On the court, he was learning new things. Maybe he was learning new areas of law or skills. There was always a way to keep learning, even in a job you had done for a long time. I think that is incredibly important advice, which i try to think about all the time. I am in all of many of my colleagues that they have been on the court for a lot of years, but they are still thinking hard about every case. I think everybody on the court does that. Even people who have been there for really quite a long time. Im a huge fan of my colleagues for that reason. There is nobody there that is on autopilot. It might be the 23rd time ive seen this issue, but im going to think through this issue as hard as i did the first time. Think that she i has talked about her parents. She says that her parents memories remind her every day of the impact Public Service can have. She said she prayed every day that she would live up to the example they set. I think we would all agree that she has exceeded this example and have lived up to the expectations and that you have had a huge impact on Public Service and education for this generation and the next. Org. Nbc news is reporting that fbi director james comey has started to reach out to members of Congress Regarding the investigation into Hillary Clintons emails. That is according to an unnamed congressional source. Director tellme reportedly spoke yesterday with House Judiciary Committee chair Bob Goodlatte and john conyers. Several lawmakers continue to call for briefings and the release of more information. Yesterday, a group of Senate Democrats sent a letter to the fbi director and attorney general Loretta Lynch requesting more disclosure as soon as monday. The Congressional Black Caucus asking more information be released. A briefts members held conference yesterday in ohio to talk about the investigation following a Campaign Event for Hillary Clinton. Good afternoon. Im congressman Gregory Meeks and share of the Congressional Black Caucuss Political Action committee. Im joined by members of the Congressional Black Caucus as well as mayors and former mayors from across this great country of ours. Because ioday am also a former prosecutor. I prosecuted in new york for several years. It just seems to be given the letter that was issued yesterday somethingsy that i am puzzled and we are puzzled about. Through this whole campaign season, we have listened and we heard donald trump and our republican colleagues talk about stroking hatred, dividing our country, trying to bully. Donald trump has been trying to bully his way into the presidency. Has even included in that and if you listen to everything he said prior to yesterday, he was bullying the director of the fbi. Just listen to the words he said about the director of the fbi. Anytime they did not agree with anything he said, it was all kinds of words and conspiracies that was coming out of the mouth of donald trump. When comey decided not to go andard with the emails said clearly that there was nothing illegal that Hillary Clinton had done, the case was closed. Now months later, after the continued pressure of trump and republicans to revisit this has sent the director an unbelievable letter to members of congress. It firstst say he sent only to the republican chairman of congress and only after it was tweeted out by the care of the Government Reform Committee that the democratic members of the Committee Received anything. That is very curious to me. That, we are just days away from the election to determine, for the American People to determine who the next president of the United States will be. And this letter, i read it over ,nd over and over again provides little new information to the public. All it does is give republicans a new basis of which to attack Hillary Clintons. Me thatbelievable to one would get involved in a president ial election 10 days from the election. As you look at it and the more that we have learned from it, according to nbc comedies emails did not come from secretary clintons server at all. According to the los angeles times, clinton did not even sent or personally receive these emails. Be the case that most or all the email are duplicates of ones that have already been sent over. , if all this is true, if all this is true, then why would go as toirector so far send this highly unusual letter. It does not make any sense to me. On top of that, you do not hear the director talking about any other investigation he is involved in. Is he investigating the Trump Foundation . Is he looking into the russians hacking into all of our emails . Is he looking into and deciding what is going on with regards to other allegations of the Trump Organization n . What we have come to the conclusion is that since he is open the door, he has opened the door. What the American People deserve , what the American People require is they open it all the way. Bring out all the facts. Whatverybody read and know emails you are talking about. Let everybody know where the investigation or what you are investigating. Dont be an individual or be the one who tries to sway an election 10 days beforehand. The American People deserve and we want to know in its entirety what the emails are and what you are investigating, so when we go to the polls on november 8 all the facts are out there, not just innuendo and trying to hurt someones reputation or give republicans some fodder. We need that and we need it now. With that, we will address any questions you may have. Thisme people are saying will be governmental for Hillary Clintons campaigns. What are your thoughts and message to ohio voters . Hillary clinton is still on the campaign trail. The reason we are here, we will make sure people come out to vote like never before. We will utilize this as an inspiration visit because we know individuals want to suppress. That is what donald trump was talking about before, oppressing the vote. We will go all across america, even more so and make sure the voters come out. Hillary clinton is staying on the campaign trail. Those of us any congressionally Congressional Black Caucus are going to pennsylvania, we are back to florida, ohio, he will make your people both and i think the American People will come out to vote like never before. One more question if you havent. Rep. Meeks thank you. There was plenty of talk on the sunday morning shows about fbi director comey and his decision to inform congress about potential developments in the clinton email investigation. We hear first from democratic Vice President of candidate tim kaine, a live by john podesta and trump canting Campaign Manager kellyanne conway. Why would you bring these two protocols . Why would you release information that is so incomplete when you have not even seen the material yourself 11 days before an election . I just have no way of understanding these actions. They are completely unprecedented and thats why i think he owes the market public more information. In the past you call them a wonderful career public servant. Sen kaine thats what makes this so hard understand. I worked with jen komi when he jim comey. That is what makes this so complete the puzzling. They did a thorough investigation of this matter and said they were not releasing tentative conclusions along the way. They waited until they got to the end and then he given unequivocal finding. Why he would release this tentative letter and then have hoursk up on it within 24 when he has not even seen the emails himself, i just cannot understand it . What about the point dan abrams was making that he was caught between a rock and a hard place. He wouldve been criticized for keeping silent on an issue like this before the election. Sen. Kaine the issue is not whether someone would criticize him. The issue is is he following established protocol for Law Enforcement investigations. This was an unprecedented acts and action. It broke with a policy of democratic and republican Justice Departments. It was done over the device of Senior Justice Department officials. I think the Justice Department has had a long tradition of not interfering with an election, coming 11 days before an election. It was long a innuendo, short on fact. We calling him to come forward, explain what is at issue here. So far there is no charge of wrongdoing, no charge even that itand reporting that backs up from anonymous Law Enforcement sources indicates it may not be about her server or her at all. I think this is something that has been tossed into the middle of the campaign. We would have preferred that not happen but now that it has happened mr. Comey issa come forward and explain what he took this unprecedented step. Particularly when he said in himself that these may not be significant. Come back andey said we decline to press charges, the investigation is over and it will be no further charges. Had he just said that then we would except that result. What he did was he went on to explain why his conclusion was wrong. I guess he was trying to clear his own conscience. I know many prosecutors who were confounded that he sets is a public standard by testifying before congress, having that unprecedented statement to the world on july 5 where he was leading up to a conclusion that was different than the one he had announced. Isnt this what people hate about politicians . Yes, it is but the politicians Hillary Clinton. She will put herself and her campaign and the nation at risk. She is unqualified and unfit to be president based on her constantly her closest advisors not complying and swearing under oath they turned over these devices when clearly they had not. They have imperiled National Security. See if Hillary Clinton has anything to say about the investigation which is weeks to supporters today at a rally just outside of Fort Lauderdale. We will take you there live when things get underway in about 30 minutes. Until then, a look at the state of florida and its influence in this year and past elections. Host we are back continuing our battleground series with florida. Join us from Fort Lauderdale is dr. Susan macmanus. Phd Political Science professor at the university of south florida. Lets start with why is florida a battleground state . Why is it a swing state . Guest florida is a microcosm of the United States at large. We often say our politics is imported from every part of the United States, but also from latin america and other countries. We are a melting pot and our demographics more closely parallel and mirror the United States with race and ethnicity. An increasingly in age than any other state. We are absolutely almost tied in terms of the percentage of registered democrats and republicans. 38 democrats and 36 republicans and the rest no Party Affiliation. Host Party Registration is your parity. What is the impact of that on outcomes in the state swinging back and forth . Guest the last 3 elections we have had, the 2010 governors race and the 2014 governors race and 12 president ial contest , the victor only carried florida by 1 . That is how competitive this state is. 2012 alone when obama bested , romney, he only won by 0. 9 . This is highly competitive. The parties work hard the , grassroots is critical. The swing voters are on the rise. It really explains why were just inundated with Television Ads and have been. Host the electoral votes, how many . And what does that mean . Guest 29 Electoral College votes. We have 27 u. S. House members plus the two senators. We are a powerhouse when it comes to the Electoral College. We are the thirdlargest state. We have the same number as new york. We are frankly of the big states with a lot of Electoral College votes by far the most competitive. California leans blue. Texas red. New york blue. Florida purple. Host where does the race stand now in florida . Guest just to show you how volatile it is, within the past two days we had one poll come out that shows trump was up by two. And another that Shows Hillary was up by three. Take your pick. The bottom line is they are both still a tossup statistically. That is why there is such an intense battle right now to make sure that everybody who is registered votes. Get out the vote is that frenzied level right now because vote by mail has been happening for a couple of weeks. Inperson early voting started this week. Everybody is reporting daily how many people have turned in their vote by mail ballots how many , people have voted early in person. The real push has been to vote before election day, a push that is being pushed by both the parties and campaigns because they can track who has voted and focus on those who have not. But also by floridas election supervisors. The last thing that any supervisor we have 67 counties the last thing any of them want are long lines on election day they keep floridas results from being affirmed for a couple of days as what happened in 2012. A push everywhere to vote early, either in person or by mail. Host who are these swing voters . The unaffiliated voters that could ship the balance for one of these candidates . Guest the swing voters are swing for a lot of different reasons. Age wise, we know many of them are younger voters. Among floridas millennials which are the 18 to , 34yearolds, a third of them are registered with no Party Affiliation which explains why both parties have aimed their sights on College Campuses. There are also other independents who really are minor party affiliates. Sometimes we lump the two together. Libertarians, greens and other minor parties make up 24 of our state. Among those are people who are disaffected with the parties, dont like either of them for different reasons, so the swing voters are really all over the map. The largest concentration is the young. In terms of race and ethnicity, there are larger shares of independents among hispanics and asians which those two populations make up about 15 or 16 of floridas registered voters. Host florida has in the past been seen as seniors voting. There are pockets of senior republican. At lean seniors tend to be they can vote either way but sometimes can be conservative. You also have the demographics of religion in florida. How does that play out . Guest religious makeup in florida is absolutely identical to the national makeup. When i give presentations i often have a chart that shows the religious makeup in florida. Researchased on pew data. It is a perfect mirror. The big change since the last president ial election has been a rise of unaffiliated people, people who do not identify with any faith which is almost 24 of the population in florida. Almost the same nationally. They are the young millennials. Frankly religion has not been a , key part of a lot of the discussion in this years election. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that both parties are recognizing that the millennials who are now americas largest generation and becoming a powerhouse politically that religion is not , some way that you reach them. Frankly, in our state, based on the Sunshine State survey which im the director, the number one issue here is the economy and jobs. Religion has taken a backseat to other demographics this time out. You mentioned the cuban vote which has been solidly republican, but now the younger cubans are leaning more democratic. You cant say the hispanic vote is all cuban and all republican, because frankly now noncuban hispanics outnumber cubans. They leaned heavily toward the democrats. Puerto ricans are the big story this timeout. The biggest change in terms of hispanics since the 2012 election has been a huge influx, because the islands economy has been crashing. Many have moved to the Central Florida area, orlando. More in tampa as well. The two areas together the i4 , corridor, the big story is the influx of Puerto Ricans. The democrats have been making some inroads there. Host if they had stayed in prater rico, they would not be able to vote for president. When they moved to florida, what is it like for them to change their residency and vote . Guest any person who becomes a citizens can cast their vote. It means so much. I have a couple of canadian friends who just became citizens. They are watching everything that comes on television, reading everything. They are so excited to vote. The same is true with Puerto Ricans, especially in the orlando area which is the largest concentration of new arrivals. We are beginning to see them exert power in terms of officers offices. You recently had in the august 30 primaries in florida, three Puerto Ricans that secured democratic nominations, one for the u. S. Congress, the house, another for a Florida Senate seat, and another for a Florida House seat. Their muscle is being exerted not only in terms of voting, but now in officeholding. Host before we get to calls, dr. Macmanus, talk about the geography of florida. You mentioned the i4 corridor, but how does it break down, and where are the areas voters should watch on Election Night . Guest lets start on the top, the famous panhandle. Lets go from pensacola east towards jacksonville. That is the more conservative part of the state. Typically votes republican. Several military installations, especially closer to pensacola, the panama city area, other bases there. That is the conservative part of the state. And it is pretty much rural. You will see high turnout, 70 , 80 , in some of the Rural Counties in north florida. Then lets go down to southwest florida, which would be naples, and collier county, fort myers. That is the most solidly republican part of florida. If you go to the southeast part of the state, that is the most solidly Democratic Party. A lot of it explains how people arrive in florida. I95 takes northeasterners from new york and new jersey down the east coast and settle in southeast florida. 75 takes equal from the midwest the west coast and they settle down in southwest florida. The interstate highway system has sort of helped formulate who lives where. But the real key battleground is the i4 corridor, which stretches from daytona east to st. Petersburg. The two media markets, tampa and orlando together account for 44 of floridas registered voters, and in those two media markets, the percentage of republicans and democrats is a most identical. That is why the midriff of florida called the swing part of the swing state. It is why you see the most Television Ads in the whole country. Number one, orlando market. Number two, tampa. It is the battleground. Rarely will a candidate come to florida and not appear in one of those two media markets on a visit. Host and the candidates have and the candidates have been there this past week several holding several rallies and we have been covering them on cspan. You can see our coverage on cspan. Org. Lets get to calls. Billy in miami, florida. Good morning to you. What is it like where you are living . Caller i am an anglo living in a spanish town where i grew up and i was raised. Two things we have to think about. When i see the commercials of Hillary Clinton sitting before the Investigative Committee where she says benghazi happened, what difference does it make now . That rubs me the wrong way because i am ex military. Secondly, i saw a College Student voice an opinion. He said we are electing a president , not electing a pastor of a church. Im sure if we went back in history with george bush, dwight eisenhower, bill clinton, right on down the line i am sure we would hear stories that are comparable to what we are hearing about donald trump. It is 2016. It is not 1953. You have a different character with donald trump, which i support holy. But then again, i have to think about i am a liberal, and i am a gay man. With Hillary Clinton, the next 8 years, we are going to be placing for Supreme Court justices. Four Supreme Court judges and we need liberal judges on the court. I am kind of torn. I support a lot of ideas donald trump has. With Hillary Clinton, it will be more of the same. It really bothered me when we gave iran back the money. When they violated a worldaccepted policy where you do not cross the line of an american embassy, i think they should have forfeited the money. Host ok, billy, let me jump in at this point. You have less than two weeks. When do you think you will decide, how will you make the decision . Caller i have made a decision, but there is room for change on both sides. It is a torn issue. I like the man. I like his ideas, and i have to worry about the Supreme Court justices. Thank you very much. Host you bet, billy. We heard that point. Dr. Macmanus, what is your reaction hearing billy in miami . Guest absolutely reflects what i hear across the state. People are just really torn. They do not know how they are going to vote. It is because people really want to do the right thing. If there is one common theme i hear a lot among floridians it is i wish this country could come back together, that there could be a healing of this horrible divide in this country. But what they see in the two candidates, they dont see that coming together. There is such polarization. They like some aspects of one candidate, but not of the other. Some people have described this whole election as a personalitybased election rather than an issuebased that is that isthink one of the key changes we have seen in the election that has everyone asking is if the craziest election you have ever seen . Of course i have to say yes. It has really changed how we campaign. But many people are torn. In our state you do have a large number of military retirees and activeduty military and their families, and Security Issues are always a big concern in our state, as we heard from this gentleman. We also have a sizable gay population. Increasingly very political in terms of their activities in politics, in terms of donations and high turnout groups. Many running for office now. I understand people like billy who are really conflicted who , are worried about the security of the country, but at the same time worried about the Supreme Court. Host oscar is next in yucca valley, california. Good morning. Caller good morning. I think millennials are going to take the state because this is a progressive state. It is like california. These people are young, and i will say it is not just educated whites, it is educated whites and blacks that will vote for in florida and will elect Hillary Clinton. This state will be taken by millennials. This is not the old guard of florida. This is a new florida. Host lets get dr. Macmanus opinion of that. Guest as an academic, i have to write things after the election, and my big storyline has been, has been the rise of the millennials, the 18 to 34yearolds. We talked earlier. People think you have to come at a florida run to a large area , where there are retirees, talk about Social Security and medicare and you win florida. Those days are long gone. The two youngest generations in florida, the millennials and xers make up 50 of registered voters. What are they interested in, the same thing many others are interested in, the economy and jobs. The big question mark is whether they will vote, because there are many of the millennials that do not like the twoparty system. After all, huge portions of them voted for bernie sanders. They are not really as warm toward hillary. They do not necessarily like trump. Will they vote . It is a huge issue. If they vote, she will win. That is why she has been going to College Campuses and her surrogates as well. Hillary clinton is able to bring in surrogates that connect with younger people. Obama is a terrific surrogate for her, as is his wife, michelle obama. There is still a big if about the millennials this time. To them, especially younger ones, younger women even, the idea of a elect hillary because she is a woman, it does not resonate. Too many younger people, many younger people racial Ethnic Diversity is a key part of their lives. Race is still seen as many, by many as a bigger barrier in life than gender. Older ones do not necessarily feel that way. I think the millennials are a big if in terms of turnout and that is why the last days are spent at aiming everything at gotv efforts on College Campuses in florida. Host as part of that effort to get them to vote early . Caller absolutely. There was also before this a big push to have them change their registration. Surveyede things we was we surveyed a lot of Election Officials across the state. What are the common questions that people call your office and ask about because i was able to talk to groups across the state about how to reach people. One of the biggest things the supervisors told me was that many young people just dont know how to change their registration from one place to the other, which often has been in the past one of the reasons they had not voted. They were under the impression you have to run home to where you are registered to vote. Its easy to change your registration to where you are currently living. I do think the supervisors across the state have try to get out that message more. Its the mechanics of voting. Brandnew voters, brandy registrants really need the extra help in telling them where handingen, having them a sample ballot in explaining things. Brandnew voters are still unsure and intimidated. That is the role of parties and candidates and election people, to make sure those new registrants actually vote. Host because of Hurricane Matthew a federal judge in florida extended early voting past october 18. It goes from october 29 until november 5, and that has been extended. Over 120,000 people have taken advantage. Lets go to adult on a, florida. Deltona, florida. Lori, good morning. Caller good morning, cspan. My main issue is i am an independent voter, born in 1966, and i was not invited to any of these parties, and near there were my children. My main issue is power. We have amendment 1 coming up for power. It is very important for me to choose my power company. Right now Florida Power and light wants to force me to ruin lives in oklahoma by continuing fracking and pay for that. I would much prefer to pay for solar farms in florida. I want to see the candidates address this horrible issues with the Power Companies not allowing us the freedom of choice. I think it is important that we bring our power bills down. I want to see a candidate that will talk about amendment 1, especially in the senate race. Marco rubio was our house representative, house speaker, he had an opportunity to let the legislature take care of this, and he has completely ignored it. They have ignored it since, like our water amendment they are ignoring. I want the candidates to address this and then i will make my choice. Host ok, laurie. Dr. Macmanus . Guest we had a debate last night, and the environment is a big issue in florida. It was number two in the nielsen Sunshine State survey. The economy jobs are number one, but the environment is number two. People moved to florida because of his environmental assets, springs, lakes, beaches, sunshine, of course. They want to hear candidates talk about the environment and it is especially true of all age groups but the millennials are an environmentally conscious generation. Fracking, we found this is interesting for environmental advocates we found a large portion of floridians didnt exactly know what that term meant. And what, of course, the importance of our survey is to help groups see where people dont have strong opinions and things that need to be addressed. No question about it, the environment is a big issue, climate change. But in our state, most [cheers] mrs. Clinton thank you ]chanting hillary mrs. Clinton thank you so much. I am so excited to be here. I want to thank you. [cheers] i want to give a big shout out with a lot of great people who are working so hard in this campaign. I want to thank evan, that you so much ken. Congress,he congresswoman Debbie Wasserman schultz. Congressman hastings. And your congresswoman, lois frankel. [cheers] i also wonder think sheriff israel for being here. And Mayer Resnick just gave me a key to the city. [cheers] thank my longtime friend and such a great leader, chad griffin. Human Rights Campaign president. Are a chad told me there bunch of human rights are a bunch of human Rights Campaign organizers. [cheers] ice ive said many times, hrc sounds good to me. [cheers] friends, just nine days left until november 8. That really will determine the outcome of the most important election of our lifetimes. We cannot take anyone or anything for granted. At thereat to be here manor complex, a place that means so much to so many. Inre have been ups and downs all we have gone through over the years. And even in this campaign. I want you to know i have focused on one thing, you. Your lives, your futures. The problems they keep you up at night, that is what im interested in and i am going to be talking about here today and throughout the next nine days. That is really what this election is about. There is a lot of noise and distraction but it comes down to what kind of future we want and who as our president can help us get there. I want you to know [cheers] [chanting hillary] mrs. Clinton i just have to say i know im preaching to the choir. [laughter] [cheers] mrs. Clinton i also, through you, want to talk to people who are still making up their minds. Because we have a choice between a president who will bring us together, keep our country safe, get the economy working for everyone, not just those at the top. Someone who is temperamentally unfit and totally unqualified for the job. [booing] mrs. Clinton donald trump is doing his best to confuse, mislead and discourage the American People. He is such a downer, right . And it is time for him to stop fear mongering, stop distracting from what is really at stake. And frankly stop disgracing our democracy. We cant let him get away with it. [cheers] mrs. Clinton here is the good news. America is great and we can make a greater if we Work Together. Seeing americans come together. Democrats, republicans, independents to reject Donald Trumps dark and divisive vision for our country. It is really important that we make it clear to everyone in these last nine days what is at stake. I really believe the vast majority of americans agree with us. We dont want a president who demeans women. We dont want a president with plans to break up and support immigrant families. We dont want a president who perpetrated a lie that president obama was not born in america. We dont want a president who would appoint Supreme Court justices to overturn Marriage Equality. Know thet you to energy we are now seeing in the campaign is not just about what we are against, it is what we are for. We also share a common vision. Beyond partisanship and politics, it is a hopeful, inclusive america where everyone counts and everyone has a place, right . And that is exactly what im going to be fighting for in these last nine days. We are going to honor people, not insult them. Donald trump has insulted more than half of our population. Latinos, mericans, immigrants, muslims, pows, women, and by what he has said, so many others who believe you have a positive future. I agree with that, you do. I promise you this, i will keep working every single day for you. And for the vision of america that we share. [cheers] mrs. Clinton i will tell you, my mom taught me to never ever quit. What does that mean . That means you got it. You got it. It also means when you are not to down, what matters is whether you get up again. [cheers] mrs. Clinton i have been fighting for families and underdogs my entire life. I am not stopping now. We are just getting warmed up. [cheers] mrs. Clinton we wont be distracted, no matter what our opponents throw at us. We are not going to be knocked off course. We know how much this election matters and we know how many people are counting on us. We are going to take to heart the words of our wonderful first lady, michelle obama. When they go low, we go high. [cheers] mrs. Clinton we are going to keep our foot on the gas because Donald Trumps strategy is simple. They even said it in his campaign. Get women to stay home, get young people to stay home, get people of color to stay home, get the Lgbt Community to stay home it is all part of his scorchedearth campaign that goes against everything we stand for. Do you know how we are going to stop him . By showing up with the biggest turnout in american history. [cheers] mrs. Clinton we need everybody to turn out and vote. People, women of color, lgbtq unity, latinos, africanamericans, americans from all walks of life. Lets break every single record. Lets make that the story of this election. [cheers] here is some really good news. This is amazing. More than 20 Million People have already voted in this election. [cheers] mrs. Clinton most of those votes in the last few days, 3 million of those votes from right here in florida. [cheers] see clinton you only numbers like that when people are standing up for what they really believe in. If yourf you vote, friends, your families, your coworkers both, if everyone you talks to votes, we are going to make some really big history on november 8. [cheers] mrs. Clinton i want you not only coming up for me, i want to andect members of congress sent Patrick Murphy back to the senate. If there are still people that have doubts about the state of the election, we have heard some averages things in this campaign. Im sure we will hear more in the next nine days. That beginning to think nothing we learned about donald trump could surprise me anymore. But yesterday the Washington Post the list and report that was truly stunning. It starts with a story of a ribboncutting back in 1996 for a Nursery School serving children living with hiv and aids in new york. Let me say this is important in part to remember, this is a story about children with hiv and aids. There was a big celebration honoring the donors who had supported the Nursery School and all the kids and their families for whom this was the most important thing you can imagine. Back in the 1990s, some of you remember, right . Children were not welcomed in schools. And then unannounced and uninvited, guess who barges in. Donald trump. He walks right up to the stage, he sat down in the seat that was being saved for a local developer who had made a generous donation. None of the people working for the charity knew why he was there. He was not a donor at all. He had never given a single dollar to help build the school. He just wanted people to think he had. So he sat on the stage through the program, even posing for photographs. When it was over he got up and walked out, no explanation, no donation. Who does that . What kind of person does that . Really. Pretend who will pretend to help kids to make themselves look good . I will tell you. The same kind of person who would pull a bait and switch on a High School Chess team. Back in 1997, he was principal for a day at a public school. That was a program we used to have in new york. The chess team is holding a bake sale to raise money to travel to the tournament. They were 5,000 short. He walked up to them and handed them a fake 1 million bill. At first the kids and their parents were excited, and they were devastated to learn it was a joke. A given 200 and drove away in his limousine. This story does have a happy ending. A woman read the story about Donald Trumps they hader, called the school and donated the 5,000. And the coach remembers this to besaying, i am ashamed the same species as this man. [laughter] [cheers] say clinton i have got to any of you see the debates . Trump atext to donald three debates for ford half hours. Four and a half hours, proving i have the stamina to do this job. [cheers] lot of what we heard him say is part of a lifelong pattern. Here is what the Washington Post concludes. For as long as he has been rich and famous he has wanted people to believe he is generous. He spent years constructing an image as a philanthropist by appearing at Charity Events and by making very public, even nationally televised promises to give his money away. It was in large part a big facade. A monthlong investigation by the Washington Post found that had sought credit for charity he had not given or claimed other peoples giving as his own. Because he has refused to release his tax returns we dont even know if hes ever given anything, but here is what we do know. With donald, it is always donald trump first and everyone else last. He games his power, the system and does not left who was holding the bag. Donald trump has a terrible record on lgbt writes. Rights. This election will determine whether we continue to progress we have made or v ripped away. We note from has promised know trump has promised he will appoint justices to overturn Marriage Equality and he will repeal president obamas executive actions to protect lgbt people from discrimination. And just this week a new story came out that tells us a lot about how he treats lgbt employees. It is the story of a maintenance trumps this guy works hard with his hands. Probably there 12 hours a day, maybe more when its the summer season. After he told his coworkers he was gay they started harassing him. They called him names. They even threw rocks and golf falls at him. It got so bad he ended up in the hospital. His supervisor saw all of this and did nothing. Finally he went to the police for help. He was too scared even to come back to work. What did the trump golf course do . They fired him. This is a heartwrenching story on a lot of levels. Painfulters, it is a reminders of the harassment, violence and discrimination too many lgbt Americans Still face every single day. It is deeply disturbing that instead of stepping in to stop this on acceptable behavior, trumps business punish the victim for coming forward. If that is held donald trump runs his business, what does it say about how he will run our country . We have made a lot of progress on lgbt writes. As that story reminds us, we have work ahead, dont wait . Dont we . There is still no federal law that stops an employer from refusing to hire someone because they are lgbt. Or a landlord for refusing to rent an apartment to a transgender tenant. And of course there are still states were you can get married on saturday, poster facebook photos on sunday, and get fired on monday just because of who you are or who you love. Here is what i will do as president. We will call on the congress to pass the equality act. [cheers] [chanting hillary ] mrs. Clinton and we will then be able to protect lgbt americans from discrimination in all aspects of our lives. We will Work Together to achieve the eighthfree generation that is within aidsfree generation within our reach. We will take on homelessness, bullying and violence. Particularly Youth Homelessness which disproportionately hurts lgbt kids. And we are going to end the harmful practice of socalled conversion therapy. [cheers] lgbt kids dont need to be cured of anything, they just need to be accepted and embraced and respected. [cheers] we will bringyes, people together to reform our gun laws and keep guns from falling into the wrong hands so what happened in orlando can never happen again. [cheers] mrs. Clinton some of you know chad griffin, and others know this issue is important to me. I have traveled to 112 countries as the secretary of state. I saw how countries around the world treated lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender people. I believe with all my heart of america has to lead by example. I want lgbt people in every corner of our country, because moved faret you have away from a lot of the places where people are still scared to death. [applause] mrs. Clinton we are going to elevate this issue. We will talk about it. We will reach out. So when you vote in this election it is not just my name on the ballot, it is your future. It is who we are as a country. It is every issue we care about. Make no mistake, lgbt r ights are at stake. Dignity for every american is at stake. The future of our economy is at stake. When the middle class derives, america thrives. We will make america the Clean Energy Superpower of the 21st century. [cheers] if were serious about supporting the middle class, we will be supporting families. The other day i was in pittsburgh. There was a woman there with her young child. We have some folks from pittsburgh. [laughter] mrs. Clinton she was shaking tim kaines hand. Ie said again her hoping could tell you are secretary clinton i had my baby three years ago and the next day i was fired. It has been a difficult pregnancy. I called to ask if i could take a little time to recover in the answer was no, dont come back at all. Nobody, no parent should ever have to make that kind of choice. That is also true when we talk about paid family leave. Caring for a spouse or partner, caring for an elderly relative. I want us to recognize the way we live today. It is no longer the 1950s. We need to support people who are part of committed relationships, of families, of marriages, and give everybody the support you need to actually do what is the most important thing in life. That is caring for each other. We are going to do everything we can to catch up to the rest of the world. Affordable childcare, paid ,amily leave, earned sick days rising income. We will raise the National Minimum wage. No one who works fulltime should have to raise a family in poverty. We will guarantee equal pay for womens work. [cheers] mrs. Clinton we will make sure we not only grow the economy, but make it fairer. That is such a stark contrast with trump. He believes if you give the biggest tax cut to the wealthy, trillions of dollars going to the top that will somehow trickle down. It has not worked. It will not work. I believe we could grow the economy from the middle out in the bottom of. That is exactly what we are going to do. So my friends we have got a guy who will not pay his income tax i got to just say. [laughter] mrs. Clinton when we learned in the debate he lost 1 billion, and that meant he did not pay income tax for 20 years, he said that was smart. I thought to myself, how smart the you have to be to lose 1 billion . [cheers] mrs. Clinton and what kind of genius argue to lose 1 billion for running casinos . [laughter] it is serious because it means he has paid zero for the military, debt, health care, pell grants, our universities, our colleges, our highways. This is trump to a t. The story of him showing up and acting like he has done something, he shows up and criticizes our country. He shows up and discriminates against africanamericans. He denied them the right to rent apartments. He chose to make his products in other countries, not america. He has built a career on stiffing Small Businesses. I think that personally. My dad was a Small Business owner. Im glad he never got a contract from donald trump. My friends we have got work to do. Lets get to that work. We have got to make sure we get everybody out to vote. I want you to be able to say on november 9 you voted for a Better Future, you voted for a better america. [cheers] mrs. Clinton locale easy it is. Look how easy it is. Wilson manor, city hall its just a half a mile down the street from where we are. If you are registered in Broward County you can go to any early vote location and the county from 7 00 a. M. To 7 00 p. M. All week. If you have been mailed your ballot, make sure you fill it out and mail it back today. Iwillvote. Com to confirm your voting place. Also help us these last nine days. Every phone call you make, every door you knock on will make a difference. Go to hillaryclinton. Com. 47246. Oin to i do when anyone waking up on wednesday morning and seeing the results and getting depressed. I am against depression. We dont want that to happen in this election. I dont want people to be said because they did not do their part. We cant let that happen. I have to ask you, if you know anybody who is thinking about voting for trump, you have got to stage an intervention. [cheers] do everything you can to try to convince that person they surely care about something that donald trump is on the wrong side of. I guarantee you they do. After all, france dont let friends vote for trump. Friendsds dont let vote for trump. I am so grateful to all of you. How many of you have already voted . [cheers] mrs. Clinton ok. How many of you will help us get somebody else to vote . [cheers] mrs. Clinton that is what is going to make the difference. Change is coming. Lets make sure its the right kind of change. The choice is yours. We will do everything we can to build a stronger, better, fairerer america fairer america to come together and heal the divides among us. We will prove once and for all that love trumps hate. Thank you. [cheers] i rise up i rise like the day i rise unafraid i rise up you you you you all we need all we need is hope and we have each other and for that we have each other and we will rise we will rise we will rise up will rise revert you and me remember everything we shared when we cared remember remember unity remember loving Neighbors Without accepting favors afraid to make honest mistakes and not let the pain and you can get there anything do you remember at all people walking hand in hand can you remember imagine it all if we only get along we all just sing this song together oh look at me look at you now look at me again were not so different look around at beauty at the things outside her window dreama we were all in deep love is all we need love can sit you free the you remember at all people walking hand in hand imagine it all we can all just get along and we can all this sing this song together oh if we can throw away the hate and live another day they may talk about us they will never stop us it we will keep doing oh do you remember at all people walking handinhand, walking handinhand can we feel that love again can you imagine it all, imagine, yeah if we all could get along then we all could sing this song together oh come on, come on, come on come on, come on, come on, come on, yeah hold your hand with your neighbors together, together oh come on and sing it with me looking at you, baby ohh Hillary Clinton here in florida making her case to voters in the final days before the election. Donald trump is also on the campaign trail over the weekend. Several stops along the way, including an event in las vegas. We will have that later on. As we get closer to the election day, the clinton and Trump Campaigns are trying to sway undecided voters with new put glads. Heres a look at those running new political ads. Here is a look at those running. President obama respect for women is on the ballot. President obama respect for women is on the ballot. Equality is on the ballot. Justice is on the val on the ballot. If you want to send a message, send a message about who we are as the American People. Send a message by voting for Hillary Clinton. I am Hillary Clinton and i approve this message. Behind this glitter lies this stark truth. Under her plan, taxes keep riding rising and terrorism spreads. Americans losing their jobs, homes. In Donald Trumps america, people are put back to work. Our families are safe. The American Dream is achievable again. Change that makes America Great again. Mr. Trump i am donald trump and i approve this message. On election day, november 8, the nation decides the next president and which Party Controls the house and senate. Stay with cspan for coverage of the president ial race, including Campaign Stops with Hillary Clinton, donald trump, and their surrogates. And follow key house and senate races with coverage of their senate races and speeches. Unfoldswhere history daily. Host good morning. Thank you for being with us. We begin with an essay this morning in the new york times. He talks about his native russia and says i know a rigged election. This is not one, saying voter fraud in russia . Your thoughts as we hear the ongoing debate about this most notably from donald trump. Guest i think that comment is generally right and puts it in perspective. We have a decentralized way of running elections. Many states run elections in different ways. It is not as if we have a perfect system. There are issues of integrity. On the whole, our system is generally fair. The problems we have our smaller problems, here and there, administrative problems, things we should work on but not things that point to a fundamental corruption on a large scale. Host lets talk about who is responsible for the election. It really comes to states rights and local communities that organize in community and precinct. We have early voting. Guest that is troop you are we really do not have one election going on in november. We have 51 elections in the states and the district of columbia. Most elections in the world are not like that. Things are the same everywhere. You haveates, different counties with different types of machines. All different rules. Mail or not. Te by some federal rules, but a lot of pushing out host responsibility to the states and the local municipalities. Host should there be host should there be uniform voting . No districts in Congress Cross state lines. Some people worry about an Electoral Commission here in washington that would be perhaps under one administration or another. While there is a messiness to the system, there is no one power that has control over all pieces of the election. Host msnbc looking back on its 20 years on the air and reairing what happened in november 2000, most notably florida, what are from florida, florida, florida, the recount, and also the bush versus gore decision in december 2000 . Guest we have come a long way. We are not a perfect system but a lot of things have changed it our missy machinery has changed. We lose a lot more a lot fewer votes. Today, there are checking mechanisms. Our systems are still not perfect but they are better. The states each have one. Before 2000, only seven states had computerized list of voters. We are moving in the right direction. We are a big decentralized country. Reform does not happen easily but we have made strides in the right direction. The issue of federal observers and locations around the country. Personnelepartment deployed to roughly half of the to see thatll watch elections are conducted fairly and in accordance with federal law. They will gather information on various aspects of local election procedures, including whether voters are treated differently depending on their race or color. Whether they are adequately serving individuals with disabilities, whether they are in complying with the ballot compliance of the help america vote act, and whether they are complaining complying with the voting act requirement to provide materials and assistance in areas of need. As always, our personnel will perform these duties fairly, impartially, and in close cooperation with local Election Officials around the country. The comments of attorney general Loretta Lynch. What specifically will department observers be looking for . Guest we have had a change this because because in previous elections, we had a number of states covered by the Voting Rights act where it was much more direct federal supervision of what went on in those elections. If you wanted to move a polling place in certain states, you needed to get Justice Department approval. That has changed but there still are some observers watching what is going on. There are federal laws that apply to all of our states. But they are not the major player. Most of the administration will go on at the state level and there will be other parties observing as well. A lot of people watching over the election. Host our phone lines are open. If you support donald trump we welcome our listeners on cspan radio. So so much focus on the Republican Party and events in the early 1980s. Explain what this is all about. Guest there were activities that some republicans were involved in in the early 1980s. They involved discouraging people to vote. A variety of practices. Host they look almost comical. Guest there is always a worry some party or another is using tactics like that. Comments of donald trump and some of his staff, at one point, the question whether that was still the case or whether they might be engaging in activities like that. I think it was something of a loose comment. People are generally not to use certain tactics that will discourage people to vote. Our guest has worked with the American Enterprise institute and is a graduate of Georgetown University and earned his doctorate from boston college. Brett is joining us from michigan. Good morning. Caller i remember the last panders wo black panthers standing outside the bowling area with clubs. Came and gotnally them out of there. This politicized Justice Department, they will do anything. The administration has already proven that. As far as hillary, she would be even worse. The Democratic Party is the socialist party of the 21st century. Thank you. Host x for the call. Guest thanks for the call. Been charges, ave some more direct and some less direct. Day, this is the not a common practice. It is up to people to watch for this. One thing we have is that both theies watch parts of process and that is not nonpartisan but bipartisan with both parties looking out for interests. It does cut back on some of the issues. Host from fairfax, virginia, john is on the phone. Supporting a thirdparty candidate. Which one . Caller jill stein. Is ithe reason im calling called and asked you to put on a , the fact that the secretary of states and republican states have been using crosscheck to throw people off of the voting list. Katherine harris in florida, a good president george bush by purging 80,000 legitimate workers, which would have turned. He election there are one Million People who will be purged by corrupt republican secretaries of state, claiming that they are voting twice because they have similar names to people who live in other they have similar names to people who live in other states. I believe this is a very important subject that needs to be addressed. The American People need to know they can still lose the election through fraud by secretaries of state who should be allowed to vote and will not be allowed to vote because they are black or mexicanamerican and have similar names to each other. Thank you. Host we will get a response. Referring caller is to two things. We have to keep the voter list uptodate and we want to check that people are still eligible, that they have the right addresses, change states, or died, change their names, all the things going on. The American Public is very mobile. The second thing is that we do not have won National Voting list. We have 50 lists. We have come to the point now where the states can talk to each other a bit. Informal orme smaller efforts where the state share data across the states. Has smith in one state moved to another state. In general, i think that is a good development. They can have a more active list. People at the polls might show up and find rung addresses or people show up who do not belong there. There are strong rules as to how states can take off voters from the voter list. It is not as simple as finding someone moves to another state. It is waiting several election is thenefore the person deemed not to be at the address or taken off the list. It is not a perfect system, and states would do better to follow the rules, but i think we are actually in a much better place than we were back in bush versus gore to get the list more accurate. Going forward, that is what we want. Ont how do you explain was the donald trump website . Asking you to fill out your name, email a just, phone number, and where you live. What is this all about . Guest trump might be encouraging people to informally go and cause trouble. There is really not a place for people to get beyond a certain radius of a polling place, but there are formal observers that each party and candidate can have at a polling place. In most parts of america, you have a democratic or sometimes another party, they are watching for issues that go on. They are not able to intervene and tell administrators of the buts what to do always, they can sometimes raise it at the state or county level. It is part of our process for watching the election. The government will not be everywhere but there will be parties watching each other to see if there are problems they can race to another level. Robert fromgo to pennsylvania, supporter of Hillary Clinton. Good sunday morning. Thank you for being with us and john fortier. Caller my question is i do not understand why we allow early early voting almost a month ahead of the general election itself. Why if theyerstand want to have early voting, it is not unlike a week before. I feel giving too much time between the early votes and the general election itself, it toes them too much time smooth things out and monkeying around. I also do not believe we want donald trump in office. I have had dealings with this man and i know his personality. He is not for little business. Never once have i heard one of the candidates say anything about the poor. If you have corporations running the country, they are interested in one thing, themselves and the bottom line. They do not care about the people. They are all greedy power hungry idiots. That is all i have to say. Host robert, pennsylvania. Guest in a lot of states we have early voting. We have a lot of voting by mail, some call it absentee ballots. 100 shington and oregon, of the vote is done by mail. I wrote a book about this. It has grown since. 40 of probably see americans voting before election day. The one about the length of time, it is not clear that two weeks is better than one week. It depends on the sites you have, the hours you have. If you vote that early, you might vote before the last debate, lastminute revelations. There are arguments against it, but it is a trend we have been dramatically in america. Host says this is from donna who says agreed, make voting a week long. Longersome states have voteds, where you can just at the clerks office, it is not clear that 30 or 40 days of early voting is going to bring more people to voting places. The exact amount of time, we can argue about. I am not convinced they longer voting. Is going to do much for turnout. Why tuesday . Why not sunday, saturday, or make it a National Holiday . Tuesday is historical. Tuesday was market day, a day when people would go to town. If you give people the opportunity to vote on the weekend and other days, you cover a lot. As for the holiday, it is not necessarily better for turnout. Sometimes they go away. Who would turn you out or also not there on a holiday. I think the tuesday is not problematic if you have an outlet where people have other options. Host do some states or precincts have a bigger issue with faulty registrations . Our system of registration is variable. It has improved. Before 2000, many states did not have a consolidated voter list at state level. It was at the county level. Range from 4 million voters like l. A. County, to small towns in new england that have 100 voters. The administration is very different. States get the lists and are able to check. It does not mean it is the same from one state to another. Host a tweet saying my polling place was packed. Texas, hawkings, supporting donald trump. Caller i am voting for donald trump, the reason is, i am voting for mike pence. I cannot vote for a person who looks at a family and blatantly lies. That is my comment. About the crowded polling place. If they make it a holiday, you can see it is another holiday for a mattress sale. President obama, after the 2012 election raise the issue of long lines that had taken place. A commission and others to look at these things. Most people dont says lines. We dont know enough about it. At this point, we have a lot of evidence and data. Some states suffer. He state of florida we need to know more about this. Part of the recommendations were to do a lot of things to fix the causes of lines. There are a lot of reasons for these things. We dont understand these things. Jan responded. I voted in my township. Outside of chicago. A Big Senate Race in illinois. Ipartisan that the b policy center. I support hillary. I have already voted for her. I want to make it clear i was a bernie fan. I believe in his revolution. That is not the point i am calling on. Job. Eysegarding keep in mind he is a republican. Job, in a nonrepublican is in the, his job front of the line, whether a republican gets in or a democrat gets in. He is a holdover from the bush administration, which obama decided he wanted to keep on. Hillary could keep him on as well. Trump shouldan, if get in, trump could keep them as well. We are here to talk about the legitimacy of elections, but do you think, based on what cast a clouds it on the results, regardless of what happens on november 8 . Caller absolutely, it does. You got republicans out with their talking point. You have them with more information. They should be careful of what they wish for. Guest there is more to the election. Just to bring it back to the running of elections, one thing people might feel comfort in, we have these states having elections and not one central peles one Central Place holding an election. It might be something one side or the other might take objection two. The another part of debate, voting from your home computer. Will we see that down the road . Guest it is far down the road or not at all. Some people want to do this. There are cases of high lit have made the we effort to make it easy for people who have a hard time to vote to vote that way. There are Strong Security concerns. Theyof the Community Think are not quite ready. There are general privacy concerns any time you leave the polling place. We are not sure someone does not have power over you or there is problem transmitting the ballot back to the polling place. One thing we did was give everybody a secret ballot, the right to vote behind a secret curtain. We lose some of the protections we try to put in. We lose some of the protections we try to put in. Host with the early voting, are they counted now or after the closing . Guest they are counted after the polls close. They are not actually counted until the polls close. We are doing so much voting by provisionale these ballots, we are not seeing the result coming up quite as quickly as before. States like california are taking a month to certify their elections. And we are in some place that is a lot of vote by mail, it takes a lot of time to count the ballots. Host when we hear the pundits talk about the absentee ballots, a Record Number of ballots sent in, they assume you are voting based on your Party Affiliation. Guest they are. There is a correlation between Party Affiliation voting area we have to be cautious. One party may, push their voters to the poll early and use that as a strategy. On election day, the republicans will come out and vice versa. I dont think these systems have terms of one or another. Grundy, virginia. James, you are next area and caller i would like to thank you for the job you are doing. One of my lessons for him is, on that electronic, do they have a way of having a copy of that to go back later and read town it . Does george soros the company that makes Voting Machines . The georgee take soros question. It has been debunked. It is a story you can check out at washington knows race post. Com. Washingtonpost. Com. Guest we have two systems today. One looks like an atm machine. The other, it looks like a standardized test, where you feel were you fill out a piece of paper and put it through a scanner. There have been questions about the electronic Voting Machines and whether there should be a backup. Is there a paper trail back up . There are still some places that do that. Some places dont. It is still of some controversy. That may be annk outside force by hacking could get at many thousands of votes or millions of votes from afar. Some Security Issues, but these machines are standalone machines. Would have to break into them or change the software beforehand. It is not something an outside force could go and flip lots of votes. Host lets go to joe. You are next. Voting in terms of early and the signal sent out by the campaigns, do you think this is something that can have a negative impact on the results or influence the results in the end . Most cases, we have most people voting closer to election day. We dont see lots of people voting to were three weeks before the election, although the number is growing area i worry in the extreme cases. Sometimes voters that cast a ballot in the states where the candidate had are ready dropped out and those modes have been counted. There is nothing that could be done about it. There is something about the fact that early voting can be problematic. Even with the early voting we are doing, a lot is eating done in the two weeks before the election, not much further. Candidates or Campaign Staffers can be in the room, or party officials, to observe the vote count. Guest they almost always are. Under lockameras and and key, these ballots, when they are not there. There will be watchers. There are different rules about how they might process of actions. They can be there to watch and offer objections they consider offer objections that can be considered. Caller good morning. I have a couple of small questions. Are we going to have protesters at the polls like the black panthers did to intimidate the voters or are they going to be , i feelare going to try they are, to do the same thing they did in the last president ial election. Are they going to be arrested if they do that . , whatrly voting questions absenteeerned about, voting, is military people. Ballots should be automatically we have in people our military overseas. If they dont come back in time for election day, the count should be held until they are all in. Has abody in the world right to vote, it is our military. Guest the issue of protesters, at every polling station in different states have widely different rules. Radius you cannot go beyond as a nonvoter. For yournt to advocate candidate or be around the polls, you cannot go within that realm. They will have to deal with these issues with local police and some issues may have to be raised at a higher level. It is something we try to take care of. The second question is about the military and how we treat them. Military voters, those overseas have a harder time voting. We have made Great Strides in this direction. We send out the ballots 45 days before the election before those who request them. Some states had late primaries. We try to get to them early. Many states have creative ways of getting ballots to people overseas. There are electronic delivery systems. I have more concern about the states that allow things to be faxed in or sent back by email. We should do all we can to help our military voters. Is much improved. A better place in terms of getting the military votes. Host this question from another voter. Another reviewer. Are the ballots actually counted in the final results or are they included only if the results can influence final results . Guest they are always counted. Someot have had states require the absentee ballots to be in by election day. Others have a postmark requirement. Ultimately, when a state says we have certified this election, they will have counted all of the ballots. Absentee ballots will always be counted. Caller i have a few comments. I have worked for the Democratic Party outside the election office. I have worked with republicans who are my neighbors. Even though we support different parties, we got along cordially, we shared meals, made jokes. There was a lot of integrity in terms of voting. The thing i find troubling this year is that a candidate can incite violence in the people supporting them and that is not a good thing. Only thing that bothers me about this election. Who is supposed to win this election is going to win this election. Start looking out for this country and ourselves and the integrity of our people. We allow people, rely on people like you and counterparts from the other party, to be at the polling place. It is done by volunteers. It is a Public Service. There is a lot of controversy in the comments about whether the election is rigged or not. Questionslegitimate about the Election Integrity and trying to improve our systems that we have more integrity. I think our system is generally fair and our problems are small. The idea of a mass scale rigging of an election is hard to imagine. John, rhode island. Who are you supporting . Caller im not sure yet. I cant believe these are the two candidates. I am depressed over a. Over it. I think our two candidates are proof of rigging. I see all the time the 1 . Mh look bad. The 1 verseany of. I dont like people trying to get to that point in life. Live really well. The people who do not in the country is who we should he looking for. I am glad you liked this suit. 199 for the suit. Under 200. I would never pay more than that. Do you want to comment . No. T my suit is not much more expensive, either. Waynesboro, virginia. Complementanted to the voting system. Ive voted in virginia, absentee ballot, and i loved the way i did it. I chilled out a form and slipped it into a machine and that is the same way i did it when i voted in the primaries. I have no complaints about the is thatvoting system up. It is wonderful. Thank you very much, god bless america. Host thank you for the call. This tweet, saying how much does the election process cost taxpayers . Guest we do not have a number. The costs are spread out. Its a polling place where the school gives you a free place to vote, should that be counted againstother place another place that has to buy or rent a polling place . We have a lot of volunteers. Most ofed to these elections are funded by state and local government. There was only one confusion of federal money. Often in a community, other local needs are seen as more important than voting. We will see some of that coming live every day with news and policy issues that impact you. Coming up monday morning, Fox News Contributor will join us to discuss the latest news from the 2016 campaign trail, including the Foreign Policy vision donald trump. Im proud to be an american where at least i know im free trump thank you, everybody. Applause]d mr. Trump this is a record crowd. I want to thank the great owner of the hotel. And his incredible life. She is an incredible woman. Sheldon. Really incredible people. They have been so supportive and we appreciate it here we appreciate it very much. Greatone of our supporters here tonight. We love phil. We are doing great in the polls and were winning Many National polls. We are ahead in many states. State andyour great North Carolina and ohio and florida and iowa and so many others. A you know, these polls came out yesterday and today. This was before the blowup on friday. We are on the cusp of a really incredible transfer of power from a failed political establishment, and return that families,ur communities, and citizens. In nine days, we are going to win the state of nevada. Nevada. The state of nevada, right . Everybody in new york says at the other way. I did that once and i will never do it again, believe me. But we are going to win the state of nevada and we going to win back the white house. Early voting is underway so make sure you get to the polls. Who has voted . 50 . Is like if anyone wants to leave right now, go ahead and i will not be insulted. Plenty of people outside want to take your place, ok . Make sure you vote because otherwise this Incredible Movement that we have created andther, we wont get there that will be very bad for all the us. It will be bad for the country. Willrump administration will immediately repeal and replace obamacare. It has just been announced that the citizens will experience a i do not want to tell you the number. I wont because you will walk out depressed. Doubledigit hike in their obamacare premiums for the year. Ooing] 16 trump 10 of nevadas counties will have only obamacare, you will have one to choose from. There they are in a very good position to negotiate. We will get rid of it and have health care that is so good and so much less expensive. Obamacare, forgetting about the ridiculous cost, it is no good and it does not work. Your deductibles are so high, you will never use it. Obamacare is a catastrophe for your state. With a premium increase, close to 60 , the democratic governor has said the Affordable Care act is no longer affordable. Double clinton wants to down on obamacare and make it even more expensive. Much more expensive. My contract with the American Voter outlines a plan to repeal and replace obamacare. Im asking for your vote so we can Save Health Care for every family in your state and the country. Change also means getting rid of the corruption in washington p or you have seen a little corruption, right . The system is rigged. It is rigged. It just was announced the fbi is reopening their investigation into the criminal and illegal contact conduct of Hillary Clinton. Hillary has nobody but herself mounting legalr problems. Deliberate, intentional, and purposeful. Hillary set up an illegal server with the obvious purpose of. Hielding conduct she set up the server knowing our well the actions put National Security at risk and put the safety and security of your children at risk. Crimes, sheher deleted 33,000 emails after receiving a congressional subpoena. After, after, after, after she gets a subpoena and she deletes and bleaches and nobody even ever heard of bleaching. Did anybody ever hear of bleaching . Such an expensive process. I have a feeling they just found a lot of them, dont you think . They just found a lot of them. We never thought we were going to say thank you to anthony weiner. [applause] she lied to congress under oath. She lied to the ei many times. Then two boxes of email evidence just recently went mysteriously missing. Then we have Wikileaks Revelations which exposed criminal corruption at the highest level of government. If she ever did get the chance, which we will not let her have, she took the overall oval office up for sale also, you have no doubt about that. Reported that the department of justice is. Ighting the fbi that is because the department of justice is trying so hard to protect Hillary Clinton. [booing] the attorney general violated sanctity of law by secretly , theng with bill clinton husband of a possible target of the investigation and a possible target himself, in an airplane on the tarmac in arizona. [booing] remember, he was going to play golf but he just happened to be at the airport hanging around and the attorney generals plane drove by and he said oh, yes, lets say hello. Lets say hello. It was a chance meeting, they said. The meeting lasted 39 minutes and they supposedly talked about golf . And grandchildren. I give two minutes to golf and five minutes to grandchildren. What they probably really talked about is the attorney generals redeployment should Hillary Clinton become president which i think think will happen. The attorney general took putelf out of the case and director comey in charge of making decisions p are you saw that. Why she now allowed to fight so hard to give someone who is so obviously guilty on so many different fronts off the hook . Reported thaty sources, close to Hillary Clinton, and she actually said it to the papers, that she was thinking of reappointing attorney general lynch [booing] she said it. It was a statement she made. Effectively, they called that a bribe. Youre talking about you are going to reappoint . She said it publicly, unbelief. When i heard it, i found it a little hard to believe she would say that. Is what we mean when we say the system is rigged. It is rigged. What makes usit is rigged. Exceptional is we are a nation of laws and we are all equal under those laws. Hillarys corruption threads the principles. When they can get away with anything because they have the money and connections to rig the system, the people lose hope and confidence in the future of their country. Corruption is corrosive to the soul of a democracy and it must be stopped. And we are going to stop it. [cheering and applause] mr. Trump because we have one check on hillarys corruption. That is the power of the vote. The power of the vote. Beat theway to corruption is show up and vote by the tens of millions, including millions of people voting for the first time in their lives. There was a great guy on television i have to tell you about. Miller from sitting texas. They know sit miller. We create yet another star. He was on fox this morning. He said you know, the new yorkers have it all wrong. You that havent all wrong. He is from texas wearing a big white hat. A smart guy. He said in texas, i kept reading that we are even. I said well, i dont think so, because i see the enthusiasm, but he said i have got to tell you, we have more people voting now that we have ever ever had in an election. They are all coming from all over. Have neverople we seen before and they have never voted before, they have not voted for 20 years, and they are all voting for trump. He said when i listen to these guys, talking, and i know everyone of them. I tell you what, these are the most dishonest human beings. [booing] for instance, when we tell them to turn the cameras to show this incredible record crowd, record for this ballroom. This is the record for the ballroom, sheldon told me that himself. [cheers] mr. Trump record. They do not show it to you are wasting your time. They dont show it. Because they are dishonest because they do not want to show the crowds we get. The biggest ever in the history of the country. There has never been a Movement Like this and they do not want to show it. We will go into it in a couple of seconds. But they are very dishonest. The media is very, very dishonest. Show the crowd. Why dont you show the crowd . Turn the cameras. [booing] mr. Trump a couple of them get up and say, donald trump spoke today before a small crowd. It is disgusting. The other day, a man got up and we had 17,000 people. He said donald trump spoke in front of a few thousand people. A few thousand means three. That is the way i grew up. That sort of means to me like three. Anyway. Very dishonest people. Sit miller said we have never had anything like this. It is 50 higher than it has ever been before in texas. [applause] mr. Trump he said were going to win. He said so i dont know what you people are talking about on television where they are saying the road in taxes will be very close. He said i dont know what you people are talking about. You must be talking about a different texas than the one im talking about. We love the people of texas and you know what else . The same thing is happening in florida. The same thing is happening in North Carolina. It is happening all over. People are sick and tired of. Tupidity and deals look at the iran deal. They are sick and tired of the iran deal. They do not want to be giving iran 1. 7 billion in cash. [booing] it would be from here up to the ceiling. Want to remember three weeks ago, they had 800 people they were ready to support. You saw this. They had them. Anybody who gets deported from the country, believe me they have to be tough. A little mistake. Instead of deporting them, they all became United States citizens. I will tell you that is not the worst of it. It was not a hundred people. It was 1800 people, ok . Congratulations. You have a new citizens of the country. Ok, fix theat is problem, fix it. They said, that would not be constitutional. Give me a break all right. So we are stuck. 1. 7 billion in cash to iran. Can you imagine their eyes when they saw the money brought in by trump. That is a lot a lot of money. 1. 7 billion dollars in cash. People. E those instead of saying, you are in our waters and you have got to come over little bit, they humiliate the sailors and the country and they would have kept them. The 150 billion payment started the next day. Ok . Stupid, they are not. People are sick and tired of it. I was on the other side for a long time. I understand very well. It is a good life. But i love this country. I love the people of this country. And we are going to change it. We will do it right. [cheers and applause] go out and vote with all your heart and soul and we are going to make America Great again. Restoring honesty to our government and the rule of my contract begins with a plan to end government corruption. I want the entire corrupt washington establishment to hear heed. We are going to washington dc and we are going to drain the swamp. [applause] i told people other day i said, i other day, dont love that expression. It is so hokey. And all of a sudden i said, i hate to use this it doesnt work right . Ago two bigo weeks crowd and then the place went crazy. And then i set it a second time in the place went crazy. And then like you they started saying it before i said it. Decided if a sudden i love that expression. Crazy, right . Drain the swamp, drain the swamp, drain the swamp, drain the swamp. Drain the swamp] you. Rump thank you know a man who loved las vegas was frank sinatra. When he originally heard and saying my way, how do we like my way . Hedidnt like it, but then sang in a couple of times and it went to number one. Thats how it goes. At the core of my contract is the plan to bring back our jobs. American 70 million women and children live in poverty or near the brink of poverty. 43 of africanamerican schoolaged children are living in poverty. Are hispanic schoolaged children living in poverty. This is unacceptable in our country, unacceptable in america. I will go into the communities and work on a National Plan for revitalization. Break decades of failure and prove that real change is possible if we simply cut our ties with the failed politicians and politics of the best. America has lost one third of its manufacturing jobs since bill clinton signed nafta. [booing] and hillary loved it. And america i thought it was a typo, i thought it was 700 factories or 7000. Lost 70 thousand factories since china entered the world trade organization. Another bill and hillary back to deal. We are living through the greatest job theft in our history of the world. All because our politicians are haver incompetent or they gotten so much Campaign Contributions or other things. We are getting wiped out. You go to michigan, you go to new england, you look to areas around here, it is a one lane highway into new mexico, no way out. Jobs, they get the money, they get the plans. Thats what he does, thats all he wants to do. It is unbelievable. Mexico it is the seventh wonder of the world. Things, folks. Ge our administration will stop the horrible transpacific partnership. Wewill renegotiate nafta and will stand up to chinas currency manipulation. Relationships with china, but what they do to our country is unbelievable. Think of this, we have a trade deficit with china. Almost 500 billion per year. They come in, they take our jobs, they make a fortune, and we go them 1. 5 trillion today. I have made a lot of money with china. The biggest bank in the world as a tenant of mine in manhattan from china. I own the bank of america building. San francisco got it through china, through a certain very complicated route. Lower taxes on American Business from 35 to 15 . Taxes forng to cut middleclass families by hundreds of billions of dollars per year. And my infrastructure plan will help for projects like the proposed interstate 11 here. We will become a rich nation again. We will become a rich country. And we have to be a rich country in order to do what we have to do. A woman came up to me recently and said you sound so crass when you say we are going to be a rich nation, but i say we have no choice. We need our Social Security, we need our medicare, we need our military. Make sure that shes ok. Some of these people have been here for eight hours. Take your time. Take your time. Maybe we can open that gate up. If we have we should. Yet a. Look at her. Are you ok . Shes tougher than all of us, she has been here for eight hours. We have strong people. Did you see where the Democratic National committee, did you see this . The rally where they are supposed to have these fights, and i dont understand i said who is fighting . There is so much love in these rooms. There is no better place to be than a trump rally. I said what is going on. Chicago where in the police have gashes in their head. It came out through wikileaks that we have thugs, who should be put in jail, they were paying thugs Hillary Clinton was each, plus an1500 iphone. And they were paying these thugs to go in and disturb our rallies and get into fights. By awas on a tape made very talented young man. Tape braggingn a about how they did it. And everybody blames me and they blamed us, that the for that the rallies are violent. It is a disgrace, it is such a disgrace. And lots of other things happened where they take care of people, and then bad things. But we dont fall for it. To be a rich country we must also be a safe country. We will support local police and federal Law Enforcement in an effort to reduce surging crime. So far this year in las vegas. Homicides have increased 27 over last year. By the way people dont know this because the Dishonest Media will never say it. 45 think are up of it, you know what it is . Right now the rates are the highest the murder rates. The highest they have been in 45 years. And they dont want to talk about it. They dont want to talk about it. The gate, let her out right here, so much easier. Open the gate, use your heads. Out let her out right here. Will we take her back . Yes. Thank you. Latinos for trump, i love that, give me that sign. [chanting trump] mexico. [applause] im a latino for trump and im very proud to vote for mr. Trump, because he is for law and order. And he believes it. He wants things to be right. Thisave to come into country legally. You cant just come in here and costs illegal people billion per year. That money should be for americans and veterans. Mr. Trump i learned this from you. Mr. Trump thats great. Neverbetter than me, i did it that well. So well withto do the latinos. But we are going to do so well because we want security we want safety. Jobs takenant their away. But i appreciate that. We will also keep our nations. Thank you very much. We have to keep our nations safe from a thing called terrorism. Hillary clinton to increase Syrian Refugees pouring into our country by 550 . Is over the thousands coming in under obama. We will suspend the syrian refugee program. We will keep radical islamic out of our country. We are going to work to build safe havens. We dont have to pay for it they have plenty of money. They will pay for it. We have to help the people. Day great trojan horse. Administration will secure and defend the borders of the United States. Yes we will build a wall. [applause] [chanting build the wall] mr. Trump sheldon, you have a great hotel but we could have made this forum a little bit larger, maybe. We have the legendary phil from las vegas. Get him over here, he employs thousands of people. Hillary has pledged open borders. Our government refuses to do its job. Shot and paralyzed by an illegal immigrant, he fought for his life at the hospital for 17 days. Ultimately he died. He was a basketball star loved by everybody with dreams of becoming a firefighter right here. In 2009. s day a beautiful person. Rene was outdrive thing looking for a job when he was shot in the head and murdered by a previously deported illegal immigrant gang member. Everybody said we must get him out of the country, we must incarcerate them. A Good Samaritan who thought there had been a car accident stopped to help. And he was also shot. Immigrant had a previous conviction as an accessory to murder. And he had a record as long as your arm. But the Obama Administration didnt want to put it didnt want to put it out. Josh, a student in the high spring tortured and tortured and beaten to death, and then his body was set on fire. There are so many of these stories. And itime wave will end will end very quickly. We will deport all criminal illegal immigrants. Locale great thing, our police know who they are. When hillary brought them out and bring them back to their country, the country intelligently wouldnt take them. So she would always let them come back. She didnt want to make waves. That will never happen once, not once with me. The Border Patrol agents of this country, and i spoke of them, they never endorsed a candidate for president before, both groups endorsed donald trump. We will also repeal the obama defense sequester and repeal our badly depleted military. We have the endorsements of over 200 admirals and generals. And 22 medal of honor recipients. I want to think the general for being here. Our air forces the smallest and oldest in history. Plan calls for building new fighter jets. Did you ever see where our fighter jets are so old that we cant get hearts anymore . Get parts anymore . They buy them from us or they take them. We also need a new floor in policy America First again. Hillary at our failed washington establishment had spent 6 trillion on wars in the middle east. All of that money, all of those lives. Of 10, theytor drank this into our and wars, they made it less safe. We dont win a trade, we dont win at wars. We left our borders wide open at and shipped their jobs and wealth to other countries. To others i say it is i say it is time now for real leadership. We are going to have real leadership. [chanting trump] mr. Trump thank you. In closing just think what we can accomplish in the first 100 days of a trump administration. Going to have the biggest tax cut since ronald reagan. We will eliminate every unnecessary job killing regulation. We will cancel every illegal obama executive order. By the way Hillary Clinton, she wants to raise your taxes substantially. She wants to raise your taxes substantially. Going to be are once andper care of for all. Who we are going to provide School Choice and put an end to the common core so we can bring. Ur education we will save the second amendment, which is under siege. And we will appoint justices to the United States Supreme Court who will uphold and defend the constitution of the United States. Americans are tired of being told by politicians they have to defer their dreams to another day. Reallyeally me mean to further dreams to another decade. Been there for 30 years and she has accomplished nothing. She has just made things worse. She is a candidate of yesterday. Speaking of the future, here is mr. Phil ruffin, one of the great people of las vegas. Dony people do you up you employ in las vegas . He employs 4000 people, thats pretty good. Im a little disappointed, i thought it was more. We are asking for the votes of republicans and democrats. And firsttime voters, there is going to be a lot of that. Are fighting for every citizen who believes government should serve the people, not the donors and the special interests. We are fighting to unlock the potential of every American Committee and every American Family that hopes and prays and yearns for a Better Future for their children. Im asking you to dream big again. [applause] with your vote we are just nine days away from the change you have been waiting for your entire life. And you are going to remember this day and you are going to remember when you cast your vote. And this was a very important day. Cast us the you most important vote you ever cast. We are going to start winning again. And hopefully you will be proud of your president. To death together we will make america wealthy again, we will make america strong again, we will make america safe again, and we will make America Great again. Thank you very much. God bless you. Thank you. [applause] can talways get what you cant always get what you want playing] been our road to the white house coverage continues in these days leading up to the election.
