Reading this summer . Well, ive got quite of an extensive list item working on. One is my old favorites, anything that the arthur author mark steyn writes is great with me. He has a fabulous author. In fact, i enjoyed his last book was written in 2011 called after america. I enjoyed his books so much that im not getting, where is it . Where is my personal green thing . Right over there, okay. I took his book, and this is my little journal, things i find that are important, and i actually summarized his book. The facts are so salient, arguments are so good. And what i find is that its important to read great books that are classics or very good and his arguments are well. So mark steyn, written 2011. Its so good that i took notes on the powerbook and i quote him all the time. Thats never one. Another book that im reading is called mother of the groom. For the very first time we are having a child that is getting married on june 15. This is a very big deal. Im a foster mom to 23 great kids and we have five biological children and her oldest son picked a beautiful girl is going to marry june 15, and its very different when your mother of the groom versus mother of the bride. I am determined to be the worlds best mother in law. Is Michael Brooks i want to make sure we get this right at the to get off to a good footing im trying to take some steps on being mother of the groom. So whether it is what dress do i buy, how do we deal with expenses, how to help support and assist our daughterinlaw and not detract in any way. I just want to make sure that they did right so i am reading mother of the groom and that one is coming up early so i am getting into this book to make sure i get every right. The of the book that im reading, i was with this author yesterday, Caroline Glick, and this book is called the israeli solution. Its really about the Peace Process between israel and the palestinians. The thesis of her book is what weve been doing for the last decades hasnt worked. Its blown up in our faces time and time again with a twostate solution come and shes saying maybe we should think out of the box and maybe we should consider another way to deal with this very important issue. And so we actually started a new caucus here in congress and gets called the israeli solution and it is and what other ideas are there out there other than the current two state solution. Is there Something Else that might work . We are constantly told that we need to think outside of the box and thats what we want to do. So weird Caroline Glick in yesterday. She has one idea. There are other ideas on how we should deal with this issue. So its the israeli solution caucus. The last book that im looking at right now really is a new book that is out by lynne cheney. She is the wife of former Vice President. Lynching is a very a congresswoman in her own right. Physics and bright, been involved in Academic Excellence in americas public schools. She wrote a biography on one of the Unsung Heroes in United States history of our founding and that would one of our early president s, James Madison. Shes written a brilliant book and am looking forward to reading it. I was honored to be able to go to margaret thatcher, the former prime ministers funeral when she passed away recently. Margaret thatcher was one of the most consequential women and politics in the last 100 years. When i was at the airport lounge in london, the Vice President cheney and lynne cheney were in the airport lounge and i went over and spoke a little bit with mrs. Cheney and asked her what she was working on and she said shes putting together this book on James Madisons life. She was fascinated, and she herself is a fascinating person and just talking a little bit to me about James Madison and washington such a compelling character and she highly motivated me to go to pick up her book and look at it. So this summer im looking at it. One of my favorite genres for reading, im a big, big reader. I always have a book that im reading, and one of my favorite genres is biography. Its the best way to learn history. I love the book on john adams, on truman come under its subjects. I have no doubt that this book by James Madison will be more of the same. Just, the last book i just finished reading was one dealing with the history of the american heiress is a little over 100 just ago that had traveled over to england in search of marrying a duke or a count or a girl. Its a takeoff on down at the, the very popular show on pbs but this is a book ive read that worcester and was a historical version of how this whole process work. And it was a fascinating, fascinating book. So i like to read and widespread of books on a wide variety of subjects to my daughter also just give me another book i read and its called 100 dresses. It was in the metropolitan we seem of art and it was on the 100 most bit of addresses that had been designed by there is decided in the last 100 years. I guess more than that, more than 100 years. Each Saint Laurent dress from 1955 that i love that love to have copied. I love a wide variety, not just political. I like a lot of Different Things but my top of both im recommending is mark steyns book, for myself im reading this one on mother of the groom, then my next book im recommending is the israeli solution by Caroline Glick and then also Lynne Cheneys book on the life of James Madison. And again you cant go wrong with some Light Reading as well. So thats what im reading this summer. What are you reading this summer .
