Rock n roll stars could have died so young. And projecting an image. There is the angry outsider he projects on stage and the pragmatic behindthescenes businessman who is ready to change. Tonight, ted cruz says all of that is proof that trump is lying to voters. Wolf blitzer is off today. Im brianna keilar. Youre in the situation room. This is cnn breaking news. We begin with breaking news investigators just now revealing new details about princes mysterious death but leaving many important questions unanswered. The county sheriff says the last time prince was seen alive was about 8 00 wednesday night. Members of princes staff went looking for him after they were unable to reach him yesterday morning and they found him dressed but unresponsive in an elevator. They called Emergency Responders. They could not revive him. The sheriff says there were no obvious signs of trauma on princes body and no reason to believe that his death was a suicide. The sheriff cannot confirm whether prince was taking any medications. A spokesperson for the medical examiner who did the autopsy says it will take days and weeks to perform tissue and drug tests. Ted cruz says that donald trump is lying to the voters. This, after Trumps Convention manager assured Republican Party leaders that the businessman is projecting an image and is now ready to evolve. Our correspondents, analysts and guests have full coverage of the days top stories. Lets begin now with this breaking news about princes death. Cnn National Correspondent kyung lah was at the Sheriffs Office News Conference a couple of minutes ago. There are still a lot of Unanswered Questions from this. A lot of questions that they did not want to delve into and they dont want and dont simply know the answers to the questions. What they were able to detail, though, is the time line. They say the last time prince was seen alive was at 8 00 p. M. The night before. He was dropped off at home by someone and spent the night alone. This was not unusual. He doesnt have a high security presence. That he woke up apparently the next day, they believe. They do not know at this point how long he had been deceased before officers found him but that staffers became concerned when they couldnt reach him. Heres what the sheriff said. They were trying to reach him yesterday morning. They were unable to reach him. Reach prince. So they responded to paisley park. To look for him and found him unresponsive in the elevator. So he was alone at home . That is correct. We cleared the we did clear and go through the residence at the time and did not find anybody else there. And it was the staffers who called 911, they believe. They would not reveal who exactly was on the phone call. They were able to say that cpr was not successful, that the officers did perform that. The First Responders, that he had collapsed inside the elevator. He was wearing clothes. They were not specifying if he was wearing overnight clothes or if he had dressed the next morning but there were no signs of obvious trauma. They do not believe this is a suicide or that foul play was involved. They also would say as far as how long he was deceased, they dont believe that it had happened within a couple of minutes that the officers arrived, that it wasnt something that had happened in the immediate time right before First Responders did arrive, that all of this, brianna, is a part of the investigation. They will look into the big questions. How many doctors was he seeing . They are going to talk to any medical personnel who may have been treating him as well as if he was on any medications. Brianna . Kyung lah, thank you so much for that. Again and again today, the sheriff was emphasizing that this investigation is only the beginning. I want to bring in cnns tom foreman for a close are look at the many Unanswered Questions. Whats the one that sticks out the most for you, or some of the information that we really need to know that we dont know at this point . The biggest thing unaccounted for here is this almost 13hour period of time. The police say, the Sheriffs Office says at 8 00 in the evening he was dropped off and as far as we know, no contact with anyone until almost 13 hours later when the 911 call is in. Was he truly alone all that time, was nobody in contact with him . Did nobody hear from him . What was going on during that period of time. The second thing is time of death, made reference to a moment ago, we do not know right now if he died early that morning, if he died in the middle of the night, if he died right after being dropped off and all of that could be important and that speaks to the question of somebody being with him or not being with him. If this entertainer, if he was deathly ill and some of the events of the week before suggest he might have been, if he was alone the whole time, why was he alone the whole time . There are many normal Family Members that wouldnt leave a Family Member alone. Why wasnt he being watched . Or somebody attend to him asay hes very, very ill. The last question is the search warrant. We dont have access to that yet. Authorities are not releasing it yet. The search warrant matters. If you get the search warrant, youll have a much better insight into what he might have had in the house, what he might have been using or used on accident or on purpose or whether that has anything to do with anything when we get the search warrant, almost certainly well know an awful lot more. We know they took something but they wont say what it is . Thats exactly right. Sometimes many reasons they might want to do that. To safeguard the investigation, they might want to safeguard the privacy of the family a bit because if it spoke to some illness that he had, they might want to handle that delicately. But eventually that search warrant has to come out and when it comes out, it will tell us a lot. Tom foreman, thank you so much. I want to get more now into the medical investigation. Were looking for insight on that from chief medical correspondent dr. Sanjay gupta from cnn atlanta center. Even though these tests are going to take weeks, thats the expectation. Truly doctors doing an autopsy have some preliminary sense about why someone died or did not die. Yeah, i think thats fair to say. They have some preliminary ideas, hunches that they are sort of trying to chase down. But still, what i can tell you, given the fact that a complete autopsy was done, its been four hours or so spent doing this autopsy, there was no signs of trauma, as youve heard, no signs of suicide, they are really not sure, is what this says to me. They are not really not exactly sure what happened here. As tom foreman pointed out, he was out during that evening, wednesday evening and dropped off. It doesnt sound like he was at least particularly ill at that point. So what exactly happened and when did it happen . These are going to be some of the pieces that they are putting together. I will tell you as well, you heard that at 9 43 in the morning on thursday is when they responded to this call and 24 minutes later is when prince was pronounced dead. It happened quickly and in this case they didnt do that. They did not give narcan, a medication that can reverse an overdose. There was no doubt that he could not be saved at the time that they got there. Again, they decided to do a complete autopsy which means there wasnt enough by looking at prince and the surroundings to say were pretty sure what happened here. Doesnt sound like they had that information. 24 minutes from the time the call came in until he was pronounced dead. In the cases youve seen over the course of your career of something happening, how much time can pass before someone is declared dead if there is a shot that Emergency Responders have at trying to revive them . Its good question. What can happen is if somebody has collapsed, ems arrives, 10, 12 minutes later, even if theres no evidence of heartbeat, they may start transportation to the hospital simultaneously, defibrillation, they would try to get the person to the hospital. Again, that was not done here. The medical examiner arrived about an hour and a half after prince had died and they did not give this medication narcan to suspect, for example, someone has had an overdose and stopped breathing because of an overdose but still potentially someon who could be saved, you give the nar can a narcan and they said that they did not give it there. He also made mention of the fact because it was an unwitnessed death, they process the entire area. They look for any kinds of clues because its a death that is unusual in nature. Thats obviously what triggered the medical examiners investigation. Sanjay, thank you so much. Joining me now, don lemon, kerry gordy, the former executive Vice President of paisley park and cnn contributor and entertainment tonight host Nischelle Turner. You were there at the site of the press conference. You spoke with sheila e. What did you find out . Reporter well, of course we were trying to clear up questions that have not been answered. But there was and there has been this talk about has there been any use of painkillers and things like that, you know, the sheriff said he cannot confirm or deny taking any of that from the home but sheila and i did talk about that. I asked her if she had any idea of any use from prince and or any injuries from prince and she said, you know, he was in pain for a very long time and he had been for many years. She said that actually stemmed from his performance and the fact that he did wear high heels and he jumped off a lot of tall blocks during his tours and things like that and that did something to his hips and caused him to have prolonged pain for years such as drug use or anything like that. She was not aware of that. We talked about a lot of things. She spent 38 years being friends and or lovers with prince. They were engaged at one point and shared a lot of good memories. I asked her, what was it like, what did it feel like to be loved by prince . She said it was a little different but they were best friends, made music together, played pingpong all of the time and she said she does remember one funny story when they were sitting around one night and turned and looked at him and said, my gosh, you are prettier than i am. Look at your makeup. Its better than mine. It was a really funny moment. She did get very emotional at one point. I know don would like that. She did get very emotional when i asked her, how is she going to say goodbye to him . And she just looked at me, she started crying and she said, i dont know if i can. 38 years. I dont know if i can. So very emotional time for a lot of people here, brianna. And kerry, i know it is for so many of his friends and associates, obviously his fans. I know that this is something that you are going through, probably shock at this point. You heard this press conference, im assuming. We know that he was found by himself in this elevator. I know that you were in this compound there. Can you give us any details about some of the things you just heard nischelle say and also about where he might have been found . Was this in the residence . Was this near the recording area . Well, the elevator was kind of in the middle of the compound. So you could you would take the elevator up and you could go to several different places and the big stage on the bottom floor and also had residence from the top floor and so many things, he would have this where they would manufacture his clothes and all of that kind of stuff and the complex was huge and so proximitywise, the elevator was right in the middle and it was very rare that he would use the elevator. We hardly ever used the elevator. So thats for him to be in the elevator, as far as i was concerned, is an interesting concept. It was like the elevator initially was put there to be a cool thing as opposed to being something that he actually really used. So you think, then, that he made it sounds like maybe he wasnt feeling well to get upstairs . Its really funny because something was said earlier about wearing highheeled shoes and having problems. I never knew him to have Serious Problems enough to be taking pain medications but i dont know that side of him. But i do have to say, he did wear high heels a lot and even when we played basketball together, he placed them in his high heels, which i thought was very interesting. Get you closer to the net, though. You know what, it does. But he was i was still taller than him and im a short guy as well. Maybe he needed higher heels. Don, back to i know this is where a lot of people are. They are remembering these moments and things that set prince apart and made him so unique and interesting. And there are a lot of Unanswered Questions at this point, including one that struck us, which is the sheriff couldnt answer questions about whether prince was a healthy person or not. I think thats they are guarding his privacy and he also said in that statement, hes a very private person and also giving up peoples personal health information, one has to be careful about that, especially with how high a profile case that this is and the sheriff alluded to that as well. By all accounts, prince was a healthy person from the people are from the outside looking in. We dont know about his personal medical records. We dont know, as kerry just said, about whether or not he was on pain medication or what have you. Or if in those last lets be honest about this, and im sure sanjay is probably not listening right now, but people die from respiratory illness all the time. Its a leading cause of death in the united states. And thats why every flu season when we see outbreaks, we hear about people who are dying and more people die from that and other things as we that we dont consider so shocking. People die all the time. Things like that come on suddenly, especially prince has been dealing with the symptoms for at least two weeks to cancel concerts. We dont know the cause of death but if that is indeed the cause of death, then its not so surprising that it happens. It is shocking because hes such an icon. But even if there was something that has to do with some sort of pain medication that he was taking, those kinds of things happen as well and we cover them as well. We know the medical community are trying to get their hands on pain medications and so its still to unfold and we dont know what princes Health Issues were and its still unfolding and i think we should be a little patient. Well find out the story as it unfolds and everyone will know. Yeah. And nischelle, were watching here in the last there is this dressing in purple and great out pouring. I think there is a desire for people to have a moment which makes me wonder, what would a memorial look like respecting obviously this need on behalf of so many of them but also the privacy certainly of someone like prince who was a private person . What do you think . I know there are plans being made by the family right now for a funeral. We dont have the specific information right now. I think the fans would love for that to happen. In some way, they have been having their own memorials already with the dance parties and the gathering at paisley park and things like that. But for something to be organized, i think the fans would really love that. I think people would come far and wide. Im sure you can expect major tributes on the b. E. T. Awards and mtv music awards, those types of things. Im sure youre going to have these massive prince tributes. I have breaking news for you guys. Yes. Amc is going to bring purple rain back to theaters. Hallelujah. They have worked out a deal with warner brothers. I am there. Thats a tribute. Its going to be in limited theaters around the country. Amc theater, special content and to bring purple rain to the big screen. They will pay tribute this saturday april 23rd through april 28th. Kerry, obviously that is going to be one way that fans paid tribute. They will show up in droves. What do you think prince and his family would have wanted. You know, i cant say exactly what prince would have wanted because he was so eclectic in his thought process and you never know what he was thinking. But i do think that he would want those songs that people never heard to be heard. And finding the right person to finish those things if they werent finished would be an issue. I remember he used to let me remix some of his things because he trusted me but he would want them to be heard but i dont think that i think that unless they are finished, which, by the way, they may be, he was so prolific. Its basically a bank vault at paisley park that has all of this material that we have never listened to. Did you know of it . First of all, i have never physically seen the vault. I have heard about the vault. I have heard about the vault from the day that i mean, for the last 20 years, right . Yeah. So i just i just assumed the vault was a figment vault that was there knowing that he recorded all of this material. So im assuming there is a vault now because i guess when the masters transferred over from warner brothers, they had to put them some place but right now everybody is in a digital format and you can actually put a lot of those things and you dont really need that big vault or big area and now things can be stored in a digital form. Nischelle, you were going to add something. I asked sheila about the rumors when she played very coy with me and gave me a sly smile and said, i dont know. And i said, well, is there somewhere that he stores and if theres a tornado, theres a place there that we can all go and be safe. I said, oh, so theres a bunker that houses things . She said, yes, theres a vault. One of his former assistants was i think it was an assistant, secretary or something, manager, pardon me, was on with brooke earlier and said many of them now, much of it is now on a secure server. As kerry was saying, not a need to have a big vault. They are on a secure server now. Okay. So if it isnt digital but the vault is there. Yeah, the vault is there. It seems possible. There certainly was enough room to have a vault. Yeah, certainly. It sounds like maybe there was at one point. You mentioned that there was this certainly this could be digitized, a lot of this music. When youre talking about how prolific he was, kerry, how prolific are you saying that he was . How much material do you think that there is when you saw him recording so much . Im saying that prince was one of the few people that could actually record a fullfledged album in ten days. Wow. You mean from conception . From writing it to the execution or im talking about well, the fact of the matter is, its because of the nature of how he did things, he would actually write things as he was recording them. So it wasnt like he had to sit down and write something and then go and record the studio. Its like, okay, lets go in the thing and, okay, were going to hit this and its going to be see here, act there, blah, blah, blah. Lets go here, change this, do this, blah, blah, blah. I like that. Sometimes he would do it that way. Sometimes he would do it in a way where he would just play everything and do everything himself. It just it just depended on what his mood was but the fact is that he could get a song completed in one day from beginning to end. Im talking about the concepting it to writing it to performing it to producing it to mastering it. Its done. Thats unbelievable. He was the machine, brianna. It sounds wonderful. A grahlamorous life in a wee. Don, i want to ask you this, are we await information about his death, is it possible as we learn more information that there are any revelations that could hurt his image or do you not think so . I dont think so. If you look over the span of his career, he was virtually scandalfree. I mean, everyone has something here and there and you dont know if its true or not. People take that with a grain of salt. I highly doubt it. If theres, you know we still need to know the circumstances surrounding his death regardless of what they are, he is still going to be beloved by many. Hes the sound track of my youth, including other artists and other peoples youth, even the sheriff, you know, there in minnesota saying the exact same thing. I dont think theres going to be any revelation to that will hurt him or damage him, you know, in any big way. We were talking about him creating music in a short amount of time. Thats why it was so important to get the rights to his song back, to get his song back because he created his own music and could play almost any instrument. He had a recording studio. He would sing it. He would compose it and do all of that and then he owned it and then if you think about just over the years, the stuff that he has released, you know, people had gone to concerts, anderson said this last night, he went to one of those concerts where he was invited late. I think anderson said he saw him at the hotel and playing from 2 00 to 4 00 in the morning, he said, i have too many hits so its hit after hit after hit and think about all of the things that you dont know about and the b side of the record as we used to say in the old days. So i think tlasheres a lot of material thats yet to be heard. Don, kerry, nischelle, stand by with us as we touch base with you throughout the show. Next, we have continued coverage. We continue following the breaking news coming from the investigation into princes death. Right now, however, we are going to turn to some important new developments in the president ial race. A recording made during a closeddoor meeting captured one of Donald Trumps top aides attempting to reassure nervous republican officials that trump, for all of his badmouthing of the gop establishment, has been playing a part and is ready to evolve and work with the party. Lets begin now with cnn Sunlen Serfaty and, sunlen, as you can imagine, this gives a lot of fodder to senator ted cruz. Reporter thats right, brianna. It certainly did. Senator cruz jumped so quickly on this saying it shows that donald trump, in his words, is putting on an act, pretending to be a conservative in order to fool republican voters. Its such a crooked system. Reporter as donald trump publicly rails against the republican nominating system they take them out to dinner, they send them to hotels, its such a crooked system. Its disgusting. Reporter privately, a secret recording reveals his campaign is putting on a fullcourt press, attempting to smooth over relations with gop party insiders. In the recording obtained by cnn, trumps newly mentioned manager Paul Manafort is telling rnc officials that the gop frontrunner can and will change. Hes sitting in a room and talked in a private room, its a different persona. Reporter manafort has suggested that trump is playing a part for the primary campaign but will change as the campaign moves forward. Thats what it is important for you to understand that he gets it and the part that hes playing and the images are going to change and clinton is still going to be crooked hillary. Reporter manafort making the case that in a general election, trumps vulnerabilities will be easier to address than clintons. Fixing personality negatives are easier than a character. How many of yall here are tired of politicians lying to us . Ted cruz is seizing on the comments saying they prove that trump cant be trusted. In the past 48 hours, Donald Trumps lobbyists have taken over his campaign and they have told Republican Party bosses that everything donald has said on the campaign is just to show that he doesnt believe any of it. Reporter cruz is rebanding trumps evolution that hes lying to fool his gullible voters. I will say to the millions of americans frustrated with politicians lying to them, donald is telling us hes lying to us. Reporter as cruz launched his attacks, trump is ratcheting up his calls for cruz and john kasich to get out of the race saying they dont have a chance of catching him in the delegate count. Cruz and kasich have no path to victory. Its over. He will tone things down that eventually. Im going to be so president ial that you people will be so bored. Reporter but making clear hes not there yet. I just dont know that i want to do it quite yet. Reporter and senator cruz really intensified his attacks across the board on donald trump today pointing to Donald Trumps new hires and recalibrations in his campaign saying Trumps Campaign has now become a washington campaign. So brianna, trying to tie donald trump to the establishment ring of the party. And trying to say its just the usual washington business. Well see if it sticks, Sunlen Serfaty, thank you. Lets continue this conversation with republican congressman peter king of new york, a member of the house intelligence and homeland securiy committees. We are also following important political news tonight which includes some controversial remarks made by donald Trumps Convention manager. One of his top aides. I want to bring in republican congressman peter king of new york to get his reaction to this. So you have Paul Manafort, Trumps Convention manager but really his delegate guru. Its a very important position that he has. He was down in florida and talking to Republican Party officials and he said that the part that he, that donald trump has been playing, is now evolving into the part that youve been expecting. Ted cruz has jumped on this. He says this means you cant trust donald trump. What do you think . Yeah. Listen, im not endorsing donald trump and ted cruz is making too much of this. The real issue is, is donald trump going to be able to fill in the gaps . Is he going to be able to show that he understands policy and knows what is going on in the middle east and knows what is happening with health care . He has to start filling it in with substance and thats going to be the challenge. If he can do that, thats one thing. As far as changing his tone, theres always a change in tone when you go from a primary to a general election. Im not concerned about that. My concern is, can he show in the gaps and show that he knows what hes talking about. To use this the equivalent of a romney aide four years ago, you can etch a sketch this going from the primary into the general . Well, in that case, i think they were talking more about policy. Here were talking about a change in style, a change inform, which to me doesnt bother me. If he starts changing his views on different issues, thats going and i think what he has to do is the challenge and speaking in loud sentences and one on one with Hillary Clinton, i assume thats who it will be, hes not going to be able to get away with just talking a lot. And thats the challenge right now. I understand what Paul Manafort is doing. You expect him to bring the Party Together but he has to do that without compromising his principles. But he has to show that he does have a real knowledge of what hes talking about. So congressman, i suspect it as i suspect i could say, you know, youre not really a trump guy, youre certainly not a cruz guy. Youve said recently about ted cruz, ill take cyanide if he ever got the nomination. I dont need to push on that. You also said in march about donald trump when someone asked you from the New York Daily News what you would do if he was the nominee and you said maybe ill become a reporter for the New York Daily News, you quipped. Youre not really for either of these guys but would you take trump over cruz . Yes, i would. I would take donald trump over ted cruz but donald trump to be an effective candidate in the general election has to show substance. He has to show that hes gone just beyond the name calling and the sound bites and, again, hes not my first choice for candidate but hes got to show that he knows what hes talking about. Marco rubio was. But why would you take him over cruz . Youre known as one of the certainly more moderate republicans who has many friends in the Democratic Party. Why would you choose donald trump over ted cruz . Ted cruz to me is a phony. I dont trust him. I think donald trump behind it all is the more reasonable person and i believe that he has enough commonsense but, again, he has to show that. To me, ted cruz is hopeless. Hes irredeemable. Those are very strong words. Not as strong as cyanide but we certainly hear you on that. Okay. The Trump Campaign says we can get not just to this important number of 1237. We can get to 1400 delegates. Ted cruz is saying no one is getting to this threshold of 1237. Who do you think is telling the truth more here . I would think and again, this is just off the top of my head trying to guess what will happen over the next few primaries, that donald trump will probably be a little short of 1237 and then he will do all he can to get over the top and if he gets over 1200, he should be able to get to 1237 and once he gets to 1237, thats when you go to 1300, 1400. I dont think theres any way hes going to go to 1400 without first having to struggle to get to 1237. But if he hits the threshold of 1237, thats when the votes start coming in and for the purpose of uniting the party. Stick around with me. We have more ahead after this quick break. Well, donald trump is facing intense criticism tonight after a top Campaign Staffer suggested trump is simply playing a part to win votes and will later lets dig deeper with our political experts. We are joined by Senior Analyst Jeffrey Toobin, and senior political analyst ron brownstein, Senior Editor at the atlantic. We have to listen to sound from Paul Manafort, Trumps Convention manager. It is a big position in the Trump Campaign. Listen to what he said in private position to the rnc. He is sitting in a room, hes talking business, talking politics and it is a different . He is on stage and talking about the kinds of things he is talking about the things that project an image thats for that purpose. The part hes been playing is evolving into the part that youve been expecting. The part hes playing, is this a problem for him . He is walking a tight rope. As p king said, you would expect if he is the nominee to dial back on the outrageous comments and behavior we have consistently seen. If he is going to be the nominee, he has to reassure, the party leaders, theyre putting the party in the hands of somebody they can trust. If you say i have been playing it up, i am not that person, you open yourself to the criticism we heard from ted cruz, especially since on many issues, not all, but many issues donald trump is in a different place than 15 years ago. On balance, the biggest need is reassure the party they can trust him with the nomination. This is a tight rope. No question about it. This is him talking about changing his tone. He doesnt like ted cruz, he will take trump over ted cruz. What do you think, is this someone altering style for the general election . Couple things, Paul Manafort is the saving grace the Trump Campaign brought in, not a savvy move for him. Look, no one expects a politician to talk the way they do to 50,000 people the way they would at home with their families. If donald trump talks a certain way with a certain tone and maybe is thinking about changing it, thats fine. But what we are talking about is whether he will have an obama moment, where he is telling the russian head of state after the election i might have more flexibility. Thats what we are worried about. When it comes to Donald Trumps positions which have changed over the years, you have to wonder is he saying one thing to get elected and will do something completely different. It is a fear that both Trump Supporters and trump nonsupporters have of his candidacy. Jeffrey, what do you think, and also i wonder what do you think about the idea there might be some people that say oh, my goodness, i dont know if i can trust him with what he says, then they may actually take comfort from knowing that he is playing a bit of a part. First of all, in terms of the manafort comment, respectfully i think it is a big nothing. I think he is making a point that people are different in public and private, i think thats a truism, true of every politician. It is true of a lot of journalists. I dont get that the statement is any scandal. However, trump does have a problem, especially with hardcore conservatives that he has held these positions that were die metrically opposed to what he is now. So thats a problem. But this comment i dont think illuminates that in any particular way and i think the fact that ted cruz is flailing away at it tells you mostly that ted cruz is flailing away, not that donald trump is in any sort of trouble because of what Paul Manafort said. Donald trump said he would rewrite the republican platform on abortion. I know you have strong opinions on this. Can he do this . No. No. Whether he knows it or not or maybe he thinks once he is president he will change all the rules like changing the geneva convention, maybe he thinks he could do that. As the rules exist today the Committee Drafts the platform, the nominee, the president , they really have no influence over how that platform gets written. It is written before the convention. So im not sure when donald trump, at what stage in his presidency or as the nominee he thinks he will have influence over the platform. Thats just not how it works. He hasnt spent much time thinking about the logistics of the process. Ron . I was going to say the argument is revealing. First of all, in 1996 bob dole explicitely renounced the portion that called for end of birth right citizenship. If the platform doesnt change and donald trump is the nominee, he could go out and say i dont agree with that in the platform. What this underscores is how many issues trump represents a revolution from within thats challenging where the Republican Party has been. If you think about his opposition to cutting entitlements, opposition to free trade, his demand for mass deportation that goes beyond where the party has been. Now on abortion and on same sex rights bill in north carolina, transgender bathroom bill, there are a lot of places where he departs from what has been the center of gravity in the party. Thats why his nomination is a historic challenge for republicans. Theres clearly an audience for what he is selling, but what he is selling in many ways is different than what the party is offering. Police probe an investigation into the death of music icon prince. It is under way tonight. Officials revealing new details of his shocking death and the autopsy and drug tests that may solve the growing mystery what caused his sudden passing. Purple rain, emotional tributes, vigils, celebrations of princes life as fans around the world are mourning his death. His decades of music filling the air waves, underscoring his eclectic talent and appeal. Did he leave behind a trove of unreleased songs in a secret vault . Playing a part. Donald Trumps Convention manager telling republican insiders the controversial candidate at war with the gop is not the real trump. The top aide, assuring nervous Party Officials trump is ready to evolve into the role of president ial nominee. Do republicans believe him . Wolf blitzer is off. I am brianna keilar. Youre in the situation room. We are following breaking news. The Police Investigation under way into the death of legendary musician prince. New details emerging a short time ago, the first News Conference since his body was discovered thursday. Officials reveal the autopsy lasted four hours. They say results from toxicology tests are likely weeks away. The sheriff says there were no obvious signs of trauma, no reason to suspect suicide. Princes body has been released to his family, we are awaiting word on funeral plans. Top aide to donald trump is trying to reassure anxious gop insiders. Cnn obtained reporting of long time operative Paul Manafort, telling Party Officials that trump is, quote, playing a part and ready to evolve as a candidate. We are covering all of that and more with correspondents, guests and expert analysts. We want to begin with the investigation into princes death. Cnn National Correspondent brian young is there. What have you learned . Reporter we are at the News Conference, moved to paisley park where so many are gathering. Everyone wanted to know was there any trauma involved. He said there was no trauma involved. You can see the people that gathered to remember prince. We can show you hundreds of people here, they have come and started to deliver food to fans that traveled far and wide to come and remember someone they loved. Tonight investigators now piecing together details surrounding princes death. About 9 43 yesterday morning, received a medical call at paisley park in chanhassen, the fire, Sheriffs Office and ambulance responded. Thats standard protocol, is not unusual for us to have everybody respond to a medical like that. They found an unresponsive male in the elevator. Cpr was initially started but was unsuccessful. He was pronounced deceased at 10 07. Reporter among questions authorities are trying to answer, what took place in the house leading up to the discovery of princes slumped body by the elevator in the complex. Staff members from paisley park had been unable to contact prince yesterday morning and went to check on him. They found him unresponsive and called 911. Deputies went through the building to make sure nobody else was inside. Because this was an unwitnessed death of a middle aged adult, the decision was made to process the scene. That is also normal protocol. Reporter though nothing can be ruled out in the early stage of investigation, Authorities Say there are no signs of conflict. There are no obvious signs of trauma on the body at all. Reporter the medical examiner says a full autopsy report could take weeks to complete. This is a tragedy for all of us. To you, prince Rogers Nelson was a celebrity, to us he is a Community Member and good neighbor. To his family, he is a loved one. Reporter prince was 57. Thats part of the reason they decided to do a full investigation. This is a death investigation, until they rule out everything. Thats why theyve done a search warrant. They wont file that until sometime next week, we wont know what they gathered. They stressed this is an open investigation, they wont be giving much detail until they find out everything in terms of what happened with this case. Yes, the search warrant would be revealing. Ryan young, thank you so much. So many Unanswered Questions. I want to get with dr. Sanjay gupta. What stands out to you . A couple of things stood out. They got the call at 9 43 00 a. M. And just at 10 07 he is pronounced dead. A lot of times theres signs someone can be saved, theyll take the person to the hospital quickly as possible. If there are signs the person was still could be saved after overdose, theyll give a medication known as narcan. They did not give it. Because it was unwitnessed death, and unusual death, the entire area around where prince was found was also examined. They want to see if they can find any clues. There was autopsy performed that took about four hours. A complete autopsy the way the medical examiner put it, they want to basically look at anything, which says to me there was nothing obvious, nothing that was a hunch, they wanted to examine everything. The medical examiner spoke at the press conference. We say we will be doing a complete exam. That not only includes the present state of the body that is brought to us but also medical history of the individual, the family medical history of the individual. So those types of things will be encompassed in the medical examiners report that will be delivered to the sheriff for his investigation. So theres not an obvious thing i think, brianna, is what jumped out, or if there is, theyre not disclosing that at this time. They want to look at everything. Thats part of the reason we are hearing not hours and days before we get a response but days and weeks in terms of putting this all together. Why does it take so long for toxicology tests. Why does it take weeks . Part of it, you have to figure out what youre looking for. You can test for all sorts of different things, you may get more information and say we should test for this as well. Sometimes what you find could be small amounts. We have to take the tests and may have to confirm tests, so i think it is just being diligent about tests, making sure results match the rest of the findings, match the autopsy and family history, match the description of any medications he may have been taking. They probably will have preliminary results earlier than that, but what i sense from hearing the sheriff and folks from the mes office, they want a more complete picture before they release something. One of the salient points is there wasnt anything obvious, wasnt a suicide, no evidence of trauma, there wasnt something very obvious. They want to make sure as the sheriff put it, leave no stone unturned here. Sanjay, thanks so much. I want to get more on this with cnn anchor don lemon and former executive Vice President of his company, paisley park, kerry gordon, and senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin. I want to ask you, kerry, you talked before about the elevator. Prince was found unresponsive in the elevator. You said having been there at paisley park numerous times, he never really used the elevator, right . He never used the elevator when he was with me. I cant speak to whether he used it at night, whether he used it in other circumstances, but it seemed to me we were always not only Walking Around the place, we were kind of always on a little jog whenever i was with him. He was in very good shape. Like i said, i think the elevator when the complex was built was because he thought it was a cool thing to have more than something that was really functional. You thought it was more like a novelty, a nice feature in an expansive home there, i know you said maybe he used it other times, but are you thinking perhaps he was using it because he wasnt feeling up to heading up flights of stairs . Yeah. You know what, i think that could be the case in this case. Im not sure but i would think, like i said, most of the time i was with him, we were not only walking, we were kind of jogging through the facility. Dawn, we heard earlier from Nischelle Turner reporting she spoke with princes exfiance, sheila e, and she said he was in a lot of pain. He was known for wearing high heels, very highheeled shoes, she said he would do moves where he was jumping off things. He was on stage, it caused pain for him. Yeah. I mean, but prince was very athletic. He wasnt a big man. I dont think it was hard for him to move around, but he did. I dont know if he had pain, sheila e. Knows better than anyone else if he did or not. He also had the cane, the cane could have been for style reasons or could have been because he had some sort of medical issue from being so active and jumping up and down on stage. All of that is yet to be determined. As dr. Gupta said, i am sure as they get results back faster than they let onto, but what they want to do is compare them to other things to see the percentage of what was in his body, the combination, what would lead to what, make sure as he is taking certain medication, whether or not it was interacting or reacting with other medication. We dont know his medical history. The sheriff alluded to that. We want to know what officials took from his home. What does it tell you that the sheriff said they havent filed a search warrant . This is a real investigation and they are going to want to talk to people, see what was in the house, in the medicine cabinet, by his bed, places people keep medication or drugs they might be taking, and there might be people involved who supplied him with his medication. That isnt to say theres something sinister or untoward, but it is something investigators want to know. You cant just rummage in a house without a search warrant. Investigators also dont want everyone to know in real time what theyre doing. They have a right to slowly do the investigation, to ask people question, not have people line up stories if they were inclined to do it. This is a prudent way to proceed, not a suggestion that anyone did anything wrong or criminal, but it is a real investigation when a 57yearold person dies for no apparent reason. It is an appropriate thing to do. Brianna . Yes, don. I think whats important is whether or not there are cameras. Yes, exactly right. Thats what i wanted to ask kerry, having been there in paisley park, kerry, so many times, did he have the security cameras installed or Audio Devices where that might be essential for the 12 missing hours . You know what, i believe so, but i dont remember. I cant imagine him not having them, but i dont remember that as an element, i never felt paranoid when i was in the place. He didnt like to be photographed or have cameras in his private facility. It will be interesting. You think, don, he might not have . He might not have, he was so private. This is again a place people come in from outside and i think it would be prudent to have them, one should have them, but prince is so private, the sheriff said it, kerry said it, all his friends, people that know him, even he didnt want people recording when they came to paisley park. That will be interesting to see. We know, dawn, that he was clothed in a shirt and pants, but it is unclear if those are pajamas, if that is obviously thats something that officials are looking at. Was he dressed in clothes from the day before, had he retired from the night, was he alive in the morning before he was found. That will establish a time line, if he was in pajamas, what have you, it would lead them to believe he had some sort of trouble in the middle of the night, getting up to get help or try to, you know, do something to help himself, or if he was in street clothing from the night before when he came in, or maybe he was leaving early in the morning. They dont know. We simply dont know at this point. They havent seen him since 8 00 the night before. Gentlemen, dawn, kerry, jeffrey, thank you so much. We will talk more about prince and the investigation that we are learning new details about after a quick break. Don will be back with much more on this at 9 00 p. M. An autopsy has been completed, his body release to family. Officials say there were no obvious signs of trauma. We are expecting results likely in weeks from drug tests they did. We are back with former executive Vice President of princes company, paisley park, kerry gordy, and Jeffrey Toobin. Police were asked are you going to look at security cameras in drug stores that may have been visited by prince here or on his behalf in recent days. They wouldnt answer that. What did that tell you . Again, it is early in the investigation and everything intersects, depending on results of the autopsy, they may become more interested in what sort of medications or drugs he or someone on his behalf has purchased. They have to know all this stuff to know what happened. The Surveillance Video could or could not be relevant. Also basic investigative facts that need to be known. This is an enormous complex, paisley park. Who was present last night, did he have a friend there, were there body guards present, people working all night in music studios, as often happens in music studios, those are basic investigative facts that have to be known, then anyone that might have information about what happened in hours leading to his death has to be interviewed. This is a process that will take some time. Kerry, prince actually came up today at the joint press conference that we were monitoring between president obama and british Prime Minister david cameron. I want you to listen to this. I loved prince because he put out great music and he was a great performer. I didnt know him well, he came to perform at the white house last year and was extraordinary, creative, and original and full of energy and so it is a terrible loss. I am saying at the ambassadors residence, the ambassador has a turn table, this morning we played purple rain and delirious just to get warmed up before we left the house for important bilateral meetings. What do you think. Thats an amazing moment to hear the president talking about that, imagining him and the ambassador rocking out to some prince music this morning as a tribute. Well, demographically i think that the president is in that age group that would appreciate prince. He is a young president and he and prince are probably near the same age. So anybody that grew up during that time period and this time period would be a fan of prince if they were a fan of any type of r b or rock or pop music. I was glad that he used those songs because there were other prince songs he could have played would not have been appropriate for tv. Thats a good point. You are right. President obama is 54, prince is 57. Youre right, theyre in the same cohort there. But thats not even necessarily unique, right . Of course, it is the president , the ambassador, so that makes it sort of unique, but this is what people are doing around the country and around the world. There are dance parties, theyll be going to see his film purple rain in theaters starting this weekend. Theyre there at paisley park. Theyre going, people are driving through cities all over this country blaring his music. What do you think needs to happen as a memorial for prince . I think that whats happening right now is exactly what prince would want to happen. He would want to be recognized kind of in the same way that im doing im celebrating my relationship and my life with him, and i am thinking about all of the good times and things that he meant to the world. All the happiness he gave all of the people. So in my mourning im happy that i actually and all of you actually had a chance to really experience someone of this magnitude with this level of talent. Theres a lot of sadness, a lot of appreciation as well for his talent in the years he did spend here on earth. Kerry gordon, thank you so much, Jeffrey Toobin. Thanks to both of you. Just ahead, we will have more details tonight that are emerging about the death of prince. We have breaking News Coverage that will continue in a moment. Also this. First, another major story we are following. A top adviser to donald trump, his Campaign Manager telling officials behind closed doors that the controversial frontrunner has been playing a part. This is new ammo for rivals. Reporter absolutely. First among them, ted cruz. Donald trump has been ripping the Republican Partys delegate process, his advisers are trying to calm jitters of gop insiders. One adviser says trump is projecting an image to the public, a comment ted cruz said is proof that the gop frontrunner is lying to voters. Go ahead, what the hell. Lets have some fun. Reporter with donald trump closing in on the gop nomination. I was hit really, really hard. And if i didnt hit them back really, really harder, i wouldnt be here. Reporter one of his top advisers, Paul Manafort, spent part of the week wooing Republican Party officials in florida, making the case theres more to the real estate tycoon than his brash image on the stump. When he is talking about the kinds of things, talking about on the stump, he is projecting that for that purpose and youll start to see come toogt in the course of the next several months. Reporter manafort is explaining that much of trumps super heated rhetoric which has savages the delegate process in recent days. It is such a crooked system, it is disgusting. Reporter will cool down to the right temperature over time. He is evolving into the part that youve expected. Donalds campaign is now run by a washington lobbyist who has been a lobbyist 40 years. Reporter ted cruz seized on the remarks as evidence that the man that dubbed him lying ted. If it is lying ted cruz. Lying ted cruz. Reporter is telling whopers of his own. They were meeting with party leaders, and they were saying all of this is just a show. He doesnt believe anything he is saying, he is trying to fool gullible voters and he is not going to do any of it, not going to build a wall or deport anyone. He is telling us he is lying to us. Reporter cruz is arguing trump is betraying conservatives on controversial state bathroom laws, that aim to bar transgender people from using the restroom of their choice. A couple months ago donald trump told us he could be the most politically correct person on earth. We are beginning to see what that looks like. Reporter trump counters that cruz and kasich are wasting voters time as they have no path to nomination under contested convention. Theres no path to victory. They should both get out. Reporter caught in the crossfire, Reince Priebus asks them to look past the bitter primary season and stand united. I know candidates are going to try to say things to attract attention. Thats part of politics. We all need to get behind the nominee. Reporter some Top Republicans arent sure they can stomach more of what trump is dishing out. Manafort was telling gop members, dont worry, trumps a fraud. The gop frontrunner will have a chance to put the controversy behind him. Brianna, donald trump could have another big night coming on tuesday. The big primary night coming on the calendar next week. Jim acosta in delaware. Thank you. I want to get more on all of this with one of Donald Trumps key supporters, Scottie Nell Hughes of usa radio network. You heard what Paul Manafort said. What do you make of this . People are saying hes basically admitting that donald trump is two faced or that he is a phony or that hes just playing a part. I didnt hear that from it, and im very, very disheartened by the fact i listen to secretive tapes leaked out. This has to be lipged by ted cruz, to release from one of the advisers of the campaign, release the tape as though they expose fraud. Instead of questioning the candidate, theyre going after the staff. I think thats deplorable. One of the reasons people dont trust politicians today, why ted cruz is once again showing he is your typical politician that will cut and do whatever he needs to do to get elected. Manafort says, and it is a quote from him, playing a part. Why is that not a problem. Explain it. You say this is a nothing burger, why is that not an issue . This is nothing new. We talked in the past, always said that mr. Trump, theres nobody better in business than mr. Trump, and he knows his brand. While you dont compromise the product, you change the message depending on the audience and environment youre in. Michael jackson when he was on the Basketball Court in the early 90s was one of the fiercest competitors. But when he was off court, one of the nicest people you would meet. Mr. Trump, thats why he is so successful in business, but you dont compromise the product. He has never compromised what he said or his values or exactly what he is going to do for this country. Depending on the message and environment and people hes talking to. This is nothing new from what Paul Manafort said than what we said in september, he had 17 people on the stage competing. Obviously his message works. Hes still in the race and hes beating the other two by quite good numbers. There are a lot of republicans that say he would need to make a change if he is going to be successful in a general election. So if he is evolving, if he is going to be changing, what does it look like . What does he do to appeal to more people, and how does that work . Like the campaign is changing by bringing on more staff, getting ready for a general campaign, i think it is. It is true, mr. Trump is evolving into a general race candidate with the insurance that in case we go to brokered convention, we can handle it. I think mr. Trump will be the nominee and we have to go against the Democratic Party. That means a candidate that can talk to all the groups, all the diversity within his supporters, he will continue to expand that. One of the best ways is tapering down some vocabulary he used in the past. You go back and watch mr. Trump from the 80s and 90s, the way he portrayed himself. Theres a reason so many respect him, so many work for him. I talked to a gentleman that has been with him since the 70s. People that work for him love him, are loyal. Theres a reason why. You cant say that about the other campaigns, especially ted cruzs campaign, fiercely loyal people dont stay loyal long. He turns around, and something happens. Mr. Trump, once youre with him, stick with him, you realize you respect him. Thats the respect he will continue to grow and gain amongst Republican Party and the rest of the country when he becomes president. He is showing a new side of himself in a new ad. Lets play this, then well talk about it. Washington is broken. The truth is too many politicians are totally controlled by special interests and lobbyists. Thats going to change quickly. Well cut taxes for the middle class, negotiate new trade deals, bring back jobs, save Social Security and medicare without cuts, end illegal immigration, build a wall, strengthen our military, knock out isis, and take care of our great veterans. We are going to make America Great again. I am donald trump and i approved this message. Now, you hear the music there. Obviously the tone he is trying to get across is one of these are the things im promising to do. He does sound a little more i guess you could say president ial, certainly did on the evening of the new york primary, he is trying to project something here. We saw he went back to attacking ted cruz with the nickname lying ted and so forth. So which one is it that were going to be seeing more of or is this his effort to show more that he is multi facetted . Are we going to see both of these Donald Trumps . I think youre going to continue to see him evolve. He still has to deal with senator cruz and governor kasich, but the truth is they didnt get their own state, almost zero chance of getting the nomination before going to a chaotic convention. Youll see mr. Trump continue a message. Whats great about the commercial, it was clear, understandable, didnt have a bunch of ways to do it. Something every single american, republican or democrat, could relate to something in that commercial, say thats what i want. Thats the kind of candidate youll see mr. Trump evolve into. It is nothing new, just making his message more clear so more people understand him. Doesnt have to deal with the rif raf, hopefully not the shenanigans we have seen from the other campaigns as we get closer to july. Thanks for being with us. Scottie nell hughes, representing the donald Trump Campaign. Appreciate it. We have breaking news ahead. New details of the death of prince and this Police Investigation thats under way tonight. Our breaking News Coverage of the death of prince continues in a moment. First, an update on the democratic race for the white house. Hillary clinton and Bernie Sanders are locked in a battle for the five states that are holding primaries four days from today. Tonight Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are crisscrossing pennsylvania ahead of the keystone states primary next tuesday. Clinton addressing a range of issues, including online bullying and tying it to the president ial race. If i am the nominee, we could very well have a campaign that is exactly all about that. Reporter clinton offering rebuick of frontrunner Donald Trumps rhetoric on the campaign trail. It isnt about me, and i am not going to respond to what he says about me. I am going to respond to what he has said about women in general, i am going to respond to what he said about immigrants. Reporter on earth day, she challenges all of the republican candidates on Climate Change in an instagram video. This Global Warming hoax. There has been zero warming. Clinton is locked in a primary fight with sanders but dialing back attacks on her democratic rival. Her message now one of unity. We have to pull the country around to a point of unity where were all helping each other again. Reporter sanders is not backing down, calling out clinton for her stance on reforming Social Security. Time after time after time she has waffled, not given a straightforward answer. Reporter sanders seizing on comments joe biden gave to the new york times, praising the vermont senators aspirational message. Mr. Biden said in an interview, quote, i dont think any democrats ever won saying, quote, we cant think that big. We ought to really downsize here because it is not realistic, he said in a mocking tone. Reporter biden telling the times i like the idea of saying we can do so much more because we can. I think the Vice President is exactly right. That is what this campaign is about. Reporter the sanders Campaign Says it is actively pushing for votes in all five states that vote on tuesday. However, of those states Hillary Clinton has double digit leads, according to the polls, here in pennsylvania as well as in maryland and also in connecticut. Bri . Pennsylvania and maryland are the big ones there, we will be watching. Joe johns in philadelphia. Thanks so much. More with Sunlen Serfaty, Michael Smerconish and Jeffrey Toobin back with us as well. Michael, you say it has been known that donald trump when we get back to this idea, Hillary Clinton says she expects she will be bullied, but the big story today is his Convention Manager is saying he has been playing a part. Youre saying this has been clear since 2 core in theeance. Does this matter to voters . I think it was deliberate. You do . I dont think it was a bombshell or an error. I think Paul Manafort is a skilled political operative who knew exactly what he was doing. He would never Say Something in a room like that without an expectation it would get out. My interpretation is that this is the early stage of donald trump pivoting toward the general election. He thinks he is coming in the home stretch of the 1237, and knows he has to appeal to more centrists to win this thing. What do you think, jeffrey . I do think this process of moving toward the center will go on. I think we disagree about the Paul Manafort statement which i continue to believe is no big deal. The real problem donald trump has is that his views on a lot of issues are still not very consistent with what the base of the party has believed in for generations, so he has to walk this line of still continuing to campaign in the republican primaries while turning toward the general election when his deal is not quite done yet. Cant that work for him . Let me play devils advocate, if his policies are a little, not right there with the base, but the base likes his tone, and if folks have issue with the policy would like to see him moderate his tone a little bit, cant this work for him . Absolutely. Thats why candidates always move toward the center when it comes to the general election. His problem is some of his policies he cant really change. He does say hes going to build this gigantic wall. Thats the core of his campaign. He also said he is going to keep all muslims that are not citizens outside the united states. Thats a rather extreme, unprecedented view that i dont think he can mod late or change because it has been such a high profile position. Those will remain problems regardless of what happens in the republican primary. So when ted cruz is jumping on the comments, he sees an opening here or is this sort of a hail mary do you think . Reporter thats right. He went out of his way multiple times today and yesterday, bringing it up in radio interviews, bringing it up to rallies today. It so reminds me, brianna, of the early days of the Cruz Campaign, criticizing donald trump. He was trying to make this argument, really drilling down and hammering down at every turn. Donald trump is not a republican. Donald trump is not a conservative. He doesnt share your iowa values. This really has given him an opening to kind of refresh the argument once again. And i think also the fact that these comments were made in his behind closed doors setting in front of republican officials. I think that also plays into, you know, ted cruzs hand, arguing what more dont we know about donald trump. So i suspect we will continue to hear him argue this going forward. All right. And sunlen, i want to ask about this. It does seem like ted cruz is hanging his hopes on indiana. He says if trump doesnt win hes not going to reach this 1,237 number for delegates and the latest poll out of indiana from fox, trump is ahead only by eight points, though. Does ted cruz think he can close this gap . Reporter well, the cruz complain certainly sees indiana as a Good Opportunity for them. We know that they have already really laid the ground work and stated theyre on tv rather quietly went on the air there just recently. And i was with ted cruz yesterday in indiana. Very clearly sensed he is in indiana to do well, to win it. He was courting the governor there, mike pence. The only candidate to appear at this gop state dinner last night. Very clearly setting his sights on indiana, playing out the stakes high for donald trump, saying this is pivotal to really not shy at all about his strategy going forward. And he even himself says i expect to spend a lot of time here in indiana over the next week and a half. Its a better opportunity and frankly, for him than the states coming up in the next goround on tuesday. Much better terrain for the Cruz Campaign going forward, and it seems they know that. We are counting down to the next president ial primaries, just four days from now in connecticut, delaware, rhode island, maryland and the big win, pennsylvania. And we have our group of folks, michael, sunlen, and jeffrey. Michael smerconish, to you first. You did this focus group with 11 voters. This is fascinating. This is part of a 165,000 voters in pennsylvania who switched their religion staying this year to vote in tuesdays pennsylvania primary. You got some surprising answers. Lets watch. How many of you switched from Democratic Party to the Republican Party . Raise your hand. Wow. Everybody. How many of you either favorably or unfavorably were motivated by donald trump . Raise your hand. Oh, my. Thats your focus group. Maybe this is why ive never done a focus group before. Okay. There anyone among you who joined to vote for trump because you want to prop him up so that hillary or bernie can beat him . No. Ah. A couple of those. Donald trump, i believe, is truly a dangerous man. For american democracy. If he was to be elected president , it would say more about the electorate, actually, than donald trump. You dont want him to be your president. No, i do not. If you vote for him, its to prop him up. It would be to set up the showdown in the general election. Yeah. Essentially, i dont want donald trump to be president. And i listen to cruz and hes even scarier in many ways. Yes. I agree with you. All right. That was pretty interesting. And its also very strategic on the part of these voters. What else did you learn . What i learned is that its a referendum on donald trump. Right . So we had 11 individuals all former ds who became rs. We knew they had become rs. We werent sure if they had been independents or democratic or not voting in the past at all. They were all motivated by donald trump. And brianna, some because they want to vote for trump, and as you just heard from that gentleman, some because they view him as the weakest republican, and they want to prop him up. Whats interesting about tuesday in pennsylvania, is that we will elect 71 delegates, and 54 of them, regardless of the outcome, will go to cleveland and be untethered. Unaffiliated. Its the singlelargest delegation that will be unaffiliated to a particular candidate. Its a beauty contest tuesday. They are ripe for trump or a trump opponent. So what brianna, can i just raise one issue . Yes. I think that suggests that donald trump is having a big problem with the people who wear jackets that are the stars and stripes and hats that wear stars and stripes. And that may be a weakness of his going forward. Because that jacket may set off a huge trend. I was really impressed by that jacket. I wonder, sunlen, are you hearing when you talk to folks on the road there, do you hear them doing this . Switching . You know, yeah. Well, i think that you certainly on the ground in pennsylvania, there is certainly this reflection of what battling with the last several months, people strategically voting to stop trump and then voters who like that one voter said, im scared of ted cruz. These two emerging as the front runner and then the one that wants to put this into a contested convention has now his path forward. I think it is this divide between voters that you very well like here in pennsylvania. Yeah, its fascinating. All right, sunlen, michael, jeffrey. Thank you so much and be sure to join Michael Smerconish for his show tomorrow at 9 00 eastern. Thanks so much for watching. Brianna keilar. Outfront starts right now. Outfront next, breaking news.
