Hillary clinton clinching the president ial nomination at the Democratic National convention. President obama and Vice President joe biden headlining tonight is ernest ingersolls protest. Blake urban life in philly with the very latest. Good morning to you. Hi, maria. Good morning to you. Democrats tried to bring things full circle. Tonight im going back to 2008 after bitter primary battle. Hillary clinton then submit the nomination for barack obama as the democratic nominee of the United States. Eight years later after a very tough primary battle last night, it was Bernie Sanders who submitted the nomination for hillary than 10. Later that evening she made a susurprise appearance by video, talking about breaking the Glass Ceiling which you spoke about for years, while her husband, bill clinton the keynote speaker tried to make the case that clinton would be the best d. C. Change agent. The if there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say i may become the first woman president , but one of you is next. Hillary is uniquely qualified to seize the opportunities and reduce the risk we face. She is still the best darned change maker i have ever known. While the democratic heavy hitters will be back at the command of as president obama and Vice President biden are scheduled to speak along with tim came, Hillary Clintons running mate of course. Blake bergman here with us in philly. Democratic strategist richard goodstein. Good to see you. Good morning. Big night tonight. What is your take on history being made. We should look at the bill clinton at the bill clintons speech at the start of the night. Tom versus content in contrast to his counterparts in cleveland. His was conversational, trying to tell a story. Obviously from the heart. In contrast to the lonnie trump who used Michelle Obamas words and donald trump who looked into the teleprompter in my humble opinion, reading like a sixth grader. Somebody else wrote i dont know that was reassuring and i dont think bill clinton was doing anything other than the rate he wants, which is the Cartoon Version of her versus the real version of her, somebody whos delivered change for the disabled. And for education, health care is so forth. Shes done more than people who spent a lifetime in public policy. Maria how do you make her out to be a change maker would she said clear she will continue everything in place already the president obama has put in place. If you look at what shes saying about education and health care. Dagen about everything. She gets down into the weeds. You are afraid. People say she does have the Bumper Sticker version and that is something shell have to address tomorrow night. Hope care she was to expand. Trump wants to deny people. My question is how does that represent change. It is a change for people who are not having health care, who dont have access to education. Thats an enormous change in the lives of people who are now getting out of college and strugglinstrugglin g for decades to get out from under debt. I am trying to be as fair and spirit im really trying to be fair and balanced, but his speech was so good that with the Team Independence right now. I dont think he sounded like a sixth grader. If he were being selfcritical, he talked too long because he has so much applause that it carried over in to an hour and 15 minutes. I dont think redfaced screaming for 75 minutes back enough is something that is reassuring. That is a point in time. Lets talk about 10 days from now. That always happens. Weve had several polls. A couple show him getting the 4. 5 or six. Several have been dealt one or two. So lets talk again. Youre dodging the independents. Plus 18 on the independence after the speech. Lets talk 10 days from now after whatever bug hillary get settles out. We will have some sense as to where people are. I look at these conventions and i dont think it is bad and this week. I dont think he judged the speakers against each other. You judge each candidate individually. The speakers last week would influence of ones opinion of donald trump and mike pence. The speakers this week could influence the way people feel about Hillary Clinton. The highest theyve ever been in the cnn poll is. People have an unfavorable rating. The highest National Page with bill clinton and i think that is still a question. Anthony is focusing on the polls. We will see after the convention settles out. My answer is the way he framed it between the Cartoon Version which is will be heard in cleveland versus the reality of her record is this untrustworthy number. How shes more knowledgeable. Ive got a pair of huge compliment. Here they are colluding together at the gm seed to make her number one. Doesnt matter. The change cronyism, but they are manipulating the system. And no one wants to talk about it. Maria i do not like the manipulation of the media in particular. Further, democrats alleging russia hacked the dnc email to this dollar terms chances in november. To hear president obama actually tell nbc it is probably trying to help donald trump is such a manipulation. Lets not forget his former secretaries tape Madeleine Albright weighed in. Lets listen to this verse. We do know that the russians have persisted. Not just Government Systems and private systems, but what the motives were in terms of links, all of that. I cant say direct way. What i do know this donald trump has repeatedly expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin. Truth is a trumpet jury in november would be a gift to Vladimir Putin and given what weve learned about the russians reach an action, putin is eager to see trump when. Should worry every american. Trade to who remembers the famous sound bite when obamas mike was so good and he was talking to but that is in 2012, president obama was caught on a hot mike moment but the former Prime Minister dmitry medvedev. After my election [inaudible] maria okay, you transmit that information. President obama saying himself after the election i have more flexibility and yet he creates a narrative that putin is in bed with trump. To manipulate the media that much is really extraordinary. Thats one way to put it. Trump himself is the one who said if putin made moves towards the baltic state, hes not sure they back up nato. Trump is the one who said maybe we should let russia control syria, have that be their problem, not ours. Tread to trump didnt write these emails. The story is collusion around Hillary Clinton within the dnc. Russians didnt write emails either. My hats off to you. She thought she was going unchallenged. The 74 euros socialist takes 40 of the vote. They set their hair on fire. There was also some nastiness about ethnic groups and stuff like that. Its ridiculous. We get accused on our side of the disc and not in racially charged. Donald trump being accused by republicans of being a racist bigot tina felt, but and it can con artist. Republicans, not democrats. Get the guns back on. You had a good night last night. God bless you. You are doing a phenomenal job with the whole media thing. I dont know how you do it. Maria i want to hear this. Dagen the problem is to get all these people close to democrats and most of them care too much about being liked by them. They get close and they want to be the party said they want the interviews enabled the honest. We dont get invited to the parties. Trade to make sure tune in to our special pride and coverage denied. We will be right back. Maria welcome back. A big week for corporate earnings. Apple insider after the close said that earnings were down 27 . The company struggled with a prolonged slump in sales. Apple topped Analysts Expect patients on the earnings and revenue lines, sending the stock higher. Apple getting nearly 27 . Apple is going to be impact team the broader averages. After the microblogging company pose as the worst of the new growth and weak user numbers. Kevin kelley is in a new york studio, breaking it all down. I want to get your take on those two names, plus the fomc meeting statement and more earnings to talk about. What is your take on what we saw last night at apple . Is really great apple earning to give us an indication on to import things in the marketplace and 90 seconds or as well as china. Both were a little bit disappointing. In regards to the consumer, we see a lot of sales came from the apple st model, the smaller, cheaper version. We see people move into that. That has a negative impact on the margins for apple. Apple two quarters ago had hinged a lot of their Growth Prospects for china. When that happened, that is why the market started supporting the stock. We saw this quarter can cook said it was a really tough quarter. They thought apple sales declined 7 from two quarters ago. That further reassesses what Howard Schultz says from his tarbox last week. We are really going to have start looking at other earnings coming out and see what they say about the consumer as well. Howard schultz said there is a profound weakening and can give her confidence. You see the market trading over the last couple weeks. A couple things about apple. When a stock like that is down, it was down this year and last more than a fifth of its value before they move toward earnings down 22 in the last 12 months. When you have this documented that, a little better than expected news do something for the site. Maybe its one day, but this is a good thing for the cub any. If you look at what twitter says, this is one twitter should be doing okay in terms of advertising. The social Media Company warned advertisers with its main source of revenue and that the outlook for the third quarter. In a year when it is all about social media election, that is a very sad about twitter shows a fundamental flaw in the business if you will. Of them as caterpillar and other names have a window into the economy. What was your take . We make those are okay and they can always be fractured earnings if they need to. Right now we have the highest levels of cash sent 2001. That is typically a very bullish sign. People are chasing the ever elusive field, but at some point they will tactically allocate into the market, which will be polish. The other thing about twitter is someone should go distract the tire Business Model because we use it and we made her blog on it ended a successful for us. It is just too quickly. Facebook is a much better medium for advertisers. They could get more users. Dagen i dont know if they could revamp for one reason. Twitter might be the way people behave on the social media flap for unlike facebook does not reflect the real world life so it makes it targeting very, very difficult. You voted twitter to get whatever news youre going to get into the fog. He spent time looking on the site. They need to come up with a way to eyeball capture and get people to stay. 140 carrots vers. If they cant change it, theyve got to sell. Train to the last sports program. Maria this has been the issue. How do you make money on it as a company . Kevin, reports after the close tonight. Any expect is there . This is one of the names everyone is watching because people think it is priced for perfection. They are the video advertiser, the mobile platform with 80 of the revenues for mobile appeared their trading at 31 times forward earnings. What is nice to know is the price earnings to growth ratio is 1. 4. If we look at another game reporting, it is cocacola trading at a 4. 1 price earnings ratio is so they have the growth and that is where its going. To the chagrin of twitter and we saw that last night in twitters earnings. Facebook is going to be on the top and bottom line. Theyve got the olympics with the election coming. A blockbuster stop right now. Maria plus facebook lent a skill event. Just to be clear, Apple Earnings were down 27 . In this characterization of the screen. Still better than expected. Kevin, thank you. Outrage over late dnc emails has been a scandal comes to life. Details on the fund raising favoritism straight ahead. Chaos on the streets of philly is delicate come together to nominate Hillary Clinton last night. What it means for democratic unity. Back in a moment. Protests still outside, angry Bernie Sanders supporters, blocked streets after clinic secured nomination heated with fox news, protests even poured water on his head. Donald trump to tap into angry ev angriever telling poland gears up for a visit from pope answer from details in wake of the killing of a priest in france yesterday. In business, this morning, earnings driving activity Deutsche Bank a Second Quarter income plunged 98 from year ago more than on turnaround struggling ahead technology earnings, looking good with apple up this morning sh, staged a sitin after Hillary Clinton was officially nominated as they were sitting there, they were chanting things like this is what democracy looks like and other probernie tents. Even though Hillary Clinton told his people it really symbolizes how much bernie becomes how much it becomes a movement than a man. Meantime outside in the streets of philadelphia, black lives matter made voices heard. [shouting] they were demanding white journalists in the back of the line. Hundreds of philadelphia came out because they feared the black lives matter folks would shut down intersections, that probably did not happen. The tens of thousands demonstrators that folks were worried in the streets of philadelphia simply has not happened but if you come herb to the flash point of this fence it symbolizes the tension between the bernie supporters and the dnc delegates. In really star contrast as we saw in cleveland, the folks have a significant gripe, they have thing thathat theyre upset they want which is Bernie Sanders. The question is now that Hillary Clinton is the nominee, we will see popup flairups in the United States. Maria more now on dnc email scandals. The dnc try today hide details of fundraising with Hillary Clinton. A fraction of 82 million raised through lavish fundraisers between Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National committee. With me author of pothole confidential. Whats your take on this. How do you explain what the dnc was doing on Hillary Clinton . Can i address, theres no wall thats keeping bernie supporters out of the hall. Bernie supporters are great activists, they are my congressmen and state representative and i dont agree anymore about bernie the man. Bernie has a lot of respect from me and others. They are inside of a game and outside of a game. Let me go to the dnc, im going around this morning, something went wrong and when something happens in our organization, you look people in the eye and you say we made a mistake. I dont believe the entire dnc should be tainted by this. I think there are individuals that stepped over the line and favored one candidate over another and when that happened they should not be doing their job. The good news what we have done is we have changed leadership. We have a new chair but more important, i think theres a real clear sign from all of us in leadership saying this should not be tolerated and thats thats where we will move on from here. Maria the supporters of Bernie Sanders and protestors outside they feel like its too late. He had a shot to win and hes out. Yeah. Maria you cant undo it at this point. Theres that sentiments inside and outside of the hall. I understand that. I do not believe that let me put it differently, Hillary Clinton won the election. I think there should have been more debates. I was public about that. Thats a legitimate debate. If they are favoring one or the other, that shouldnt happen. Lets get real, Political Parties have plenty of people who are in the organization who favor one or the other. Im sure there are plenty of people at the rnc who favor bush, we are just not going to tolerate in the Democratic Party. Over time we will ask ourselves, what is heck is going on here that we have all of these emails that are going to come out either leeked in convention and the connection of the russian government. I dont understand it as to why something broke into watergate. The bottom line is we apologize and we move forward. I have a question for you. Your fellow vice chair talking about that Debbie Schultz may not be up to the job and up to the task, why did it take so long, you were sounding the alarm a couple of years ago. The president at that point the leader of the party could have stepped, he chose not to, do you think he made a mistake . Less than a year ago. The point is valid. You know, i think in any kind of leadership we want the leader to succeed, okay. I think thats specially complicated in a Political Party where the process its not like a company with board of directors, its not like a business. Its kind of a complicated issue how you remove somebody like that because you have to call a huge conggress of folks. I think that was part of it. I do think also the emails have been helpful in the fact that when you expose any organization to the underbelly, youre going to have some stuff and that in this case impose some things that didnt happen. Dagen you had one email showing what you call blatant antisemitism. That was deeply wrong. I found out as a mayor that there are people in the organization that would do things over the line. You have to step in and fix. The most important is yo have you to create a culture in the organization. If theres anyone in the Democratic National committee who wouldever, ever think of sending an email like that again, they should know clearly that that wont happen. I think every organization should do that. So more people step down, senior Staff Members step down . I dont think debbie set the tone that really said that we should be as inclusive as we need to be. That is a policy disagreement between two individuals about how leadership happens, but i think its very important for the next chair of the Democratic National convention to say the power of the committee has always been that we bring folks in. I came in turning from republican from democrat because of the Antiwar Movement in vietnam when i was young. Thats the kind of things the Democratic Party we are like the family of thanksgiving where they are yelling each other and hug each other on the way out. Thats democrats. We dont mind people marching the streets. We like issue the maria by the way, it was followers on twitter that pushed you to put american flags on the stage. People were complaining about it on twitter and now there are american flags on the stage, you made the change yesterday . Not this one at the star. I have no idea what thats about. Dagen one thing about clintons speech last night, when someone talks about back in 71, i need to get the bottle. [laughter] anthony did you like the speech . I thought he finished start. I didnt like the beginning. The beginning was not great. He was most genuine when he was talking about chelsea. That was the highlight of the speech. Dagen hes the uncle you hide from family dinners. You go to the kitchen because youll never get away from him. Maria does that help her, you know, talking about meeting in 1971 and her as the person as oppose today opposed to what she might do. Her approvals are very high and he needs to do what he needs to do, rehumanize her and needs to put some of that pixie dust that he has on her. Anthony did he do that . Whats interesting about bill clinton is not a man that can be contained and i felt like he was trying to contain. Hes probably not the big dog that we saw for president obama. Anthony i think he was trying to thread the needle on the speech, he doesnt want to overshadow her on thursday. Maria we will talk to mike pence on that. We have a cantmiss lineup. Former Texas Governor and president ial candidate himself rick perry is here and philadelphia 76ers ceo, tom will join us as well. A lot to come. Keep it right here. You dont want to miss a moment of it. Hillary clinton officially clinching the democratic nomination last night. Dnc will be headline tonight by the man who made hillary wait eight years, president obama to address delegation tonight. Blake, over to you. Blake hi, there to you. The democrats try today bring things full circle last night. You might remember in 2008 after a bitter primary, it was Hillary Clinton on the Convention Floor who submitted the nomination of barack obama for the democrats nominee for president of the United States. Fastforward eight years and after a very tough primary battle in which there have been a a whole lot of tensions among Bernie Sanders supporters, it was sanders himself here in the Convention Hall who submitted the nomination of Hillary Clinton for the democrats nominee for president of the United States making her the first woman to lead a Major Party Ticket. Afterwards clinton herself made a surprise appearance by video talking about breaking the Glass Ceiling that she has talked about for months and after that the head liner was her husband bill clinton who try today portrayed her as a dc change agent. If there are any little girls out there who stayed to watch, let me just say, i my become the first woman president but one of you is next. Hillary is uniquely qualified to seize the opportunity and reduce the risk we face and she is still the best darn change maker i have ever known. [cheers and applause] blake well the democrats will bring out the heavy hitters once again tonight as tim kaine will be among speakers and Vice President joe biden and president obama. This very well could be one of the major last speeches that president obama gives while in office. Maria thats true. It will be watched. Blake, thank you, blake berman with the latest there. Hillary clinton had plenty of support from numerous speakers last night including her husband as she made history. Lets take a listen on some of the highlights. Let me just say i may become the first female president but one of you is next. Thank you all. I cant wait to join you in philadelphia. Thank you. [cheers and applause] were you can drop her in any trouble spot, pick one, come back in a month and somehow some way she will have made it better. That is just who she is. She knows that safe guarding freedom and security is not like hosting a tv reality show, it is a complex roundtheclock job that demands not only a steady hand and a cool head but also a big heart. Maria joining us the chief Campaign Strategist to Hillary Clinton during 2008 president ial campaign mark. Mark, so good to see you, thank you for joining us. I thought last night went very well. First during the day we had the nomination of the first woman president ial candidate from the Democratic Party and i think that is a major event for all of us and i think she was quite right to speak to the out to the youngest women out there listening in the audience that this was a historic moment. I think she started in 2000 on a political career that really was historic to have a first lady really make this transition through being a senator, being secretary of state and now the first woman president ial candidate. Maria it was a nice touch seeing all the i think shes continued to gather more experience and more learning, i think to be prepared for this moment, to be president of the United States. I know her certainly as she started her career in politics, what an exceptional senator, a great secretary of state during the time of international turmoil. Anthony in 2012 president obama said that president clinton was the secretary of explaining stuff because he made a phenomenal speech in 2012. Do you think he was the secretary explaining his wife last night, do you think he did a good job doing that . It was an exceptional speech. It was highly unusual because of the personal nature of it, you know, normally as he talked last time about president obama and he really made the case for president obama on the issues, really saying, look, president obama had made the pivot in the economy in the way people hadnt recognized. Last night he was saying, look, number one i know her from the beginning and i know the kind of person she really is that shes really a change maker and to do it in a personal almost offthecuff intimate way, i havent seen anybody do that. You didnt really talk about it as much. Do you think in your first and foremost and i was curious that by highlighting that she risks turning off some of those white men that shes going to have to get to some degree if shes going to win the campaign . I dont think it was so heavy this time. I think its an element but i think that shes also as she was last time ready to be commander in chief and the balance that shes on a historic path for women. Dont forget a lot of parents are looking at their daughters, i think thats what we are going to see coming on this Convention Floor. Anthony you know the clintons for a very long time but our viewers dont get a chance to interact them personally, what would be something that you would want to share about the two of them personally that the average person wouldnt be able to know . The level on which they rely upon each other and call each other and show rely she relies on him and he relies on her, incredible powerful relationship. Maria what about the dnc email situation at this point . Hillary has hired debbie shots, what does that mean . The dnc emails are serious issues, they are playing themselves out. I think theyre going to do a proper investigation here both how this happened, did russianstate actors really intervene here and i think also any of the things that were inappropriate i think wont happen again. I think there are some obviously i were appropriate things in the email. Maria was there a coordinated phone call or meeting to say lets turn in the russia angle every time this issue turns up . I have no idea. I think its pretty obvious, back in 2008i h the fbi visit me, they thought the mideast had hacked into my emails, i think theres no question that when the fbi shows up they tell you what they think and its something that the campaign knew. Maria mike penn. More on Devastating Blaze that devastated dozens of homes. Pokemon go dethrone. Up next which app is crowned as the new top favorite. Maria welcome back a state of emergency declared in california because of two major wild fires that has destroyed dozens of homes and killed a person in the area. Cheryl the fires are still burning today. This is happening in remote area in Northern Edge of la and santa calrita. The parks facilities at least are not threatened right now. People are concerned for the safety of people who try to travel through the area. Its summer right now. 58 square miles have burn so far with 2800 people force today evacuate their homes. Most have returned as of last night. One of the headlines this morning, if you havent bought power ball ticket for tonight you might want to get one. Three months without a winner, the chances of whipping about 292 million to 1 but players have odds about winning smaller prizes, those can generate up to a Million Dollars in prizes. Three weeks after 536 milliondollar Mega Millions jackpot was awarded in the state of indiana. And finally pokemon go still got but not longer top app after leading app for nearly three weeks since debut earlier this month, pokemon go has been replaced emoji, was bought by snapchat earlier this year and we have done segments on emoji but still money to be made. Pokemon go could generate ten billion in revenue over the next two years over purchases. Maria thanks, cheryl. Up next, star contrast to the rnc which hit National Security hard last week. Which president ial hopeful will protect america best. We are breaking it down next. Chaos on the streets of philadelphia as delegates come together to nominate Hillary Clinton. Fox news Geraldo Rivera weighs on the president , what it means to the unity, thats in the next hour. We will tell you which lucky tech giant snatched the popular hit. Back in a moment. Maria welcome back, republican nominee donald trump slamming the Democratic Party for fail to go mention isis or the war on terror on day one of the dnc. We need to change our Foreign Policy to focus on defeating and destroying isis, a word you didnt hear last night at the democrat convention. You didnt hear it. They dont want to talk about it because in a very true way they really established isis because of weakness. Maria trumps remarks come came early Tuesday Morning allowing democratic speakers allow to go update before the tuesday night speeches. Democrats know we need to be strong and smart to destroy isis and protect america, not reckless and rash. And this is the Hillary Clinton i support, the one who has been in the arena who knows what it will take to keep america safe and defeat and destroy isis and has demonstrated the leadership and determination we need in our next president. Maria missing from that clip was former secretary of straight who removed two references to isis from earlier version released to the media. Military at Marine Corps University and defeating jihad author sebastian gorka. My pleasure, good to see you, maria. Maria first another tragedy in terms of isis in france taking a stabbing the priest. Your thoughts on that and where we are in this fight against isis. Yes, its really its horrific, you wake up and you turn on the news and you switch on your social media feeds and what do we find, day after day and after day an attack, a pregnant woman here, ied at Music Festival a priest practically beheaded in front of church in france, jihadis are on a rampage and expanding in a way that we have never seen before and it seems like if the left hasnt noticed it or only prepare today mention it when a certain president ial candidate from new york reminds them that isis is out there and isis is growing in part because of the policies of the current administration, maria. Maria so what about the policies and policies expected . As we move closer to the november election, which candidate has propose it had best policies, can you talk about the best way to defeat isis and who would be best at it . Its not easy, maria, to talk about concrete policies from either Hillary Clinton or mr. Trump. The only thing that we are sure of is that Hillary Clinton would really be at least, at best a third term of obama. Im not going to use the word radical islam. I refuse to say anything about the religious component of the enemy we face. This is what we have heard from the last seven and a half years. The denial of who the enemy is. She desperately tried to get on fox news and start today talk about radical jihaddism as if theres a nonradical version of jihaddism. So if you look at her track record, the disaster in syria, the disaster of the deaths of our embassador, three other americans in benghazi, the russia reset, libya, you name it, we know that it will not go well for the future and probably make americans more in danger that they are already. If we look at mr. Trump, he doesnt have a National Security background. He hasnt given details on what he is going to do against the threat but one thing he has made obviously, maria, he has had enough of political correctness. And on top of that, its very clear that for him, we are at war. This is a war to the death with the jihadis and donald trump clearly wants to win that war. So i think thats what you can definite i will say about the two candidates. Dagen but sebastian, does it bother you that we are not hearing more detail on how hes going wage that war and even when asked in 60 minutes about boots on the ground and putting troops there, he quite frankly dodged that question . Yeah, it does bother me as a person who eats, drinks and sleeps National Security issues. I want to hear a little bit more. I know some of the people in campaign staff. I advised mr. Trump last year before anybody took him seriously on National Security issues. Im not part of his team today, im not part of National Security and those people know what theyre talking about, people like wally farris, i want to see the words and ideas of best team members be champion by the president ial candidate, so, yeah, i really love to hear more. I know that you have obviously ties to eastern europe, are you troubled at all by his whole distancing himself from nato essentially saying we are not going to the defense of our nato allies necessarily and his relationship otrying to have a relationship with Vladimir Putin who i think you would agree is not necessarily the best actor with respect to american interests . Yeah, weve got to watch the conspiracy theories here. He didnt say we are not going to defend our nato allies. I actually published an article on this. He said, we will support our allies if they standby their commitments that they have made which is a really reasonable statement to make. If youre being a free loader, why do i have to bail you out. So he said that we will standby estonia if they stand true to their word. You look at nato behavior, only five nations out of 28 are reaching the 2 gdp figure for their own defense. Thats pathetic. For the last 20 years, the majority have taken our security, our provision of their security for granted. So, you know, trump is applying some common sense which maybe scary for some but its about time. Maria its great to have you on the program this morning, thanks so much. Thanks, maria. Maria we appreciate it, we will see you soon. Up next the stars of the Democratic Party, we will. Announcer live from the 2016 Democratic National convention in philadelphia, pennsylvania once again here is maria bartiromo. Welcome back good wednesday morning to you we are coming to you live from the Democratic National convention, here in philadelphia, it is wednesday, july 27, here are top stories 7 30 a. M. Reporter , good morning to you, you know donald trump not giving an inch to Hillary Clinton aggressively counter programming the Democratic National convention this week, got that press conference, here at trump doral golf course 10 30 this morning, yesterday you he mentioned he was in charlotte speaking to veterans of foreign wars conference that Hillary Clinton addressed the day before donald trump outlining a 10point plan to reform Veterans Administration insisting that if Hillary Clinton is elected president nothing will change. Er who is trump from yesterday. We can do all of of these things, we simply need to stop relying on politicians who created problems in the first place. They are not going to do anything i all them all talk, no action. That is what they are politicians, all talk, no action. Pr pushing hard against claims by Bernie Sanders, that the did Democratic Convention he would allow states to reduce the minute wage below its current level 7. 5 an hour, donald trump is on record saying, he opposes federally mandates minute wage thinks minute wage should rise. Sound bite a while ago maria saying should be 10 dollars, here is how he is pushing back against what Bernie Sanders said last night on bill oreillys program. He lied last night mean it was a total lie, and he everybody said it in fact, some of the folks on your network said wow that was really a lie he said that i wanted to go less than minute wages a new one because i am the republican that said in some cases we have to go more than minute wage. After braes conference the campaign trail got a meeting in scranton pennsylvania two hours away, from a philadelphia where Democratic National convention is held on to leado ohio stops in iowa, then two stops in colorado to finish out the week, this is very unconventional typically opposition candidate is dark during opponents convention Hillary Clinton did not do that last we can for a couple days, but donald trump, of course, taking to it new heights, maria maria all right, john thank you, john roberts, this morning. President bill clinton making a case for his wife, following her official nomination listen. Hillary is uniquely qualified to seize the opportunity and reduce the risk we face, and she is still the best darned changemaker i have ever known, [cheers and applause] maria my next guest says the president s message to the delegation is at odds with Hillary Clinton message on the campaign trail bring in bring i know york chief Political Correspondent great to have you on the program. Good to be here. Explain things. Dnc staff is great handing out signs Michelle Obama here a big michelle sign, strong theer stowing, last night they were handing out changemaker signs idea Hillary Clinton a changemaker, recently the wall street journal poll asked people, would you prefer a candidate who will bring major change to the way the government operates, even if it is a little bit unpredictable or would you prefer a standardier candidate even if it doesnt bring a lot of change, chane won big 56 to 41, see amazingly enough, Hillary Clinton becomes a changemaker. But if you look at her performance on the campaign trail, last few months she is always talking about how steady she is obviously trying to portray donald trump as dangerous and volatile unpredictable, so she is the steady one more evidence of steady than change. Also said very clearly, that she wants to build on many of obamas policies, like obamacare, like doddfrank. Another problem with changemaker running to the third term, of the president of your party i mean you are kind of limited in the amount of change you can promise. Does that work juli. It icing really, really hard needle to thread, because in the one hand, if you pointed out rightly she is running for a third term she is steady experienced candidate, but you do see this yearning out there for change, and, you know, what is interesting about polling i have seen one hand people want a different direction dont think country is going the right direction on the other hand i have seen that notion, in 2012 every time you have seen that obama got reelected 12 in fact hope and change. Approval in tomorrow the 2012 no i over 50 what kind of change do they want they want change in status quo is status quo, something that they are disgusted with all politicians something you hold your nose vote for one you vote for one more change with consistent with your views or vote for unpredictable guy you dont know what he is going to do. It against how bad voters think the status quo is right now, the socalled right track wrong track question in all the polls, are showing somewhere twothirds to 70 voters think that the kin is on the wrong track. Obama won election. Incumbent president running think about 2008 Hillary Clinton got out changeded by barack obama he promised change more effectively than she could, and things were terrible. Economy collapsed people very tired of george w. Bush, two wars, so you had this wrong track number that was off the scale, plus somebody more effectively promised change than Hillary Clinton did. Again, somebody promised change but who didnt effect it economic anxiety front and center despite job contradiction numbers democrats love to regurgitate over and over world order crumbling political divide in this country that has not been worse since 1960s terror attacks every day, that is i swear you get this 69 so she is saying she is going to moving even further left is somehow going to fix all these problems that is what her policies say further left than barack obama. Maria that is right how do you think she did speeches did last night. I think you know bill clinton very effective he is just good, may be the change this steady thing difficult sell to make, but dplats have this idea that Hillary Clinton who has been in national spotlight, for a quarter century, is not quite known they want to reintroduce her. And weve. Reinvent. That is a good, we have a race both Candidates National figures for a very long time, and people have very set ideas about them, it is hard to change those ideas. All right, we will leave there it great to see. Thank you, cheryl up next republican nominee donald trump a price tag on minimum wage, stage set for starstudded lineup of speakers at Democratic Convention from president obama to Vice President biden to hills running mate tim kaine a preview next. V welcome back live this morning Democratic National convention in flz, Democratic Party making history last night, after making Hillary Clinton the first female nominee of a major party jerry brown casting his state vote used his sign to slam republican nominee donald trump. Ka the state with lots of energy, lots of enthusiasm, and state that defies donald trump on claimant change Immigration Reform 15 dollar minimum minimum wage, 221 votes for by thosernie sanders. For hill next president of the United States 330 votes. Last night for the first time trump suffered a details on his plan for a the minimum wage. What would you set federal minimum wage a the is in a doesnt have to be, well, i would leave it and raise it somewhat you need to help people and i know it is not very republican to say. Give me give me people 10. I would say 10 i would say 10 with the understanding somebody like me is going to bring back jobs, i dont want people in that 10 dollar category for very long. But the thing is let the states make the deal. Want to bring in former california governor gray davis good to see you. Good to see you maria. Making the point yeah may be 10 but let states decide. He was making four points we dont need it, leave it where it is may be he raise a little bit let states decide what i call multiple answers you like one pick it. Maria he has said several times he wants the states to decide. Well, then that should be his answer. What do you think . I think, look. Want whether trump and Bernie Sanders campaign told us maria most ameca is not feeling too good about future i remember jack kennedy saying rising tidelits all boats not all boats going up your boat goes up faster than my boat i have to feel moving on up weve got to reclaim American Dream provide a minimum wage and many opportunities, tax credit give people more economic upward mobility that is what the American Dream is about. And, you know, the pushback from businesspeople that we have on the show all the time is that you take the minimum wage to 15 dollars putting out some Small Businesses have them cut jobs because they cant afford it where are you on that, i mean you want to see businesses create jobs obviously if getting too expensive to do that, how do you how do you balance that. I know Business Leaders they have a fiduciary duty obligation to shareholders in california moving 15 dollar by 2022, last year we created more jobs than texas, and florida combined, 447,000, a lot of startups innovation so Business Leaders have to complain about cost, that is part of their job, but in reality, we have to have people feeling like their lives are Getting Better, for all of our sakes is in a i think the real question governor i think this is the thing that the Trump Campaign would say, is that we have to create a demand for labor that is in excesses of minimum wage we need a wage higher than that for people what policies do you think the democrats are proposing that is going to help the country get in that direction move that direction . I have not being in office just my thoughts you can as i say, use tax credit you could make for instance with education make it more Affordable Online courses tell every College University to get federal Research Dollars fine for every course that someone is in a seat you have to put it online harvard has only online degree lets get people with more skills lets match them with 3 or 43 or 4 million jobs unfilled take fie image courses a much better paying jobs. California last few years has become latest incubator for liberal policies seems to have taken off, for example, Climate Change minimum wage your economy is going gangbusters when i dont know california was everybody was talking about what o a fiscal mess california was all of a sudden doing incredibly well not just Silicon Valley, to me, i think california is really led the way i am surprised more people are not looking at that as real life case of what the policies effect can have. I agree with you, look, look who started Silicon Valley he china india ceos workforce being inclusive we dont care where you came from so long as you have talent skills can contribute. Let me ask you quick you got a loyal group of supporters of Hillary Clinton then a loyal bloc of supporters for donald trump then enormous group of people in middle, and independents, the highest number we have seen in decades actually how do you reach those innocents what do you want to marry from a speeches this week to reach innocents. It was great last night giving a personal side of hillary i think tonight you will see president obama, Vice President biden, talking about her plans for the future, but you know. Which plans specifically. Well, they will they will share it tonight but past pro blog, a lot of good things happened when hillary was secretary of state, a senator last night what she did after 911, so she her whole life has been make changes. That will reach the independents then . Because country wants change, they want to feel their lives are Getting Better so they want someone committed to that. Good to have you on the program thank you so much governor gray davis short break chase on streets of philly fox news Geraldo Rivera protesters pouring water on his head we will hear from geraldo next. Back in a moment. Maria good wednesday morning welcome back i am maria bartiromo. Coming to you live from the Democratic National convention in flz wednesday, july 27 top stories on the east coast, history was made in philadelphia last night, Hillary Clinton becoming first woman to lead a Major Party Ticket for the presidency. Clinton making a surprise video appearance, just like donald trump did, after the speech to the crowd. Let me just say i may become the first woman president but one of you is next. She is still the best darned changer maker i have ever known. The party seemed yointdz inside arena protests outside, things getting heated with fox news Geraldo Rivera, protesters poured water on his head. Weigh will hear straight from geraldo coming up on the other side of the aisle republican nominee donald trump focusing on economic policies, this as key clinton advisory suggest she could flipflop again on the trade partnership. S. Chamber of commerce president and ceo, tom donahue wont want to miss a moment stay with us. Hillary clinton made history with plenty of supporter from her husband last night she made her case to be president of the United States, listen to some of the highlights from last nights speeches. I cant believe we just put the biggest crack in that Glass Ceiling yet, thanks to you and to everyone who worked so hard to make this possible, this is really your victory, this is really your night. If you were sitting where i am sitting. And you heard what i have heard at every dinner conversation, every lunch conversation, on every long walk you would say this woman has never been satisfied with status quo. Skills to serve as commander in chief strength to lead our already great nation in this hour of challenge did you hear what i just said already great nation, donald did you hear me. Already great nation. Maria just a few of the speakers tonight president obama, Vice PresidentJoe Biden Tim Kaine her running mate and Mike Bloomberg speakers tonight, joining me former republican president ial candidate neurosurgeon dr. Ben carson former president ial candidate he former governor of Texas Governor rick perry good to see you thank you so much for joining us. Pleasure. So dr. Carson let me kick off with yhaou cracterize what we have heard from the convention what are you looking for from tonights he speeches . Well, so far what i have seen is a disconnect with reality. It is careful funny, as a i sit there and blame the republicans for everything that they are doing. And claiming to be the agents of change when in fact they want to continue down the same pathway that so Many Americans are dissatisfied with, tax and spend, not paying attention to our educational infrastructure, you know, basically creating all these divisions and saying that republicans are ones creating divisions, it is day democrats declared war on women who have created all the tension between people different income levels groups i hope people are smart enough to analyze this without being fed by pundits nude media. Governor perry what about you much has been talked about, the fact that we havent heard the word isis very much even as we have in another attack that tragic takedown of the priest in france, just horrific, and we have not heard a lot of National Security do you think that will be about a highlight tonight . They dont want to talk about that when you think about if you say the words isis then you start thinking about words like benghazi you think about terrorism, and this administration this secretary of state do not want to talk about this. Last night, i was susitting the watching he former president bill clinton as talking about this relationship with his wife, Hillary Clinton, and you cant you cant two of yourself from scoundrel this fellow is, was, and this you want to talk about disconnects, that is his big disconnect as there is, the clintons have a problem, with the truth. This individual wants to be next president of United States somewhere up close to 70 of the people out there dont trust her. So this issue of trust is going to be a huge, huge issue, in this campaign. Maria yeah i mean can they do anything to move the neil on the trust issue dr. Carson obviously this is something that has followed Hillary Clinton a long time, president bill clinton last night tried to show us a different side of hillary did it work . Yes, they could a definitely do something to move it like tell the truth, of course, that seems to be a stretch i mean you look at the economy, they are telling people, wow the Unemployment Rate is down at 4. 7 , they are not talking about Labor Force Participation rate a much better indicator, and, you know, they are denying what is going on in terms of our safety and security, with isis, and radical islamic terrorists, and the unfortunately thing there are people out there who fwaactuall buy this stuff when you talk to them dont have a clue what is going on it is very sad. And our founders predicted we would be in this if the population became uninformed that is what a lot of the population is now, our job, is to try to inform them, to talk to them at a level that is understandable so they can recognize what is going on, recognize, what were doing to the future for their children and grandchildren. I have got to ask you, to talk a bit about dnc email dump president Orange County was on nbc last night, where he was asked about whether or not he believes the russians were trying to interfere with u. S. Election listen to his response gentlemen. I think the fbi still investigating what happened, i know that experts have attributed this to russians. What we do know is, is that the russians hacked our systems, not just Government Systems but private systems, but you know what the moves were in terms of Public Education all that i cant say directly. You know it is sort of just people are upset because it feels like manipulation of the media. Lets not forget what happened a few years ago, when the president mic was hot he when is period to medvedev i will have more flexibility after the election. Your take on the dnc emails. This is a classical diversionary tactic the issue not who hacked it the issue what was in those emails what they dont want to talk about they dont want to talk how they rigged the system, so, of course, they are going to concentrate on this, you know, again, i think people should be smarter than that. Dr. Carson you are spoton, this is a diversionary tactic first degree same fbi investigating emails that were investigating mrs. s emails, i mean [laughter] this is almost comedic in format the president would get on talk about well those russians you know here in there getting all this information, out of emails, do you think they might have gotten Hillary Clintons emails then . Right, right, that is a good point given the fact that she said she wasnt hacked let me ask you this talk about policy for a moment because as i asked governor gray dives a few minutes ago there are he he loyalties for Hillary Clinton for sure loyal its for donald trump, independent bloc of voters what do you belief would be the most important policy that can be discussed whether on the right or on the left, to really lure in that independent voter right now . That lets get getting economy back there is not any doubt about it, that people feel verip very estranged when it comes to this economy they dont think their fauture is fright for seven plus years you have had barack obama in charge of this economy, and Hillary Clinton is given you economic prospects four more years the same clearly, policies that get the economy going tax policies regulatory policies power out of washington, d. C. , back to states where the states can compete against each other. Right, but how do you do that . Because you know the left says you grow the economy by raising the minimum wage grow economy hill said you grow economy by building on obamacare, by building on doddfrank dr. Carson whereas ump is saying you want to lower taxes, you want to roll back regulation. The left believes, and a country that is of, for by the government what government interventions their solutions what made america a great nation . It was the fact that we had people who were allowed to utilize their innovate skills to create things, we werent interfering all the time we need to get out of their way let it work we need a tax policy that rewarding people rather than penalizes them for k excellence. Did you notice day one of the conditions no american flagz onstage followers on twitters role upset showed pictures of trump rnc so many flags dnc with none they have put flags on the stage, by the way. I am curious onstage. I am curious who did they what did they pledge allegiance to that first day are . Yeah. Well no flag. Really fascinating. You know somebody probably had settlement explaining to do on that one. Governor perry. Did see flags burned, though. Ooh. Good to see you both thank you so much appreciate. See you soon, is we will come right back we are going to talk with Geraldo Rivera about his experience with the protesters yesterday, he got a bucket of water dumped on his head. Back in a minute. eeeeohmumohweh hush my darling. dont fear my darling. the lion sleeps tonight. hush my darling. man snoring dont fear my darling. the lion sleeps tonight. woman snoring take the roar out of snore. Com to streets of philadelphia Democratic National convention yesterday demanding change as Hillary Clinton officially became the president ial nominee of the democratic fact of the matter Geraldo Rivera was out speaking to protesters when things got tense. You even you dont know it. [bleep]. Time to go [bleep]. Wow Geraldo Rivera joins us rate now. Good morning. More about it what the heck happened. Look what happened was black lives matter is not one organization. It is kind of a label that a lot of people with different agendas have flocked to i think the best of it is mothers of the movement the moms of the young men who were killed in interactions with cops onstage in Democratic NationalConvention Last night the best of them, i almost aent the fact dnc did not have wisdom to bring the families of the slain cops onstage, to meet the mothers of the movement would have been very healing moment but black lives matter back to my point is Splinter Group there anarchis anarchists you communists troublemakers they feel they have ability, to tell journalists who they approve of acovering their tivities, and who they did is approve of i wont let them push us around, we were there legitimately around city hall a punk came up behind me did that with water i wanted the you wanted to punch him say in wanted to punch him in the eye, too. The irony First Amendment that protects their right to protest. But theyve been want to limit the media, so for free speech so long as their speech. Exactly right they have no care whatsoever for freedom of the press, they only want freedom freedom. Specifically, added at large they an silent question the fox flag i proudly carry they dont want unnecessary aggravation just move fox news label from the microphones i dont i am proud of it see that see me around so long more than they have been on earth most of them, and you know we have also a been lightning rod to that extent what am i go to go do stay home not cover the activities because they know they are going to act where negatively when they see me . It is their problem not my problem. Maria that was i mean surprise you got weared dumped on you so what . I dont mind that. You think about all the du Different Things in broader context to me, the dnc brilliant produced and scripted but has been too inflexible, president clinton yesterday in remarks about wife touching but should have mentioned the priest did he cap taitsdz in france terror attacks beings could have adlibbed that, the mothers of the movement if only invited families of the Police Officers then the dnc could have been seen as Healing Group come onni grouping together. Why wouldnt they mention priest. It was too produced in a way script reheresed what you do what you say, missed it. Hillary clinton and democratic ticket have to own the rise of isis happened under president obama they dont have hardcore solutions to fighting Islamic State trying to two more days. The truth that the yais has been born, and come to strain under their watch Hillary Clinton knows how to fate let her say husband could have said last night were coming to you, isis. This job i feel was really not to be president clinton really to be mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton so i think to put it curious to see whether he does it a good point but my wife would have urged me to do something about the terrible problem, i think that he should have urged his wife particularly on the day, that came out of the priest it is true thank you so much good to see you, sir Geraldo Rivera up next from basketball games to one of the biggest political gatherings of the country Philadelphia Wells Fargo Center hot venue right now ceo philadelphia 76ers weighing in a on what 2 convention means for his franchise the city of philadelphia later donald trump takes aim at Hillary Clinton over stance on trade more on worry of tar of the eco straight ahead. Live from the 2016 Democratic National convention in philadelphia, pennsylvania, once again, here is maria bartiromo. Maria good wednesday morning, everybody. Welcome back, im maria bartiromo. Coming to you live from the Democratic National convention in philadelphia. Its wednesday, july 27th, here are your top stories, 8 30 a. M. On the east coast. Durable goods numbers are just hitting the tapes, much worse than expected. Down 4 . Expectations of down 1. 1 . Well see if the markets have reacted to the number. And see if its more than expected. A historic night for Hillary Clinton becoming the first woman here. And another push for the vote. And especially when it comes to trade. You watch Hillary Clinton will now come out and people have to pay just like today and she just game out today. Because it makes sense to a lot of people. And net income plunge 98 from a year earlier. More on the turn around ruggle. And decline of 11. 1 . And earnings really drive the action for stock prices. Apple, for example, up this morning on the heels of better than xkted numbers and thats impacting the dow and the nasdaq. Take a look, earnings there also driving the story with the s p 500100 up, and cac quarante up 1 and 23rd . And there are reports that the japanese government will launch a Stimulus Program of more than 250 billion dollars, that sent the japanese yen open and stock Prices Higher and the bank of japan meets on friday. And donald trump is not waiting, here is his new stance on the minimum wage. It doesnt have to be, well, i would believe it and raise it somewhat, you need to help people and i know its not very republican to say i would say 10, i would say 10, but with the understanding that somebody like me is going to bring back jobs. I dont want people to be in the 10 category for long, but the thing is, let the states make the deal. Let the states make the decision there is what trumps position is on minimum wage. And governor sherry mccauliffe says shell look at the transpacific trade deal if elected president and told politico, listen, she was in support of the tpp. There are specific things that she wants fixed and trump is firing back and his own tweet on this, as i have been saying, crooked hillary will approve the job killing tpp after the election, despite her statements to the contrary. And joining me to weigh in on the trade wars. Ceo tom donahue. Good to see you. Were seeing the back and forth over the tpp. I know large multinational corporations want that in place. Is that right . Well, yes, and thousands and tens of thousands of Small Companies that trade all around the world want it there. And the fundamental issue is for either candidate, and nobodys talking about this, if we dont get off of 1, 1 1 2 Economic Growth and get up to 2 1 2 and 3, we can forget increasing jobs, driving this economy, and putting people back to work. And the same thing in some of the conversations about hydrocarbons and energy. You want to put all of those people out of work, you dont want to have the availability of the energy that draws manufacturing to the United States. Theyre taing about all kinds of issues except the fundamental issue, how do we drive growth and how do we put people back to work. Whats your solution in terms of ensuring we have the right trade deals with our friends overseas, but at the same time not creating an environment where its actually hurting workers in this country and creating new jobs . The trade deal that was negotiated with all of the countries on the pacific rim is geopolitically very important to us, our relationship with relationship with china and the agriculture people the Technology People like it a lot and theyve fixed the problem with the Capital Markets and we have to fix some things with pharmaceuticals. You do that without opening up the agreement and then you have an issue where the American People are going to have a and American Workers are going to have a much better chance to sell things to people in that region. You kill it and somebody else owns the relationship and somebody else gets the business. Maria well, we have got, obviously, the largest market and wantsto sell to americans, but there are companies that they want their goods. Selling to china. 1. 3 billion people in china. How do we do that in a fairway that people feel that the u. S. Is not at a disadvantage. , but you have your finger on the point. 95 of people we want to sell to don live in the United States. You look at growth and exports in china, they continue to go up and china is huge and it will continue to go up and remember, a lot of the imports are the kind of imports of high quality that go to walmart and target and those stores where mid america wants to go shop. Take that away and theirs goes up and this is a complicated thing and ending trade agreements and its a joke to listen to them all, ending trade agreements, which we wont do, is going to put us in a worse position than we are today. Will trumps hardline stance on eliminating some of these trade agreements draw in sanders supporters, in light of clinton saying shell reverse her stance or allies saying shell reverse her stance. Im not sure with what trump has said and where the sanders are going, they were young people excited about a lot of things that sanders talks about, i dont know where theyre going to go, i just say this, weve got to make very sure in this country that we have a balance, that we have serious discussion of issues and that means weve got to go out and elect a house and a senate that are going to provide that balance and help us press whoever is the president to do whats right. Maria are you worried that the republicans lose the majority in the senate. Im working very hard to make sure that doesnt happen. Maria we just got the durable goods report out, tom, down 4 , to what do you attribute this crawl of an economy, under 2 . I think the small amount of it is that companies are holding their cash and theyre listening to these debates and the political process and looking at the explosive overregulation of the economy, theyre listening to all the arguments about how we should break up the financial institutions, and finally, theyre being told every day that were not going to use hydrocarbons. When you put all of that together if im running a big company or a medium sized company, im putting as much cash as i can in the bank because you look at here is what the issues, theyre going down. Maria all right. Good to see you. Its good to see you. Maria thank you for joining us as always, tom donahue of chamber of commerce. And bill clinton taking a walk down memory lane and weighing in whether that was the right strategy. Back in a moment. You focus on making great burgers, or building the best houses in town. Hillary clinton struggles to bring the party together, Stuart Varney joins to us weigh in. What do you think, did president clinton do what he was supposed to do last night . I think its job last night was to bring unity to the party and try to present his wife as more likeable, try to break through that image of hillary as untrustworthy, not to be trusted, not a nice person. So, bill tried to break through that image. In doing so, i think he gave a lot of ammunition to donald trump because bill clinton, unspooled memories of their 45 years together. He went back to 1971 when he fell in love with her, when he first met her. Now, that gives a lot of ammunition to donald trump because as we all know, bill clinton is accused of rape and did have several liaisons with hillary. The contradiction there and i would expect donald trump to exploit that in the way that he already has. Did he bring unity to the party . No, he didnt. He didnt unify that party. And and did he make hillary more likeable . Maybe, but he certainly brought Donald Trumps attention and hes going to be on our air actually about two hours from now, 90 minutes, maybe and well get his response to what bill clinton said last night. I dont think that stuart is talking to donald trump, you guys, in a little bit on the show. Stuart its a News Conference. Maria oh i thought you said youd have him on. Stuart its a News Conference and i believe not a teleprompter, who knows what hell want to say. Maria way want to hear that. Sandra clearly the lack of focus at the dnc on terrorism. No mention of it, no mention of e priest killed in northern fran france. Again, thats kind of im sure trump will use that. Stuart im reeling from that attack in paris not paris, northern france. And the priests throat slit and filming it. And thats a soft target indeed, maybe its going to come here just like over there. That was not addressed last night or monday night. I think that the democrats really should because theres a Political Risk here. As you approach the election and theres more and more of these terror incidents and less and less response from the administration, thats a Political Risk for hillary who may well be the third term of of a president obamas presidency. I think theres risk involved here if the democrats dont address it. Maria yeah, well, for sure. Particularly with whats happening right now. Stu, well see you in 15 minutes on the show. Stuart maria, thank you. Maria a reminder, Varney Company begins every day 9 a. M. Eastern right here on the fox Business Network, right after mornings with maria. Up next, big reports, well have that and the opening of trading. Back in a moment. Approaching medicare eligibility . A big week for corporate earnings, apple and twitter out with earnings, and investors are looking ahead to facebook and reporting earnings after the close. Go to recon capital, breaking it all down for us, kevin, whats your take on the earnings weve seen the last 24 hours . Weve had a really good earnings cycle and stabilized the market and you can see that the vix index, but its a pick and choose. Technology is leading the way. Apple did better than anticipated except were seeing iphone sales actually stalling and going negative on a year over year basis, but people are focused on a lot of the big bellwethers coming up in the tech market, including amazon, google and more importantly, tonight, facebook. Facebook is going to be a big indication on the mobile ads spent and growing at about 6 a rate and thats why everybody gets excited about it and theyre dominant in mobile and video search and a lot of catalysts coming up, including the rio olympics and the cycle. They should be getting indications on that as well. A lot of people are seeing this stock has come too far, too fast, but the arguments are theyre growing at that exceptional rate. On a valuation basis theyre not overstretching compared to the rest of the market. Dagen and the worst they look the better facebook looks. A Premium Model and the revenue is declining on that and one of the great ways to look at facebook, they actually have more daily active users on instagram than twitter does in general on their overall platform and that really says something because youre seeing advertisers move from twitter to instagram and theyve only started to scratch the surface and monetize that asset. People are going to see how to monetize that line coming out and the ipo this year, which is the Japanese Version of whatsapp and well see whats coming up from facebook. Maria what else are you watching, the meeting, and gdp, well, that comes out on friday, the durable goods number is out today and 4 . I think thats important for investors to look at the durable goods order, and thats a leading indicator. When we get the jobs number, the jobs number is a lagging indicator and were seeing maturation, weve seen choppy months, one of the best months or best jobs numbers in over eight months in june with 287,000 jobs, but the month before that was 11,000, thats starting to the durable goods order, theyre putting money to work, and do you need to focus on the data points that the fed does look at. So its important for investors to start combing through the leading. Indicator numbers. One of the numbers that the democrats are talking about a lot. Anthony scaramucci, that the stock market has done well. Look at the markets today strongly in the face of the terrible numbers in terms of durable goods. Were looking at a gain of 60 points, whats your take on that. Thats a positive sign, but its been by primarily the urban and global central monetary policy. Its not filled by the people who dont have the assets, maria. 97 of americans dont have the assets and theyre feeling it in their pocket books, where real wages are flat and disposable incomes, excuse me, is down 9 . You talk to people like my parents, for example, who are not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination, but when the market goes down their Retirement Savings decrease, if youre over a particular age, you look at that to make money, its for people who are. Dagen on with sean hannity and started talking about the stock market and referred to it talking about the easy money from Central Banks and called it a bubblement and ill caution when youre running, when youre the president or running for the presidency, be careful, hes not a stock market strategist, not a pundit. If the market collapses hes not going to get credit for it or praise for calling it, he could get in trouble for talking it down. Talk about the economy and peoples wages and how people feel about their situation, i would stay away from stocks. Maria to the point ments you want the best response, the response to their stock market, say the bond market. Look at flattening yield curve and where the 10year treasury is. Its not indicating great growth and its indicating a lot of risk is out there. So if they want to come back to the stocks, look at the flattening yield curve and the position the fed has been about ut ut its not doing well. 27. 7 billion dollar net outflows, net outflows in the month of june. Thats a big number, anthony. It is, but. 75 of the overall assets that the Hedge Fund Industry has. You would think a bigger number given the lackluster performance that the industry has. The industry is 3 trillion. Its a big number to us, but a small percentage of assets. Maria but the performance hasnt been there. The performance has not been there kevin. On the relative basis, a lot of the top have the wealth since brexit, but youre seeing people getting into etf and not wanting to pay up for performance. This is indicative of the management feel. In the last three years, they have underperformed everything. Kevin, good to see you, well see you back in new york. Kevin kelly. Happy birthday to my mother today and my father who turns 80 on friday. Maria oh, happy birthday, mrs. Mcdowell, happy birthday mrs. Mcdowell. They have dedicated their lives to others, to family, community and church with no fame and continue to do that and they can always smell a phony before he speaks his first word and god bless them for that. Im doubling down on that, happy birthday to you guys, god bless. Maria great show and good to see you all. Well see tonight the big speech from president obama. That will be the one to watch tonight and vicepresident biden. [laughter] im speechless, god only knows. Maria prime time coverage ill be there 6 p. M. Eastern kicking off live from the Convention Floor. Stuart varney and Varney Company begins, stuart take it away. He. Stuart thanks, maria. Chaos, division, a walkout and tears and thats inside the arena. The Democratic Convention. There was a walkout by bernie supporters and loud booing and a Clear Division remains between the establishment of those people there, the sanders insurgen insurgents, outside, flag burning, rowdy demonstrations and black lives matters with a big protest and clashes with police. More on that today. The speeches and the old familiar faces, bill clinton said hillary was the best darn changemaker and told how he fell in love with her. A string of hollywood celebrities appealed for the
