I hope you are enjoying your lunch or Chris Christie as we turn it. We come to the Reagan Ranch Center. I can the privilege of serving as director of the reagan ranch and Merry Christmas. I will go ahead and say it. [applause] great to have you with us during this holiday season. Holiday is not a bad word, used in the same context as christmas. I would like as you are enjoying your food already Begin Program pretty quickly with the invocation of followed by the pledge of allegiance but just as we have been told there is no longer appropriate to say Merry Christmas we have been culturally conditioned, many of us to feel uncomfortable with both of these rituals, prayer and the pledge. We are told there is no longer a place for faith or even patriotism and a public setting. We saw that overcapacity days with the bizarre but not entirely surprising leftist backlash against the very act of prayer in the wake of the terrorist attack in san bernardino. Lets recall not too long ago, as few need reminding we had a president who was not only a man of great faith himself a president whose leadership was unapologetically founded on these principles. We are heading into the Christmas Season but as we just celebrated thanksgiving lets reflect on Ronald Reagans words from thanksgiving day in 1986. Perhaps no custom reveals our character as the nation so clearly as our celebration of thanksgiving day, Ronald Reagan said. Rooted deeply in our judeochristian heritage the practice of offering thanksgiving underscore our unshakeable belief in god as the foundation of our nation and our Firm Reliance on him from whom all blessings flow both as individuals and as people we join in song and prius, give thanks unto the lord for he is good. One of the most inspiring portrayals in American History is that of George Washington on his knees in the snow at valley forge. That moving image personifies and testifies to our founders dependence on Divine Providence during the darkest hours of our revolutionary struggle. It was then when our mettle as a nation was tested most severely that the sovereign and judge of nations heard our plea and came to our assistance in the form of aid from france. General washington immediately called for a special day of thanksgiving among his troops. 11 years later president washington at the request of Congress First proclaimed nov. 261789 as thanksgiving day. In his thanksgiving day proclamation president washington and exhorted the people of the United States to observe a day of thanksgiving and prayer. Washington reminded us that it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the province of almighty god to obey his will, be grateful for his benefits and humbly to him for his protection and favor. Today and let us take heart from the noble example of our first president , let us pause from our many activities to give thanks to almighty god for our bountiful harvest and abundant freedoms. Let us call on him for continued guidance and assistance for our endeavors and let as ever be mindful of the faith and spiritual values that have made our nation great and keep us great. Isnt it remarkable a president once spoke to was in that way. It is in the same spirit of the like to invite mckenzie martinas to lead us in invocation and the pledge. You can make your way to the front. Brandon is a graduate of Westmont College where he majored in Political Science and history and led the efforts to bring conservative voices to westmont. Is a former intern at the Reagan Ranch Center who is now continuing his commitment to conservative ideas by working for the Orange County gop and i believe headed to loss cool in the fall. Mackenzie martinez is a senior at Carpenter High School and planning to start her College Career at Santa Barbara city college where she majored in business, she was first introduced to the Americans Foundation by helping Catering Events just like this one and after serving many meals here at the center she has begun attending programs as a student debt become a passionate defender of freedom at Carpenter High School where she is also an all american shia leader. Brandon will lead us in prayer and the media be followed by mackenzie who will lead us in the pledge of allegiance. Lets pray. Thank you for this day, thank you that even in an age of darkness where christians are under attack in the middle east and at home we can still live in a country where we are filled with the gospel, our very roots saturated with the gospel truth have our rights come from god and no other, we can now proceed in challenging time is by looking to you a seeking your guidance and wisdom as we move forward. Please continue to give us strength and wisdom as we confront difficulties before us, protect us and help us protect our religious liberties as we move forward. We pray also for sarah palins speech, made her words fill us with strength, wisdom and give us the guidance we need to to keep confronting the difficult times ahead of us. We offer this and our country to you, amen. Please stand. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of america and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under god, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. We are blessed to conclude our 2015 series of the events at the Reagan Ranch Center with two phenomenal leaders in our cause. We will here momentarily from our friend sarah palin making her first return to the Reagan Ranch Center since she helps us remember and celebrate the 100th anniversary of Ronald Reagans birth and were thrilled to welcome her back to Santa Barbara. The governor will be joined on stage by Kate Obenshain, a leader in our cause who worked and serve in every capacity imaginable with student activists, members of staff to member of board of directors and later this evening we will hear from a stalwart of the conservative movement in the house of representatives, congressman matt salmon representing arizonas this district and Founding Member of the House Freedom caucus, he and his wife nancy are with us for lunch as well and are for the road to have both of you today as we welcome. [applause] finally i would like to recognize and welcome our good friend secret service agent, member of the board of governors, good to have you with us. Now to introduce our speakers welcome back to the podium another face you may have missed over the past few months carolina is a Development Officer at the Reagan Ranch Center and just returned from Maternity Leave and if you know anything about caroline corazzas background you will not be shocked to learn her new baby girl is named virginia. Please welcome caroline corazza. [applause] thank you, great to be back. It is an honor to introduce two speakers at this afternoon because not long ago as a conservative at the university of virginia i found great role models and inspiration from governor sarah palin. It is a delight to have these defenders of freedom. I introduce our moderator, Kate Obenshain the dedicated her life to feel this conservative activism beginning as an activist at the university of virginia who served in various leadership roles at the foundation at the time and is one of our most popular speakers to go out on campus and challenge the liberal agenda been taught to our students. Proud virginia case has been active for many years serving as adviser to governor george allen and later as first woman chairman of the virginia gop and kate is a product of race in regular news outlets like fox news, she is conservative radio shows, 2012 offered a book lauding grace by many conservative leaders, and she is proud mother of children who motivate her work to protect freedom and liberty. And i would like to tell you about sarah palin. She became a household name in 2008 when she was Republican Party nominee for Vice President along with john mccain. Sarah palin, a devout christian, faithful wife and mother of five and committed conservative and live in the campaign and excited the american people. Commonsense conservatism, a principled leadership and founding principles later a favorite for americans across the country. Governor palin is a proud alaskan it had a full career serving people of alaska, was elected to City Council Land became chairman of the alaska oil and Gas Conservation Commission and in 2006 became the understand first woman to be elected governor of alaska. In that time she championed the alaskan people shrinking the size of government helping to empower individuals, took on the republican establishment making her a popular governor and even called by some the most popular governor in america. Following the 2008 election governor palin became a soughtafter commentator and voice for conservatives, formed sarah pack and troubled country campaigning on behalf of candidates who stood for the right things and promoted limited government, individual freedom, Strong National defense and traditional values, posted a great show called sarah palin and alaska introducing lower 48 to the wonders of the state. In 2009 and governor palin of the going rogue, and american life, more of private and political life which became a best seller and in 2010 released her next book america by heart containing excerpts from her favorite speeches, today we are excited for her to share her newest book sweet freedom a devotional which is a collection of meditations based on biblical verses which provide inspiration encouragement. Governor palin is an accomplished and admirable leader but more importantly as a beautiful family including her husband todd, hurt five children and sleet grandsons. We are on it and governor palin at the Reagan Ranch Center. [applause] thank you. Hi again. Hi again. Right here. Hello. This is such a frill. A lot of you were here in 2011 when governor palin came and helped us with that incredible celebration of president Ronald Reagans 100th birth day. We will highlight all of us here at Young America foundation, thank you and i just know that Ronald Reagan himself, his face was so deep, such but huge part of who he was and what he accomplished he would be thrilled to know you are kicking off the sweet freedom for a and you are here to share with us this incredible book. So many people when they looked at you from a fight they think of your great strength. It just shines through and i think you never back down no matter what. Like the marines you run towards the danger. That is what this woman does. Abiding courage and i was hoping you would talk about where that strength, peace and radiant joy comes from and you do. Probably the main theme of the book and in it you said god can take every dark arrow, all the mocking and negative words and every struggle and could fall pushing you to the edge. Every battle you never asked for but are forced to fight in his strength we become victorious. You never asked to become a National Political hero really and yet that is what you became a you have this gift from god to connect with the american people, to inspire, totally reagan mask and extremely rare. How did god give you the courage to embrace those gifts instead of doing what sadly a lot of us would have done which is run in the direction . Thank you so much for that encouragement. That means so much and in 2011 it was wonderful to be here. I will never forget it. One of the highlights of my career was being able to be here, that sense of spirit of Ronald Reagan being here because the my political hero my entire life and in fact i was blessed to have come into being politically speaking in my College Years, high school and College Years when president reagan was in the white house so i got to see how it is supposed to be done. And be so encouraged by the real hope that he inspired in our nation and truly making america a great so i benefited from that. Personally i know i am so fallible. I have so much weakness which i make mistakes all the time, but the secret is in my weakness i know that i can have strength that is omnipotent because comes from god and god invites us to ask for it and he will fill us up then. When i was a little girl i became a christian at summer bible camp in the wilderness of alaska and i remember looking around at the beautiful landscape, majestic mountains, clean water, so gorgeous and i in new then that the creator of all that, the creator who was so omnipotent that this could be a part of my life, my surroundings. I might be welloff if i put my life in his hand, instead of the cracked vessel that we all are, use me if you can, lord. Putting my life in his hands. Peaks and valleys, quite a rollercoaster ride, it is okay to have weaknesses, to have that fallibility and to admit to them and ask god to use them any way, somehow turns them into something that can help other people. That is what i encourage other people to do. Give it a shot. I dont know where this humility, you have such humility and i have to say i was in the green room once, not just talking about what happened in the green room but we were at fox news and there was this terror that sarah palin was coming in and i happened to be sitting with one of the few liberals who works at fox, i was a liberal host and i heard the things he said about governor palin, palin was coming in it he was knocking people over to get close to her because she has that ability to just people want to be near you. You inspire people and you stay humble. How do you stay humble . Who knows what the liberal wanted to actually do to me when he reached me. They love you. You can go from hero to zero like that because ironically on a logger work at fox after having been there and having a great time and i respect the network and appreciate a conservative message they are able to get out there for the rest of the public, but times change and i am not there anymore but any kind of humbled as much, goodness, my real world is, you saw a little page of my life, 0. 0001 of my life. My real life is very busy, family, kids who dont care what i am doing politically. They really dont. They thought it was cool but i was on saturday night live and that is about it. Thankfully my kids are shark and they are conservative and very independent. That spilled over onto them. The family keeps you grounded especially my youngest who is the one who has a gift god gave our family, keeps everything in perspective for us and lets us put our priorities straight, i thank god every day for the gift of trade. The hero from hero to zero i love. No matter in politics if you believe in anything whatsoever you are going to go from here to zero at some point in time and what i was struck by during the president ial campaign has been the vigor with which you have been attacked and i attribute that to the fact you are a strong conservative woman and you present a huge threat to the why is that holy leftists can support women and so when sarah palin is out there championing women, hardworking women, single moms that is the huge red and they come after you with laser like precision attacking your family which all of a sudden is fair game for you and nobody else, but that is an incredible discouragement for other women particularly conservative women, women of faith who want to become engaged in the political process. When they seem like you went through and necessarily go through, it is a given if we conservative women put ourselves out there we are going to be attacked and yet you say we have a responsibility as americans, we are the heirs of freedom which i love. It is not a choice whether or not women, conservative women, women of faith getting of how you encourage anyone to get involved in the political process but win in part together . Have to encourage anyone to get in there. You are in the belly of the beast. I have to admit it does get free brutal at times, there is a stronghold in the world of politics, dark, it is not of god, the bad part of politics, again, my own strength, my own wisdom, my own abilities, i cant handle it so i have to give it up to god and thankfully time and time again he fills me up with peace and joy because i asked for it and i received it so i encourage others to do the same but now more than ever is when you all, Everybody Needs to get involved. Today we are fighting for the future of america. This is the moment and you need to be called upon to be great at this time and to be bold. If we lose our freedom than like reagan said there is no where else to go, nowhere else to turn. We have that beacon of freedom for the rest of the worlds. If we dont fight for it because freedom isnt free, if we dont fight for and pay a price for it then there is nowhere else to go and it is not just americans hoping for the best, all of you hoping for the best for this country but innocent people around the globe who do look to america to americans who are hardworking, patriotic, faith filled, family oriented, good americans they wished to emulate, as they wish to understand the steps we can take to be prosperous and successful and safe and secure, god bless us with resources and abilities to do all of that but he also gave us a responsibility to if we are hunkering down and afraid of what somebody will say about us than we are not doing our job and by the way those are not just words. I remind my kids all the time, so what if somebody said something mean, dont read the blog. Then you dont have to be burdened by it. We are told in the bible that we will be persecuted so backup or stay in the truck. We know what is coming. And we just have to deal with it. [applause] host sweet freedom a devotional you read the numbers will say sarah palin in the Ronald Reagan multiple times, freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction again and again. Tell us of little bit about Ronald Reagan and his importance, you mentioned a little bit in the beginning, how much your experience at the ranch, we knew you rent out there, how has that impacted you . That is life changing. Having always been a huge fan of Ronald Reagan, he got to hang out, he wasnt phony about being out there working hard and doing all those things we would see images of him on tv doing and action will be to be where he was actually doing at being on the horse trails where there was overgrowth or something, he used to be out there cutting that overgrowth, not federal laws the real folks, just amazing in the a squeak of reagans ranch is appreciated by other americans, putting efforts into it is amazing, so impacting, so beautiful being up there that i was privileged to be on a worse ride. Someone snapped a picture and we use the picture on the cover of my book america by heart because it is my favorite picture in the world and not because of me in it but because it reflects Ronald Reagan, his life. What he stood for. So all americana, so beautiful, all about natural resources, the work ethic that he would just big dude. Those attributes, averages, gifts and talents, he did put those to such good use for all of us. What he left as we better not blow it. We had better protect what it is but builds upon what it is he left us. He left as all these good examples of what it takes to succeed and prosper and be happy and i if think the same goes for those who serve in the military and our thats who reagan so respected and honored as a true commanderinchief, i think of all the sacrifices he as commander in chief and those under him in the military and those who have gone before and those serving today, sacrifices they have made we need to be called upon to protect what it is that they have left us and not let their sacrifices go in vain. With the military, president reagan, hopefully we can always use reagan as our inspiration for that and as a personal note reagan means a lot in my life, my kids life, willow has a dog named Ronald Wilson reagan. I was so proud of her. How many young galsshe gets it. Name your puppy Ronald Wilson reagan. Ronald reagan understood, we at the reagan ranch understand, all of you understand the importance of our College Campus and what is happening there right now and reagan made a point to reach out to College Students. I was struck when i read this passage in your book sweet freedom a devotional when you said conservatives are accustomed to liberals speaking to control the conversation. When the liberal argument cannot withstand debate they tried to silence offensive speech, an attempt to make you exchange your freedom of speech for your comfort. This is exactly what we are seeing explode, it has been happening for decades but exploding on our College Campuses, and the overflow room, watching live stream, watching on cspan, tell us how can we help inspire these young people because they face real consequences on campus for standing up for what they believe in, since the addition to sensitivity training classes, suffer in their grades, get persecuted by administrators. There are real consequences and yet we are treating them to have the courage to standup for freedom. You are the best example of having that encouragement. Please encourage these young people how god can give them courage. He is our courage, he is our strength. The holy spirit fills up with that. All we have to do is ask and he will fill our cups to overflowing but you know better than anyone else because you are out there speaking on these campuses, you are on the front lines, seeing what is going on. I think it is tragic what is going on on our campuses today and if any of you are parents of kids soon to enter college, speak very wisely before you write a check for tuition to these schools especially who are being known for now more than ever there in tolerance is what it is. They do not tolerate conservative views and fate take it out on the student who would be bold enough to stand strong on truth, time tested truth. I hear so often in that vein about parents who are writing checks for their kids at first i say why are parents having to pay for their kids what about us who took five years to get a four you degree but that is because you work full time to take doesnt that happen anymore . Not to change the subject but now we are hearing colleges need a bailout. They need government, they need you to pay for the debt that they have incurred to go to school. That is just be s and that is the last thing a College Student needs to hear somebody will bailout. I had some lowly jobs but i was able to graduate with zeroand happy for and all my siblings did the same. The college kids are my inspiration, young people are my inspiration. I see there is hope that they are hope that the courage that they already have, their willingness, the kids i say with all respect, the Younger Generation even being here today really gives us hope because in these tumultuous times, the worried world, things are going on and the lot of people, i meet these people every day, i hear people every day say they are losing hope hand has americas trade so far from our judeochristian beliefs and our foundation can we ever get it back and the dishonesty that i hear and i sense out there i say no, look at the young people, those who are still willing to enlist in the United States military who can make the sacrifices force in the military, those who can stand strong on midst this liberal atmosphere that is very very aggressive on our College Campuses, look to them for inspiration for hope, dont let it down, you got to be even stronger. It is a shame that pop culture would try to characterized a conservative College Student as being one that is in tolerance and not smart enough to know what is going on in the world because they are not following in somebodys liberal footsteps. We can influence pop culture too to change that. We cant give up on pop culture because politics is downstream from pop culture. We need to not just leave it to the left to be in charge, dictating what our pop culture is about. For you who are talented in the arts, writers, actors, musicians, get in there, use those gifts that god has given you for good. Dont just leave it to the left, to the liberals to take over a cat most influential aspect of our society, pop culture and pop culture is instrumental in shaping of a College Students mind. I will shift gears a little bit. We have a president who cannot under the words radical islam. As a result i think he is endangering our country, and the injuring human beings by not calling it what it is and you talk about it in sweet freedom a devotional on several occasions and isil appreciate your courage in doing that. How do we christians articulate the very real threat of radical islam . We must articulate and how do we do that and not play into the liberal narrative that we are closed minded, in tolerance the we are targeting certain groups of people . When we are slapped with the label of being warmongers or racist or islam phobic you feel that label of your forehead, they want to stick you with please dont let them define you ended is perplexing that we do have a president , commander in chief who cannot recognize the enemy, who thinks changing the weather is more important than what we are facing with terrorism, radical islamic fundamentalists. He is so underestimating the wisdom of the people, the majority of americans we dont have a problem seeing what is out there and understanding such a threat that is coming our way, like george bush was so right when president bush said we are going to get the bad guys over there so they dont come over here. Look what is happening. We pull out of revers, leftys vacuums filled with more powerful islamic fundamentalists and they are coming over here. 2016 cant come soon enough. That is how we should look at this election. Not just someone who contend over economy which is another story. And not just someone who will deal with so many specific issues challenging america but look at it as who is going to be our commander in chief, who understands what it is we are facing, who can actually respect the United States military, let them do their job. We can utterly and forever destroy isis. We have the manpower, the firepower, we have the will, the boots that are ready to go and do, we need the political will from on top and until we get a commander in chief, by the way we are hearing now that obama would rather not have. On the ground and other parts of the world to deal with these, now. On the grounds, a pretty scary thing because under it this commanderinchief, i have a son who has served an been deployed a couple times, can we came in, can we in to we have a new commander in chief . And we finally destroy isis instead of letting them come on over here, infiltrate the innocence that is america. We havent done anything wrong to deserve what it is they want to do to us, paris didnt do anything wrong in asking them to come on over and try to destroy them evenly israel does nothing wrong when they are hearing any way that isis, the muslim fundamentalists when to destroy them too. That is why i consider as relatively speaking as the innocent. We have the ability to destroy the threat that is against us. We just need a commanderinchief who knows how to yell fire. [applause] host in sweet freedom a devotional you dont lenny punches when it comes to talking to christians. Youve point out we cant be hypocrites. You talk about some of the silliness of rigidity and legalism and that sort of thing. You will need to point out that if you and me, those of us across the country who love liberty, we need to be a little bit more enthusiastic about that. We just heard the shootings that happened in california this week, there were neighbors who saw comings and goings and were alarmed by it but they were silent because they were afraid not of what would happen, the consequences of what was going on but afraid they would be called names and i would think so often, wellintentioned christians hide from the news, they dont share with their children what is going on in the world, try to protect them. They are afraid of being called names and yet you say and sweet freedom a devotional that again we are heirs of freedom, our forefathers sacrifice for us and we have a responsibility to stand up for that sacrifice and you put it beautifully when you said rise up, no more hunkering down, shirking civic responsibilities by being so concerned with the kingdom of heaven that you neglect your duties down here on earth. That is so true. What will the devastating consequences to freedom be if freedom loving americans continued to shirk their responsibility. There will note freedom on earth. As i said as reagan would say and he did say the beacon of hope that is america, the light for the rest of the worlds we didnt do it ourselves. Is in service to our lord that we defend the gift of freedom. Thank you for the compliment, there are some things i did not write so beautifully when i caught pastors and i say quit being so chicken. This is another type of sermon is kind of a trying to get along to go along when the people are crazy, truth and some from the pulpit especially they have got the freedom to speak truth, certainly government liberals would like to shut down their freedom too on these attacks on our religion, but they are free to tell us the truth and have a responsibility as shepherds to tell us the truth, so quit being so milk about it. Part of the problem, and trying to go along and get along, calling it like you see it and the bird tells us, do you ever find it a lot that the depictions of jesus that we see, long beautiful flowing hair, robes and flipflops and claim on the beach with the disciples maybe they believe that is the persona of jesus, to the christ like, we are supposed to jesus was a warrior. He was a fighter for justice. Even physically he went into the temple, overturned the moneychangers because they were ripping people off. Hes stood for justice, he told his disciples, i think jesus was a proponent of open kerri because he told his disciples, luke 22 36 we are going on a journey, pick up your arms, back in the day the arms would be ace award. If you have a quote, sell your cloak and gown out and buy your sword and lets go. Lets go forth and concord and defended yourself, dont rely on others to do it. We rely on government to do it for us but we are to be selfsufficient in that respect, not so selfsufficient we wouldnt rely on gods strength but we are expected to take action to defend freedom and to defend, fight for justice and defend the innocent. God has given as the ability to do so, and he doesnt drive parked cars, he expects as to take action and move forward with those things he fills us with hands there is much that we can do to be involved and not think we have to hunker down and allow pastors to get away with that preaching, what you can tell your pastor is we got your back. I tried to tell that to the republicans in congress, dont campaign one way and govern another way. We seem too Many Tea Party friends kind of go that route, said disappointing. When i talk to them, trust me, you have our respect, we will have your back, the more you strength in your response in the more we all can strengthen our spine and follow you and just to be able to encourage them, encourage our leaders in the church since now more than ever, speak truth and act on it. Host devotional, sweet freedom a devotional is a devotional as every day you read and have a bible verse and then you have a call to action, freedom call to action. I got that it is not just, your point is restoration of america of all that is good and sweet and true and right. And personal transformation. And filling out faith and acting what we believe. And why is it important, if we do with devotional everyday. What is the connection between the personal transformation and what happens in our world . The lord says hide the word in our heart and never depart, and we will always call on the wisdom that is so prevalent, and wrote the book in laymans terms, so much so that even i can understand what it is. Ip kafirs, right a little commentary about it and much of the commentary end ed up being much admittance to a lot of things i havent done right so hopefully people to learn from my mistakes. Never set myself up as holier than thou, that is my pet peeve about christians when it come across as holier than thou because we are all in the same boat but the devotion with commentary and as you point at that call to action, writing it for not just church folks but my own family is very diverse. I write a page in here about that. My surroundings and alaska. With commercial fishermen everyday cussing like sailors and soldiers have no patience for Political Correctness and Truck Drivers and hard hearts and hard working normal people out there, some of them, they are ceos, church on christmas and easter only ceos, bless their hearts, they have the right intentions and they do have faith, they just want to know where can they go to get some answers . The things were doing right now to address the challenges the we see in our country and even personally because we are all fighting a battle, we all have huge challenges, to not lose that hope and faith they want to know what can we do becausehat were doing isnt working right now relying on government and the next great politician and public policy, the next trend in pop culture, none of that working for us, the trajectory the we are on is not going up. Is going down. How do we restore and how do we turn things around . It is amazingly in the old and new testament, specific answers of what it is we face today is all written in there. I want to create a guideline to let people know if you dont like it, taken up with god. He is the one who wrote the verse, he is the one who inspired the written word. I just comment about it according to my own life experience. It is written in that way so anybody should be able to understand and take from it. Another secret is as you open it and you have to ask for god to open your eyes and years at hard and so and mind to what it is he will tell you to apply based on what is you read and and he will right then that day something will pop up where you are like oh man, glad i have that promise, that verse for that terrible look for example, glad i have an answer, it came from his word. Host i found it incredibly inspiring. It is real just like you. It is real land that is one of the best parts about it. I could ask 100 more questions and monopolize this entire event that andrus as i can so i would like to ask for questions from the audience and we will have some folks up here with microphones so raise your hand and we will get some questions. Tell us where you are from and what we went to. Lazy gonzalez at Santa Barbara and i was wondering a lot of times on campus we face this moral relativism and we are called how would you combat this bias and how do we do that gracefully . There is power in numbers and you dont forget the fact that there are more of us than there are of them. Not necessarily hard court went to Church Sunday morning, wednesday night a news service christians, talking about people with common sense and those who do there are more of us than there are of them. Just capitalizing on the power, strength in numbers, you can always rely on that but the most important thing is to be bold, you have to be bold. Think of the situations you find yourself in, the surrounding this at school, you know they are wrong and you know you will be slapped with the negative label and you call them out and being wrong but if you dont do it who will . As we talked a little bit before, if you shy away, if you hunkered down you have to ask yourself if i dont stand strong and speak truth and know what i am talking about, you have to do your homework, you have to understand what the issues are so you can combat that with facts and figures. If you dont do with it is not going to get done. Encourage one another. Dont forget there is power and strength in numbers. We got the numbers on our side. I am not a student but i am a boilermaker. My question is your focus was on commander in chief. Which one of the candidates would you play to . My person will be keeping the political lancers theres a lot of time and there really is a lot of time, many debates coming got for us to be able to figure out what the intention is of each of these candidates and what their track record proves they are able to accomplish. My candidate will be someone who hasnt been part of the problem and hasnt promised us a whole lot of things in campaigns and had us, you, a lot of us working hard to get him elected and then have that deflated when they get into office and started voting for the debt ceiling increases and gorged budgets all because that is what our leadership in our party was telling us we had to do, or things get shed down. I am not looking for that. We tried that. That status quo has got to go. That cause the problem. Mike gentine date will be an e running. I consider as outsiders. Despite having a label, named tag, office in washington d. C. They are still maverick enough that they are bucking the tide even within their own party so i am ratcheting it down to a few but it will be somebody who will hold no punches in a debate against other because it will be a the rihanna decide. It is orchestrated. It will be hillary. Whoever it is, the fighter on stage in debate against hillary and not care that they are going to have sexists labels slapped on them. Whoever can say i dont care. I know the truth. And whoever it will end up being has got to be the person, obama promises he would fundamentally transform america. It will be the person who will know how to fundamentally restore america. Those virtues. [applause] my name is he lisa smith and i go to know the desk the college and i was recently at a speech debate tournament and i was told by a professor that was judging in this round that i was in that i needed to watch my rhetoric and i was both a racist and a proponent of race culture which was odd because he was in his early 30s. A man telling me this. I just wonder, what would you say to a conservative christian woman, how would you respond to such comments like that . Imagine if there refers, if it were if it were a conservative professor telling a liberal you sound whenever. Of the shock. I didnt say anything. I would be shocked too so that is why i dont know how to answer you. It is shocking. You could always say that you are really sorry you have to write his salary check with your tuition. Keep doing what you doing, he has no right to do that to you as a young woman. He has no right to do that. Granted we have our military men and women sacrificing their life so he does have the right to do so but what a disrespectful thing that man put you through. For shame. Stay strong. Look at you. You are still happy. That is inspiration. We can take one final question. Thanks for coming. I am a professor at Santa Barbara city college, one of six conservatives on campus. My question is as a woman who ran for public office, what advice would you give to Carly Fiorina . I have been waiting for her to bust out and be so candid and not canned or anything and tell us what she is thinking about a lot of these issues and that hasnt really happened yet so for what it is worth my advice, i would encourage her to not let any highpriced consultants who tried to run your campaign mold and mildew you into something that is politically correct, middle of the road on some issues, we want that candid this, tell us what you really think. I have gone through the same thing after having heres run local office, state office and on a National Level, before running on a National Level, i have to run my own campaign, literally in my own living room licking stamps, knocking on doors so i never had anybody tell me what i should or shouldnt say and that was sweet freedom and i won all those raises. And low and behold on the National Level we didnt win that one. When someone tried to tell me and ice what to do and what to say and trying to judge an audience and you got to shake your message so is received by that audience, that did a lot, didnt it . Came in second out of two. With all of them. That is why donald trump is so popular. Not only because he does have practical solutions, pretty practical to say you build a wall, a fence, that keeps the illegal immigrants, all these common sense things, what shot him to the forefront was his candid this. That should inspire the other candidates, hopefully it does, to be even less guarded, not let a filter come between you and the people, willing and wanting to serve, trump has been a good example with that and hopefully Carly Fiorina will do the same. I want to say thank you on behalf of the foundation. A conservative woman, you conservative young people those are out there trying to fight the fight. This is incredibly inspiring for me and as a nation, our president ial candidates, is an important book for our country, we are at a turning point and either we are going to dig deep and have the courage to stand up and accept the title of errors of freedom or we are going to hand freedom away and that is what this book is all about. God bless you for writing and thank you for being here. I appreciate that so much, thank you. You are awesome. Thank you. Bless you, so nice. Thank you, guys. Thank you. [applause] the standing ovation is more than appropriate unless you take your seats again for just a moment longer. Did our friends in the overflow room enjoy the program . I thought so. I want to thank you both for being here. It is awkward to stand behind you here but i need a microphone. Since you mentioned the book cover i say that is one of my few claims to fame, of course beating the ride at the ranch, i was on horseback behind you. My Left Shoulder made the cover of the book. I am sorry we crossed that out. I was happy my Left Shoulder made it. My Left Shoulder is available for autographs. It is an honor to have you on this wonderful book for your willingness to share your faith and your heart with us and the country and thank you both for being with us today. Really privileged to have you with us. [applause] as i mentioned earlier we will be concluding our reagan ranch roundtable sees this evening with a special dinner featuring congressman salmon will discuss Foreign Policy challenges in the 21st century.
