They can build a ladder out of the dc swamp. The republicans can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. How . Steal a page from the democrats. The democrats do politics and messaging way better. The process is still being driven by politics instead of policy. Democrats have won on both. Look to Hillary Clinton after hillary care failed in the 1990s. The clintons got small reforms like this. Mental health parody act that forced insurers. Hipaa, the patient privacy act and the Childrens Health program that lets parents for the first time let children on medicaid. Politics is much like the market. Its about momentum. About getting your momentum back. Making doubles, not home runs. Because right now, according to the latest fox news poll, 74 want the gop to reach out to democrats on obamacare reform. Ben, is that the roadmap to get a deal done . Just get small reforms. Get Little Things done to get your mojo back. With all due respect, i dont think it is. With great respect, i think they have to have a plan. I was very surprised to see mr. Trump blaming the congress. He didnt come out with a plan, a comprehensive plan. Usually if theres a comprehensive detailed plan, it originates at the white house. It does not originate in congress. It should come down from 1,600 pennsylvania avenue. He didnt really either have the time or the willpower or the experts to get that done. And i think theyre going to have to have a gigantic effort at the on the part of the white house and the Office Management budget to get a large Border Program done. If they cant, obviously, youre totally right. Then they should do the small Border Programs. But there is, to me, shocking that the president took office promising this gigantic grand thing about health care, and he basically had no plans at all for it. It basically was just scratch, scratch, scratch it up at the last minute. Thats not the way to run the government. Liz ben, you make really valid points here because the market is up about 4 trillion since the president was elected in terms of market value. Yes. Yes, its fabulous. I love it. So if they cant get it to a vote, this reform, im just suggesting that maybe get the doubles in there, get some victories in there under their belt because it is about momentum. Its about mojo. The democrats as you know, theyre spreading poison around that the gop wants to kill people. And nancy pelosi just moments ago said the budget will create violence. So theyre going to be in the dc swamp again. Well, nancy pelosi, im a lawyer and economist by training, not a psychiatrist. But nancy pelosi is clearly mentally ill, so i dont pay much attention what she says. She is the ultimate divider and creator of wars within this country, so i dont pay much attention to what she says. It is surely true there are things that the government can do that the gop coming down from President Trump can do that would improve health care in this country. I dont think necessarily the things you suggested are the things that need to be done. But, look, when we were this is ancient history. Most of your watchers probably dont even werent even alive then. We came down with manyhundred page document created at the white house about how to have a health care plan. And it boiled down to this simple idea. We take a census for who can afford health care in this country. For those who genuinely cant afford it, we buy them a policy from a private insurer. It was more complicated than that. But that was the essence of it. I dont know why we cant start with that. Just work through the existing fine Insurance Companies we already have, and have them do most of the heavy lifting. We just write them a check for it. Its going to be a very large check, but health care is incredibly expensive. Liz so you can get both sides to agree on that. That would be a tough tough conservatives who would be against Big Government spending. Even like medicaid expansion. I am just saying this, as you had pointed out. Get something done. Obamacare with tweaks and change nearly about six dozen times after the fact. Final word. Lets get it tweaked and done, for sure. But lets remember the big picture has to come down from mr. Trump. Mr. Sessions said today he is not quitting after the president ripped into him, saying he would have never appointed Jeff Sessions attorney general if he had known Jeff Sessions would have recused himself. Lets take a listen. Jeff sessions takes the job, get into the job, recuses himself, which frankly, i think is very unfair to the president. How do you take a job and then recuse yourself . If he were to recuse himself before the job, i would have said thanks. But i cant im not going to take you. Its extremely unfair, and thats a mild word to the president. Liz jeff responding today. Lets take a listen. I had the honor of serving as attorney general its go that goes beyond any thought i would have ever had for myself. We love this job. We love this department, and i plan to continue to do so, as long as that is appropriate. Now the news stream that got that interview, New York Times ending up more than 1 . The president is being criticized for undercutting the attorney general and the Justice Department during his highlevel probe into russia. Why is the president talking to the New York Times about Jeff Sessions . I think he wants Jeff Sessions to resign. I think he wants him to be gone, and i think he wants to then fire the special prosecutor. Look, he has got a whole bunch of buzzards and other animals looking over his shoulder. They want to kill him. I mean, mr. Muller, im sure hes a fine human being in many ways. But hes got that job because he wants to kill the political career and maybe take away the freedom of President Trump. Hes not there for any other reason. Nobody takes that job then hires 20 or 30 highlevel democrat prosecutors, unless hes out to get the president. Hes gov to get rid of him eventually. Hes going to have to get rid of sessions. It would be understandable if they found some espionage or somebody being paid off to be nice on russia, but they have found nothing. I mean, the controversy that they create with statements like that and whether you like donald trump or not, you have to respect the office of the president of the United States, no matter whos in there. Thats what makes this country as great as it is. And that is absolutely disrespectful. A uniform Police Officer in west virginia, he was denied service at a local mcdonalds. The virginia conservation Police Officer, his name is scott. He claimed a mcdonalds worker refused to serve him his food at a drive through, telling the officer quote i aint serving no police. Now, the officers wife kathy, shes outraged. She said quote this is such an eye opener for me as to what the people who protect us have to go through on a daily basis. I mean, cops are on the front line. Theyre this they stand in between civilized world and chaos. And this is how theyre treated that mcdonalds . Yeah. And well, that could go full circle right back to snoop dogg, you know . In the comments that hes making to an impressionable young man that is obviously straying from reality. And the reality is that those Police Officers are there to help him and his family and his loved ones when they need assistance. So i hope mcdonalds took care of that out there. Shouldnt leaders from the democrat and the Republican Party be condemning whats going on here . Right. So of course they dont have to condemn it, but i would definitely think it would be in their best interest to do so. When we look at the womens march, this is supposed to be promoting female empowerment. And, you know, promoting women that are strong and powerful throughout this country. And i can think of so many amazing women they could have been tweeting happy birthday to this besides this. I recently became friends with a young girl in detroit, michigan. Both parents are Police Officers. Its a petite woman serving in a maledominated field. This is somebody i would like to see tweeting happy birthday to. I think thats a huge mistake on behalf of the Democratic Senators to not separate this woman from the purpose of the womans march as madison pointed out is about equality empowerment, criminal Justice Reform saving the environment, saving Womens Health care, and protecting our right to choose. Hes vowing he will return. Its supposedly one of the most aggressive types of brain cancer. What does this diagnosis mean . What is this . Its one of the most aggressive cancers period. Theres 12,000 new cases a year. The problem with it is, liz, that you cant find it and get it all out because its based on the support cells in the brain. And by the time you remove it, its already infiltrated other brain tissue, no matter what you do. And we have more advanced imaging techniques than we ever have to colorcode it and see how deep it goes. We still cant get it all out. Chemo radiation, weve been doing that for 20 years, and the median life span is still only one to two years, usually. So its very, very deadly and unfortunate. Maybe the most aggressive cancer. Liz so this is the same cancer that killed ted kennedy and joe bidens son bo. How common is this . What do you think its caused by . Its one of the most common primary brain cancers. Now, what its caused by, were trying to find out. Theres a mutation thats a growth factor that actually, theres a lot of immunotherapy going on around that, including taking the immune cells out, engineering them, changing them. Its called car therapy, and putting them back in, and were hopeful that that may be a treatment that you could use on someone like senator mccain if he has that protein. Thats what theyre for sure going to look at because you asked me, you know, what the treatments going to be. Sure, hes going to get the chemo and the radiation, thats going to make him very fatigued. See is he a candidate for this experimental treatment . How does this happen . You know, im wondering with all of this skin cancer and now this. I mean, everybodys still looking at vietnam. I mean, the issue, several studies have never shown a link. Theyve never proven a link. Those studies are still going on. But those pesticides are newer toxins. So i wouldnt rule that out. Its definitely not been proven at this point. Liz have other vietnam vets come down with this form of cancer from that . Yeah. But, again, not proven to be from not proven to be. We dont even know if he was exposed to it. But it is something that liz i mean, hes a hero. Hes a warrior. You just want to the guy deserves some slack, you know . Look, liz.
