not the legal conversation. the dinner table conversation you're having about the trayvon story. >> you know, it's a conversation, unfortunately, that i have to have as the mother of a young boy, a child of color. and that is you can be perceived as being suspicious just by virtue of the way that you look and you have to be careful. my son always complains about the way he's dressed, the clothes that i buy him. he says they aren't cool. he looks like carlton from "the fresh prince." it is intentional because i want him to wear a particular -- no hoodi. i want him to wear a particular uniform. unfortunately that is a sad commentary on our society as to where we are. i've had the opportunity to speak with trayvon's family, parents, attorneys. >> what are his parents saying? >> these are good, decent people. mother to mother i spoke with his mother and she just said, i'm not looking for eye for an eye but justice for my son. that was my son on the videotape, my baby. i told her i share her anger and anguish as the mother of a son and i got to tell you i don't even know that it's racial at this point. i think all mothers should be outraged about the fact that you can send your kid to get skittles and he may never come back. >> leigh anne, you have two sons, one black and one white. do you as a mother of those two boys, are there different sets of realities as a mother of those kids that you have to accept? that you are resigned to or rebel against? >> first of all, anybody that thinks racism is not alive and well in this country you need to turn around because you're missing the point. it is. my family sees it day in and day out. it is amazing the looks and stares and opinions that we get. obviously if you've seen the movie you know i don't care what your opinion is about me or my family. we know what counts. the fact this young man was perceived and stereotyped and pigeon holed because he had a hoody on is unacceptable and this stuff has to stop in this country. it's got to stop now. as the mother of a black child and a white child i can tell you it happens all the time. we'll walk in and michael will get a look and i think oh, my gosh because he is large and african-american he is automatically put in this fear, people look at him and they have fear in their eyes. i'm just going you're kidding me. you know, then they realize he is with us or who we are and they do this 360. i go, uh-huh. you had a chance before you knew the facts. you've blown it. and we value people incorrectly. we stereotype people incorrectly. i hope this young man's life, that it was not, you know, all this is not in vain and that we take this and learn a lesson for it. please, people. realize that because you have a hoody up that there's nothing wrong with that. >> it is still so wrong, i feel the lessons are something like -- we are so far away from the lessons it is still such a raw, raw time about trayvon and this country and where we are tnchs's horrible. >> that's a fascinating discussion. let's stick with us chls don't move. we'll talk about the bounty scandal in the nfl. i want leigh anne's thoughts on that. also get joel back into the conversation. don't go away. that's just mind blowing to me. when i first heard about it i thought you've got to be kidding. that cannot be accurate. surely some guys were just sitting around the locker room blowing off some steam and said hey we're going to, you know, but obviously i was wrong. i think this was to a different level and i, for one, i'm really glad that roger has come down hard. i hope it stops it. i hope it eliminates it. >> she's got roger on a first-name basis. that's what i love about leigh anne you totouhy. i have three little boys. you have a kid. i see these stories and i worry football is such a violent sport and maybe this was an exception what happened in the nfl but i am worried about head injuries, worried that maybe this is a sport that is just too violent for kids. what do you think? >> yeah. well, i was thinking rog did a great job and i don't know if i have the kind of kid i can tell already who is going to play nfl football. i doubt it. but you're not going to change football. all you can do is change the culture around it. he makes some rules that prevent the really bad hits that cause concussions but it's tough. america likes the hits. and we have a culture that kind of promoted that so we have to fix that. >> i'm not sure the moms like the hits. your kid is in tennis right? >> i was going to say that. my kid plays tennis and he is a big kid but i just think roger's point is spot on because we've got to change the culture. i don't know that we'll change the dine ammics of football but let's bring sportsmanship back, humanity back. these are our children playing sports. sometimes you see parents right on the sidelines acting worse than some of the children. and so i think it's really about changing the culture. >> we talk a little bit about -- >> i don't know if it's bringing it back. it is probably less brutal than it used to be but is still pretty brutal. >> speaking about brutal, all right. think about this. sibling rivalry. whether you're sharing a bunk bed, you're all grown up with children of your own, guess what? a new study finds that sibling rivalry is inescapable. i say you need a study for that? maybe you'll see it with your own children but it is your relationship with your brothers and your sisters that actually endures past adulthood, adult sibling rivalry still one of the more harmful and least addressed issues in a family. i'm the oldest of four, leigh anne. how is your relationship with your siblings? and is that shaping your life as an adult? >> you know, i have one brother and thank goodness we get along really well. >> because he listens to you and he knows you're the boss, right? >> it seems to work. you know, it works for me. actually we get along great. i'm familiar with this. i do have friends that, you know, they have issues with their siblings. they are constantly bickering and going back and forth and, you know, i don't know. i think it is something that is just a part of life and you need to learn to deal with it and if siblings can't get along then who can you get along with? i think in life that there are hiccups all along the way and i just think for one that, you know, there are so many issues that need to be addressed that that certainly isn't something that is a priority on my list. i tell him what to do and he does it and life is good. >> joel, do you still -- do you have any siblings, joel? good question. >> it's political in nature. they're both right. as you point out, the democrats, if they want to perpetuate the system as they have today, that's what happens. if they want the controversial approach, it scares a lot of seniors, the details are unknown, they're right too. so we don't know what's going to happen yet. >> trying to get these state run exchanges to buy your health care insurance under health care reform just as it goes to the supreme court makes for interesting politics and policy for patients. >> and it's hard for people to understand. they're the underpinning of how consumers will get their health care in the future. states are setting them up on their own or the federal government will set them up if they don't want to do it. it's extensive. some states have started. some have not. we'll see what's happening. >> massive, massive changes. >> lots of changes down the road. >> andrew rubin, nice to see you. buying in the recovery. how to take advantage of it. next on your bomb line. i'm a home in a high-risk flood area. it doesn't look risky. i mean, phil, does this look risky to you?
