The Congressional Budget Office led by a director who was handpicked by the Current Health and Human Services secretary tom price just issued its new report on trumpcare. Pcareeport makes clear trum would be a cancer on the American Health care system causing costs skyrocket, making coverage unaffordable for those with preexisting conditions and many seniors and taking millions of Health Insurance. Unless you are a healthy millionaire, trumpcare is a nightmare. This report should be the final nail in the coffin of the republican effort to sabotage our Health Care System. Republicans in washington and the president should read this report cover to cover, throw their bill in the trashcan and the guilt working with democrats on a real plan to lower cost for the american people. There is a lot to unpack, ill just focus on a few provisions. First, costs. The report makes clear your premiums are heading up for the next several years if trumpcare passes. 20 increases in 2018, 5 the following year. Republicans are crowing about premiums going down. Thats because the coverage is so bad, of course the premiums go down. What you get almost no coverage. Cheaper insurance wont help anyone if it doesnt actually cover you when you are ill. If you are an older american, trumpcare will force you to picture pennies to afford health care at all. Seniors could see their premiums go up by as much as 800 under this bill. Preexisting conditions, the cbo, a direct quote from tom people who are less healthy would ultimately be unable to purchase comprehensive Nongroup Health Insurance at premiums comparable to those under current law if they could purchase it at all. The socalled fix, which some of the moderates in the house bought into, doesnt make preexisting conditions any easier or any better. Think about that for a minute. Under trumpcare if you have a preexisting condition or your costsor Health Insurance could go up so high you cant afford it at all. The nonpartisan scorekeepers have spoken loudly and clearly. Costs andmeans higher less care for the american people. As long as the wealthiest get the tax breaks and President Trump gets his partisan political win they are fine. Those are the principles families are rejecting. And Senate Republicans should know until they do as well by dropping repeal in their partisan efforts to sabotage the Health Care System in ways that hurt families and raises costs, they are standing squarely in the way of Real Solutions to problems far too many people across the country are facing when it comes to their health care. It is not a Health Care Bill when you force Older Workers to pay up to four times more for health care that they currently get. Call it whatever you want but please dont call it a Health Care Bill. This is legislation that billion iner 200 tax breaks to the wealthiest 2 . It provides hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks for the Insurance Companies, the Drug Companies and other people in the medical industry. Together and come improve the Affordable Care act. That means lower deductibles, lower payments, lower Prescription Drug costs. Our job is to pass a Health Care Bill, not to throw millions of people off the Health Insurance they currently have. Let me guarantee you that the Senate Republicans are using the house bill as a foundation for the product that they are constructing. The cbo score is important and relevant because the senate product, if it ever emerges from the secret meetings, will simply be a variant of the house bill. Why . In the end they want a bill theyd, and they know if truly were to start over they could not reconcile the products. So this cbo score is directly relevant to the secret negotiations because i can guarantee you the Senate Republicans are using the house product as a foundation for their negotiation. Second, one of the most important things this cbo score says is these high risk pools that the house conceived do not work. Agocbo score released hours says that he if you are an individual with a preexisting condition in a state that uses the waiver, you will not be able to buy insurance. This whole idea that the house had set up a separate way to deal with people with preexisting conditions is now exposed as a fiction by cbo. If you are sick, if you have ever been sick in his country, you are now at risk of losing your health care. That is plainly what cbo says. Questions to any of us . Where do you think the are likely to fail in their reconciliation . Theyre having big trouble getting 50 vote for anything because their fundamental foundation is wrong, which is simply to take huge tax breaks for the rich as payment for cutting Peoples Health care. And so, it is very hard for them when they promise to make things better, to put together a bill when to start off with a overation, you must suck 250 billion dollars out for tax cuts for the rich and it leads to higher premiums, less health care, and they are just stuck. Any building come out with. The reason they rush it through in the house without a cbo score is a new they would be embarrassed by the score that came out today. The reason Mitch Mcconnell is talking about doing the same thing, no hearings, no amendments, is because they will be embarrassed by the similar product that will come out. I speak is the ranking the budgetmember of committee. The Health Committee is required to save at least 1 billion. It is very possible that the new bill does not meet that basic requirement because of the high risk pool and stabilization amendments that were added to the bill. It is possible that that bill may cost the Health Committee some 20 billion, rather than one billion. If that is the case, reconciliation we dont know yet but there is a real possibility that it just doesnt meet reconciliation. That means the house has to come back with a new bill and vote again. Doesnt work. Under obamacare there had premiumple digit increases, many doubledigit increases. This cannot all be attributed to the republican administration. The democrats to this point have not released any concrete proposals on how they would seek to fix the issues with the law that have existed. Will we see anything in the coming weeks . Number one, the number one reason that things are getting that people, Insurance Companies are leaving is described in one word sabotage.
