They were excited to find out about tax rates and know what hes going to do with the individual income tax rate, touched on cap gains, elimination of death tax. I think those are all positive steps. All of that is well and good and most people want to hear that and have a rationale for it. Putting some specificity around 25 million jobs, 4 growth rate rather than being asked as our current leaders have to accept a socalled new normal. Theres nothing normal about what were doing. This is a period of anomaly in American Economic history and donald trump has been the only candidate talking about that reality and talking about the potential represented by so many of our unemployed, millions upon millions of them and the potential of this economy to once again be achieving 4 growth. But it cant to be done without following his policy that he articulated first and now brings forward which is America First and talking about fair trade deals. Thats very true. And making certain that the trade deals are going to be pro america. Making certain that the child care policies are pro family. Making certain that economic policies are pro workers. Those are all things that are going to make a big difference. And i got to tell you too, i think one of the things thats going to make a difference which a President Donald Trump is the American People are going to go back and grab that can do attitude that has made this country great. They will believe that they and their employers are going to be able to do this. New start businesses are going to believe that theres going to be somebody to help them fight back against bureaucrats so that they can see those dreams come true and build those companies. And at one time, congresswoman, you and i would have been talking about the bureaucrats but now the American Workers is fighting against so many people and American Families. Thats right. Run that through the income statement, thats a lot more dividends to come but more importantly a lot more Capital Expenditures to come. Capital expenditures which usually and typically invite investment in america and that investment then would create jobs. Yes. But we have a Corporate America right now that wont repatriate its profits overseas, 2. 5 trillion remains in accounts offshore around the globe. Instead of being invested in this country, creating those jobs in a dynamic economy. Thats right. How does donald trump change it and how does Corporate America change its direction . Heres how donald will change it. Hell cut the rate on repatriation to 10 . 10 is not a bad number for bringing things back. Nobody is going to bring it back at 35 . These people, these companies have already paid tax in whatever foreign country they are in. So it isnt like this is pretax money, its money thats already been taxed. But at the same time, those companies were not innocents abroad if i can use the expression. They knew what the tax rate would be. They made a conscious decision to defer investment of that money and refuse to repatriate that money. 10 is an incentive to do so. Its going to take more than that dont you think . It will. Hes doing that. Now when you get it back and can reinvest it, because of the new 15 rate, 85 of pretax comes down to posttax. Before it was only 65 . What does that mean . That means in plain terms any given investment makes up a 30 posttax rate of return than before. Thats a huge incentive. 10 is 50 better than even under the new tax rate that would accompany the trump presidency. Exactly. This is exciting to think about. The American Economy with leaders that are now dower, depressive and so dismissive of american exceptionalism and ambitions of a middle class and those who aspire to it. It is nice, it is wonderful, it is beautiful to see this kind of energy being discussed. Absolutely. And at least implied by a president ial candidate. More than implied. Well, the forecast that i made relied on a comparison of the strength of the two candidates and i always said donald trump was the stronger candidate that was shown in the primaries. He did much better in the primaries relative to the opposition he had than Hillary Clinton. So i always thought he had the stronger hand and just seems to be coming through right now. In that regard, he out performed his polling in the last half of the primary season by doing much better than the polls suggested in the actual elections. Do you expect that phenomenon to be replicated in the general election november 8th . Well i always feel that the polls are sort of lagging in capturing Donald Trumps appeal, and as you mentioned, you mentioned the Los Angeles Times poll. The polls that use the internet are usually quite different from the telephone polls. Telephone polls have a very difficult time reaching the public these days. People dont pick up their phone any more. So im really skeptical about the polls. One of the biggest outliars in this election so far and im not saying they are wrong, the Washington Post abc poll continues to be away from the pack. They may be proved right, they may be proved wrong but all we do know right now they are an out liar and regarded as one of the traditional strongest polls. I won whats going on. One thing you want to look at when you see a poll is whats the division by democrats and republicans. It tells you a lot. I mean if the democrats have a lead of ten points or more in a poll well you know somebody is hillary is way ahead. I would say any poll that has democrats ahead by more than four or five points i would be very skeptical because thats just not right.
