Well, hello, South Carolina. [laughter] its an honor to be here today in the region at the momentous time at the life of the nation. We are beginning a new chapter in American History. We gather today because after nearly 50 years of lost lives andhe broken hearts, 50 years of prior, hoping and prayer. Today long last, roe v wade has been sent to history where it belongs. [applause] and america has been good given a new beginning. Im honored to be here at the Florence Baptist temple here in South Carolina to talk about the opportunities and challenges that we as prolife americans have in post row america. Thank you all for coming out this evening. Im humbled by this turn out although i think you mostly came for the choir. [laughter] ive never had a director tell me that i needed to sing better. [laughter] no hope of that. [laughter] joined me in thanking the pastor and the wonderful worship team and the wonderful staff here at Florence Baptist temple. Thank you for standing for life all these years. [applause] i was grateful for the pastors introduction but the introduction i prefer is a little shorter. [laughter] im a christian, conservative and republican in that order, and itme is my great honor to be with you as such a momentous time in the life of the nation. [applause] we had a chance to spend time together and i so enjoyed that. My life is changing a lot since we were last together. We moved home to indiana and about 5 acres and a pond and i will get to the good part of no longer being Vice President s i get to drive my own car. [laughter] the bad part, i get to pay for my own gas. [laughter] i mowed my lawn these days. We bought a john deere 54inch, zero turn radius. [laughter] serious piece of equipment. Karen lets me use it every now and again. [laughter] and we learned the profound truths that may be only in america and that was you can be a congressman from your home state for 12 years, the governor of your home stayed for four and even Vice President of the United States of america were still great way to 25 minutes for a table at olive garden at 7 00 on a friday. [laughter] it happened. I sent a text to my daughter, charlotte, she simply replied back thats america, dad, with an american flag. [laughter] but i thank you all for coming out. I had to come first and foremost to say thank you. Thank you all for standing for life all these years. For 49 years you donated your time and treasury for life causes here in South Carolina. You let your voice be heard in the state that shapes the life of the nation. You volunteered at Pregnancy Resource Centers and came alongside women facing crisis pregnancies with love and compassion and healing. In every real sense and in no small measure because in South Carolina we had the leadership in washington, d. C. To earn this new beginning for life. I became an advocate for the sanctity of life five years after that fateful decision in 1973 that was the year on the hillside. In wilmore kentucky i made a personal decision to put my faith in jesus christ as my lord and savior. And when i opened his word, i read before i i formed you in the womb before i knew you. And life and death and i knew that cause must become my cause and ever since that day ive stood without apology for the sanctity of human life. During my years in congress im humbled to say that we offered legislation to defend the largest Abortion Provider in america is the governor of indiana we champion to the adoption reform. We reinstated the policy to ensure that american taxpayer dollars wouldnt be used to provide and promote abortion aroundof the world. We awarded millions and grants to prolife Pregnancy Resource Centersco around the country coming alongside women and crisis pregnancies. The pal stairmaster and that i had the great privilege being the first Vice President to address the march for life in washington, d. C. But may be the greatest honor that i had is president of the senate and i was there to cast the tiebreaking vote that allowed states across the country to defund plannednn parenthood. [applause] cabecause of your support here n South Carolina for our administration the most consequential actions took place. Women were appointed to the federal courts at every level including justice gorsuch, kavanaugh and Justice Amy Coney barrett. [applause] you made that possible through your support and prayers and they made possible that decision. A few short weeks ago that ended the judicial tyranny of roe v wade and gave us this dawn of life to america. As a result of the Supreme Courts decision today the country is closer than ever to living out the timeless created that all men are created equal and endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights interest among them is the right to life. Without a doubt the Supreme Court was right to overturn roe v wade. It was a moral, legal and constitutional travesty. Dont ever doubt it. The heartbreaking consequences of the decision cannot be overstated. Under row, more than 62 million unborn children in the United States were born. In other words nearly 20 of our population of the country is going. Lives withla incalculable promie ended before they were born and countless young women have experienced sorrow and regret that can last a lifetime. The decision not only on the nation but humanity. The scale is unprecedentedki in the history of mankind. Under Roe V Wade Moore were segregated into a class of secondclass citizens devoid of the most basic off human rights. Precious babies lived outside of the protection of the laws of the mercy of the culture that devalued them and an abortion industry that profited from their suffering. But those days are coming to an end. I believe with all my heart that withrow gone, we have an opportunity to become a more perfect union. But make no mistake about it as we gather tonight, we must recognize that we have only come to the end of the beginning. Standing here in the first days post roeamerica we must resolvee will not rest, we will not relent until the sanctity of life is restored to the center in every state in the nation. [applause] when the Supreme Court liberated america from roe v wade, they restored democracy. They returned the question of abortion. To the states and the American People where it belongs. So now we find ourselves at a turning point in American History at the dawn of post row america. New battlefields are emerging every day all across the land. So tonight i came out to celebrate the victory for life but also i came tonight to cast a vision for a post row america. Thell bible tells us without a vision that people perish, so i hope tonight you here in this state of such great consequences those things we must begin to do here and across america to restore the sanctity of life. The administration is advancing abortion on demand at home and abroad and to find a fast that t they thought was morally objectionable. But now the majorities in the congress have abandoned their commitment to the protections of the Hyde Amendment and even President Biden has abandoned his longterm support for the amendment and supports taxpayer funding of abortion all the way up to the moment of birth. So first, in post row america, we must send a deafening message to the leaders in washington, d. C. That we must save and defend the values of millions of prolife americans. [applause] also the administration has been busy when they are not legislating they are using the pen as the saying goes. And executive order standing access to abortion medications and even theres news today the Administration May issue an executive order to declare a Public Health emergency in the effort to overturn the decision. There is been efforts on the floor of the congress to qualify roe v wade into the law. In the midst of all of this, the calling remains the same, to restore the culture of life because as washington goes in theop opposite direction of the hearts and minds of the majority of the American People, we save the babies, we will save america. [applause] the cause is first and foremost a moral cause but must be a movement in every state in the country. The Supremee Court stated abortion policies to be set by lawmakers now not unelected judges. So its incumbent on all of us to be sure we have the leadership in the statehouses that reflect a commitment to life. So there are policies we can advance beyond the federal policiesna of funding and is the governor of indiana i was proud to sign a law banning elective abortion on the basis of a childs race or gender or disability, and it is time to end of this injustice in every state in america. [applause] we also need to end the dangers and the practice of Abortion Pill mills. The postal system must not become a conduit for ending innocent life and endangering pregnant women outside of the t reach of medical care. We must defend and protect women and unborn children from mailorder abortions. [applause] we also need to recognize if youre going to be prolife, you need to be provide option. We advanced adoption reforms when i was governor of the state of indiana but the reality of the costly and burdensome regulations for adoption in this country placed the creation of forever families out of the reach of many americans. It can be as much as 70,000 to a family. This is a moral and legal failing by the country. It shouldnt cost the average American Worker more than a years worth of wages to adopt a child. [applause] frankly its time we call on Corporate America to do their part. You all have seen the headlines of many corporations and offering benefits to employees to be able to travel out of state to seek an abortion but i must tell you ive been inspired. The last few weeks as companies are going the other way. A Company CalledPacific Hospitality group and a Technology Investment company got word that the blue cross in california was offered 2,000 to pay for people to travel to get an abortion so they announced even though insurance didnt cover they were going to pay 7,500 to t any employee to pay r adoption services. Thats leadership for life. [applause] and as the radical left continues to rage against the Supreme Courts decision in the case, tragically dozens of Pregnancy Resource Centers and prolife organizations have been vandalized and attacked her outd the country. There can be no tolerance for violence against prolife organizations especially those that are offeringee compassionae care to women in need. [applause] President Biden should create a task force to investigate arrest andin prosecute the leftwing radicals who are running this coordinated campaign of violence against Pregnancy Resource Centers. Now more than ever we should support the efforts of Pregnancy Resource Centers and make sure they have the resources and security to be there for women facing crisis pregnancies. [applause] in South Carolina you deserve to know it isnt just the radicals attacking Pregnancy Resource Centers. Elected members of congress have beens perpetrating rhetoric abot this Extraordinary Movement of compassion. As your Vice President i had the opportunity to visit the center and today i was deeply moved by the choice to make the Pregnancy Centers right here in florence thatat have seen 31 babies saved this year alone. [applause] a choice to make Pregnancy Centers does extraordinary work. In fact id like to ask some of the team from the choice to make the stand up on the front row. Let us show our appreciation. Two to 300 women in crisis pregnancies have walked through their doors and heard the gospel and message of hope. Thank you. [applause] but Many Democrats in washington are complaining that theres more crisis Pregnancy Centers in america than abortion clinics. And there are. Senator Elizabeth Warren actually accused the Pregnancy Resource Centers of torturing expectant mothers and shes proposed findingto organizations likema 100,000 shes demanded they be shut down nationwide. You couldnt be more wrong. Crisis Pregnancy Centers have been changing lives and changing hearts for decades in this country and they deserve our support today and every state in america. [applause] so to support leadership to be provided this is just the beginning of the conversation about post row america. The time in which we live and all of you have come here because you understand for such time as this our generation has reached this position. All that ive talked about we need to do the larger challenge of reforming the tax code and entitlement system to marriage penalties and incentivize work and make it easy is the next stgeneration. The truth is Strong Families make strong communities. Should pursue policies that strengthen families. Ro give people the opportunity to grow through natural birth or adoption. But the highest priority of the nation beyond the security of our people should be thstrengthening the families for this generation and the next. [applause] and traveling across the country is your Vice President and citizen the last year and a half, let me assure you the tide has turned in this nation. Many more are with us than them. Dont ever doubt it. Life is winning in america not just here in South Carolina but all across the country. At the dawn of post row america i want to urge you to stay the course. Continue to do all things that led us to this historic moment and be prepared to persevere. It may take as long to win this country for life as it took for us to overturn roe v wade. So we must not grow weary. Survival says in new time we will reap if we faint not. In this moment, the very beginning of post row america lets keep standing for life for that apology. Neighbors and friends and coworkers tell them where you stand. I do believe that its been the love and compassion of this movement in 49 years that moved the nation. So i urge each one of you to use youryo voice and your relationships to carry the cause for life. Second, keep giving care and love to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Pregnancy Resource Centers have been the front line of the battle for hearts and minds and as South Carolina and states across the country take up the prolife legislation let us tell our elected officials as you move the law forward to protect the unborn let us also redouble ouren commitments to provide cae and support to expectant mothers to newborns and young families. [applause] we will win americali for life, with principal and compassion. And i urge you to call on our leaders to lead just that way. Continue to do your part to elect prolife leaders and for those of us that cherish the sanctity of life its now never been more important who represents you at theat statehoe so let me make a personal request please reelect Governor Henry Mcmaster for four more years in the state. [applause] please send send the senator back to the majority in the United States senate. [applause] and of the new republican majority in the house of representatives. [applause] do your part to elect prolife leaders at every level. Doea what South Carolina has always done. Keep pleading for life. And above all, in these days and post row america i urge all of you gather here avail yourself of that wellspring of strength that carried us to this day. Proverbs 24, we are admonished. Rescue those being led away. Hold back those staggering. If you say that we knew nothing about this its not those that perceivedo it, does not he that guard your life know it will he not repay everyone according to what they have done . And so i want to challenge you, fellow believers in every form of prayer and petition with thanksgiving present your requests to god. Pray for the leaders in both political parties. Pray that their hearts would be softened and they would lead for life. Pray for the mothers facing crisis pregnancies, for the fathers but their hearts would be returned to their children. Enpray for the unborn children that in these days of promise that they will join the chorus of millions and pray for our opponents their hearts would soften and their minds would open to the unimaginable beauty that is life. We can never bring back those more than 62 million american lives lost. We mourn with those that mourn and grieve with those that grieve. And through these days Going Forward we recognize an equal number of broken hearts so as we move forward to reform the laws and support the leaders and families and women in crisis pregnancy in this moment let us do our part to bring the message of redemption and grace to those who werere caught up in abortion these last 49 years. Lets love them both. [applause] its an honor to be with all of you today. Asro we see a new generation ofa rise in postwar america. Post row america. Those that have been involved in this because from the beginning and labored and prayed understand the role that youve played bringing in new beginning for life across america. So men and women of the Florence Baptist temple, we have work to do. Weve come to a new beginning for life, but its just the beginning. But i have every confidence with your compassion, your leadership, with your faith we will seize this moment in history, and though i do not know if i will be here to see it, i believe with all my heart the day will come when the right to life is the law of the land in every state in this country and this generation will lead us to a prolife america. So help us god. [applause] thank you all. God bless you and god bless america. [applause] the president says he is experiencing mild symptoms and credited his health to being double vaccinated and boosting. At the white house secretaries stressed the administration is committed to transparency and keeping the public uptodate o
