In which workshops and papers were presented and one has to keep in mind that this was a speech given a pronouncer pronouncement given to the church it was not intended for the general public however it was very telling that the general public including victims were allowed to listen on on his words whats remarkable about the speech is that for a pope that has generally been accused of good words and gestures but not sufficient actions and this is the first time at least in my experience that they see a pope turn on he saw in church and accused him of seriously seriously you know brutal crimes including not only sexual abuse not only a cover up but the use of child pornography the hosting of practices that essentially have no longer not only endangered but have actually made deeper the promise of sexual abuse in the church this was truly remarkable to the extent that it actually snow longer the listening to victims is no longer apologizing but he sexually pointing the finger there regularly at the institution. That is pretty extraordinary to hear from the pope and hes talking about bringing these perpetrators to justice does this mean the church will start now handing over suspected pedophile see the secular authorities. This is actually a very good question and i think that this is one of the biggest concerns of victims and victims associations it is not clear from the words that the pope essentially pronounced that there are any concrete polisi or protocols in place to essentially move either evidence or accuse priests to justice systems nonetheless the fact is the statement was actually a massive sea change so far the church has been talking about since. Know the church is no longer talking about sex the sexual abuse of sins but its crimes and actually making the promise of turning essentially bringing justice or turning perpetrators to justice the question no its about establishing protocols and policies and we can only assume that if this words were actually on this from the pope that the machine is now we movement to try to actually produce the appropriate policies not in his religious Affairs Correspondent for us in rome thank you so much. Yes you know i mean if you checked also the reactions and internet afterwards and ive seen many criticisms against him his and oh hes not getting concrete hes not taking measures you know but then i know it was really specially from organizations for victims was that thats really a bad speech but then i was thinking of a right i think from that point a few yes because in fact he didnt say anything of concrete but what he did is really. Pointing out the principles that no longer silence no longer covering no longer double life no longer of these things and thats something why i would say yes of what it was good that he did it in this way and briefly if you can we have heard some Horror Stories from victims in the past few days you are a Catholic Priest how does it feel now to be associated with an institution that has caused a lot of pain to a lot of these people. You know its really hard because you know first of all im a priest and i want to be. I want to feel the the pain of the victims thats my first thing but we also we have pain and the pope also said that he that so many priests who are doing a good work are really standing last or that im t.
