Joining me to talk about it and break it all down, transfixed at the wall street journal editorinchief and pollster lee carter. Great to see everybody. Thank you indeed. We break the news is hitting the reset on his campaign. Bringing in a couple promoted a trait important people. Its an important recognition, a real recognition that his campaign does need some serious rework. Maria we would get to that. Top story of the journal and exclusive. Coming up this morning stay with us because we will speak with cia operative mike baker. Trent Campaign National cochairman sam clovis and nominee new mexico governor gary johnson will be live. Stay right there. Kicking it off right now at the top story. A shakeup in belgiums Campaign Leadership as first reported this morning. Great partners cofounder Stephen Bennett assumes the role of the chief executive Kelley Ann Conway provided to Campaign Manager raising questions about paul manna about paul metaphors will he now becomes chairman. The overhaul of the Campaign Team the second time in just the last couple of months. How do you see it . At the recognition that the recognition that it has received the campaign has been in trouble. Trump has stumbled from one mistake to another. Getting into the five with the gold star family saved some strange things she then had to retract her say she was joking about. The polls have been awful since the conventions. Hes been traded in all the key battleground states. There is little speculation that trump was phoning it in her midin her mid that he was simply engaged in a campaign and wasnt that concerned about it. This is an attempt to right the ship, to make sure that these mistakes are in the past and he now gets back on message, back on the campaign he should be on. But also to emphasize his heart is in it. He understands what he needs to do to win and hes brought in a couple professionals to have a key role as those Kelley Ann Conway, it will perspective in lubbock mr. Public and pollster. Metaphors stay where he is. His role in the campaign doesnt change. This is what candidates do and things are not going to love this shake things up on the demonstrate theyre in charge and need a change of direction. Maria going into that convention, he was doing quite well. Then something happened. You wonder if these changes are enough. Remember we were here when mayor giuliani came on and we said was their intervention, an emergency meeting. Paul metaphors have impressed they. I won out. Are these the kind of changes that will remedy that . Dagen it will be critical. They were probably the process of doing this, but they need their messaging tighter with her surrogates. When you hear her surrogates, Purdue Giuliani the greatest for Donald Trumps campaign in terms of staying on message and talking about his drink. Kelley ann conway the same. The other surrogates who can tell the messaging is not getting out in real time. Kelley had thiwoin getting ads together, figuring out where to cut, they start running on friday. Pennsylvania, ohio, florida and North Carolina critical in the messaging. You make a point that trump has largely he wasnt the Campaign Manager that told him to go after the con family or told him to suggest the Second Amendment people should take care of Hillary Clinton. So can he stay on message . Can the Campaign Team get him to refocus on what needs to be done . Theres a clear message that the country wants change. The economy isnt working. If you look at Hillary Clinton, another four years. Dagen really quickly, in a speech last night was typed and hit on themes. It was wellwritten but had none critically important themes and i was like thats how you follow up mondays speech. Dagen you are doing now at this polling and you saw what happened in the polls right after the convention and throughout all of these instances when he said things that were really perceived that way. Right now things are really soft. A lot of people looking at gary johnson and jill stein. A lot of people undecided at this point. 50 of voters to change their mind in the last two months. Maria sounds like this could work. Whenever you reshape reputation, a symbolic gesture, a leadership moment for you recognize things need to change can give people a second look. If hes able to change right now, its a reset moment in his campaign but its got to follow it up with discipline and rigor and continue speeches like hes done the last week. He said three good solid speeches. Hes got to use surrogates to be the ones doing the attacking in a consistent way that seems reason to not draw which is what it seems like right now. Maria you mentioned the ads. Other clinton has a lot of attack ads. He doesnt have the money before this to go after her. Hes raised money over the summer. Its august. Shes been advertising during the olympics and youve been seeing that. She has been pulling her advertising in the battleground states. So confident they will win. He has raised a lot of money. Beginning at the end of this week we will start seeing more spending. These people would argue we spent no money on advertising in the battleground state of any Key Campaign Areas we need to be spending. Were a little bit behind but when we spend this money now we can close the gap. Maria more on this from jerry as we talk about this exclusive journal traub overhauling the Campaign Team. The law and order candidate in a speech in wisconsin last night. Watch. The violence, riots and destruction that have taken place is an assault on all citizens to live in security and to live in peace. The main victims of these riot or law abiding African American citizens living in this neighborhood. Theres no compassion compassion in tolerating lawless conduct for anyone. Crime and violence is an attack on the poor and will never be accepted in a trump administration. Maria this coming as the nominee set receive hisirst National Security briefing later today. Former u. S. Army Intelligence Officer and form the u. S. And nato commander in afghanistan. Good to see you. Thanks for joining us. What is your take on the speech last night . As long as donald trump steaks to the things they carried him through the convention, the law and order theme, National Security and the economy, hes going to win this thing. As long as world events give them a little helping hand as well. Is a farmer at pfizer to nato and all your experience and Foreign Policy committee think donald trump has the goods too late given the issues we see today with regard to access and other Foreign Policy issues . The paradoxes is actually the left of obama on a lot of issues. Like russia, the middle east. And yet americans trusted more. Papers might have no worries about donald trump as commanderinchief. I think hes not afraid to assert American Power and he is the respect of a lot of armed forces as well. All the concerns of what he said about nato in particular. He went somewhere to addressing those concerns on monday. Do you think he understands the importance of nato in terms of the broader Strategic Alliance but also that the potential nato can offer against terrorism. I think donald judds comments about nato got wrote a little bit out of proportion. Stating that we are basing american participation in nato and the contributcontribut ions of european allies is not substantially different than what american president has said the past 60 years. Frankly when you look at our willingness versus the western europeans willingness to defend the Eastern Frontier of nato, baltic states, poland, in pedro, i feel good about where america is a donald trump Going Forward. One of the things ive heard a lot of people say. I can see the First Six Months of being reactive, impulsive. He reacts to date all the time. People are concerned about this and Foreign Policy. Do you think we should be concerned . His temperament is the biggest question. You dont want someone who can beat david by a tweaked into doing something rash. There is an element of being in the white house that makes you go into being the president. And ask the candidate into a statesman. You saw it happen with barack obama and some is george w. Bush, particularly after 9 11. Maria thats a really good point. When you think about the past president s, you hope you surround himself with smart people and people who can take leadership roles. He said this on the show last week is going to announce candidate numbers after labor day. Well see if that generate stressing, and spirit anger, good to see you. 82,000 people forced to leave their homes in Southern California as firefighters struggle to control massive wildfires. Donald trump hired another guy named eve who was a Top Executive at right partners. He will be the campaigns chief executive officer. A real fan so its likely you will continue to to push trump down that road just south of the bit of a of the benedictine at bats an eye towards a more moderate drought. Hiring Kelley Ann Conway, promoting her first year at pfizer poster to be as Campaign Manager. Donald trump will be out until the world is a wanted man in his campaign. In a speech in wisconsin 30 miles north of here. First about the very first time hes used a telecom to add a traditional rally setting before thousands of people and based on the response that is something hell do it again. Not a typical message for the republican candidate. Direct in the message at inner cities to pursue policies that improve the lives of minority americans to economic and Educational Opportunity and strong policing promising to break the cycle of poverty and blaming Hillary Clinton and democrats were pursuing policies that perpetuate lawlessness. Here is trump from last night. She is against the police. Hillary would rather protect the offender at the end of the gun. Heather clinton backed policies stars of the bowl for the problems in the inner cities today and a vote for her is a vote for another generation of poverty, high grad and lost opportunities. Its unlikely donald trump will win africanamerican voters en masse that he may peel off a few. The speeches aimed at independents, moderate voters here in this talk from the Clinton Campaign about the devices carrots urge to say hes not. Hes a very inclusive candidate. Look at his very first classified intelligence briefing. New york city. Bringing along new Jersey Governor Chris Christie who gets to be there because hes the head of his Transition Team and the china general michael fled p. Brought to the meeting to check the veracity of the report recounts the campaign does not trust the Intelligence Community to give donald trump the highest quality intelligence during this briefing. Its interesting that skeptical of the whole thing. Maria wow, very interesting. John roberts at the latest. When you make of the timing of the campaign overhaul . Its smart. It shouldve happened a few weeks ago, but its important for him to restart right now. He seemed like a different man. He was much more in control. He didnt seem like a loose cannon as much. His messaging was spot on. Having that plus having someone like kelley and conway who brings a lot of discipline and messaging. She was its possible for a lot of the super pac as for ted cruz which were very effect is. Shes a super smart person can i really respected in the republican community. The timing was right. Maria interesting to go from the type Whose Campaign to the Trump Campaign. The wall street journal broke the story about this trump overhaul. Was this more of a reflection of frustration or trump just didnt like what he wasng . I know his state chairman. Some people still see this as the patent power taken away. Even if you leave someone in place, you bring new people is to import roles. He stays the chairman. Inevitably you are diluting the role of the influence he has. There is an a lot in the next few weeks. The stories come out about the vision and people not paying attention and is losing his temper and is not interested. A lot of concern among the trump family about the way some of the messaging has been handled. Clearly frustration in a sense that there has to be more disciplined. Dagen atoll chaump has alluded to losing and i think that was something that had to be stopped immediately. You cannot talk about loss. Maria he went on cnn. If you lose when he going to do . I think, you know we are edging closer towards you know, the point in time where it will be appropriate i think to raise Interest Rates further. Could you see a rate hike potentially in september . You also have meetings in about november and december. Yeah i think it is possible i mean i think we will have to see how data falls where we are in terms of the broad support for the economy. Maria joining us to weigh in j. P. Morgan chief economist anthony good to see you what is your take you think i Strong Enough to warrant rate hike. Gech fact Unemployment Rate so low economy noting collapsing just a rate hike before end of the year Financial Markets not anticipating it bill dudley others want to change in a. What about issue businesses not spend we go see through factor odds numbers through Business Investment numbers, this is sitting on cash. Good reason productivity so low gone down yearoveryear basis this environment, there is not a lot of incentives for businesses to actually spend weve had three consecutive quarters negative growth annualized basis cal equipnt expenditures we need productivity picking up greater opportunities for business before that happens. Even though you are seeing, what dudley said yesterday, there are clearly clearly mixed signals from the fed, jon willia jon williams San Francisco fed president pretty close to yellen indicating yesterday that actually even though there maybe a rate increase 25 basis points possibly this year fed is very, very reluctant to get to do any normal seeing eye dogs of Interest Rates the dollar, as a result, falling against yen there is no even if they raise rates if they do move towards a long term normalization going to be extremely slow. I am not even normalization all we are talking about is 25 basis points sometime between now and end of the year, one of the things John Williams said and other researchers stayed real if he had fundz rate is much, much lower so given that as walk drop John Williams as you mentioned came up with idea may be should raise inflation target to me seems a little strange, because you cant meet the current inflation target raising even higher is bigger challenge. Yesterday, it was almost unusual bill dudley seemed sounding a warning to bond investors, about 10 year treasury yield 1 1 2 par phraseing, of course, investors are complacent about that losses could be on horizon if you are piling into treasurys that is what i took away i thought that was a pretty big step. I will tell you what is going on the Federal Reserve, this environment never wants you to raise rates if market is not anticipating it when you look at fed futures contracts, basically not telling you, telling you not more than one rate hike between now and end of 2016 that according to many people in the fed is completely unacceptable they are trying to print market for mirror than that. You go from one month good employment numbers talk a little bit about possibly raising rates another month, are you know we have hat bumpy few months with employment numbers another month where doesnt look so good everybody signaling rates sales europe, europe a mess, right . Look at europe, in terms of no growth there. Any expectations that is going to turnaround markets still if you look at uk not any growth in 12 months that is why so aggressive but if you look at some confidence numbers Business Confidence numbers eurozone are suggesting growth next 12 months will be at least 1 may be even a little bit more but no question, that there is going to be fallout from brexit even into eurozone less so in United States further you leave or move from United Kingdom less formallyout there is fallout. What do you make of the argument even more wild that low Interest Rates actually harming the acquit the effect on savers negative Interest Rates particularly Banking Sector hit pretty hard a tax on banks, that this belief is that Central Banks had so long you keep priming the pump lower and lower triple digits may not be working. I have heard that argument many times said low Interest Rates are causing people to save more slows down the economy, except last rate wouldnt down so didnt work out that way, and four of the retail Sales Numbers one thing i have done in research to look at relationship between retail sand s Consumer Confidence for august Consumer Confidence edged up a little bit we are likely to see retail sales bouncing back from august from dooir numbire. Numbers from home depot tjx pockets of strength broadly speaking retail numbers weak. Maria home depot, also online, you have to look at online, let me ask you about another story until the journal that is about the losses people continue to take money out of hedge funds they are under upcoming the story here is that there is exodus hedge funds under perform Broader Market journal poreing two biggest funds no exception jerry talk about this trend, the i was reading earlier the average hedge fund up 3 yeartodate. I mean really a disappointing lot worse. Hedge funds, they are expensive, 2 and 20 rule, that is often more in observance they charge a very, very high fee, for getting outsized returns last couple years not getting those returns there is a view i mentioned that, that there are too many hedge funds, used to be 200 hedge fuvendz 15,000 you too much money chasing returns, and they have become they are all you know suffering in this incredibly low yield environment, the story today was significant about it two very wellknown kind of iconic names in hedge funds sector howard, pulling back. No question in a world where rates returns much lower and growth all over the world, is much lower it is a little bit more challenging, but the purpose i think of hedge funds did i diversify the risk not always to perform to that you want them to outperform there is a celebratingup no question. 2, and 20 better out o perform. Despite kind of like gods of the financial universe they are just Like Mutual Fund managers charge more in terms of inconsuffocatancy. Why 2345i and 20 if they are not going to perform that is going on. That is going on, but if you look as you mentioned before, they tend to do a o lot breert when conditions are much worse they tend to do, not as well when conditions are improving, that is that is a fact of life. Mars space station what do you think. Very sad about current state of the American Space program so i am kind of optimistic, in the future about what private stray is doing even with elon musk even though elon musk had, points out in the wall street journal this week i just say in terms of hope that the days ahead much brighter for American Space exploration. Paul. That is program you know america led world in 1960s 70s, still a lot understand plea a lot of people saw it expensive after that what was point of sending missions to the moon it clearly is value to be had whether or not we are going to get to this situation where Richard Branson elon musk fly moon mars or vacations another matter but there is clearly, genuine value to be had in some of this extra terrestrial exploration lets hope they can do it. Would you want to go. I would ask. Yeah . With thunderer birds never been sick like that. No, i pulled nine gs in the jet set for 4 hours after that i dont know 24 hours after that. On in about the thing about the Space Program how many dreams born out of that innovation we need a generation who sees the impossible happen. My brother took my father to the air and spamuseum 80s biy i hope future generations do the same. Sparring over keeping American Companies competitive one ceo tells us what it means for the middle class stay with us back in a moment. Maria welcome back, demise of the middle class major policy point in 2016 election and the proof in numbers, according to pew research 50 american households fall into the middle class category now that is down from 61 , back in 1971, clinton trump attacked one another on nearly daily basis when it comes to their plan, for the working middle class. He is even called for a new tax wloop hole lets tall it the trump loophole. Because, it would allow trump to pay less than half the current tax rate on income for many of his companies pretty sweet deal. He would end up paying ae lower than millions of middleclass families. Hillary clinton literally will be four more years obama this means high taxes, she wants to double up taxes, and double taxes wont take care of what she is doing. I mean, peoples taxes are going to be doubled. Joining us right now co human scale bob king good to have you on the program thank so much for joining us. Thanks. As a manufacturer with two u. S. Based manufacturing facilities, in new york city your company and you have a viewpoint in terms of why this is happening tell us. I think what happened iney states we switched from manufacturing based economy 50 years ago in 70s, 30 ed mr. In manufacturing to day when less than 1 9 workers employed we are a Service Based economy now nature of a Service Based economy creates small number of jobs at top not many in the middle middle class jobs, a lot of jobs at the bottom people providing the services. Manufacturing, particularly, high value manufacturing creates a lot of good middle class jobs people that are engineers, manufacturing experts, technology those jobs large gone. How do jobs come back you look at Hillary Clinton plan for jobs Donald Trumps plan is it taxes or actual manufacturing when will create more jobs . I i would say neither plan will help blfrg i think both destructive toward manufacturing what we have to do to bring manufacturing back create an environment growing manufacturers with an thrive where growing manufacturers now you are crushed by tax code the worst tax code in the world for growing particularly for growing manufacturers. What is the you know debate about the extent to which manufacturing jobs as you say high conveying quality jobs have gone because of trade, but also the Technology Factor the fact a lot of manufacturing jobs increasingly even Service Sector jobs redundant technological innovation not just a question i take your point absolutely about taxes ally trump saying we need to bring jobs back to america or whether it is whether it is you know, Bernie Sanders saying we need to k impose trade embargo how do you feel with so many jobs replaced by machines now. Jobs in america are not low paying Assembly Line jobs those jobs weve lost the to low cost countries like china good for america, by the way, actually good for u. S. Manufacturing, because number one it allows American Family to buy goods services, goods primarily at very low cost it also allows american manufacturers to buy parts components from low cost countries that they can use to build products in america. High value products in america. Automation, when you talk about automation talking about automating the the Assembly Line workers jobs we dont want in america nanyway when you automate create mil class highpaying jobs that is not unhealthy situation if you look at the German Economy 20 manufacturing highly automated a vibrant middle class unlike United States, because 20 workforce is in manufacturing, those are great middle class jobs we dont have those jobs we lost the them the way to get back is to create environment where innovative growing manufacturers can thrive. Back to tax code. Tax code makes it impossible, so. Compare tax coeds between donald trump and hilt hill what do you think. Donald trumps approach is lets put lets put duties on countries like china that provide low cost goods to United States, that is a very bad idea could be really destructive for two major reasons, one those duties are simply a tax on the american consumer. Right . American consumer doesnt need more taxes. Also what is going to happen to consumption that is going to reduce culminationsumption w 1 growth as it is u. S. Manufacturers no one seems to understand this rely heavily on low cost parts components from countries like china to be able foefl make parts in the United States, we have free trade agreements with 20 countries around the world mexico korea. We have a trade surplus with those free trade countries of 12 billion dollars last year, free trade important for manufacturing. You like Hillary Clintons tax plan. No, i dont. You dont like that one in United States roughly 250,000 manufacturing companies, all but 3700 of them are small companies, the owners of those companies are going to be taxed higher so she is going to tax these manufacturers. Maria there you go good to see you thanks so much bob king. Well be right back. eeeeohmumohweh hush my darling. dont fear my darling. the lion sleeps tonight. hush my darling. man snoring dont fear my darling. the lion sleeps tonight. woman snoring take the roar out of snore. Yet another innovation only at a sleep number store. Maria welcome back good wednesday morning i am Maria Bartiromo it is wednesday, august 17, here top stories 7 00 a. M. On the east coast shakeup in Trump Campaign to report, republican nominee overhauling top staff, this move as trump set to receive his first National Security briefing, today, he spoke with fox news during a town lal to air tonight on his plans to take on isis. They are they are telling me they could do the job very very rapidly, now, very rapidly is longer than you like but could get the job done with presighings gspresitio choice we have to the out. Nsa under attack claims Security Agency may have been compromised is it retail rally will earnings from target lowes keep up the trend . Plus get ready for turbulent attractively massive number expected to head to the airport for the labour day weekend coming up, new menu item has taco bell fanatics in a frenzy we bring it to you to markets futures searching for direction, investors awaiting latet fed minutes due 2 pm peter dudley telling peter barnes we are edging closer to rates move higher stocks across the board lower, in asia major averages mixed in kaj up almost 1 on the session, all those stories coming up this morning here to break it down with me, Fox Business Network dagen mcdowell, wall street editor in chief jerry baker pollster lee carter great to see a you thanks so much for joining us another big scoop on trump overhaul. Thank you very much indeed bye change there obviously he sees the need for change, he had a very rough few weeks since convention trailing Hillary Clinton in polls a lot of criticism of him, personally but a lot of discontent in campaign a signal he was resetting that restarting, to very sr. , people coming in along newed manafort campaign chairman, clearly has role changed as to sr. , figures trying to accelerate his progress. One issue lee carter that you are seeing front and center firsthand, he is losing some independents. He has lost independents since the convention, and i think part of the reason is people are not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt anymore i think a lot of people said i like what he is going to bring change not establishment, i like that he is going to tell it like it is, but now he is seen as volatile he is seen as short tempered as a lot of things that scare people so just unwilling to give him the benefit of the doubt, what i think we are going to see one thing i think so important about donald trump is we have seen this three times in campaign he reacts to polls. When he sees losing he hates to loss, he is going tmake changes, i think really important he chose Kellyanne Conway because she is a pollster going to keep him to task force with numbers we know he reacts to numbers, and so i think if he can reset staib lives stop taking bait democrats a clear bait strategy he reacts over and over and over again stops doing that starting at. Examine commander in chief baiting one of the president ial candidates can he get independents back absolutely crushed among College Educated women in particular also even climbing educated men numbers dropped dramatically can he whether Campaign Shakeup or staying on message, a very positiving point people worded about temperament how do did you repair that 12 weeks. Hard a lot of folks out there saying there is no way, he can come back i dont think that is true, because when you talk to voters a lot of people say i am going to hold my nose and vote for this person, that is not donald trump. They dont want to vote for Hillary Clinton. Right, i think that what you see at the end of the day is people dont vote against. Somebody they vote for someone so people were saying going to hold nose likely not going to vote at all then you got to look at enthusiasm, of the supporters i think a lot of enthusiastic supporters for donald trump not as many for Hillary Clinton if he can win over some more people we are going to see that tighten and could be much closer than anybody anticipating at this point. A large chunk of the population of this country looking for a reason to vote for him, because they cant get onboard with her, because they dont trust her. Talk about new team as first reported by the wall street journal, Breitbart News could founder stephen banner chief executive pollster Kellyanne Conway prompted Campaign Manager as you said Paul Manafort stays as chairman what do we know about two i know Kellyanne Conway has been on this program. Wild respected longstanding pollster worked with ted cruz campaign, she is really wonder in republican circles reviving i think informally till now now given more formal role, and steve bannon a former Goldman Sachs guy, very successful in business, very successful with breitbart, you know, a conservative leaning Media Organization has been vocal in support of donald trump actually so these are the question really i think is we talked about this a little bit earlier is this how much does trump listen to people around him we know he listens to family sons and daughters particularly ivanka donald, jr. , very influential probably behind a lot of changes when you see them can he listen to people who say, you got to get you got to get on message stop doing frankly some crazy things got the in you so much trouble can he be guided in that way, again part of the problem here is that trump has been guided by his own instincts so long in business primary campaign served him pretty well so part of his problem is to say well i have been right so far why you go a is so smart. So many things around that, are negative around Hillary Clinton that he doesnt go to. He doesnt talk about, for example, just the week when he announced his economic speech, he came on this program, tuesday, to talk to us about economic speech, he should have been riding that economic speech whole week talking only about that. His own message you get we spent we had terrible gdp numbers few weeks ago. Should have jumped on that spent entire week talking about gold star family whether or not trump is you know sut insulting them there is a lot of material to work with, dagen says a lot of people looking for a reason, not to vote for Hillary Clinton they want to be reassured this is us someone they dont trust her, they dont trithink should he would be great president all concerns employ her look at donald trump think, i am not so sure. Maria right. All the missteps that he had much news did we miss about Hillary Clinton all things she did creates calles a interview got buried on that rical. Really. Important to be really critical. Absolutely. Foundation, whether or not they are investigations going on that are tough we keep hearing the stories of payforplay not talking about that, so we will see if this changes with new team in place, donald trump las made the case for why he is best equipped, to fight the war on terror, he made in it speech last night in wisconsin. To do this we are going to need a fighter in the white mouse i will be your fighter believe me i will be your fighter. The to defeat kraim radical islamic terrorism. Republican nominee gets first National Security briefing mike baker right now a former cia covert Operations Officer president of diligence Global Intelligence firm terror stop concern for voters do you think donald trump made the case last night that he should be the steward keeping the country safe . I thought it was the speech like previous speech i thought wasnt as well structured as it could be, and i thought a little bit all over the map. So i dont know that he really played t made the case look he could, he just it seems likes has a hard time staying on message. And what people want to hear i think is why he is different than potential Hillary Clinton administration. And i dont know that he is hammering that enough plenty of room plenty of opportunity to attack her track record, to attack chaos in middle east tie to it the Current Administration, and to hillarys time as secretary of state. Just saying this. One concern people had about that speech the other day, it was good he we assured people, frankly strange thing about nato, suggesting one point United States may not under donald trump may not come to the aide of a nato nation if inveigheded by russia, seems to have right that said no nato fighting terrorism that is important we need to do that but do you think one of the concerns about the speech was that bng cricketed so much in the past, he is criticized the object administration, for doing too much in middle east apparently not doing enough do people have a clear understanding do you think, mike what i think an important problem that inconsistency mixed messages, obfuscation, not helpful talking about Foreign Policy we have seen what happens over the past 7 1 2 years because the Current Administration president obama has done just that, the world has been accused where w confused where we stand positions from daytoday i think would behoove them to get on message, to take three or four points related to National Security, and Foreign Policy, and just keep hammering those, i dont know who at this point is driving that train, from his team of advisors well served. One point seems iran news 100,000 iran backed forces that are in iraq, raising the question of even if Islamic State is defeated, then what kind of power moves into iraq, and just given the fact that we cut this deal with iran, we sent them four hundred Million Dollars amazing reporting by the wall street journal, by the way, four hundred Million Dollars, on pallets in foreign currencies i think that is easy thing to explain to the American People of like this is where this administration has gotten us. If you cant make the case explain four hundred Million Dollars ransom payments, to government of iran, i dont know where you are at, but look it is unprecedented, the Russian Military running operations, out of iran. Think about that for a moment iran has more influence in middle east now than they have had in modern times a level of connection ties between russia iran we have never seen before, the fact that they are flying military operations into syria out of iranian bases is is unit is it is astounding , and not getting really any coverage to speak of. So front page of the journal pictures over syria. Look, trump regularly criticizes hillarys Foreign Policy that is insufficient . What else does he need to do to make that resonate. Needs to keep doing it mo aggressively louder the speech other day disappears in a rabbit hole about we should have kept oil in iraq. 70 this morning, by the way. People need to read that story to understand how astounding this is i dont know another word not eloquent enough writing for the wall street journal at the same time you and i not related but whether same posh accent. Better in the hair. I think, this exactly right these alliances you say make a point iran never stronger in middle east, russia has never had the role in the ine me actually that it mad this is a historic as you know better than in any way here, this is a Historic Mission of the United States is to limit russias influence in the middle east cold war, very successful job of it, postcold war russia withdrawing didnt look like ever a concern russia now. Only gotten stronger. Alliance with iran friends with turkey after problems right there, in syria. Military trades egypt havent had rip with egypt since nasa days look at what engaged in, correctly pointing out turkey overturz there direct opec in our cisco no doubt about it we look at this that is what trump needs to be doing he needs pointing out gave in the chaos, and he tried to i think, but it is speech again was too wobbly. So Hillary Clinton russia reset empowered rush ae pretty significantly. This Current Administration, their inability to you know to understand, that if were not the top of the food chain, somebody else is going to race in there chaos. Thank you good to see you. Thank you. Thank you so much stay with us. Maria hackers planning to auction stolen surveillance tools he apparently used by nsa Cheryl Casone with the story now. From target to brands some topheavy weights reported earnings biggest to watch what do earnings tell us about the consumer today weeks away from labor day if you plan going out of town you wont be the only one we will break down everything you need to know ahead of the Holiday Weekend stay with us, back in a moment i have got my mind made up maria earnings sen winding down as we go from retailers this morning lowes disappointing Second Quarter earnings revenue take a look at stock a loser it is trading down, target also cutting profit outlook for the year that is under pressure numbers actually for the quarter were better than expected. Joining us right now s p global Senior Analyst lindsey bell good to see you. How would you characterize earnings, better than expected down 2. 1 better than 5. 2 decline expected start of season you he mentioned retailers i would characterize retail earnings season very good i know we got mixed results, but growth for the retail is expected 13. 9 5 Percentage Points better than expected as start of earnings season bigger beats from online big surprises from department retailers helped drive upside have a low expectations for them going into quarterly report. Like macys saw reaction when it isnt ghastly i think a double digital gain on macys. Cut stores exactly but in terms of evaluations how much all this good news is priced into just no even last week youve had new record highs on amazon, tjx, you name it. I know that, everyone is buying into the second half, hope rally here stocks up more expensive i dont know right now is best time to get into retail, the second half setup is good comparisons easier weather seems a little more about favorable now everyone superjazzed about two extra shopping as the in holiday selling season there is a lot to look forward to i think have to prove themselves sales still especially Department Stores sales are still down, though down less than in the First Quarter so trend has been improving on a monthly basis throughout the Second Quarter that in general were seeing sales improving across all retail leading better growth margins inventory positions good thing back to scalp selling season so that wages are arriving, salaries incomes generally rising good news foreamericans after years of stag snaifgs is that leading to profit. We saw with tjx yesterday cut guidance because of that looking for pressure to continue through all of next year, but i think that is a good thing, because when consumer is making more money going to spend more money, so and gasoline praises on rise but still remained depressed feeling more confident, confidence a number very high levels we saw in most recent reports i think the consumer is in good shape. What he is big selling item into school back to school. We have heard really good things American Eagle Abercrombie Fitch macys all, that is big item. The Trump Campaign shakeup, republican nominees following his top snap, 90 days from the election. Trump on the attack against Hillary Clinton. Are you ready for change . Are you ready for leadership that puts you, the American People, first together . That puts our country first, america first, remember that, america first. Marymac we bring you the Campaign Shakeup on the day trump gets his first National Security briefing later today. Devastating images out of Southern California, the wildfire that forced 80,000 people from their homes. A shocking tale of survival, cruiseship passenger that survived 40 hours lost at sea. Get ready for long lines, massive number of travelers hitting the roads, the airport by the way, why mcdonalds is tapping into the wearable fitness market. Market searching for direction, investors awaiting the latest said minutes, giving us a window into the fed thinking at the last meeting. Bill dudley told foxbusiness we are edging closer, the fed will increase Interest Rates. Stocks that extend earlier losses lower across the board, the worst performer germanys decks and deck down 1 and in asia the major averages were mixed with the nikkei average in japan closing up 1 . Startling numbers on immigration, pew research, the us brought in 60,000 refugees since october 1, 2015. Of those refugees half of them are of muslim descent have donald trump says the United States is in big trouble. He sat down with sean hannity during a town hall, it will air tonight where he addressed his top concern. We can say it will never happen again, when we are doing by allowing thousands of people in the air, we dont know anything about will happen again because there is something wrong, we have to stop it. Marymac joining us is the president of the American Islamic forum for democracy, good to see you, thanks for joining us. Trump revealed details of his extreme vetting plan. What is your take in terms of the refugee inflow at 63,000, how do you see it . Good to reflect that the numbers show the percentage of nonmuslims that 50 . Some commentary that there was discrimination against christians and nonmuslims may not be as true as we thought but as mister trump mentioned the left had a blind eye against ideologies that threaten us, doing background checks from enemy regimes like syria and others. There has been no vetting, it left us vulnerable and some polling says 13 of those in europe had sympathies for isis. It is about time we talk about how to vet them against jihadi ideology and it is called spring bedding and the type of vetting that should be done, not right to come to the United States, make sure we are not allowing people to be insurgent against our way of life and time for Homeland Security to vet against political ideologies that want to destroy the west. Marymac this seems obvious to me at a time we are seeing isis say publicly we are going to infiltrate the refugee flow and yet you dont hear this from the left at all. It is not a concern and from the Mainstream Media by the way. It is fascinating because they dismiss it as racist, unfair but the bottom line is even at ellis island you used to have to have people vouch for you. You didnt come here without any background checks so i dont think this is extreme. They are using all these examples on the left of fear in the past, not examples of what we did from the beginning of time. It is a privilege to be here, you have to want to be here. Something the left does not touch is shameful, radical islam ideology believes in the suppression of women, suppression of gays, murder of anyone, lesbian or gay. Even those of different faiths. Donald trump said that explicitly earlier this week and that is an exclamation point for him. The left because it is so obsessed about left versus right, how to use muslims in this political partisan battle rather than how to keep america safe the left in europe has begun to wake up to this. The president of france called about a war against islamism. The head of britain called about identifying the ideology. The europeans are far ahead of us because they had more acts of war committed but we are not far behind and the muslim reform movements, have been calling for this type of vetting for years but we have been marginalized by the Mainstream Media, the left and others who want to use the bigotry of low expectations, somehow feminist issues, gay rights, dont matter to muslims, we will use them to check the box that we protect minorities, the majority of muslims countries dont protect those rights and dont share our values. Marymac some say this is unfair to muslims. Is a clear this isnt about muslims in general, specific radical islamic fact, that differentiation is not made on the left. Not just a ban on ms. s, but and most are against theocracy. And the fighting theocracy, one of the disconnects, and Common Ground with russia working with our allies, those are cauldrons whose leaders are theocrats and sharia states, we have to have a common vision, you cant say muslims share our values but we will work with dictators, mention positive things about qaddafi, Saddam Hussein and others who are thugs and vicious tyrants. They invited the father of the orlando shooter to shift behind Hillary Clinton. But that was a bad strategy that they invited him to sit in front of the cameras. The secret service, whoever was left vetting the people to sit behind her dont care about islamist ideology, supported caliban, might not be a violent extremist but it was not part of it but start the vetting, not only will it be important to immigrants trying to get in but security clearances to become much more germane. I thought that was extraordinary, to show where he was sitting. Trump News Conference highlighted another issue thinking of comparison from Hillary Clinton and uncle merkel, quoting a drudge report headline with a hashtag americans for uncle merkel. What do you think of this . I think the reason whiskey tango foxtrot the taliban shuffle mti strange days in afghanistan and pakistan happened is the eu is falling apart because of loss of national identity. 81 of british muslims say they are muslim first and british second. Angela merkel and the german country is starting to realize German Security will protect itself from the insurgency to bring with them. And most muslims dont believe that but vetting for it. As a muslim, i love going to mass but they dont welcome everybody migrating from those areas, are you for theocracy, europe hasnt done that and america has to lead them rather than leading from behind. Marymac some areas they will not acclimate. The us has done a better job assimilating, there is a great subsist story, one of the Great Success stories, waves of immigration. People came to escape economic deprivation. The us has done a particularly good job, and in terms of assimilating muslims in particular, the poll number in britain is the same in britain and france and germany, and european countries. They were quads i separate institutions, areas marymac follow sharia law. That has not been the case, dont have that kind of problem. That continues, muslims they support the basic tenets. Daymac government sanctioned multiculturalism across europe. The message for many years was build your own communities, do what you like, you dont have to follow daymac move to britain but dont be british. America is an idea. People come for religious freedom and ability to be individuals, not part of a tribal mentality, unfortunately europe has lost what it means to be british, german, etc. To welcome immigrants, they need to identify what those ideas are and this extreme vetting is about welcoming people who are here to share ideas. Marymac thanks so much. Coming up chaos at the airport, massive number of travelers head to the airport, everything you need to know to avoid long lines and for those feeling guilty for eating fast food mcdonalds is out with a new plan to stay in shape. And antiaging skin. They are 90 to cracks and crevices, slump up the cells and bluster is and it is a hydrate or. What this means, prevents the skin. Marymac stuff like avocado. And vegetables. What we say it is so important, and with natural melatonin, though sleep, wake cycle, circadian rhythms, and linked with improved duration. And improved quality. With magical potion. And our skin marymac should we be doubling up . Absolutely. Who needs injectables throughout the day . Any kind of tart and any kind will do it. Coming up next republican nominee donald trump, 90 days until the election, the journal broke the story. We have more on the shakeup of the Trump Campaign next. Marymac i am maria bartiroma. The republican nominee overhauling his top staff, less 90 days from the election. The move not slowing the war of words, trump taking aim at Hillary Clintons policies, warning support is not to get complacent even with regent poll increases. I where their opposition as a badge of honor because it means i am fighting for real change, not just partisan change where everybody elseets rich but you, a rigged system. I said it first and i will be saying it for a long time, we will break that system. Dont be complacent because even though we are doing fine, i am not taking anybody anywhere for granted. A new poll shows 24 of voters picked neither clinton nor trump but will they turn to a thirdparty . Gary johnson will way and. He joins us live coming up. Devastating images in Southern California. Look at this wildfire that forced 80,000 people from their homes. Tragedy in louisiana, the death toll up to 11 people as residents look to recover from the massive flooding. Marymac the response to the Kerry Walsh Jennings loss. We will bring it to you. Market searching for direction. They are waiting the latest said minutes, report from the last meeting at 2 00 eastern. Bill dudley telling foxbusinesss peter barnes we are coming closer to the time the fed will raise Interest Rates. In europe stocks have extended earlier losses, lower across the board with the dax index down in germany. The major averages were mixed led by the nikkei up 1 . Coming up to break it down, gerri baker and lee carter. So much to talk about. We keep talking in the break. Marymac my favorite story of the morning was the intense look at russia, the story around russia and iran has changed in the last year. The contest between them and nutrition and we learned more about food. And this is a dangerous place. We have had a very disappointing few years in the United States, so much power in the world, obama has been trying to do, russia, china in the ascendant, we have done this deal with iran, more power than it had since the irani and revolution. The Islamic State marching through, all the bad guys out there seem to be doing well, all the people we went to be doing well seem to be in decline. Marymac bad guys are Getting Better and stronger and we are shifting cash to them. Marymac do we know the schedule in terms of when the next money is due . I dont think americans understand what the schedule is in terms of more money, the 1. 5 million in terms of the iran deal in cold hard cash. Just last week we learned was one component. Do we know the schedule of when the next payment will go . Foreigners we havent released, that is the next installment. 2 million in us banks, the Supreme Court rules had to go to victims of uranian sponsored terrorism, iran once that, former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wrote to president obama asking for that money so you know there will be more pressure on us to hang over the cash. Marymac extraordinary story and we look to leadership that is happening, the journal broke the story, and overhaul of the Trump Campaign. Blake berman has the story. Good morning to you. After weeks of poll numbers and cries from republicans to bolster staff, donald trump announcing is expanding the top portion of his Campaign Team. Stephen bannon, of Breitbart News. Kelly and conway and Campaign Manager as a campaign chairman. Trump opted to deliver a scripted speech in Wisconsin North of the milwaukee area which faced violent protest in recent days, Hillary Clintons policies have failed inner cities and went further than that. We reject the bigotry of Hillary Clinton which panders time and talk down to communities of color and see them only as votes, that is all they care about, not as individual human beings worthy of a better future. New from the Trump Campaign, the first tv ads will air friday in the battleground state of florida, ohio, pennsylvania and North Carolina. Polling averages show he is trailing in those states on average anywhere from two to 9 points, recent polls moving in the wrong direction for trump there and across the country. Marymac blake berman right there, joining us now is sam clovis. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me back on. Marymac particularly the day we get news there is an overhaul in the Campaign Team. Paul mana40, does this change your role . My role has been expanding. Im working on to a lot of missionary work, outreach for the campaign and right now helping build a coalition, an important part of what we do. Marymac will donald trump be able to stick to message . Someone made a comment earlier on twitter, doesnt matter what changes you make in the Campaign Donald trump needs to stick to message and ride the things he feels the American People want to hear about, will he be able to do it . Of course. This is the focus will start coming back in as we get closer to labor day. To use the olympic analogy we are about to hit the bell lap and it starts and we get the dash to the finish and this is where we concentrate and focus, the American People will concentrate and focus and it will be a lot more definitive attention paid and these are the things that will help us along the way but choices are clear. Marymac this is what your supporters are worried about, things will take place after labor day, we have 90 days left, should we look at this overhaul as unrest close to the game day, election day 90 days away. We dont look at it that way. We look at it as an expansion. There is more and more responsibility out there and what we are doing is expanding the operation and it is positive to bring in more people to help out because that is one of the things we are doing on the ground, expanding the Transition Team. I got off the phone last night talking about these issues, how we are expanding and gathering more people to make this run on november 8th. Marymac a number of different folks in charge, some people might say there are a lot of chiefs. Who will take the lead . How will it create chaos or clear responsibilities . I have clear responsibilities and what we have in new york, a lot of people dont realize, we have operated as a team from the beginning. This is always people with multiple roles and skills, we have always been able to interchange and pick up for each other as time has gone on. What is different about this campaign is we have a lot of interchangeable parts, people are able to pick up and do things, this is one reason we have been as agile as we have been. One of the concerns people have in addition in the last few weeks is lack of Real Organization on the ground, lack of a ground game, the most important battleground states in ohio and virginia, the Trump Campaign is thin on the ground in terms of resistance, the Clinton Campaign has hundreds, thousands of field offices in some of these states. Will that be addressed or does the candidate not think that is a concern . I think we are addressing it and we are being very methodical and deliberate about it because you throw a lot of people and a lot of money out there on the campaign trail but you better be focused on what you are trying to achieve. One thing you got to do, people will start voting here in the near future, by the time the first debate occurs we will have some states voting, we are very aware of this and very cognizant and focused on what we are doing in the battleground states. Daymac what are you doing to get your messaging straight in terms of what surrogates are saying and more rapid response, pushing the message out to them in response to everything clinton and kane do on the trail . One thing i can tell you we talked about considerably. I check my phone constantly because we are getting updates and points you are talking about, very important. I dont think people realize this is very deliberate intentional approach to how you deal with your opponent on the campaign trail, at the president ial level it is on steroids, that is what we are doing. Donald trump will be briefed today, National Security briefing, can you tell us what is expected . You will get a general overview. They are not long, they are not the campaign doesnt have time but they are intense, you are giving them background material to help them and people answer those questions that you have. Mister trump will ask a lot of questions. I have been through this myself on the delivery side and i know how it will go. I would like to be a fly on the wall for this one. Donald trouble start running ads this week, tell us about that and what we can expect, you mentioned labor day and colleagues have said labor day will start, will we see a difference on television and newspapers, once labor day kicks off . A lot will be a positive message, what we are trying to do is create contrast between what we propose and what mrs. Clinton is proposing and it is very clear, and this will be the approach Going Forward you want to have reasons to vote for you as opposed to against you and this is where we will concentrate. Almost a quarter of voters not sold on Hillary Clinton or donald trump, libertarian president ial nominee gary johnson on countdown to november. A major change on the road, details on plans to go driverless straightahead in a moment. Good wednesday morning. Everybody, welcome back. Im Maria Bartiromo and its wednesday, august 17th. Newest poll numbers show that Hillary Clinton is leading republican rival donald trump by six points, 41 to 35 . Gary johnson coming in third with 8 Percentage Points and the same poll showed that nearly 24 of likely voters pick neither clinton nor trump. We want to bring in libertarian tomorrow knee for president and former new mexico governor gary johnson. Governor, good to see you, thanks for joining us. Thanks. I think that kaine has it pegged. Its been a crazy election season, maybe ill be president. [laughter] do you see this as an opportunity to grab votes, people saying i dont like clinton and i dont like trump either. You know, maybe thats the biggest factor of all, but you know, youre talking about two former republican governors, myself and bill well having served two terms each in heavily democrat states by being small government, socially inclusive, add to that the fact that these military interventions, the fact that we involve ourselves in regime change, has had a negative consequence, and were for free trade. Thats how you bring the world together. And diplomacy. Maria let me ask you this, you lowered taxes what, 14 times. You ran as a republican before for president. You talked a lot about small government. Do you think of yourself more as a republican . Over democrat . Well, i think the old addage in college that if you werent a democrat, you didnt have a heart and in later life, if you werent a republican, you didnt have a brain . I think weve all got hearts and brains and i think thats what libertarians bring together, this notion of small government, lower taxes, you know, keep government out of my pocket book, keep government out of my bedroom. Governor, how does your message differ from that of donald trump . Traditionally a lot of libertarians, a lot of crossover from libertarians and conservatives. What stops conservatives from supporting a libertarian position or candidate was it i cannily concerns about National Security in the sense that actually the u. S. Does need to play a much more active role in the world, get involved in the world, nation building, but an activist role. What do you differentiate yourself from donald trump, hes for smaller government, smaller role u. S. Overseas. How do you differentiate yourself from his voters . Well, for starters, he talks about deporting 11 million undocumented workers, now, that has a basis in complete misunderstanding of the situation. Immigrants are not taking jobs that u we should be embracing immigration, we should make it as easy as possible for somebody that wants to come in this country and work to get a work visa, it should entail a background check and a Social Security card so taxes can get paid. Look, building a wall across the border is crazy. I can just see the mexican president , donald trump take this wall down and you know what . Hes going to be on the right side of history. At some point, if trump is elected and if he does this wall, which is really asinine we will take it down at some point. Sandra governor johnson and then he talks about free trade, forcing apple to make their iphones and ipads in the United States and 35 tariff on imported goods . Sounds really free trade to me. Maria why is the wall so asinine as you put it. Shouldnt you have structures in place to know exactly the flow of people coming into the country and vet those people . Well, sure, but the reason why theres 11 million undocumented workers, maria, is because they cant get across the border legally and yet, the jobs exist. And forced to cross illegally. And by the way the illegal crossings now are at a 10year low so im not proposing anything change on the border, but building a wall across the border, were talking about 2500 miles and how is the wall going to work when it comes to texas and mexico when the border is the rio grand river. Are we going to build the wall on our side of the river, oh, i see right down the middle of the river, i mean, really, this is just, its crazy. Dagen governor johnson, you clearly have fans willing to fork over money to you, close to 3 million online in the first two weeks. What is the fund raising . Is it continuing at that pace and what are you going to spend the money on . Yeah, it is and i think, of course, spending our money on name familiarity, all of our all of our social media, all of those analytics are doubling about every three weeks, so, weve got both clinton and trump right where we want them right now. Theyre just going to sleep and Craziest Campaign season ever. Maria how do you say you have them where you want them. You dont have a seat on the debate. Are we going to see you . Don how are you going to get there . I think theres a better than 50 chance that there will be and im basing this on the standpoint, an analytic standpoint were reaching 25 Million People right now on social media and were doing it with really no resources at all. You pointed out the fact that recently were starting to raise very significant money, well, what happens when were actually able to play with this money . Well, stay tuned. I think i think this is going to get a lot more entertaining. Maria 15 support youll be on the debate stage at the end of september . Maria, im believing theres a better than 50 chance that thats going to take place. Maria okay. Of course, it starts with the discontent between those two candidates and that we are definitely different, socially inclusive, small government, military invention stop and this doesnt concern you in this campaign, but you were a republican, governor wells was a republican. What do you see, especially if donald trump were to lose, whats the future of the Republican Party . Do you see perhaps realignment perhaps along the lines that youve already carried out with more people becoming attracted to the Libertarian Party . Going through some crisis, do you think . I do, i think both bill and myself have verbalized that from the standpoint, its okay to be a social conservative, but if youre going to try and force that on others, thats a turn off when it comes to voters and support and i think thats where the Republican Party has gone. The Republican Party theyre all about small government. Well, that doesnt mean abolishing planned parenthood and that does mean addressing entitlements, medicaid, medicare, look, Social Security, lets not cut socl security, but there have to be reforms to scattered showers and military spending. These committees that said we could reduce basis by 20 . Well, thats not something thats being embraced at all and yet, those involved in those military, you know, what do we do to streamline the military, these are their suggestions. Maria here is lee carter. One of the questions ive got. People dont know you and you know, you talk about name recognition. What does your presidency look like, but not just in general. Im talking about specifically for americans daytoday lives. How would it feel different to them if you were to be president . Well, just there would be certainty. Theres be certainty when it came to jobs and the economy and that you could count on, you could always count on a couple and bill and i are planning a partnership as president and vicepresident. Were not planning separate staff. Staffs tend to divide, but when there is certainty, when theres certainty that, you know, here are a couple of wellthought guys, two former republican governors having gotten reelected in heavily democratic states, being fiscally conservative pan socially inclusive, i think theres a lot there that has historically shown to sell. Maria all right. And be successful. I mean, people will be you know, this is im not stepping off the street here, i havent been living underneath a culvert. I did get to serve two terms as governor and im going to argue very successfully and i think what this campaign has the opportunity of doing is, of course, shedding light on our resumes and i think our resumes hold up under the scrutiny that is really right now happening. Maria governor, i was just looking at twitter, a lot of people are talking about your stance on marijuana. How much revenue do you think that legalization would bring in . You know, maria, i have always said that the revenue from marijuana is going to get dwarfed by the savings in law enforcement, the courts and prisons. We have tens of millions of americans who are convicted felons that but for our drug laws would otherwise being tax paying law abiding citizens. On the revenue side, taxation side, hey, all positive, but back to law enforcement, the courts and prisons, thats where, the human toll of prohibition of marijuana has been more enormous than the dollars. Maria governor, good to have you on the program this morning, thank you very much. Thank you very much, maria. Maria well be watching. Governor gary johnson. The United States leading with olympic medals, 28, gold, silver and bronze medals for a total of 84 olympic medals. Stuart, good morning to you. Stuart actually, maria, i hope you dont mind, but i want to take a couple of minutes of your time to talk about the virtues of gambling in britain, okay . Just bear with me for a second. Maria okay. Stuart when i was a kid growing up in britain, the brits never won anything at the olympics. If they got a bronze, they were a hero. I think in atlanta. They won one gold medal and they said thats enough, so they started to divert money from the National Lottery system into athletic Training Centers and put a lot of money into it and obviously, its really worked out. If you could put up that medals county down. I know you were talking about it this a few minutes ago. Maria looking at it. Stuart the brits are in second place, are you kidding me . 19 gold medals, the brits . What is going on here. And to make that point earlier. Look at the numbers, 84 medals for the United States, obviously, and 53 for britain and United States is six times the size of britain, china is 25 times the size of britain and it really is one now, we have to say, stuart, you and i from britain, we go the used to not a lot offing success and a lot of people in britain would swap all of that for a soccer team that could gain, so its not all good news, but i have to say i agree with you. Youre absolutely right about the National Lottery, they did, put a lot of money, a serious effort into improving athletics and its paid off. Dagen so you gentlemen and gentlewomen are not cricket watching, layabouts. Stuart were not lagger and jerry, let me bring this up with you, the game of cricket has totally changed, im a lot older than you, its changed, now in 2020, i was at a game in australia on new years eve, and it was fantastic. I think were annoying our american viewers with this. [laughter] stuart, it still as boring as it ever was and never going to persuade people, im sorry. Stuart nothing like a fiveday tennis match, you love it. I was the captain of my cricket team at school, i loved it. Maria captain of the cricket team. Stuart were you the catcher . Retiring in style. The newest trend in Senior Living is condolike n an active life style. Buckner, a dallasbased developer is allowing residents to get the most out of city living with the option of additional care. Joining us a charlie wilson, executive vicepresident , and kirk and kendall hagan, two future residents of ventana. Thank you for joining us. Good morning, maria. Maria charlie, explain the backdrop here. This is a condo community, but not it is not a home and its not necessarily focused on caring just for elderly . Well, this is a Senior Living community, and its focused on seniors that are 62 years and older and its a Life Care Community that has a Health Care Benefit to it. So that they never have to leave the community to receive health care. Maria so, kirk and kendall, why did you choose to go with a high rise in the middle of the big city instead of retiring, for example, to a quiet suburb . [laughter] well, i retired about three years ago and we wanted to stay in dallas. We like dallas, weve lived in big cities before, but ventana offered the Life Care Program so were really moving into the first phase of life care and the building looks fantastic, cant wait to move in. And i like the space, it will be like living on a cruise ship, one of my favorite things to do. Maria how hard is it going to be for both of you to be picking up and moving at this stage of the game . Well, this is the yeah, no big deal. Maria no big deal for you . This is the sixth largest city that weve lived in. Philadelphia, chicago, new york, london, Oklahoma City and it looked like a perfect solution for us. Maria isnt that great . Charlie, what does the future of Senior Living look like . I think the future is bright. We have 10,000 baby boomers retiring every day and seniors want to be active, engaged, learning, and theres going to be, these baby boomers, its shifted everything as theyve gone through the Different Things from raising kids to now retirement. So, theres going to be a lot of opportunities and theyre going to have a lot of demands that were going to have to step up to meet. Maria let me ask you this, charlie. Whats the best advice for those seniors out there who are needing to make a change in their lives, move near a child or move into one of these facilities, which is clearly going to be very different to what they were doing before and the way they were living . Whats the best advice for them . I think conventional wisdom says not to try and follow your children, they may move, if you move to where theyre at. This type of community and others like it really, people that are planners plan for this because they dont want to burden their children. I think thats probably the best advice i would give is to make sure you have control of your life and dont leave it up to others. Maria thats a great point. Kirk and kendall hagan, good luck. Well be watching the adventure that is ahead. Charlie, good to see you. Well watch you as well. Thank you so much, everybody. Thank you. Thanks, maria. Welcome back. I want to thank my panel.
