Trickle down economics, cut taxes on the wealthy, get out of the way of corporations. We have tried that and it does not work. It is important to know the fact. Is, our economy does better when we have a democrat in the white house who cares about creating jobs and raising incomes for americans. Last two democratic president s we have had, both of whom i know, which i kind of an proud of, they each inherited economic problems from their republican predecessors. In my husbands case, it was a recession. A Huge National debt which had been what drupal did in the previous years. When he got to washington, people said, what you bring to washington that can make a difference. He said, i guess i bring arithmetic. We are going to make it at up again. At the end of a years, we did. 23 million jobs but most importantly income went up or everybody. Not just those at the top will stop hard class working families. Poor families. More people were lifted out of poverty than at any other time in our recent history and we ended up with a balanced budget and a surplus. We were on the right track. Then back in the republicans, back end the republicans. George w. Bush slashed taxes on thewealthy and got out of way of the corporations to the extent that demand he put in charge of keeping an eye on wall street took a chainsaw to a big stack of regulations and had a great big smile on his face. We know what happened, dont we . We went into the greatest financial crisis since the great depression. And when barack obama became president , were losing 800,000 jobs a month. I do not think brock of obama i do not think barack obama gets credit for digging us out of that they ditch that the republicans put us in during their at illustration. And it was not easy. I know, i talked to him about it. When he asked me to be secretary of state, he said, we have to focus on the problem at home. We have got to fix the problems we inherited around the world. And, what did he do . We are back on track with 14 million new jobs. The Affordable Care act was passed. We are now at 90 Health Care Coverage in america for the first time. He passed and signed the toughest regulations on wall street since the 930 since the 1930s, the dotfrank act. He save the Auto Industry which was on the brink of collapse which wouldve taken another million jobs down with it. We ended up losing 9 million because of that great recession. 5 million homes were lost. Go back there, you have got a lot of folks, including one who is here today who are spouting that same stuff because that is where we will end up again. Are four times more likely to see a recession in america when you have a republican in the white house. The economy is going to be at the core of this election. You should ask everybody who is running what they are going to do about. I am proud of what were doing on the democratic side. We have our differences but we have differences over issues and that is what we talk about. Not insults, which is what happens among republicans. I put out a plan. The is what i think we need to do. More infrastructure. Tunnels, sewers, water systems. We have worked to do and our country and those are jobs that cannot be exported. They need to be done right here and put a americans back to work building our economy. Making us more competitive. And then we are going to take the tax system and get rid of the incentive that encourages people to move jobs overseas. Build factories overseas. Were going to reverse that and start investing in america again. Advanced manufacturing. I know it can be them because ive been to some of your Community Colleges and cb work happening there. The training going on. I know it can be done because while we are going to combat Climate Change, were going to create more Clean Renewable Energy jobs and that will be a huge economic opportunity. Directly linked to what i have been doing. You know, republicans, when you ask about Climate Change they all say the same thing. I dont know, i am not a scientist. There is an easy way to remedy that, go talk to a scientist. Listen to a scientist. Learn about what is going on. To theybad enough that are in denial, what is really troubling as they are missing is huge economic opportunity. Tell people that, i see sometimes folks around the country a little bit of skepticism. Here is what i tell them. I know we can create those jobs because, look at what iowa has done. I want you to
