Announcer next President Biden meeting with his board of advisors on historically black colleges and universities at the white house. During the meeting the president also discusses the potential Government Shutdown and the Public Services that would be impacted. [indiscernible] thank you for meeting with us we have really gone about the work that i think is an incredible foundation. I said publicly many times and i will say once more, no other administration in American History has given so much to so quickly. It was a clear vision and one that you did well. We want to applaud this administration for that work. And but includes 3. 6 billion during the pandemic. It was critical mass. 1. 6 million with infrastructure concerns. 45 public and private benefited from that. Another 1. 5 billion. And another 12 million which may not sound like a lot, but we really do appreciate it. And it protects us we had a terroristic retinol not so long ago. To give you a sense of that commitment we have framed our recommendations from around President Biden, Vice President harris who have worked funding this. One must continue to work with infrastructure. And that relates to physical infrastructure and technological infrastructure. Higher education. Provide education. And you match that. Also, lets make sure we are spending time building the capacity of our institution. We think we have the unique expertise across that will help the american economy. And we have a number of hbcu physicians and classifications that are ready for their status. And connected pathways in the president and Vice President to spend time with industry. Supporting the real opportunities for our students. And they come to our campuses through graduates. Finally, as hbcu preservation we believe that is critically important as meeting with my particular colleagues in this room. Still the number one factor for low Resource Communities is getting into the middle class that is africanamerican. Attendance at hbcu. I am proud to of my colleagues and continued work. I will add that our report comes with the detailed fact pattern established by the institute for black economic Ability Institute and they provided and promoted. We believe our work is real, sound and will help that trajectory for our teachers. With that i am proud to introduce and turn it over to my dear friend the president of the United States. Thank you for the introduction. Dr. Glover thank you [indiscernible] and the board of advisors. With your help we been making a lot of progress and there is a lot more to do, but we just finished the meeting about Critical Role that these machines play. And the private discussion we had here. And they can be continuing this legacy the legacy of growth. It is not just about earning wages but it is bagel being able to accumulate wealth, focus on more than what just will be put on the table tonight. And weve done a good job on that. We have a lot more to do. Hbcu has produced 40 of all black engineers in america 50 of all black lawyers, 70 of all black doctors and dentists and 80 of all black judges. And hbcus are engineers of economic mobility. And it creates a back black middle class. Everybody says i focused too much on the middle class but the middle class does what Everybody Needs to do the port the wealthy still do well because everybody pays their taxes. It is critical in business. Heard something on the internet and the funding of hbcu. And that is the furthest thing from the truth but then again [indiscernible] i cant buy promise starting investments this year as tony mentioned 7 million including the Research Investments the largest in base increase in grants in over a decade. [indiscernible] africanamericans going to college and receiving programs. Student debt replacement plan the total amount of time payment per dollar for black students and families is cut in half. And establish a board to do more. [indiscernible] discussion around hbcu continuing to be strong financially and affordable student. And he mentioned the four things that in the report, growth, infrastructure the whole idea of Student Support and research. I was considering that is not researching that as i was senator and Vice President are realized that [indiscernible] we had to go into a the programs and find it. To [indiscernible] that is supposed to put americans and american personnel and i remember going down to the hbcu and virginia and they had the capacity to do anything i think there were no laboratories. They had the laboratories. The infrastructure was not just housing, not just but the laboratories to be able to take advantage of opportunities within the contract that are being put in by the federal government that were generated Artificial Intelligence around the corner. And right now. Weve got to increase that more. And with regard to the making sure that we engage in making sure that we have Student Support. That is why we are here to have and we will continue to do that. That is why we are focusing so much on infrastructure and research. The point is, in the meantime i want to say a word about those in congress who are willing to shut down the government. I know you all you want to ask any questions about anything. I know that, but ask is me i am having trouble hearing. I know that you are well anyway. In the meantime i will say a word about those in congress who are willing to shut down the government. If you would have to stop. They will increase the share of federal contract dollars to go to going to small businesses. They have a basic fundamental responsibility to congress. I have a lot more to say but let me turn it over. Thank you for your service. Through the work of this esteemed group of leaders under the guise of our president , it is especially meaningful to me. I strongly believe based on experience and knowledge about what our country means they must continue to support. And helping to examine to americas leadership. These are the fields of work that we require to create that to supply us with the innovative approaches that will allow us on the strength and prosperity has occurred good navajo nation. This is how we address Artificial Intelligence. We want to make sure that Machine Learning adapts. We came out of the pandemic. When we look at Health Issues and Public Health crises, there will be disparities based on peoples backgrounds. And in order to best address them, we will want to have people in those fields of research who understand the culture. The president has been very adamant since we came into office that we will not just think of our hbc. What we need to do is support these schools and then we will continue to do it understanding that their endowments tend to be smaller. 50 of our buildings are in need of repair. These are all areas are administration has been working on. Sometimes i think he has almost been more time at hbcus that i have. Thank you for all you do and i will turn it over. When universities and landgrant universities used to be supported by those state legislators. They were supported by 50 landgrant. 12 1987 to 2000. All to help and that is exacerbating the problem in hbcus. I think it is important that we understand that i know youre tired of me saying this about all if hbcus are doing extremely well, some are just smarter and more compatible. They can help everybody. Everybody does that in the whole United States when the potential of hbcus is realized. I make no apologies for the time we are spending on hbcus and i do plan on spending more time on campus. It really meant a lot. Thank you so much, mr. President. Madam Vice President. We will take care of everybody. I think they give up an incredible amount that when all this was going under. And they saved a lot. I think that now that the industry is roaring back, they should anticipate this more. And i have looked at significant increases in salaries throughout the industry.
