Las vegas police are confirming that the suspect is now dead, but they are looking for another person of interest at this hour. They are also searching for two weeks. Kay unfolding at the route 91 Harvest Festival while Country Music singer jason aldean was performing. Thousands of spectators sent running for their lives. Jean, what are you learning . Reporter we are right here at the las vegas strip. Behind me you can see is the mandalay bay. We are a mile away from it. The mccarron run way is to the left of us. We see ambulances in and out. We see another ambulance leaving. As they would go into the scene, they would then come out. And i would look inside and i could see they were treating victims is as they were taken the ambulances out to the Trauma Centers here in las vegas. It is confirmed at this point that the shooter is down. They believe he is a local resident. There is a person of interest they are looking for, marilou danley, asianamerican, 411, 111 pounds. She is being called a person of interest at this point. The red cross is at the Las Vegas Police headquarters right now. They are encouraging family members of victims to come there if they do not know where their loved ones are. They can help them. Las vegas has a number of Trauma Centers at this point. And the big issue is how many victims are there . And police are very blunt but they just dont know at this point. At least 100 wounded. A lot least 20 deceased. One Las Vegas Police officer is in Critical Condition fighting for his life in a hospital. Another officer is in stable condition in that hospital. But as far as concertgoers, we do know that there were several Las Vegas Police officers off duty in that audience and they now believe they are deceased. I want you to listen to the latest presser how this all came down and how they discovered where that shooter was. Listen. We determined there was a shooter on the 32nd floor of the mandalay bay. Officers responded to that location anden gauged the suspect at that location. He is currentl dead currently. He is a local resident. I will not release his name at this time. Reporter i have interviewed so many concertgoers that were watching jason aldean. They said it was his final song at the end of the concert is. They realized the shots were coming. One person told me they looked up and saw they were coming from that upper floor of the mandalay bay, and that is when chaos broke loose. Terrifying moments in las vegas after a gunman opens fire at a Country Music concert. People were running out of everywhere. Everyone said hit the floor. Everyone was literally laying on top of each other. There were people hiding underneath my car for cover. It happened on the final night of the threeday route 91 Harvest Festival outside the mapped lay bay. It unfolded as jason aldean was performing. Police say the barrage of bullets were fired from the 32nd floor of the mandalay bay. The gunshots lasted 10, 15 minutes. Like it didnt stop. Reporter knocking frantic concertgoers to their knees. People running for their lives. People were climbing the fences, pushing their way flew the barricades. They were coming down. People screaming, crying, everything trying to come out. A man came running toeupt with blood all over his shirt saying his friends were dead, his friends were dead, please come and help. I have three critical patients in my vehicle. Is there anybody to assist us . Reporter swarms of people scattering for their lives. We cant go yet. Reporter and we have been standing out here about three hours now. We have seen ambulances going in and taking victims out. For the very first time just minutes ago, we are now seeing ambulances actually leave the scene. They dont have their lights on. They dont appear to have victims in them. But they are leaving the scene. What that means, we can ponder that there are no more victims. They are being treated now at Trauma Centers because ambulances are quietly leaving. This cell phone video is as horrific as any we have seen. You have been there for hours on the scene. What time did happen last night . Reporter 10 is when it started. 10 08 is when the shots started coming. Police are asking and appealing to Anyone Around the concert or mapped lay bay, if they have cell phone video, they want to see. They are asking that they take it to Las Vegas Police headquarters. Its just a call out. There is a person of interest. Marilou danley is a person of interest they are looking for. They believe she is a roommate to the suspect. The suspect is down. They are not naming him. They will only say at this point he is a local resident here in las vegas. Jean, you got to the scene not long after it happened. Whats the status on the strip right now . Is it open . Are there pedestrianing out the there . Reporter they brought buses bringing people from the strip taking them to the darren mack center, a very large facility with the university of nevada here in las vegas. They are housing people there. They say they dont believe there is any more shooters involved. They believe this was a a lone person doing this. When this was happening at 10 08, the strip was active. Thousands of people were watching jason aldean, a country superstar. And it was a sunday night. But at the las vegas strip, you know it is is packed with people day and night at all times. And it took the three hours that we have been standing here for them to look through every nook and cranny. This is still an active vision going on right now. There are so many places they had to look for victims to see who may need to be transported to a hospital. Once again, there is not a firm number of how many people have died, how many are injured. The last we heard, which was probably an hour ago, at least 20 people are deceased. At least 100 people are injured. We do believe that number will grow. When you watch this horrible video, what do you see . Chilling a, alyson. This was a committed shooter and i think it was also someone that followed this new paradigm were on in the Mass Shootings. Instead of where the shooter goes to attack people, he had a people 325 feet into a pieeo mass of 30,000 people. The amount of carnage, i feel the body count will rise. 32nd floor. It sounds like automatic weapons. The windows dont open. He would have had to have smashed through the window. Certainly. You could take a chair to do that. That could be the first round of fire that he did. What planning went into this. When he checked into the hotel, did he specifically request that room facing the area . We all tried to do that in hotels. This guy has an agenda. We dont check luggage. This makes every place extremely vulnerable. They might have done that for the concert but not the hotel. Absolutely. Think about us in times square coming up. Anybody. What im struck by, you hear what sounds like automatic fire in rapid succession. Eventually after the carnage, it stops. And that suggests, well you tell me, they made it up to the 32nd floor is and took him down. Im trying to count the shots. Like i said before, the volume is stupifying. It sounded like a beltfed weapon like a machine gun. Or maybe he had a number of weapons. Then you have the 45second pause. Maybe he was trying to change magazines. You have to have these four things to milwaukee a successful entry. Speed, surprise, violence of action, and failsafe roof. They didnt have surprise. The shooter knew they were going to come to him. The concertgoers were pinned in with no way to go get out. We do this all the time. We put everybody in there. Talk about a kill zone you create. No one thought about this until now. Every Law Enforcement agency has to think about this. At times square, you cant go anywhere. You cant move. We teach people to run, hide. Youre out in the middle of a field. There is no place to run and hide. You could be stampeded. You cant win. Horrifying. This person of interest, marilou danley, 411 inches tall, asianamerican. Believed to be his roommate. They have this person of interest and these two cars, not to mentioned fact that they have the guns and they can tracing those. They probably have a lot of information to go on. Certainly. Not only that. Video surveillance. Youre dealing with a casino. Theres cameras everywhere. They know who he is. They probably got the search warrant and executed it or executing we speak. Social media. What are they posting prior to this. These things can disappear off the internet real quick. We want to make sure they go and capture the electronic evidence to be able to use it and find out what made this guy take it. You cant belive it didnt happen sooner. You realize how vulnerable we all are when we go to any sort of concert, outdoor arena. It was unthinkable a few hours ago. Now, what changes as a result of this . How do people make sure this nephew happens . When i awoke to this, the first thing i thought, i studied this Historical Perspective of Mass Shootings. This took me back to august 1st, 1966 and the university of texas clock tower shooting where a form or marine, so he was experienced, didnt have the benefit of automatic weapons. He took four or five guns up there, was able to kill 14 and wound 31. Add the automatic weapon component to this and you have the biomass. Meaning you have all the people pinned in. I fear the casualty count is going to rise. The suspect is a local. We know that also. The dead suspect is awe local. Certainly knew this concert was going on. Seems to have taken place with a great deal of premeditation since he had to pick this hotel room and show up with this arsenal. I agree. This is something he has been planning. You know, everybody is going to be able to, you know, talk to his friends and family and see what hints he might have given. This is something where Law Enforcement has to put the pieces together. The public is going to want answers, why did this happen . And where did the gun come from . Where did he buy it . Was it stolen . Was it legal . For safety reasons, like i said alyson, anywhere you go today, youre going to think about this. If youre taking the train, your car, talking a walk. These are the things now that we have to be concerned about as ordinary citizens. The mass shooting that it reminds us of was Ariana Grande thing. Just because it was a concert thing. People trapped in the setting. Everybody celebrating. Your guard is down. And i think there were 22 killed in the Ariana Grande thing. As we have hardened targets, it is is impossible to get on a plane and hurt people. Its impossible to get into the federal building. And the concert and maybe this, it is hard to get past the first level of security. So what happens . Ariana grande, the bomber does what, outside the venue. In this instance, gets a hotel room, goes in, chemicals in and says i just want a view of the concert. So he is in position with an auto mat you can concert. That is the shifting paradigm and the fact that most shootings, to matter what the political ideologies are behind them, and we will soon figure that out. It could just abe deranged individual. They are not looking to negotiate their way out. Suicide or suicide by cop. You dont need that much training when you have 30 how people pinned in there. He has to be familiar with the firearm and loading spit reloading re loa it and reloading it. You can shoot these weapons out in the middle of the desert. They will look at the gain ranges and see where he visited. They will see where he got the gun from. You dont need it to we call it spray and pray. I think the point has been made. You look at all the other big events coming up. New years eve at times square. Big obviously sports events, et cetera, et cetera. It is terrifying when you think of the possibilities. You have to look at Police Response capabilities. There is not an inch of Square Footage not covered by video. They will be able to go back and piece that together. But the Police Response to get in in vegas where people carry a considerable amount of cash are reinforcement. A steel frame. The door will be steel. It has a latch. My guess is they probably used explosive breaching. But they did a phenomenal job get anything there and stopping him before he killed more people in the biomass. The sheriff did confirm they used an explosive at one point. That was the only one used. They will brief us within the next hour. Been doing the harvest fest for years and been an amazing showcase for las vegas and the casinos. It is is a different unique experience to be right in the heart of las vegas for Country Music fans. As jason aldean was performing, im standing stage right looking at jason, looking at the band. Jake owen was standing right next to me and a bunch of our friends. There was a sound like pyro misfiring. We were like why is there pyrotechnics going off right now . And a few seconds later there was more. We realized a few minutes later, the shells and the bullets were coming down on the deck of the stage. We could see them bouncing off the deck of the stage. You could see the crowd start to realize what was going on. Jason and his crew is ushered off the stage very professionally. And it was complete chaos, as expected. We all were. We all on got under the stage. Bullets continued to bounce off above us and all around us. We started to see people with blood on their shirts and people running and screaming. Finally it seemed like, i dont know, we have been trying to determine how long it actually lasted. It seemed like at least 20 minutes. It may not have been that long. But time, you have no idea. It just never stopped. Another round of bullets, another round of bullets, another round of bullets. We tried to help as many people as we could. When the bullets finally stopped, we tried to help as many people as we could. And not until i went out into the audience area backstage that i realized exactly the extent of the casualties. There were bodies laying in the grass. And some we could help and some we cooperate. We tried to help all the ones we could. I dont think anybody expected or could even fathom this kind of experience at a Country Music festival. My gosh, storme, incredible that you saw all that and experienced all that. Words fail. I was sitting with tyler reed, a country star too. And a bunch of our friends. Were just trying to put into words what we just experienced. And we cant. We cant come up with it. Its like watching a war movie that you feel like you went through it and you were witnessing something that was fictional. And it didnt really happen, but it did. We stepped over the bodies. We saw the people. We saw the heart wrenching sadness from relatives grabbing hold of their loved ones. The chaos and disbelief and complete stress. Disbelief is the only word you can come up with. The victims, did they look like gunshot victims or a number of people in the chaos of the stampede . No. You know whats really cool . There is a Silver Lining to this event is the humanity of the event. Everybody helped everyone. Everyone was finding a way to help people. There was no chaos and scramble. There was no chaos in leaving the event. The only people we saw that were injured were ones who were directly hit by bullets. These were not definitely not trampling injuries. These were just and people running around going, ive got another injured one here. Can you get another paramedic . And it took a while for paramedics to get there. Not to plame any first responder. We wanted them there as soon as possible. We have way too many injuries. There werent enough supplies. There werent enough towels, bandages, doctors that we could find. Anyone with any kind of experience was chipping in and doing everything they could to help were. I dont know if any local Police Department is prepared for casualties on this scale. No. We all have simulations and drills. Storme, tell us what happened had jason aldean, for people who dont know, he is cup music entertainer of the year. Sure. A huge star. When he was ushered off the stage and you were all hiding, what were you all saying to each other . What were those moments like . It was wondering if we were really experiencing we knew in our hearts we were experiencing. That was a reallife terrorist event. These were not just sounds. These were not firecrackers. These were not bottle rockets. They were bullets being hailed down from what i thought was the roof of the mandalay bay but now we know is the 32 floor, which is four floors from where i was staying with the same view of the festival. To think someone would take the time to put the gun out of the window and shoot in a you crowd of 30,000 people for whatever motive, i cannot fathom what would drive awe person to do that. If you wondered what we were thinking . No, this is not happening. That is the feeling we all felt. Storme, we are waiting to hear, we should tell you again, an update from the sheriff in las vegas to get an update on the investigation and any information he might have. How far away is that from where you were standing . You go to a lot of concerts. Im sure there was security for the concert but that doesnt come from the hotel itself. Highrise buildings lining the las vegas strip. This Festival Grounds is right on the las vegas strip. If you have a highpowered rifle, its not a long distance. Youre talking maybe a half a mile from the distance of the mandalay bay to the Festival Grounds or less. Im reading the statement that jason aldean just put out. Tonight has been beyond horrific. I still dont know what to say but wanted to let everyone know me and my crew are safe. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved. It hurts my heart for people coming out to enjoy the night. Happens too many times. We all remember what happened at the bataclan, Ariana Grande. Before you go on stage, or before those guys do with big events like this, is there ever talk or fear that something horrific could happen . I think in the world we live in, its always in the back of your mind now, unfortunately. But you cannot accept that to be reality. I mean, whether im hosting a festival or cheering on my favorite entertainers on the stage to think that that is going to be the outcome of your day. That is no ones first thought. Now, does it come across as well, this is a strange, large group of people. This would be an easy target . Maybe in the back of your mind it is. But its not what you go out to these events to expect. You dont go out thinking the worst. You think the best. Im going to get entertained by my favorite stars. We will have camaraderie, drink a few beers and, you know, raise a glass to a great day. No, you dont think this is going to happen. For a few days now we will think this is possible because we just saw it. I hope it doesnt define what we do as americans, as a global, you know, human race. I truly hope this doesnt define where we go from here. No. I hope it becomes a just a sense of hope that we all come together. And maybe we just put an end to this somehow. But this is ridiculous. We define ourselves, the shooter doesnt get to define us. Las vegas has been preparing for some kind of attack or event for many years. There have been vehicle incidents deemed not to be terrorism. But las vegas has run through all kinds of scenarios as a tourist attraction with the hotels who have different types of security to be sure storm. Storme, you were on stage. Explain what you saw from your vantage point. It was the sound. Im going to describe with my own ears. Because that is what i have, just em blaze onned right now. Rat a tat sound. To not know exact where it was coming from, where it was going. And you hope that it was Something Else than a gun. And then to see the effects. And all of on us wondering when is it going to be okay to get out of shelter . Has the firing stopped . Its more than what i saw with my own eyes. At least 20 people are dead, more than 100 people injured after a gunman opened fire with what sounds like an automatic rifle from the 32nd floor of the mapped lay bay, which looked out on this amazing outdoor festival, this concert is. It was the route 91 Harvest Festival, the fourth year of this live event there were thousands and thousands of people listen to get Country Music entertainer of the year jason aldean when these sounds started. There is a police of interest. Marilou danley. They are looking for her right now. After the shooting, there was concern there was more than one gunman. They do not believe there is an ongoing threat. That suspect is dead. Were awaiting update from the local police at any moment. And maybe at that point they will give us the suspects identity. Maybe they will have found something in that hotel room that helps their investigation and helps anyone on earth understand how this could happen and why this happened. We do know that they were able to obviously take out the gunman as quick a way as they probably could. No one ever prepares for something coming out of the 32nd floor window. We heard from our eyewitness, storme, telling us it felt like an eternity, obviously. But it always does. This is what we always hear from eyewitnesses. Emergency responders get there as soon as possible. Let me bring in our Law Enforcement analyst standing by. What did you hear from our eyewitness there . Again, its chilling to hear in the background the repeatity of the shots. Its staoup feig. The fact that the gunman was a las vegas resident says that he knows the area well. When youre looking at motive and what premeditated acts were there. It will sort out the ideology behind it or if he had mental heating issues. The fact that he took an elevated position. We teach folks run, hide, fight, and then go tell somebody what you saw. But in that instance, no one knew where the shots were coming. You could hear people saying where is it coming from . The noise in that cavern down there. It was interesting the eyewitness thought it was coming from the roof of the hotel as opposed to the ground. He had a good sense that they were coming from up above, which is pretty extraordinary. In these awful instances there is a moment of hope is that he said though there was a cast, everyone was helping everyone. The victims were from gunshots not a stampede. Its pretty amazing. You new of the terror in peoples minds. It is is truly amazing. Sometimes these instances bring out the best of these swaeurbl leadership roles. People just dont realize theyre doing it but they run and do it. We have storme with us on the phone. He was on the stage with jay country superstar jason aldean. Can you just recap what happened on stage and when you figured out what was happening. It was a sound we thought was pyrotechnics. We thought there was a miss fire because it was during the song not at the end of the song is. It was weird. We thought it was an audio issue. It happened again and for longer periods of time. We realized we were definitely under some sort of gunfire. And jason and his crew realized that too. They were ushered off the stage. Storme, hold on one second. Let us hear the sheriff. It is very important for you to understand that this investigation will be long and contracted before we get to Everything Associated with it. But one of the things i wanted to update you with is we have located the vehicles that i had put out in the first briefing and we believe were confident but not 100 sure we have located the female person of interest. I know the people to feel confident and calm that we accomplished a lot in a short period of time. The number of injuries is, we dont know yet. We are looking at in excess of 50 individuals dead and of 200 individuals injured at this point. I do not want to give you an accurate number and it be wrong. So is that is why i am portraying it in that manner. Now, the suspect i am going to provide you his identity at this point. His name is steve en paddock wi a date of birth of 491953. As far as his history and back ground, we havent completed that part of the investigation yet. We located numerous firearms within the room that he occupied. Like i stated earlier, it will be a long and tedious investigation. Now, were bringing in all the resources of the fbi to assist us in this investigation, in particular to their victim witness advocates and their csi folks to help us process the scene and assure we are getting all the evidence we can possibly obtain. So what we are going to try to do is the best we can to get First Responders back on their feet and responding and conducting a proper investigation and ensure we have the safety of this community at heart. I think it is important for you to see is the fbi, county fire, and commissioner behind me shows that we have full support of all the Government Entities to solve this situation as soon as possible. inaudible . One is critical but stable. One of my officers was off duty attending the concert and lost his life. Can you give any more details about the firearms no, i dont have any more details on the firearms. All we know is they were rifles. Were executing a search warrant on the room as we speak. inaudible . Were holding up. Were going to do the best we can. And i dont want to say thats what were paid to do because nobody is paid to do what we are experiencing right now. But in my purview of the Police Department, they are doing a fantastic job, and we will have to look at out for wellbeing moving forward. In this mass shooting last night that happened at a big music festival, outdoor music festival, 50 people have been killed. That makes this the deadliest mass shooting in u. S. History. It outpaces the pulse nightclub that happened in june 2016 where 49 people were killed. 50 people have been killed he said last night and at least 200 people injured. Theyre in area hospitals, many in Critical Condition, including one of his officers. At least 50 people killed. That number has gone up in the last hour and a half. We also learned, and this is important, the identity of the suspect who was killed. His name is steven paddock, 64 years old, a Las Vegas Area native. And the sheriff told us numerous firearms were found in the room of the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel room. Numerous firearms. 64 years old. Steven p ep paddock. Marilou danley has been found. We dont know if she is in custody. The vehicles have been found as well. And as i said, one officer at least is still in Critical Condition, one officer skilled. He was off duty at the concert. Our own jean casar es is live. Reporter we are learning behind me that a search warrant is currently being executed in the room where steven paddock was. And we heard just briefly ago in the press conference, we heard rifles. They are executing the search warrant. It is were an active crime scene right now. They are also in the midst of executing a search warrant. He said very shortly at the residence of steven paddock. So Law Enforcement, including the fbi, local authorities, and csi are in all aspects of this investigation right now. Heres where we are. We are right on the strip. It is an early quiet evening, Early Morning hours in las vegas. Not the hustle bustle you usually have. We just heard that the freeways that had been shut down let me tell you this town was shut down. Freeways shut down. Airport flights curtailed. Freeways have just been opened for people to pass through. Exits are still shut down. The landing above Mccarran International airport right across the street, i have seen one airplane land. Two dozen flights were diverted. It is believed flights will continue as morning breaks. I have seen so many emotions. I have seen shock, tears, disbelief. I have seen people just trying to relive what they have just experienced, which is trying to save their lives. As you said, john, they are not knowing at this point how many victims there are, how many deceased there are. The number has increased at least 50 people at this moment they have confirmed are dead. They said the hospitals were overwhelmed at this point. We know there is one Level One Trauma Center in las vegas. There is a level two trauma center. But for three hours, i saw ambulances go with their lights and sirens on and they would come out. And i would look in the window see them working on people as they were taking them to the local and the nearest trauma center. Now that has quieted down. Were not seeing the ambulances come out anymore. Reporter the federal government Homeland Security apparatus has been overburdened with issues related to the hurricane response in puerto rico. In fact, the president is planning to go to puerto rico at least so far its on the schedule for tomorrow. But not a peep from them thus far. The condo lenses are starting to come in from outside the country, including the Prime Minister of theresa may. She put out a statement a little while ago saying britains thoughts and prayers are with the victims in what she called an appalling attack. The president , who has been very quick on twitter especialinvolv that might be deemed terrorism, were not saying the that is the case here, jumped on twitter that people later took issue with. Absolutely, john. And what struck me the most was the age, 64 years old. This seems to be just outside the normal age range of what we have with these folks that commit these depraved acts of Mass Shootings. A couple other things struck me. One, early on we were careful not to call it an act of terror. We havent been able to get into the political ideologies behind it. The fbi is directly involved, as the sheriff pointed out. Ert, evidence response team, crime scene folks, working this thing. And i think you have to consider it terror until proven otherwise. What makes it terror . Obviously its terrifying. Meaning there is a political basis for . Reporter the actual definition is this. It is is any violence, tkaeugz or threat of in pursuit of political aims or social aims. They have search warrants. They will try to find out were there social media postings. What was the mindset . Or was this just a mentally unstable individual. This will be a protracted investigation. It will not be wrapped up in a day or two. You heard one of the reporters, any motivation yet . Was a note found . And he said way too soon. Theyre obviously in triage mode. They have 50 people at least who have been killed. This sets a sickening new bar for Mass Shootings in the United States. This is the worst casualty number of any mass shooting ever in you our history. Theyre being very guarded about what information they have. We dont want to speculate or jump to conclusions. We have seen what happened in the past and we dont want any mistakes. Law enforcement is handling this pretty well. We have to be happy how he is dealing with the media. Every two hours. This is something we havent seen yet. The chief is doing it himself. Hes not using a Public Information officer. He is out in the front of this, the face of the investigation. And i think thats why he is going to be very careful about what he releases. Sheriff joe lombardo of the Las Vegas Sheriffs Department. He sounded shaken. He lost one of his own deputies. One was there as a fan off duty. And another in Critical Condition. Hes got a lot on his mind, a lot on his plate. He lives there too. In his last briefing he said we dont know the shooters belief system. Which is code. Often in Mass Shootings you see is this an act of domestic islamic terror. We dont know the shooters belief system. There has been speculation. People jumped to it was a country concert. Law enforcement veterans, those kind of folks. That stuff will all be sorted out. Right now the mechanics in place are, first of all, which is what they have done, lets mitigate the threat. In crisis resolution, stop the shootings, the karlts. Consequence management. Make sure nobody else gets hurt. You have broken glass, suspended cartridges, a lot of things that need to be cleaned up. Then you go through the painstaking crime scene and go through that. Only one way you can describe what took place. This was a killing field. He picked that position purposely from the high ground, almost with military thought and precision and turned that concert into a killing field. History happened last night. At least 50 people are dead. At least 200 people are injured. Some of them quite critically. This happened at a huge outdoor concert called the route 91 Harvest Festival in las vegas on the las vegas strip. A gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and mowed down people, concertgoers, who were outside listening at that moment Country Music superstar jason aldean. The numbers keep going up in sickenly fashion. The suspect was killed. He was 64 years old. He had an associate, a person of interest who the police now have identified and found their investigation is just beginning. It will be long and protracted. They dont know motivation for this killing yet. More than 50 people dead, you could call it an act of on terror by any definition. We have someone with us on the phone right on the scene after it happened. Taxi driver Corianne Langdon who shot this video from inside her car. I just feel so horrible for everybody. Now im finding out more people are dead. I feel really bad. Basically i was at the mandalay bay. It was very quiet. I was just siting in the taxi waiting for a ride. All of a sudden a heard a couple pops. I thought it was fireworks coming from the festival across the street. So i didnt think much about it. Then a couple seconds later it started again. I just decided to turn on my video on my cell phone. And i still didnt know what was going on. And i saw a Security Guard going by. It just was everything just seemed so normal. I didnt think anything of it. Then i started hearing my fellow taxi drivers are our dispatch radio saying, oh, yeah, theres somebody shooting and its over by the mandalay bay. And i thought, well, im right here by the mandalay bay and i dont hear anything going on. I did decide that maybe i should go ahead and get out of there. As i was coming back around, i heard and saw the shots. By then i realized something really was going on. But you only see that kind of stuff in movies really. I didnt really comprehend what was actually going on. So i came back around. By now everybody on our dispatch radio was sawing, oh, okay, get out of there. There is an active shooter. So i went ahead and got out of there. And i went it wasnt until i crossed las vegas boulevard and saw all the cop cars. And i saw a couple of cop cars or a couple cops behind there with shotguns. I thought, oh, theres something really going on. So i came back around and thats when i saw people starting to run and scream. And they were coming out of the festival venue. And there were people coming over the fences and people started running towards my car. And, again, it was just surreal. I didnt really comprehend what was going on. Two people came up and said, oh, she has a broken leg, can she get in . I said, yeah, go ahead. And then they started running up to my cab. I took as many as i could. People were screaming. And i filmed i realized it was really bad. When i started going across and theres people in front of my cab and people laying on the ground being treated to, triage and everything, and even in the cab started screaming saying there was blood all over them. Theres hundreds of people dead inside. Of course these people were freaked out. And thats when i started to realize, oh, my god, something is wrong. So i got out of there as soon as possible. They kept saying take us to the strip. And i said, no, we want to get as far away as possible. I wasnt really scared then but im definitely scared now. And i feel really bad for everybody and all the families. Listen, corianne, its because of the bravery of people like you that we know las vegas will get through this. You helped people.
