Hillsdale is located in michigan. Its an old college founded in 1844, teaches the liberal arts to anyone and everyone will who will hear that and is one of the first colleges in the country that forbid any distinctions based on sex or religious based on race, sex or religious belief. Its dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and preservation of civil and religious liberty. It was the spring break of 2020 when our students were away from campus that is something called covid19 caused us not to bring them back and we resumed the last few months this semester. But based on advice and work we have done with of the Hoover Institute in the stamford stanfd university and Martin Coulter formerly of harvard, we developed policies to protect our students and primarily those that are most vulnerable which word our faculty. We regain our footing and quickly held graduation that same year and resumed classes in the fall. In december 2021 we launched an academy of science and freedom in response to the covid19 pandemic in order to better understand the relationship between freedom and science and the pursuit of truth. It is a grave concern as with any lifethreatening pandemic. But the Public Health program developed in response left Many Americans with even more concerns about the confusing and sometimes contradictory policies that were developed in response but also the unscientific and seemingly political decisions coming from the Public Health experts. The response raised serious questions about science and how it operates in Public Affairs and revealed the degree to which Public Health how to become another administrative bureaucracy dominated more by politics and science. Many were frustrated, but very few seriously questioned the nei arrangement. One who did was our speaker this evening. His relentless questioning through congressional oversight, i dont know about you but i vividly recall his questioning of the Public Health officials in the United States senate room led him to focus on the origins of covid19 and then took questions about research and funding that gave rise to the pandemic and then the whole narrativee that grew up around those questions. It is a result of that work into the concerns about the next pandemic. Senatorr paul represented the state of kentucky since 2011. Hes a doctor, graduate of the University School of medicine and he has practiced ophthalmology and knows of what he speaks and hows a serious concern about these questions. I would point out as i told doctor paul earlier that i read many books written by political figures, and this is not one of those. This is a serious and interesting page turning book. The virus has only been out a couple weeks in china and they were saying itsra not transmitd between humans. This is months after it really erupted. We know that it started in the lab that the first three people, we actually know their names. Theyve worked for the one they call the great bat scientist and first patient zero they think hase been you. We know that because they declassified that in the trump administration. These three were sick and the findings were consistent with covid. The pandemic back in 2003 and a 2004 but they didnt have a covid a test but they had the signs and symptoms. If they had admitted the truth and subjected for antibody analysis we could have proved they were the first patients but all the evidence points to that. We know the chinese were dishonest in their death count in all likelihood millions of people died in china and yet there was no real accounting for that. I begin the book by talking about a young ophthalmologist who i say reminded me of myself. I was an ophthalmologist a few years ago and he was idealistic and us all the pandemic coming and began reporting it. If you report or reveal the truth, he was arrested and was made to go through a struggle and to shame himself and admit that he had been guilty of gossip were rumors against the state. We dont say how he died necessarily but in his age group pulling 004 , so it was extraordinary he did die from covid it was still extraordinary for him but i recount at the beginningop because it was so striking. The way they responded to it in china should send shivers up your spine. Thats how they are responding and i think one of us can kind of believe in the totalitarian government would respond but we think our government when we are a free world liberal democracy, we would certainly not react that way. What we discovered and ive idiscovered going through this s january 21 the conspiracy began in the flurry of emails between Anthony Fauci and others around the world and jeremy who is the sort of Anthony Fauci of england may be the biggest dispenser in all of europe. The emails have a hairy nature you know how you can read emails between people and get a sense that they are worried an also because they go on until three in the morning. They go on through midnight. They are emailing Anthony Fauci and saying we see this paper and its gaining function of research and it looks like wero funded it but it never went to the Safety Committee. Mysterious, never went through the committee. We were unsure how that could have ever happened. Hehes responding to his assistt saying there will be duties. Have your cell phone up. I will have duties for you in the morning. At three in the morning i didnt know who that was at the time in fact they didnt know for a year or two and then i met him. He was the head of the Safety Committee but just like government is and screws up so many things the Safety Committee secret, the name off the people that are supposed to review dangerous pandemics so we dont create a pandemic isco secret. The people are secret and so are the deliberations. I still have never seen their deliberations but oneli thing i know is only three grants were ever looked out and none of them were the grants in wuhan. It says this, heres an interesting article and it looks like it came from animals. All the evidence looks like it came from animals. Was this an accidental thing or something he just made a mistake and we didnt get it reviewed . No, it is a lifelong philosophy. Its more dangerous, lethal, contagious. This has been going on foror a decade. It started with a famous research of the avian flu in the netherlands in 2010. The avian flu if youve ever seen when they have the reports killing the millions of chickens and primarily china but other places its very contagious. Not very contagious to humans but when it affects humans it kills about 50 . Its a bad disease. Its adapted for chickens, birds, and its very transmissible. So the research in the netherlands said i wonder if we take the flu and give it some mutations if we could make it contagious throughgh the air and lo and behold he did that but people became alarmed like this could be a recipe to create something that could kill over 50 of the population and they debated over whether to publishh it because they thought it could be a roadmap for terrorism so the debate goes back and forth. On one side are the good guys and many of them you learn about in the book who are scientists and credentialed at many of the prestigious universities and get very worried about this. On the other side, Anthony Fauci and all of his colleagues that helped him in the coverup. And he actually says in 2012 that even if a scientist were to become infected, even if a pandemic were to occur from the gain of function research that the knowledge would be worthwhile. I would venture to say thee people who lost loved ones would probably disagree with him. So this is the way this begins. They are having conversations. The emails are going on in a frantic pace. The Anthony Fauci of england is having discussions with his wife who remembers 17 phone calls in one evening. Shes a scientist also and says to him maybe you should talk to your family. Maybe you should inform your family in case something happens. It never really intimates whos going to kill him or who might but he might be killed over this knowledge. Dont use your government email. Yet there was this idea we are just going to go outside of the boundaries to have these discussions. This began january 31, so theres a big phone call and in that phone call the results of that. We get an email from Anthony Fauci of the conversation that is a Group Texting mechanism. Yes, weve all looked at it. It is a fear site that allows them to enter into human cells this is just extraordinary. They are doing the gain of function research. Fast forward a year he comes before my committee under oath and its unequivocally never, ever funded the gain of function research. They change the definition of the gain of function and to the website the day before the hearing and changed theen definition. But even that isnt enough to weasel out of this. They have to be human viruses. Im what if you take two different ones and put them together and now they infect humans. You dont know this in advance. We do know that certain of the backbones of the viruses are combined and ten, 20 . There are some the labs are working onni such as ebola that have 50 mortality. He thinks this will happen again but he thinks next time itld cod be 5 or 50 . If youvee ever read about the black plague or the 14th century, its hard to imagine what happens when a third of people die and in those days that is laws of knowledge, loss of knowhow. If we had a third of the country or 50 of the world we are talking about starvation, lack of clean water,on constant and chronic fighting for whats left. Two months later we know he was working on a virus and with the doctors and they knew how to do this research to take act coronavirus to make it more infectious for humans we know they were doing this. Did our government find out any misinformation, absolutely not. Do you know how we know the Research Project because the whistleblower told us about it and said he looked for it in the file and surmised that it should have been in the file and it wasnt there. He looked again after id had an altercation and it was back in the file. He thinks they moved it initially and then back into a file. I dont know if hes talking about an oldfashioned file or computer file but he finds it. Why would he have told us . Why would peter have told us. They met with fauci in the first month the virus is beginning. He began testimony. Without a video, i love doing this as we look through the book we found in a scientific conference where he does a presentation. You ask about the response. At one point they are taking so much stuff, down they say we wt continue to be your sensor but we want to be paid for. They pay 3. 5 million for their work. I asked christopher about this this weekend he hasnt recalled. He says we pay them all the time. And they do which is another story we shouldnt be allowing either but there was a time when the left cared about this and more than the right. A time in the 1960s when the fbi went after Martin Luther king and protesters but the left was the defender. We need government to keep us safefe and now the tables have been turned. They tried to prevent them from meeting with media to suppress constitution and if they they rd it and said what if people say that its been changed to wednesday and you trick them into not voting shouldnt the government shut those people down that are lying about when the election is. Wouldnt they reveal if any of them came from pfizer or madera. Its like being on the local school board and saying we are going to vote for new textbooks for the company. Im not going to tell anybody. Surely. I started being indifferent to whether he was good or evil. I just wanted to ask questions and try to get to the bottom of things. But the more we found in the book and who was being deceptive and deceitful. I think there were hundreds of people involved in this and people say that is a Conspiracy Theory. They were involved but they were involved in this way and i think George Carlin put it the best. There could have been ten different projects funded and theirrer likely were. Why couldnt we find this stuff, why did they have a scientist so its involving people but they are not in the room rubbing their hands together. I wrote the book because in the end we have to do something to prevent this from happening again. Theres a group of 33 scientists and weve had some of them come in but they are for trying to make us safe. As much as im for freedom im not forer letting in rich urani. There are some rules and i thine those are reasonable and there ought to be some on dna synthesis and we ought to look into this and there are certain things maybe we shouldnt be funding stuff to create viruses that could take off and kill the population so these are things that can happen and im still hopeful they will. Im disappointed by people on the other side of the aisle not caring but i will tell you there has been a success in the sense when i first became involved in 2021, nobody believed it. Im not saying im the only one because there was a book that was great. Alex wrote a book. Theres a lot of good books out there but i think weve changed the tide of this. But no animal reservoir makes it kind of harvard and so all the evidence is pulling that way and the tide has shifted. The last part of it so we dont have to go through this again is to figure out how to have legislation so we can try not to be funding or supporting the research in our country. Theres 12 Different Research areas during this research so this could happen here. People say we are much safer. We probably are and we have the best of intentions but she said there has been a thousand leaks in the last decade. Thats many. So i think youve got to clean house from top to bottom. It wont happen unlessss we hava different president. But i think we have to clean house from top to bottom. Is he going to go to jail, probably no. But to me its more important we try not to have another pandemic like this one. If we get another not to lock us up or down. It didnt work. I think everybody here is smart enough and people across the country are smart enough to know if you mix two viruses together but its a little less deadly is that a gain of function i think most people would say it is so im not so worried about the definitions i think people are smart enough to figure it out. They didnt know each other but they met each other in my party and they found that they had uncovered the same research and they came to me and said youve been in the media for 50 years can you help us get this information out and if you go onto the website and type in covid19 it comes up with a strand. Copy that, go over to the Patent Office and placed it into the te Search Engine and its patented by motor and a. We look at this because there was a contract signed with the nih in december of 2019. Some people say that points words the very new virus and everything. I think what they were, and this isxp what they explain and i thk i accept their explanation on this is they are trying to develop a vaccine for the virus that represents a lot of different strains. They were trying to create this into they did have a contract erbut i dont think it was, i dont think theres any evidence that ive seen that electorally was. I dont think there was a sequence. That would be huge. Cii think they had a contract to make the vaccine and people then say look they already knew before. There were hundreds of viruses she never revealed. She also took down the website that used to list all the sequences. Theres also satellite pictures that show the hospitals full of cars unusually full of cars in november. Theres also cell phone data and some private company had at the cell phone data. You look at the institute and for the week in october theres no cell phone traffic. Only they can do that which is a little bit scary but if you had a leak we were cleaning the place out and all of a sudden there would be no cell phones. Others evidence pointing toward something happeningrk in the fal then you have the workers getting sick. I dont think they have the virus for things. Do i think they had promoted a without being honest about its side effects, yes, i dont think theyve been forthcoming. The president came and talked to me privately and admitted that they do get myocarditis from the vaccine and in the public they act as if this wasnt true and more kids were getting it from the disease than the vaccine which isnt true. So i do think that theyve been dishonest. You have people in the kennedys we dont know who they are and its even worse than that. When they approved the booster vaccine, the Fda Committee of scientists which are all pro vaccine, they are not people that hate vaccines and they are also fine with mandates most of them. Hethey voted to only give the booster to 65 and older. All built the same way. We are only going to give the booster to over 65. How did it get to six months it went to a political appointee who reversed both sides of the comedies so they are accused of you are antiscience. No, they ignored their own scientific communities. Paul who was on the kennedys and again an esteemed scientist from the hospital in philadelphia said he wouldnt give the vaccine to his 24yearold kid. The risks were less. The risk of covid almost zero chance as and 15,000 so still small but who wants to give your kids something that could cause a heart problem. Maybe one more. What have you learned from this . Youve been involved in the modern government. What do you conclude from this, not just the example, but the larger conclusions about how we should think about our government, the Administrative State and whats going onis arod it. Is this an outlier orti exceptin or something deeper . If this is just between me and you that there is a deep state, but i dont mean that in any kind of shadow way. This is with the leftwing media never get about this is a deep state. The deep state is just people that are selfinterested that are part of the bureaucratic part of government and theres just lotsgo of them. About the elective people come and go in the apparatus of government, the bureaucratic state of government is there and it really does have a self multicellular organism. It has a sort of life of its own and its to protect their turf basically. But their turf isnt the same as if you are an american citizen who wants to protect your liberty in the declaration of independence. Its different. D so we really need one of the proposals i have in the book is to take Anthony Faucis position and divide it into three not that i think all of a sudden we are going to get angels in the e elected government bureaucracies but dividing it divides the power and then i put the term limits on the office and make it vote. All those would be things to make it better. Its the same of anything any in washington with roots overseeing research or Dangerous Research or any power the more you divided, the better. The more you localize it, the better. The more checks and balances, the better because i believe strongly as madison said men and women are not angels we need as much regulation on the people and their power as we possibly can put in place.
