Trump is telling aides he expects it will back up his claim of, quote, complete exoneration, end quote, but one republican source tells cnn the president is, quote, going to be bonkers when he sees the testimony of current and former white house officials. While those close to the president tell cnn they do not expect any bombshells, some details, of course, could prove embarrassing. Meantime, a federal judge this morning is very concerned about transparency and says that he may want to review the dojs redactions in the Mueller Report after its released. Thats a judge that is hearing a freedom of information act request for the full report to be released. This as democrats are poised to subpoena the Justice Department for the full Mueller Report and that subpoena could come as soon as friday. Joining us now we have joe lockhart former Clinton White house press secretary, Rick Santorum former republican senator from pennsylvania and cnns senior political commentator and Jeffrey Toobin cnn chief legal analyst. What will you be doing tomorrow . Where will you be reading this . What will be looking for this this report . Look, i will be just reading i think just like everybody else, but im not really looking for anything in particular. I suspect that the media will focus on the obstruction of justice piece. Look, youve heard me on this program for over a year now saying that there was no collusion and that theres no evidence and theres nothing going to be in that report thats going to be new, and i believe there will be nothing with the russia connection. But you dont think there will be anything new of interest. No, i dont. You dont think in 400 pages there will be anything new . Not that points to anything that rises to any concern that the public should have that the trump that the Trump Campaign was involved with the russians beyond what weve had leak. I think there is a lot of information out there and, you know, this is where i think your republican source may be pointing, about what members of the administration and, you know, said about the president s behavior with respect to the investigation, and i think thats where youre going to find the embarrassing information. I mean, Jeffrey Toobin, beyond embarrassing, what will be new that we should find out from the report is why mueller didnt make a decision on obstruction, why he punted on the obstruction decision either to congress or to barr, whomever, which hopefully we will get that answer as well. Thats more than just good to know, isnt that important to the republic . Absolutely. The question of obstruction of justice is very much unresolved here, it was unresolved by barrs letter. We know what barr thinks, but we really dont know what mueller thinks or how he expressed it or why he concluded in this apparently ambiguous way. You know, one phrase that ive used and i think rick used and i think we need to be careful about it, and i know ive been mistaken about this, you know, weve said that mueller found no evidence of obstruction. And ive said that im sorry, no evidence of collusion. What he found was that there was no criminally prosecutable case about collusion. Doesnt mean he found no evidence of it. He found no evidence that he could say leads to a criminal case. Those are two very Different Things and that may be one of the things were looking for tomorrow. Fair point. Joe lockhart, same question. Where will you be reading the Mueller Report and what will you be looking for . Well, i jokingly said that i would be getting a lawn chair, a cooler of beer and sitting at the end of ken starrs driveway on my podcast. Was it really a joke . Joe, was it really a joke . Well, i dont want the police to have to come and keep me off his property so i will just i will read it like everyone else does. Im actually going to really be looking for whats not there. You know, anyone who thinks that this fight is finished tomorrow is fooling themselves. Barr made some assumptions, were going to see what he based that on and what we see, but theres a lot of information that were not going to see that we eventually will see in some form. You mean not going to see because its redacted. Because its redacted. You know, again, i back up jeffreys point, just because you cant make a criminal case for collusion and conspiracy doesnt mean they didnt do things that were wrong. You know, voters make decisions not on whether the president is a crook, they base it on whether they think that the president can be trusted and whether he abuses his office. I think were going to find a lot of incidents that we have already heard about, maybe a few we havent, where he has abused the office and thats a big deal. The last point id make is i actually think from a Communications Point of view, a strategy, the whau has played this all wrong. By claiming total exoneration anything short of that now is a loss for them and we know theyre going to lose. We know were going to find things and, you know, again, it doesnt matter what his base thinks. As he goes into 2020 it matters what the people in the middle think and they dont believe the total exoneration and theres going to be a lot of fodder for that tomorrow. Jeffrey toobin, what is your control f first search word . I dont do it i have a mac i dont use control f. What do you use . Apple f . Come on, young producers, what do you do on a mac . Whats your word . I think that the first thing were all going to want to know is how much was redacted. Logistically its going to be complicated for those of us who are going to be on tv tomorrow. Except its colorcoded, dont forget. To turn the pages and see how many pages are not there and if its just a handful of words, then all this controversy will be over nothing, but if its 25 of the report, then, i mean, all bets are off about any conclusions that come from it. So i think just the issue of redactions is very important. Im sorry, rick, i didnt mean to interrupt you. No, i was interrupting you and i apologize. The beat goes on here. What we dont know. And weve been hearing this for two years, what we dont know and that this is speculation that all these horrible things that are out there that were not going to know because what youre going to find tomorrow, as i believe, is going to be a nothing, a nothing burger. How do you know . How do you know . Thats speculation on the other side. Because its been a nothing burger so far. As much speculation as weve had, as much as all these horrible crimes and impeachment and all these things that were going to happen and spending huge amounts of media time covering this, we have nothing. The reality is we still are going to say, well, you know, were not going to know tomorrow. To keep this story alive and to keep the pressure on the president were going to continue to say that theres something we might not know, and thats just i just dont think thats good journalism. You can absolutely disagree. Let me just make a point of fact here. We would know all if barr would turn over to congress and the American Public the full there are laws in place that dont allow you to do that. Senator, you very well know that he could join nadler and go to court and ask for a 6 e exemption to be able to show that grand jury material just as joe lockhart concluded was under kevin starrs report the president went from lets release the whole thing to its back to its a witchhunt. The important thing here is even what we know now is not a nothing burger. The president fired the head of the fbi because he wanted to stop the russia investigation. The president fired his attorney general because he recused himself. The president has talked about pardons. This is not a nothing burger. You can have all the talking points you want that say that this is all fine. Just what we know now, there is a case for abuse of power and the House Democrats will get into this in more detail and you can call it whatever you want, but this isnt over and the white house is playing into the democrats hands by trying to keep all this information from people. But, joe, to ricks point, how maddening is it to you that there will be all of these four colorcoded redactions when the ken starr report was just out there with all its salacious details for everybody to see . I will tell you something, its not that maddening to me as a Political Animal because what this means and i actually agree with rick on this is this extends the story into 2020. If i was sitting in the white house right now, particularly if its just embarrassing stuff, id want to pull the bandaid off. Id want to say here it is, everybody revel in it for a couple of weeks and then we will go make a deal with north korea and no one will ever remember this again. Were going to keep talking about this until the election day in 2020 if the white house isnt willing to release all of this information. They can do it, youre right, they can go to a judge with the Justice Department and congressman nadler release the grand jury information. Its been done in the past. Its not about ruining peoples lives, its about reassuring the American Public that the president of the United States didnt abuse his power to protect himself. Joe lockhart, Jeffrey Toobin, Rick Santorum, with he look forward to talking to you all tomorrow and getting the analysis then. Thank you very much. All right. Breaking news overnight, dozens of schools in denver or in the denver area are closed today while fbi officials look for an armed woman who says dosh who they say is, quote, infatuated with the columbine massacre. Scott mcclain is live from little ton, colorado. This he dont know where this woman is, do they . Reporter dont not much about her at all. Its important to point out there is no specific threat to any one school in the denver area, but what authorities know about this armed 18yearold woman, obviously is concerning enough, to close down nearly 20 School Districts in the metro denver area, we are talking about hundreds of students, its really hard to overstate just how significant this is. This womans name is sol pais, she is 18 years old. Authorities believe that she came from the miami area to colorado on monday, she immediately bought a shotgun and was taken out to the foothills area, a suburban area west of the metro denver area. Beyond that they dont know where she is, but they do consider her armed and dangerous. The concerning part is what Authorities Say are credible but really nonspecific threats. Also this infatuation that she seems to have with the columbine shooting that took place here back in 1999. The shooters who carried it out and killed 13 people. But here is the rub, what crime has she actually committed . The fbi, theyre still trying to figure that out. They said that they are working with the u. S. Attorneys office to figure out which charges may be appropriate in this case, but it is not illegal to die a gun, the threats havent been real specific and so its unclear on what grounds she might be arrested. They did say, though, that if they come across her they will try to arrest her and hold her as long as they legally can. Alisyn. Scott, thank you very much for all that reporting. Lets bring in josh campbell, a former fbi supervisory special agent and cnn Law Enforcement analyst. Josh, what a crazy story, schools are in lockdown. God bless good police work. They did here what we always wished they would do when we hear about something catastrophic happening, which is be proactive. So they were on it, they got her and they shut down schools. They did. You see this information really being shared coast to coast. So this tip came in presumably from miami, they are in florida with the fbi, it was shared with officials locally in colorado and, as you mentioned, they took immediate action to try to stop a potential threat. This is very concerning because i think the system is flashing red here with this case because of the posture of Law Enforcement, because of what were seeing. Most of the time investigations they keep things very tight to the vest, they conduct their work in secret, you take, for example, this Louisiana Church fire case that we just covered where they had 12 hours from the time they had identified the person until they came public, all of that was kept secret. Here what Law Enforcement is saying is, look, were not keeping this secret, were going public, we need the publics help and its because theyre laying their cards out which signals to us they dont know where she is and is can go for the public to help. Upon arriving in denver the woman immediately went to a store and bought a pump Action Shotgun and ammunition. The fact that a gun seller it just sounds like didnt ask a lot of questions or didnt ask the right questions, dont they need to be the first line of defense as well . Potentially. In this case we dont know the circumstances. Obviously its legal to go buy a firearm and if someone shows up to purchase one they are not going to necessarily ask you so no questions asked. When a woman shows up looking perhaps like that, theres just no questions asked. If you want a pump Action Shotgun youve got one. Theyre legal here. Thats a whole other conversation as far as accessibility. What i think this shows for Law Enforcement is in any particular case like this you are looking for two sets of facts, you want intent and capability and whether a threat is specific and credible. Now, what Law Enforcement is saying in this case is that its credible, they deem, based on the it im that they got. Its not specific. Thats why you see this really this opening the aperture across that area with all these schools. Intent and capability thats something different. If someone intends to cause harm which it appears they think she might you have to ask yourself are they capable of this. The fact that she was able to go buy a firearm and is out there that provides her with that capability. All this taken together is concerning. Her family says they have not heard from her since sunday, her naer was a message for his daughter, please come home. The fact that they say that she had some sort of, quote, infatuation with the kplum bico massacre, having been in the fbi, do you see this from time to time where people get fixated with a gruesome crime. Here we are coming up on the 20th anniversary of columbine, investigators would look at that and determine that may be another motivating factor if someone is trying to cause harm on the anniversary thats going to give them cause for alarm. Whats interesting in this case we always talk about in the aftermath of these shootings that columbine changed everything from a practical first from Law Enforcement. Now Law Enforcement officers dont wait, they go to the sound of the guns, they go to stop the threat. One thing thats also changed over the years is the seriousness with which Law Enforcement takes these type of issues. 10, 20 years ago if you had people that were musing about, you know, hatred and wanting to cause harm, that may not rise to a certain level, now they take every one of those threats seriously. Josh campbell, thank you very much for sharing your expertise with us. Poppy . Of course we will keep you posted on that story. Meantime, donations are pouring in from all over the world to help rebuild the beautiful iconic Notre Dame Cathedral. We will get more from paris ahead. This is jamie. The french culture minister says more than 900 million has been pledged so far toward the reconstruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral in paris. We have images of the destruction from mondays fire taken from above by a drone. Look at those. Shows that gaping hole in the top of the burned out cathedral. French president emanuel macron has set an ambitious fiveyear timeline to rebuild. Experts say it will take 10 to 15 years at least. Im joined by ambassador jamie mccourt, the u. S. Ambassador to france. She joins us from paris. Madam ambassador, thank you very much for being with us, our hearts are with paris. My pleasure. I will be there in a few weeks with our kids and cant wait to show them the beautiful facade of notre dame that still stands. If you could update us on the latest in terms of the investigation, the latest we heard is they believe it is an accident. Any more details this morning that you can share with us . There really are no other details because everyone is paying attention to reinforcing the facade and making sure that everything is safe and secure. Once theyre 100 certain that thats the case, then they will start the investigation to really determine what started everything. What does it feel like on the streets in paris today . Sn well, its really a very interesting question because it happens to be one of those stunningly gorgeous parisian days, the sun is out and theres tons of people on the street and there is really a bittersweet sense, you know, its shocking that all of this has happened, but on the other hand its also shocking that so much remains. So, in fact, theres so much hope about rebuilding it and all the things that it can be. As you mentioned, president macron has said it will be even better than it was before. And i actually believe that as well. The french are incredibly resilient and they are after all [ speaking Foreign Language ] so i think it will happen. I know that you obviously have spoken to the president , the president has spoken to president macron. Have you had any update from President Trump . I know the u. S. Is offering aid and assistance, how much, et cetera . I think every one is waiting to see whats really needed after its determined what is going to happen with the rebuild, what support exactly what will be needed. So youre reading about all of the gifts that have been made from around the world. The latest, of course, from our end is both carabbas and tim cook from apple and youve heard about the crowd funding which has raised over a billion dollars in a day and a half. Theres so much going on right now i think we have to wait to see how it all falls out. Do you know if there are any plans for anyone from the administration to visit paris . Im here. You are. In addition to you . Of course youre there. Im kidding. Im kidding. Im teasing you. There are people constantly coming in and out of paris from the administration and when they arrive, of course, this he come visit. Its very important and so, you know, we have support both in person and we have support really whenever we need it in terms of reaching out. If we could just speak for a moment about more broadly what france has been going through, what paris has been going through with these weekly protests, you know, right before the fire erupted president macron was meant to speak to the yellow vests who have been protesting here, a lot of this is because of inequality, economic disparity, et cetera, fears of immigration. Do you have a sense, ambassador, that this is a Pivotal Moment that will have effects that resonate for months to come in terms of some way some how helping to heal some of the wounds in france, helping to bring some together and realize, i think, our commonality . Right. I think its another really good question, to be honest with you its an interesting combination of events that have occurred, but if you think about it, just like the United States, we all share these values of democracy and liberty and protecting our freedoms. Its manifested itself differently in our country versus france, so here people are used to protests and weekly protests so the tolerance level is extraordinarily different, its part of the culture. So its really hard to know right now whether it will have an effect or not, but i do think that whats happened with this event at notre dame is that it shows that everybodys daily life brings people together and that things that are as iconic as the cathedral and as significant as the cathedral and so much a part of humanity, it really shows us that the is extremely precious and we shouldnt take advantage take advantage of that, we shouldnt take it for granted and we should take advantage of being brought together and not wait for something extreme to happen like this. What unites us all. I really appreciate your time this morning. Exactly. Ambassador jamie mccourt, our hearts are with all of france, i cant wait to be there and lend support as well. Thank you for being with us. Call us when you get here. Okay. That does sound good, that will be a good trip. Meanwhile, Deborah Norville is back on tv africanser surgery. An eagleeyed viewer may have saved inside edition anchor Deborah Norvilles life. 20 years ago the viewer noticed a lump on norvilles neck and reached out to bring it to her attention. The lump was initially benign but a recent test came back showing Thyroid Cancer. Joining us now is Deborah Norville. You look fantastic. I feel fantastic. How are you feeling after your surgery . I feel great. My biggest concern, you and i talk for a living, is the thyroid is right underneath the nerves that power the vocal cords and i was concerned because my doctor said there was a chance there would be nerve damage, we will do our best, so i was a little nervous but didnt happen. When you first woke up were you just trying to speak and see if you had your career in front of you. Im a roule follower, nobody said i could speak. When finally someone came and i responded and i, you know, a little hoarse of course because you had surgery but it worked so i was like thank you. Tell us about this viewer and this viewers message to you 20 years ago. This is interesting and ive heard from a number of people over the years, but the very first person who reached out was a woman from california who actually worked in television. I have not been able to find her, ive tried really hard. But she reached out to the publicist of our show and she said, ive noticed a lump on deborahs neck, i had something similar, it turned out to be Thyroid Cancer, please just have her check it out. She knew not to call me directly because she figured sometimes those dont get to you. So i had it checked and it was benign, as you said in the introduction. For years he have weve monitored it and thats really my message here is if you have a health situation, be persistent in keeping tabs on it. Every year, year and a half we would measure the modules, there were several of them, this he would fine needle biopsy, see if there was anything funky with the cells and it was always fine until the beginning of this year when the cells had turned cancerous, precancerous, it was scary stuff so the doctor said his recommendation was to go ahead and have the surgery. What did you think when you heard that it had turned cancerous . I wasnt surprised. You know sometimes you just have a feeling. Its like i was talking to somebody earlier today and their wife also had had Thyroid Cancer and for years she had a feeling, she had a feeling and nobody would listen to her. Another part of my message is if you suspect, if you sense, because we do have that intuition, act on it, and make sure someone listens to you. What do the rest of us need to know about Thyroid Cancer . I asked my doctor because there was a lot of attention because of my surgery and i said do we all need to be running to get thyroid scans now . He said, no, this is not like you need to have your regular mammogram or regular colonoscopy. If you feel a lump, if someone sees a lump or you see a lump, if you have difficulty swallowi swallowing, if you have difficulty speaking, if you experience pain, those are indicators that you should go to your physician and have it checked out. If they blow you off and you have these symptoms, go find another doctor. Find somebody that listens. I see that you still have tape. Yeah. Whats your healing process like . I get to keep this lovely tape on for about a month. The doctor says its supporting the scar. When they took out the stitches before they stuck this on i got to look. Its amazing because what they did is they did a zigzag stitch underneath the skin and then they glued basically they held my skin together with the surgical tape and so supposedly i will have minimal scarring, but who cares because, do you know what, a scar is an indicator that you fought a battle and you didnt die. So im good with it. Absolutely. Modern medicine, what they can do now in terms of obviously saving lives. Yeah. What is your message to what viewer . Its too bad that you havent been able to find her. I mean, obviously your publicist wouldnt still have the name. No, and unfortunately my publicist has passed away. I really dont have any way. But she knows and the many people who reached out to me know. You potentially saved my life and i am hugely grateful and i think, you know, we live in this time if you see something, say something. You know, theyre usually talking about bombs on the subway. Well, if you see something about someone you care about, and, lets face it, you are in peoples homes every morning, why you are audience cares about you. If they notice something on alisyn they think she needs to check it out let her know. I think we all need to do it for each other. I did have this experience, deborah, its a little bit weirder than yours. An eagleeyed viewer did write in, this was 12 years ago, because they noticed a strange abdominal distention on me. I wrote back annoyed and said maybe i ate too much at the barbecue. I did go to the doctor and the doctor said, quote, theres a baby in there andest that my son nate. You did not know you were expecting . No, and an eagle eyed viewer knew before i did. Theres something about viewers who can see things more than you and i can. Did you reach out to that viewer and later tell her you were right, i was pregnant. Because i had yelled at her via email, thanks a lot, maybe i ate too much, i then said on camera sorry about that you were right. I apologized on camera. Isnt that crazy that viewers do know us sometimes better than we know open sefls. Its not just people on tv. We did a story several years ago on inside edition about a woman who had been communicating on the internet via facebook with someone she didnt even know but she noticed something odd with the iris of her eye and she knew that could be an indicator for something really serious and i forget now what it was. The womans life was saved because of a facebook friend, a random person she didnt even know. So lets all take care of each other because its a good thing to do. Thats a great message. We are glad youre doing well and healthy. Its wonderful to see you and were grateful to our viewers. Poppy . I always loved watching you, Deborah Norville on tv. Thank you. Now i love you even more. Big day tomorrow if you havent heard, attorney general barrs summary of the Mueller Report, isnt the first time that he has summarized something really important. Were going to take you back in time for a must see reality check for john avalon next. With all that usaa offers why go with anybody else . We know their rates are good, we know that theyre always going to take care of us. It was an instant savings and i should have changed a long time ago. Were the tenneys and were usaa members for life. Call usaa to start saving on insurance today. All right. So when william barr had to explain to the American People a really Important Department of justice legal opinion, he took that opinion and turned it into a short report that, quote, summarizes the principal conclusions. Does that sound familiar . What im talking about actually took place back in 1989, for that john avalon here with a History Lesson reality check for us this morning. Good morning. Its a case of history repeating, guys. So its said that those who cant remember the past are condemned to repeat it and that would appear to be the case with our attorney general william barr. In his fourpage memo on the principal conclusions of the Mueller Report. Here is the thing, it turns out that bill barr has run this principled conclusions play before and when all the information finally came out Congress Found out that some pretty critical information was missing. Lets take a trip all the way back to friday the 13th, october, 1989, tears for fears was at the top of the pop charts, alexandria ocasiocortez was born on that day. We know that on that day a legal memo written by par leaked to the press and it made some stunning assertions that the fbi could make arrests on foreign soil without getting the permission of those foreign governments. Now, this was a reversal of u. S. Protocol as well as obligations under the u. N. Charter and seen as an attempt to provide cover for noriega on Drug Trafficking charges. Congress asked barr for the original legal opinion. Barr refused to give it up, instead he offered a 13page history that he said were the principal conclusions. Thats the exact same phrase and tactic barr used when he framed the results of the Mueller Investigation in his fourpage memo. When barr did this the first time the actual 22page document they found significant differences between barrs summary and the legal opinion. Barr breezed over the president s obligation to take care that treaties like the u. N. Charter be faithfully executed. Barr didnt mention his opinion overturned an earlier opinion about abductions on foreign soil. These were conclusion that is barr apparently chose to hide from congress and they didnt come into light until years later. At that point those concerns were literally academic. But in 1996 law review article conclude that barrs congressional testimony, quote, attempted to gloss over the broad legal and policy changes that his written opinion advocated, cited the depth of its deviation from accepted norms. Barr knows that the scrutiny on the Mueller Report will be much more intense than a relatively obscure legal opinion but this blast from the past matters because it may reveal his instincts and methods in support of a strong investigation of the presidency. Thats why its noteworthy that some on the mueller team have come forward to suggest that the conclusions are something less than the whole truth. We will know more tomorrow morning but it may turn out to be more evidence that the past a pro slowing, especially when it comes to people or as truman used to say the only thing new in the world is the history that you dont know. Oh, my gosh, john, that is fascinating. Summarizing may not be his strong suit. He has run this play before, people, so lets watch. Good to know. Thank you. There are new developments this morning in the College Admissions scandal. A course tells cnn why Lori Loughlin pleaded not guilty. Next. First, a true iron man who beat the odds, dr. Sanjay gupta has todays turning points. Nope iron man is exhausting, you know, youre starting off with a 2. 4 mile swim, then youre out for 112mile bike and a 26. 2 mile run, a marathon. Tim don is used to pushing his body to the limits, he competed in lee Olympic Games and broke the world record for the iron man in 2017, but even record holders have setbacks. Tims was particularly brutal. It was the wednesday before the World Championships in kona, one of my last bike rides. I remember seeing the white truck and then the next thing i remember is about 25 minutes later, i was in excruciating pain. The truck hit him, breaking his neck. Thats when my world got turned upside down. In hopes of racing again, tim chose one of the most uncomfortable forms of treatment, a halo. They literally get four titanium screws and they tighten them into your skull. Every day i had that halo there were times thinking i just cant go on. Even with his halo in place, tim began training in true iron man form. Six months after breaking his neck he completed the Boston Marathon in less than three hours and one year after his accident tim was competing at the iron man World Championships in kona. Some pretty stunning new developments in actress Lori Loughlins fight against federal charges in that College Admissions scam. A source close to her tells cnn this morning that she felt she had no other choice, but to plead not guilty. The source says a plea deal had been taken off the table and they were told she and her husband that in order to get another plea deal or avoid jail time potentially they would have to do this. Prosecutors say that loughlin and her husband paid 500,000 to a fake charity to get her two daughters into usc as crew recruits even though neither had ever road competitively. Joining us now joey jackson and paul cowan, both are cnn legal analysts. Good morning to you. Good morning. Lets pick up where we left off yesterday. So Lori Loughlins team, paul, is saying that she had no choice, she had to plead not guilty because the prosecutors took the plea deal off the table. Why would prosecutors take a plea deal off the table . She did have time to agree to it, but this is an Ongoing Investigation and its not at all unusual for sometimes prosecutors to come and back off on a plea deal when they find maybe there are more serious charges that have to be lodged. She probably rues the day she didnt take that original plea. We dont know whats going on in the background. Im going to give her the benefit of the doubt and say maybe she would have considered a plea. It sounds like she would have. Joey, theres been public speculation whats she doing, whats her strategy, why not take the plea. Thats ridiculous, Felicity Huffman did. Our crack entertainment reporter has found out she would have. I think its interesting to say the quote from a source people must not realize that she has no choice. The plea deal has been taken off the table. All right. Well, people need to understand the first thing is that it is pro forma, its generally the practice that at an arraignment you plead not guilty. There is no real mystery to that, its the in a i tour of the business, this was an arraignment, at an arraignment even though the appearance was waived you enter a no guilty plea as a matter of course. The real take away that i get from her saying that is correct hey, i thought i had no choice is potentially she may be stewing and thinking about taking a plea at some later time. But that window has closed. No because generally speaking what prosecutors did is theyre playing hard ball and they said, look, get in early, accept responsibility early, do you that we are all good, you dont do that we have a problem and they made true on their word . Why . Because they issued this super seeding indictment, amended indictment to say we mean business, now its too late. I would suspect at some future time perhaps the plea deal would not be as favorable but i would suspect prosecutors in an effort to avoid a trial may come back to them and say, hey, this is what he have with got, are you going to do it this time. Just to be clear plea deals are never a sweep the longer theyre sitting around. It gets worse the longer you wait. I think theres Something Else thats important here, american citizens have the constitutional right to have a jury trial if they want one. I mean, we are talking about Lori Loughlin like shes a criminal because shes saying i want to go to trial. I want to i want to test the evidence here. Shes presumed innocent and she has the right to go to trial. So i think we have to keep that in mind. Federal prosecutors are so spoiled by the resources of the federal government they have available, they think that they have to punish american citizens who have the audacity not to plead guilty. Well, go i have me a break. American citizens have the right to a jury trial if thats what they want. Part of the reason, paul that is correct were jumping to judgment is because weve watched whats happened with Felicity Huffman. So we already have this cautionary tale before Lori Loughlin where she is other 13 have pleaded guilty. So it seems just from our, you know, amateur eye that there must be evidence because they are all pleading guilty. Who are you calling an amateur over here. Felicity looks like ms. Goody two shoes and Lori Loughlin is the wicked witch of the west because she wouldnt take the blah he. Felicity huffman we now understand that prosecutors are going for between four and ten months in jail and so even an early plea deal and a letter of mea culpa might not let her escape jail. Im betting a judge is going to give her a pass. These judges theyve got the crips and the bloods and drug dealers and violent criminals and then felicity comes in Martha Stewart anyone. She went to club fed didnt she . Let me disagree in two respects with my esteemed colleague and mentor, mr. Cowan. The issue is yes we have a right to go to jail but there needs to be incentives that you provide the public so as not to go to jail. If you are going to hold the prosecution to the proof you are going to get pun lishd. There are consequences to going to trial, that is why we have plea deals, that is why at the end of the deal people decide maybe the getting is good, let me get out now. In the event that the prosecutors have the goods, that is, they have the evidence, why are we wasting time . Everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence, live that every day. If you want to go to trial you should, however, theres often realities that prevent you from going to trial, those realities we call evidence, right . And in the event that they have evidence of a conversation in which youre acknowledging what you did of perhaps emails, of perhaps wire transfers that you paid money, of perhaps an informal mr. Singer who is saying she knew all along, then it may be time to exit stage left. All right. Joey, paul, dynamic duo, thank you very much. Thank you, alisyn and poppy. The good stuff is next.
