Midterm. Trump were going to win so much, you may get tired winning, and youre going to see, please, please, were tired of winning. We cant take it anymore. Mr. President , its too much. And ill say, no, it isnt. We have to keep winning. We have to win more. Liz welcome to risk and reward, im Liz Macdonald in for deirdre bolton. Now, u. S. Markets closing mixed today with the dow and the s p slightly to the downside. Oil taking 2 again, dragging energyrelated stocks down. This as georgia shows once again that democrats lack of policies, obstructionism, three protests, Hillary Clinton summer resistance, all of that trump hatred all to not work with voters. The voters want more. So the question is could this pave the way for maybe a pro growth agenda coming out between democrats and republicans maybe getting together for once . Lets get back to the democrats in georgia, karen handle defeated john in a closelywatched race. It was the most expensive house race ever. The gop has swept all four special elections so far this year, possibly clearing a path to the president s pro growth for agenda. Democrats are seriously fearing that their antitrump obstruction strategy simply dont work. Now, remember when Hillary Clinton joined the resistance. Watch. Im now an active citizen part of the resistance. Liz and remember when former u. S. Attorney general Loretta Lynch under president obama endorsed taking to the streets . I know that this is a time of great fear and uncertainty for so many people. I know its a ton of concern for people who see our rights being failed, trampled on, and even rolled back. I know that this is difficult, but i remind you that this has never been easy. Theyve marched, theyve bled. Yes, some of them have died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before. We can do this again. Liz but msnbc morning show, thats joe scarborough, he warns democrats, you know, marching in the streets is not enough. It does not win elections. Democrats have now lost special elections in georgia, south carolina, montana, and kansas. Theyve been losing since 2010. I dont want to offend anybody here, but if the democrats want to start winning, i feel like i need to say this. I have a lot of friends and loved ones that have been out in these marches that go, you know, every week theyll be marching about something else. Ive been saying all along if you need to do that, if it makes you feel good, then do that. But understand if you want to change america, and you want to change the world, youre much better off going into districts campaigning for somebody knocking on doors. Marching in the streets, great pictures, makes you look good, does not win elections. Liz lets bring in former Trump Campaign chief operating officer. Jeff. Good to see you, jeff. Good to see you, liz. Thank you for having me. Liz sure. Now, jeff, this is a big wakeup call for democrats. The antitrump hatred and protest marches, its not enough. But dems have been losing for seven years since 2010. Any policies that the working class voters like and the other voters like as well. What do you think . Right. And theyve been moving beyond trying to promote policies and playing a game of obstruction. This was a huge message that was sent last night again, now the fifth message after donald trump being elected was the big message that the American Public wants Donald Trumps policies, and they want lawmakers that are going to work with President Trump. This is a massive win for the trump camp, and this, again, shows that what the democrats are doing is not what the American Public wants. Liz well, heres what the democrats are doing. We know that the bernie democrats are talking about a quote positive economic vision. Its okay to march for things like that if you have policies that will attract voters. But, jeff, theres a 90degree angle that theyre taking to the far left with policies that the voter doesnt want. Exactly. And thats been one of the reasons why republicans have done so well like you pointed out over the last seven years, not just this election is because the left has moved further left. And thats not popular with a lot of the people, even in the middle. So the democrats are realizing now that no matter how much money they throw at bad policies, theyre not going to win. But, again and look at what karen handle ran on. She ran on a donald trump platform. She ran very close to donald trump, and she ran promoting some of the same things from repealing obamacare to tax reform, to building a wall. Those are the policies that theyre winning. Liz this is not our parents jfk Democratic Party. Some of them may not have liked her she doesnt have a progressive kind of social message that some voters like, you know, gay marriage or on birth control. Shes pretty much to the, you know, to the right. But you know whats really interesting, jeff. Did the polls get it wrong again . I mean, before the race showed handle nearly deadlocked. Some other people reported on another race. Watch this. The abc news tracking poll has Hillary Clinton up by 12. Over the weekend, an abc tracking poll of likely voters put clinton 12 points in front of donald trump. No candidate down this far this late has ever recovered. Liz well, President Trump saying, well, the special elections are over. Those who want to make America Great again, theyre 50. Its really 40. The polls, again, show that you really cant trust them; right . No, and i think a lot of Campaign Consultants around the country are scratching their head right now trying to figure out how the polls can be very wrong. I will say this. Depending on what pollster you hire, you will get different results. So it always leads you to believe that somebody can play with the numbers to get the result they want because the polls seem to be moving further away from reality. But reality is this that the pendulum is not swinging back any time soon to the establishment and to the do nothing policies of the past. They spoke with donald trump, and they spoke again now. They want action. Liz right. And heres the point. Both reagan and bill clinton worked with the opposition. And the opposition could take credit if the economy began moving again. Theres no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he does not mind sharing the credit with the other side. So now weve got the blue dog democrats, jeff, we know, and you said this species of blue dog democrats. These are the moderate democrats. You can fit them in a phone booth, probably. I think there are 18 of them. They met with President Trumps Economic Team to talk about tax reform; right . So, jeff, is that a positive development . You know, i think its a very positive development because what everybody really wants deep down, the average American Voter just wants everyone to get the policies done. To get tax reform done. Really to move the country forward. Thats what everybody wants deep down. They dont want the games and the partisanship. So i commend the blue dogs that are coming over now saying weve got to do Something Different because really, theyre going to be an endangered species if they dont work to get something done. They come from districts where they want to work along with the administration as well. So youre seeing this now. Youre seeing the Democrat Party in such disarray that theyre coming over now. You know, the democrats, all they have left in their playbook is to go to a safe space, have a group hug, and blame russia. And theyve got to learn to move past that. A, as a lifelong republican, im glad thats all they know how to do. But very good for republicanism right now. Liz you do want a strong Democrat Party. You need a strong opposition party. The way this system is now is broken. I dont think its healthy for the country to have the democrats in such disarray. You need to have good, solid debate. Go ahead, jeff. Well, we need good, solid debate, but we also need fresh blood in washington because when we keep electing the same people, we get the same result. No ones happy with it. So on both sides of the aisle, i think both parties, really, theres an antiincumbent wave, and thats why you look at someone like donald trump getting elected having no political background, thats what we want. We want to do things differently. The American Public wants donald trump, they Want Congress to rally around donald trump and to get something done. And i think, you know, i dont know how many times they have to speak before Congress Wakes up and starts working with the president. But its time now to work with the president. Its time. Liz underneath that gridlock is decades of incumbency. Theyve been insulting each other for years. How can they get anything done . Jeff, youre terrific. Thank you for coming on. Democrats lost big time. They suffered a crushing defeat, cost them 27 million. This is georgias special election. That was the runoff yesterday. It is the most expensive house race ever. Record amounts of money, including from outsiders, even after Many Democrats have repeatedly said enough. We want Campaign Finance reform. Stop with this money. Watch. Today, we have a Campaign Finance system, which is undermining american democracy. Campaign finance reform and reducing the power of special interest is directly related to getting washington working for people again. I support dramatic reform of our campaign financing. Today we have a corrupt Campaign Finance system in which billionaires and super pacs and large corporations are able to buy elections. Liz lets take that to the political power panel. We have former Hillary Clinton Communications Director adrian. Good to see you, adrian. And also Washington Examiner contributor. First to you. Its the most expensive house race ever but a lot of money coming in. But the democrats are complaining about Campaign Finance reform. How do you square both of that . Another case of do as i say, not as i do. And especially when you look at the playbook they use for the presidency, democrats are both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton spent about 563 million during the primary and of course donald trump raised about 67 million. So it was a very big difference there. I think that the democrats, the fact that they dont have a message that the fact that they continue to just say, hey, were going to obstruct trump or resist, which i think the resistance plan is working. Democrats, independents, and republicans are resignatio resisting voting for democrats, so its working to a large degree. But they need to cleanup their act immediately, otherwise theyre going to see more and more failure. Liz made a good point that joe biden would have been a better candidate because he would have been the workingclass voter thats interested in the policies and issues to help be successful. What are your thoughts about that . Well, first of all, i just want to remind both of you and your viewers that Hillary Clinton won this election by nearly 3 million votes in the popular vote. But thats irrelevant. Were moving forward. Yeah. Very much irrelevant because she didnt win the presidency. So thats a very irrelevant fact there. Thank you for mentioning it, though. My plan is its not worth going back looking backwards. Liz most of those votes were in california. Were talking state to state whos looking, again, adrian, youve seen this too. This is not our parents Democrat Party. Its no longer the jfk pro growth party. The workingclass voter, they want to see what the democrat policies are instead of the obstructionism. Go ahead. No, absolutely. I agree with you. And weve got a lot of soulsearching to do as democrats. You know, i work at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee during the 05, 06 cycle when democrats took back the house and part of what we did was went into red states, went into purple states, like ohio, and North Carolina who fit the profile of that district. Oftentimes they were democrats like keith and brad who were very liz adrian just nailed it. Adrian just nailed it. You know why . Why . Liz 2018 is 2006 all over again where george w. Bush faced big losses when the democrats said you know what . Were going to step up about policy. Let me take it a step further. What she just said, they need to take let me take it a step further, in 2008, said republican is now dog food. We rebuild, won back the house, won back the senate, and we retooled. And i think thats what democrats have to do in order to be a bit challenged. Liz thank you, adrian for bringing up 2006. It is such an important point. Thank you so much. Thank you. Liz earnings after the bell beat estimate for the fourth quarter. Anthem. You know anthem. It is the insurer with obamacare. Larger than most other insurers. But they have now pulled out of two more states. Indiana and wisconsin citing unstable markets. Anthem stock closing slightly higher just above 192 a share. Now, well bring you back to this story. A Police Officer stabbed in the neck and the back at an International Airport in flint, michigan. Fbi investigating it as a possible act of terrorism. Were waiting on a press conference about that. The fbi also giving an update on the gop baseball game shooter today. Saying more than 200 rounds of ammunition at a local storage unit. He visited that unit sometimes twice a day before the attack. Were going to have details on exactly what he was doing and were more attacks planned . But first, democrats turning against their own collusion theory about trump and russia. We have now california democrat congressman Maxine Waters. She is a antitrump critic. She now says theres no evidence. Were going to play you that sound after this i dont honor him. I dont respect him, and i dont want to be involved with him. My greatest desire is to lead him right into impeachment. My position against this president and his administration is clear. I oppose this president. I do not honor this president. I do not respect this president. Whether hes talking about his relationship to putin and the kremlin knowing that hes responsible for supplying the bombs that killed innocent children and families in yeah, in aleppo. And the fact that he is wrapping his arms around putin while putin is continuing to advance into korea. Liz that was Maxine Waters talking about trump russian collusion now but now the democrats are turning on this collusion theory. Now democrat congresswoman waters a antitrump critic says there is no evidence. But im not prepared to say theres proof you could take to a jury. Do you agree with this conclusion that the president has reached that there was no evidence of collusion . You know, we havent seen any of that whatsoever, george. Weve been looking in everything that they possibly have. That has not led to that. The last time we spoke, senator, i asked you if you had actually seen evidence of collusion between the Trump Campaign and the russians, and you said to me, and im quoting you now. You said not at this time. Has anything changed since we spoke last . Well, not no, it hasnt. Just to be clear, we havent there are has been no actual evidence yet. No, there has not been. Liz joining me now from london, the London Center for policy research, he is retired Lieutenant Colonel tony shafer. Good to see you, colonel. Good to see you. Thank you for having me. Liz so now we have Maxine Waters, dianne feinstein, along with brooks, they all say there is no evidence that the president colluded with russia. What do you say . Well, ive talked to republicans i respect on the hill long before this who have said the same thing. Anyone who is rational who has been watching the facts, not the fiction and the narrative have recognized a long time ago that this is very damaging. This is very damaging because there is no evidence and yet certain members of the Democrat Party have built up expectations. Those expectations in many ways were then expanded by the acceptance of violence and because of the violence, others have taken action in order to attack members of congress. So this is not only factless, its dangerous. And i believe the democrats are finally waking up to the reality that there is no evidence, and they need to basically focus on the facts, not the fiction which they wish to portray. Liz yeah, but youve seen it since november that speculation is reported as fact. Opinions are reported as facts. How much is the media responsible here . A lot. The democrats have been using the Mainstream Media and, look, let me be clear. You guys have been great. The main fox channel has been great. But ms ill just say who they are. Cnn, msnbc, new york times, washington post, have all been guilty of slander, of i would say borderline on sedition because they picked up information that was actually dangerous and divisive. So i think at this point in time since then, weve seen a continued march of the Mainstream Media down this, and its been horrible. Liz you just brought up possible violence. We have news breaking from the fbi. James, the shooter at the baseball game, he had a storage facility. This is breaking news from the fbi. He visited that facility more than 43 times between april and june. The Stores Facility was in alexandria, virginia. Remember, he came into illinois in virginia as of march. 200 rounds of ammunition there. The fbi said he visited the u. S. Capital, the Senate Office building, the supreme court, and more. Theres no indication that these areas were targets. But he was his neighbors were complaining of target practice on his property in illinois. The police came, they didnt do anything. What are your thoughts about these new developments . Well, look, the fbis completely wrong on this. What you just outlined is called casing and preparation. This individual was looking for a target. I think he recognized he was not going to be able to get a weapon with ammunition into the capitol or any other locations you just mentioned. So therefore what terrorists do, they go for a soft target, and it may have been just happenstance they figured out that the republicans were practicing on that practice field. It doesnt really matter. The fact is this the pathology that he polled which is used by isis. And i said this on the network as well. Youve seen a radicalization effort made very clear by the left. Youve seen go into the streets, Major Entertainment figures like Kathy Griffin and others making it basically making people numb to the idea of violence and making it acceptable as an act. Liz its unacceptable. It will never be normalized. It should never be acceptable. Absolutely. Disgrace. Liz absolutely not right. It is completely immoral. Completely. Liz what he was going to do with 200 rounds of ammunition . Well, 200 rounds is significant. Look, lets be honest here, liz. He could have done significant damage had the Congressional Police not been there to prevent him from shooting other members. Let me be clear on this. Ive used weapons like he used all my career. And at 50 meters, he could have killed 30 people easily with the ammunition he had. 200 rounds with an effective marksman could be very dangerous. Liz he could have killed children on the way to school. People at the gym. Hes killing innocents. Right. And he was radicalized, and thats why im saying everything weve seen here from the left, everything from the russia narrative to the violent the acceptance of violence is irresponsible and unacceptable. Its time to change. Liz its a flat out disgrace. Lets get on to this story. A Police Officer stabbed in the back of the neck this morning at an airport in flint, michigan. We are awaiting the press conference on that. It is being investigated as a possible act of terror. Now, witnesses say the attacker allegedly shouted akbar. The police have been doing a good amount of job looking to stop radicalization. But, look, theyve had issues with people being radicalized. One of the folks i deal with is a former member of alqaeda who left that organization. Liz colonel, we have to get to that presser right now on the stabbing of the Police Officer. We want to make sure we have the most update Accurate Information with you. I would like to introduce you the special agent in charge which covers the entire state of michigan. Special agent in charge david. Good afternoon. And i would like to thank you all for your patience throughout the day today. Youll excuse me to defer to a few notes here because i want to give you as accurate of information as i can. We have had a very busy day, and i know weve kept you waiting, and we wanted to wait until we had a point that we could come out here and provide you a little more information than we might have been able to do, had we done this an hour or two ago. Before we start, youre all aware of the incident we had out here today where lieutenant jeff was stabbed. And before we get to any details of the investigation and what happened here today, i would like to turn this over to chief chris miller of the bishop International Airport Public Safety department to give you information on whats most important, and thats the Current Health condition of lieutenant neville. Chief. Good evening, everyone. Lieutenant neville is in satisfactory condition, as you all heard what happened to him. Hes doing fine and residing at a local hospital right now. Hes resting comfortably, and we would just like to thank everybody that came out to support us here in this trying time. So and thats all i have. And well introduce others of the partners here today. As you can imagine, this has been a great joint local, state, and federal operation since early this morning, and we couldnt have done it without all the partners here, and well give them each an opportunity to introduce themselves. But i will just go into the facts of what weve been investigating today. I will tell you that we are investigating this incident today that happened at about 9 45 this morning as an act of terrorism. We have just filed a complaint charging an individual whos a 50yearold resident of canada who legally entered the United States in lake champlain, new york on june 16th and made his way to flint. And today arrived at the flint International Airport. Obviously, i know a lot more about this were sort of at zero hour of this investigation right now. And since it is a pending investigation, im not going to go into great detail as to what we do know. But we don he entered the airport, he spent a little time on the first level, and then he went upstairs, he spent some time in the restaurant up there, and then he came out, he was carrying baggage. He went into a restroom, he spent a little time in the restroom, dropped both bags and came out. Pulled out a knife, yelled allahu akbar, and hes expected to fully recover, and thats the most blessed thing that i think we can say about this today. Its a good outcome. We had some incredible acts of heroism up there today and questions we can perhaps talk a little bit about the efforts to take mr. If him into custody. The complaint thats filed is charging a violation of 18 u. S. Code 37a1, which basically is violence at an International Airport. And just to give a little bit more background on that, that is when someone unlawfully uses a device to commit an act of violence at an International Airport that could have or did cause serious injury, which we had in this instance. There is a 20year Penalty Associated with that. But this as i said is very, very early in the investigation. And as we progress and take this matter to grand jury for entitlement, other charges could be pending later on. And as i mentioned, its an ongoing investigation. Theres joint operations going on in canada as we speak. We want to thank our canadian partners who are helping us further investigate this attack. And with that, i would like to defer to some of my partners here to make brief statements as well. Sir, can you spell the last name for us, please. The name is amor ftouhi. And as i mentioned, hes approximatelily a 50yearold canadian. He entered the country on june 16th and as i mentioned, its a pending investigation. We know he came to the airport this morning. Thats as far as were going to go with were going to develop further information with his timeline as he entered into champlain, new york. Right now were going to have the introductions of all of our state, local, and federal partners that are here with us. Special First Lieutenant david kaiser with the Michigan State police. First and foremost, Michigan State police would like to extend their thoughts and prayers to lieutenant neville and his family during this difficult time. Michigan state police has supplied many resources today to work with our local, state, and federal partners. Some of the resources provided include officers, detectives, bombsniffing canines, and our Michigan Police crime lab. They are all involved in this investigation and work well with the partners in this. I would also like to mention that governor Rick Schneider has been in frequent contact with Michigan State headquarters today inquiring about the status of the injured officer as well as the status of this investigation. And Michigan State police is very appreciative of this. Thank you. Liz were going to have more after the break on this stabbing of a Police Officer in flint, michigan. Stay with us. What if technology gave us the power to turn this enemy into an ally . Microsoft and its partners are using smart traps to capture mosquitoes and sequence their dna to fight disease. There are over 100 million pieces of dna in every sample. With the microsoft cloud, we can analyze the data faster than ever before. If we can detect new viruses before they spread, we may someday prevent outbreaks before they begin. Liz we just heard about fbi and local Law Enforcement about the stabbing of a Police Officer in flint, michigan this morning. The Police Officer was stabbed in the back of the neck. He is being treated. He is in surgery. He is in stable condition. Police officers are investigating this attack as an act of terror. Lets bring back retired Lieutenant Colonel tony shafer. Colonel, the news that came out of this, the suspect is a 50yearold amor legally entered the United States with a canadian passport on june 16th. What goes through the thought process here of a person that does this . Comes in from canada to go to flint, michigan to attack a Police Officer. Whats going on . Well, look, i think you see another form of radicalization here at work. We have individuals who are part of the islamic faith, a very narrow violent part of it, we dont see the amish doing this, we dont see the monks from china doing this. This is a group of islam. They are groups, and i work with one of them. Muslims who are working to deradicallize their faith. But, liz, this is another example of someone within that religion coming from a foreign country, in this case canada, coming across the border with some level of intent and, look, what well find that out in the investigation, but ill go out on a limb and say were going to find that this individual had clear intent to go here and do something to attack some member of Law Enforcement or the military. Liz colonel, youre an expert here. On high alert about a knifing attack about this because theres been an outbreak of knifing attacks by jihadis in france and in england. Israel suffered through it a couple of years ago. Israel shut down its knifing attacks. How did it do that . It did it by essentially having their Police Officers who have to come into close proximity within individuals making it very clear they understood how to look for warning signs. There are certain things that you can see that are telegraphed. And, unfortunately, in this case, liz, this officer probably did not have that kind of training to be aware and frankly, youre not going to be able to stop it all the time. It sounds like this person was attacked from behind. So you dont have eyes in the back of your head. So this is something liz you do have passengers around there; right . You do. And the problem is obviously we dont have a culture, which is now sensitivized to watch out for this extreme form. It has happened here. But, again, the American Public has not taken notice to the level necessary to understand how to stop this. But i think people are going to start taking more notice now. Liz retired Lieutenant Colonel tony shafer. We love having you go on the show. Please come back soon. Thank you. Liz lets switch gears to one of the biggest corporate stories of the year. The melt down of uber. Cofounder and ceo got into an argument with one of his drivers back in february. There have been Sexual Harassment scandals at the company. The ceo resigning today as the head of the ridehailing service. He helped found that company in 2009. Again, Sexual Harassment cases and frat house culture. Youre looking at sex rules emails to staffers about how to deal with sexual relations in the workplace. All of this causing an investor result. Activist investors call for his removal, and he left. Now the reports suggest that the locker room in uber, wellknown womens rights advocate and chief operating officer Cheryl Sandburg. She could be the companys first replacement choice according to new reports coming out. Lets bring in Money Managers robin young joining me now is Cheryl Sandburg the right choice for uber, thai . You know, she could be. There are has been as you pointed out, liz, an animal housetype atmosphere. So much so, they brought in eric holder, the former attorney general to investigate. And the company frankly is in decline, and they need a fresh face. They need somebody to get something to get things done, and she just may be the right choice. Liz to thais point, jason, uber seems like behind the scenes, in complete disarray and melt down. It still dominates threequarters of the market. Do you think it can survive this mess if it just gets a better, you know, ceo who does not need adult supervision as he said he did . You know, i absolutely do. I think they cannot only survive but thrive. Lyft is gaining market share, so thats something to consider. I think if uber were a publiclytraded company. Once the news broke that travis was stepping down not necessarily ousted. It would have been down 20 . Now i think it would rally today based off of travis totally leaving because it does have a future. I love the idea of Cheryl Sandburg coming on board because she is a visionary in her own point who would bring a kinder, gentler attitude. Liz lets bring in a ipo with gigantic ramifications. Ubers ipo is going to be a blip on the screen compared to this ipo. Its saudi arabias oil company. Its a stateowned oil Company Valuations of over 2 trillion. It could be the largest ipo ever. Possibly 262 billion barrels of oil is what they could pull out of the kingdom over there. We are seeing, thai, a dramatic reorganized of the kingdoms line of succession. Saudi arabia team elevates his 31yearold son to be his successor. What are your thoughts about this . Well, i mean, a couple of things. His so be is very profile. Hes been the face of the company. But also been the face of saudi arabia. Called saudi arabia 2030. And hes in charge of the diversification of the saudi economy from just an oil economy to far more other things. Hes a very high profile guy. The king is 81 years old. This has been something coming for a while, and i think its coming as a result of the iran deal that we made with iran, and i think saudi arabia felt like they had to make these sort of moves as a result of that. Liz yeah, oil is in a bear market right now. Quickly, gas prices coming down. When this comes to market, what do you think will happen with oil prices . Well, oil prices will continue continue to stay below 50, i believe. But i do want to make a point to whoever is watching out there about thistrilliondollar ipo. You have to think who is smart money and less smart money. Why is saudi selling now . You do not want to be a buyer in this ip on o. They are cashing out of what they feel is a dying industry. Liz interesting. Thank you for being on. We love having you go. First, pumped of this referendum on trump georgia votes. Thats what is told us. Special election there that it was a referendum on trump. The democrats possibly winning in 2018. Now doing a 180 saying its not that big of a deal. Even a record 26 million was spent on the democrats on that story making it the most expensive error. Were going to play you the full sound after this. Com today liz some members of the media reporting on the Georgia Special election as a quote referendum on President Trump. As a short fire pass, its sweeping democrat victory in 2018. But after last nights loss by the democrats, cnn trying to do a 180. Saying georgias special election not a big deal at all. Even though democrats spent 26 million. The most expensive house race ever. It shouldnt be breaking news. This is the way it should happen. But the fact, david, that it was so close, at least it appeared in the polling, and then the results as well. The results are actually really close. Liz lets bring in the Political Panel back. Adrian, what do you think of what don lemon, how he reported on it . First, it was a referendum, and now its not. Look, many respects to don. Tom price won that seat by 14 percentage points. This was a seat that used to be held by Newt Gingrich as well. So this is a longheld republican seat. But, look, i would also say this. At the end of the day the resistance starts to take shape, but we also need a win. So im hoping that the Health Care Vote if republicans are successful in actually repealing obamacare, this will continue to unite the resistance in a way that actually produces results moving forward. Liz we know that the georgia race was the most expensive house race ever. 26million bucks lost. I mean, to get that win, what do the democrats need to do . A whole lot. Something they havent been doing. And, you know, honestly, i think where the Democratic Party really is messed up has become a really elitist party. One thing they forgot is the folks who live in the coast. If you look at the numbers, 41 live in the poverty line. Whos talking about their issues . Thats why trump won that appealed to those voters. Liz adrian, weve got breaking news. Some democrats are saying nancy pelosi, you have to step down of your leadership from the Democratic Party. We need new, fresh blood for the voters out there. What are your thoughts there . Look, democrats have a lot of extraordinary leaders in the house. Nancy pelosi is a very formattable, powerful leader. But this goes back to what i said into the earlier segment, profiles of their district is so important for democrats. We do need to get new faces into the mix so that we we can rebuild the democrats for the future. Liz thank you so much for your time. Love having you go on the show. Next up, we have this story for you. A new report suggests Otto Warmbier, he died from brain damage inflicted by north korean interrogates. How . Maybe an overdose. Thats a theory out there. Were going to explore it. Coming up, we have the man who interrogated 9 11 master mine. Hes going to weigh in on that and whether that might be the case. What killed Otto Warmbier . Hes enhanced interrogation architect james mitch. He joins me next. Dont go away my understanding from talking to the experts, he was tortured not so much the way of pulling fingernails out with tools but by repeated drugging. Sodium pentothal. The idea was they were trying to figure out if he was a cia spy or not. He says of. And the continued and repeated exposure over that year to these drugs is what caused the consistent and persistent damage to the entire brain. Liz saying the theory that north korea used drugs to torture and kill Otto Warmbier. Now, earlier today the family declined an autopsy on their son. He returned home in a state of unresponsive weightfulness. A vegetative state. He was there in a coma for a year. Were looking at defense stocks mixed action there. Joining me now the author of enhanced interrogation james mitchell. You interrogated 9 11 mastermind muhammad and many others. What do you know about sodium pentothal . Well, first, i think we need to be cautious about assuming that thats what they actually used. But ill answer the question that you asked me. Its one of those drugs well, first off, the use of drugs in interrogation is against the torture Convention Since its not even a gray area. Its one of those things that civilized nations dont use them. And the reason they dont use them is because its unreliable. It will make a person highly suggestible so that if what youre trying to do is coerce a false confession out of them, then thats the kind of drug that unscrupulous nations might use because youre not looking for facts. Youre trying to ask leading questions and convince them that theyve actually done something wrong so that they provide you with propaganda. Liz it could suppress the lungs; right . If you dont have oxygen to the brain, that could cause brain tissue damage; right . Well, i think the physicians that examined him said that the kind of state that he was in was a direct result of him not getting oxygen to his brain. And theres a variety of ways that can happen. Im not a physician but my reading on the topic when i was at the school suggested that you could have an largic reaction to it. You could get sick and throw up. Its not the kind of thing people should be doing, regardless where they are. Liz Otto Warmbiers father blamed the last administration for advising the warmbier family dial it down. Stay quiet about this. I would like your thoughts on this sound byte. Lets take a listen. The question is dont think the past administration could have done more . I think the results speak for themselves. Liz now, an obama spokesperson, mr. Mitchell, issued a statement saying quote during the course of the Obama Administration, we had no higher priority than securing the release of americans detained overseas. Tireless efforts result in the release of ten americans in north korean custody during the course of the Obama Administration. There are three Americans Still detained over there, mr. Mitchell. What are your thoughts about this . Well, i think the Obama Administration saying that thats their highest priority is right in line saying their Health Care Wont go up one red dime. Its just simply not true, in my opinion. There are people held over there, and we should be doing more to get them out. And the horrible part of this is when theyre held by rogue regimes like north korea, they could be doing any horrible did a liz if youre an elected official, would you stay quiet if your loved one held overseas .
