Experience on an iowa farm kas traiting hogs, she was using that to make the point that she would go to washington and cut pork and the tag line of that was, lets make them squeal. I think that not only got a lot of air play nationaly, but it was big in iowa. A lot of the polls have shown that she is doing very well her men and i suspect that and the to enof that tone of thatd may have helped a lot that ad may have helped a lot. I think ads are very influential in this race. Y were familiar with iowas 99 counties, every four years theyre first in the nation in president ial caucuses. Can you give our audience an overview of the political geography of iowa and what youre looking for as the numbers come in on Election Night . Iowas a purple state and one of the most purple in the country. We still have a divided legislature, house is held by the republicans, the senate is held by the democrats. And by a very brief majority. The republican governor is cruising for reelection. His race is not very close at all. Which i think gives republicans an edge going into this race. Also the fact that barack obama continues to be unpopular in iowa. Again, i think sort of a typical midterm edge to the Party Opposite the president. So we have that going into Election Night. However, democrats have been very organized. They always hold an advantage in early voting which they do again this year. The Republican Party has been in a sort of revitalization period. Party leadership completely turned over at the beginning of the summer. So theyve had to get their feet on the ground and try to get organized for fall at the same time. Hi, everybody. American leadership is the one constant in an uncertain world. That was true this week. As we mobilized the world to confront some of our most urgent challenges. Americas leading the world in the fight to degrade and ultimately destroy the terrorist group known as isil. On monday our brave men and women in uniform began air strikes against isil targets in syria. And i made it clear that america would act as a part of a Broad Coalition and we were joined in this action by friends and partners, including arab nations. The United Nations in new york, i worked to build more support to this coalition. To cut off terrorist financing and to stop the flow of foreign fighters into and out of that region. In my address to the u. N. , i challenged the world, especially muslim communities, to reject the identifyology of vie ideology of violent extremism. Americas leading the effort to rally the world against russian aggression in ukraine. Along with our allies, we will support the people of ukraine as they develop their democracy and economy. And this week i called upon even more nations to join us on the right side of history. Americas leading the fight to contain and combat the ebola epidemic in west africa. Were deploying our doctors and scientists, supported by our military, to help corral the outbreak and pursue new treatments. From the United Kingdom and germany, to france and senegal, other nations are stepping up their efforts too. Sending money, supplies and personnel. And we will continue to rally other countries to join us in making concrete commitments to fight this disease. And enhance Global Health security for the longterm. Americas engaging more partners and allies to confront the growing threat of Climate Change before its too late. Were doing our part on helping developing nations do theirs. At home weve invested in clean energy, cut carbon pollution, and created new
