What does donald trump have to do in your minds to earn that distinction. At the heart of libertarian principles is a nonaggression policy. You dont attack someone if they dont attack you. One of the things im most optimistic about is we are not going to war with russia. Whether its ukraine or syria or georgia, donald trump has not expressed a willingness to agitate russia. I think thats a good move. Im optimistic about some of these cabinet appointments. I wouldnt call any of them libertarian yet. But on the spectrum of Smaller Government or bigger government, and i know some of them and they are small government type people. Trumps promise to roll back regulations. When i saw you at the rnc. I was there on the floor listening to it. He took a swipe at the World Trade Organization which sort of warmed my heart. Libertarians are for sovereignty and sovereign nations. We dont think we should subject u. S. Citizens to a world government. Kennedy reason is reporting you are being considered for two posts, including energy secretary. What do you think about that. I havent been contacted about that. But if i were contacted about that, i would consider it seriously. I think they need some common sense in the white house as well as in congress. And one of the things that is something we are all going to be watching is the meeting next week with tech titans invited to trump tower for a meeting with the president elect. What would you tell donald trump to ask some of the people from Silicon Valley who were pretty much disinterested in a Successful Campaign of his . I dont know what he needs to ask them. I think they are sort of coming hat in hand. None of them were for him. Some of them worked on hillarys campaign. There is more to effect than just Silicon Valley. There is a lot of tech in manufacturing. A lot of tech in a bunch of different sectors. The presumption in the Previous White House is as long as you had google people around you, that you were tech, and thats not necessarily true. There is a lot more to technology than just a few companies on the west coast. Kennedy where do you stand . Should the Government ForceTech Companies to comply with some of the orders when it comes to certain types of speech on social media platforms . The government shouldnt be forcing anybody to do anything. We are getting back to libertarian principles. One issue that has couple in congress is the subject of intellectual property. Whether there should be patents or not. I hold 29 patents and im a libertarian who says patents are property rights. We honor property rights. Silicon valley hates donald trump. So it will be hard for them to mask their loathing of him. You think new york city is progressive and left wing and liberal and crying over hillary . So they have been living in this bubble. The irony of ironies is the Tech Companies make money by disrupting the future. House the greatest disrupter of all, donald trump. Whats interesting is google put out a want ad look for someone to do conservative outreach in washington, d. C. , the job title is conservative outreach and Public Policy partnerships because these Technology Companies have had a free ride and open door policy to the white house for 8 years and they got whatever they wanted. Kennedy they are all part of the same bubble. And they dont realize there are a lot of people who think differently and they are no longer able to share their frustrations and day to day concerns. The truth is obama expand the war on terror and expand the drone program. This is what is amazing the trump moment. You have an opportunity for conservatives to return to where they have always been. I understand divesting from his businesses and the opinion of certain people. I dont think personal opinion necessarily disqualifies somebody from the presidency. Certainly not constitutionally. But you have a lot of people on both sides of the aisle saying breaking protocol with taiwan not a bad thing when you are talking about a democratically elected president. Im opposed to someone not capable of executing that correctly in office. Kennedy donald trump won enough votes to win the presidency. The Electoral College gave him 306 electoral votes . Do you think we should disband the Electoral College and amended the constitution . No, i do not. But i think it was not devised under any circumstance to be a rubber stamp. Alexander hamilton is clear that it should be empowered to stop people they feel are dangerous. You and i both know that Alexander Hamilton would be disgusted at the kind of chaos that would follow from a presidency being overturned by rogge collectors. He would not approve of this system. Im not sure that that would be his position. Kennedy i contacted a hamiltonian scholar on his issue and i was assured by someone who spent their lifes work learning from Alexander Hamilton that he was all in favorites of a stable government. Im all in favorites of a stable government. But our constitution is clear that the president ial election happens through the Electoral College december 19. If one of the two persons in our system dont get 270 votes, the top three voters are considered by the house of representatives. Im not sure why its quite so scary for all of the people out there screaming. But there is a system in place and its still a smooth transition. Kennedy to what . You are trying to get enough electors to lose their fai as you have to overturn the results of the election . Then what . You are hoping it go to the house of representatives and the house votes for john kasich . The ultimate outcome for me is to vote for someone with whom im comfortable who doesnt demagogue racial groups and doesnt have a conflict of tints across the board. Kennedy i didnt vote for donald trump and that may be worth nothing and thats fine. But next week hes holding a press conference talking about divesting himself of his business. But the last questions you raised are questions that should have been sold more forcefully to voters and they are not necessarily a question of constitutionality or whether this person is qualified for the presidency. Qualification an incredibly subjective thing and treating it likes its an objective criteria is doing a disservice to the tradition you have sworn to uphold and the vote horse placed a faith in the system. And they talk a good game on free markets but are crony capitalists. Neither party is a good fit for people with libertarian ideas. But you had a high profile libertarian person running for president who only got 3 of the vote. He tried to position himself and his ticket asking about the most enticing option of all the people running for president and it didnt get any traction. What does a libertarian third party have to look like to attract moreeople . First all it has to be looked at. The American People have to see the third party and our Mainstream Media didnt allow that. I want to insinuate a libertarian ideas into the Democratic Party because its hard for a third party to be hed in o media politics.
