California has yet to decide a winner. The latest poll shows clinton is very much in the lead. The loss puts new pressure on Bernie Sanders to drop out of the race. The vermont senator says he refuses to step aside. Clinton spent last night celebrating her victory at a rally in new york. At a time in our nations history that a woman will be a major party nomination. [cheers and applause] i know it never feels good to pitch your heart into a cause or a candidate you believe and ann to come up short. I know that feeling well. I am pretty good at arithmetic and i know that by side in front of us is a very steep fight. But we will continue to fight for every vote and every delicate. To all of those Bernie Sanders voters have been left out in the cold by a rigged system of superdelegate, we welcome me with open arms. [cheers and applause] trade to join them in now is strategist Richard Bernstein and Fox News Contributor mercedes schlock. Thanks for joining us. A big night last night for Hillary Clinton. Lets get your take first off a mess. Still waiting on california. Not as close as a lot of people thought at this point. Right to my right. She finished strong. I think Bernie Sanders and his people, it takes a while. I remember what it felt like as a Hillary Clinton supporter to come to terms with the loss. The fact that hes got this meeting with president obama set up for tomorrow, it looks like a process is underway for the democrats to kind of come together. I will say this. When one partys leadership is debating how racist they are standard will be in the other one says things like even if you didnt vote for me, ill have your back. Between those two, i think i would rather be with the one whos not bigoted racist and misogynist. And the other thing i would say is theres all this talk about how hillary was going to get so rattled by donald trump issues that rattled last night. She did not rattled in a Foreign Policy speech. I think shes good. Maria how do you think, mercedes, will president obamas endorsement be. Likely going to say he should step aside. Das of the phone call was to speak as well. How important will that be for the Clinton Campaign . You will provide Hillary Clinton is considerably. Talking about the Democratic Party and realizes Bernie Sanders has been a thorn in her side. I think for Hillary Clinton, shes already pivoted to the general election messaging. I think shes had obviously two very strong speeches and trump needs to realize that this is a well oiled Aggressive Campaign machinery that clinton is going to push forward. Hes got to be prepared and ready. We have to remember she gave this historic speech last night. What could the messenger is. The messenger has been involved in scandal after scandal after scandal and i just dont think the American People will say wait a second, great speech. Thats been one of the biggest issues that the experience. Job needs to get on message because this is going to be a tough play. In terms of Hillary Clinton, that dynamic editorial page. They dont call her they dont go say shes a liar obviously. She needs to show she would run into open white house. Good luck with this. Really thin her paid speeches to foster that signal her command and to reversing the perceptions and admitting using the private email server for official business is not allowed or encouraged by the state department. I thought theyre kind of going on of them to suggest that he had she doesnt get rattled in prepared remarks that the Foreign Policy speech. Imagine her debating trump. Shes going to be very rattled and Foreign Policy having to defend her record. Trump will save you say, what the guys he and people will cheer. Hillary clinton will face the difficult task of trying to unite the Democratic Party. We care about wall street, trade and those are issues that are in direct contradiction that Hillary Clinton has long held. Thats a very difficult task shes going to face in trying to unite the Democratic Party. Maria she was in favor of the ttp, for example. Now shes against it. The polls of voters showed that 90 , 75 are strongly favorable to barack obama. If you look at climate change, income inequality and down the list of issues that motivate Bernie Sanders voters, theres a chasm of difference putting aside barack obama and Elizabeth Warren and joe biden will be encouraging them to consider dignity, Bernie Sanders could get behind hillary. This is delusional and transpire. And the head of the. No its not. As a combatant, i love it when the other guys living in a true moral. I actually feel pretty good this morning relative to all the other possible alternative circuit is facing. It is an uphill bottle when you look at the electoral map. Obviously will turn and try to see if he can win ohio, for example. Obama won by three percentage points. He does draw the white workingclass voters, many of them who would have voted for reagan in the teen 80. The question for Donald Chavez will he be able to broaden his base. Hes going to have to do better with minorities. Its not just about reagan in the bluecollar workers, bringing in those types of individuals to beaufort term. Its also keeping his republican base. Many feel discouraged and have it come along too trusting tribe. They will earn the support and trust in the long run. Maria new reports say that Bernie Sanders will cut out half of its Campaign Staff following news of Hillary Clinton clinching the democratic nomination. Hes also planning to make the viruses that refusing to back out of this convention in july. His sanders hurting the party . What do you think . He absolutely is. At the same time, regardless of whether sanders voters have an unfavorable view doesnt mean you will go to hillary. They might not vote at all or gary johnson is polling support for the liberal side as well as conservative side. Other than the economy. If you look at drug legalization is antiestablishment. Hes an outsider from a whole different party. He could gain some support, too. Just because its not going to trump doesnt mean its going to hillary. Maria the party. When they interviewed him was like one of the most fascinating interviews ive ever seen. You are running this marijuana business. How recently have you smoked marijuana . He mentioned he would defer to the states on polygamy. There was an uphill battle in a variety of issues. Maria that is funny. When you look at the negatives as high as they are for donald trump of the negatives as high as they are for Hillary Clinton, does not make the vp pick . Pardon . Americans dont vote for a vp. This time it may be different. It could be. But i think people look at this top leader of the party. Donald trump does make more of a difference because of the fact that john kasich is on the taste of. From a different pool of voters. He attracts more of the independent womens suburban type as well as moderate republicans that might be trying to figure out to want to support driver not support john. It makes more of a difference because hes got a vp with political experience who understands congress and the functioning of an executive branch. I think for Hillary Clinton gets a little different because theres so much political experience so its not going to impact her greatly. More important for trump. In terms of the overall ticket. Good to see you both. Thanks so much. Hillary clinton will be in a special report today at 6 00 p. M. Eastern on the fox news channel. Do not miss it. Oneonone with Hillary Clinton and barak. Why d. A lot of the businesses have been cutting employees and hours in advance. Maria its a big story. Gross either the high seat, the guest after guest comment Small Business owners say the same thing but if they are forced to raise their wages to 15, they will cut jobs. Do you think its a big economic issue . Absolutely. You look at the Congressional Budget Office and they said raising the minimum wage to 10. 10 could be a loss of 500,000 to 1 million drugs. Cash goes in one pocket and can cite another. You force the employer to really people out a race cost on consumer. The report is going to lead to job loss. Of not having the same amount of people. I wish it was more socially acceptable to wear it everywhere. I just do. Maria . So divide. Maria is talking about. Maria the best i can understand and my own personal opinion on lululemon all withhold. The founder, which by the way doesnt help the company. I dont know why any founder would come out and criticize the company. It seems weird. He is talking about in the last three years that lululemon has underperformed under a manner nat. Its done faster. The stock starts at 52 week high. Will you lead with the technicals of the athletic wear rather than leading with the fashion. He is saying that you need to lead with kind at the cutting edge technical types of fabrics, sweat technology. I think thats what is talking about. Maria by what the stock be trading down if this is such a hot category. Perhaps because its been question done to them in. There is a ton of competition in the segment. Maria to compare same euro per year are tough. Go ahead. Its expensive, too. As you mentioned theres so much competition out there. Youve got a likeminded friend and they reduce prices by 15. That makes a huge difference when you determine which clothing that you went to recounting. Yeah, but i still like him the best. Maria i guess there was the issue that it is seethrough. There is a recall a while back. Dagen is comical because men love women and yoga pants. When they are seethrough they love them that much more. In terms of lululemon, you have all these other entrants into the business and they can separate themselves that they stick to their athletic grace and clothing people will wear both in the street and again if you lead with this kind of technical underpinnings of these closed. Maria is this a broader issue about retail. Resolve ralph lauren. They had their meeting yesterday cutting jobs. He cap story there. He talked a lot about online. Tranter my favorite omelette straight my favorite omelette straight. This is digressing today. There is a survey that shows for the first time, an annual survey of 5000 on the shoppers made more than half of their perches on the internet rather than in stores. 51 of their purchase on the web compared with 48 in 2015. Welcome back, im maria bartiromo, wednesday june 8th, 6 30 a. M. On the east coast. Primary season almost in the books, a historic moment for Hillary Clinton. Presumptive nominee donald trump turns to the general taking aim at Hillary Clinton. Tonights victory is not about one person, it belongs to generations of women and men who struggled and sacrificed and made this moment possible. The last thing we need is Hillary Clinton in the white house or extension of the obama disaster. Real change never occurs from the top on down, always from the bottom. And that is what our movement is about. Maria meanwhile scary video at pennsylvania, mall kidnapping caught on tape. We will have the latest on the case. A petition is circling at the elite school, too many white male writers and creates a hostile culture. So much for soda pulling plug on soda machine, hasnt been out for a year and southwest with round trip tickets costing less than a 100 per ticket. There is a catch. Mix action there, the world bank cutting Global Economic forecast to 2. 4 . That is hurting stocks in europe this morning. The European Central bank starts program to buy Corporate Bonds to help region combat low inflation. As you can see the dax index worst performer there. In the u. S. Futures edging higher, fractional move. Dow industrial expected to open up 25 this morning. Hillary clinton has won the california primary. 68 of the vote has been counted thus far, shes making history surely of becoming the first woman on political party. Good morning, maria, the day after here in jersey city, new jersey like the rest of the country preparing for the general election that will pit Hillary Clinton against donald trump. Hillary clinton first woman to head up a National Ticket in a general election. And here in the garden state there were few surprises during the primary, donald trump captured 81 of the vote. This despite the fact former governor called republican to reject trump and there was a small protest vote still on the ballot, john kasich, he got 13 , ted cruz got 6 from voters. And among those voting for donald trump, new jersey governor Chris Christie, one of the first highprofile republicans to endorse trump. He also paid a visit to the presumptive nominee at trump tower yesterday and Chris Christie also spoke with reporters defending trumps remarks about a federal judge that some critics have labeled racist. Listen. I know donald trump, ive known him for 14 years and donald trump is not a racist, so, you know, the allegations that he is are absolutely contrary to every experience ive had with him in 14 years. She was expected to beat Bernie Sanders and she did. Clinton getting 63 of the vote, sanders 3 . Hillary clinton by the way, campaigned recently as last week here in new jersey. She was joined by senator corey booker, he is a possible Vice President on the democratic ticket and also endorsing Hillary Clinton the senior senator from new jersey, senator Robert Menendez and last lay, maria, worth noting here, the general election between Hillary Clinton and donald trump Hillary Clinton would receive in new jersey, this is in new jersey 38 of the vote, donald trump 34 , but when you factor the margin of error, it is essentially a statistical dead heat. The last time new jersey voted republican election back in 1988. Maria which is why its so extraordinary that its such a dead heat even today. Donald trump shifting tone following last nights fife state swept making comment using tale prompter, watch teleprompter. Watch. I will never let you down, too much work, sweat and tears. I will make you proud of your party and your movement. Thats what it is, a movement. Maria is this the new donald trump . Following scott brown, senator brown, good to see you. Good morning, good morning. Maria feels like the most recent had impact, hes going to make everybody proud, what do you think . Scott hes used teleprompter before. We are moving into a different phase as you have been speaking about all morning where we have to zero in. I anticipate putting policy speeches and drawing distinctions between Hillary Clinton and obviously himself. Maria, guys, what do you think he needs to do, what about policy does he need to get into and be more specific in order for this to resinate. I think he needs to focus on the economy. Look tat latest research about the shrinking middle class, manufacturing down 29 . People are hurting. A large majority of individuals in the country who feel left behind by the current economy. Thats his wheel house, thats what he should be talking about. You have a lot of minority and unemployment is extremely high. Reaching out to people who feel left behind. Lee theres a specific thing. I know people that werent supporting him and felt better. Dagen scott brown, good to see you. In terms of going after Hillary Clinton, i think that he needs to hit her hard and often. He has a speech next week potentially where he has frame her candidacy, he needs to remind that this is a democratic nominee thats under investigation by the fbi. Scott i think its wonderful that we have a woman first time in history and also unfortunate that its Hillary Clinton. Ins Bernie Sanders needs to be more transparency, the reason im staying in because im not going to let joe biden and Elizabeth Warren for a position that ive earned. Foreign policy, he owns the failed policy of the Obama Administration. You can go on and on and on and hes going to start to draw distinctions in. I think its going to be really close and he wins. Maria speaking of women, im hear whispering here and there. What about candolisa rice. Scott shes making a tremendous amount of money of doing incredibly fun things, so its really up to her at this point. Im sure she would be a consideration, theres great candidates, you have jeff sessions, senator corker, you can go on and on. Its going to be hot, hot so hold onto your hat and your chair. [laughter] maria old all ladies on the panel this morning. Scott i noticed. Maria you dont care that its a woman or a man . Lee assume that i would, shes a horrible candidate. Whats equal on hanging your hat that youre solely a woman . Maria right. Quality is being the best candidate and presenting your path and presenting what you do for this country and being elected based on merits of what you bring forward. Maria Hillary Clinton and donald trump are trying to go after all allimportant Bernie Sanders supporters. What kind of message do they need to put out there to resinate Bernie Sanders when he steps down which could be in the next few weeks. Scott millennials are not going to vote for her. Theyre either going to stay home or vote for donald trump. They said they were going to fix it last time. President obama, by the way, cant wait to get out there and endorse, which he cant wait to get out there, dont indict her. I think trump has a better opportunity to grab those millennials and he also has to start working on the conservative part of party as well to let them know that they have a place and he does conservative credentials, the release of the Supreme Court was a good start and he needs to get some good policy speeches talking about the things that got him there and i think thats critically important. Dagen talk to 120 million voters coming out in november who did not vote for donald trump during the primary season, it could be even more than that, thats who he has to think about not just the parttime in the room but the entire voting population in the u. S. Maria do you think those people are swayed by president obama endorsement. Maybe thats the day he endorses. Dagen its a toss up. The democrats like to talk about president obamas approval rating. If you look at the economy and job number next week f he endorses her she starts wearing a tshirt that says he broke and now i own it. Shes saying, what am i going to do to make the economy better and its a big question mark. I heard someone make the point the other day so i cant take credit for it. Theyre making the point that president obama Approval Ratings are high because hes been out of the public arena. Its been donald trump, its been Hillary Clinton and so once you he reenters and becomes referendum on policy which Hillary Clinton wants to continue we can see those numbers dib. Maria weird. [laughter] dagen victory tour around the world was well orchestrated and planned very far in advance. Maybe its worked out so far. Maria i guess so. Senator, good to see you. Scott great to see you all. Maria kidnapping release showing a woman running away with a 2yearold infant. Details coming up. Trouble for single served coffee brand. Bring out the bold™ maria welcome back, outrage over Yale University students launching online petition calling on the English Department to abolish a required course on classic English Literature that includes major poets such as shakespeare and elliot, studying white male writers is a hostile environment. The petition received 66,000 signatures. Joining us right now kevin phillips. Whats your take on this . What the heck is going on on universities across the country . Well, the students said the course is holding them hostage. Its a broader problem than ivy leagues and yale. Students and administrations are ignoring facts just to put revision of history and its dangerous. Dagen if you pay more than a quarter of a Million Dollars to go to yale theyre creating ignorant uneducated bigots. Is every student at every unit preaching intolerance in the name of tolerance . Its stupid that everybody is on board with this leftwing think . A lot of students are afraid to speak up for fear of being labeled a by got, this is so backwards. Imagine if we applied it to other societies, the nfl the top running were African American by this logic should we tell them not to cover certain athletes and cover far fewer athletes because theyre latino or white. Theyre not preparing students for the real world, are students being able to expect to walk out of a meeting if they dont see people of color in a board room or conference room. Maria do you hear this from young people, whats wrong with, for example, english poets . Lee theres a focus on diversity and its got that thats where most important. If you can find something offensive, i notice that this is insensitive because im culturally insensitive, im smarter than you, how do we not realize all these white men and this is so unfair . People are yeah, absolutely. And the colleges from what ive seen are not only compliant but read the shakespeare. Dagen history of literature. What kind of message are we sending students what kind of message that theyre not studying authors and poets based on who is the best, they are studying based of quotes. Maria yeah. What would they like to see cabot . Are there areas where universities should be more diversified . Well, the students at yale, theyre calling for a greater study of people of different genders and backgrounds and races but the ironic thing yale most popular course last year in English Department was entitled gender and race and literature. The school is doing to study. They were doing so much to push the status quo and i think the students are misplacing their outrage. Maria feels like it. Dagen gets to the issue of free speech. The nature of First Amendment of free speech is allowing room for what makes us uncomfortable. Thats free speech. Maria conversation. Dagen on the left, you make my uncomfortable if you talk about shakespeare so you dont get to talk about it. [laughter] shockingly theres no freedom from hurt feel negotiation the constitution. Bernie sanders did win north dakota and montana and in his speech no one knew what to expect at the san monica airport, he went onto say that they will not allow donald trump to be president , he said their mission is transforming america, he was booed when he had just spoken with clinton a few minutes ago and congratulating him on campaign and he congratulating her on victories, he said, but he got the biggest cheers of the night when he said theyre going to continue to fight. Next tuesday we continue the fight in the last primary. We are going to fight hard to win the primary in washington, d. C. And then we take our fight for social economic, racial and Environmental Justice to philadelphia, pennsylvania. Maria, he also did speak with president obama and expect today meet with him on thursday. That is tomorrow, so with that, sending it back to you. Maria we will see what goes on in the meeting and the president encourages Bernie Sanders to standing down. Absolutely, its unclear, he did say we are going to continue. Its unclear whether hes going to himself stay in the race all the way to convention but they are definitely going to be fighting to be on the platform and be part of the process. Maria he has that going for sure. Donald trump and Hillary Clinton nominees for parties. Listen to this. Donald trump is tempmentally to be unfit for president. The last thing we need is Hillary Clinton in the white house or extension of the obama disaster. [cheers and applause] its clear that donald trump doesnt believe we are stronger together. He wants to win by stoking fear and rubbing salt in wounds. Shes not strong, she shouldnt be lieud to run. I cant imagine that the fbi is going to allow that to happen. Maria trump promised additional attacks on monday with prepared speech aimed at the secretary of state. Governor huckabee, good to see you. Good morning, maria, great to be with you. Maria here we are after super tuesday, can trump be president ial and unify the republican party, we are still asking the question . I think absolutely he can. He showed a terrific side last night. I thought the speech was spot on. He focused on hillary, he focused on the issues that made him the nominee, when he talked about unfair trade deals, the loss of jobs, americas loss of respect in the world, our lack of national security, these are the reasons that donald trump is the republican nominee and he got back to that script last night and i thought did very well. Maria an economy that is stuck in neutral from the jobs report that was just released. What advice, youre providing input, im sure to donald, what advice are you giving him about getting this low and slow economy . Every year we see gdp and walk us down quarter after quarter. I think the most important thing is to give level of predictability and tell them tax rates are not going to go up and indication theyre going to go down, make it clear, youre not going to overregulate businesses so that theyre constantly having to add cost to the bottom line of doing business, its killing the ability of u. S. Makers, manufacturers and employers to go forward when every time the government or somebody wants to hit with new cost. Theres got to be some level of relief from that or we are not going to see economic numbers improving and the numbers are not going to get better. It is so important, look, for the first time in our nations history we are seeing more Small Businesses going under than being created. That is so scary. Thats the bulk of where our nations jobs comes from and its important to have healthy private sector and thats the direct contrast that donald trump needs to paint with Hillary Clinton because she is an extension of the failed economic policies we have seen under president obama, the same regulatory agenda that is strangling businesses across the country. So its so important for him to draw that contrast. Dagen Bernie Sanders is further left, the wall street journal today, governor, highlights what Hillary Clinton said when she launched her campaign for senate about 16 years ago, i dont believe government is the source of our problems and the solution to them, thats very different from what you hear from her today. Well, if Bernie Sanders is her life jacket to help her float, that jacket is made out of pure lead. When she does that, shes basically saying to the business community, youre screwed. One of the ways that i think donald trump can make a big inroad to tell people, we are going to roll back some of the specific mandates of the Obama Administration and go after dod frapg because it didnt take on big banks, it took on community banks. A 25,030,000 loan they cant get it. Maria yesterday we saw the gop, the house come out with an alternative to doddfrank. They are coming out with real specifics in terms of rolling back the regulatory. One of the most important things for donald would be to start some of these things back, we have seen this administration 400 million of potential acquisitions. Your thoughts about the administration and what you would advice donald to do Going Forward and whats going on out there today . Capitalization will have a lot to do to make sure lenders can afford to lend and reasonable return of money and some sense that if youre going to borrow the money you can get it back in business, but if youre stuck with the cost of obamacare, stuck with the cost of doddfrank regulations and then the unknown regulations that the bureaucrats put on, one of the things donald trump will not allow regulation to go through that does not have authority of regulation left with congress not with bureaucracies. Here is what it does, it gives a broad stroke of power to a regulatory body and says the agency shall and any time you see those words, the agency shall, that that bill autoto be vetoed an sent back to congress, if you want to regulate something, you as the peoples representatives step up and do it and dont pass it to some bureaucrat that has no skin in the game. Maria thank you so much. Governor Mike Huckabee joining me there. Tsa facing audits this summer. Homeland secury putting agency to the test right now. Starbucks taking internet by storm this morning. So we decided to go to starbucks and check it out. The pink drink can be ordered by customers. This is not on the menu. I have no idea how many calories its in this. I want you to give it a shot. Maria try it. Cheryl its a is strawberry refresher. Maria i like it. Its probably allow a thousand calories. Can i pour you some . Come on. Definitely masculine. Dagen its making me feel old. [laughter] maria okay, something lighter, something cheryl its not not on the menu. Dagen how do you take a giant multibillion Dollar Company and make it hot again, you create social media sensation. Mystery drink. Maria good idea. [laughter] maria good stuff. Thanks, cheryl. Britain not alone, european elsewhere are grown tired of the eu as well. Maria welcome back, the worlds bank cutting Global Forecast for 2016. Now it expects the economy to grow 2. 4 . This year down from 2. 9 . That was the estimate back in january. Two big question marks for leaders around the world. The president ial election in the u. S. And upcoming british in potentially leaving the euro zone. Steve, good to see you, thank you so much for joining us. You speak to lots of managers of businesses globally, how do you see it . Are you surprise that had the world bank is cutting expectations for Economic Growth . No, im really not. The u. S. Is doing okay chugging along. Its all relative. The rest of the world, things are not that good. Maria within the u. S. We are have been talking about regulation, is that the main culprit or Something Else . No question about it. I think the lack of certainty, they need help on tax reform, its not competitive here. Theres a lot of disruption. Theyre working hard, companies, to keep moving in this environment. Steve, your firm is expert on tax and youre in the board room almost every week talking directors and ceos, what would they like to see on tax Going Forward . Well, the big issue is first of all, rate is not competitive for u. S. Companies and secondly the system worldwide taxation. So its a disadvantage. Nothing is going to get done before the election. Hopefully theres a motivation for this to be a big issue in 17. Maria taking it down from 35 which is the highest in industrialized world would really move the needle. Really would. Its a challenge and so its interesting, we are seeing an environment that economy is kind of weak and nma which is stronger in Strong Economy maria mar, acquiring growth. We talk about the regulatory nation on the impact of businesses, how does the regulation nation affect workers, affects the everyday man and women . We heard earlier about Small Businesses, for example, i do a lot of work in that area. Some of the regulations in medical devises and so forth actually flip the profitability because of taxation. If you think about the drive on wages and Health Care Costs and so forth, a lot of the Small Companies are being damped and down and we heard from the governor also about bank lending. We created this, you know, secondary market out there. You can get loans but youre talking about doubledigit Interest Rates. Steve, youre hearing that allot in the board room also. Its tough times, entrepreneurs, innovators are creating jobs all around the world but they need help. Dagen how easy is it for a new president , a new white house to roll back regulation, because historically once those rules are solidified its very hard to remove them. President obama in seven years, the white house alone has issued more regulations than in the eight years of bush and eight years of clinton. So how quickly can we remove some of those . I think its a good question that you shouldnt expect dramatic change but slowing it down a little bit. I think thats what companies are asking for. Its been a oneway street. Lets just slow it down a little bit and look for other ways for public and private cooperation. Maria how much would that move needle in terms of rolling back regulation and tax reform . Huge. I think the u. S. Relatively is performing pretty well even with those burdens. I think with a little bit of lift with regulatory and tax reform would be huge. Maria june 23rd is the referendum, a lot of back and forth in polls about the uk leaving the euro zone, now theres report that other countries are getting tired of the eu as well, if britain leaves, would that start the domino effect . The british issue is huge. Again, this is what we are seeing in this country and around the world. Maria nationalism. Right now week to week its not clear whats going to happen. If they exit there are big challenges here. Theres going to be political change, policy change, regulatory change, i think the uk is going to have to think about their trade agreements with european countries, which have not been a challenge for them. The same issues will flow into europe and potentially other exits. Scottland open the door and increase social unrest thats taking place whether its in the uk or here. I think theres a good probability that it does pass and then youre going to see a big domino effect and it wont be easy to break away, but i think its a possibility, steve. Maria everybody who comes on the show, remember wilber ross, theyre talking about a massive disruption, why is it such a market disruption, Global Market . Well, you know, i think right now Companies Need stability, they need certainty, so this would toss everything up in the air. I think the distraction for companies having to rethink policy, trade agreements, trade flows, tax, you know, and other issues that are going to change here for both the uk and for europe, its going to be massive distraction when they need focus. Currency. Going back to local currency is going to be a big issue too. Maria good point. Britain did not join the euro, they kept the british pound and that was a good move. They havent been the most allin of the eu members, this could flip on something that happens in the news that week. Migrant issue, again, the public, the electorate, very unpredictable. Maria we will see about that, june 23rd is the day to watch. Congratulations on your most recent award. Thank you, maria. We are very proud. 220,000 people around the world. We have to be diverse and inclusive, very proud of that and continue to be focused on it. Maria good for you. We will see you soon, sir. Hillary clinton twitter page getting a makeover. Welcome back, im maria bartiromo, it is wednesday june 8th, top stories right now 7 30 a. M. On the east coast. Primary season almost in the books. The Associated Press is calling the california primary for clinton just last hour despite last nights results Bernie Sanders is vow to go fight on. Now the attacks are ramping up on both sides of the aisle. Donald trump is temperamentally unfit. Hillary clinton turned state department into private hedge fund. Its a sad day in america with foreign with deep pockets have more effect than our citizens. We will not allow donald trump to become president of the United States. Maria road wage caught on camera. Thats hurting stocks in europe. The European Central bank Start Program to buy Corporate Bonds today as an effort to help the region combat low inflation and the top story in the journal, yields on tenure debt of germany and the uk hitting alltime lows. Futures in the u. S. Are higher, we are pretty much near the highs of the morning right now with the dow industrial up 30 points. Return back to politics. Ap reported that Hillary Clinton has won the california primary. 69 of the vote has been counted thus far. Shes making history certainly becoming the first woman in history to secure nomination of a Major Political party. Lilan is in santa monica with the latest. Lilan, good morning to you. Good morning, maria to you. Specifically california. It is much a loss for sanders as it is for clinton. She didnt need it clearly but she really wanted it and now that she has made history, declared victory, she is moving to try to unify the democr not so much from the Sanders Campaign in his rally yesterday folks chanting things that we cannot repeat on this Television Program complaining that she had been name it had nominee before the superdelegates voted at the convention in philadelphia. Experts that clinton needs not only a rest but try to bring the party together. Whether youre a democrat, republican or independent, i hope you will join us. In just a few weeks, we will meet in philadelphia which gave birth to our nation. [cheers and applause] back in that hot summer of 1776. We take our fight for social, economic, racial and Environmental Justice to philadelphia. I am pretty good in arithmetic and i know that the fight in front of us is a very steep fight, but we will continue to fight for every vote and every delegate. Thats what sanders is saying. Now look at what he is doing. A few data points, hes laying more than half of his Campaign Staff. That should happen sometime in the next week or so, maria, he will also travel to washington, d. C. On thursday to meet president obama and we know that president obama is itching to get into this race, has talked about endorsing someone sometime in the not so distant future, its hard to imagine that hes going to endorse Bernie Sanders. Maria we are expecting that endorsement soon certainly from the president. We will bring former senior strategist to the Clinton Campaign. Mark, good to see you. Congratulations, it was a good day for you and your team. A good day for Hillary Clinton and the country. I think this is a great opportunity for her to unit the party and the country to move forward here. Maria Bernie Sanders is not buying. Hes vow to go stay in. Hes vow to go continue fight for social justice and i suspect itll take a different form. I think this nomination is over and its decisively over and i think the party and the country are going to move on. You know, mark, bernie said we will not let trump become president , is that the first crack in the door and what does the president tell him tomorrow, step down. Now you have to do the right thing, we have the unit, we have to prevent donald trump from becoming president and hillary is the right candidate. Maria but how far would that go, the endorsement . Do you think the president s endorsement will be a gamechanger in the election . Dagen he talked about favorability numbers and Approval Ratings are 50 or a little bit higher than that, however, if youre running on his economy mark, doesnt that hurt her potentially . Well, but i think right now if you look at all of the polls, you know, its within 5 or 6 points that shes ahead of donald trump, but, you see because sanders is higher, suggests a lot of young people, workingclass voters that she can appeal to now that the nom nights fight is over and if she brings those people to her side shell be way over 50 . She has a potential of realgame changing vight victory here. Shes liked for the qualities and the things that she can bring to the American People in this campaign. I think they see her as a doer and shell get out there and do the things whether its job growth, dealing with education and Student Loans and getting to college, those critical things i think shes going to lay down critical markers. This is a tremendous opportunity for any candidate now that primary is over. Does that translate into likability . What is it that people like about president . Its what they do for people, and Hillary Clinton has always been a doer. She was a very strong senator. We spent time going through her record, three days, we had to call it quits. Maria thats what shes talking about. Shes been a doer but look at the results. People are criticizing Foreign Policy given happeningings in benghazi, libya, isis having gotten stronger, theyre criticizing a leadership in the economy, we havent had a year of 3 Economic Growth by president obama and hillary was on the team. First, lets remember when president obama took over we were in a recession. Maria we are a decade past that, mark. You look at the job growth that we have seen, the economy has come way back, the fed is on the virtue verge rates. Maria thats debatable. They may not raise this year. Clintons have dagen you said clintons plural. One thing we havent mentioned is the fbi investigation. Thats one thing that she hasnt even sat down as far as we know for an interview yet. That is still hanging around. I think thats still hanging around but the consensus is after the report came out, theres nothing new that we are going to learn, that it was a mistake that she did this and the country is going to move on and past this. If you look at exit polling particularly in a state like michigan where Hillary Clinton lost to Bernie Sanders, you look at the issue of trade, you see the majority of both republicans and democrats believing that trade is taking jobs away from the United States and those are policies that Hillary Clinton has long supported, how does she appeal to workingclass voters who feel disenfranchise by bad trade deals . Shes for the right kind of trade deals. I think shes going to say, we cant pull out of a international and global economy, but at the same time we cant do trade deals that are bad per American Workers and thats the position that shes going to take. Hey, mark, the president quoted itching to get into the campaign, so youre close to hillary, obviously she cant say dont campaign for me. High popularity, poor economy, what does she really want him to do . You have the inside here. He can energize people, his ratings are above 50 . He has been out of the public eye. Activist president in the last part of his term here. More active hes been interestingly the ratings have gone up. People are beginning to appreciate that he brought the economy back from the brink, they are beginning to see positive aspects of the healthcare bill kick into place. So i think hes leaving here not a deficit but an asset. Maria when we speak to managers of businesses over and over again they continue to blame obamacare for the reason that theyre not hiring, they say theyve turned fulltime positions into part time positions and cut jobs. You think that the healthcare legislation has helped grow the economy. Is that what youre saying . No, people are seeing positive effects, they dont have to worry about preexisting conditions, they dont have to worry about what happens to their kids who are still in school or off health care, some of the benefits are really coming to the floor. Im just saying that he started out where it would have been in problem, today hes an asset and can go campaign almost everywhere. One of the largest providers United Health care has pulled out of almost every state because of the cost and affordability. So, you know, we are all supportive of people Getting Health Care but its got to be affordable and has to be equitable Going Forward. Maria thats coming from a businessman and thats what we hear continually from businesses. Let me ask you about hillary pivoting message, she updated twitter avatar last night. Tonight we can say with pride that in america theres no barrier to great and no ceiling to high, continues to highlight position for female nominee for the president , this is going to be the platform, isnt it . Well, i think what she said also is we are going to bring people together. I think she has broken a barrier, you know, with 18 million last night, this time he broke through the barrier, democrats have had back to back historic moments with the presidency, its not the only one and it certainly going to be her only message. Maria even those who did not vote for president obama were filled with pride on inauguration weekend because i think people really did see it that way, wow, history being made, do you feel the same way today with history being made for Hillary Clinton, i mean, as a woman . I dont think theres any equality on the fact that youre a woman and thats what she has been running on. Im a woman, im woman. Ted cruz was the first hispanic to win a primary caucus and we never heard anything about it. I dont think its an achievement and she should be running on merits of candidacy, which she cant with a lot of that in question. That should be what dictates the outcome of this campaign and not outcome of this november, but not because shes a woman. Maria there is that sentiments, does it hurt her . Well, look the notion that anyone could be president in america, the notion that when parents take their children, their daughters and their sons out to an event, their daughters and sons could grow up to be president. Its just a powerful notion that young people in the country needed to hear and thats the message sent by this nomination. Maria all right, lets leave it right there on the wonderful note. Mark, good to see you. Horrific road rage to tell you about caught on video in croafl, both the drivers of the car and motorcycle arrested. Maria do people drink more or do they pull back and try to go to cheaper brand . We havent seen any reduction in sales, our sales are up by three times in north america in the last five years. Biggest restriction we have is we simply didnt make enough over the last four or five decades. Nobody anticipated the growth of china, brazil and far east, for that matter. Shes making history becoming the first woman in history to secure the nomination of a Major Political party in the u. S. Robert gray is standing by in los angeles with more. Robert, good morning. Good morning, maria, Hillary Clinton winning the california primary, much more easily than had been predicted. Polls leading up to the voting had her with a 2point lead over Bernie Sanders. In fact, one la times that had Bernie Sanders with a slim lead among eligible voters. Although they correctly did say among likely voters clinton had the lead. Take a look at 56 for clinton, 43 for sanders as counting to count ballots there. Donald trump taking the republican primary very easily. 75 for trump there. Bernie sanders in his speech last night we were there. It have at santa monica airport, there was no way they should let donald trump be the president , sounded almost as if he was trying to call folks behind clinton, one of her theme songs is the fight song and bernie says theyre going to keep on fighting. An ex tuesday we continue to fight in the last primary. We are going to fight hard to win the primary in washington, d. C. And then we take our fight for social, economic, racial and environment justice to philadelphia, pennsylvania. [cheers and applause] now, sanders was booed when he said he spoke with clinton and congratulated her on her victories. Maria robert, thank you so much, robert gray, we will keep checking back request with you. Are you surprised, hillary winning becoming the first woman for any major party and donald trump trying to put the past behind . Not surprised at all. This is certainly what we expected, this particular type of race, there may be surprises coming up, though, as we go down the path. Maria what do you mean . I have no idea whats going to happen with the fbi investigation of Hillary Clinton and what dynamics will play in the race and its substantial and i dont think many people are talking about it, putting our heads in the sand and saying lets not talk about that, but i think it could be a major factor. Maria we were just talking about that a minute ago and dagen brought that up and the fact that its sort up to mr. Coney at this point, when are we going to get the details and when will she speak to the fbi. Shes been saying i cant wait to speak to them. Whats interesting is regardless of the legality or illegality of what she did, when youre talking about a position like the president of the United States, theres going to be a lot of difficult decisions that impact the lives of every american. Do you want somebody who has demonstrated poor judgment in charge of that . Dagen dr. Carson is close to endorsing Hillary Clinton and has already made what sounded like one Campaign Speech on her behalf. More to come, do you think that he would go out on a limb if it was a tricky limb that could snap, meaning an indict recommendation was really on the horizon. Well, i think he has to take into consideration the fact that if hillary gets in, his legacy will be protected and it will be enhanced. And if donald trump gets in, he is lig legacy will be destroyed. Believe me, he has a good reason to get behind her. Maria thats a good point. Hillary has said specifically that she will build on his policy, she will build on obamacare and build on the doddfrank legislation. And what that really means is a continuation of the pathway that we are on. 75 of americans believe we are on the wrong pathway. Do they want to continue down that pathway . Again, history is a great instructor, if we look back at other nations and the things that happened before their fall, you can see many of those things coming right now. Why dont we learn from those things and take corrective action before it occurs . Maybe its human nature and maybe we are not able to learn. Do you think that donald trump is he focused on sort of building his data and analytics operation and fundamental foundations of a campaign now that hes won the nomination . Well, obviously those things are important, but the more important thing is he continue to connect to the people. The people understand that there is a major problem and its a republican problem and its a democrat problem. Its a matter of the government having tbrown and infiltrated and exactly what our Founding Fathers said if we took our eye off the ball. Theyre willing to take risk on an unpolitical identity like donald trump. Maria yeah, at this point it looks like hes softening tone last night promising to make the country proud. Listen to this, dr. Carson. I understand the responsibility of carrying the mantle and i will never ever let you down, too much work, too many people, blood, sweat and tears and never let you down. I will make you proud of our party and our movement and thats what it is a moment. Maria he would he make the party proud . Well, you know, its difficult because i speak from experience, i used to have a temper and i used to go after people and you couldnt hit me without me hitting you back. Maria not like donald trump. I cant compare you to donald trump in that regard, dr. Carson, we watched you on the primaries. Well, you dont know what i used to be like. Once i came to an understanding that it was actually not a sign of strength to always strike back, it was a sign of strength to be able to ignore it and not to allow everybody to get under your skin. Maria so you were a wild and crazy guy at one point . Oh, you dont want to know. [laughter] but, you know, fortunately for me theres a god up there and he smiled on me and now i understand. I have a question, dr. Carson theres been discussion wherebe, people say its impossible that they would ever vote for trump and do you think theres an opportunity for trump there and how he would go about getting support from note voters . I think theres a tremendous opportunity to deemphasize Political Parties and to talk about those things that identify us as unique, what makes america that shiny city on the hill . If you begin to talk about those things that would resinate with everybody. Everybody should be impacted by the accumulating debt, their children and grandchildren will be impacted by that. Everybody is impacted by, you know, terrorists who want to destroy us, you need to focus on those issues, education, what empowers people, gives you the ability to control your own life and if he begins to focus on those things, i think a lot of people will not so much concentrate on democrat or republican. Maria do you think as the general election begins to take shape the importance of the vp pick gets greater, particularly where you see all the negatives, the high negatives for donald trump and the high negatives for Hillary Clinton, how important this campaign will the Vice President ial name will be . I think it may be more important than it traditionally has been. I think it would be very important to pick a Vice President who doesnt just do the traditional Vice President ial role, but who really can play a substantial role in help to go resolve incredible problems that we have. He needs to pick somebody who has the ability to accomplish things. Maria dr. Ben carson, good to see you, thank you so much you too, thank you, maria. Maria facebook under fire, gun owners that are crying foul. The latest controversy for the social media titan. All across the state, the economy is growing, maria welcome back, a growing number of isis members asking western governments for help in returning home. Cheryl casone with the story and the other headlines. Cheryl isis members recruited from the west have been contacted the government asking for help in escaping from the region. Some have turned up at Diplomatic Missions in turkey, others have sent messages to their governments. This comes as isis continues to lose ground in syria and iraq and has recently been shown executing some of its own fighters. Well, a pickup truck slamming into a group of byceclist. The truck was being driven and police say that no officers were pursuing the vehicle at the time. The 50yearold driver fled from the scene but police did arrest him a short time later. And we are watching shares, now the disappointing earnings coming a week after lulu criticized for tail to go keep up with Market Trends but lulu raised profit for the year. And then theres this story, maria, rare defect is making quarters from 1970 worth thousands of dollars. The mistake happened when some of the proof quarters from that year were printed over 1941 canadian quarters, so the quarters ended up with a misprint, its really difficult to see. We are trying to magnify it as best we can for you, the year 1941 appears just before the word dollar on one side of the coin and then faint lettering visible on the front of the coin as well. At least one of the rare quarters is on sale for 35,000, i dont know if its going to go for that much but its not clear how many quarters have the defect or where they are. I mean, the search is on. Maria that is funny. I have to check out pockets, you guys. Thank you so much, cheryl. You mentioned lululemon, cheryl, dagen, this is more of the same, do you think or specific to lululemon . Dagen i think its specific to lululemon with the comparisons year over year being tough. You have the founder, the former guy running the company out there running his mouth about whats wrong whats wrong with lululemon. I think that its a tougher market. I think that you have Apparel Companies and under armour and nike are going great guns in terms of taking on lululemons business. We have nothing but fans here. Im somewhat in the middle. I dont like logos on everything that i own. We are helping them build up their numbers. Maria one i dont goa pair of pants at a time. Coming up facebook going after firearms now, gun owners say social media are leaving them concealed. Back in a minute more maria welcome back, the owners of several pages the social media has been suppressing posts and responsible for decline of website traffic. Got to get your take on this. Do you feel that facebook, are you a big user of facebook . Yes. Maria versus twitter and versus instagram . I think theres been so much evidence that this is going on but the trick is facebook is a private company and has liberal views so why would it not promote the views. I think its important to do what the pages are doing and calling it out. When theyre talking about senators investigating it, they can promote whatever they want and not promote. I think its important to call it out so people will know that its going on and be aware of it. Im not going to get off of facebook even though i disagree with this because i love it so much. Maria do you feel when youre on facebook that perhaps maybe the posts have been chronical to a certain way . Absolutely. It only makes sense because this they have actual human beings. Every human being has a bias and of course thats going to be evident. Maria theyre trying to push back on that. Dagen i give credit to Mark Zuckerberg in terms of how they were parsing the news. He did react quickly and invited conservatives out to facebook headquarters but in terms of gun ownership, if you are prolife, if you are a progun Second Amendment proponent and if youre a godfearing and talk about a religion all of the time youre a peria on facebook. Facebook if you promote gun ownership, they equate that with gun violence and thats where the company gets it so wrong. You have isis fighters that have facebook pages but somehow thats okay. The problems for facebook is political communications. So now theres the first with the trending topics as gun control and bias against conservatives and then this story as well. I think theres a danger there. Facebook was concerned about the message that was sending users because he did invite all those conservatives to come to try to show them how it works and theres a concern on their behalf. Maria you have to question, what else am i not sighing that i would be getting elsewhere. People get their news from facebook. You can say thats not a good thing but a lot of people do. Maria and from twitter. Yeah, absolutely. Maria all right. Dagen also remember facebook owns instagram, facebook owns whatsapp. Its not just facebook. Its a platform of how they edit content. They edit nudity all of the time on instagram. Maria yes, we are on the left, then you would know what youre getting, but if you dont know what youre getting and they havent necessarily said, look, we have commentators, then thats where it becomes a problem. You think youre reading just, you know, news where its actually youre reading in many cases opinions. Its clear now to more people that thats whats happening. I think its important to make people aware so they do know that even though facebook dont do it themselves. Now more people know. Were reso e Mark Zuckerberg is on the issue. I think that coupled with some of the recent stories is a little bit troubling for a lot of facebook users. Maria yeah, coming up a twitter hack leaving nfl fans in shock yesterday. Commissioner roger says despite tweet he is alive and well, the fallout from the hack. Next a crude awakening, we are checking it out next when a moment turns romantic why pause to take a pill . Good wednesday morning, everybody, welcome back. Im maria bartiromo. Its wednesday june 8th. The top stories, the primary season for the 2016 election is almost in the books. And for Hillary Clinton last night, the Associated Press is falling calling the california primary. Bernie sanders is vowing to move on. I know it never feels good to put your heart into a cause or a candidate you believe in and to come up short. All of those Bernie Sanders voters who have been left out in the cold by a rigged system of super delegates, we welcome you with open arms. I am pretty good in arithmetic and i know that the fight in front of us is a very, very steep fight, but we will continue to fight for every vote and every delegate. Maria meanwhile, honoring baseballs role in americas recovery from 9 september 11th. Theyll feature the jersey worn by mike piazza, sealed here. And Anthony Scaramucci bought the jersey, there it is. And mixed action, week Economic Data out of china, and the world bank lowered the forecast by 2. 4 . Yields are at record lows. The European Central bank, to buy Corporate Bonds today. The wall street journal says its bought debt in the telecom and insurance sectors. In the u. S. , futures are edging higher. Its pretty much where it has been throughout the morning. And expect it to open up about 30 points. Donald trump is looking toward the general election now where hell face off against Hillary Clinton. Now the Presumptive Democratic nominee for president. Donald is no longer selffunding his campaign as protrump sum super pacs purchased ads for the battle ahead. Joining us is ed rollins. Good to see you. Thank you so much. Maria thank you for joining us. What do you need to do at this super pac to ensure that youre raising the money required . My super pac is not going to spend a lot of money on ads. Traditionally thats what they do, they pay hundreds of millions on ads and i dont think theyre as effective as they used to be. There are 11 states that matter, ohio, florida, pennsylvania, michigan, those type states and try to go in and make sure whatever the Trump Campaign has in place that i dont duplicate, but if theres a shortfall, i fix, find your voters, get your voters to the polls, a lot of ground operation. The Trump Campaign, obviously, has bought this election on the cheap and spent less than any other candidate and ran a Brilliant Campaign and at the end of the day, a massive victory yesterday and i think to a certain extent youve now got a lot of pieces in place. The Obama Campaign was a Great Campaign and she built on that and she finished strong, its going to be a close and knockdown race. Maria its interesting you say the ads dont matter. You spent 140 million spent by jeb bush, that didnt do anything, thats a super pac. I would argue there are other elements to the campaign you can do a lot of the money people dont want to just, you know, put 15, 20 million into ads that are worthless. Are you concerned that hillary has had this kind of infrastructure in place throughout the entire primary campaign and with trump just kind of building it up now . Sure, im always concerned about that, but at the end of the day, what he has, hes the agent of change and he basically a place she cant go. She cant be viewed as a strong leader and thats what he has to project. I can make decisions. The country wants a change, im the change agent, you want four more years of obama and the same policies, then youve got her. Dagen and this is a simple, maybe stupid question, but how do you get potential trump voters out to actually vote in november . How do you do that . You identify them. One of the problems with his campaign, a lot of people have turned out at rallies and people obviously turned out to support him, but what you have to do, like obama did, you find every single voter and dig them out and make sure they vote on election day and when youre in a very close election, which this is probably a 2 or 3 election at the end of the day, make sure every one of your voter is identified. Someone knocks on the door, offers them a ride to the polls and calls beforehand. Do the mechanical things. Three elements to a campaign, find the voters, communicate with the voters and get nem to the polls on election day. More voters in california voted absentee than in the primary. Youve got to make sure that the absentee ballots, get those in advance. Speaking of the voters. Hillary clinton has made it clear that shes going to play the gender card. And i know that president obama did well with young women voters. Are you seeing the same level of enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton . No, im not and two elements were important for the obama coalition, young voters, many of them supported Bernie Sanders and record turnout africanamerican and 11 of the population is africanamerican so he had actually 2 or 3 point boost. I am not sure she has that intensity and among young voters after she is trying to get the sanders voters to come to her, thats a long, hard battle. Maria how important is president obamas endorsement . More important than his endorsement, hes going to go out and campaign and most president s dont campaign actively for their successor, they may have endorsed them. My concern, if i was in her campaign, hes a much better candidate than she is. Every days going out and a comparison. If he goes to the Africanamerican Community and its helpful. If hes out every day and hes a star and the attention is on him as opposed to her, thats not a good thing. Equally important, the Trump Campaign, i dont run the Trump Campaign, but i would hope that they would wrap her around obama and take the bad policies, economic policies, listen, you want four more years of this . Don by the way, hes also accusing the Clinton Family of using their position in washington for their own political gain. Listen to this, i want your reaction. Hillary clinton turned the state department into her private hedge fund. The russians, the saudis, the chinese, all gave money to bill and hillary and got favorable treatment in return. Its a sad day in america when foreign governments with deep pockets have more influence in our own country than our great citizens. Maria this is an important point that he just made. Its the investigators are circling around the foundation for this very reason. Will it resonate . Well see. Its up to him to drive that agenda. I think its legitimate. I think theres been nothing, but drama around the clintons for 30 years, from the days when he was president and renting out the lincoln bedroom or big donors got to fly on air force one. Theres been nothing, but controversy around them. If you got into the Clinton Foundation. Benghazi and things are complicated, emails is complicated, but basically Foreign Countries giving money to the Clinton Foundation while shes secretary of state with demands for certain things, those are the issues i think that you can peel the bark off of. Dagen if youre trump, how far back do you go . Do you talk about whitewater . No, i would start with her right today. Id take her apart on syria, take her apart on benghazi, on libya, these are the things that she basically was a part of this administration, making those recommendations. Maria and isis getting stronger. Look at the economy, i think donald trump has a strong message to the disaffected in this country, particularly the middle class and blue collar worker. Are there enough of them, enough Blue Collar Workers to make up with his numbers with hispanics and women . There are a lot of voter groups, i dont like to say there are 50 of women and nice of you trying to avoid changing the behavior of women because youd be ruling the world if you could do that. I have a daughter, three dog girls and a wonderful wife. And at the end of the day here, youve got to put different coalitions together. Its 11 states, its not 50 states. Most of those states are going to vote as they always have. Its ohio and florida. And you have to go in there and its always about 51 plus one. And i think each state has a little different targeting. My sense is a lot of women who care very much about job, care about safety, care about isis and things like that, care about their children. What donald trump has the advantage of, hes a decision maker. Having served in the white house, the president makes a decision every day thats tough to make. She obviously has struggled with decisions as did her husband. What he argues, i can fix this economy, i understand this, ive lived in this world, i know how to make the tough economic decisions to move this economy forward. Maria will that go with his vp pick. If ohio so important, is one of those critical swing states. Does he want to have john kasich . John kasich would be a superb candidate and at a minimum, you need john kasich to basically run his state and try to make it winning for him and the senate race which is very tough with senator portman who is up in a tough reelection against a former governor, so theres a lot at play here. But those two states, we cant win, we cant get to 270 without florida and ohio. They can win without those two. We have to win those two. Thats target number one. The other states, you have to get six or seven states to make the difference. My pleasure, thank you very much. Maria ed rollins. The Baseball Hall of fame looking to honor we lost. And the Corporate Bond program today, the pressure surrounding mario draghi in a minute. Dont stop, it will soon be here it will be here better than before, yesterdays gone, yesterdays gone welcome back. 45 minutes away from the opening bell. Were expecting a higher opening for the broader averages. Dow industrials set to open up about 40 points. Crude oil now at an eight month high. Topping 51 a barrel in overnight trading and its below that level. Its at 51. 01. Supply disruptions behind this move in oil and there were disruptions in nigeria, that certainly drove the move higher as well as a larger than expected decline in inventories here in the u. S. Verphone shares cutting the full year outlook reporting weaker than expected earnings. And announcing a Strategic Review which will likely lead to layoffs. Lending club is bouncing today. The company and recently ousted ceo is looking to buy it back. And they held talks with banks and private equities and theres an internal investigation that found they falsified information. And in an effort to prop up the regions economy, a policy aims to buy billions in corporate debt from Companies Like volkswagen, tmobile, anheuserbusch inbev. Stuart varney with us right now. He has a problem with this. Stuart, good to see you. Stuart you, too, maria. Maria whats at issue . Im pretty wellknown for not doing much about the ecb. If you ever use that expression on my show ill kick you right out. Maria European Central bank. Dagen theres another one, too, quantitative easing. Maria you dont like that either. Stuart but this, this rises to a certain occasion, can you imagine the central bank of europe is going to buy the bonds of european countries. Now, i think weve seen this before in japan and ive not seen this before in europe and i hope never to see it in america. Can you imagine how theyre going to decide which companies are going to have their bonds bought by the central bank . Can you imagine the politics of this . Do you really think that the ecb will buy the bonds of volkswagen embroiled as it is in the cheating scandal . Would they buy into an oil company . How politically incorrect can you get . Would they buy the bonds of bayer which wants to buy monsanto involved in gmo . And the europeans have just politicized the whole Corporate Bond market and thats a very serious thing to do. Ive got a problem with it. Maria the journal says its telecom, insurance and arguably looking for the highest yield, stu. Stuart arguably, but can you imagine the politicians staying out of this . Don no. Stuart its out of the question, its a political move and followed japan. Japan had negative Interest Rates and i believe the Japanese Central bank involved itself in the Corporate Structure inside japan. Europe is going down that road and its a road to failure if you ask me. Maria and dagen, thats gone completely wrong, the wrong way in japan for sure. Dagen and stuart, these central bankers, theyre naked and dont know it. Someone needs to buy them a mirror and put it in their headquarters and say, you are powerless at this point and the more you do the worse it gets. Stuart whats that expression, pushing on a string . Is that the right expression to use at this time . Yes, sir. Stuart all theyve done has not theyve held the line, but havent produced a dynamic and robust economy. If they were to think about tax cuts, maybe youd have a different thing. But the European Central bank cannot cut taxes in individual countries. So theyre kind of stuck. What are they going to do . They politicize the Corporate Bond structure. Maria frankly, you could look at lack of fiscal reform in the u. S. As keeping us in this very tight range of growth of 2 , right . I agree 100 , yeah, supposing janet yellen would make a similar proposal. Which companies would she buy . Its not going to happen, but imagine for a second. Can you imagine the politics of that . Good lord. Maria see you in about 15 minutes and i know we wont hear any ecb or qe in 15 minutes on varney company. Stuart youve got that right. Maria that starts at 9 00 eastern. And the benches cleared at camden yard. The likely suspensions some players could be facing. Its going to be different when we see each other debate each other. Theyve never faced each other in that format and im so excited. Maria when do the debates start . Way after the convention in august. Excited early. Donald trump stop tweeting in silly things and fights. There are a lot of republicans counting on you, im concerned what a third term of president obama would do this had country. Focus on economic messages i know you can drive efficiency. Get it together, lock it up. Come on. And on christie, stop shadow boxing with yourself. Like, its time to focus on Hillary Clinton. Maria and the issue at hand, the economy. Right, the economy and terrorism are the two issues where he is strongest in a head to head against Hillary Clinton and to that point, to all the democrats who think that they have are going to have it ease between now and november, donald trump is a very smart man and he is able to adapt and if they underestimate him, look out, particularly in a debate. Maria thats true. The debates are going to be so fantastic. I think there are three debates in the general election. I think thats right sthoo well see how this goes. Its going to be a policy base. To both candidates dont use the facial expressions that kat and i use all day long. Going like this. [laughter] what . Why . Oh, great to see you all. Ladies, great show. November 8th, exactly five months away. Are you ready for this . Good morning, everyone. Shock of the day, hillary won california by a huge margin. Nobody saw that coming. She is the democrats candidate. Did the media mess with yesterdays voting . We will explain that one. Bernie not happy about any of this. He seemed to accept he will not be the nominee, but he will take his agenda to the convention. Reportedly hes laying off half of his Campaign Staff. And trump, hes doing what he does best
