I apologize and i hope those affected will be feel proud of the veteran community that has done so much to keep our country safe. I had meetings in addition to my duties in this house. I will have further such meetings later today. I share myself with the remarks. And inzed in this country for men under the age of 50 and women under the age of 35, this is the biggest killer. When i worked for the secretary of health, i committed to them that the government would publish a comprehensive across the departmental Suicide Prevention strategy and that was a year ago and still no strategy. I know the Prime Minister cares about this issue as i do and discussed it many times and can i ask if he would commit his government of publishing within days of parliaments return after the summer recess. Prime minister sunak i know my honorable brother was in pain. We are actively addressing Suicide Prevention strategy and rolling out the 100 suicide but i can tell him that we will publish the new Suicide Prevention strategy later this year. Mr. Speaker, the government was proud to repeal the ban against lgbtqplus people serving in our armed forces and we welcome this apology from the Prime Minister as recognition of the historic mistreatment. Mr. Speaker, my constituent ken wright was an r. A. F. Servicemen forced to leave the job he loved because he was gay. I am delighted he is here to witness this apology. And while he cannot right the wrongs of the past the government should work on the meedmon ton review. Its with lgbtqplus veterans deserve. Mr. Speaker, i know the whole house will sign our best wishes as they start the welcomed campaign and hope they continue the brilliant success. Mr. Speaker, when the Prime Minister took office nine months ago, the waiting has had 7. 2 million people. Whats the number today . Mr. Speake r, the reason the waiting list is higher today after being stable for the first few months is very simple and that the n. H. S. Has been disrupted by your inaction. We put plans in place to bring down the waiting list in primary carrier and ambulancees and we are working and will continue to work but we do need to end the election if he cares about bringing it down, does he agree that doctors should accept the pay scale that the government offers them . Mr. Speaker. The more you stop asking me questions, the more im going to keep him here. Mr. Speaker, im sure the whole house is pleased by his presence today. When he is not here [indiscernible] it means since he stepped foot into downing street people have been waiting for things like hip and knee replacements. Why after nine months dozens of gimmicks and broken promises his government is seeing more patients than ever before . Mr. Speaker, again, i dont think we heard an answer to the question. Yp arent you holding proceedings . Its very simple. Has the honorable gentleman looked at what we have seen is that our plans are beginning to work, down to half an hour. And making huge progress. Now all those things, all the funding and extra planses and extra discharge are starting to make a difference all held up by industrial accidents in the n. H. S. Does he want to give people the health care he wants will he agree that those doctors should accept the recommendations of the pay review body . It will be a bad time. Six weeks. His opposition questions. Mr. Speaker, i think his time away has for gotten how this works. He talks about this plan. [indiscernible] this may be the last one before recess, if you really want to take and go that way it will be tempting but think long and hard before you do. He talks about his plan. He doesnt need to lecture me on that. He meant it from labour. Same old story. They messed up the n. H. S. And asked the labour to fix it. The difference is, he hasnt said how he is going to pay for his work force plan. Now his chance. Wheres the money coming from . Mr. Speaker, not only is the n. H. S. Plan fully funded, it was welcomed by 43n. H. S. Stakeholders. He tawpgd about our plan making a difference. All plans that will put 800 more planses on the road. Emergency medicine described it as significant and will improve conditions. What have we seen . The best in two years, mr. Speaker. While, mr. Speaker, the n. H. S. Was the worst waiting time in wales, mr. Speaker. I never seen the chart more bewildered. Its been a year with their unfunding spending commitment. Is it spending coming from tax writers or just the latest poor from the torys magic money tree . Mr. Speake r, the plan is fully funded but i am pleased he is now interested in fiscal responsibility and that is very welcome because when there is an opportunity, we just had in the last week we had the independent body including for the n. H. S. , i believe the right thing to do is to accept those independent recommendations but that is making painful and difficult decisions to deliver those pay rises without fueling debt. The m. P. s are back on the picket line, yet again on this issue, he simply refuses to take a position. Its the same old story and take inexpiration from his friends outside and unglue himself from the fence. In that burst of nonsense what he did was a single word how he is going to be paying for. Labours funded. You know the one. You are not going the right way. Labours work plan is fully funded. You know the ones. That allows the wealthiest people in the country to avoid paying tax here. If that is so important to him and have billions in unfunded promises and making billionaires pay what they owe. The same policy that is paid for five different Everybody Knows but the honorable gentleman makes a very strong case. [indiscernible] you have to repay and you have to set out plans for how you reform the n. H. S. So you can have it more productive and that is the difference. He is only ever focused on the superficial headlines. Mr. Speaker [indiscernible] i dont know where the walls have started to close because of appalling conditions and that is part of the wider problem. It is set out in details what everyone already knows, the Government Hospital program has some in it. And we are not just stopping there. 100 hospital upgrades. New Community Diagnostic Centers to speed up treatment for people. And. [indiscernible] let me end on this. He mentioned. If i want to help people not only they get to work and get the care they need, why does he want to charge them 12 pound 50 every time they visit . And use and responsibility and dont have information how much it will cost or how it will work. And resetting that program. And that reduction in pack acknowledging that we all want to see . I thank my honorable friend for the question. And we are committed to protecting the environment and delivering on our target and continuing to engage closely with manufacturers, retailers and packaging and i know the minister will keep this house and honorable friend updated. Mr. Speaker, the benefit cap that has been introduced has left 250,000 children living in poverty. Can i ask the Prime Minister, does he take comfort knowing that the legacy of that policy will no longer be protected by conservative members but by labour members, too . Prime friem Prime Minister sunak i welcome that but i would say and to the labour is that they dont have to worry too much because given the labour leader, he hasnt kept his word. Almost expect it. But what they dont expect Child Poverty from the labour party and work very closely. There is a shiver [. [indiscernible] children living in poverty in scotland. Westminster offers them know real change, no real hope. Prime minister sunak the best route out of poverty is work and best way to ensure people are not brought up in poverty is not grow up in a workless household and we are creating jobs, 200,000 more jobs and hundreds of fewer children in the United Kingdom growing up in a workless household. We are always working to reduce Child Poverty and we will deliver that in every part of the u. K. Including scotland. Would my honorable friend agree with me, members opposite are in favor of economic migration and should have the courage rather than claiming that young men the in 20s and 30 hes are actually asylum speakers . Prime minister sunak the party doesnt have a plan to tackle legal migration and saw it the last week. They voted over 70 different times. And that. Mr. Williams make it Crystal Clear if you come here illegally, you will be swiftly removed and that is fair and compassion nature way to deal with this problem. Exactly a year to the day since temperatures hit dangerous 40 degrees. Yet the Prime Ministers Climate Advisers and businesses said his, he likes that u. K. Is faster than the rest of the g7. Since the par is agreement, that is simply not true. He said there is concern for the public and that is not true either. Experts and public want Climate Action that isnt even one of his top five priorities. Can he tell us why not. Prime minister sunak she makes a bizarre point. Because we moved quicker and faster than everyone else and that is something we shouldnt be proud of. Other countries are catching up and inevitable to make up for the fact that over the past two decades they havent followed our example. Our track record is a good one, mr. Speaker. We have gone faster than everyone else and we are making the decisions to transition that brings people along with us and creates jobs in the process. Businesses now have apprenticees earning 48,000 pounds a year easily beating cost of living. What can we get schools to promote apprenticees as our colleges are great institutions . Prime minister sunak one of the practical threats is that the system which makes sure they have parity in the classroom. But at the same time we are clamping down on University Courses that fail to deliver good outcomes. We should be providing young people for the best opportunities and he is right that that should include apprenticees. Why does the Prime Minister think that the Public Inquiry [indiscernible] the industry which accounts for 10 of our countrys exports. I welcome the four billion pounds in a battery factory. Will my honorable friend build on that success and plan to get more victory including in the West Midlands and improve our innovation . Prime minister sunak you are highlighting the largest investment in the auto industry. Billions of pounds, thousands of jobs and a vote of confidence in the u. K. Economy. Thank you very much, mr. Speaker. The n. H. S. Had its longest tenured doctor strike and will go on strike tomorrow for the first time. Scotland has had no n. H. S. Strike. Is it because our Health Secretary and minister is trying to address faced by the doctors. What is the biggest challenge facing health care and the Prime Minister just mentioned staff retention. Refusing to talking to Health Unions will stop doctors leaving . Prime minister sunak we respected the independent pay review which is the right way and typical Junior Doctor will see a 9 pay rise. You mentioned retention earlier this year the government delivered the number one arc which was to remove the pension that was designed to retain senior doctors. So the government has done it and i would urge the union to get back to their hospitals and treat your patients. Does any honorable friend that a bank has its shareholder close the account of a senior opposition politician. Will he use the governments Share Holding to make sure there is an inquiry because the subject data access request makes it clear or indicates that it is the persons political views that led to his cancellation and do you agree that however much we find, members of the opposition deserve Bank Accounts . Mr. Speake r, it wouldnt be right if Financial Services were being denied their right to lawful free speech. This puts in place new measures that politically exposed are being in an appropriate manner. We have with are in the process of cracking down on this practice. But in the meantime any individual can complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service which has the power to reopen the bank. I know how it feels to be homeless living one place to another with your entire belongings. Hardworking families are at risk because of tory mortgage bombshell. Can i ask the Prime Minister apart from the grip on the situation, what is he doing . Prime minister sunak levels are a third lower in 2022 and since our landmark homelessness reduction act over 6,000 households hood their homelessness prevented and investing two billion pounds to tackle homelessness. The Prime Minister our armed forces, could i mention them again . We lost 457 personnel in afghanistan. And several thousand suffered life threatening injuries. Some of my colleagues on the Defense Committee were absolutely stunned to see a video hosted by our chairman lauding the talibans governance of afghanistan and trying to identify and kill afghan civilians and also not mentioning they dont let girls to go to school. Can i make plain, this was not in our name . And can i have the Prime Ministers assurance that this was not in his name either . Mr. Speake r, i join with my honorable friend in paying tribute to our veterans and thank them for their service as we touched on earlier today and we have repeatedly and will continue to repeatedly call out the human rights abuses tay we see around the world and mentioned rightly the prohibition on women being educated in afghanistan. But we will continue to have the regime and dont consider those regimes legitimate or approve of their actions and that is establishing a diplomatic presence but i will look into the specific case he brought up. Its not just the adoption that is disgusting and heinous benefit, it is the tuition fees and immigration, there is no difference between the two . [indiscernible] this is what you get from the u. K. Party . Prime minister sunak thank you, mr. Speaker. I would say on the substance because it is important track record demonstrates we are making a difference in reducing Child Poverty. 400,000 children in poverty because as a result of this government moving their parents into work. That is the right policy and one we will continue to deliver. Therapy is packaged by bigots to promote profits. 19 of january against conversion therapy and completed before the end of this. The welcomed statement and lgbtq veterans and we are grateful for your service. Prime minister sunak i thank my honorable friend for her question. And conversion therapy is abhorrent practice and we will stamp it out. The college will keep the house updated. Mr. Speaker, thank you. Does the Prime Minister remember seven years ago when he was a passionate supporter of leaving the European Union along with his then best friend bore is johnson . Is he aware that john major that that decision was catastrophic for people in this country and also keeps damaging to influence the world . Mr. Speake r, he made the point. It was seven years ago, mr. Speaker. And we need to move forward and this economy has grown faster than germany, france and italy, mr. Speaker and he talks about our standing on the world stage. He wasnt here for our statement at the nato summit, the United Kingdom is highly respected on the world stage. Thank you, mr. Speaker. Just last week, the leader of the opposition announced new flagship policy and very popular on this side of the side of the house but not that side of the house. When will the leader be honest with the British Public . Mr. Speaker, my honorable friend is right. It would be one thing and i welcome the leader of the opposition now supporting the governments policy, but i dont think anyone actually believes that he believes what he is saying. You dont need to believe in the responsibility of the opposition. Every Single Member of this house is required by law to confirm the relation before it is accepted or declared. Can the Prime Minister tell us he follows the rules all the time before he receives air travel on the 28th of april and if so, why does the story keep changing . Organizati ons have been declared in the normal way. I dont know if there are changes to that. The Prime Minister. The Opposition Party his bank account was closed. Not because of p. E. P. But views are not in line with the values. And political discrimination. And in addition, that disclosed confidential details and lied about the commercial viability, actions that jeopardizees banking license. Are and so can he require every bank with the british banking license to inform the treasury of all the treasury . Mr. Speaker, i know the honorable gentleman spoke about this chance and we will continue have those conversations and having consulted on the Payment Service regulation we do intend to crack down on the practice. But in the meantime the financial is available available and i look forward to continuing the dialogue with him. Final question. Thank you, mr. Speaker. As the Prime Minister knows how precious. Adam is nine and from my constituenciy lost their battles with Childhood Cancer. Their homes are forever broken. Both families want to see change in Financial Support for the 1600 with children diagnosed with cancer across the United Kingdom. Would you listen to their stories and review and commence a diagnosis of Childhood Cancer whether that is and support is just too long. Surely this government can rally around these children in their hour of need. I thank the honorable lady for raising this issue and a i cant imagine how difficult it is for children being treated for cancer. I will look into this issue and get back to her and she has my total support for helping families that are going through an unp believable difficult time. That completes the Prime Ministers questions. [captions Copyright National cable satellite corp. 2023] captioning performed by the national captioning institute,
