In addition, the initiative offered in a number of bestsellers both politically and with christianity. Must recent book is called healing america, what my experience with criminal gang taught me about obama, hillary, and the democratic party. This book is a result of his adventures with the Obama Administration, leading to a fourth assignment out of which he got new insight about american politics. Here today to tell us about those experiences, ladies and gentlemen please help me welcome a great american, mr. Dennis we was a. Thank you very much christie and thank you for the park City Republican Club for inviting me to speak to you today. I was 17 years old when i first america. I came to this country as an Exchange Student from india and i still remember the plane landing at the jfk airport, i looked out of the window and i saw the skyline of new york city, i saw the statue of liberty. A very strange feeling came over me. I knew from that moment that i had moved from the margin of the world to the center. I knew that my life from that moment on would somehow be, in in ways i could not anticipate, completely different. I remember that feeling of coming to america and the special meaning that america had for me as a kid and also that america has had in the world. That drives my politics. Now, fastforward or one quarter of a century and i found myself, last year standing in a new york court room in which a very sullen prosecutor and a pompous plaintiff said in my voice, the United States of america, versus dennis desousa. I have to tell you as a chill that went down my spine. That my adopted country had applied its full force, the fbi, the prosecutor apparatus of the justice department, against me. I now completed eight months of captivity, over night incarceration in a Community Confinement center of the southern part of southern california. Initially intimidating, but at the end of the day quite educational and even liberating experience. At the beginning, it was not what i expected. I shut up the first day to go into this confinement and i had gone to a show and expects to reagan my great relief that the Obama Administration efforts to send me to federal prison for up to two years had failed. I thought instead the clinton judge gave me this confinement instead of prison. So i was jubilant. I had kind kind of beaten the prison rap. But, when i checked into confinement the guards said to me will you would have been better off in federal prison. And i said why is that . He said because its a white prison, you would have nonviolent offenders, you would be running into business executives, mayors, doctors who defrauded medicare. You could play you could play chess. They have an activities director. And i said well, what about here he said zero no, this is a whole different philosophy. As it turns out, the Confinement Center is a kind of halfway house, the place were essentially hardened criminals who have served their terms were almost of their terms transition back into society. So suddenly i found myself in a room about the size sleeping with 120 convicts. Drug smugglers, coyotes, coyotes, armed robbers, rapists, the whole gambit. We slept in bunkbeds, dormitory style initially i was a little terrified because i realize all of these guys appeared to be in groups or gangs. Now being on the mexican border, this is mainly hispanic, but even the hispanic divided into two big groups. There is mexicans and then american hispanics who are called south siders. They had their own group. So i was like, i cant sit down and chat with this guy because i might offend that guy. So initially, i was to myself. I considered but rejected the idea of starting an asian indian gang as i would be the sole member and have to occupy all of the offices. [laughter] but after about a month and confinement i began to realize that this strange place was actually a learning environment. I was like an anthropologist in a strange land. I was in a place certainly play certainly were there were very few conservatives ever go. Im not going to go down the hallway and run into someone, so i said to myself, why dont i try to talk to these guys and try to learn about a side of america that i have never seen. So, over eight months i absorbed what what i am going to call the ideology of the criminal underclass. I have gone into confinement with having seen the shawshank redemption. And i thought, while these are all guys that are going to profess that they are not guilty. But what i found out that most of them have somewhat different and more interesting view. Their view is, we, we are guilty. We did do it but, we are the small fry the big criminals are out there. They are at large. They are the big fried and in fact the system never goes after them because they run the system. Now this got me thinking, because i remember having read, actually this is in the augusta city of god, story about alexander the great and the pirate, the great Emperor Alexander have heard that there is a pirate on the open blessed in his sheets and the ships so he summoned before him where did you get this crazy idea of raiding ships and taking people stuff. The power goes, i got it from you. The pirate says i have one ship therefore i am a pirate, you have a whole navy and army and because you are on a much larger scale you are called the great emperor. Now, what were trying to get at is getting this idea from this group that politics, which ive been part of all my life was not so different from the world of petty criminals robbers and racketeers, but but it was disguised and therefore less obvious to see. In fact for 25 years of my career i have looked at america as an idea. Ive defended american principles, the american dream, the american founding. American founding. Ive looked at american politics is a debate. The republicans believed in liberty. The democrats believed in equality. Republicans won equality of of rights, democrats want equality of outcomes. Now it is the point of view of the criminal under class that this way of looking at american politics is complete and total nonsense. That human beings are actually not solely made motivated by these highminded ideals i remember lying in my bunk bed and listening to people talk and i realized the sick conference of their subject is very limited. They talked about food, sleep, six, and money. That was it, nothing else. So the criminals live at a primal level on their view is that human life, included politics is not just driven by the desire to have a better society. The desire to save the earth or make sure everyone has a job, or healthcare, no. Politics like the rest of life is driven by hatred, loss, lust, envy, revenge, all of the basic human motives that drive us from the inside but mysteriously somehow are never talked about. Including, by republicans. So, what what i would like to do briefly today is give a little bit of it different idea of american politics. When that looks at it but not in those terms. Machiavelli says he is criticized in the inch of he says right about imaginary principalities that have never and truth be known to exist. In other words we always write about things in the way things ought to be. But we never look at the world in the way it actually is. That is our problem as conservatives, republicans. One. One reason we are in the predicament we are politically is because we tend to look at america we tend to look at the other side through i would say, rose tinted glasses. Me too. But, id like to look at america differently. If we look at the left to describe us, they do what the criminals do, they look at the motives and they attack our motives relentlessly. So a left wing description of the people in this world would go Something Like this, you people are greedy, selfish, materialistic, warmongers, sexist, racist, homophobic, you are against the environment and so on. It is long familiar litany. Basically, to put it bluntly, your budget really bad people. But, if we look at how republicans describe democrats for the past 25 years, it goes like this. Democrats are wellmeaning people who try to do good for society but their policies just dont happen to work very well. In fact, if you look at the republican candidates today and he asked them about obama, you get a consistent thing. Obama does not get it. Obama is a nice guy. Hes trying to do good, but he just does not understand. So now begins the gop obama educational project. That is to say, we then now perceived to lecture obama on the way the world really is. Hey obama, we need to inform you that putin used to be a kgb officer. Hey obama, we need to tell you that if they say they want to build a bomb, they probably do. Hey obama, if you have tax rates that may not be a very good thing for the commonly, and on and on. We we have been doing this for seven years. Evidently, obama is a a super slow learner. [laughter] he never gets it. He doesnt even seem interested in this great educational project that we have going. Now, after a wild and intelligent person begins to think that maybe he is not about this at all. Maybe, Something Else is going on and we should Pay Attention to what that might be. Now, look at american politics a little differently, i want you to imagine a guy who has been working hard for a living putting up numbers for cleaning office floors, this guys now living lets say, in dallas. He leaves his office, his home is underwater, his credit card bills are too high, he is going home and he passes the Dallas Country Club and a beautiful restaurant and he looks through the glass doors and he sees all of these people who are eating, drinking, limousines are pulling in and out, everyone seems to be laughing. Suddenly he begins to experience a certain kind of index clickable rage. Is actually not experiencing anger so much as he is experiencing megabyte. And the is the worst of all human emotions. The reason it is so bad is every other vice, you look look at the seven deadly sins, all of the other deadly sins have some element of good in them. Take anger, anger is actually a deadly sin but aristotle says that to be angry with the right person, and the right way at the right time, and for the right reason is a good thing. So the other vices are not all bad. But envy, is all bad, it has no redeeming virtue to it it is often confused with its cousin, which is jealousy. But jealousy actually is rooted in something good. If you you look at and you read the play of fellow, the hero is jealous. Why is he jealous . He thinks his wife is having an affair. He is wrong, but if she were he would be right to be angry. Why . Because jealousy is that feeling of anger is being deprived being deprived of something that you do have a right to. That is actually yours. The villain of the play is envious. He says he has a daily beauty in his life that makes me ugly. So what has he done . Nothing. His goodness rebukes that is why he hates them and he wants to bring him down. The key to mv is not selfimprovement, it it is pulling the other cut down. So the guy who is standing outside the restaurant looking through the glass door, he does not say those people are successful because they did something i did not do. They thought of ideas i do not have. They completed school when i dropped out, so i need to go back to school, i need to come up with a successful app. Need to come up within idea, thats not mb, thats emulation. Megabyte is. Envious, i would like to pull myself up since i do not how to do that, i would like to pull that guy down. And b is a destructive and always accompanied by anger and resentment. So heres the sky, smoldering smoldering with resentment when who should show up . The familiar community organizer, on a white horse no less. The obama type. The important thing to realize is that it is confused with resentment and envy. The president of the United States what could be making you envious . We live in an Entrepreneurial Society where the greatest recognition of the greatest reward go to people come up with new stuff. Think of the iphone, the genius of the iphone is not that steve jobs is supplying consumer demand. Nobody wrote him a letter saying i want to a phone that does this and that. The genius of the entrepreneur is that he or she anticipates your wants before you even have them. The iphone is created and presented into the market before you knew you could not live without it. Now, obama does not know how to make an iphone. In fact, that guy that i cannot even put up a website. [laughter] from the entrepreneurial point of view, we are looking at a total loser. But this does not mean that obama is not talented. He is actually very talented, but he is talented at Something Else. I would say he is not a community organizer, he is a resentment organizer. But he is able to say to the guy standing in front of the restaurant is, listen pal, youre not actually envious, you are righteously indignant. Why . You see the people in that restaurant, they have been stealing from you. There are actually imposition of your stuff. The good news for you is you dont have to do anything except vote for me. I have a bunch of powerful friends and together we will go and take their stuff and give some of it to you. Now, this seems to me the hidden conflict that is going on in american politics, it is a conflict between the entrepreneurial class or the welcome creators and all the people who work for them. All the people who actually create wealth. On the one hand, and on the other hand, a very powerful alliance. Not just politicians, not Just Community organizer, the powerful people in the media, academia, all of these people are fighting to transfer control of the leaders of american wealth and power from the entrepreneurs. So this is a secret war in American Society and our politics and all the rhetoric we hear is in disguise. What the criminals in the Confinement Center call it is a fish. Whats a fish . Lets say you are a game and you want to rob old ladies by breaking into their apartment and taking their stuff. Much easier than breaking into the apartment is convincing the old lady to take the latch off the door and then you kick the door and into your thing. So what you say to her to make you trust her momentarily to lift that latch, thats called a pitch. I want to look at obama care and the obama care pitch. If i was writing about obama care i write about it doesnt work, does it discourage people from going into edison and so forth. But now lets lets look at obama care a little differently. Lets say it has a competent scheme or scam. So obama goes to the American People and he goes, hey guys, i have a good one for you. You see these Insurance Companies, they they are rich, they are fatcats, they have a lot of money, lets you and i go get him. Lets make them do stuff that otherwise they would not do, stupid stuff but lets make them insurance for ailments we had before. Think about how crazy that is. Thats like calling Fire Insurance when your house is already on fire. How do we do that . So a lot of americans go what a great idea. You go get them. But now the plot thickens. Because obama sits down with the ceos of the Insurance Companies is guys i have a deal for you. I want to have a greater federal control over the whole healthcare industry. You wont like that, but part of my plan is to force millions of americans who do not want insurance, do not want to pay for, dont want to buy it, im going to make them buy it, by law. That means millions of new customers for you and hundreds of millions of dollars in prophet so you need to support obama care by convincing people to put it through. So heres my point. Obama care on the surface as a collusion between obama and the American People to go get the Insurance Companies. In reality, obama care is a collusion between obama and the Insurance Companies. To go get the american taxpayer. To go get the American People. This to me is a little bit of a more illuminating and realistic way of seeing how politicians operate in other words, ways in which they use politics to colonize large areas of the economy. What what we have seen under obama is the federal government extending its reach over banks and investment houses, automobile companies, the entire health care industry. Now theyre moving into the Energy Factor in using free college stuff to get into education. Another multibilliondollar we are not talk about the government sector but the private sector. So, this resentful class of people have no interest in creating wealth. They dont want to run these companies, they dont want to tell you where to drill or where to find oil, but once you find oil they want to appropriate it. They want to be able to tell you what to do it, what to sell for more that money should go. Now, this may seem like a dark and unbelievable portrait of american politics, we have seen the kind of corruption that was at one time confined to small pockets of american life. The urban machine in new york, or, or the daily racket in chicago, but not we havent hillary, secretary of state who figured out how to convert her office which is to say American Foreign policy itself into an instrument of accumulation of enormous private wealth. In other words, the ingenuity of the clintons is they figured out how to make money out of the Uranium Mines and out of canadian billionaires who have Oil Interests in africa. Clintons even figured out how to make money in haiti. Theres no money in haiti. But yet there is a big envelope of 10 billion of asian money. Bill clinton can be the un appointed assignor of that aid and hillary his wife is a secretary of state, i mean, i can just a match in the glasses of champagne in the clinton household. Its like putting bonnie and clyde in charge of this haiti building operation not surprising very little of the egg go through why . Because these guys have figured out how to make politics pay, big time. Hillary looks bored when she said we start out bro, but its true. The clintons had no money when the when into politics. Now, they have quite a few hundreds of millions of dollars in their foundation is over 1,000,000,000. How do you go from zero to 200 million at warp speed . When will you do it is you and that the iphone, they did not do that. They figured out how to make politics pay. We have not seen this level of corruption in america before. We have had rich president s, fdr was rich, jfk was rich, but they were rich before. No one would say of jimmy carter, trimming, or, trimming, oregano that they came to government to make money. But we are seen with obama and hillary, this undying thirst for money and power. Now, bill bill is a very different character than hillary. Both of them are, you may say racketeers. But bills racket and his positions are limited by the cert conference circumference of his appetite. Basically hes in a big room and everyones wanting over him and theres an adequate supply females around. If you dont think that if you supply his immediate appetite, he is a happy camper. He does not necessarily want to run your life. That to him was too much. Hillary on the other hand is a very different set of ambitions. She is much like obama, she wants to ask then fully reversed, not of government control, but of their control. They are the ones were running the government. Let me fastforward to where this leads us as republicans. As conservatives. It seems to me part of our problem and the reason why the left is able to do this is not just because they fight harder in the political field, they do. But it is also because they have essentially moved over the past 25 years to take over all the big megaphones of our society. By by this i mean, the cultural institutions that shape peoples way of thinking. Im thinking here of the mainstream media, im thinking here of hollywood and broadway, im thinking of the broad specter of comedians who have a influence on young people, they have john mars, colbert, we have nothing. Theyre taking over much of the elite education, Higher Education is becoming increasingly powerful in elementary and secondary education. So how do we expect, not to win, even to compete when all of these large megaphones, these megaphones of information, how do we get the information out . Always seem seem to have us talk radio, rush limbaugh, ox news channel which is basically talk radio on tv, and thats kind of it. So, in my own case i have pivoted my career. I used to be a think tank guy. A straight books for a substantial audience. But the movies movies have reached a much bigger audience. My last book was New York Times bestseller list and reached 2000 people but my film on obama reach 8 million people. In fact this is what makes me one of the stupidest criminals in the history. I should have no making that movie that there is a big target on my back. But if i did, the slightest thing wrong, on my taxes or in any fear, i would become vulnerable to the full power of the government. Now, heres the thing the left gets away with this all the time. About the the same time as my case was making it way through the court. By by the way give 20000 over the campaignfinance limit to a College Friend of mine who is running for the senate in new york. At the same time another guy, and asian indian guy, we seem to specializing campaignfinance violation. Anyway, this guy gave 180,000 donation tooth hillary and a bunch of other democratic candidates. He also had witness tampering for witnesses to lie under oath. No prison, no confinement. So this is the america we are moving into. What i mean is justices not simply a matter did you break the law, but proportion in the penalty to the offense. Making offense. Making sure that other guys who did the same thing get roughly the same. Progressive justice is a kind of oxymoron. The progressives are using it to use it to go after us. Theyre very effective at this, impact in fact we dont compete with it because when they say justice, think about it they are say justice. Social justice, fair, fair share, that their mantra. We replied by saying freedom, liberty, but liberty does not form justice. Liberty is the king but justice is the ace. So we play the king liberty, boom they put the ace justice, and they take the hand. We need to compete in contest their bogus view of justice which is actually an disguise form of injustice and appropriation. Ultimately liberalism is appropriating wealth that does not belong to them. You drive around West Virginia you will see pretty much everything in the state is named after robert burke. Robert byrd highway, when i was at dartmouth i saw buildings named after people which was appropriately honoring the daughter. Now do they pay for the highway . No did he pay for the Medical Center . No he had taxpayer money to build the things, the Medical Center that was credited to him. Obama goes to young people, one more scan before close. He goes im going to give you a rebate on your college loans. Im im going to give you free college. Really . How are you going to do that . College is not free, their buildings you have to pay for professors, equipment, obamas ideas government will pay for which government does not have the money to government so we will be added to the national debt. Who is going to be paid off national that . Young people. So what obama is actually doing is going up to young person, reaching into his back pocket, taking money out of his or her own future earnings and giving it back to them now. Pretending to be a fantastically generous guy. Its a complete scam. Hes not even robbing peter to pay paul, hes robbing paul to pay paul. [laughter] he now expects pauls undying gratitude in exchange for this and paul says obama pay for my college. Now, all of us in this room feel a little frustrated about what we can do about this. The truth of it is we all have far more influence than we realize. Last year when my book america came out and by the way, this is the left using its influence, someone from the Obama Administration, i dont know who walks into cosco so my book over there and realized that their democratic donors that hes of the Obama Administration someone made phone calls. They said what the heck are you carrying his book is a rightwinger and against you guys. So. So cosco decided as a corporation, to pull my book from every cosco the country. This is called the left using its power. They do not want to be on the wrong side of obama. Much bigger fish to fry with him then with me. But, but, a reporter found out about it and wrote an article in the worldnetdaily which caused an interruption of outrage among the readers on their website, how can you do the censorship, why would you do this . An online mob assembled at worldnetdaily. But i want to emphasize this was an online mob entirely without influence, until someone in that group decided, why are we on the worldnetdaily site . We should be discussing this on the cosco site. Very important change of venue. Now the snowball began to roll towards cosco by the time it got there a few arse later, the, the 1000 people multiply to 17000 people. A big number, but but not a gargantuan number. The 17000 people to put it bluntly, destroyed the cosco website. By destroyed what i mean is they went into every you buy a pair of pants or grill, you click on that, you would see a very fashionable lady before their taxes cutting up a cosco membership card or mailing it into the ceo in small pieces. Causing the man to get so upset that he flew me to cld in an emergency session and uttered the following words as i entered the room, you, are destroying cosco. Me, im destroying a multibillion Dollar Corporation all by myself . He made it very clear im not only jeopardizing his job at the jobs of thousands of cosco employees. Now, what now, what are we saying here . What were seen is a big business which has huge grand loyalty cannot survive the fury of 17000 people applying concentrated power were actually matters. Where does matter. I said goodbye, thank you the moment i landed i learned cosco has reversed its decision, all my books have awarded 25000 new copies of my book and when they came out in america last year normally there on a big table, they built a special stand,. Clapmac so in the new era of technology this is how we use influence. Let me close this way, years ago my professor told me the story of a lion tamer and a lion. Heres the lying, heres the line tamer, little guy with a stick. He throws a stick in the line begins to do all kinds of tricks. Imagination in response to the line tamer. My professor asks a simple question, who is actually more powerful . The line tamer or the line . Well, its a lion. So why is the line so sick of acting so obediently prancing to the instruction of the lion tamer . The answer is the lion doesnt know its own power. The line thinks that the line tamer is more powerful. That is our position as americans. We actually are actually are extremely powerful. This progressive hype cannot go on without our permission. It cannot go on if we decide to apply concentrated power against it. But we have to be creative and thinking of how to use that power. Next year im going to release a movie. It will come out probably the of the democratic convention. [applause]. Theyre going to be given your narrative and and we are going to give you truth. A counter narrative you might say. Now it is not in my power but it is in your power to take this messaging and it probably will not come from the rnc or the official apparatus of the party, take this film and put it in the hands of independent voters who will decide the election. That is called using your influence. Dont just say im in a red state what can i do . There is something you can do. The movie will open on Opening Weekend with probably 1500 or 2000 theaters. If you go see it Opening Weekend and we have a good Opening Weekend, will be in 4000 theaters next week. If we have a mediocre opening well go from 2000 theaters to 1000 theaters. So how do we get your movie to independent voters, is actually your hand. You must go Opening Weekend. You might want to say what i can see it when it comes out on dvd. Thats okay but you have a multiplying effect on taking this potent messaging and helping it fire out by giving influence where it matters. Theres very few times in history where the ordinary citizen is called upon. Formally america is a country where its like a house. You never need to go consult the blueprints of a building. You walk in the hallways and sit on the couch. Its only when the building begins to shake that you say i better go to the attic, figure out figure out how it was put together. We are at one of those times where its now in our hands on it by tragic necessity it is our mission to be in the position to save this country.
