough day to day. Lou thats quiteean organization. Terrific organization. Charles not after the close. They beat everywhere. This revenue by a Million Dollars. Its down im going to hang in there. I hope people dont get too angry. Neil you seem upset. Lou the longterm. Neil is this day affecting any of your investment strategy. Charles it might. Listen, weve had certain industries, obviously comprised between the president and new senate, congress controlled by the g. O. P. Neil thats assuming it. Charles ill make that leap, if you f youll allow me to. I think it was a National Referendum on the president s policies and a total rebuke of the president. Even though he didnt have internally what bill clinton had, this will nudge him somewhere. Keystone is easy. Lets check that off. Tax reform. Repatriotrism of taxes. Set up a Small Infrastructure Fund sommwhere comprise there. The highest tax rates in the world. Bring those down. Maybe set up a mall prek program. Some things may start to get done. Lets call off the war against business. The war against success anreel that back in. Neil this is the election well start to see progress. The two never get to do that. Its mutual destruction for them if they dont. Charles to a certain degree a period victory for republicans and also on the notion, i love your interview with sarah palin because there is you know, listen after the night is said and done, there will be some chop looking. Who will be the leader . Will it be the guard lets face it. They won. The zer owe guard. You cant ignore the rand pauls or the ted cruzs. How do they work with each other . We can go the number two that the republicans spend money on ads was immigration. Now, this last week it wasnt in the top 15. Neil interesting . charles that kind of stuff speaks to me. I hope its the economy first and foreeost. Neil rich, what do you have. Lets take a look at some of these ballot questions. Colorado voting no on amendment 67. This is a personhood amendment and would allow prosecutors to charge somebody with a crime if they committed crime so lets say somebody is convicted of murdering a pregnant woman they could be charged with killing not only that woman, but hee unborn child. This was a back door attempt at criminal liesing abortion. Medical marijuana failing there. A number of marijuana on the ballots in the country. We have a result in the new mexico race as expected, the republican she beats gary, widely go to thought of as potential as a president ial pick for 2016. Neil as you were speaking, scott walker we can now say has won reelection in wisconsin, which if you think about it, its his third election in three years. Recall election. Survived that one. Survived this one. Those arent final numbers. Were comfortable with saying scott walke walker and other of those 2016 mentioned names is going on to serve for another four years in wisconsin. Were seeing how all that goes down. Were going to come back with doug wilder the former Virginia Governor. Well come with Burnie Marcus with ted. Well, bernie was telling me a few days ago, in this environment, all the regulations and everything else, he could repeat that success. In other words, he doesnt think in this environment, as bad as it was in the late 70s when he started home depot, he could work that magic again. Hes back with us. Neil all right. Welcome back, everybody. Lou dobbs will be joining us shortly. I have charles payne. The former Virginia Governor wilder. Bernie marcus one of the founders of home depot very intimidating store for me. Im not handy. To this day, they put everything i need on a shelf 5 miles high, but nevertheless he saw that in the middle of, i think it wws the carter recession at the time, but, bernie, you tell me Something Interesting as difficult as those times were, the unfriendly Regulatory Environment is even tougher. What did you mean by that . If we tried to start home depot again and ive said this many times, theres no way we could achieve what we did in the period of time that we have now. It seems that back in 1979, 80 in those years, i think the government was there for you. They wanted to see businesses grow and prosper. And i think thats whats happened and this goes on for so many years, through democrats and republican as well, by the way, one of the worst pieces of legislation to come down the pike was signed by bush. Its both parties that have done the damage, but i must tell you most the damage has been done by the democrats over the years. And, you know, if you look at some of the legislation sitting out there now, its going to be very, very difficult for somebody to do what they want to do and to grow a business. Unless, as i told you you, unless youre a genius, and, you know, how to build a in 14 hours, youre a multi billionaire, but if you work at a business and put sweat and labor into it, i think its very hard. We have to turn that around and make it easier by getting rid of a lot of these regulations and looking at the tax structure and looking at all the issues out there. You know, one of the things that im very happy about tonight, neil, is what happened in wisconsin with scott walker. The unions have spent i dont know how many millions of dollars of their members dues trying to get this guy out of office, when, in fact, the Union Members are voting for him. When they come out afterwards and they start looking at the ballots, theyll find out the Union Members supported this guy. Neil they were with him in the recall election. As youre saying that, bernie, i want to bring doug wilder into this. You touched on something that could be a political issue Going Forward that the Democratic Party might have veered so far off the side of business, gove very hard for this president or democrats in general to show theyre interested in business. When even prospective nominee, say companies dont hire. She tried to bring that back a little bit, but the damage was done. And it continued a tone that many Business Leaders like bernie is very antithem. What do you think of that. Bernie has made a good point. You make a good point as well. You have seen not only that Hillary Clinton tried to wwlk that back, i dont think theres any doubt in anyones mind that hillary has done her job in distancing herself from the president. And that might be to the consternation of some people, but i can tell you its the smartest political thing she could have done. Neil to be antibusiness . No, to be antiobama in terms of whether, in fact, she agreed with all the things hes done. No, no one is mart t smart to be antibusiness. Neil what bernie is saying, the rep is they fear democrats. Every time they think that the sky is clear and they can move forward that someone slaps them down again. This is what i meant by the president needing to have to have around him people to counter that on a regular basis. Neil thats not happening . No, it hasnt happened. Governor, let me interrupt you for one second and tell you, number one, heard Hillary Clinton say that companies dont create businesses and jobs. And she was as wrong as she could be. But, you know, you take people at what they say. When i tell you something, governor, you can take it to the bank. In other words, if a politician says it, you just say, well, they really mean it. Yes, she meant it. And let me tell you this most of the businesses in the United States today that are doing the hiring, almost 70 percent are Small Businesses. And when we talk about businesses, were not talking about general electric. Were talking about Small Businesses. I know this. But theyre getting killed. Wwy did we change the tax rate so that the vast majority of these businesses, which are owned individually, are being taxed as ordinary rates . Let me tell you, and i dont disagree with you what youre saying at all. But let me say this to you what is happening tonight lays the foundation for the 2016 president ial elections to be as exciting as could be because the republicans need to nominate someone, neil, not who wants to be president or who thinks they might be, but someone who can speak for all americans. Neil well, i havent found that person yet. I understand that. And they need that. And then Hillary Clinton or the democrats would have to dmoment someone nominate that speaks for all americans. 2016 will not be a guarantee for anyone. Youve seen whats making place across the state. Look at my state virginia tonight. Neil youre right about that. I dont mean to jump on either of you. But we have some Quick Reaction from the Financial Community and the world. How the world is reacting to us. Lizzie on that. Thats right. What were watching now is earlier in these sessions, ii the future sessions, it was only the nasdaq futures in the green. Right now the s p 500 and the dow and the nasdaq are all trading in the green. So we could havv a positive open acrosstheboard. Still were seeing mixed action over sees. Were also watching what is going on with oil. Oil is one of the biggest market stories. It broke down to 75 a barrel. Energy is a big deal in five key races. Colorado, louisiana, iowa, New Hampshire, and kentucky. Right now were seeing just colorado and kentucky where you have the g. O. P. Clear victors. We have the Environmental Movement pouring millions of dollars this Midterm Election into these five key races. A runoff or a loss in New Hampshire for the g. O. P. This is a really Interesting Development right now. . also, were hearing the administration get this, breaking news, is basically giving a wink, wink to oil majors here in the United States for the first time export oil overseas to sell it overseas to foreign buyers. That would basically be setting aside that four decades long ban that dates back to the arab oil embargo. The Commerce Department is saying, yes, us players you can export oil without an explicit recommendation from us. Neil i saw that as well. And charles payne, it might be the first sign pointing about how the administration adjusts in this environment. Maybe become more pro business. Charles i dont think they will have a choice. President obama will go kicking and screaming. He used that word shellacked because its starting to evolve that way. Neil i dont think he does. Or certainly in New Hampshire to say, and the republican governor of pennsylvania, he will pull it back to say, no, this is hardly a big overreaching verdict. Charles well, then one of the sycophants will have to stand up. If im a democrat right now i start looking forward. And i say, you know what, what did we see already . I had fun with this because it felt like over the last few weeks it felt like julius serious. Hillary clinton theyve been leaving them in droves. The ones active will probably leave him. . the thing with the Hillary Clinton and the jobs thing, i thought that was a shot across the bough of elizabeth warren. She scares me more than anyone else in the next two years. Neil interesting. Well, you have to stand for something. Well see. Governor wilder real quickly before we go to a break, you mentioned whats happening in your fine state of virginia and right now we could see a big surprise in the senate race. Too close to call here, but the fact that the former Republican National Committee Chair is competitive as he is and within a tick the guy who was once ahead ten points in the polls, wow, that is seismic. Well, i never believed that neil, and i told him that. When he called that neil you told mark warner that . Yes, i told him youre not ten points up, not eight points up, not five points up. You and i know what the polls were saying about me. Neil twenty points and you barely won. Poppycock. But let me say mark warner might squeak through tonight, i predict he will win tonight, but it will be the narrowest of margins for that to take place in virginia tells a lot of people tells a lot of democrats, things have got to change for both parties if you want to be speaking for the American People. Neil well watch very, very closely. Well give you an update on some of the races that are widening a little bit. Others too close to call. The new story that the republiians are close to the senate. Within one of getting it there. Iowa one of the races were watching extremely close right now. Right now, you have the democrat ahead here, but its way too early. North carolina too close to call. Democrats are convince that had kay hagan will lose out. They have to hear from the urban areas. Were not calling it. Few are calling it. Pat roberts holds onto put off the greg orman independent. The democrat who turned independent, but kansas, if roberts pulls out ahead here, he has protected a seat that many republicans feared they would lose and they would have to gain seven seats, but now its back to that six which means one more. Neil all right. I want to take a look at the state of new mexico. Tom youd will hold on if this holds up. The incumbent who is in the fight of his life here. It looks like he will hold on. So what republicans had hoped would be a pick up is not. And also, what democrats had hoped would be a pick up in michigan has not materialized. Schneider holds onto that job. In battle governors, wisconsin and in ohio and now in michigan have all held onto their jobs. And each and all probably making some claim to being a sensation for the party in a couple of years. You know how that goes. What is driving all this and what voters are thinking. Jolene. The race in kansas is neck and in the case between independent greg orman. Here are what votes think are the most important issue. The most important 49 percent say its the economy. 22 percent say health care while 14 percent are saying they are concerned about ilLegal Immigration. Whats interestinn about orman he said hell caucus with whatever party is in the majority that fits with kansas voters if he wins. Lets look at how the ever critical voters in kansas, 52 percent wferg orman. 38 percent chose roberts and 10 percent went for the other. Batson is the libertarian who has been eating at roberts share of the vote. We have to turn to iowa. Very tight race there as republican joni ernst attempts to beat bruce braley. 78 percent of voters are concerned about the future of the us economy. Thats actually really interesting. Unemployment, neil, is 4. 6 percent in iowa. Thats actually lower than the National Average of 5. 9 percent. so i also want to take a closer look at joni ernst. If she wins she will be the first woman to represent iowa in either the house or senate, but 38 percent say shes too conservative on the issues while 47 percent say its just right goldilocks conservative enough. Its interesting to see this break down after that. Taylor swift comparison, but ernst says she is shaking it off. Neil i did get that reference. It was a compliment approximate. It was meant to be a compliment . It was meant to be a compliment. A lot of explanation after that. It worked for all neil i hate when people go after me for my looks. Treat me for my brain. Thats where y theyre tuning in, neil scavment as jolene said youre running out of states to get appreciably above six, but the options are going to a runoff that would probably go to the republicans in louisiana. Lou thats the view. Neil that would be your six right there. But youre waiting on iowa and alaska, which is overnight. Lou and ive never been one of those in the that wants this to be done quickly. Neil youre very patient. Lou no question about it. I dont knowwhow patient the country will be if that that six seat doesnt swing the republican way. But right now it looks very good for the republicans. Theyre not going to have the wave election, it appears, that everyone talked about. So frequently, but at issue here is precisely what you see on the screen. Right now the republicans are doing very well. Neil yeah. The multi billionaire. Talking about shampoo. Moved on to liquor and the 9 yards. You know his face, image. Iconic. What did you make of lous point that its a we might not get much beyond the six seats, but the senate is a big deal. America is speaking and i ove you out there. America is speaking. Whats been going on just doesnt work by shifting the power to the other side it gives the opportunity for republicans to get something done. And i think even though think i think theyll have it hands down. It gives them a chance to speak. Unless the president vetoes everything which would be an embarrassment to of him, we could see some changes that everyone has been looking for all these years. Weve got very, very little in six years. Im very optimistic. Neil i want to take another peek at New Hampshire. Were told that scott brown is not conceding this race. Its very, very close. Weve already called it for shaheen, but the fact is he is not calling it. There ould be a variety of reasons for that, but the race is at least in his eyes too close. This is shaheens headquarters. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is celebrating these results is one of the few highlights that would hold for democrats. Scott brawn notwithstanding we suspect it will hold. I wonder what the presidency is on tomorrow. In the case of what happened in New Hampshire in the case of kicking out a republican governor in pennsylvania that it all balances out that this is hardly a sweeping verdict for republicans and hence, it just adds to the confusion. What do you think . If the president wanted to do something and leave a name behind that is something good for america, he would figure out no matter what is going on, lets start doing things that are good for all americans, not divide people as weve been doing the last six years. Lets get something good accomplished where we can blend together. Regardless if its a majority or even steven in the us senate. It gives him a chance to actuully do something good for all the American People and getting us all together, which is what he should have been doing the last six years and he hadnt. I think either way well all benefit. Another thing, the closer we get to the ballots or even a little bit ahead a lot of people, Big Companies that have a lot of money will start releasing some of it because theyll feel better in a climate they think will be more even as opposed to people pitted against each other. Neil i hope youre right. Charles payne is joining me now. And lou. I know you hope that it will embolden the president to look at what happened to negotiate more and concede more. I dont know. I just dont know. We can only start that energy flow. Neil you make a good point. I dont know if this president will see that. Charles i understand your skepticism. I joked around that there was a brief moment when we usee the word pragmatic and that was after he won the election the first time. After that, we never had the chance to use the word again. Weve had some really smart people who i consider mostly down the middle. You had doug wilder on earlier. They both said the exact same thing. The president has two years to mend the legacy. You have to hand the baton off. Theyve complained about the party of no for the last six years. Hell be the president of no from now on . Neil its interesting because now the repubbicans can say harry reid stopped them in the senate now no one is stopping the senate so theyre saying here is all our stuff. Lou paul his optimism is to be condemned, but im from the school that past results indicates future performance. Neil kansas has gone for pat roberts. Go ahead, lou. Lou oneeof the most interesting races that they would even in the state of kansas, if i may say this, take on a candidate who is the favorite. Which he would not say who would caucus with. He wouldnt declare his political philosophy. He darn near upset charles i think they didnt have a photograph of him until a week ago. Neil i guess it shows that, you know, if you are the bum in and people are angry in yourrict state or district, it doesnt matter whether youre republican or democrat, youll feel the heat. Thats right. The more we talk about the positive things that might happen, the more we put that positive energy in the air, maybe some really positive things will happen if enough people talk and think that way. Mr. President this is directed at you. Were for the people. Lets make sure were together. Lou i got to say, i commend your optimism. Remember remember all that posstive energy that emanating from the Obama Campaign in 2008. Hope and change. I mean, positive energy. I happen to agree with you. A positive spirit is a blessing, and i want everyone to have that spirit, but i also want no more disappointment and i want us not to consider even deluding ourselves one moment longer. Agreed. Neil is there anything wrong with john paul being optimistii. Are you drinking your shampoo youre putting on your head. I definitely like your optimism. Theres a new chance. New group, new chance. Neil absolutely right. I appreciate that. When we come back, well get an update on some of these races still too close to call. Iowa, the shaheen headquarters in New Hampshire. That race is close, but it looks like scott brown is not accepting the verdict, and right now, iowa, its still a battle right there. Joni ernst and bruce braley in the fight of their lives. Braley leading, but, again, it is way too early to call that one way or the other. If ernst were to take that, that would be a pick up and that would settle it, but were not mathematicians. Its not ending. It is not ending. Getting that extra vote is going to be a haul. More neil one of the reasons why scott brown is not conceding, there are some voting irregularities, that is why in that race it still tight. Shaheen will announce she won, he is not going along, he is resisting it. North carolina is another case too close to call, if till is were to win that would be a pick up for republicans that wouuddbe enough for 6 seats. It is still too close to call, were not calling it in either state. Then move to later in alaska, i dont know about that all right, so, charles payne, looking at these cross currents, nailbiters, now in very lose states, inevitable happens, challenges on left, right, in New Hampshire with brown, and candidates saying, too many people at polls in florida. You know what happens. Sure, hanging chad. Already in a environment where people are so dispond an. This year, rutgers did a survey, asking for how long it will take for us to come out of the great recession, i think that number was 39 of americans said never. A year and a half ago 25 said never. We already have such a dark cloud, a lot of this centralizeed on lack of leadership, in particular within the government, it this is another series of messes it would met gates victory mitigate a victory for the g. O. P. Kennedyg. O. P. Ism were a societt so polarizeed this is like 1960s with vietnam and civil rights era. The causes and the issues are not that profound. They are really not. What were talking about is a leadership that lacks confidence, capacity, vision. And i am talking about also deficiencys in, leadership itself. I was amused to hear a number of our gersts talk about guests talk about well do this. We have an entire ceo class in this country that is suspect, because they lack that vision, that energy, and capacity for risk. And i think that there are a lot of reasons for it. But it is the overhang of a view of government that is somehow the pen asea for all of societys ills that is driving the economy, it is wer were ae rupture point. We have to understand it is time to stand up, i know that people are badly hurt, badly injured by the 2008 recession. But it is time for ttis country to stand up and say we are going to be who we are intended to be. The Business Leaders are they brow beaten to that point. Fair question. But. A Business Leader must be a Business Leader, think of great leadering you know. Neil we need some leaders. Someone does emerge. I dont know about you someone will emerge, who . I, agree with the observation that lou and charles made, someone will emerge. I am optimistic too, lou. Neil lou is not running for anything right now. Not this year. But, i do believe this that the American People are telling anyone who would listen, were not fools, were not stupid. The only thing we can express ourselves with, is with our votes and ballots, listen to us. I think within next two years they will hear it. Neil all right. Governor thank you very much. Neil always a pleasure. David perdue is the winner in georgia, avoiding a run off with a third party. He survived that, will be no extended balloting required in georgia. In louisiana there will be, this is not a pick up, per say, where are we going . If it is a republican majority, does it make a difference. If we get there. At this point, you know with two years left in the presidenc this is a hugg statement, governor wilder said it American People are speaking loud and clear in my opinion. Neil i is it universally loud d clear. Lou i know that difference in terms of leadership for the republicans if they get that 6 turnnin control of the sea sena, there is not much difference between 51 votes and 53. Those expectations create false joy or disappointment. Neil because, you know nowhere near 60 to reverse. You got senate buu you have to talk to the big guy still. Lou that is the case, i meant it, i said well watch i believe a Republican Party somewhat chastened by evens of 2012, preparing for leadership in 2016. With taking control of the senate, if that is what they do. I think you will see a new spirit in the Republican Party, one that is shall i say, more inclusive. And i think some people might get as an old expression, a little religion when going beyond what is their traaitions. Neil back and forth every two years it seems. You think they would learn from this. To lous point, this was not about the g. O. P. Having a great amazing message, and everyone came flocking, that is why we keep flip ploping, everyone is is afraid to take a stand they hope that the other guy messes up. Moving his budget forward, which senate why they died. They have the opportunity now to take leadership on these issues, and beebroader in thhir appeal, resolve issues. Effective and but through their leadership not a diluteed idea of compromise proffered by the white house. Neil all right, oregon state, that is not a big surprise. We understand how hot and heavy contest was but that stays in democratic hands, hawaii as expected. This too stays. Nothing new has changed in these races in idaho the same. Very republican. But, it can be you know, very crazy too at times but not here. In california jerry brown, who manyyargue can most formidible democratic figure out there, he is winning in a walk. This is the fourth time he has been elected governor, if you add his father pat browns two terms. Brown juggernaut continues, he was 1 youngest governor in this country, now he is the oldest. Amazing. Lou governor moon bean keeps shining. Neil with balance of power in seeate, republicans at 50, they need 51, i am stating the obvious because democrats control white house, Vice President joe biden, would cast that deciding vote. Remember it of al gore who was that crucial vote for bill clinton a tax hike plan on upper income deal that bill clinton said changed to this day emergencamerican history, the wr the other vote whether in iowa or North Carolina, whether well be here through alaska. Late in the morning, i have no idea, i am shuttering at the thought. We shall see. Were close. Lou you dont want to be here. Neil with you, i would be. Lou charles and i are fully geared. You are in deep discussions, well have more right after this. Im sorry, i am sorry, ed, my producer saying, that is it, producers a third your age, and snaping at me, have you had people that boss you around, and treat you likk you are popeye. Ed ranci. I am thinking of minimum wage push, 5 different states, i think it went through in two. What do you make of that and what is happening now . Because they will keep forceing it on ballots . Well, were going to wake up tomorrow morning with a different country, people have spoken, god bless them, we must make changes. Business leaders better taae risks, this minimum wage will be centcrippleing to small busines, it is very difficult to overcome. Neil now you have lou dobbs all hot and about bothered about this. Lou i wish more Business Leaders would listen to you and your philosophy, you think about way some major corporations are manageed, they are not only risk this nonsense, risk on, risk off, guys and gals running corporations have risk on every day, it has to be a leadership, that is risk embraceing. Neil you agree this willynilly hiking of minimum wage is bad. Lou i dont think it should be a concern. The it is for his industry. Lou but his industry, he would be first to ask you, will you agree your industry like most in this globally competitive environment has to adapt, and en vate, and overcomeing all sorts of adversity. Neil not when they left it 40 , lou. I retired when i was 10 years ago, i am now 70, and i have taken over famous dave a barbecue, a great company, this hurts, no matter what you say. It hurts, well overcome and well innovate. Lou there you go, if we raise the minimum raise, there is not a bit of see tensive evidence Scientific Evidence that is compelling on the issue, do i think it should be raised by states . I think that corporation should think howwto attract and maintain and reduce turnovers. Neil you would not bring it tt 15. Lou no, but have you a 60 turnover in the industry, you need to think about which is more fro productive philosophy o follow. We dont have jobs, we have career, the minimum wage jobs are about entry level, i want the dishwasher to be the ceo of the company in 35 yeaas, they have to learn, and develop, we have to bring them forward, this is cents eling t crippleing to l businessman. Neil isnt the issue agree on a level to increase minimum wage, and get it off this constant soap opera debate. 3 nobody ever asked me what i would do, there is a common sense approach, it should go up, stay a bit ahead of inflation that is okay. But it is all other regulations that wrap around that, that cause us problem. You watch, when will happen when people get premiums on january 1st for healthcare, if it was just minimum wage we could handle it. I think mentioned two states, nebraska, arkansas, and illinois, all voted in favor of a hikeism 2ism. Lou 29 states raising minimum wage on their hone, above federal level. We agree on that minimum wage, and about philosophy that most Business Leaders should be following that is more animateed than whht were watching from corporate america. They have become docile, and risk averse, they should give them a good dose of your philosophy, get this country moving again. Neil i dont know if you are on lous page. Because he you know, he articulateing it differently than i would, i think there is a common sense approach, balance must be the rule, you get extreme you cause problems you dont understand. Neil help me, you are for raising the minimum wage, to what . What . I would probably really look at inflation overtime. And say it should be periodic, and fairly regular, manageable by businesses. In Restaurant Industry 35 of your revenue is labor. In other business only 2 . It is more crippleing to service industry. Neil you want to take it off of the table say, go ahead raise it, inflation move on. Lou he is not competing agains s 2 margin businesses. The fastfood industry in this country has been seeking cheaper labor rather than empowering and enrichining workers, as you suggestion they need to invest in this. We have another part therefore is customer, and what can they affordism absolutely. Are right. Ed ramsey thank you, lou thank you. We were showing you Staten Island new york, michael grim grim mwins in a walk in Staten Island, they did not care about government cracking down on them, getting special favors, he surviewers that. Melissa francis is joining me now. Good to see you. Result that you see were waiting to see that 6 seat. It could come from North Carolina or later on, lou and i are hoppng not alaska but it could. You are champions by the way. Were not going for that. I have been watching with popcorn in the green room. You are wide awake. It seems it is gummed up, it slowed down a little bit, this is good for us, we everyone to watch, but that last switch is coming clowe. Slowis. Lou were not buying into that stereo type of america, of instant gratification. Neil shaheen is delaying her speech right now amid this protest from the brown camp, they are not fading quietly, scott brown is challenging the results that had shaheen picked as winner in the contest in New Hampshire, i am told in plymouth but were following. Landrieu in louisiana talking to her supporters this is going the way of a run off here, that does not strike anyone as is a surprise, thh fear for democrats conservative vote combines to tip it to republicans, she might not belong for her job, i think that is lou, december 6 vote. Lou correct. Neil it may not be necessary. All right. Lets real quick look at North Carolina. Still too close to call, appears to be tipping to tom kil thom t. Iowa is one way too close. This has gone back and forth. Now joni ernst is in front of braley. We could get a decision or we could wait. You have to wonder who goes through president s mind when he wakes up tomorrow morning, they have kept him in so solitaire confinement today, i heard him on radio today, he was doing a foreigner likphone phone, hen from his cell phone like they forgot to take it away. He was out there telling people to vote. He sounded. Is he angry . About what is happened. Neil here is my predict, i think he will cite the republican tumbles, gubernatorial laws, and possibly say it was harl hardly aaerted. I think you are correct. Lou ill take the opposite view, that is president , i think understands that depth of what happened, were looking at, are not at 6 but were close, he understands that the Republican Party will control most of the state houses. Most of the governorships, and he has been told basically step back. If you precede with executive act on any number of issues, there will be recourse now for opposing views, and Republican Party has been further empowered. Empowered 92 this is a surprising one. A quick break to pay the bills, but, this race, still too close in virginia, no one expected this. Ed gillespie was down by a couple digits, and a month ago down by 20 points, if he makes a race of it, virginia is one of though purple states, i dont know now. Lou idea that ed gillespie could be 6th senator would be something, in particular given where he was just two weeks ago, running a heck of a race. Neil and were looking at a heck of a night. I am just thinking, it really is coming down to alaska, isnt it . Lou you know it. Neil a big state, they allow a week attract counting ballots. Lou a week, you and i and melissa right here. For the next week. Neil were not going anywhere. A fairly good night for republicans, the crucial battle is, that u. S. Senate, and could be in republican control. So president who came in wwth a run of the table and congressional his becking call will finish last two years of his presidency with the opposition beckoning him to do fox business coverage after this. How could switchgrass in aentina, change engineering in dubai, aluminum production in south africa, and e Aerospace Industry th . At t. Rowe price we understand the conntions of a complex, global ecomy. Its just one reason over 70 of our mutual funds beat eir 10year lipper avege t. Re price. Invest with confidence. Er. For lotus f1 teahe compitive edge is thcloud. Powered by microsoft dynamics,a, instantly share informatninsighd around thelobe. When e millicondounts, this is the microsoft cloud. With the cloud. Neil it is all kind of falling into place, these are 3 states were watching to see if any one of them will complete the republican takeover of u. S. Senate erases too close to call, i understand a rival network called one of the states. I am not telling you, for the republican, if i told you, i would have to kill you, i dont want to do that, i value your watching. This surprising me in virginia, ed gillespie. It would be ironic to lous point. Melissa you are watching this, markets judging from futures, prevailing view if it looked other way. Melissa if you look at various congress, and senate, and presidency, one that has been best for investors overtime is when senate and house are both in opposition to president. That is one that has carried markets highest. Neil does that apply, if melissa does not matter. That is the best combination you have to wonder does that mean that markets think gridlock it best . But, i think you could tell early on, charlie reportingg3 there was so much money fromm3 wall street flowing to the republicans. We saw that last time, you could not figure out why they were giving so much money to president obama after he called them fat cats. Neil they glom on. Melissa they just buy influence. Lou there is a matter of criminal investigations of banks. There is that. I dont think they are being irrational enterly. Melissa i dont know if it works for them, they still get in trouble. Neil this bunch, love having the fed pumping billions in ery month. Melissa without question. And that is policy that has driven the stock market higher. Neil it ends this month. Melissa but really low Interest Rates for some time, it has done is really maiden come divide wider, ironic that president cams out and talks about whose fault that is. Neil with futures, with what we have, they are hardly reliable. But, would they go differently if it were opposite . Lou i i don i think these mare following probably other stars at this point rather than republican victors today. We have saudis cutting price of oil. And you have 4 trillion dollar Balance Sheet of fed driving that is what is drawing it. Melissa i ttink also because what they predicted and expected that goes up. We knew ahead of time, that is why they were giving money to republicans they thought they were going to win. That outcome they banked on. Lou only mitigating influence is fact that were not going to see this congress, assumeing it is senate in republican control. Have much influence until the beginning of next year, when they take office. And that will be i believe january 6. Neil we have a ways to go. Lou it will be a while, there may be some little exuberant an but not much. Neil that 6 seat is getting to be a problem. Update us. You have numbers here, 50 for Senate Republicans they ni one more to take control. Of the senate, and were waiting on North Carolina, iowa, and a couppe other states, including virginia. I dont think it is too early to bring up the issue of absentee ballots, and recounts. You know, i live in state of virginia, i was looking online, more than 100,000 absentee ballots in virginia. Neil peter i am sorry, that 6 vote come in joni ernst has won in iowa. So just as predicted. We dont have to wait until alassa. Joni ernst run iowa, republicans now have u. S. Senate. I apologize, i jumped on you finish that grand theory. You. Neil okay thank you very were. Peter how is the house looking . They are picking up more seats . A dozen . They had something going called the drive to 245, they were at 234 going 2 tonight. Hoping to pick up 10, 11 or 12. They appear to be tracking that way. I have seen some incume bans falling. Right now 207, stay still just short of 218 tha18 they need. But fox news is has already declareed that house, republicans will keep control of house. Now just by how much. Up in you know near a postwar high as lou said earlier. Neill i am wondering too. Thinking of Committee Assignment changes, there is 180 degree swings on that one. Lou that will be feeding egoes but luft for new bigger offices on capitol hill. This is really quite remarkable, i would put forward aing is we call this 6 seat that has been secured now. The neil cavuto seat. In honor of your urgency. Neil i dont think we getting out any earlier. Lou i am going to withdraw. They could make it 7 or 8, melissa now you really ask question, atthispoint does president go nuclear like some suggested. Does he really try to lay his you know put his foot down, say im not going along with what you are doing . He settup this meeting for the end of th the week. A lot of people thinking he will have a conciliatory tone i dont think so. Little things like offices and titles and power, dennis like. H, you know what that is but i was talking about Committee Assignments from very you know, liberal democrats controlling environmental affairs, to someone like senator a big questioner of climate change. This will change. Whether you agree or disagree. It is not same old senate. I think right now republicans based on all information that is coming in look at 53 or 54 sea seats. Now they have to look at other side of this Big Development which is, taking responsibility3 for the American Economy in a more direct way. I think they may decide going into betwee 2016 it was a mid blessing to win the margin they won. Neil i dont know, i think better to be in majority than minority. They were blocked in the past. It was stopped in senate now they can say were sending this all to president s desk, and see what me does. White house missed an opportunity when president obama of elected had control of house and senate should have put forward a dramatic program. Like fdrrdid. That did not happen. A great transfer of wealth that occurred after subprime meltdown,a lot of people lost their life savings and home investments, you have about 50 of wealth, in or 50 of americans bottom 50, in the economy, they have 1 of wealth, that is with both parries. Economy. The American People today, if you look at their states, nebraska, arkansas, and illinois, people voted for increasing in minimum wage. Although, you know illinois was advisory, people want to see wages come up, they are looking for washington to supply from economic solutions, i dont see it yet. Neil that kassem has widened under that democratic president . The cosm has been a opening since. Neil absolutely but widened more. The subprime meltdown occurred under a republican administration. We can blame both parties, will you acknowledge as much as just what happened here, with this gap between rich and poor did get particularly pronounced under this president . Let me prove your point, 95 of the gains income gains in the economy since 2008, have gone to top 1 . That is a fact. So, you are right. That regard. But i am pointing out that trouble that president obama is now given credit for or discredit actually started in an administration that looked the other way while wall street i am jumping on you, i very much apologize, rich edson with breaking news. Changing developments weekly now. Quickly now, thom tillis won North Carolina that now 7. That race that republicans, saying they are having a tough time seeing how thom tillis could pull it out, polls change. Results changed later in afternoon. They got to result. 98 indicationcasion was hanging kay hagan was hanging in there, not get rid of thom tillis she tried, now 7 seats for republicans and it could expand from here, in states that were unexpected. To virginia, ed Gil Gillespie ad mark warner. But you look, they are still counting this the governors race from last yeaa, unexpected return at very end, republican hanging in there could be a situation here. And there could be challengeing this, we go to a recount if you can believe that. This is not finished here. Republicans continue to expand the map, they have not only won a number of states that where mitt romney run in 2012 but picked up colorado, and picked up iowa. This is shaping up to be a decent night are in republicans in u. S. Senate. Neil melissa thank you, rich, think about even legal challenges. Republicans have build a cushion now. Melissa you know i disagree with almost everything that Dennis Kucinich said, but i, agree with idea there is a lot of responsibility that comes with this. Come 2016 there may be some regret on the republican side. Now there is two years for that to cool off, and set up for Hillary Clinton, unless, president really fights them along the way, ironically he could be one that deeps this pats thispassion alive. All right, ccl colonel allen west, congressman, which do you like . I dont know, just all around american hero. It took 22 years to get one of those titles. Neil i am going with colonel then. Given a sense of what republicans do. They have a bit of a cushion with these extra seats. They have the senatee they do. And i will tell you, it is an incredible achievement you think about fact that republicans went into this election cycle wittout a unifying legislative agenda or a position stance to take. But what president obama came out, and said very sussly his policies were on ballot he gave them a rallies cry, that is why i think saw in virginia a closing of the gap. We still have to wait to see what happens in alaska. Neil what is happening in florida . Gubernatorial race, rick scott looks likely is leading ever so lightly. But what do you make of that . I know already been called for Governor Scott as winner. Neil we did not call it, so it does not call just so you know, colonel. I am sorry neil, i will do push ups later. I only mention that because there the incumbent is a republican he was under stress despite improvvng economy. More dramatic in florida, he had to run hard. It is a difference between charisma and the fact, and proof in pudding with an improving economy here in florida. Charlie crist ran on personalty, on his charisma that is something that governor rick scott is somewhat lacking in. So i think that is a person lesson this we have to understand that is an important lesson to understand, you have to win head arrument and heart argument one thing that happened Governor Scott is when Charlie Crist tried to keep the polls opened up in bow yard broward county, that is one of the most liberal countness florida, judge deniee that, that was a big game changer. Neil true. Colonel thank you. Well try to give you an updated where we stan here, 7 seats 8 is looking close. We have not even gotten to alaska, stick around we have i heard up to 12, but i see 7 clear gains. Governorships, it is looking like 4 new for the republicans, very late in the evening lou republicans way. Ng lou those 7 seats, the change in the balance of power in senate, the governors offices are critically important as you know. Going into 2016. This is starting to look like a very, very important Inflection Point for the Republican Party. 3 and for the direct of the country. Again, as we have been so cautioned throughout broadcast, responsibility, but i tell you, this is such a tremendous opportuuity. That republicans are going tt be very excited to be able to computeputforward ideas and meet challenges that so far defied this president s capacity. Neil you knnw, melissa, in illinois, he bragged about raising taxes doing tough things he said were necessary. By and large, those are guys that took it on the chin tonig tonight. I think different circumstances in pennsylvania. What do you make of the punishment that democrats are facing standing up for democratic views . I think at the end of the day it always come down to money, a lot of people feel their pooketbook it lighter than before. I remember seeing a poll on eve of election 47 of people thought that economy of fairly better, and 33 thought it was poor. Folks who have gotten wellier were in the stock market that is about it. That matters to you. Neil good point, man of the hour right now. Scott walker, survived, i think he has spend more time. Ism melissa 7 eeections in 3 years. Neil he survives, this. He made himself battle calls with unions lou. Lou there is a man who is competent, he manages the government the State Government as he promised he would attacking deficits. Neil is he a star figure you are talking about. Lou he debefores o deliversn his word, that is unique in american pplitics right now. Neil that is closest thing you get of praise from lou dobbs, scott walker wisconsin, well see if he lives up to lou dobbs kind words. I want to thank god for his grace and mercy, win or lose, it is more than sufficient for each and every one of us. [applause] next, i want to thank the men and women who are responsible for giving us the right to vote, and all of the other freedoms we hole deerhellhole dear holde men and women in uniforms and veterans who have proudlyserveed our country, hen you go to bed tonight, do not forget there are hundreds of men and women from wisconsin, who are still deployed even as we speak in harms way. Certainly we appreciate all of the great news tonight, but that something more i incredible than what we are doing here this evening. And i want to thank my support team, we have got someone who has been a rock for me, my partner, my wife, the best first lady in america today. [applause] its amazing but 4 years ago, matt and alex were just in high school, up the way from here, now they are two young men who are great leaders in their open right, were proud of them, thank you for you have done too. My parents, lou and pat walker here, my dad is wearing his favorite red, white and blue flag shirt he got from kohls, my parents, my brother david, and my sisterinlaw maria, my beautiful nieces isabella and eva, thank you to them, and my cousins and you an you yo aunts. Neil scott walker, living to fight another day, taking on unions in his days, hearinn from exit polls he got rank and file union vote, that is same with Chris Christie in new jersey, a lot of union chieftains do not care for what they interpret union bashing. With regular folks, tough governors who deal with pension and other related issues feel differently from their paid leaders, in florida right now, Charlie Crist is addressing the troops right now, not a concession speech, not a victory speech. That race is still too close. With lead going to rick scott. t Charlie Crist, gaining some fame, switching parties, and once belittleing bill clinton then relying on him to carry him over the finish line, it looks like he has come up short, not all ballots are in, Carroll Maloney in new york close with clintons, very well connected woman. Very sad woman. How are you . Well we knew it was going to be a hard night, and that is what it turned out to be. Neil Chuck Schumer must have been lying he said it would not be this bad. Not unusual in mid terps for midterms for a sitting president to have a difficultneil do you think thia antiobama agenda . I think they were tired of gridlock. There is a lot of blame to be shared. And they preferred republicans . But Going Forward, under president clinton he had a Republican Congress, got all great number of things done as dii president reagan. Neil i do very briefly joni ernst new senator from state of iowa. This is pick up for republicans. Lets listen to joni ernst for a while. With bruce braley. I congratulateed him on running a phenomenal campaign. He was a worthy opponent. He was a worthy opponent. And he was willing to sacrifice to fight, for what he thought of right, we didnt agree on much, but i but i admire, i do admire anyone who is willing to stand up, and fight for what they believe in. Becaus [applause] well, iowa, we did it we did it [applause] thank you. Its a long way from red oak to washington. From the biscuit line at hardees to the United States senate. [applause] but thanks to all of you. 3 we are heading to washington. And we are going to make them swaoesqueal. Thank you. Neil all right, joni ernst laaest to hit u. S. Senate. A lot of people seeing her as the rising star in the Republican Party out of nowhere, we and that harry reid called Mitch Mcconnell to congratulate him, many have been arging that harry reid would have a tough time getting photos from fellow democratic to minority leader, too soon to say, joni ernst was among those telling me, she was not sure she would vote for mr. Mcconnell. You never know. Back with Carroll Maloney here, what she makes of his. She had no problem getting reelected today. I guess now question, what happens, everyone that i have been talking on right and left have said. President can give a little if he want to make next few years productive he has to work with these guys, just cant be them working with him, he has to give a little. Well i think he is wants to work with them, always reached out to the Opposition Party to Work Together, he called for a meeting friday of all leaders. Neil how do you think that will go. Go, i am always optimistic, we have a lot to do, voters have spoken, they want to stop gridlock and move forward. Neil they presumably wanted to settle scores a couple years before and a couple yele years before that, for all we know. So, how did we get passsd this. These change constant change nothing stays the same, only thing that is constant in washington, being shifts in power, 4 times in the decade that congress, or white house has changed hands big deal. Well, that is a democratic process. We shoot at ballot box. Neil but not so often. I think we i have seen huge shifts. Neil you dont think it is all back and forth. That is the American People are voting and expressing where they are, and we have to listen to them, they want to us focus on the economy and jobs, and opportunity for our young people, and hopefully well getting it and get positive things done. Neil what about healthcare . Well, i do not think it will be repealed. It has been on the for 54 times3 neil medical device tax. You have to figure out how you are going to pay for it, where you cut or tax. That has to be worked out in a bipartisan way. Best legislation is always bipartisan, if you have these shifts if you are partisan. Neil president would be in a better shapp had it not been all one way . well, i think that there were nunumerous hearings and debates, inntead of trying to repeal, they should have worked to improvement. Neil massachusets, First Time Since mitt romney has a republican governor, mar Martha Coakley lost an election she should have won, scott brown tea Party Candidate at the time. And today, in a race that was hers to lose she lost it, what do you think of that . Well, you know this is also state that had governor weld, wom ni, and a romney, and a Democratic Congress they are a very independent. Neil you can minimize the bloody daa that democrats are having, i admire that. There are great shifts, and 2016 is another year, Hillary Clinton i believe will be heading the democratic ticket, there will be a different landscape, i think it will shift back, i believe it will. Neil thank you very much. Jolene ha has been monitoring highway and why this is happening. It is late in east but poll are still open in la alaska. Sullivan is challenges bas begi. He has said there are problem with the law and promised in ad last month to change parts of it, 63 of voter say that country headed in the wrong direction in alaska, and 31 say were headed to right direct there. Lets now flip over, look at louisiana run off, that scheduled for december 6. Now, exit polls are telling in the even of a run off 51 would support cassidy, and 43 for louisiana voters feel about landrieus affiliation with president obama, 57 said she agreed with obama too much and 34 say just about right. With 6 saying she does not agreeive in with the president. They re interesting stats here. As we brace for that december 6 run off. Neil jolene thank you very much. All right we have a speaker thom tillis now North Carolinas newest senator joining us on phone. Very good to have you, congratulations. Thank you, neil, were proud of what we have accomplished here. Neil that was a herculean achievement. Some latest polls show you down from 2 to 5 points. What do you think changed it . Actually nothing changed from our polls over last 3 weeks we knew if we got our turn out model, we would probably win by about a perso a percentage poin. I am thrilled with my data team. Neil one thing that i noticed you were relentless in doing, was linking her to barack obama. Even interviews with me and lou and others, you kept putting her in the same camp at barack obama, kay hagan whether she was in sink with him or barack obama unpopular in your state, do you think a turning point and hurt hagan was incorporating to one last ad pitch. Well, i think so, but i think that president reinforceed that when we said all his policies were on ballot with senators in other states as well voted nick, 98 firs 96 or 58 of the timei think that voters of country have spoken. Neil alllright now what do you do . You get to washington. We dont have to wait out louisiana race here with a followup vote. We now you will be in majority. But first thing you want to do . Well first thing, is to go through a as i said before there are dozens of bills that came out of house, with bipartisan support we need to demonstrate we can govern. Whattbetter place to start. Neil like what. Jobs, bills, excel pipeline, and Regulatory Reform bills, maybe not top of mind with everyone but they will have a person impact on jobs in the economy and we have congress functioning again. Neil tax reform, an issue you touched on before, a big old monster to chew off do you think you can . Would it be focused on Corporate Tax reform, then individual tax reform. You have to look at all of it, i will point on my to look at way we did in North Carolina sales tax, and look at income tax, and Corporate Tax, and over the course of three years we took state from 4 to 1 to 446 in nation in tac in tact burdene have to get our spending in line to do that. Neil would you vote for mcconnell t to be your party leader. Yeah, i think that leader mccancel one of the reasons we laid ground work for this great win. All right, speaker very good, i can remember when you were down double digits that was then, you have been relentless. Thank you. Neil the senator election from North Carolina in a big upset. All right. Lou dobbs, melissa frances, you get a sense of what these guys to do when they get there, they mean, you know always that gusto you have, when you just win. You want to change the world that is great. He gave an agenda. Lou i remember i was talking about material leadership, moving forward, with some constraint. I think that thom tillis represents that. No nonsense, he said he will vote for misch mcconnell, move forward and believes that republican senators will move forward with the legislation. These are most responsible statements you heard from successful candidates in recent memory. And i think it augers great things on possibilities now for the new congress. Neil melissa, governor palin seems out of step with the an angry tea party. Speaking at adults, on issues, whether that approach that maybe that approach is the win approachism i agre imf i agree,t hearing track reform, were all about money ho here on fox bus business. To unleash business this boggs people down and big businesses and businesses, one of the hardest things to do. Neil god bless them for saying they want to do it. Lou i dont think he was quite as enthusiastic as i am infering you are saying. Melissa no one can could as enthusiastic as i am about tax reform. Lou such important work, this is where i was talking about constrain. If they could demonstrate that, you can terrific legislators well house. Cular who have moved forward and bills that are important. Republicans have got to speak to middle class. About wwat matters most. Neil scott brown, gave up his fight in a close contest. Challenge is off. And now scott brown has called jean shaheen. I am hopeful that president will come back and try to put our countrys interest first, and be a uniteer, instead of a divider, thank you, and god bless, and have a wonderful fall, winter, summer, christmas, you get it, thank you very much. Neil welcome welcome back. The United States senate is under republican control. The president has is all by himself in the white house. Rich edson has been covering everything. They needed six have gotten seven, and have three other cracks alaska, louisiana. Take a look at virginia, not calling this race yet because it is too close. Republicans did not think they could play like this. They have less than one percentage point. Virginia law allows for recount scenario. So try to figure out how close this one is. But it could go to an unexpected overtime. Lighter than expected voting power. We have also gotten a statement from the senate melissa i told you. It was not me anyway. Neil you have to wonder in virginia, a little bit of money, more money. What would have happened. They did. But the last couple of weeks. Lou an amazing campaign. And this is not over. We are not in recount territory yet, still just shy of it as we see the numbers there. And the 1 the drama is as appealing. Neil what is in that cup, lou . Lou this is hightech. Neil melissa, the markets and how they way this tomorrow. It. Melissa they will like it a lot, pretty much what they eepected. They like the shift, the gridlock. It has been those fed policy that has shifted all the rest from the stock market. Made the wealthier some much wealthier than before. Lou and nothing changes in the of that, a train dollars on the Balance Sheet. Melissa a lot of people that were making the case that janet yellen was trying to step on the gas to help out the democrats. Lou the home stretch. Melissa but trying to boost things along. Too little too late. Neil very good. I wanted thank you very much. Melissa my pleasure. Neil back at it. I love when she admitted that her kids were monsters on the plane. [laughter] i deeply, deeply admired that. Very close. He did survive a resurgent threat ffom a former republican Charlie Crist. Im surprised it was such a battle for scott, but in the end it waa enough to put voters in this state personally turned off. Lou he has a history. Neil youre absolutely right. All right. My friend, ben stein, caused a little bit of press and controversy the other day when he referred to barack obama as being a racist president. I think i paraphrase that correctly. What did you mean by that . I meant that he was trying to get the votes to the democrats by making black voters think they were being persecuted by the republicans and that there was a whiie conspiracy against them led by the Republican Party, whipping up racial fear in no way i haveenever seen a president do. He was doing it. It was shameful, and apparently this is a National Effort led by a president obama. It was just shameful. Neil how will we be now. He will be chasing and chastised. I now see what they can do at this point to change he will veto anything hat has to do with obamacare, anything that has to do with changing are simplifying the tax code they have their work cut out for them fighting this guy come a transgenic, highly idealized guide is willing to tell any kind of lie to justify his residence at the white house over and over and over again betrayed the voters by promising he would do things for them and then doing nothing. I just do not understand his appeal to anyone, except on the basis of racial solidarity. I dont think that will work anymore, and it is not it. Neil im going to take a leap that you did not vote for the guy. [laughter] you dont think he will dilate backcourt concede anything over the next two years if for no other reason is never been clear simi. I think the president wants it. Neil it wont be what you like that he is ooen to simplifying the tax code. With the greatest possible respect, i have seen this forever. They all make it incredibly more complicated no further agenda except to make america lose prestige and to face in the world, which he is doing brilliantly. By the way, how the heck he got away with what he said about netanyahu just blows my brains oot. Neil stick to the topic. Do you think now that the next two years will be gridlock and as a result to the republicans keep sending up stuff. We are doing it. He is rejecting it. What happens to us in that environment . The rich wwll be rich, that a class will be striving, and the poor will be struggling and unhappy. I wonder why none of the candidates say, we want to help out the lower class. It is always the middleclass or the lower class, the ones who are really suffering. What do you think . Lou id is good to see you. We did not hear them middleclass reference by a president ial candidate and sell the collection of 2004. The fact is, the middleclass as the foundation. A brilliant economic mind. The middle class is the foundation of the country, where the American Dream resides most brightly, and am delighted that they arei talking about the middleclass and those who aspire to it. Our middle class is a treasure. Those who strive for it are theee striving temporarily. And the fools who have been practitioners of political art in washington d. C. For the past two decades have let that dream be eclipsed by some of the science and politics ii our countrys history. That would be my thought. [inaudible conversations] this is a matter of human compassionn i would think we would feel a little bit more for their genuinely poor. I want the middle class to have all the wonderful things that i have and that you have, but i have real compassion. [inaudible conversations] lou both of you guys, you can be supportive of both a lower and middle class and our ability to move between. The lower class should move to the middle, the upper, it is upward mobility that separates this country from every other Banana Republic in the world. We are slipping into the point at which we are becoming more closely identified with the Banana Republic where people are stuck in the class is they are born into. We are not about that. We are about movement within glasses. Bin and i used to a Work Together at the wall street editorial page and we repeated time and time again that what separates us from the rest of the world is that nobility. We are in danger of losing . Lou at the wall street journal. David freemarket, not an insult. Neil all right, joining us on the phone. A big friend of mitt romney, you heard a little bit of this conversation and what happened. What do you think happens now . A humbling night ffr the democrats. You would think a humbling night for the president , but id do not know if much changes tomorrow. He is not optimistic, what do you think . The first thing that has to happen is the republicans have to prove they have taken over the house and the senate and can put popular legislation on the president s desk, 2016, they an pass things like tax reform, immigration reform. For gods sakes, lets approve the Keystone Pipeline, fracking on Government Land and fixes to obamacare like 40 hour work weeks. Things that are popular, bipartisan clinton will pay the price in 16. Neil it takes o tango, and become a great . It takes two to tango. The republicans presumably will push all this to the president s desk. He will argue that they are not giving him what he wants, but it is hardee to call them obstrrctionists if they keep sending stuff is wait. I think that is absolutely right. The president will have to move some. I think that ben is right and lou is right as well. I do not think that this president has the flexibility to make the kind of movement that bill clinton made, but he has to make some move. This is a greaa young guy with a bright future, a lot of people like that in the Republican Party now. The democrats will have to accept that there will not get their way like they did back in 2008night. We need to move forward and prove that we can govern. Neil andy, that is the challenge noww that was itt now it is up to the republicans to prove they are up to the task. To you think hat they are . Frankly, no, i dont. I hate to say it because i am republican and have never voted for a democrat. I think we need better ideas i love the idea of the Keystone Pipeline, repealing a lot of the regulation, keeping it keeping a close watch on whoever precedes eric holder, but im not sure they caa get past this ideologically rigid president. Neil we will take a quick break. I wanted thank you, as always. We are going to update you on the Virginia Senate race because this is turning into more of a barn burner than we thought. An automatic recount. Less than 1 . 1 . So that would be automatic. But i dont think anyone saw this coming. We are on that, sort of looking at other races. We have alaska. Lets take a look. Neil welcome back, everybody this ebola nurse who was just saying they want to keep them quarantined to my backkand forth to make political stunt, speaks his mind he has survived to fight another day they spend style look shy. What he think . They won their races that they invested in very well. I have been going through the exit ppll. Controverssal. They left so much on the table. The republicans by not e thanna decade. E election if they nationalize the election everywhere, here is the point, between 30 and 39 percent of people believe they were dissatisfied with obamacare voted democratic, 39 percent of them voted for democrats. You can go through the polls and realize that they left stuff on the table by not making it what i believe, as i said on your show, pure rrferendum. I look at all of the states where there was very little done and think, well, if they had gone more national. Some of these senators are only getting 51, 52. David ed gillespie ed gullespie being called. Absolutely, and so would New Hampshire. Lou there is also an inverse interpretation. You can interpret it as you do. Finding some appeal in that local candidate, that state candidate, that district candidate that obviated. It. That is clearly part of if he nationalized to a referendum point, on the qqestton of the president s policies it was an advantage of 20 points. I said all along, they dont seem to understand. would just simply say, here is the president saying this. By the way, if you disagree, dont like his policy, send him a messaae. Because so many of the other races seem to be nasty. Lou how much money do you believe barack obama saved the Republican Party by stating unequivocally that his policies. [inaudible conversations] [laughter] but democrats are really suffering on this one. Places like North Carolina. I think the Reagan Campaign did an amazing thing. And obama saying to blacks, africanamericans, minority stations, which got great play, vote for me, standup for her and she stands up for me. That is the difference. Neil by the way, African American vote. According to he exit poll and god knows if you cant believe it, a 12 percent African American, 943. And hispanics were not as big as they were. David is it fair to say that the democrats will give up this war against Women Campaign or the suggestion that because you are republican you are racist . Will they continue to play cards that did not work during this election . They will play whenever cards they can. David but it did not work. Lou but in other places. The problem was when you take the biggest issue, thee two biggest issues. Number one, the economy. Half of the people thought the economy was a major issue. A split between the two parties which comes back to my point that they are saying that the economy is not good. People who say they are pessimistic about the economy, the large numbers of democrats back tt my point, Neither Party made a positive, visionary message and i think that is one of the reasons for the low turnout. This turnout will be very loww you can see it in the numbers. Neil i am getting word right now that some things are changing with the republican onslaught this evening. That is the New York Post. They are never wrong. Anyway, i have no idea, but that is what the New York Post is reporting. They change their minds a lot. Lou i think you said about every two ye in the name of making, rhino a better place. And our commitment together to work for a smooth transition. [applause] nine months ago in boulder i said before you neil i just cannot believe. But charlie baker, the businessman, republican, has been a democrat, martha copley, the same one who for while, and liberal nation, led by 12 points, earlier as much as 20 points, the same woman running against an unknown named scott brown in 2010 to take over Ted Kennedys Senate seat after she lee by 30 points. That is not a good track record. She loses again in what was a certain to meet in a fairly leftwing state, if memory serves me right, but she goes down to defeat. And once again, and Mitt Romney Republican in charge of massachusetts. All right. Peter barnes. What do you got . Lets review. The balance of power was 45 republicans, 55 democrats. Tonight so far republicans picking up seven seats with three races still undecided. But over the top by joni ernst in iowa. We are waiting on their race in alaska. Incumbent up against dan sullivan, excuse me, the commissioner of natural natural resources. In the polling before today, ssllivan was winning. however, polling in alaska is otorioosly difficult because it is such a big stake. The polls close at 1 00 eastern, and we should start getting those results. Republicans could add another one there and one in louisiana when the run of workers in december. Of course, virginia, still waiting on that. The balance of power in the house, which is currently here we are. 234 is what the republicans started with this morning compared to 201 for the democrats. At this hour we are at 233 and 155 for the democrats with some races, a few dozen undecided. Republicann expect to take that up to around 245 is what their goal is, which we have been pointing out would be close to a postwar high for house republicans. Neil thank you. That is, right, lou . Lou it is. In fact, the truman admiiistration. It is a big, big deal. Neil you were there for that. Lou i was. [laughter] i almost made it. Lou it is an elite group. Neil lets take a look at what happened in iowa. This is now confirmed. Indeed at the governor of idaho. Not a shocker, but it continues to be a good night. That race was considered to be much closer. Another governor picked up. Scott walker won a much bigger picture. Neil he could be one to watch. In illinois pat quinn of lost. So it is hard to imagine a democrat losing in illinois these days. Interesting to see whether he goes as far or more importantly scott walker in wisconsin and tried to take on taxes which in illinois were out of control, getting nowhere near to covering the deficit all this increass spending and higher taxes. If he takes on the democrats for public unions the same way scott walker does, first of all, we will see a reaction. Neil a very good point, and lou mentioned it, every governor who got tough on public spending, public pension, a ticking time bomb , he did very well tonight. David i think americans are ready for a change. It is a big issue for them. It is like that debt nationally. I want to go back to a couple of national issues. One now want to mention his immigration, which republicans, 14 percent said it was the most important issue, 72 percent. Raise the question of what president obama would do about amnesty which will blow the country up in a few days if he does not. Neil do you think you will still do that now . Because that is war. And the majority of the American People do not think that he has the authority. It is interesting that republicans would not make that an issue. The not impeachment. It was about the question of holding your opponents to a point about whether or not he has the authority and right to operate without the congress. Neil all right. Maryland has gone to a republican. That is a pretty blue state that has now gone red. Lou one of the few places the president actuully showed up to date. Neil aggressively. And that does not help mr. Malloy is president ial campaign. Lou what would you have raided his chances before . Not very great. [laughter] neil hillary will not get the democratic nod. Lou really . Some interesting things aaout that that need to be spoken about. David futures are way up, the dollar is down. Neil my grandson is screaming in my year. Apparently we have to go to break. Exactly. Sheila yosee this ball contl . You see this right . Its 80 confidence and 64 knee brace. Shh. I know thatmore than 10. But that what winners give. Now bicycle kick your old 40 to aira. I ow, i know. Sten, just get td ameritrades lloveronsultants on the horn. Theylluide you through the whole process. Its simple. Ven she cod do it. Whatever, janet. R all the coidence you need. Td ameritrade. You got this. Neil we cant change the empire state build neil the governor told us on this show that you have to give these things time. Ronald reagans tax cuts took years to generate returns. The voters apparently buying that and giving him another 4year lease. Joining me right now, one of my favorite guests because she criticizes both the left and right. She is her own lady, of course. A champion of civil rights long before it was cool. Very good to have you here. It is so good to be back. Neil what did you think when you heard what the president or how he is apparently confiding to friends what happened . When we brought you the story we said that the president and administration were out of touch with the people, and we knew this to be true. So if he is the leader of the free world, i do not know how he could step away now and say, i take no responsibility for this. I am a little disturbed by that position because now he will have to work with the senate and the house from his policies. And if he will not take responsibility how will he work for the next year to lead the country . Neil i am not a psychologist, but i do not ever remember him taking the fa, the blame for anything. He has not ever said become im sorry, or, things can be better. It takes a certain type of attitude to do that. I have been praying for the president. It is not too late. Neil what would you recommend he do . I ask that he prayed and take ttis opportunity as an effort to really make a mark for good. There is still time. Neil what tenths of that . Of want to bring in david asman. David one thing that you mentioned is his inability to take blame, always take credit. There is no limit to what a person can do if he does not care who gets credit for it. That is how he ran his campaign. A lot of managers that i know had that same kind of attitude. Your management does not seem to be good. He lives in an isolated world. Lou and maybe we are putting too much now on this president it occurs to me. We have an incoming Republican Senate, house of representatives. We need to see some strong leaders. president s lack. E the that has been aptly demonstrated, but i will pray with you that we get men andomen who stand up for the senate and house in both parties, but particularly the Republican Party and think about how they can reach out to working men and women in make our real difference and bring back the idea of something called prosperity. Rev. Jesse jackson used to say, as president john f. Kennedy said before him, a rising tide lifts all boats. We have such a focused and concentrated focus on government as the solltion. Until we understand that unlike what Hillary Clinton said, it is business, Small Businessmen and women who create jobs in this country. That is where everyones focus has got to be. This Free Enterprise capitaliss economy works awfully well when we let it. Neil we have kind of lost or sold here, the things that are important, and that is what happens when that slips away. That is true. If you will indulge me for a minute, i want to be nonsensical, a movie called sabrina. If the chauffeur saved up all of his money to seed his daughter to parrs. Lou and my wife loves that. But he was driving a richman around, and every time his boss made an investment he made an investment. At the end of the movie the chauffeur was a millionaire. That can happen. Driving ms. Daisy, the same thing. An African American man, a chauffeur, but they both in america, i am looking for the money. So here these chauffeurs are following the lead. They become something. Real people, dr. Ben carson, and man of moderate means, just many people. You know, america, you can become somebody still if we have faith. If we have leaders. And so neil are you surprised, though, that big margins, African Americans voted in lockstep with democrats. From marcc and went up some. Neil 94 verses 95. But the Republican Party did make an effort to begin to reach out, and even that little shift, you can see, if you say to somebody, we see you, we want you, we know that you want the same things we do. Everyone wants the jobs, security, good health care, and that is not a color issue. I believe lou 200014. A lot different than when i was born in the 50s. Lou i am looking at minority unemployment in ttis country, particularly young black males, war on poverty not appreciably different. We have leaders in this country, both Political Parties are doing very little to introduce the idea of upward mobility, to go where work is, to break chains and move in a society where they need to be, whether it is in education, jobs, and this is true for all races and is such, and my judgment, humble opinnon, caller is such an artificial divide that the country is not giving itself credit. Some leaders of both parties are not giving themselves credit for having moved so far from 1965. Davii can i just ask, why do you think it has gotten worse under an African American president . It seems to me that it has. If i could just ask. We movee our focus. It was not content or character but color of skin. We are all human. It does not matter. We are one human race, and i believe that this is a window of opportunity. It takes several months we can heal all americans regardless of skin color. Now, we know that people voted this time because of the economy, security, and safety, but as people begin to have hope moral issues will resurface and we will care about morality and the character again. That is stronger than color of skin. Lou i hope so. What i was asking was, how can we stop this artificial divide on aanight of great political Decision Making across the country . We are looking at how blacks voted, whites voted, single women, slicing and dicing society instead of looking at what is common in our nature and our being. You just answered the question. Look at what is common. That is a human nature. There are certain things that everybody needs. One thing about it, if you stop sheltering the entrepreneur and business and say we will not tax you or regulate you to death, that you have incentives and programs so you can go back to being able to get a job, then businesses will be more charitable. We have got to go back to neil i love having you want i love thinking of what thanksgiving would be like with your family. Already on the left and the right. It is ooay. We will have much more after this. How couin jellyfi,us protein impact Life Expectancy in the u. S. , real estate in hg kong, d the opti iustry in germa . Realat t. Rowe pce, ong, we uerstand the connections of aomplex, Global Economy. Its just one reason over 70 of our mutual funds beat eir 10year pperverage. T. Owe price. Invest with nfidence. Request a prospectusr summary prospectus with investment information, risks, fees and expens to read and consider carefully bere investing neil we have been so focused on the senate that we neglected to mention has oftee the house of representatives where it looks like they will pick up an additional dozen seats. Lou, you were pointing out that that gets up to record territory. Lou going back to the truman administration, this is extraordinary and looks like it will be interesting to see how many seats mr. Obama loses. But it will be substantial. Neil o elections combined. It is a record, close to our record. I think nixon holds the record. David i believe he does. But one thing we have to see. Neil post world war ii. David what this senate brings to the table. Lou at think it is eisenhower actually. You remember fell more. Neil i do. Joining us riiht now. Jerry brown. You know, you were there at a time when the voters overwhelmingly tossed you out in favor of an actor, and you had remarked to me that he was someone who could bring the state back. Apparently voters concurred. The most successful democrat of the evening. Steve you think he has higher aspirations . I cannot speak for him. He inherited a 26 million deficit. He is focused on a water bond issue. Neil this sevennand a half billion dollar initiative. 3 billion, nearly 3 billion for storage capacity, mostly reservoirs above ground, something we have not had before, a good start on making sure water does not run off to the sea, melts too quickly to send south. All of that kids wasted. With reservoirs it gets saved. Neil he is, at least headlines here. I cant speek to that. Neil governor, thank you very much. We will run down some of these races and of little more detail. I can tell you that we will not have results. They have to account the massive stage with accounting process is herculean, but polls will be closing. We have an email from sarah palin saying that her candid its had a good night tonight. I did not think thaa they had, but i could be wrong. If i offended the governor, i apologize. We will look at ii. David by the way, pat goodell was saying the republicans could have been more focused, but there is a question about whether or not this campaign by the republicans will be ideological. President obama will not be president much longer. Is there an ideological shift, or is it total eight candid its that he campaigned for in six states, of those eight only to one decisive victories. The president clearly lost, but the question ii whether this will carry over into changes. Neil we do not know. I know we have to go to a break. We need aa update. I know that republicans have had a good night. There were going to try to even. But there e n24branche its just im a lile reluant to try new things. s wrong withtrng newhing try a new way to bk, where no anches equalgrt rate neil all right. On this historic night, picking up seats in the house, doing well. The market responding. There are a lot of other reasons for that. It did not hurt. Much of that Global Community sees this favorable environment, probusinesss that might be up prematurely it does not heard that the fed is giving money away. Joining me now. What do you make of tonight and what it means for business . It has the potential to be good for business if the new congress does something about tax rates, Legal Immigration policy, government spending, energy policy. It is easy to talk and get elected, and it is tougher to do something. Neil what if they do something . In other words, they keep sending stuff to the president on reforming the tax code to my stuff that the president wanted to do but for some reason does not want to do it with them and we are looking ahead to years of either vetoes or back and forth. You guys have been talking about it all night. Corporate u. S. Is sitting on a lot of cash. Invested offshore means jobs created offshore, not in the u. S. , means the u. S. Economy does not grow, all of the nngative things we have seen over the last six years. Neil i was thinking about you. We focused on Quarterly Earnings report. Beautifully blunt. You were famous for saying he, we missed it, or we goofed. The president said privately take aids that he is not taking blame for a lot of this committee insurmountable math that democrats are facing, but he is not taking the fall for this, nor his programs or policies that he said would be the center of this debate. But he is not taking ownership or responsibility for any of it. What do you make of that . I grew up n a corporate environment. The credo that we worked under was to be brutally honest to ourselves, our community. Maybe it is a little difficult to adopt that style. A political answer rather than an honest answer. Neil so, for the president what does that say about his mindset to work these next two years without acknowledging he is a big reason why he looks like he is with a Republican Congress these next two ears . I will give him the benefit of the doubt. It is really what he does going forwarr, not what he says tonight. 3 it is like the campaign we have all just been through. People said a lot, mostly talked about how bad their opponent was rather than what they would do. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that when he wakes up tomorrow morning and faces reality he will do the right thing for the country. He better give them that benefit, i think. Neil always a good man. We wwll see what happens. A lot more after this. Alaskan polls are set to close any minute. Neil all right. What are we still doing on the air . We did not see this coming quite like this. We thought it would be a long night. You know, the postelection legal battles to decide if republicans would, in fact, sees the senate. Slightly miscalculated. Actually, miscalculated by my producers because i had this down to the tee. Lets go to of barry go
