I cant answer that. But i take care of patients and i do my job. Other people do their job. Lou the white house infuriating many with its indefensible refusal to not order it now and travel from west african countries stricken by ebola vmax is at this point our core priority is protecting the American Public, we are not going to put in place a travel ban and that is because as described, putting in place a travel ban could have a pretty perverse effect on people who are seeking to travel to this country and it would give them an incentive to not be candid or honest even about their travel history. Lou Thomas Eric Duncan enter the United States only by lying according to some. There was no travel ban in place then or now. The Obama Administration is clearly not putting the protection of our Public Health as its principal priority. Here is the map that shows the african nation that has been restricted travel from the of ebola affected nations. More than 25 countries have done so. We will be taking up the administrations response with leading medical and Public Health experts tonight and also we will be bringing you some muchneeded good news about wall street. Stocks finishing the day sharply higher and the dow jones up more than 260point. The question now is on the minds of many investors and we begin now in atlanta where the centers for Disease Control is carrying out what is believed to be a heavily flawed response to ebola in this country. We have jonathan in atlanta with the report. The cdc is trying to tracked down passengers who may have been on the flights that amber vinson took to her destination as well as a return. Officials say they cant rule out the possibility that she was already experiencing mild items, including a lowgrade fever while flying across the country. Lou the white house today defending its appointment of democratic local insider by citing his work and implementing the federal Stimulus Program and an obama policy that was ripe with mismanagement and waste. Washington correspondent james rosen has the report. In selecting his response corda nader, a former chief of staff to Vice President gore and Vice President biden, president obama wanted someone with extensive Management Experience enact what we were looking for is not a ebola expert but an implementation expert. And that is exactly what he is. Reporter but a number found the claim of experience wanting. The American People are trying to have more common focus and this is a job at the cdc that they should be doing. The white house cited claims that the 830 billiondollar Stimulus Program depending on whom you ask aided or impeded the countrys recovery from the great recession. Obama aides also said the appointment was no rebuke to the job Homeland Security adviser lisa monaco had been doing in coordinating the response. Rather they said they will be able to devote 100 of his time to the effort. When exactly did it dawn on president obama that she wouldnt be able to devote 100 of her time to the situation . The president has been a significant amount of time with this team who is responding to this particular situation. And he has been carefully assessing the response that has been in place. Reporter president obama also had on his team this woman, serving since may in the newly created job of policy implementation chief of staff and an assistant secretary for preparedness and response, doctor nicole lurie, whose job it is described as to lead the nation in preventing and respon from the Adverse Health effect of Public Health emergencies. We are here to help individuals and communities get prepared. So that if anything that happens, they are ready and they can recover as quickly as possible. We are here to help them plan for that and we are here to help them do that and we are here to help them recover four when asked if ron will be drawing a salary, they had no answer at the white house. They said that he will begin his job soon and stay on the job an estimated five to six months. Lou thank you very much. James rosen from the white house. New reports on the u. S. But worse, 500 of the soldiers have been held up in liberian hotels while the military is Building Infrastructure on the ground. The number of troops going to west africa is expected to climb to 4000 within the coming weeks. Turning now to the war on terror and the Islamic State, kurdish officials in kobani tonight claimed the radical islamist terrorists are in retreat. U. S. Officials estimate nearly 400 Islamic State terrorists have been killed since the Campaign Began a month ago. Senior Foreign Affairs correspondent on the turkey syria border with our report. Has this been stopped . Fighting continued between isis and the kurdish defenders but it was still down. Sure is still hold 20 or more of the town, some claim that the militants are in retreat. If they are, it is in part because of this. The u. S. Airpower. We have been seeing more u. S. Sixtysix airstrikes to be exact this gentle things that it is working and what that. General john allen maintains that turkeys objectives in regard to the Islamic State are the same as ours and other Coalition Partners despite turkeys refusal to fight on the battlefield or fly airstrikes against Islamic State targets. President obama refuses to restrict travel from western africa and the Administration Confirms the new ebola czar isnt all about Public Health. Its not solely a medical response. That means that he is the right person for the job. Person for the job. Toica, we need to leave right now pop music playing i need to get something dance recitals are so boring. video game noises theres a me no one knows waiting to be set free. So whats the empty suitcase for . The grand prize trophy. Duh jessica speaks i was born to be somebody. Lou president obama once again being called out for his misstatements and misrepresentations on obamacare. The Washington Post fact checker taking issue with this claim. If we hadnt taken this on and premiums that kept growing at the rate that they did the last decade, the average premium for family Coverage Today with the 1800 higher than they are. Now, most people dont realize it, but that is 1800 that you dont have to pay out of your pocket or see vanish from your paycheck. It is like an 1800dollar tax cut. Lou the president is using fuzzy math and there are many other factors at work in the Health Spending slowdown and u. S. Standards for protecting Health Care Workers from ebola, weaker than most in west africa. Weak, but according to the leader of a group treating victims of the virus, the group samaritans purse stating that we are not comfortable with the centers for Disease Control and prevention. Joining us now is the chairman urologist of lenox hill hospital, doctor david samadi. Its good to have you with us. Dinky for having me. Lou we also have doctor aileen marty, professor of Infectious Diseases at Florida International university. Health care workers cant trust the cdc protocols, should the American Public . It is a critical issue. There is no real leadership going on in liberia and this is escalating so rapidly, managing the body, getting rid of problems. Changing the ritual of what we used to do and what we need to do at this point. And so whatever the guidelines are, its not getting through to Health Care Workers over there. We are also losing a lot of Health Care Workers and so until some leadership appears on the ground, unfortunately we are going to have a lot of issues coming up in the near future. Lou doctor aileen marty, what are your thoughts . We do need a coordinated response and i think the United Nations and the World Health Organization have spoken to that as well, that we need a coordinated response, International Response for this entire outbreak because it is of international concern. Lou the appointment of a man who has no experience in managing a Large Organization and no experience in medicine. Is a mixed feeling about this. And i think at this point the popularity of the cdc has gone from 65 in may to about 30 and they need someone that can make a real executive decision and if someone has been exposed location such as mr. Duncan who has indirect exposure, one should make a decision that no one is going to get into this. Hopefully he will be able to make those decisions. Lou the favorable ratings have just plummeted. There is a huge credibility gap at the entire administration. But now the cdc at a time when the work is most critical, there is very little public trust. It will be the impact . The impact of the lack of public trust for the cdc or the impact of having implemented a ebola czar . Lou either one or both, as you please. First, let me address the ebola czar issue. It is a complex and multifaceted problem because its a very dangerous disease that has to be contained. Saying that, it still should be headed by someone whos experienced is primarily Public Health or medicine and then have advisors that can help in those other aspects. That would be my particular preference. But in terms of the other question of the cdc, i can tell you that my personal experience working with the cdc overseas has been outstanding, they have done outstanding work and im very sad to see that that hasnt been what we have been seeing here. Lou i think it is disappointing for all of us who have worked with the centers for Disease Control, covering stories and the medical community itself. But the fact is that the American Public itself is just not being served as it has every right to be served. One of the things that we are hearing and we hear it throughout the day, dont panic over ebola. And the stock market for crying out loud. This is a deadly serious virus and we have people thinking this virus is already having an impact on our economy. I am glad that you brought this up. About a month ago or so, i talked about winning the travel out of that country. The principle of Infectious Disease and i hope that we would also make a comment on this, is to really isolate and contain the word starts from. 0. And so this travel ban is a medical move and we are sending a lot of troops and we should have a multiingle approached us. Stop the flow of some of the patients outside the country, make sure that we contain medicine at the same time we have to prepare ourselves with the vaccine. So we have to be able to put some Ebola Treatment Centers right here on the ground in many different states. You talk about this not being prepared today to handle these large valium of patients coming on the ground. Its also a National Security problem as well as affecting a business structure. So we need to move quickly and with great executive decision so there are no doubts about it in the future. Lou doctor aileen marty, i just want to talk about this, doctor david samadi has a long call for the travel ban to your credit in my judgment. Doctor david samadi, you get the last word. Perhaps your view on that travel ban and what we have to do to assure the American Public that they are safe. I think showing the American Public is critical. I think one good move that was made yesterdays the establishment of the Emergency Operations center. That is something that we desperately needed to get started now that the situation has been going on in the United States. Im afraid the cat is out of the back bag as far as the travel ban goes. In reality we have to start thinking of other ways in which we can control what is going on right here and we have to Pay Attention to what just happened with the cruise ship that went to mexico and how other countries will respond to us if we, as the leader lou does it not seem entirely with rational but the governor of mexico would not permit the landing of that ship imap i certainly hope that our authorities would not permit a ship with possible ebola victims aboard. Thats utter madness. I totally see your point of view. What i am trying to point out is that other countries are now viewing our nation isnt at risk nation for than and so we have to be very careful what kind of decisions we are making as leaders of the free world. Its been interest in. Lou i would hope that our entire Public Health structure and system in this country would put the absolute safety is a priority and the wellbeing of the american citizens first. Doctor aileen marty, doctor david samadi, thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. Lou now its time for the location of the evening. A quote that we found relevant in light of the president refusal to order that travel ban from western africa. President Andrew Jackson once said that any man worth his salt will stick up for what he believes is right. But it takes a slightly better man to acknowledge instantly and without reservation that he is in error. Coming up next, a brandnew report reveals the truth behind the obama dror. Coming up next, a brandnew report reveals the truth behind the obama deportation policy and we will take up that issue and just how open our borders really are coming up next. Are coming up next. Stay with [ bell rings ] hi michael looking good trying to keep up with you i told my producer karen that i take metamucil because it helps me feel fuller between meals. Experience the meta effect with our new multiHealth Wellness line and see how one small change can lead to good things. Lou cdc director tom frieden addressing what he called porous borders to contain the ebola crisis. Listen to him at a house hearing yesterday. Right now we know who is coming in. If we try to eliminate travel, the possibility that some will travel over land well mean that we may not be able to do multiple things. We wont be able to check them for fever when they leave. May not have a record of where they were before, in example eight passport or travel status as they travel from one country to another in a. Borders can be porous. Especially in this part of the world. Lou well, you did follow all of his reasoning. My next guest says its obvious that we need both a travel ban and the visa a visa ban from all of those countries. Joining us now is contributing editor heather macdonald. We just heard two doctors arguing over this travel ban. One in favor and 19. Aileen marty echoing tom frieden and a strange piece of reasoning. The public should give no deference to the Public Health establishment. It has been taken over by Political Correctness decades ago and has been placed its mission of protecting the public with the social justice mission. And so the argument that we are given against a travel ban violate the fundamental tenets of Public Health, which has always been isolating the threat and not letting it come and and in this case it means not letting people that pose a risk of bringing ebola in and not as easy as way to stop this. All of the reasoning is flawed. They say the best way to treat it is at the source. Well, that is going to take decades and in the meantime we have to protect america now. Lou doctor tom frieden acknowledging that our borders are porous. And Thomas Eric Duncan been lied to get into this country, as if there were rda band to get into this country. I cant even imagine grown men and women making such arguments. It is preposterous. We are seeing these very dangerous individuals of the mentality and the takeover of Public Health by social justice. These are not theoretical problems any longer, they are very real. Lou very real and lifeanddeath issues that confront us. To that point, the new study and i am almost in shock as i say here speaking to you on this issue. The Migration Policy Institute has found 95 of those deported, lets put this up because this is stunning stuff. Finding that 95 of those deported do we have that full screen . Okay, 95 of those deported between 2009 and 2013 had criminal records. Demonstrating just how the Obama Administration is failing to highlight how the truth is vastly different than what this administration has been claiming. The Migration Policy Institute is not a partisan organization. Sometimes the facts demand attention. The study says even the 95 have criminal histories or multiple which puts them in a felony category anyway. But this proves as if we needed further proof, that the immigration advocacy establishment lies. They have been trained as of family values, lawabiding immigrants that are being hauled away by the administration. But in fact the only people that faced any risk of deportation or criminals at this point. If we cut that further, those are the ones that are going to be staying. Lou 167,000 we know by the estimate have criminal Illegal Immigrants losing our society right now. In fact, the administration on this and the many issues has waged a campaign of disinformation against the American People. These are outright lies on the issue of illegal immigration that they have originated and sustained now for almost six years. Heather macdonald, thank you and always good to see you. Thank you. Lou a sad milestone for the family of andrew tahmooressi. He has been held in mexico in prison for 200 days and not a single comment from president obama. We are coming right back. Is the president putting up a quarantine . A lifelong Democratic Political operative and the government response to ebola. Ananananan lou a top stories that we are following tonight, hawaii on alert for a major storms. A category three hurricane lashing bermuda now with 125mile per hour winds. And Tropical Storm anna expected to bring disruptive winds tomorrow morning. New clashes breaking down and hong kong. Hundreds trying to clear the protest. And the Weekly Standard reporting that negotiators are spinning so much time together that youre going to love this one that they are beginning to crack jokes with one another. That is reassuring. That according to a Senior State Department official that does that they find it humorous that both sides can predict what the other will say. And press secretary josh earnest had the unfortunate task of trying to explain why the Obama Administration appointed ron klain as ebola czar. Is as much water than a medical response. Its a whole of government response to ensure that we are leveraging the necessary resources to protect the public. Lou so how exactly will a hardcore political partisan protect us from ebola . Joining us now to discuss that and more, rich lowry, republican strategist karen hanretty. Thank you both for being with us. If i may turn to you first. Ron klain. The ebola czar. Your reaction . I think he is the Senate Majority czar. Hes there for one purpose only and that is to make sure that everything happening right now around ebola in the middle east, which by the way is why hes reporting to susan rice, it does not further dragged down democrats are running in these races. This is pure politics, there to implement some plan that doesnt even exist at the administration has not fully laid out and probably isnt capable of laying out. Lou do you agree . Rich lowry . Yes, they are anonymously saying that this is about messaging and if anyone could say what the media is saying about this it is interesting. They have had a messaging problem. And there is a sense for weeks that we have been spun. So the last thing you would want if youre going to put someone at the head of this is the figurehead, is a political operative. And especially someone that knows things which would make a lot more sense than this guy. Lou Anthony Fauci is the man during the entire country in the face with the truth. And this looks like an effort to quarantine the truth, as i put it earlier in the broadcast. So karen hanretty, the idea that they would try to rationalize the opposition to a travel ban is dumbfounding if they think that this nonsense will somehow be rendered logical way his fears of the American Public. It was interesting today, there were a couple of democrats they came out and push back against republicans like john boehner who we are calling for a travel ban. You will notice that theres not one democrat running in a Competitive Senate see right now who opposes this travel ban. Wendy davis came out and mark pryor came out to say in favor of temporary travel bans. So ron klain has his work cut out for him because he has to balance the talking points and revised talking points on the one hand and tom frieden versus the democrats were desperately trying to hold onto the majority on the other hand. So good luck to him. The political earth is really moving on this issue. As karen points out, youre seeing the democrats breaking this, kay hagan, and others that came out. And i believe the white house probably talks about how irresponsible and impossible it would be to have a travel ban and is due in. Lou as we are wrapping up here, do the republicans gained the senate by the margin . A couple of years ago i ignored nate silver and i wont make that mistake again. Yes, i believe that they will take the senate. I think that it will be interesting to watch the closing remarks. For instance in new hampshire. We have scott brown who is running neck and neck right now with jeanne shaheen. His Closing Argument is to not vote for her, she walks lockstep with barack obama and i think that that is going to be the Closing Argument for a lot of republicans. With the way things going over the next three weeks, i think about Closing Argument wednesday for republicans. Lou you have the Closing Argument tonight. Republicans will take it narrowly. I think were beginning to see the possibility of maybe a little bit more than that. Theres not a huge unmistakable wave, but the tide is moving in one direction like new hampshire, and is now tied in the possibility of winning it if it keeps going the way it is. So the general environment couldnt be worse. Lou it is quite an election season and we thank you both here for adding insight to all of us. Karen hanretty and rich lowry, thank you so much. Coming up next, the Dow Jones Industrial average a covering to end the week. That could todays gains be masking and uglier reality . We will try to divined answer to that coming up next. Lou stocks rallied today on wall street the s p up 24 points from the nasdaq up 41. Volume on the big board, heavy trading at 4. 4 billion shares. And for the week, the dow jones and s p down 1 , the nasdaq posting fractional weekly losses for a fourth week in a row. Here with herewith the outlook for the market and our economy, moodys chief economist, john lonski and are analysts. Same today as you and i have discussed, the fear factor associated with ebola appears more significant than in past instances of pandemic concerns. The Obama Administration continuing to claim that ebola is under control in this country in the market today responded, up 263 points. Who is right . You know, we havent had any additional outbreaks of people becoming afflicted with ebola. Maybe that is helping sentiment somewhat. In terms of economic fundamentals, the u. S. Economy looks as if its doing quite well. We expect the economy is going to grow from recession and inflation will be well contained, the fed said that they will do everything they can to keep Interest Rates low. Lou the followup from Goldman Sachs talking about more significance, which i think artfully expresses. The fact is that this stuff is scary because our institutions are reacting as we would think. And this president is reacting as we would expect. I cant help but recall if we go back to 2008, many times we were told by highranking government officials, dont worry about the subprime, we have it covered. Its going to be well contained. I cant help but think that the average american has a fresh memory of those statements. Lou only one in 10 households in this country own stocks record right now. And the reason in large measure is because of 2008. Because they said that this thing is upsetting, weve been screwed and we dont want to learn this lesson twice traded to delicate time and then we had janet yellen, the chairman of the federal reserve, the requested chair, as she says, that she said today the that the big issue is income inequality, and purely, its a purely unequivocal value statement that has nothing to do with her response in the fed. Response in the fed. Thats right, maintaining price stability, the other about employment her theres nothing about having an equitable distribution of wealth. Lou why doesnt she walk over to the white house and sort of say to the president here, its time to change your style of leadership because we have 21 Million People who need a private economy to prosper . That is correct and if i go back and look at the data, the only presidency that i found in recent memory, we are the middle class was a reagan presidency and thats where you have the ratio of Employee Compensation to gdp were prophets actually improve and rise and it hasnt actually happened since then. Lou the market, today eight dead cat bounce or is it some sort of is there some sort of magical signal here that we dont have to worry about inflation and recession in europe, and we dont have to worry about the internals of the chinese economy and suddenly we dont have to worry about our own particular flawed fiscal and Monetary Policy . I would save the biggest risk facing the equity market right now might very well be this ebola matter. We find ourselves facing several hundred cases of ebola, the market is going to sell off in a hurry. And we dont know where that is taking us. On the other hand were not going to be facing Price Inflation in this country and i think that we, if anything, will be looking at a continuation of low rates of inflation. Lou i think that we have made a pretty good case right now, including Median Household Income adjustment is below where it was when this president took office. We are still struggling against that. The average Household Net Worth about 85,000, we are looking at some immense challenges here. Thirty seconds for the last word. You have nothing in terms of savings taking place, and this remains until these problems are reversed. But that alone wont do the trick, we also need structural reforms. Lou good luck on that, because that will take a lot in washington dc. John lonski, thank you so much for being here. Thank you. Lou coming up next, her thoughts on the steadfast refusal of obama to ban travel from west africa lou time now for a look at our online poll result. By refusing to ban travel from west africa that president obama is putting his ideology over Public Health. 94 percent of you said yes. And in tonights poll the question is, is the president s new ebola czar an effort to improve comuksz or perhaps instead quarantine the truth. Cast your vote at loudobbs. Com. Time now for a few of your comments. Ray said it seems like all the lies from the left begins with them saying the country is in better shape than what when obama took office.
