Russian contacts, nor could we. We have called no witnesses thus far. We have obtained no documents on any Counter Intelligence investigation and we have yet to receive any testimony from the fbi on the investigation of potential links between the Trump Campaign and russia. So we are not in a position to reach any conclusions about that. And i think it very important having been assistant u. S. Attorney for six years that when you begin investigation, you dont begin by stating what you believe to be the conclusion. We are among other things looking at the report that the Intelligence Committee community put out which acknowledged not only the role of russia media but also the hacking and the dumping of documents. We are not accepting even that report at face value. We are investigating the underlying raw intelligence to make sure that the conclusions that the Intelligence Community reached are substantiated by the raw intelligence, and the same ought to be true on each and every aspect of this investigation, whether its on the hacking and dumping of documents, any issues of collusion, the fbi response when it was learned that the russians were in the computers of democratic institutions, the use of russian media, all of these things we are investigating. We should not accept any summary conclusion or form any premature conclusion about where this investigation will lead. I also want to say that in my opinion for the white house to be seeking help from the intelligence leadership either at cia, fbi or elsewhere, to knock down stories it doesnt like is completely inappropriate and threatens the independence of those agencies and their investigation. If indeed mr. Mccabe had conversations awith white house officials officials about whether allegations in the press are true, that is not appropriate. If the zi direcia director was to call reporters on background and knock down stories, thats even more inappropriate. And threatens the independence of that agency and any investigation that that agency may be undertaking in terms of Counter Intelligence.
