We were very surprised by this letter and what we are asking at this point is the director comey get all of the information out on the table, all of it so that the American People can judge for themselves. Maria any insight you can give us in terms of how the fbi will handle this now. They have the warrant to start reviewing the emails. Tell us what takes place now, ron . Im quite confident that they have the emails that they previously recovered in the case in automated fashion so that when they pull in the current emails, they can compare essentially list a to list b and eliminate that which theyve already seen and assess and they understand what has classified information in it if it does and they put that on one stack and then you have the stack of the new, and then theyre going to have to categorize that and understand how much this relates to state department work, how much is unrelated because its weiners or someone elses and then start this process again where presumably they have potential classified information in the new stack circulated to others in the Intelligence Community who may have been responsible for classifying it originally, go through that process again which is often lengthy to let the other parties opine on whether its classified or not and then come back and come to some sort of conclusion as to whether these were properly stored and then go back and ask all the obvious questions. How did they get there, what was the mechanism . Go ahead. Maria theres a lot of debate this morning, harry reid is saying james comey may have broken the law, the dems are up in arms, even some republicans are up in arms, a third of many states have already voted so maybe he should have done his job a couple of weeks ago or a couple of months ago. I think comey and his senior staff certainly had some sense and the fbi does have the tool to give them volume and content and once they discover that these there was a piece of this off of a whats been reported as a common device, that may not have been mr. Weiner. They have a sense of what that volume looks like and they could filter that into buckets. And once they have that comey felt the obligation. He has been on the hook with this with congress to tell them i have to report, tell doj, i have to report it. I feel like im compelled and im on the hook and made pronouncement. Dagen one of the questions has come up that people have asked me in the last couple of days, we know based on our reporting at fox news that these Anthony Weiner devices, laptops, smartphones were handed over to the fbi on october the third about 5 00 p. M. That the fbi executed search warrant and were handed via Anthony Weiners team, why did it take this long for comey to say this to the American People . Yeah, thats a good question, a fair question and deserves an answer. The fbi is going to go through the known legal processes to lawfully access information and here it sounds like we have devices that have multiple contributors and like the fbi, if they were to walk into a scene where they have a search warrant and theyre looking for evidence of drug tasking trafficking and they find a body, what they will do go back out and go back to a judge and make a case for conducting expanded search for Something Different than they walked in originally because they want to make sure they are on firm legal ground. It could that they were working through the process with doj prosecutors or here at doj or a combination and during the election season when you get all of those folks involved, theres going to be a timing issue thats probably going to slow you down. Cel cel ron, im glad you brought up the timing issue. It seems that one of the biggest things that could be happening in coming from all the new information as we are getting, this could play out for several years, should she get elected. It could affect her administration and dog it for a very long time. Could this be prolonged for several years and affect her . This issue is not going away any time soon particularly if the fbi has to go fully through that classification process. Yeah, i think when we had this extraordinary this case is extraordinary, the timing is extraordinary. The fact that we are looking at jim comey as the villant here is ridiculous and extraordinary because it was Hillary Clinton and her team and their silence and their actions that put this in a volt during her entire time at state department and two years after only to be discovered has started a clock on the fbi. So i think when comey stepped up to the plate, when Loretta Lynch damaged in the meeting, theres doj judgment. Comey stepped into the breach.
